Visit cambodia's ta prohm temple, angkor's ta prohm temple... one with the jungle.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor contains hundreds of temples and palaces built by Cambodia's Khmer people from the 9th – 15th centuries… all enveloped by forest until the early 20th century. Built in the 12th century as a Buddhist university and monastery, jungle-clad Ta Prohm Temple is one of Angkor's gems. Left in the clutches of centuries-old vines, its delicate reliefs are covered by creeping plants and its massive stones are cleaved by green; the effect is otherworldly yet magnificent.

Outside Thailand's city of Chiang Mai, the people of the region's remote, rural hill tribes farm and observe traditional ways of life. Each tribe has its own language, beliefs, customs and crafts... and its people are happy to share them with visitors to their colorful villages. Meet members of the Palong, Padong and the "long-necked" Karen tribes, whose women are known for the distinctive, traditional brass rings worn around their necks – which you can try on yourself.

About Booking This Tour

Travel Documents

If you are a U.S. citizen traveling internationally,  you will need a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the completion of your Tauck journey and current visas to enter Vietnam and Cambodia. You will not need a visa to enter Thailand for the short duration of this tour. Please Note: Your passport should contain at least three blank visa pages.

If you are a citizen of another country traveling internationally, please contact a consulate or embassy of Vietnam, of Cambodia and Thailand to determine if entry visas are required.

Tauck has collaborated with VisaCentral in the US to assist our guests with processing and issuing their travel documents. If a guest opts to work with VisaCentral, their services are available online at www.visacentral.com/tauck . To speak directly with VisaCentral Customer Service, call 844-860-7199 (toll-free in the US) or email [email protected] .  All US citizens require a valid passport to enter Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, and that passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel. (Please note that although adult passports are valid for a full ten years, children's passports require renewal every five years.)  Your passport must also contain a minimum of at least 3 blank visa pages. Please be advised that that extra visa pages are no longer available for passports. If you need additional pages in order to comply, you must renew your passport even if your current passport has not expired.  If you are a United States citizen and do not have a valid passport, please contact the closest US passport agency or consult the US State Department web site for detailed information on how to obtain or renew your passport at: www.travel.state.gov .  A visa is not required for Thailand.  Visas are necessary for both Vietnam and Cambodia. Please note that these visas must be processed within 90 days of your arrival.  All fees will be listed on visa paperwork.  The visa fee, as well as any applicable consular fees and shipping fees, are not included in the tour cost. The visa application will include the amount of the visa fee, which varies by destination.  Additionally, you may elect to obtain a Vietnam e-visa online at https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/en and/or a Cambodian e-visa on line at www.evisa.gov.kh  Non-US citizens should contact the embassies or consulates of Vietnam, Cambodia & Thailand to determine what documentation is required.  We advise bringing a photocopy of your passport as well as 2 extra passport photos in case your passport is lost during the tour. Be sure to check the expiration of your passport. New passports and visas may take several weeks to obtain.  IMPORTANT NOTE: Failure to obtain ALL necessary documentation prior to your tour may result in being denied entry into a country, or delays in entry until proper documentation can be obtained. In consideration of the larger group (and to maintain our planned itinerary), travelers who have failed to obtain the necessary documentation in advance may need to remain at the airport, and could thus be responsible for arranging (and paying for) their own transportation to join the group. Tauck will not be responsible for obtaining any missing documentation, nor will Tauck be responsible for any expenses incurred, missed tour components or other losses resulting from the failure to obtain proper travel documents in advance.  Regardless of which visa service company is used, the application will require a summary of your Tauck itinerary, which we will be happy to provide. Please email [email protected].   Please note: Because a visa is an official document, Tauck cannot apply for a visa on your behalf, and we are very limited regarding the assistance we're able to provide. If you require help, we recommend working with a reputable visa service company as they can provide the highest level of assistance.

To facilitate Travel Requirements, destinations are increasingly utilizing online forms that require digital proof that you've successfully completed your submission (via an email, QR code, etc.) To ensure smooth travels and peace of mind, we strongly recommend all guests carry a personal smart phone and sign up for international data plans before traveling overseas.

Note: For activities marked with an asterisk (*) in day-by-day descriptions, participation is at your own risk; a signed liability waiver will be required.

TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN AS A GUARDIAN: If you are traveling as the guardian of a child/children, we strongly suggest that you carry a letter from both parents of the child authorizing emergency treatment in the event of illness or accident. For travel abroad, many foreign countries have specific entry requirements for children under 21 who are traveling internationally without BOTH parents. (These requirements are in response to the increased incidence of children being abducted and taken abroad.) PLEASE NOTE THAT TAUCK IS NOT RESPONSIBLE for the disruption of travel caused by improper documentation for children traveling without both parents.

Travel Protection Plan

Effective for plans purchased as of July 1, 2021:

Tauck's Guest Protection

Tauck's Guest Protection provides you with cancellation protection before your journey begins as well as insurance benefits while you are traveling. Guest Protection includes the following:

Cancellation Waiver – Provided by Tauck:

Under Tauck's Cancellation Fee Waiver you can cancel your tour for ANY REASON up to the day before departure and receive a money-back refund (except in Extreme Circumstances*) on the land tour cost, based on your original method of payment.

*Extreme Circumstances:  In the event of an act of God, war (whether declared or undeclared), terrorism, accident, natural disaster, outbreak of disease, or other event or circumstance beyond our control that contributes to or results in cancellation rates above our historical cancellation rates in the absence of such event or occurrence, Tauck reserves the right to issue a credit to you in lieu of a money-back refund, applicable to a future Tauck journey.

Travel Insurance Benefits – Underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company.

  • Trip Cancellation –  If you must cancel your tour due to a covered reason, the plan provides coverage for the amount you paid for your travel arrangements. Since the non-insurance cancellation waiver takes care of the land package cancellation fees already, this benefit reimburses the airfare cancellation charges up to the value of your original airfare purchase.
  • Trip Interruption –  If you have to interrupt your tour for covered reasons, the plan provides reimbursement to catch up to your tour or return home.
  • Travel Delay –  Provides reimbursement for missed, prepaid travel arrangements if you are delayed by a common carrier, natural disaster, unannounced strike, or other reasons as cited in the plan.
  • Medical Expense –  Reimburses covered medical expenses incurred in the event you become injured or sick during your trip.
  • Baggage / Personal Effects Protection –  Provides reimbursement in the event your luggage or personal effects are, lost, stolen, damaged or delayed during your trip.
  • Worldwide Emergency Assistance Services –  Provided by Carefree Travel Assistance; 24-hour emergency telephone assistance hotline for medical and travel related problems.

The cost of Tauck's Guest Protection is: $759  per person

This protection provides insurance coverage that applies only during the covered trip. You may have coverage from other sources that provides you with similar benefits but may be subject to different restrictions depending upon your other coverages. You may wish to compare the terms of this policy with your existing life, health, home and automobile policies. If you have any questions about your current coverage, call your insurer, insurance agent or broker.

This optional Guest Protection must be requested at time of booking and fee must be included with initial payment. Fees are based on costs as of July 1, 2021, and are subject to change. Details will be provided with written confirmation of your tour reservation. Guest Protection does not protect travel agent commissions. Reimbursements will be made according to original method of payment. The amount of any refund shall be reduced by any recoveries obtained by you from any third parties.

The Guest Protection plan waives cancellation fees outlined below, provided we are notified of cancellation before your tour departs. Tour cancellation fees are waived regardless of reason, without written notice, and Tauck will refund land tour cost.

To obtain your state-specific Certificate of Insurance that contains the complete terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of the certificate, visit  affinitytravelcert.com/docs/TACGPPINTL .

If You Have To Cancel

If you cancel within 10 days of initial deposit Within the first 10 days after you place your initial deposit, you may cancel your reservation for any reason with no cancellation fees. If you cancel more than 10 days after initial deposit Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed bookings. These fees vary from tour to tour. Therefore, the following fees apply.

Loss of Guest Protection fee, per person

Cancellation Fees without Tauck's Guest Protection Plan :

90 days or more before departure = $600 per person

89-8 days before departure = $1250 per person

7-1 days before departure = $2000 per person

Travel Requirements For This Tour

Air Information and Luggage Restrictions

AIRFARE: Airfare to and from this destination is not included in the journey cost. If purchasing your air elsewhere, it is very important to provide us with your confirmed arriving and departing flight information no later than 3 weeks before your arrival date. Flight information can be submitted to Tauck (or verified, if you've already provided it) in the My Account section of Tauck.com.

TAUCK AIRPORT TRANSFERS are included at the start and end of the journey between the airport and the Tauck hotel. Airport transfers are available for any pre tour or post tour hotel stays immediately consecutive to the tour, providing flight information is received in the Tauck office no later than three weeks in advance. Details on locating your transfer upon arrival to the tour start city will be included in your final documents.

AIRLINES and CHECKED LUGGAGE: Due to space limitations during your Tauck journey, we ask that you please limit your checked luggage to one average-size suitcase per person. Besides complying with the Tauck restriction noted above, you should also be sure to research and comply with all airline baggage restrictions relating to your flights to and from your Tauck journey. Airlines have become much more strict in enforcing size and weight limits in recent years, and are free to revise luggage policies without notice. Researching and complying with airline luggage restrictions is the responsibility of the guest, and Tauck cannot be held responsible for any costs or disruptions to travel caused by the failure to research and comply with airline policies. PLEASE NOTE that if you are booked on a tour that includes on-tour flights, the checked luggage weight restrictions for these flights may be lower than the weight restrictions for your international flights.

Special Luggage Restrictions for this Tour

Due to strictly enforced weight restrictions on the on-tour flights, luggage weight per person must not exceed 44 lbs (20 kg) and you are permitted only one piece of checked luggage. Luggage exceeding the allowable weight is subject to excess baggage charges, which may result in a considerable additional expense.

The maximum allowable weight for carry-on luggage is 15 lbs (6.8 kg), and the maximum allowable dimensions are 22" by 14" by 10" (55.9 cm by 35.6 cm by 25 cm).  These dimensions include all wheels, handles, pockets, etc. If these dimensions are exceeded, the carry-on piece will be checked.

Regulations within most airports require that customers handle their own luggage through customs.

Checked Luggage – General

Besides complying with the Tauck restriction noted above, you should also be sure to research and comply with all airline baggage restrictions relating to your flights to and from your Tauck journey. Airlines have become much more strict in enforcing size and weight limits in recent years, and luggage exceeding airline standards for size or weight may result in expensive overage fees or other consequences.

Airlines are free to revise luggage policies without notice, and certain airlines have different baggage allowances for different classes of service. Researching and complying with airline luggage restrictions is the responsibility of the guest, and Tauck cannot be held responsible for any costs or disruptions to travel caused by the failure to research and comply with airline policies.

Tauck luggage tags will be provided by your Tauck Director on Day 1 of your itinerary. Please do not attach a Tauck luggage tag to any carry-on items, as the Tauck tags designate luggage that is to be handled and transferred by ground operators and hotel staff during your journey.

Carry-on Luggage – General

Although oversize bags and wheeled, carry-on luggage are popular for airline travel, they are often not convenient or appropriate for motor coach travel or for many on-tour flights. Most modern sightseeing motor coaches offer limited space for numerous or larger items. Space under seats or in the overhead rack is typically small, and designed to accommodate items like coats, hats, purses, and small camera bags, etc.

For your day-to-day travel while on tour, we recommend that you limit your hand luggage to a small, soft-sided carry-on piece, and only those items you need handy during the day such as purses, make-up, medications, cameras, film, etc. Items too large to fit under the motor coach seat or in the overhead rack must be stored in the luggage bays beneath the motor coach, and may be inaccessible during daytime travel.

Health, Safety and Mobility

HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS

Please check with your health insurance provider to determine whether you are covered while traveling. If you will not be covered under your current policy, we strongly suggest that you arrange for adequate coverage while on tour. If you have a medical condition which might limit your participation in activities, please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice and notify Tauck as soon as possible, if you have not already done so. We will advise your Tauck Director accordingly.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Some of the countries visited on this itinerary may require travelers to provide proof of vaccination against certain diseases in order to enter the country.  These requirements are subject to frequent change as outbreaks occur and subside in different areas, and it is therefore crucial that you obtain the very latest information on entry requirements as you prepare for your journey.

For the most current information, please consult the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by clicking  here  and the World Health Organization (WHO) by clicking  here . You may also wish to visit the web sites for the embassies of the countries you will be visiting.  Besides providing details on vaccination requirements, these sites can also provide information on vaccinations that may be recommended (but aren't required) and other potential health issues for which no vaccines are available.

Any decisions relating to your health, of course, should not be based solely on information provided by a web site.  It is critically important that you consult with your personal physician prior to your journey to obtain any required vaccinations and to review any optional recommendations offered by the CDC or other sources.

Please be sure to discuss your journey with your physician at least four to six weeks in advance of your departure, as certain vaccinations take time to become fully effective.  Also, be certain to ask your physician for proof of any vaccinations you receive, and to pack this proof along with your other travel documents in your carry-on luggage (not in your checked luggage).

Researching and complying with vaccination entry requirements for the countries visited on this itinerary is the responsibility of the traveler and not Tauck. Tauck is therefore not responsible for any expenses incurred or disruptions to travel caused by improper or incomplete vaccinations, or by the failure to provide proof of required vaccinations.

If you do not obtain the necessary vaccinations and proper documentation, you may be denied entry into one or more countries, or temporarily quarantined until the necessary vaccinations are administered, or until proper documentation is provided.

This Southeast Asia tour is very active and includes 6 on-tour flights. You should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances over uneven terrain that may, at times, be rocky and muddy, as some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot. Southeast Asia is home to innumerable historic buildings and sites, some dating from antiquity. Therefore, roads, walkways and architecture will present difficulties for some guests with physical disabilities. For the most part, however, the amount of walking you do is at your discretion. Please Note: There are numerous steps on this itinerary. In addition to walking, various other modes of transportation used to highlight the different aspects of Southeast Asian culture and geography for this tour could include airplane, boat, sampan, cyclo and tuk-tuk (auto rickshaw).

AN IMPORTANT NOTE ON SUPPLEMENTAL OXYGEN AND MOBILITY ISSUES:  This Tauck itinerary cannot accommodate oxygen tanks, wheelchairs or motorized scooters.  Oxygen tanks are strictly prohibited in many foreign countries on regional flights aboard small aircraft, such as those intra-tour flights featured on this Tauck journey.  Likewise, the very limited cargo capacity on such flights prohibits the transport of wheelchairs or motorized scooters.

Guests should also bear in mind that the infrastructure in many foreign countries, particularly in developing countries, often presents severe and even insurmountable challenges for those with walking difficulties or other mobility issues.  The responsibility of the Tauck Director is to ensure that the larger group enjoys a relaxing and informative journey, and he or she cannot be relied upon to provide ongoing individual assistance to any one guest.  Guests requiring such individualized assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied companion who can provide it.

SPECIAL DIETARY REQUESTS

The restaurants, hotels, caterers and numerous other partners we work with all do their best to accommodate special dietary requests from Tauck guests. However, given the diverse nature of those food providers (from small wineries to grand hotels to world-famous restaurants in more than 70 countries worldwide), some of our partners are better able than others to accommodate such requests. We therefore cannot guarantee that all dietary requests can be accommodated at every meal. Also, please note that where dietary requests can be accommodated, choices will frequently be limited.

Reading List

We have compiled a reading list of recommended books to give you more information about the destinations you will be traveling to on your upcoming journey!

You can view the reading list  here.

To read about current weather conditions, we suggest you log on to the Internet website,  noaa.gov , by clicking  here .

What To Pack

The climate in Southeast Asia is hot and humid year round. We suggest that you pack lightweight, casual clothing. While it is quite rainy and hot for most of the year, our departure dates are always scheduled when weather will be optimal.

Dress for comfort and convenience with a wardrobe that is flexible. Casual, cotton clothing is recommended. Sturdy yet comfortable walking shoes that have already been broken-in are essential. For dining in the evening, and for the welcome reception and the farewell dinner, you may wish to dress up a bit, but certainly be comfortable. Jackets for men are not required.

Valet laundry service is available throughout the entire tour. Hairdryers and irons and ironing boards are either located in your hotel room or are immediately available upon request.

We recommend that you pack an adequate supply of your prescription medication in its original container to last through your entire journey, together with a copy of your doctor's prescription or a letter from your health-care provider on office stationery explaining that the medication has been prescribed for you, a list of the generic names of your medication, your travel documents and a change of clothing in your carry-on bag to avoid any inconvenience in the event that your flight or luggage is delayed.

Toiletries, sundries, and over-the-counter and prescription medications may either be difficult to find or not available in Southeast Asia.

Following is a list of recommended items to pack for your journey across Southeast Asia:

  • Casual, cotton clothing
  • An optional sports jacket for men
  • Casual yet elegant evening wear for ladies
  • Light sweater
  • Light waterproof jacket
  • Sturdy yet comfortable, walking shoes that have already been broken-in
  • Collapsible umbrella
  • Toiletries, sundries
  • Pre-moistened towelettes
  • Handkerchiefs
  • Antibacterial lotion
  • Medication for allergies/aspirin/upset stomach/diarrhea
  • Insect repellent
  • Travel alarm/cell phone with alarm function (many hotels do not have clocks in the rooms)
  • Camera, film, memory cards, chargers, batteries and other photography accessories
  • Copies of your travel documents that should be secured in the safe in your hotel room while traveling

Please refer to the Necessary Gear website at  www.necessarygear.com  as one option available to you for renting and purchasing apparel, PPEs, and other items appropriate for your journey.

Board your flight to Hanoi today.

Welcome to Vietnam! Transfer to your hotel to settle in.

Join your Tour Director and fellow travelers on a guided exploration of Hanoi. Vietnam’s capital city is known for its centuries-old architecture, as well as its rich, cultural heritage, which includes a mix of Southeast Asian, Chinese, and French influences.

  • Pass Ba Đình Square, where Ho Chi Minh—the revolutionary leader and president of North Vietnam—read the Proclamation of Independence of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
  • Wander through the 11th-century Temple of Literature, a walled complex that’s dedicated to the Chinese philosopher Confucius and was the site of Vietnam’s first university.
  • Visit the site of Hỏa Lò Prison—sarcastically nicknamed the “Hanoi Hilton” by American detainees—where the late U.S. Senator and presidential contender John McCain was held as a POW for more than five years during the Vietnam War.
  • Tour the museum that occupies the remaining prison structure, and learn about POWs’ harrowing experiences in captivity.
  • Board a bicycle rickshaw and ride through the busy Old Quarter, an area that’s rich with Vietnamese architecture, green spaces, locally owned shops, and street food vendors.
  • Pass Đồng Xuân Market (one of the largest wholesale markets in the north of Vietnam), the Hanoi Opera House (built in the early 1900s by a pair of French architects), and Hoàn Kiếm Lake (its name, which translates to Lake of the Restored Sword, derives from a legend that was set there).

Get to know your Tour Director and fellow travelers at a welcome lunch served with beer or wine. Then, enjoy free time for the rest of the day in Hanoi or add an excursion.

A Day in Ninh Bình

From $115 per person

Transfer to Ha Long Bay and embark on a luxurious, overnight cruise aboard a small ship. As you explore this striking setting and UNESCO World Heritage site by boat, you’ll pass by many of its nearly 2,000 limestone islands and islets, most of which are uninhabited and unaffected by human presence.

  • Once on board the ship, enjoy a welcome drink, followed by an included lunch served with beer or wine.
  • Cruise past notable natural features, including Fighting Cocks Islet, Thien Cung Cave, and Dau Go Cave.
  • Climb aboard a small tender with a guide from your ship and motor across the water to Sung Sot Cave—the largest and, according to many, most beautiful cave in the bay.
  • Get back on board your tender for a ride to your next stop, Tung San Pearl Farm, where you’ll learn how pearls are grown using traditional Vietnamese methods and new Japanese technology.
  • After visiting the pearl farm, if you’d like, paddle a kayak along the waters of Ha Long Bay to enjoy up-close views of the water and scenery.
  • Return to your ship to enjoy a Vietnamese cooking demonstration, then sit down for an included dinner served with beer or wine.

Join a sunrise lesson in Tai Chi—a gentle form of exercise that originated in China as a martial art—on the ship this morning, if you’d like. Then, hop into a small boat and make your way to Ti Top Island for time spent swimming or hiking to the top of the island to enjoy stunning views of Hạ Long Bay.

After enjoying an included lunch, disembark your cruise ship later this morning and board a flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Join your Tour Director this morning for a guided exploration of Vietnam’s largest city, formerly known as Saigon. There’s much to discover in the city, including museums that detail its wartime past, as well as French colonial architecture, modern skyscrapers, and ornate temples.

  • Witness Vietnam’s progression from French colony to unified, independent nation as you enter the Reunification Palace, which was once the seat of South Vietnam’s government.
  • Make your way to the French Colonial district, stopping en route to view architectural highlights including the General Post Office, City Hall, and Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica.
  • Wander among popular Bến Thành Market’s 1,500 stalls, whose vendors sell everything from food to cosmetics, and stroll along Lê Công Kiều, a street known for its treasure trove of antiques.
  • Take a self-guided tour of the War Remnants Museum to get the local perspective on the Vietnam War.

Spend the afternoon learning more about the history and impact of the Vietnam War.

  • Travel by coach to the Củ Chi Tunnels, then join a local guide for a tour of the vast underground network built and used by Viet Cong guerrilla troops to transport supplies and communications, house soldiers, and mount surprise attacks against American and South Vietnamese forces.
  • See secret trapdoors, underground kitchens, living areas, and meeting rooms.

Please note: Your guide will advise you of the length and level of difficulty of each tunnel before entering. Those preferring to remain above ground will have ample opportunity to view excavated areas. Good walking shoes and sun protection are recommended, as are clothes that can get slightly dirty.

Enjoy a free day in Ho Chi Minh City or add an excursion.

  • Depart the Siem Reap area and enjoy sunset at Ta Prohm, a temple that has largely been reclaimed by the jungle and served as a filming location for the 2001 movie “Lara Craft: Tomb Raider,” starring Angelina Jolie.

Continue your exploration of Siem Reap with your Tour Director as your guide.

  • Flavorful Vietnamese cuisine relies on mint, coriander, cinnamon, ginger, lime, lemongrass, and Thai basil. Foods are cooked minimally, from lightly grilled meats to blanched vegetables. Seafood, often flavored with ginger, is popular, as are chicken, duck, and pork. Don’t miss dishes like spicy beef noodle soup and banh mi—a baguette filled with paté, cold cuts, and pickled vegetables.
  • International influence is evident in the Khmer cuisine of Cambodia, where full flavor is created through the mix of herbs and spices such as sweet basil, Asian coriander, mint, lemongrass, and pepper. The base of almost all Cambodian dishes is rice or noodles, served with a curry, soup, or vegetable stir-fry. Grilled freshwater fish is popular, and the fermented fish paste known as prahok is a traditional seasoning.
  • Traditional Thai cooking uses market-fresh ingredients seasoned with a mix of herbs, spices, and condiments, such as chili peppers and fish sauce. The main staple is rice.

  • In Cambodia, U.S. dollars are accepted everywhere, though change may be given in riel. Most hotels, restaurants, shops, taxis, buses, and airlines list their prices in U.S. dollars, but small transactions (less than a dollar) are usually conducted in riel. Always carry small amounts of riel for motorcycle taxis, snacks, and other small purchases.
  • Better rates of exchange are usually available overseas, although it’s worth ordering some currency from your local bank to use when you first arrive.
  • We strongly advise that you take debit/bank cards and credit cards, which can be used to withdraw cash at local banks as needed.

  • Inform your bank and credit card company of your travel plans so that they won’t confuse your international purchases for fraudulent charges.
  • International banks and businesses primarily accept debit and credit cards that work with the EMV chip system. If you do not already have at least one debit or credit card with a chip in it, we strongly recommend requesting one from your bank prior to your tour.
  • At the conclusion of your tour, it’s customary to offer your Tour Director and driver a gratuity in local currency. Please keep current exchange rates in mind.
  • We recommend tipping the equivalent of $10USD to $12USD per person per day for your Tour Director and the equivalent of $3USD per person per day for your driver.
  • If applicable, we also recommend the equivalent of $2USD per local guide.

Here you’ll visit  Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum  which contains the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh and his House on Stilts  to observe how he lived and how his life unfolded to become one of modern history’s greatest names. From HCM Complex, you will take a leisurely walk through the small laneways toward Huu Tiep Lake . Explore the grounds of a 400-year-old temple , followed by a stroll through traditional local market streets to see the B52 crash site at the lake. This US bomber was shot down during the 1972 bombing raids of Ha Noi, a poignant reminder of Vietnam’s recent history.

Some of the local people call this world-famous Noodle soup “Mac-Noodles” since it is as popular here as MacDonalds is in other parts of the world!  At the restaurant, your tour guide will explain the routine during Vietnamese meal times, and also tell you which special ingredients are needed for you.

Afternoon After lunch, continue to visit the millennia-old Temple of Literature and explore its role in the country’s past, as both a university and a Confucius temple. Next is  Hoa Lo (so-called Hanoi Hilton ), a prison used by the French colonists in Vietnam for political prisoners, and later by North Vietnam for U.S. Prisoners of War.

Your guide will talk you through the ingredients and the different herbs of each dish, while you are crouching on tiny plastic stools in a back alley. Sample delicious dishes like Nom Du Du  (green papaya salad),  Banh Mi Pa Te  (a sandwich that reflects Vietnam’s culinary heritage), and the famous Hanoi dish Bun Cha (grilled pork and noodles). Day 11 : Siem Reap – Full-Day Temple Exploration

Today with the help of your private and driver you will embark on a full day’s sightseeing around the Angkor Archaeological Park  which stretches over some 400 square kilometres, including forested area. The park contains the magnificent remains of several capitals of the great Khmer Empire of the 9th to the 15th centuries.

Morning Begin your day with an early visit (avoid the crowds) to the 13th-century Ta Prohm , a hauntingly beautiful temple where the roots of giant banyans and strangler figs enfold much of the stonework, creating scenes little changed since the French Adventurer Henri Mouhot re-discovered Angkor in the 1850s.  This temple makes the ‘Tomb Raider Temple’ one of the most picturesque and memorable of the Angkor temples.

Continue your explorations by visiting the ancient capital city of Angkor Thom , the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire that once ruled much of Southeast Asia. This city is surrounded by an 8 m high wall drawing a perfect square. You will enter the city from the ancient South Gate , an impressive stone gate carved with Elephants and four giant faces. On each side of the entrance path, a row of 54 gods or demons is holding the sacred Naga snak e .

Return to the hotel for a relaxing break during the midday heat.

Afternoon Your exploits will continue as you visit Banteay Kdei (“Citadel of Chambers”), a Buddhist monastery from the late 12th Century, and Sra Srang , also known as the “pool of ablutions”. From here, move onto the Bayon Temple in the exact centre of the ancient city. This 12th-century masterpiece is a study in grandeur and is well-known for its 54 towers with enigmatic faces representing the 54 provinces of the Great Khmer Empire.

You will also visit the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King as they are both known for their intricate bas-reliefs. Stroll through the grounds of the former Royal Palace to discover some small hidden temples that are rarely visited.

Finish your day sightseeing with a leisurely  gondola boat ride through the moats of Angkor Thom . In the tranquil solitude, visualize the royal city when it ruled over two million people nearly 800 years ago. As the sun approaches the horizon, make your way to Prasat Chrung , a small temple built in the style of Bayon, and climb an iron staircase to a quiet spot for excellent sunset views over the ruins.

Evening Your tour guide and driver will transfer you to a local village on the outskirt of Siem Reap where you will enjoy a home-hosted dinner . Experience the simple Khmer village life, relaxing in a swaying hammock, or helping the local family to prepare dinner, picking fresh produce from their organic gardens. In this amiable and informal setting, feel free to ask the village elders about Khmer traditions and daily life in this community.

Day 12 : Siem Reap – Further Temple Exploration

Today, you’ll continue to experience the temple relics but in a way that will really let you feel like you’ve escaped the 20th century and traveled a thousand years back to a time when life was simple and nature was surreal.

Morning As first light dawns, you will be at the most important religious monument in the country, admiring the extraordinary Temple of Angkor Wat across a reflecting moat.

When the sun rises behind the triple towers, the crowds will thin out as most people return to bed or a hotel breakfast. We will make use of the cool temperatures and soft morning light to explore Angkor Wat in a more peaceful atmosphere.

After enjoying your takeaway breakfast (prepared by your guide) near the temple, you will start exploring one of the Seven Wonders of the World : Angkor Wat . At this point, you most probably have gotten glimpses of the towers over treetops and the gates in front of passing. But now you’ll finally get to satiate that curiosity that’s grown in the last few days.

Enter Angkor Wat and learn about the stories and amazing architecture that has stunned archeologists leaving more questions than answers. Angkor Wat possesses some of the most intricate and longest stone carvings in the world. This complex is four times the size of the Vatican City making it the largest religious site in the world. Spend the rest of the morning adventuring through the many passages, levels, and exploring chambers that once housed one of many treasures of the ancient world. It will be an experience you will never forget.

Leaving Angkor Wat behind you will travel to the countryside to see the “gem” of the Angkor area, the pretty temple of Banteay Srey . The so-called “Citadel of the Women” remains the best-preserved temple in Cambodia. It displays some of the finest examples of classical Khmer art as this small temple is noted for its truly remarkable fine bas-reliefs. Banteay Srey is unique in that it is constructed of pink sandstone, which is seen nowhere else in Angkor.

Continue your day by driving up north to Kbal Spean , one of the earliest Hindu pilgrimage sites in Cambodia. Upon arrival, you will take a short trek up the hill through dense jungle with excellent views over the plains and the Kulen hills . At the top, be surprised about the “River of 1000 Lingas” with some remarkable stone carvings of Hindu gods, animals, and other symbols in the river bed.

Afternoon After enjoying a picnic lunch you can take a refreshing bath in the nearby waterfall, which is extremely popular with the local families.

On the way back to Siem Reap, make a quick stop at the Land Mine Museum which promotes mine awareness. Mr. Aki Ra, the museum founder, was trained as a child soldier during the Khmer Rouge regime and is working today as a de-miner. The museum serves also as a rescue centre for a number of land mine amputee children that Aki Ra has brought off Phnom Penh’s streets or from impoverished rural communities.

Evening Your guide and driver will take you out to watch Phare – the Cambodian Circus , an amazing blend of traditional and modern theater, music, dance, acrobatic, juggling and contortion beautifully choreographed and performed in a story about Cambodian lives and society.

Morning After breakfast, meet your private guide and driver again and head to the historic center of Bangkok and start your day at Wat Suthat . A few visitors come to this temple early, so much the better to enjoy the monks’ melodic chanting ritual. It’s an incredible sensory experience. Then, a short walk to Wat Pho (famous for its 141-foot-long reclining Buddha) will take you through small alleys with wooden houses, guardian spirit signs, and lively fruit and flower markets.

Make a stop at Lak Muang , Bangkok’s city pillar, well worth a five-minute detour before continuing onto the site the Thai people consider the most sacred in the Kingdom: The Royal Grand Palace and the E merald Buddha . This is one of the most beautiful examples of an ancient Thai court, with several grand halls in the same compound.

Enjoy a delightful Thai lunch and take in the scenic views at the Deck by Arun Residence restaurant and experience the mid-day bustling atmosphere of the lively Chao River.

Afternoon Take the public ferry to visit the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun) , which you will probably recognize from its famous silhouette. The local story goes that the shards of pottery decorating its 79 m tall spire came from a nearby shipwreck 100 years ago.

Continue to explore the Khlongs by a Long Tail Boat and be amazed by the constantly changing sights, from Thai wooden houses on stilts to the many boats with sellers offering everything from fruit to souvenirs.

Your sightseeing tour ends with a visit Wat Triamit , one of the most famous temples in Bangkok and is known as the Temple of the Golden Buddha (the statue of Buddha is made from solid gold weighting 5.5 tons). Then get back to your hotel for a short rest and some shower before taking the fantastic evening food tour by Tuk Tuk, a very popular means of transport in Thailand.

Evening Embark on an enchanting Tuk Tuk food journey from the heart of Bangkok. Led by expert guides and Tuk Tuk drivers, you’ll be whisked away to savor the flavors of Northeastern Thai cuisine , indulging in spicy delicacies like papaya salad, crispy catfish, and more. Unforgettable

We planned a couple trip with Stella Nguyen, who was always available and gave us good recommendations. In all places we had very good guides, drivers and cars. And very pleasant surprises like a romantic dinner. We started in Hanoi, took one night cruise in Ha Long Bay went down to Ho Chi Minh, passing by Hue and the lovely Hoi An. Another highlight was the visit to the Ankor Wat Temples in Siem Reap, also with an excellent guide. Vietnam is a country with beautiful landscapes, accelerated development, very friendly people and delicious food.

The amazing Vietnam trip

What a beautiful country, what lovely people. We had a fantastic experience, which was remarkably due to the planning and services we received from our tour organizer, Ms. Elly Do, and her team at Asia Pioneer Travel. Thank you very much, Elly. We were in Vietnam for two weeks, going from north to south. Everything was well arranged. Our local guides were knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating to our needs and changes in schedule. Toni in Hanoi, Ly in Sapa, Bahn in the central area and Ken in the south were fantastic. Thanks again to all.

Majid Hadavi

tour of vietnam cambodia and thailand

The purpose of our trip to Vietnam was to see the areas where husband/father was during the Vietnam War.

Booking our Vietnam trip through Asia Pioneer Travel was such an easy process. Chloe worked with me to make sure our trip was what our family wanted. Everything was catered to our preferences and scheduled with such detail. Chloe was so easy to work with and was always available for questions despite the time difference. She handled everything for us; all we had to do was book our international flights. We were met at the airport and driven to our hotels at every location. Our tour guides picked us up every morning and our itinerary was planned out so that we were able to visit north, central and south Vietnam. Pretty incredible for a ten -day trip. Our tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you again Chloe, Eric, Tony and Yen and our drivers.

Angkor Thom Ancient Capital

After breakfast, begin your explorations of the remains of an ancient civilization that once ruled much of Southeast Asia. Today, visit the ancient capital city of Angkor Thom. On your way, you’ll catch a glimpse of Angkor Wat as you pass by. However, we’ll save the best for last as you continue today to see some other equally impressive ruins of Ta Prohm Temple, Bayon Temple, Banteay Kdei, Baphoun, Elephant Terrace, Leper King Terrace, and the Royal Palace. First on the agenda is Ta Prohm. Worn by time, rain, and overpowered by the jungle, this immaculate structure hidden under a canopy will leave you feeling as if you’d stepped into an adventure movie set.

Then visit Banteay Kdei ("Citadel of Chambers”). Continue on to the Victory Gate, the Terrace of the Leper King, the Royal Palace, and Baphuon and Bayon. Bayon sets itself apart with its almost 200 smiling faces, sure to make you feel welcomed on your second day to the Kingdom of Wonders. With its winding tunnels, chambers, and daring climbs, Bayon offers many picturesque moments to keep your camera busy.

As the sun approaches the horizon, enjoy a sunset view from the top of the pyramid-shaped temple of Pre Rup. Return to the hotel for some time to relax.

Angkor Wat & Banteay Srei: Citadel of Women | Apsara Dancing Show

Meal: B / D

Be prepared today for one of the Seven Wonders of the World: Angkor Wat. Enter Angkor Wat and to view its amazing architecture and history. Angkor Wat possesses some of the longest and most intricate stone carving. This complex is four times the size of the Vatican City making it the largest religious site in the world. Spend the morning exploring through the many passages, levels, and chambers that once housed many treasures of the ancient world.

Continue on to the remote temple of Banteay Srei: set deep in the jungle. The Citadel of Women, Banteay Srei was carved from red sandstone, a medium that lends itself to elaborate decorative wall carvings, which are well preserved to this day. The buildings themselves are miniature in scale in comparison to the other colossal temples around Siem Reap, unusually so when measured by the standards of Angkorian construction. This temple is considered the jewel of Khmer art.

In the evening, enjoy the dinner with traditional Khmer Apsara Dancing Show.

2 Weeks in Thailand, Cambodia & Vietnam: 3 Perfect Itineraries for 14 Days

2 Weeks in Thailand, Cambodia & Vietnam: 3 Perfect Itineraries for 14 Days

As neighbors, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam are a popular combo for Southeast Asia trips. Comprising the epitome of Southeast Asia, they are the top choice for family trips, anniversary milestones, and first visits.

Read on for 2-week itinerary suggestions for first-timers, families, and couples to make the most fulfilling use of 14 days in Southeast Asia.

  • Itinerary 1: Best for First-Timers
  • Itinerary 2: Best for Families
  • Itinerary 3: Best for Couples
  • Cost for a 2-Week Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam Tour

How to Travel Between Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam?

Discover real reviews of Highlights Travel Family 's best-rated service across trusted platforms.

Itinerary #1: 2-Week Thailand Cambodia Vietnam Itinerary for First-Timers

2 weeks is a good amount of time for first-timers to discover the iconic highlights of these three countries.

This itinerary will take you to visit the Grand Palace, Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Thailand, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and the Mekong Delta and Ha Long Bay in Vietnam.

You could consider the following hand-picked first-timers'-favorites itinerary:

  • Days 1–2: Bangkok, Thailand
  • Days 3–5: Chiang Mai, Thailand
  • Days 6-8: Hanoi and Ha Long Bay cruise, Vietnam
  • Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
  • Day 10: Mekong Delta, Vietnam

Days 11–13: Siem Reap, Cambodia

  • Day 14: Departure

Days 1–2: Bangkok

In Bangkok, 2 days are a good allocation to deal with jet lag and explore the city highlights .

Bangkok's majestic Grand Palace, Wat Arun, and Wat Pho are windows into Bangkok's history. Food hunting and long-tail boating are also not to be missed in Bangkok, as they make good activities to engage with your kids/partner.

Days 3–5: Chiang Mai

When traveling to Chiang Mai, flights of under 1½ hours are more comfortable than 10-hour trains or private road transfers.

A Chiang Mai trip is not complete without a foodie tour, the flower market, and Elephant Jungle Sanctuary . Usually, we'd suggest you have a city sightseeing day, visit an elephant sanctuary for a day, and enjoy some free time before an onward flight.

If you're travelling in November, the Yi Peng and Loy Krathong lantern festivals in Chiang Mai offer the perfect backdrop for romantic milestone trips.

Days 6–8: Hanoi and Ha Long Bay

Generally speaking, a classic north Vietnam trip always includes a Hanoi city tour and a 2-day overnight Ha Long Bay cruise. In Hanoi, the Old Quarter and water puppet show are best to see, especially for kids.

For iconic Ha Long Bay, 2 days is more advisable to escape the big-tour-group day-trip crowds on both ships and islands. With an overnight stay, you could enjoy water activities like swimming and kayaking, cave exploring, or floating village visits with your family or your beloved at a leisurely pace.

For a more private experience, contact us for a private houseboat for just your family or partner.

Days 9–10: Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta

To have a taste of Ho Chi Minh City's (even Vietnam's) defining moments, a day trip including the Cu Chi Tunnels and War Remnants Museum is essential.

A day trip to the Mekong Delta would bring you closer to Vietnam's most-idyllic rustic life and scenery , especially when meeting local farmers and seeing their floating market. If time permits, stay a night to catch the sunrise over the early-morning floating market or even take a week-long Mekong River cruise to Cambodia.

3 days in Siem Reap is required to appreciate the beauty of splendid Angkor Wat and visit a floating village on Tonle Sap Lake.

Our exclusive ox cart ride in the countryside and sunset cocktail on Tonle Sap Lake would add memorable moments to your trip.

This 14-day itinerary doesn't have any beach activities. If you would like some beach time, we could spend in 3–5 days in Phuket or Koh Samui in Thailand. Please feel free to contact us to tailor a private itinerary for you. Check out our customizable 19-day itinerary .

Itinerary #2: 2-Week Itinerary in Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam for Families

Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam are good destinations for families of all ages, no matter whether you're celebrating a significant birthday or kids' graduations, etc.

This 14-day family trip itinerary has a relaxing tour pace and yet is packed with kid-friendly activities, especially the beach time in Phuket.

The outline and highlights below are for your inspiration:

  • Days 1–4: Hanoi and Ha Long Bay, Vietnam
  • Days 5–7: Siem Reap, Cambodia
  • Days 8–9: Bangkok, Thailand
  • Days 10–11: Chiang Mai, Thailand
  • Days 12–13: Phuket, Thailand

In Vietnam, food hunting in the Old Quarter and a water puppet show have made kids most excited about being in Hanoi. The 2-day Ha Long Bay cruise would give your family a relaxing time together. The cooking class on board, kayaking, and hidden cave exploration are great for family bonding.

In Cambodia, Angkor Wat is a must for something educational but also mysteriously beautiful. Taking an ox cart out onto the country roads would allow your children to discover exotic rustic life in a unique way.

In Thailand, you and your kids could walk, hug, bathe, and feed the elephants when visiting an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai! Then, refresh yourselves on stunning beaches in Phuket before returning home!

This itinerary could be tailor-made as per your schedule, interests, and budget. You could shorten this itinerary to 12 days ( see our suggested 12-day itinerary )...

Itinerary #3: 2-Week Itinerary in Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam for Couples

For couples, we are experienced in customizing exclusive romantic moments , whether you want a private Ha Long Bay cruise, a sunset balloon ride over Angkor Wat, or high-end resorts in Koh Samui with private couple massages...

See the following itinerary outline and description of just some of its romantic opportunities:

  • Days 5–6: Hoi An, Vietnam
  • Days 7–9: Siem Reap, Cambodia
  • Days 10–11: Bangkok, Thailand
  • Days 12–13: Koh Samui, Thailand

In Vietnam, you are recommended to go to Ha Long Bay, take an overnight cruise, and watch the charming sunset and sunrise with your loved one.

You would probably also enjoy going to laid-back Hoi An Ancient Town, strolling around, having a riverfront sunset dinner, and releasing floating lanterns for making wishes the Vietnamese way at night.

In Siem Reap, a sunset balloon ride over Angkor Wat and a sunset cocktail near Tonle Sap Lake would help you to create a life-long memory.

In Thailand, what could be better than some free days in Koh Samui? Away from the chaotic beaches, partake in fine dining, quality couple massages, and luxury resorts with swim-up pool rooms, which are ideal for romantic trips.

If you come in November, add 2–3 days in Chiang Mai for the annual Yi Peng Sky Lantern Festival (one of the world's best mass lantern releases). This world-class visual feast will definitely bring color to your romantic trip.

How Much Does a 2-Week Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam Tour Cost?

Southeast Asia offers great value for money. A private tour in Southeast Asia is an affordable luxury , which would add exclusivity and convenience to your trip.

For a 2-week Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam private tour, you would usually need to pay around US$200–250 per day per person (including airfares within Southeast Asia, 4/5-star hotels, lunches, attractions, guides, and transfers). Kids below 10 would get around 30% to 50% discounts.

So, beyond the international flights from/to your country, a 2-week private trip would cost you about US$9,000–12,000 for a family trip with 2 adults and 2 kids. For a couple only, the cost would be around US$5,000–7,000.

For more international flight choices, you're suggested to land in Thailand and depart from Vietnam, or vice versa.

Once in Southeast Asia, you can travel between countries conveniently as they border each other. Flights are undoubtedly the most time-saving choice, although you could have a relaxing and romantic experience by taking a Mekong River cruise between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Are you feeling like it's a lot to organize on your own? Just let us know your (rough) travel dates and interests , and our expert would be happy to personalize a private tour for your consideration within 24 hours!

tour of vietnam cambodia and thailand

We made a private tour through South China in January 2024. Altogether Chengdu was the highlight. We had an incredible day at Emeishan. In Chengdu our guidewas Helen. She was the diamond of all. Speaking fluently English, full of interesting stories, laughing and talking all the time. We missed her the rest of our tour. We highly recommend to go to Chengdu for 3 days when visiting China, especially with Helen.

tour of vietnam cambodia and thailand

Other highlights are too many to mention but here are a few Ken taking us to the Terracotta Warriors and our food tour in Xian was amazing,

Our day volunteering at the Panda Base was truly unforgettable. Helen, our guide, provided us with invaluable insights about Chengdu and the pandas, enriching our tour with her knowledge and expertise. We're grateful to Helen for accompanying us throughout the day and showcasing the highlights of China.

We had a booking with China Highlights through Silvia Ye who guarenteed a perfect organisation. In Chengdu our guide was Helen. She was the diamond of all. Speaking fluently English, full of interesting stories, laughing and talking all the time. We missed her the rest of our tour. We highly recommend to go to Chengdu for 3 days when visiting China, especially with Helen.

We traveled to China during the Chinese new year and we had Kris as our guide and he is simply knowledgeable, helpful and great.

We visited Guilin for 2 days and stayed in the Guilin Waterfall hotel. Guilin was absolutely beautiful! Our guide, William, was very knowledgeable and kind! He taught us so much about Guilin and the surrounding area! We really enjoyed trying the specialty rice noodles of Guilin. Our highlight was the Li river cruise.

Amazing tour and the guide Mr. 贺霄 was very accommodating with our needs and request as we have bought our 2 years old with us. Well explained for all the place we visited. Any additional cost were informed well ahead and didn't felt any pressure if we opt not to go for additional detour. The trip was relaxing/ laid back/no rushing with zero shopping!

We had an amazing to China. Our tour guide Martin in Shanghai was super knowledgeable, caring and very flexible with our itinerary. When my wife got sick in the Shanghai, he was able to arrange an English-speaking doctor on the spot and took us to the clinic. On top of the that, Martin and the driver stayed with us at the clinic for the whole duration and drove us back to the hotel afterwards. His genuine concern for our welfare and willingness to go the extra mile did not go unnoticed, and we were deeply touched by his kindness and compassion.

Guilin, but mostly Yangshuo was at the tail end of our China adventure so there was a lot to live up to. Having a guide like Gary Wei meant that our trip ended on a high! We arrived in Guilin very late from an 11 hour train journey. Gary met us with gifts of fruit, sweet bread and cakes which was so unexpected and thoughtful.Gary's knowledge of the area was exceptional and his attention to us the same. He really took our children under his wing - even tuning in to annoying sibling rivalry and managing to keep the peace very well! Gary was our personal photographer at times and even our Taiji instructor, making a beautiful video of us all doing Taiji in a scenic setting :)The cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo is definitely worth taking and we enjoyed our few nights in the area, riding bikes along the river, doing a cooking class and enjoying the scenery

Day 2 itinerary - there was an activity not included on the tour at the end of the day that we’re not aware about but in order to participate we have to pay an admission fee, which we did to participate. The tour guide z(lily) should summarize at the start of the day the activities for the day to inform us what to expect or if it’s consistent with our listed itinerary. During the biking tour to the temple the instructions was unclear where to meet, we got behind the group and before reaching the temple a couple on the side of the road motioned for us to stop and “to deposit the bike to them” and told us “if we need to use the bike up to the temple we have to pay them 100 VND” . We left the bike with them and decided to walk the rest of the way to the temple. This was reported to Lily the tour guide who said “ the biking should be up to the temple and she will talk to the couple” who told us to leave the bike with them on the side of the road. 3 nights in Cambodia is too much with not much to do after the half day excursions on Day 6, we could have flown to Bangkok and spent extra night in Bangkok, or in Vietnam where there are more things to do. The Mandarin hotel in Bangkok is excellent the hotel in Hanoi in the French Quarter and Siem Reap are comfortable and centrally located. Breakfast food selections are excellent with wide variety in the Mandarin Hotel in Bangkok, in the other 2 hotels in Hanoi and Siem Reap the breakfast food are just okay. Service and staff are excellent. Tour guide Lili in Hanoi, needs improvements in communication although all the tour guides are extra nice and

overall very good experience. The tour is quite well organized considering so many different tour options. I like that fact that I can travel independently with the itinerary all well taken care of. The only thing is that it is not quite compact. Many things can be done within a day and not two to three days. But some people might prefer that.

Spirits Of Vietnam - Cambodia - Thailand In 16 Days Tour

Spirits Of Vietnam - Cambodia - Thailand In 16 Days

Glimpse Of Indochina In 16 Days (Vietnam,Cambodia,Thailand,Laos) Tour

Glimpse Of Indochina In 16 Days (Vietnam,Cambodia,Thailand,Laos)

We just got home from our getaway to SE Asia and could not be HAPPIER! I'll admit that initially I was a bit skeptical about booking this trip through an online company site, but my concerns were quickly erased. Everything about this adventure was so well thought out and so well organized. Thank you so much to Long Pham with Realistic Asia. His constant communication via WhatsApp was so helpful. Realistic Asia is the local tour company that assisted us throughout every step of our adventure. Long was so attentive to every need. His constant contact was so appreciated. Contact that began well before we left. His guidance and question answering were all so helpful. We never had to worry about a thing. All ground transportation needs were provided, and the vehicles were beautiful. He also arranged for our flights from the different countries while we were there. *We booked our own flight from and back to US because we had miles to use. As we transferred from SE Asian countries throughout our trip Long would contact us the day prior to tell us the name and phone number of the tour guide meeting us at the airport or picking us up at the hotel/s. All of the locations in the itinerary were terrific - and if we wanted to edit/add to the itinerary we were able to do so in advance of the trip. There was even a day that a flight was delayed significantly. Due to that delay, we would have gotten in to our hotel too late for an early am tour. Long rearranged things for us for the next day to accommodate a change of schedule. The guides at each location were exceptional! So knowledgeable, friendly, and spoke English beautifully. I feel like we even made new friends with a few of them. Each of our hotels were awesome places to stay. Long was able to determine which kind of hotels met our needs best by asking about our needs, preferences, budget, etc....*Note: we did choose to upgrade to 4-star hotels and additionally to a 5-star resort in Phuket for our last hotel. (We added on three days in Phuket to our itinerary.) It really was a tailor-made getaway, and we are so happy that we trusted Tour Radar and Realistic Asia by booking this marvelous vacation with them. We will tell all of our friends to check you out and will looking forward to utilizing your services again in the future.

Essential Vietnam & Cambodia Tour

Essential Vietnam & Cambodia

Great trip from start to finish. Phoebe the CEO from G Adventures was excellent and all the organised and additional activities were just fabulous. This was my first trip with G Adventures and it will not be my last. The standard and cleanliness of the hotels and transportation was good, even the overnight train was fun, and how we laughed through the whole trip. So overall a great tour, a fabulous CEO, some great new friends and amazing sights and experiences.

I was very pleased with the guides from Bravo Indochina Tours. All of them were very knowledgeable and willing to share what they knew about the places we were visiting and the culture of Viet Nam, and each had a personal area of interest that added even more depth

Southeast Asia Trifecta: Cambodia, Vietnam & Bangkok Vibes

We spent 12 days in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand and it was absolutely phenomenal. I can hands down say it was one of my best overseas trip ever, and the credit for that goes to the incredible tour guide Sunny. He is one of the best people you will ever meet, and if you can get a tour with him, take it and run. We also really appreciated that G Adventures makes an effort to book places that are ethical, and support villages that need it most. They are a great group who really care. - Ashley

14 Days Vietnam & Cambodia

Absolutely loved the tour..just a few things could make it excellent..An English speaking driver on arrival at airport would start the holiday off really well..and more clarity about the long 13 hour journey when dropping passengers at the bus station and how long before next bus etc...on the whole we thoroughly enjoyed the tour and will recommend it to others. Thanks so much!!

Fantastic of Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand in 16 Days - Halong Bay/ Hoi An/ Siem Reap/ Phuket Tour

Fantastic of Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand in 16 Days - Halong Bay/ Hoi An/ Siem Reap/ Phuket

We had a great time travelling through Vietnam Cambodia and Thailand. The day tours were interesting and we especially enjoyed the bike tour in Hanoi and the temples in Siem Reap. Dat was very responsive to help with any questions, concerns we had. We fedback to the team re increased timing for airport transfers which was promptly rectified after running late for our first internal flight. Accommodation in Hanoi, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh were all in fantastic locations. Accomodation in Cambodia and Phuket required a Tuk tuk to reach the main centres for restaurants etc and would benefit from being more central. Overall we would recommend this trip if your keen for a snapshot of this region, with lots of activity and things to see- we had a great time!

Discover Indochina: 10-Day Private Expedition (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand) Tour

Discover Indochina: 10-Day Private Expedition (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand)

This was an excellent tour and the title describes it perfectly. Not only were we off the beaten path, we were emerged in the culture of the regions we were in and we loved it. All of the guides were top notch but two stood out. Mr.Thang in Hanoi and Johnny Cuing in Saigon. Both were knowledgeable and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. They both haves a great history lesson on the country and I found myself wanting to spend more time with them to learn more about their amazing country. They also provided recommendations for restaurants that were not the normal tourist suggestions. Mr. Long in the office was also great. We made some last minute changes to the itinerary and he was able to deliver on every request. I highly recommend Vietnam tour fun for any trip to Vietnam.

A good choice of historic places and nature. I've enjoyed the whole trip, but more days in Cambodia would be great.
My first group tour. Small group. The guides were very funny and so knowledgeable. Danny was especially helpful with Visa issues. Highly recommend!
