LipperT Equa Flex Suspension

Trailer Suspension Solutions

RV (recreational vehicle) owners may need a trailer suspension upgrade for a few different reasons, depending on their specific situation and needs.

Firstly, the suspension on a trailer is responsible for supporting the weight of the trailer and its contents, as well as providing a smooth ride for the occupants. If an RV owner is carrying a lot of weight in their trailer, such as heavy equipment, furniture, or water tanks, it can put a strain on the suspension system. Over time, this can cause the suspension to wear out or become damaged, resulting in a rougher ride and potentially unsafe driving conditions.

Secondly, some RV owners may want to upgrade their trailer suspension to improve the overall performance of their vehicle. A better suspension system can provide better stability and handling while driving, making it easier to maneuver the trailer on the road. It can also reduce the amount of wear and tear on the tires, which can lead to longer tire life and lower maintenance costs.

Thirdly, if an RV owner frequently travels on rough or uneven terrain, such as gravel roads or dirt trails, a more robust suspension system may be necessary to handle the added stress and prevent damage to the trailer. Upgrading the suspension can also help to prevent damage to the RV’s interior components, such as appliances or furniture, which can be jostled around during bumpy rides.

Ultimately, whether an RV owner needs a trailer suspension upgrade depends on their specific needs and usage of the vehicle. If in doubt, it’s always best to consult with a professional mechanic or RV service provider to determine whether an upgrade is necessary or beneficial.

Here are a few suggestions from The Smart RVer Podcast with Eric Stark.

EXPERIENCE SMOOTHER TOWING WITH AN UPGRADED SUSPENSION

Tired of dealing with trailer suspension noise or unreliable components? Upgrade today to Dexter’s red E-Z Flex® as it continues to outlast the competition. Paired with Dexter heavy-duty shackle links, customers can ride smoothly and carefree with an upgraded suspension.

The E-Z Flex core has been scientifically formulated to provide optimal dampening characteristics, resulting in less transfer of road shock and ride equalization – protecting your valuable cargo. Trailer Suspension systems without this hanger-to-pivot-point relationship sacrifice the ability of the axles to equalize over uneven terrain. During travel, the red E-Z Flex System continuously pivots and compresses to isolate and absorb damaging road shocks before they are sent to the trailer frame and its contents.

Let your suspension upgrade speak for itself as everyone sees your red E-Z Flex equalizer. Quality and design unmatched by our competition, E-Z Flex will provide a smooth ride for years to come. Available in retrofit kits or directly from the manufacturer as a factory installed option.

RED E-Z FLEX SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE The red E-Z Flex System provides up to an 80% reduction in acceleration forces on the trailer frame versus a standard equalizer when tested over railroad tracks at 30 mph. Red E-Z Flex significantly outperforms all other competitors in the same road test. The result? A smoother, more protective ride for your trailer and its cargo.

Protect Your Investment, Cargo, and Peace of Mind

With the Road Armor System integrated into your trailer, comfortless rides are one less thing for you to worry about while you travel. With its anti-shock technology, road shock and vibrations transferred from both the leading and trailing leaf springs are dampened, resulting in less chucking and a smoother ride. Engineered to obtain maximum absorption, Road Armor was designed to offer RVers and trailer owners a superior suspension enhancement solution that can be added as an easy aftermarket upgrade and is also offered as a great substitution for torsion axles. Included in the kit are two tandem equalizers, greaseable bronze bushings that improve wear and tear, and automotive-grade fasteners that provide exceptional corrosion protection and extend overall product life. Travel with confidence knowing that your trailer is being safeguarded with equipment that protects from every angle.

360 Degrees of Protection

How does it work? The patent pending design incorporates a single pivoting arm that is permanently engaged with the trailer axles’ leaf springs. This allows Road Armor to constantly absorb and dampen road shock whether it is coming from the leading or trailing spring, utilizing the trailer’s natural motion. Once road shock and vibrations are encountered, they are transferred to one of two customized durometer rubber shock absorbers. Competing products use rubber compounds with the consistency of a hockey puck, which does little to absorb anything and transfers this shock directly into the RV’s chassis and concurrently into the sidewall. How are 360 degrees of protection attainable? Simple, each side of the Road Armor Equalizer has 3 inches of total vertical travel capability. When the lead leaf spring encounters road shock, it will kick the Road Armor’s lead side vertically up to one and a half inches, while the trailing side will push down up to one and a half inches. The adverse reaction happens on the opposite side of the Road Armor Equalizer when the trailing axle incurs the same road vibration. That’s 360 degrees and 6 total inches of unparalleled protection!

Which network is best for international roaming?

Joe Minihane, Contributor

Mobile phone roaming

Some networks offer inclusive roaming in countries outside the EU, while others don't. What's more, if you're canny and choose your network wisely you can even get inclusive roaming in destinations much farther afield.

Which network is best for roaming?

That largely depends on where you like to holiday. We'll be looking at the following providers based on their costs, data allowances, and general roaming policies:

Virgin Media

Tesco mobile.

At the time of writing, Three’s Feel at Home scheme covers 71 worldwide locations, more than any other network. And winningly, it includes really popular destinations, such as the USA, Australia and Hong Kong.

However, a lot of these destinations are only available on a Three Advanced plan, which is usually more expensive than a regular Three deal.

Typically, Advanced plan contracts work out at around £3 or £4 a month more than an Essential plan. But, in addition to Three’s Feel at Home inclusive roaming scheme, an Advanced plan will also get you  Go Binge  which allows you to use select streaming services without eating into your data.

Still, if you normally travel in the EU and don’t use streaming services on the go, you might be better off saving some money and going with an Essential plan instead.

Similarly, EE’s Feel at Home scheme aims to cover 80% of the destinations EE customers visit. But it’s only available on 4GEE Max plans, which generally cost a lot more.

For the extra outlay, a 4GEE Max plan will also get you EE’s fastest 4G speeds and a TNT Sports subscription for the duration of your contract. But again, you’ll have to weigh up whether or not those benefits are worth paying more for.

If you’re planning a trip abroad and you’re still locked into a contract, you could get a one-month SIM-only deal or a pay-as-you-go SIM plan that comes with inclusive roaming for your destination.

If, for example, you’re heading off to the USA for a fortnight and you’re currently on an O2 pay monthly contract, you have a couple of options. You could pay £4.99 a day for an O2 bolt-on that’ll give you 120 texts, 120 minutes and all the data you’ll need. Which would cost you a total of £69.86 over your two-week holiday.

Or you could get a one-month Three Advanced plan SIM that’ll give you inclusive roaming in the US. At the time of writing, you can get 600 minutes, unlimited texts plus a generous 8GB of data for just £14 on a  one-month rolling contract . And so long as you cancel your contract with 30 days’ notice, this deal works out at £55.86 cheaper than using a bolt-on.

Below we take a look at each network in turn to see what's on offer.

Compare network roaming plans

Roaming policies vary wildly from network to network. So, how do you know whether you'll be able to use your phone when you're abroad and how much it'll cost you?

Luckily, we've done all the leg work for you in this handy network-by-network guide.

This information was correct at the time of writing.

A roller coaster in the ocean: What Carnival Cruise Line's BOLT ride is like

three travel bolt on

As I hurtled toward the Caribbean Sea , I felt a pang of regret: maybe riding a roller coaster on a cruise ship wasn’t the best idea for someone with a fear of heights.

I clutched the handles on my motorcycle-like car tight, questioning why I had committed to not just one but two laps around the course on Carnival Cruise Line’s BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster. But a few seconds in, something changed.

Surrounded by open blue water at the top of the line’s newest ship, Carnival Jubilee , I was taken with the view – so much so that the knot in my stomach I developed while waiting in line all but dissolved. The ride was fast but mostly smooth (though on one uphill section of the track, I felt myself lift off the seat a bit, but my seat belt did its job). BOLT reaches up to 40 mph, but guests can control their speed.

Zipping around the ship’s funnel, I forced myself to keep my eyes open the whole time (the opposite of my usual roller coaster coping strategy). Even the best theme parks I’ve visited haven’t had settings quite like that, and I didn’t want to miss it.

Story continues below.

Who can ride BOLT?

Passengers must meet height and weight requirements (they have to be between 4 feet 4 inches and 6 feet 5 inches tall, for instance). Children under 12 have to ride with someone 15 or older. Cars can accommodate two riders.

Guests with “structural body damage” cannot ride, according to a sign posted at BOLT’s entrance. "The sign pertains to physical impairments impeding guests' safety," a Carnival spokesperson said in an email. "For instance, a guest who cannot hold on to the handlebars would not be able to ride BOLT."

The roller coaster is also not recommended for guests with other medical conditions or limitations, including high blood pressure; neck, back, or joint problems; or those who are pregnant.

How much does BOLT cost?

The roller coaster costs $15 per person. Carnival also offers a family pack, offering three rides for the price of two. Each ride includes two laps around the track.

What other activities does Carnival Jubilee have?

BOLT debuted Carnival’s Mardi Gras ship, in 2021 and was billed as the first roller coaster at sea, but the ride is only one of many activities onboard Jubilee:

◾ Lone Star Tailgate: Jubilee, which sails out of Galveston, leans into its Texas roots (there’s even a Texas star on its bow). So, it’s only fitting that the ship hosts a Lone Star Tailgate on every voyage. The deck party is divided into four quarters (a la football), with a cattle roping competition – using steer horns attached to hay bales – a race on stick horses, live music highlighting Texas artists and more.

◾ Carnival Kitchen: Food is a major draw for many cruise passengers, and Carnival Kitchen allows them to try on a chef’s apron – literally. The venue features a range of culinary arts classes taught by the line’s staff, from pasta making to sushi 101. While the classes are available on other ships, the line debuted a new option featuring recipes from the line’s Chief Culinary Officer, Emeril Lagasse, on Jubilee.During my sailing, we made dishes like Shrimp and Okra Gumbo with Filé and New Orleans Pasta. Even for me, whose greatest culinary achievement is making scrambled eggs for breakfast, the steps were easy to follow. Plus, we got to enjoy the fruits of our labor at the end.Prices range from $45-$65 per person, depending on the class.

◾ Kids programming: Jubilee, like many other Carnival ships, also has plenty of kid-centric programming and amenities, from the Dr. Seuss-themed library, Dr. Seuss Bookville to Build-A-Bear Workshop at Sea and The Ultimate Playground where BOLT is located (think mini-golf, a ropes course and more).Jubilee’s new Currents zone features Seaquest: A Fun Sub Adventure. The video display utilizes the space’s wave-like LED ceiling and LED portals to show viewers to places like the underwater Carnival Seacation resort and the kingdom of The Golden Mermaid (also the name of a new lounge on board). At other times, passengers can change the scenes displayed via a touch screen – such as arctic waters with orcas and penguins and a shark cave – and create their own fish, which will swim into view on the portals.

A parked RV, potentially abiding by the 3/3/3 RV road trip rule

Does the 3/3/3 RV Road Trip Rule Actually Work?

Whether you’re an RV veteran or are planning your first RV road trip, you might have heard of the 3/3/3 rule . This popular road trip rule can supposedly make an RV trip safer and less irritating. However, does the 3/3/3 rule work, and is it something you should use on your next adventure?

What is the 3/3/3 rule?

A parked RV, potentially abiding by the 3/3/3 RV road trip rule

Drivin’ & Vibin’ explains the details of the 3/3/3 rule for RV road trips . Generally speaking, the rule features three “3’s” that dictate how far a person should drive in a day, how frequently they should stop, and when they should arrive at their destination for the day.

The first “3” refers to 300 miles, the maximum distance the rule states you should travel in your RV in one day. The idea behind having this limit is that the moods of drivers and passengers get worse throughout the day as they spend long hours on the road. Three hundred miles is a reasonable travel distance while keeping everyone in decent spirits.

The second “3” means you should find a place to stop once every three hours. Stopping gives everyone in the car a chance to stretch, refuel, and plan for the trip’s next leg. Stopping like this can leave everyone feeling refreshed and ready for more driving.

The last “3” means 3:00 pm. This may be the most controversial part of the 3/3/3 rule, and it means that you should plan to stop driving for the day at 3:00 pm. RV drivers might disapprove of this rule, as there is still plenty of daylight left this early in the day, but stopping at 3:00 pm gives you time to unwind and enjoy your destination for the day. Resting today means feeling rejuvenated for tomorrow.

Reasons why the 3/3/3 rule might work

Vacations in an RV should be fun, and the 3/3/3 rule is designed to make RV trips more fun and less stressful. In this sense, there is validity to the 3/3/3 rule. One reason it might work is that it helps decrease drivers’ fatigue risk. The longer you drive, the more your muscles might ache, making driving significantly less pleasant. Frequent, planned stops give you time to relax so that you don’t push yourself too hard.

Stopping for the day at 3:00 pm might seem excessively early, but this could make a trip safer. Visibility is lower when driving at night, so being at a destination before it gets dark could prevent accidents. Also, drivers have likely been driving all day by 3:00 pm, and even with frequent stops, they are probably experiencing some degree of fatigue by this time. It is a good idea to find a place to park so that you can relax and recover for the next day’s part of the trip. Plus, by this point, you might already be close to the 3/3/3 rule’s limit of 300 miles for the day.

Should you use the 3/3/3 rule?

Using the 3/3/3 rule could make road trips feel more like relaxing vacations instead of stressful challenges. If you have an RV and are interested in the 3/3/3 rule, it is certainly worth trying the next time you hit the road. Of course, the limits of the rule don’t have to be set in stone, and they can be changed to best fit your situation. Maybe you will need to drive 350 miles daily to reach a particular destination or drive slightly past 3:00 pm, which is perfectly OK.

I pay $18 a month for a membership that gets me 50% off stays at new luxury hotels and a free coffee drink every day

  • I paid $216 ($18 a month) for a one-year membership with Ennismore's Dis-loyalty  travel program .
  • The membership comes with half-off discounts for stays at select new hotels and free coffee drinks.
  • I think the membership is worth it so far, especially since I live near a participating hotel.

Insider Today

When I came across Ennismore's Dis-loyalty travel membership program, the deals seemed almost too good to be true.

For $216 a year or $18 a month, members are promised deals on hotel stays , discounted meals, and free coffee at Ennismore partner brands.

I was looking to add a little bit of luxury and adventure to my life, so I bought a membership in January.

Here's what I think so far.

The program offers discounted hotel stays — some 50% off

The Dis-Loyalty program offers discounts across 10 hotel brands (80 locations) that Ennismore has partnered with, so far.

One of the most enticing parts of the deal is the opportunity to get 50% off a stay at a brand-new hotel if I stay within the first three months of its opening.

I haven't been able to use that perk yet, but I'm currently planning a trip to visit The Hoxton Vienna, which is set to open in April. I'm excited to use my discount to book the hotel's most spacious room for just $120 a night.

Nine other partner hotels are set to open in London, Jakarta, Edinburgh, Perth, Nice, and Copenhagen this year.

I can also get discounts at existing partner hotels — 20% off my first visit and 10% off all returning visits. But I like that the half-off stays incentivize me to try new places .

The membership also comes with a free barista-made drink every day

In addition to hotels, Ennismore has partnership deals with over 170 restaurants, bars, and coffee shops.

Members get 10% off at all of them, but my favorite perk is getting one complimentary barista-crafted drink a day if I visit select spots.

So far, I've gotten a free matcha latte , oat-milk latte, and ginger-turmeric tea. I just let the barista know I'm a disloyalty member and show my membership ID.

Even if I only end up getting four free drinks a month, that essentially pays for the membership.

While I plan future trips, I'm using my membership locally to get the most out of a luxurious coworking space

I live in New York , so I thought the perfect way to start using my membership was to visit The Hoxton Williamsburg.

The hotel feels like a hub of trendiness and cool vibes. There's a grand wooden staircase that leads down to the lobby, which acts almost like a chic coworking space .

I'm glad I live near a Hoxton, out of any of the properties, because the hotel has "open house" lobbies at all of its locations, meaning anyone can use the space to work. The lobby fills up quickly, so I recommend getting there early if you want a spot.

Being able to work from a trendy spot while using my membership to get free coffee and dining discounts is pretty great.

At other properties, redeeming any Dis-loyalty offers should grant you similar access to public spaces in the hotel.

I already feel like I'm getting my money's worth even though I haven't traveled yet

I think Ennismore's Dis-loyalty membership could be a game changer for anyone looking to add some spontaneity and luxury to their lives.

Since I live near some of the participating properties and eateries, I already feel like I'm getting a lot out of my membership. And I'm even more excited to check out new hotels around the globe.

With each sip of my complimentary drinks and every glimpse of my future travel itineraries, I'm reminded of just how much I'm getting for what essentially used to be my coffee budget.

While roaming in European countries that border with non-European countries (e.g. The Republic of Cyprus, which borders with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), it is possible for a roaming mobile phone to connect with a mobile mast in the neighbouring country. In these cases, voice, text and data charges are set at the higher, non-European rates. This is also true of maritime, satellite and airborne networks.

2G & 3G SUNSET

The 2G and 3G mobile networks are gradually being switched off over the next few years to make room for the more advanced 4G and 5G networks. 4G and 5G give customers better, faster and more reliable services.

Each country and mobile provider has set its own timetable for its 2G and 3G network switch-off, with the USA currently taking the lead with a commitment to shutting down their networks by January 2023. Here’s what this means for you as a plan.com customer.

TRAVELLING TO THE USA

If you are planning to travel to the USA, some older phones won’t be compatible with USA networks. The switch-off impacts all mobile network operators with roaming agreements with networks in the USA, not just plan.com.

WHAT DO CUSTOMERS NEED TO DO?

If you are going to the USA on business and wish to use your phone, you will need to ensure that you have:

A 4G or 5G phone*

A 4g or 5g enabled sim, a compatible plan.com tariff, 4g calling switched on, on your device, if you have no plans to travel to the usa, then you don’t need to do anything..

*Your 4G or 5G phone needs to support 4G calling when roaming (click here for compatible device list) with the latest software installed. This includes being set up with the correct plan.com APN settings. Further details are available here.

DEVICES THAT WILL WORK IN THE USA FROM 2023

As device manufacturers release new operating system and firmware updates from time to time, please make sure you have the most recent version. Apple devices require iOS 15 or above. Manufacturers using the Android operating system may have enabled the required changes on different versions. A full list of compatible devices is available here.

Fair usage thresholds identify data, call and text usage that falls outside of the rules set out in your customer agreement and its related policies. They help us to ensure that we can continue to provide a consistent, flexible, and unrestricted range of tariffs and features to all our customers.

You may hear from us if your usage (or projected usage) exceeds what we would expect from a typical plan.com customer. If your service continues to breach the rules, we will take action to prevent this in the future.

To find out more about the fair usage policy, limits and consequences, visit https://guides.plan.com/fair-usage

General Roaming Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions form part of the Customer Guide and are incorporated into the Business Customer Terms and Conditions between Plan Communications Limited ("plan.com") and any Customer who is roaming.

WHAT IS ROAMING?

Roaming is when Equipment is used outside of the UK. For example, when you travel to a foreign country with your mobile phone. Your plan.com tariff does not include use of your service(s) outside of the plan.com Europe Zone (“EZ”). Therefore, using Equipment outside of the UK or EZ means that you may incur additional charges, other than those described as part of your tariff, while using your service.

Equipment is ’being used’ while abroad when one or more of the following events take place:

  • Data is accessed by your device. This may happen as soon as a device (“Equipment”) connects with a foreign network provider. plan.com will charge you a fixed standard per MB rate for this data usage without an applicable roaming data bolt-on. To prevent this, either mobile data must be turned off, roaming data must be turned off, the Equipment must be in Flight Mode and/or the Equipment must be turned off. PLEASE NOTE: Data can be accessed by your Equipment as soon as it is turned on, or Data access is enabled having been previously disabled. Data is not limited to specific apps being opened e.g., Facebook, an internet browser or Spotify. Background tasks often access data on your Equipment without your specific interaction. Therefore, your Equipment may be sending or receiving data simply by being turned on.
  • A call is made or received. In order to make or receive a call, your Equipment will automatically attempt to connect to a foreign network provider. The third-party will fulfil this call request. You can prevent calls from being received while abroad by keeping your Equipment in Flight Mode, or asking for an incoming call bar to be applied. plan.com will charge you a fixed standard per minute rate for this usage (see pricing) unless the usage is bundled with a roaming voice bolt-on.
  • A text message is sent. As above, this Service will be fulfilled by a foreign network provider and plan.com will charge you a fixed rate per text (see our pricing guide) unless the usage is bundled with a roaming SMS bolt-on. Multimedia Messages (MMS) are not covered by roaming Bolt-Ons or Add-Ons and are prices accordingly.

Our Daily and Monthly Roaming Bolt-Ons and Add-Ons are a range of products designed to support those Customers who want to use their services while roaming while staying in control of their costs.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES WHILE ROAMING

Customers who use their service(s) while roaming to access data, make or receive calls, or send texts and do not have an applicable roaming Bolt-on or add-on in place will incur additional charges.

Customer will also incur additional if their usage exceeds (i) the relevant allowance included within the Inclusive Allowance of the Customer’s Tariff and (ii) the additional daily or monthly allowance provided by any Bolt-On, Add-On or Data Boost that has been applied (iii) the limitations of the inclusive allowance e.g. when used in a destination not covered by the allowance or used in a way outside of the allowed usage, such as Out of-Zone calls (see below for more details).

Additional Charges will be incurred at the rates set out in our Pricing guide, which can be found here: https://guides.plan.com/pricing/

WHAT IS INTERNATIONAL USAGE?

International usage relates to calls and texts that originate in one country and are received in a different country.

When roaming, please check your Bolt-On or Add-On guide when making or receiving calls while roaming, or sending texts.

Roaming Bolt-ons and Add-Ons do not include International Calls from the UK to a destination outside of the UK. An International Bolt-On or Add-On is required in these cases. International Bolt-On or Add-Ons do not apply while roaming.

ROAMING IN EUROPE

Customers with tariffs and Bolt-ons that include UK allowances may use their UK allowances when roaming in the plan.com Europe Zone (EZ).

Usage in these destinations will be deducted from your domestic tariff allowances. For example, our pro.plan 6GB tariff customers will enjoy 6GB of data to use in the UK and EZ. If you use 500MB in France, 500MB will be deducted from your pro.plan 6GB data allowance.

If you exceed your tariff data allowance and/or Bolt-On or Add-On allowance while roaming in the EZ you will be charged at the same out of bundle rates that apply to the UK.

The following usage is included with the UK tariff allowance:

  • All data usage in the EZ
  • Calls and texts back to the UK from an EZ destination (including voicemail retrieval)
  • Calls and texts within an EZ destination, e.g. Spain to Spain
  • Calls and texts from one destination to another where both are in the EZ, e.g. Spain to Germany (except where calls or texts originate in the UK – these are still regarded as international calls/SMS)

The following usage is excluded from the UK tariff allowance:

  • Calls and texts from the UK to destinations in the EZ will not be included in UK Tariffs - these are international calls/texts
  • Calls and texts from in the EZ to a non-EZ destination, e.g. Spain to the USA are classified as Out of Zone Calls/Texts and subject to fixed per minute/SMS charges (see pricing guide for more information
  • Calls and texts to Premium/Non-Geographic numbers are not included, neither are texts received from premium rate numbers

The Fair Use Threshold for all mobile text usage while roaming outside of the UK (including roaming in the Europe Zone) is 3,000 texts per service per month.

If, at the absolute discretion of plan.com, your call usage exceeds the Fair Usage Threshold as described above, we may contact you by email, text, or telephone to advise you accordingly, but we reserve the right to bar your service.

When we contact you, we will provide you with the opportunity to rectify the situation by ceasing, or substantially reducing, your call and/or text usage. If excessive usage continues, or if for any reason we reasonably suspect that you are not acting in accordance with this policy, we reserve the right to take further action.

Such action may include, but is not limited to:

  • Removing the roaming Bolt-On or Add-On
  • Transferring you to a tariff that does not include unlimited calls, texts and/or data
  • At our absolute discretion, suspending, modifying or restricting the use of your services
  • Withdrawing access to the service indefinitely
  • Termination of contract, which may also include contractual termination fees

FAIR USAGE WHILE ROAMING: PERMANENT OR SEMI PERMANENT RESIDENCY

plan.com tariffs, Bolt-Ons and Add-Ons are intended for customers and users with a stable link to the UK who travel abroad periodically. They are not intended for users roaming on a permanent or semi-permanent basis.

We reserve the right to monitor usage patterns of plan.com customers to reasonably determine whether a Customer may be abusing the regulatory right that permits Customers to use an Inclusive Allowance whilst roaming.

If a customer spends more than two months abroad out of four months or if the customer has consumed more data abroad than at home over this time, we may send an alert to that customer.

Once the alert is received, the customer will have two weeks to clarify the situation. If the user continues to remain abroad, we reserve the right to apply surcharges (equivalent to wholesale roaming caps, agreed on 31 January 2017).

ROAMING NEAR BORDERS

While roaming in countries that border with other destinations that fall outside the region or zone (e.g. The Republic of Cyprus, which borders with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), it is possible for a roaming mobile phone to connect with a mobile mast in the neighbouring country. In the example of Cyprus and Turkey, voice, text and data charges are set at the higher, non-Euro Zone rates.

When it comes to data usage, this can be up to £6 per MB. This is also true of maritime, satellite and airborne networks. plan.com is not able to control which network your Equipment connects to. For this reason, we are not liable for any additional charges that are incurred.

MARITIME, SATELLITE AND AIRBORNE NETWORKS

Maritime, satellite and airborne networks are not included in any plan.com tariff or Bolt-on allowances, even though they may be based in one of our roaming zones.

plan.com cannot be held responsible for Equipment accessing these networks and is not liable for any additional charges that are incurred from Equipment using these networks, even if accidental.

Please take extra care when travelling off-land or within areas not covered by mobile operators. We suggest putting your device into flight-safe mode in these situations or turning off roaming data on your device.

USING YOUR PHONE AS A PERSONAL HOTSPOT WHILE ROAMING

We do not recommend using your phone or connected device as a personal hotspot. Services on standard mobile tariffs are designed for calls, texts and general use such as daily browsing. They’re not designed for being used as (or in) a mobile broadband device, as this usually consumes a great deal of data.

When you use your phone as a hotspot, all devices will be using data from your phone. Depending on the number of devices connected and what they’re being used for, your data allowance could be used up (and exceeded) very quickly.

In addition to this, the reporting of the amount of data used while tethering is subject to increased delays, sometimes of several days. This means that we may not be able to react as quickly to tethered data use as standard data use. Therefore, any data alerts and/or bars set up on your account will also be delayed. This could lead to additional charges on your account.

The reporting of data while roaming outside the UK can further increase the delay in data reporting. Due to the increased cost of using data outside the UK/EU, we highly recommend that you avoid using your phone or connected device as a personal hotspot while roaming.

Three arrests after 'gang rape' of influencer on round-the-world motorcycle trip in India

Police are searching for four others accused of gang-raping a tourist and beating her partner in the state of Jharkhand. The attack has sparked outrage in a country with a poor record for women's safety.

A Brazilian-Spanish tourist was allegedly gang raped in India and her partner attacked when they were camping during a motorcycle trip.

Indian police have detained three men and are searching for four others accused of taking part in the attack on Friday night.

Police found the couple, who are Spanish citizens, around 11pm local time on a roadside looking like they had been beaten, Pitamber Singh Kherwar, superintendent of police in Dumka in eastern India, told reporters.

He said the pair had told authorities "their modesty had been outraged" in an incident involving seven men, but he did not give further details.

The couple, who identified themselves as Vicente and Fernanda to Spanish TV channel Antena 3, said in a video interview on Saturday that the men raped Fernanda and hit her partner Vicente repeatedly.

"They raped me, they took turns while some watched and they stayed like that for about two hours," Fernanda, who has joint Brazilian-Spanish nationality, told the broadcaster.

They said they were camping because they could not find a hotel nearby.

They are travelling around the world on motorbikes, documenting their travels to almost 200,000 followers on their joint Instagram account.

There they published a video account of what happened in the attack. In the video, which is no longer available, Vicente said his mouth was "destroyed" after being hit with his helmet.

Fernanda said she had been beaten and raped by seven men, and they had also been robbed.

In a new video, Vicente and Fernanda, who appears with bruises on her face, thanked their Instagram followers for their support.

The Spanish Foreign Ministry said it was sending staff to the area and had been in touch with authorities, while its Brazilian counterpart said it had sought contact with the Brazilian citizen through its embassy in New Delhi and was available to offer every assistance.

Police superintendent Mr Kherwar said on Saturday one of the people detained had given the authorities the names of the other people involved. A forensic science laboratory was helping in the case, he said.

India has a poor record for women's safety, with more than 31,000 rapes reported in 2022.

The attack has sparked outrage in India. Many women shared their experiences of sexual violence on social media, as well as their frustrations over how it is dealt with.

Actor Richa Chadha called the attack "shameful" while comedian Vir Das called for the "strictest punishment" to show such violence would not be tolerated.

Actor Dulquer Salmaan said he was "crushed" to hear the news, writing on Instagram: "This should not happen to anyone anywhere."

Door That Blew Off Boeing 737 Max Was Likely Missing Several Bolts: NTSB

A door panel that blew off of an Alaska Airlines plane while it was flying over Oregon last month appears to have been missing four bolts, according to a preliminary report released Tuesday by the National Transportation Safety Board.

The bolts that secure the panel to the fuselage had been removed from the Boeing 737 Max 9 during repair work at Boeing’s factory in Renton, Washington, and apparently were not replaced, the report says.

Photos taken during the repair work in September show no evidence that the bolts were replaced before the panel, called a door plug, was closed by workers, the report states.

The report notes that a pressurization light in the plane came on during three flights following the repair work. The NTSB previously said that these alerts, on Dec. 7, Jan. 3 and Jan. 4, resulted in the aircraft being restricted from making long flights over water in case it needed to make an emergency landing.

The panel blew off the jetliner shortly after takeoff on Jan. 5, leaving a gaping hole in the side of the plane. There were 177 people on the aircraft, including passengers and crew members, but no major injuries were reported.

Boeing on Tuesday said it will “expeditiously” review the NTSB’s findings.

“Whatever final conclusions are reached, Boeing is accountable for what happened,” Boeing President and CEO Dave Calhoun  said in a statement.

Boeing 737 Max 9s were immediately grounded in the U.S. by the Federal Aviation Administration following the mid-air scare. During this grounding, Alaska Airlines and United Airlines, which are the only two U.S. airlines using the Max 9 jets,  reported finding loose bolts and other installation issues on some of its grounded planes.

The FAA on Monday said that nearly 94% of the Alaska and United planes have returned to service following inspections.
