The tombs are the piece of craftsmanship lost in time with beautiful white-marble tombs and unparallel floral designs. Once you see the tombs and the other structures in the area, you would not believe that these are around 250+ years old. The excellent artistry work in the tombs is nothing but a masterpiece. The tombs are placed adjacent to each other in a line with names of the Paigah written on top of it. Other than that, several boards highlight some important members of the Paigah’s and the Nizam’s they served for. On several walls of the Paigah Tombs, you will notice some Geometrical patterns and some marvelous work blending the Mughal, Deccan and Persian style of architecture which are one of a kind.

This tour has 3 great highlights: 1. The places visited: Delhi has surprisingly beautiful and impressive palaces and towers; Agra with the emotionally moving Taj Mahal and the red fort; and Jaipur with just brilliant palace and a touching elephant ride and feeding. All different places but all just beautiful and impressive. Great choice! 2. The organization: everything went super-smoothly, great hotels (use the upgrade!), access etc. 3. The people: three extremely knowledgeable and friendly guides with interesting stories, and a super reliable driver with the nerves of steel that are needed to survive in Indian traffic. An unforgettable experience!

Reviews of india tours from hyderabad.

The Golden Triangle Tour from Hyderabad and it was an incredible experience. The tour was well organized and the itinerary was perfectly planned. The tour lasted for 4 days and included return flights from Hyderabad, which made it very convenient for me. The tour started in Delhi, where we were greeted by our friendly guide who gave us a brief introduction about the tour. Our first stop was the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra, and it was truly a sight to behold. The guide provided us with interesting facts and history about the monument, making the visit even more enriching. After Agra, we headed to Jaipur, the pink city of India. The city was full of vibrant colors, bustling streets, and magnificent palaces. The highlight of Jaipur for me was the visit to the Amber Fort, a stunning piece of architecture with a breathtaking view of the city. The last stop of the tour was in the capital city of India, Delhi. We visited famous landmarks such as the Red Fort, India Gate, and Qutub Minar. The contrast between the old and new parts of the city was fascinating, and our guide did an excellent job of explaining the cultural and historical significance of each place. One of the best parts of the tour was the comfortable and hassle-free travel. The return flights from Hyderabad were included in the package, which saved us a lot of time and effort. The hotels we stayed in were also top-notch, providing us with a comfortable and luxurious stay. Overall, the Golden Triangle Tour was an unforgettable experience for me. The tour was well-organized, and the guide was knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore the beauty and rich culture of India in a short period. It is a perfect blend of history, architecture, and culture, making it a must-do for every traveler.

But with only 3 days in hand, you’ll have to make very sharp choices to catch the best of Hyderabad. As always, we’ve got you sorted with our itinerary of hand-picked attractions for the definitive Hyderabad experience. So book a Hotel in Hyderabad and read on to find how to make the most of your brief sojourn.

Day 1 in Hyderabad

1. salarjung museum.

#1 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

#1 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

Start off your city tour with a visit to the famed Salarjung Museum, one of the best places to visit in Hyderabad in 3 days. A veritable (and frankly, eye-popping!) collection of artifacts from India, Persia, Egypt and Syria among other places fills up the 38 galleries housed in this impressive museum. Founded by Mir Yousuf Ali Khan, better known as Salar Jung III, part of a noble family of the erstwhile Hyderabad State, the museum is huge and would need several visits to see all the displays. Since you only have 3 days in Hyderabad, focus on only a few collections – the illustrated 13 th century copies of the Quran, the veiled statue of Rebecca sculpted in Italian marble, the substantial Jade collection and of course the famed 200-year-old clock that is struck every hour, by a fascinating bearded man!

  • Timings : 10.00 am – 5.00 pm
  • Ticket Price : ₹20 for Indians, ₹500 for foreign visitors
  • Best Eats Close by : Perfectly cooked Biryani at Shadab Hotel in Charminar , authentic Hyderabadi cuisine at Hotel Nayab, just minutes away from the museum and Al Khader Fruit Salad and Juice Center for its fresh juices, fruit salads and ice creams!

2. Charminar

#2 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

#2 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

Built in 1591 AD by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, to commemorate the end of plague, Charminar is the definitive Hyderabad icon. It is one of the best places to visit in Hyderabad in 3 days and frankly, you can’t miss it because it is right in the middle of the old city and you’ll cross it several times! Close to the Salarjung Museum, this impressive building was originally meant to be a mosque and affords beautiful views of the city, especially at night. Head up to the first floor via its beautiful spiral staircase and be charmed.

  • Timings : 9.30 am – 5.30 pm
  • Ticket Price : ₹5 for Indians, ₹100 for foreign visitors
  • Best Eats Close by : Butter-laden dosas at Govind ki Bandi, milky Irani Chai and famous Osmania biscuits at Nimrah Café and Bakery, lassi at Matwale Doodh Ghar; all in the market around Charminar

3. Chowmahalla Palace

#3 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

#3 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

History-laden and imposing, the recently restored 200-year-old Chowmahalla Palace is situated close to Charminar and is home to the Nizam’s personal collection of old photographs, vintage cars and antiques. Once the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty, this elegant royal compound was where the successive Nizams were nominated rulers and where most royal ceremonies and meetings took place. The complex consists of two courtyards and the magnificent chandeliered Durbar or Khilwat; if you only had 3 days in Hyderabad, this is one of the best places to visit.

  • Best Eats Close by : Mouth-watering kebabs at Siddique Kabab Center, unforgettable Haleem at Pista House and heavenly, chocolate-y desserts at the Chocolate Atelier

Day 2 in Hyderabad

4. golconda fort.

#4 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

#4 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

Once home to the immensely famous Koh-i-Noor diamond, the majestic Golconda Fort should be your first stop on Day 2. Expansive, historic and intriguing, the fort offers an insight into life back when it was occupied and used mainly as a fortress to keep away enemies. Canon-mounted bastions, gateways and drawbridges are all reminders of the wars fought here. Spread over an area of 11 sq. km. the fort is cut out of granite rock and also houses royal apartments, the zenana , and places of worship, impressive stables and other structures that are worth seeing. Don’t leave without hiking up to the Bala Hissar pavilion right at the top where the sound of clapping made at the bottom of the hill at Fateh Darwaza, can be heard. How’s that for brilliant acoustics? There’s also a sound and light show in the evening which you can aim for.

  • Timings : 8.00 am – 5.30 pm
  • Ticket Price : ₹15 for Indians, ₹200 for foreign visitors; ₹130 per person for the Sound & Light show
  • Best Eats Close by : Yummy biryani at the Green Bawarchi Restaurant and, a hot mug of coffee (you’ll need it after all the walking!) with snacks at Cuppa Bistro.

5. Qutub Shahi Tombs

#5 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

#5 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

Just a few minutes away from the hubbub of tourists at Golconda Fort lies the verdant, green complex of the Qutub Shahi Tombs in Ibrahim Bagh. Most people would skip it but we’d recommend a stop here to admire the architecture of the seven huge tombs where all the rulers of the namesake dynasty were laid to rest. Distinct from most other structures you see from the era, the tombs are made of black asphalt and are intricately carved. A beautiful site, the tombs are a great place to visit in Hyderabad on a 3 day trip.

  • Timings : 9.30 am – 4.30 pm
  • Ticket Price : ₹10 for adults, ₹5 for kids
  • Best Eats Close by : Chicken puffs and biscuits at Rahmath Bakery, tiffins at the Blue Box Tiffins

6. Birla Temple

#6 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

#6 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

One of the must-see places to visit in Hyderabad on a 3 day trip is the magnificent Birla Mandir sitting atop Naubat Pahad, just about a half hour car ride away from Golconda Fort. Dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara, this stunning white marble structure (nearly 2,000 tons of it carted from faraway Rajasthan!) is not only famous for its serene, calming atmosphere but also for its beautiful architecture that artfully mixes Rajasthani, Utkala and Dravidian styles together. Take the elevator up to the temple and enjoy beautiful views of the city and the Hussain Sagar Lake before calling it a day.

  • Timings : 7.00 am – 12.00 pm; 3.00 pm – 9.00 pm
  • Ticket Price : Free entry
  • Best Eats Close by : Hot coffees at Sarovar Coffee Shop, delish vegetarian fare at Sukh Sagara

Day 3 in Hyderabad

7. nehru zoological park.

#7 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

#7 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

Spread over 380-acres, the Nehru Zoological Park or the Hyderabad Zoo as it is fondly known is one of the best places to visit in Hyderabad on a 3-day trip, especially if you are traveling with kids. You’ll be forgiven the crusty old fort and the museum for a few hours at the zoo watching tigers, hippos, leopards, birds, reptiles and their ilk going about their business in enclosures that closely mimic their real habitat. Normally, it would require a whole day to see the entire zoo, but you can cut ahead with a quick spin on an hour long ride aboard a battery operated vehicle that takes you around the main enclosures. If you have more time, take the canter safari – we promise all-round delight!

  • Timings : 8.00 am – 5.00 pm
  • Ticket Price : ₹20 for adults, ₹15 for kids under 12; separate charges for Toy Train and Safaris, battery operated vehicles should you opt for one
  • Best Eats Close by : Authentic Hyderabadi haleem and paya at Java Green, home-style Hyderabadi dishes at Hotel Shaheen and yummy kulfis at Kulfi Time

8. Mecca Masjid

#8 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

#8 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

Constructed between 16 th & 17 th centuries by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, the Mecca Masjid is one of the largest mosques in the world and among the oldest in India. A magnificent structure, it is revered by followers and tourists alike. If you only have 3 days in Hyderabad, spend some time to go see this imposing building for its brilliant domed roof – mentioned by the French traveler Jean-Baptiste Tavernier, who witnessed part of its construction, in his travelogue saying, “it is about 50 years since they began to build a splendid pagoda in the town which will be the grandest in all of India when it is completed.” Revel in its cascading fountain close to the entrance, its decorated façade that includes intricately carved arches and minarets. Non-Muslims are not allowed inside the mosque, but you can admire other features like the serene pool and marble tombs that are the final resting spot for some of the former rulers.

  • Timings : 4.00 am – 9.30 pm
  • Best Eats Close by : Special dum chicken biryani followed by Irani chai at Farasha Café and Bakery, Mirchi ka Salan and biryani at the no-frills, quick service Hotel Rumaan

9. Hussain Sagar Lake and Lumbini Park

#9 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

#9 of 9 Best Places To Visit In Hyderabad In 3 Days

The road skirting Hyderabad’s exceedingly impressive Hussain Sagar Lake is called the Necklace Road when lit up at night (because it resembles a pearl necklace) and is the best way to enjoy this magnificent man-made lake built by Ibrahim Qutub Quli Shah in 1563. Ice cream carts, walkers and families with children dot the sidewalk along the lake that is dominated by an imposing statue of Gautam Buddha. Taking a drive along the lake and visiting the adjoining Lumbini Park (that gives you close access to the statue) is one of the best Hyderabad experiences on a 3-day trip.

Hussain Sagar Lake

  • Timings : 8.00 am – 10.00 pm
  • Best Eats Close by : Ice creams from the local ice cream carts or a wonderful dinner at Bidri located in the Marriott Hotel right opposite the lake

Lumbini Park

  • Timings : 9.00am – 9.00 pm
  • Ticket Price : ₹20 for adults, ₹10 for kids
  • Best Eats Close by : Try lunch at The Waterfront on the banks of the Hussain Sagar Lake

Looking for more places to visit in Hyderabad in 3 days? Head to the glittering Ramoji Film City about 30 km from the city center and spend the day (yup! That’s how long it’s going to take!), roaming in the huge gardens, gawking at the opulent film sets and maybe even watch a film shoot in progress. Recorded as the largest film studio complex in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records, Ramoji Film City is equipped with theatres for daily shows, several restaurants and even a hotel, should you want to spend the night. Another place to visit in Hyderabad on a short trip is the Nagole Lake where the top features is the ‘moss garden’…try walking barefoot to feel nature’s splurge!

trip for 3 days from hyderabad

3-Day Pondicherry Itinerary from Hyderabad

Photo of Puja Tibrewal

To keep our trip within our budget, we opted for trains and buses instead of expensive flights. We boarded the Charminar Express (12760) departing from Hyderabad Deccan station at 6 pm and scheduled to arrive at Chennai Egmore at 7 am. However, our train was delayed by approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, arriving at 9:15 am.

After arriving at the station, we had a hearty breakfast at Sangeetha Veg restaurant, conveniently located across from the station entrance. The food was both delicious and affordable, setting the tone for an enjoyable day ahead.

After our breakfast, we made our way to the bustling CMBT bus stand to embark on our journey to Pondicherry. With ample bus options available, we boarded the bus at 11:30 am. The comfortable ride allowed us to relax and enjoy the scenic countryside, as we rolled towards our destination. We reached Pondicherry at 3:45 pm.

Upon arriving at the bus stand, the first thing is to secure a rented bike, readily available across the street. However, due to the peak season rush, only one bike remained, and the rental vendor charged an inflated price of 600 rupees, exceeding the usual fare. It's important to note that bike rental services in Pondicherry have a peculiar practice of retaining your original identification documents until the bike's return.

After securing our rented bike, we checked into our home stay, Rainbow Cottages Beach Home Stay. Its prime location, within walking distance to the tranquil and uncrowded beach, was a perfect choice. To refresh ourselves from the long journey, we headed to Auro Beach, just 2.5 kilometers away.

The rest of the day was spent basking in the tranquility of Rock Beach. The gentle rhythm of the sea, occasionally interrupted by the crashing of waves, and the serene glow of the moon painted a breathtaking backdrop, offering a much-needed respite from the daily hustle and bustle.

The next morning, we welcomed the sun with a visit to the beach near our homestay. After soaking in the morning serenity, we set off for Svaram, a unique sound garden known for its captivating acoustic experience located in Auroville. En route, we had local delicacies like appam, dosa, and pongal at a nearby restaurant. The entrance fee for Svaram is a nominal ₹120 per person, and the guided tour through the sound garden is an immersive sensory experience.

We then made our way to the Matrimandir, the spiritual heart of Auroville. The tranquil walk from the museum to the Matrimandir takes approximately 10-15 minutes through a serene pathway lined with lush greenery. For those who prefer a quicker journey, auto-rickshaws are readily available.

We spent the remainder of the evening strolling through the Auroville and Pondicherry local markets.

Our next day began with an exciting boat ride through the mangrove forests. Several boat operators offer mangrove tours near Pondy Marina Beach. We chose Marina Catamaran Adventures, which provides shared boat rides for ₹500 per person, covering 3-4 locations, including the mangrove forests. The overall experience was enjoyable and enlightening. Afterward, we spent the rest of the morning exploring the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a magnificent church adorned with stunning stained-glass windows.

In the afternoon, we went for a walk to the French Quarters, renowned for their vibrant colonial architecture and charming boutiques. The picturesque streets provide an ideal backdrop for capturing memorable photographs.

We spent the evening, strolling along the Promenade Beach, which offers a diverse array of cafes and restaurants. We had the snacks from local vendors while enjoying the captivating sea breeze and the mesmerizing sunset.

Pondicherry

On our fifth day, we returned the rented bike and secured a bus back to Chennai. Our train from Egmore station to Hyderabad was scheduled for 5:45 pm

Rental Bike Caution:  Exercise caution when renting a bike, as mechanical issues can disrupt your travel plans. We encountered bike repairs that consumed 2-3 hours daily, resulting in an additional expense of approximately ₹500. The rental provider from Kifa Rental supplied us with a faulty bike and refused to reimburse us for the repairs we made.

Limited Vegetarian Fare: Vegetarian options may be limited in Pondicherry. As a vegetarian, I primarily relied on local cuisine like dosa and appam for breakfast, with pizza as an occasional evening meal.

Varied Local Interactions: My experience with locals in Pondicherry was not particularly warm or welcoming. However, this may be an individual experience, and you may encounter different interactions.

3 Day Hyderabad Itinerary

Hyderabad itinerary day 1.

We arrived late in the afternoon on day 1 of our weekend getaway! After a quick stop at our hotel, we headed to view one of the iconic tourist spots in the city – Hussain Sagar (Lake)

Hussain Sagar is a heart shaped lake built by Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah in the 1500s. It is spread across an area of 5.7 square kilometers and is fed by River Musi.

A large statue of the Gautama Buddha stands on Gibraltar Rock in the middle of the lake. It is quite a scene to view this statue from across the road, in the evenings.

This is an image from the pedestal on which the statue of Buddha stood. You can see the 24 chakra/wheel in the middle.

After a visit to the Lake, we went out for some drinks and dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, followed by some local cuisines (biriyani take away)

There are tons of places in Hyderabad where you can have a relaxing and relishing dinner.

Hyderabad’s nightlife is decent as well – Liquids, Bottles and Chimney, Kismet, Altitude, The Club, Rain, etc are a few names to dance away your night!

Hyderabad Itinerary  Day 2

After a quick breakfast, we started our second day in Hyderabad.

This day was packed with sightseeing adventure. First we headed to the Golkonda Fort.

Hyderabad is the capital of southern India's state of Telangana. Hyderabad has a legacy of the royal Nizams and their beautiful architecture, amazing food, commercial history and welcoming people. Read this article to plan your itinerary to Hyderabad, India

Golkonda Fort was the capital of the ancient kingdom of Golconda which flourished in the 14th to 16th century. The kingdom of Golkonda rose into prominence in the 1100’s. Legend has it that a shepherd boy found an idol in the area and then king built a mud fort around it and it came to be known as Shepherd’s Hill.

This area eventually became a heated battleground between many dynasties. In the end Islamic Bahmani Sultanate won and made the fort a seat for their capital.

The Mughal prince Aurangzeb started to lay siege on the fort of Golconda, with the intent of claiming Hydebarad, the wealthy capital of the Qutub Shahi dynasty. The fortress proved to be as impregnable as its reputation claimed. Until now (after almost 800 years), the fort still stands as one of Hyderabad’s greatest architectural wonders.

One can view the entire city from the top of the hill. There are ample areas to walk around and great areas to relax, sit around in the gardens.

One of it’s greatest engineering marvels is the fantastic acoustic effects: one clap at a certain point below the entrance dome can be heard at the highest point of the pavilion almost a kilometer away.

People usually spend around 2 hours in the fort. There are photography events conducted here as well.Golconda Fort Timings: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM IST To enter the fort you are required to pay a minimal Golconda fort entry fee of Rs.5 ; it is Rs. 100 foreign tourists. You have to pay extra if you are planning to take your camera inside.

Next we headed to the  Taramati Baradari.

Taramati Baradari is a historical pavilion built as part of Ibrahim Bagh, a Persian style garden built during the reign of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah.

Entrance to Taramati Baradari

There is a love story associated with Taramati Baradari. It is believed that the then Sultan (prince) was smitten by a courtesan’s voice and he built this structure so that he can hear her singing from the Golkonda Fort (located about 1.6 kilometers away). That courtesan’s name was Taramati.

Enter the hall through any of its 12 doors and imagine the young Taramati singing here in the 17th century.

Taramati Baradari pavilion has 12 doorways and was constructed to allow cross ventilation. Currently, the open pavilion also includes an air-cooled theatre with capacity of 500 people, open-air auditorium with capacity of 1600 people, a banquet Hall with capacity of 250, and multi-cuisine restaurant.

We spent about 2 hours here, lazying around and taking pictures.

After that we went to Laad Bazar to get a glimpse of the local Hyderabadi market and to eat more of the famous Biriyani

Laad Bazar is a famous market area in Hyderabad. Its located near the Charminar (which is my stop for tomorrow). Laad Bazar is known for its bangles, pearls and other jewellery

I mentioned about “ biriyani ”  a few times in this blog post. Its a rice dish, made with meat (chicken or goat), yogurt and spices. You should try the authentic biriyani from Hyderabad (there is vegetarian biriyani available too)

Final day in Hyderabad. And we left the best for the last.

The fifth ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah built the Charminar in 1591.

The English translation of the words Chār and Minar  means “Four Towers”. The towers on four corners are ornate minarets attached and supported by four grand arches that open into the streets. Charminar’s architectural style is Islamic and the structure is made up of limestone, granite and marble. You can go to the upper floor of the charminar by taking 149 winding steps leading to the top. There is a mosque located on the second floor as well.

There are many theories as to why the Charminar was built. However, it is widely accepted that Charminar was built at the center of the city, to commemorate the eradication of plague. Many believe it was built to commemorate the beginning of the second Islamic millennium year.

The event was celebrated far and wide in the Islamic world, thus Qutb Shah founded the city of Hyderabad to celebrate the event and commemorate it with the construction of this building.

We spent about 4 hours at this location which included window shopping in the market area as well.

Very interesting post and lovely photos.

Thank you Kim 🙂 Glad you liked it!

Great post! I loved Golkonda Fort! It looks massive and beautiful. And I love your little history lessons along the way. Just puts things into perspective for someone how has never been there before. Does this area have their own special cuisine different to the rest of India?

Thanks for the comment Amy! Hyderabadi food is different from many different parts of India. The cuisines that originated in the north, south or east and west of India is so different and delicious. But you will be able to order some of the popular dishes from anywhere in the country like Butter Chicken or Biriyani

very detailed post, I have heard so much about LaaD Bazaar Bangles and Pearls of Hyderabad Can’t wait to see this beautiful city soon

This is such detailed post with all the information I have heard so much about Laad Bazar, cant wait to visit it soon

I would love to visit Hyderabad, not least for the food that is known specifically from this place, like Hyderabadi-style biryani etc. Love the green backdrop of Golkonda Fort, looks like a great place to explore and very photogenic. I would definitely want to hit that Laad bazar too!

Wow these buildings in Hyderabad are incredible! India is on my list of places to visit and I hope to visit some day soon. Beautiful photos too

Thank you! Hope to visit India soon, would love to know your thoughts!

Being a Hyderabadi, it’s good to see that visitors have a great time exploring Hyderabad. But hey, you missed out on quite a few iconic places like the Salarjung museum and Ramoji Film city. I would recommend you to visit Hyderabad once more and cover these places as well. I loved a few of your photographs and how you tried to visit so many places in your limited time. Great write up.

Of course, I will have to. I was there for such a short time (and was also visiting friends), so there are a few things I missed out! Thanks for commenting xoxo

Advance travel planning and early visa application are important. If you plan to apply for a nonimmigrant visa to come to the United States as a temporary visitor, please review the current wait time for an interview using the tool below. Not all visa applications can be completed on the day of the interview; please read the information below for more details .

Check the estimated wait time for a nonimmigrant visa interview appointment at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

Note: Please check the individual Embassy or Consulate website to determine if your case is eligible for a waiver of the in-person interview.

Applicants scheduling visa appointments in a location different from their place of residence should check post websites for nonresident wait times.

Select a U.S. Embassy or Consulate:

Global Visa Wait Times

Wait Time for Interview

The estimated wait time to receive a nonimmigrant visa interview appointment at a U.S. embassy or consulate and is based on workload and staffing and can vary from week to week. The information provided is an estimate and does not guarantee the availability of an appointment.

Wait Time for Interview Waiver

Wait times for applicants eligible for Interview Waiver are applicable only for locations where applicants schedule appointments to submit their passport and any required documents to a U.S. embassy or consulate. The wait time estimate does not account for the time required for a consular officer to adjudicate the application nor mailing time of passports or other documents. Refer to the website of the Embassy or Consulate Visa Section where you will apply to determine your eligibility for Interview Waiver and for instructions for submitting a nonimmigrant visa application. Note that applicants must be a national or resident of the country where they are applying to be eligible to apply via Interview Waiver.

Qualifications for an Expedited Interview Appointment

Consular sections overseas may be able to expedite your interview date if there is an urgent, unforeseen situation such as a funeral, medical emergency, or school start date. The process to request an expedited nonimmigrant visa interview varies by location. You should refer to the instructions on the website of the Embassy or Consulate Visa Section  where you will interview, or on their online appointment scheduling site. You will need to provide proof of the need for an earlier appointment.

In all cases : You must first submit the online visa application form (DS-160), pay the application fee, and schedule the first available interview appointment. Only at this point will a consular section consider your request for an expedited appointment.

Note: Travel for the purpose of attending weddings and graduation ceremonies, assisting pregnant relatives, participating in an annual business/academic/professional conference, or enjoying last-minute tourism does not qualify for expedited appointments. For such travel, please schedule a regular visa appointment well in advance.

These estimates do not include time required for administrative processing, which may affect some applications. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case.

There are only two possible outcomes for U.S. visa applications. The consular officer will either issue or refuse the visa. If a visa applicant has not established that he or she is eligible for a visa, the consular officer must refuse that application. However, some refused visa applications may require further administrative processing. When administrative processing is required, the consular officer will inform the applicant at the end of the interview. The duration of the administrative processing will vary based on the individual circumstances of each case. At the conclusion of the administrative processing period, the consular officer might conclude that an applicant is now qualified for the visa for which he or she applied. The officer may also conclude that the applicant remains ineligible for a visa. Visa applicants are reminded to apply early for their visas, well in advance of the anticipated travel date.

Important Notice:   Except in cases of emergency travel (i.e. serious illnesses, injuries, or deaths in your immediate family), before making inquiries about status of administrative processing, applicants should wait at least 180 days from the date of interview or submission of supplemental documents, whichever is later.

About Visa Processing Wait Times – Nonimmigrant Visa Applicants

Information about nonimmigrant visa wait times for interviews and visa processing time frames are shown on this website, as well as on U.S. Embassy and Consulate websites worldwide. It should be noted that the “Wait Times for a Nonimmigrant Visa to be Processed” information by country does not include time required for administrative processing. Processing wait time also does not include the time required to return the passport to applicants, by either courier services or the local mail system.

In addition, it is important to thoroughly review all information on the specific  Embassy or Consulate Visa Section website  for local procedures and instructions, such as how to make an interview appointment. Embassy and Consulate websites will also explain any additional procedures for students, exchange visitors and those persons who need an earlier visa interview appointment.

About Wait Times

* Calendar days refers to every day of the week, including days when embassies are closed (such as weekends and holidays).

† Work days refers only to days when the embassy is open and does not include weekends and holidays.

‡ A, G, and NATO applications are excluded from these wait times, as they are processed separately.

International women's day 2024 hero banner purple

This International Women’s Day, 8 March 2024, join the United Nations in celebrating under the theme Invest in women: Accelerate progress .

The world is facing many crises, ranging from geopolitical conflicts to soaring poverty levels and the escalating impacts of climate change. These challenges can only be addressed by solutions that empower women. By investing in women, we can spark change and speed the transition towards a healthier, safer, and more equal world for all.

Needed per year to achieve gender equality

An additional $360 billion is needed per year to achieve gender equality.

20% to boost GDP per capita could be achieved by closing the gender gap

Closing gender gaps in employment could boost GDP per capita by 20 per cent.

300 million jobs created by 2030 by investing in care services

Closing gaps in care and expanding services with decent jobs could spark almost 300 million jobs by 2035.

If current trends continue, more than  342 million women and girls could be living extreme poverty  by 2030. To ensure women’s needs and priorities are considered, governments must prioritize gender-responsive financing and increase public spending on essential services and social protection.

Policymakers must also value, recognize, and account for the vital contribution women make to economies worldwide through paid and unpaid care work.  Women spend around three times more time on unpaid care work than men and if these activities were assigned a monetary value they would account for more than 40 per cent of GDP .

Investing in women and championing gender equality turbocharges a future where everyone in society can thrive, creating a world of boundless opportunity and empowerment for all.

As the chair of the Fortune 500 company Reliance Industries, the elder Ambani has an estimated net worth of $111 billion, according to Bloomberg's Billionaires Index . That makes him the richest person in Asia and the 11th-richest person in the world.

The younger Ambani is set to wed Radhika Merchant, the daughter of Encore Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant, in July. The couple's three-day pre-wedding party started on Friday in Gujarat, India.

Here's everything we know about the festivities.

The couple hosted a communal dinner for 51,000 people.

On Wednesday, Ambani and his bride-to-be hosted a communal dinner for 51,000 local residents in Gujarat, The Hindu reported.

The event took place in the Jogwad village, near the Reliance Township in Jamnagar, The Hindu reported.

According to the outlet, serving food to the community during auspicious family occasions has long been a tradition of the Ambanis.

Rihanna performed her first full-length show in 8 years at the pre-wedding bash.

Rihanna took to the stage barefoot to perform in a lime green and pink local-inspired outfit at the pre-wedding event on Friday night.

She performed 19 songs, including hits such as "Umbrella," "Diamonds," and "Work," NME reported.

"I'm here tonight in honor of Anant and Radhika. Thank you for having me here. God bless your union. I wish you all the best. Congratulations," she said to the couple, who at one point joined her on stage.

As she departed from Jamnagar airport, Rihanna told reporters : "The show was the best. I haven't done a real show in eight years."

Reports estimate that the singer had been paid between $6 and $9 million for her performance.

Rihanna had previously been spotted arriving in Jamnagar with ASAP Rocky . In the clip, she can be seen exiting a building and getting onto a cart.

A fan also uploaded an Instagram video of multiple wooden crates being transported out of an airport arrival hall, with the caption, "Rihanna's luggage has arrived in India."

"What she bring with her? A folding house?" one comment under the post said, to which Rihanna responded, "The stage couldn't fit in my carryon."

The Ambanis have had megastars perform at weddings before.

In 2018 Beyoncé performed at Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal's pre-wedding ceremony. Isha Ambani is the family patriarch's only daughter.

In 2019, Coldplay's front man, Chris Martin, and The Chainsmokers entertained guests attending Akash Ambani — the soon-to-be-wed Ambani's older brother — and Shloka Mehta's pre-wedding bash in Switzerland. The couple also had Adam Levine serenade them at their post-wedding bash.

Some 1,200 guests have been invited to the celebrations.

Some of the world's most rich and famous have been pictured at the bash, including Ivanka Trump and Mark Zuckerberg.

The extensive guest list for the weekend includes celebrities, billionaires, and tech leaders such as Bill Gates and Sundar Pichai.

Disney CEO Bob Iger is also likely to be on the list of invitees, Reuters reported.

Reliance Industries and Disney announced an $8.5 billion merger of their India TV and streaming media assets earlier this week.

The itinerary for the weekend includes a cocktail party and a trail featuring live animals.

trip for 3 days from hyderabad

According to an event itinerary obtained by The Times , there was a cocktail party on the first day.

Video published on social media shows the ornate venue festooned in flowers and brimming full of A-list guests, who were treated to a drone show in the night sky.

On the second day, guests were taken to the Reliance animal rescue center for "a walk on the wild side," The Times said. The center is the groom's pet project .

In the evening, guests attended a "mela rouge," The Times added. "Mela" can refer to a fair or a festival.

The last day included a "tusker trails" event where guests could spend the afternoon "surrounded by the wonders of nature" — including over 200 elephants, 300 big cats, and 120 reptiles previously at risk of being sold or poached, per The Times.

Guests have been given a nine-page document detailing the dress code for the various events.

On top of the nine-page dress code, hair stylists and makeup artists were also available for guests, The Times reported.

The dress code includes a "jungle fever" theme and "comfortable shoes" for the visit to the animal rescue center on the second day, and "dazzling" Indian outfits for the mela, per The Times.
