Cancún is offering travel incentives for people wanting to visit.

It seems as if Cancún or any other vacation destination is further away this year than it has ever been in the past. The pandemic has affected our vacation plans, and sometimes, we just need a little incentive in order to take the lead.

As far as vacation destinations are concerned, it is difficult to beat what Cancún has to offer. Between the white sand beaches, crystal blue water, and all of the extracurricular activities, there is enough to keep you happy from the start to the end of any trip. This year, they are sweetening the pot after months of lockdown.

The Mexican city is trying to get tourists to come back to the area so they started a campaign that is difficult to top. It offers many bonuses, including discounts on car rentals, free meals, theme park entry, free rounds at the golf course, and even some free hotel rooms!

This incentive, which is seen on social media as #Come2MexicanCaribbean, went underway on June 15.

Reporte Lobby , a Mexican tourism outlet, talked about the campaign and how it was started by Cancún businesses. It wasn’t long before the entire state of Quinta Roo was involved.

More than 200 businesses in the area are already on board with the project, including 17 theme parks, 12 golf courses, and 153 hotels.

The entire project focuses on the number two. As an example, if you booked two nights at a hotel, you will get two nights free stay. Car rental agencies are also offering something similar

Other areas may also get involved in the #Come2MexicanCaribbean project, including the Caribbean island of Isla Mujeres.

There is even going to be a competition in which two people will win holidays for two decades!

According to Tyla , in a press release, the President of the Cancun, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres Hotels Association, Roberto Cintron, said:

“We are very happy and above all, committed because of the great participation in this campaign of the different state hotel associations as well as the tourist industry generally.

It’s designed to reactivate holidays to our destinations after the crisis caused by Covid-19.”

Oliver Reinhart is also a big player within tourism in the area who told the local media that they had to react to get people to their “spectacular destinations” and to stay in the mind of tourists. That is why he and others are pushing the limit with a creative idea and a campaign that is sure to have an impact.

He continued, saying:

“We are convinced the formula to reactivate tourism is working together. The campaign is not about cheating the destination to a two for one. Cancun is worth what it is.

If it’s now available at a cheaper price take advantage of it because it’s not going to last for ever.”

Tourism in Mexico was expected to reopen earlier in June. The FCO is advising against nonessential travel so it is not clear when travel restrictions will be completely lifted.

Some countries are already inviting tourists, including Mallorca, and Greece. There are certain requirements for entry, so it’s always best to make certain before you book your flight and pack your bags.
