BTS' WINGS Tour in Manila unites A.R.M.Y.s from all over the world to spread their wings and fly

There’s always a certain magical touch a good song gives precisely to any person that listens to it. Sometimes, we stray from our daily business to discover a lyrical gem underneath our pile of a discography. In this case, Korean boy group BTS has been hitting every chart enough for their music to find a spot in anyone’s playlist. Along with their successful release of You Never Walk Alone, which pays tribute to the Sewol Ferry Disaster in 2014, they’ve continued to prove that there’s no barrier when it comes to spreading their message through music.

During 6th and 7th of May 2017, they performed in a full house at MOA Arena. Fans, namely A.R.M.Y.s, were disseminated around the venue before the show for each day. They prepared fan projects, merchandise, and various giveaways to bring together even fans that travelled from outside Metro Manila or the Philippines solely to catch the show. Let alone how young or old fans can be, classes or even our day jobs can’t hold back an avid fan from watching their favorite artist live. All you need is a concert ticket, a bus or plane to Manila, and your box of emotions set to be released into the wild.

While I enjoyed watching the show last Saturday, I caught up with a couple of A.R.M.Y.s who shared their experience planning for WINGS Tour in Manila. Once again, we prove that the power of fan culture continues to prevail through the brightest or darkest hours.

Pre-concert preparation:.

Since this was my first time to watch BTS live, I gathered a couple of photos of each member and printed them into cards to distribute to fans that will be interviewed. It’s one of the significant traits of K-Pop fan groups: giving away fan-made merchandise to meet new friends.

Name: Marie

Traveled from: Nueva Ecija

Student/Occupation: Student, Grade 12

How I discovered BTS:

I discovered BTS through my friend who was a fan ever since they debuted as a group. So, one time, I asked her about this picture she posted and I remember that it was my birthday at that time. I asked her “what’s his name?” and she said “Tae Hyung”. Since then, she introduced me to BTS and my focus had mostly been on Tae Hyung.

Pre-concert preparation story:

Actually, we arrived at 5:00 AM yesterday and I slept over at my cousin’s house. We slept for a night and got here in Manila earlier at 9:00 AM. It’s already summer, so there really wasn’t much to deal with in school. We bought our tickets at the nearest SM Tickets outlet by our area. We didn’t find any problems with buying the concert tickets. It was a fast and smooth transaction.

How BTS gives me wings:

Words can’t describe how much I love them. For us, A.R.M.Y.s, they serve as a piece of inspiration. As my mom asked me before if my hobby was a distraction in school. She also asked me “How do you manage to balance high school and your hobby?” because she was surprised on how I could keep up with my grades and fangirl at the same time. Yoon Gi also inspired me to continue playing the piano.

Names: Nicole and RR

Traveled from: Batangas

Student/Occupation: Both high school teachers

RR: From my cousin. But I was already into KPop at first. BTS suddenly started appearing on our Spotify playlists, that’s how my cousin discovered them and eventually introduced them to me. They were already in my playlists before but I wasn’t so into them yet. Later on, I started seeing them on TvN since we have it on our cable TV. I researched more about them, and now I just love them.

RR: In terms of financial, medyo madali siya. Yung sa getting of the ticket, it’s a good thing I had a connection someone inside with the ticket so madali siyang nakuha and sa distance naman, ok lang kasi sanay naman kami magcommute.

In terms of our expenses, it was easy to manage. When it was time to purchase our concert tickets, it was a good thing I knew someone from inside the ticketing system so we didn’t have a difficult time. Regarding the distance, it was okay for us to travel this far since we’re used to commuting via public transportation.

Nicole: I had the same experience since we both booked everything together.

RR: They help me feel at ease or relax from all the stress at work. Whether it’s watching a video on Youtube or listening to WINGS on the way to work or on the way home, they just knew how to give a sense of relief.

Nicole: Same with me! Haha

Traveled from: Cebu

Student/Occupation: College students studying Rehabilitations Sciences

Nikki: College. My classmate, my seatmate actually . . . she kept on watching kpop videos during class, so I was like ‘What’s that?’

Ess: I really love BTS, but then like, I was curious about them. I spiraled down from there.

Nikki: For me, it was easier because I think there a lot of KPop fans from Cebu, so it really was easy. We’re really luck. We had a friend who gave us her queue number. We’re like #70 in the V.I.P queue.

Ess: The lines weren’t as long compared to the others. It wasn’t so bad. We ran. We got there by 6 something. We arrived, then we went to the queue right away.

Nikki: For me, they give me comfort like they make me feel like I’m not alone. So, it’s like I can have my own confidence where I’m not going alone through this. It’s not just me. They just give me hope at the same time. With those wings, I can fly higher.

Ess: BTS is not like hell. For me, like, the individual members are very inspirational. Especially how idols also go to school and how they have their own achievements for the group. So, it’s like if they can do this, well, I can also, like, go through my college.

Traveled from: Korea

Student/Occupation: English teacher at a kindergarten academy in Seoul

So, I actually discovered BTS when I was living in Korea cause I study abroad back when they had their debut. So, I was just on YouTube one day and I found their No More Dream music teaser videos. So, I watched that and I thought ‘Oh, wow. This is such a unique sound. I have to see them.’ So, that’s how I became a fan.

I was actually kinda nervous about it cause it’s my first time kinda going overseas to see them. So, I had think a lot about finding a flight. Then, my friend actually helped get concert tickets, so I didn’t have to feel that bad. It was really nice knowing people here because they help me a lot. I had another fun in the hotel. It was just a bunch of fans working there to help me get my friends. So, I had a pretty good experience.

So, just their doing what they want to do and that they can inspire so many people through the songs that they write. How can they reach so many people and how they connect everyone across the world and it really helps me think like ‘I’m not alone. I can connect with everyone else. The same problems, whether they have different problems, you have a sense of community, and I think that lifts everybody up together. I think that’s the meaning of Wings.

One of my friends keep on putting BTS videos and in 2015, I already followed them. I was like a huge Jin fan cause he’s so handsome.

The good thing is . . . I’m already a full-time working adult, so I managed to get off day or a leave day. So, the only thing I was worrying about was the ticketing. I had friends from the airport, who were in the Philippines. It’s just that the ticketing was very scary. I had so many stories, like, people getting into arguments. I was really worried for me and my friends.

I got my tickets online. Straight from SM. The first one didn’t reflect, then the second one get through. I got my tickets.

I think because the members are all . . .  they really inspire you like how work gives you your results. I think they give inspiration to a lot of people. Especially me since I’m trying to work my way in life. If you work hard, you’ll get it. You have to be really patient. You have to believe in yourself and surround yourself with people that will inspire you to do better.

POST-CONCERT INSIGHT:

A couple of the interviewees gave me gifts too, such as photocards and candy. While I was also going around the venue, people would give me stickers or cards out of the blue. It’s a heartwarming experience to meet fans and see how much they would go their way to share their passion for music, or the artist the admire rather.

During Day 1, I was able to participate for the fan projects planned then. At first, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to claim the slogan or the colored plastic bags for the specific lightstick ocean. But then, I noticed that the seats inside MOA Arena had rolls of paper on each cup holder (these were the slogans!) and there were people distributing purple and pink plastic bags for the 2!3! Purple Ocean and Spring Day (Pink and Green) Ocean.

Each concert creates a certain atmosphere where every fan unites. I experienced that kind of moment when the fan projects commenced. The A.R.M.Y Bombs (light sticks) decorated the concert similarly to stars in the pitch black sky. All the members shared their sentiments about coming back to Manila and wishing how they could stay longer. Rap Monster also noticed the Blue Sky banner ocean during Outro:Wings, saying that it has his lyrics from 'Run'.

As the show came to an end, a shower of flower-shaped confetti happened inside the venue after they performed their last song ‘Spring Day’. People started to collect as many as they could from the confetti shower.

PULP staff greeted each attendee at the exit points of the arena with a card that served as memorabilia from the concert. Certainly, BTS gave all of us a performance to remember for a lifetime. Hence, we departed from the venue with memories that gave us our own wings.

5 Times BTS ‘Wings Tour’ In Manila Is LIT

Bts was on fire.

The highest recorded temperature in Manila might have been recorded at Mall of Asia Arena on May 6 and 7 as Korean boy group BTS put the stage on fire with blazing performances and unforgettable memories during its two-night ‘ 2017 BTS LIVE TRILOGY EPISODE Ⅲ THE WINGS TOUR’  concert.

After staying for a week in the archipelago and wrapping up the Manila leg of the third live trilogy, it’s time for Philippine ARMYs to say “see you again” to the septet.

But cry not for we got you covered! Hellokpop is here to give you something to hold on to while keeping your fingers-crossed for their next concert.

Read on and look back with us as we list down five times WINGS TOUR in Manila was lit.

We've reached the inevitable – it's the end of #BTSWingsAtMOAArena ! #BTSWIngsTourManila pic.twitter.com/jdBhLtNZG4 — MALL OF ASIA ARENA (@MOAArena) May 7, 2017

Time #1: ‘2 Cool 4 Skool’ Solo Stages

The arena was already burning with much feels as the boys opened the show with their newest hit Not Today from the repackaged album ‘You Never Walk Alone’, which was followed by Am I Wrong , a track from the second studio album ‘Wings’.

But the scorching heat of their performances was up by another level with each member’s solo stages, starting from youngest member Jungkook.  He showed Manila what a golden maknae is made of with Begin . There was also no lying that Jimin was every bit of a dancer in his performance of Lie , while Rap Monster ‘s Reflection did not only show his capabilities as a rapper but ARMYs’ love for him as well by filling the arena with purple hearts and saranghae .

PH Armys chanting "Kim Namjoon!" and "Saranghae" such a beautiful moment ? #BTSWingsTourInManila #BTSBBMAs pic.twitter.com/8po8hoaNJe — hiatus (@taejinkookmin) May 6, 2017

V took the baton next with a soulful stage of Stigma,  and J-Hope took fans to his growing up years with childhood photos while performing MAMA . Eldest member Jin , on the one hand, kept the feels “wide awake” in his Awake stage.

Although the members’ solo stages were all impressive, Suga (probably) shone the brightest with his solo stage First Love that was both theatrical and emotional. Despite the language barrier, the rapper successfully relayed his emotions through his raps partnered with a mini orchestra that just exploded all the feels. And don’t we all love a Min Yoon Gi by the piano?

Time #2: Trip Down Memory Lane With BTS’s Title Songs

We love all the stages BTS did from their opening song to Silver Spoon , Save Me and Dope . But admit it, there is nothing more nostalgic than watching BTS perform their past title songs live. And WINGS TOUR in Manila delivered just that, with a medley of N.O , No More Dream , Boy In Luv , Danger and Run .

170507 No more dream #방탄소년단 #BTS #BTSWINGSTourInManilaDay2 #JIMIN #JUNGKOOK #V pic.twitter.com/mjO6XUFNyD — ?꾹이몬스터? (@Liya8897) May 8, 2017

It was a trip down memory lane and bittersweet but we are all proud parents, happy to witness how our ‘sons’ have grown up, aren’t we? From school boys singing about school and their dreams to men delivering hit after hit, and hitting us just right in the feels with their songs on friendship, love, youth and even societal issues, BTS has indeed grown up.

Time #3: “Gigil nyo si ako” – The Line of the Year

The bar has just been raised, idols. If you are the next group that will be coming over to the archipelago, you should begin to learn Filipino words now.

BTS’s one-week stay in the Philippines was worth it and WINGS TOUR in Manila saw the fruits of it all. From the usual “mahal ko kayo (I love you)” and “salamat (Thank you)”, the septet expanded their Filipino vocabulary to “lakasan nyo pa (louder)”, “lahat tayo sumigaw (all of us scream)”, among others.

A short compilation of BTS speaking tagalog ☺️☺️ (part 1) #BTSWingsTourInManila #WINGSTourInManila #BTSBBMAs pic.twitter.com/FyXrKNrHOj — BANGTAN TRASHEOU (@yatoingkun) May 6, 2017

BTS did not also limit their Filipino ments with one-liners but went on to deliver much of their talk in the local language like Jungkook’s “Gusto ko madalas tayong magkita. Wag ninyong kalimutan na lagi tayong magkasama kahit malayo tayo.” (I want us to meet more often. Don’t forget that we are always together even if we’re faraway)

The effort was sincerely appreciated, Bangtan. But we can’t help but give the throne to the “Best Filipino line ever delivered by a K-Pop artist” to Jin with his “Gigil nyo si ako” (Gigil does not have a direct English translation but it can mean having the uncontrollable urge to squeeze something cute.)

"philippine ARMY! gigil niyo si acoe!" jin got flustered when he forgot what to say so we started chanting his name #BTSWingsTourManila pic.twitter.com/0hHyfmmO31 — ? (@soulprtnr) May 7, 2017

V, on the one hand, is our “Best Filipino Speaker”. As fans said, he keeps getting better and can pass a Filipino with his fluency in the language.

TAEHYUNG LOOKS SO SERIOUS AND CUTE AT THE SAME TIME WHILE SPEAKING TAGALOG ?? #BTSWingsTourInManila pic.twitter.com/yCV7DyWLPr — stream chicken noodle soup (@gukinam) May 7, 2017

Time #4: Extra + BTS is not ordinary

Yes, they are charismatic performers who slay every stage they are on. But they are also fun-filled bunch who create “spring day” with their cuteness and adorableness.

From Suga, V, Jungkook and Rap Monster pretending to walk out the stage after delivering some cheesy ments to a little dance showdown the septet had between talk, we saw it all.

The compilation of "walk out BTS" scene lol what's wrong with them hahaha #BTSWINGSTourInManilaDay2 pic.twitter.com/TWAvlXzkoC — ???? 안나 ? (@hexakth) May 7, 2017

Adding to the list of “BTS’s Extra Moments” is J-Hope’s mini flying show and “dialogue” with ARMYs – with “Pak pak ganern ganern”. Jin also had a mini “magic” show for Philippine ARMYs where he took a paper from his pocket to reveal a “Mahal kita” written on it.

HE FINALLY REMEMBERED HIS SPEACH AND EVEN WROTE "MAHAL KITA". ISTG JIN, YOU'RE AN ANGEL #BTSWINGSTourInManilaDay2 pic.twitter.com/JFBw2mKD2W — persona ; 4.26 (@jeonoasis) May 7, 2017

Aside from being jealous of the floor during their I NEED U stage, we bet fans wanted to be cameramen for once after BTS ogled the cameras and showered them with kisses and hearts.

V also showed ARMYs what a true visual is with his funny and meme-worthy expressions.

FROM HANDSOME TO MEME REAL QUICK THAT'S KIM TAEHYUNG YALL #WINGSTourInManilaDay2 pic.twitter.com/wLOkrjTD5J — 짐빠답 (@jiminthrusts) May 7, 2017

And we need a constant reminder that Jin is the oldest member of BTS after seeing him go all dorky with a J-Hope mask and a Jungkook derp photo (If you are wondering why Jungkook posted a selfie along with a Jin derp photo, this is why.)

Since Jin used a Jungkook's derp photo, Jungkook made his revenge by tweeting the same #BTSBBMAs pic.twitter.com/tZ5QUUUU5U — JIN Philippines ?? (@SEOKJIN_PH) May 8, 2017

Time #5: From 21st Century to 2! 3! until Spring Day Fan Projects by ARMYs

ARMYs have shown a lot of times how capable they are as a fandom in giving BTS special memories to treasure. They are dominating the voting for Billboard Music Awards with over 100 million votes, and since the septet’s arrival in Manila on May 1, they took over Twitter with #MabuhayBTS.

Aside from creating social media buzz for their beloved idols, Philippine ARMYs also donned several fan projects to make WINGS TOUR in Manila the most beautiful moment of the boys’ lives.

Day 1 of the Manila leg saw a beautiful spring day ocean and Run banner, while Day 2 gifted the boys a Philippine flag ocean, 21st Century boy banner and wonhae manhi Manila banner.

SPRING DAY OCEAN?? RUN BANNER PH FLAG OCEAN?❤️? 21STCENTURY BOY BANNER WONAHE MANILA BANNER ALL SUCCESSFUL #BTSWingsTourInManila #BTSBBMAs pic.twitter.com/ACQY9ypmS7 — ???? ??????? ??? (@CypherGod_Tae) May 8, 2017

They also sang along to the group’s songs tirelessly, including 2! 3! from ‘Wings’ album. There were also constant fan chants and cheers that never died down in the whole two and a half hours of the concert.

Thumbs up to ARMYs. As J-Hope said, you are truly BTS’s pakpak (wings).

The fan chant and ocean during dul set. I was crying when I took this video. We love you @BTS_twt . #BTSWingsTourInManila #WINGSTourInManila pic.twitter.com/w33f7IPI8s — 알이 (@ariikookie) May 8, 2017

It is difficult to admit and feelings may still be lingering – for May 6 and 7 were days of everything beautiful and fun. From group performances that heat up the arena, on fire solo stages, to fun memories of Filipino words, dorkiness and unity in the fandom, there is no denying that the Manila leg of ‘ 2017 BTS LIVE TRILOGY EPISODE Ⅲ THE WINGS TOUR ‘ was LIT!

7 Things to Remember from BTS’ Wings Tour In Manila

wings tour manila bts

  • 22 May, 2017

Two weeks had passed since global sensation K-pop group Bangtan Sonyeondan, more popularly known as BTS, took Manila by storm for the third time.

The septet group, comprised of Rap Monster, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jimin and Jungkook, returned to the country and held their two-day Manila leg for “2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour” last May 6-7 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Whether you were #TeamBahay, #TeamLabas, or #TeamConcert during those two days, you all feel the same thing: You miss BTS and want them back again. Well maybe next year, right?

Why don’t we all take a look back at the flower path memories Manila had with BTS?

1. PH A.R.M.Y.s singing along to BTS songs even before the concert starts

via Hotaru Niitsu / INQUIRER.net

It was remarkable, beautiful, and breathtaking how language barrier didn’t seem to affect us Filipinos when it came to music. Maybe Filipinos, in general, loved singing (karaoke, anyone?).

Even in K-pop, we have the knack for memorizing the full romanized Korean lyrics of our idols’ songs (other than the fanchants).

During Day 1, fans were singing along to the music videos being played before the concert started. But what melted this writer’s heart was when the fans sang along to “Spring Day” MV while waving their Army Bombs (official BTS light stick). It was such a majestic, and touching sight, indeed.

During Day 2, it’s also hard to move on from Suga, whose raps emit fire, as he let the fans sing his complete opening lines in “Blood, Sweat & Tears.”

2. BTS speaking in “deep” Tagalog, translated ending VCR

During “Wings Tour” in Bangkok, member Jimin had a very cute blunder in his goodbye speech as he uttered “salamat po (Thank you in Filipino)” instead of “khob khun khrub (Thank you in Thai).”

Maybe he just missed the Philippines so much? It seemed evident with the many mushy Filipino words he said during their two-day concert here.

It wasn’t only him though! All seven of them took turns in sharing their learned Tagalog words that elicited squeals and giggles all over the arena.

Some of the words they said were: “Salamat po,” “Mahal ko kayo,” “Nag-enjoy ba kayong lahat?” “Gigil niyo si ako,” “Gusto ko madalas tayo magkita,” “Mamimiss ko kayo.” And the sweetest of all was, “Kayo ang aming pakpak.”

Even their long VCR before “Outro: Wings” was translated into Filipino, just a bit too literal and “deep.” Nevertheless, the effort was recognized and that’s all that matters.

3. BTS’ colorful, unique solo acts

We’re not sure when we’d see these spectacular solo performances again but who could forget seeing Jimin dance with his eyes blindfolded during “Lie.” He looked like he was floating in midair while he was being carried by men like a work of art.

Or who could move on from J-Hope’s super fun and heart-tugging performance of his song “Mama” dedicated to his mother? After watching that performance, I bet everyone would agree that he totally emits those sun rays, brightening up the whole arena.

Did anyone expect Jungkook’s solo to have such intense choreography?

Maybe some of you have wiped their eyes the moment Suga performed “First Love,” since the way he rapped his soul out evoked such strong emotions.

4. Classic songs’ medley

PH A.R.M.Y.s were blessed with a medley of BTS’ older, but all-time favorite tracks namely “N.O,” “No More Dream,” “Boy In Luv,” “Danger,” and “Run.”

During this segment, the boys scattered around the arena to meet their fans.

5. “Wings” and “You Never Walk Alone” albums’ songs in flesh

The main course of their “Wings Tour” was to showcase their new songs live.

It was a great experience for fans to witness them perform in person their record-breaking new tracks such as, “Blood Sweat & Tears,” “Spring Day,” and “Not Today.” They also sang all their songs from the new albums except “A Supplementary Story: You Never Walk Alone.”

6. Heart thumping Fanservice

Another highlight was the various fanservice the group did to their fans. It was great to have witnessed some of it up-close!

Member J-Hope exuded radiant beauty and took one fan project banner from the person in front of me.

The oldest member Jin—wearing glasses—also did something cute as he ducked and stared at the fans in our area.

Jimin and V made Twitter pulsate with their heart fluttering actions too. Jimin was seen holding a fan’s hand while singing his line in “Run.” V, on the other hand, stood and stared at his fans for a great deal of time before reaching out his hand to one lucky fan.

Another memorable experience was when Jin showed his love for their PH fans as he pulled out a paper with the word “Mahal Kita” written on it.

Who could also forget when rap line Suga and J-Hope showered the fans with the same water they were drinking during “Cypher Pt.4”?

There were plenty more unforgettable moments, of course, since BTS seemed to love teasing their fans a lot.

7. PH A.R.M.Y.s’ Fan Projects

PH fans prepared various fan projects for both Day 1 and Day 2 in Manila.

During “Spring Day,” fans covered their light sticks with pink and green plastics to produce a wonderful pink ocean with touches of green, as a reminder of flowers blooming in Spring.

Aside from the ocean fan projects, the boys noticed the banner fan projects for both days. Some members even took and held them while showing the banners to everyone.

One of the biggest project prepared by PH A.R.M.Y.s was the Giant Army Bomb Ver. 2 in Mall of Asia, displaying BTS videos in the big globe.

BTS Wings Tour in Manila Concert 2017

Posted on May 7, 2017 | by karenmeetsworld | Category: Events , Oh My K!

When we saw the message “We Hope To See You All Again in 2017” flashing at the end of Epilogue Concert in Manila last year, I knew I had to save up for that Concert. I couldn’t afford being on #teamnaubusan  or  #teamSRO  again. It was depressing! I had to be there with reserved seating. So I saved up for a VIP ticket (the same price as epilogue) even though I don’t know what Concert they will have this year and how much it will be.

Fast forward to February 2017, Happee Sy announced on twitter that Wings Tour in Manila Concert will be a two-day Concert. I’m really happy because I know that chances of us being on #teamnaubusan has now lessened. But of course we were still nervous as this will be twice as sparta at it was last year.

So as preparation for this, we’ve conducted a poll on twitter on what tickets PH Armys were planning to buy and on what day? I was surprised that PH ARMYs were so dedicated. They were planning to buy VIP tickets on both days (based on poll results). Oemgee mga RK (rich kids). With that data, we knew that there’s a huge competition for VIP C. So we have to opt for Upper Box B for both days or Upper Box A Day1 and Upper Box B Day 2.

Then, after that, we’ve made another poll to which SM Branch they were planning to buy and most of their answers were SM MOA, SM Megamall , and SM North . PH Armys will flock to these malls on ticket selling, so we have to avoid these malls as much as possible if we wanted to have a good queuing number.

We even contacted friends and relatives who work in SM to help us get inside the mall early. Apparently they were based in MOA which was quite hard. As we were all aware there were fans who will camp out a day before the ticket selling even though we told them not to for their safety.

As you see, I really took an effort to form a plan for this Concert, because I really wanted to watch their concert and see the boys even for  Just One Day (cue MV)!

Wings Tour Ticket Selling Experience

I woke up at around 6:30am but I felt like I haven’t slept at all. Maybe because I’m excited and at the same time nervous! Excited as finally we will be able to buy concert tickets and nervous as we don’t know if we will get one.

Our original plan was to go to SM Aura because it’s near our place. But when I checked on twitter that the lines were really long outside like from the second floor escalator near Starbucks going to the Mall’s entrance. We backed out, I called my cousins that we should meet at SM Makati instead. I packed my supposed to be breakfast, had a quick shower, and head on to SM Makati.

We arrived at SM Makati around 7:45am. There were already people in line but not as long as that on SM Aura. My cousin and niece fall in line as I got us a number (167,168, 169) . Yes! We were already a bit far, but the Good News was we don’t need to run.

BTS Wings Tour Queing Number

I’m so glad that SM Makati was also prepared for this Concert Ticket Selling and they were organized unlike last year. There were chairs lined up beside the escalator and the guards and SM Makati staffs outside strictly checks our numbers to ensure that we were arranged accordingly. Kudos to them for making the ticket selling to be as smooth and organized as possible!

We met two co Armys outside whose biases were V and Jimin. They were planning to buy Ged Ad tickets for Day 2. We chatted and shared Fan Meeting videos as we wait for our turn to the counter.

It was 12:30pm when we got to the second floor. Excited. Nervous. Afraid. Hopeful were what we felt as we move closely towards the counter. We looked at those Armys who go out happily as they hold their desired tickets. At the same time checked Twitter for updates. Apparently by that time VIP C (both days), Genad, and Upper Box Day2 tickets were already sold out. Our hope was to get Upper Box B for both Days. But since majority of Armys were targeting Day2 tickets our only hope was Day1.

Me and my new found friends were checking online to get updates on the status at other malls. And yes, in just a few seconds, what you were thinking was right! We got bad news DAY2 tickets were already sold out and it was also announced by the staff here in SM Makati.

Our last resort was Day1 upper box A or B tickets , whatever seats it will be. We can’t be choosy anymore. Our desire to see them were at stake here.

Finally, we were already second in line. We were just waiting for the one in front to buy their tickets. They were trying to buy GenAd tickets, hoping to get one when the site refreshes (it happens last year). Unfortunately, they were told that it was really sold out for both Days. Too heartbreaking! 🙁

When it was our turn, we were thankful that our desired area in Upper Box A were still available. However, the seats were scattered. Like we cannot seat together. Two seats were available and the other one was already a bit far from the first two seats. We’re three and we cannot be apart so I told the lady in the counter to check if there were other areas in Upper box A where three seats were available and it was worst – all seats were apart from each other. The lady tried to go back to the first one we saw and thankfully when she refreshes the website there were three seats available so we got it! We got the tickets! Woohoo!

We were sooo ECSTATIC the moment we got our tickets. We finally have our seats and we will be able to enjoy the concert more! LB SRO was such a struggle especially if you’re short. But the technique there was you need to be early in line so you can have a good view on standing section. Our lack of sleep, hunger, and tedious planning for this ticket selling was all worth it!

A week before Concert Day…

I saw a Facebook post from my friend that she was selling her GenAd Ticket for Day2. Because I really want to see them on both days. I immediately bought it!!!

But three days before the Concert Day…

Due to unforeseen circusmstances, I messaged my friend to resell the ticket. I was so sad that I didn’t get to watch them on both days but I’m happy that there was another Army who got a chance to watch the Wings Tour Concert because of that ticket… I will be watching Day1 so I should be okay with that.

Countdown to Concert Day…

As we countdown to the Concert Day, my friend sent us a Wings Tour Setlist Spotify Playlist so we can memorize the songs especially the solos and rap songs. I tried memorizing Cypher Part 4 though it was really hard. haha

D-Day: BTS Wings Tour Concert!

We woke up a bit early during the concert day. Because how can you sleep well thinking it’s going to be BTS concert day the next day, Right? Excited na excited lang!!! Haha

My cousin went to Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena earlier than us because she needs to claim her ARMY Bomb version 2. After that, she went to our house to fetch us so we can go to MOA together. We were laughing at her. Because when she arrived at our house she brought a lot of official merchandise and got lots of free Taekook pics from Fanmasternim noonas.

Of course, I got envious… I wanted to buy merch too — BTS Wings Official Jacket. So, I skipped lunch and had my preparation routine before we head to MOA Arena. We actually plan to head there 4pm since we already have seats and we don’t need to run to get a good position inside but because I can’t take my feels anymore we head there 12:30pm. Haha

Karen Meets World Travels to MOA Arena for Wings Tour Concert

Because Uber surge was so high that time, my cousin and niece decided to take a Taxi as it was faster than a bus. I was against it because I have trust issues with Taxis’ in the Philippines (In fact, you can count on my fingers the times I rode a taxi in a year). And you know what happened after we rode one, the taxi driver has been talking on his mobile phone throughout the trip and so when we were telling him our itinerary, we passed by it and  took a turn towards the other side of MOA. Super inikot ikot kami. Maybe he thought it was Sarah G’s Concert.  Kidding! haha

When we arrived at MOA, we looked for my cousins’ merch from an online store. Then proceeded to Greenwhich to eat lunch. Armys were already flocking inside the restaurants. We were able to meet some of them (Taekook bias). We took a photo from their camera as a remembrance. Although, we didn’t get the chance to get their social media accounts (If you’re seeing this post, please contact me. haha). It was fun talking to them about BTS. 🙂

We’re here! #BTSWingsTourinManila A post shared by karenmworld (@karenmworld) on May 7, 2017 at 12:04am PDT

We proceeded to MOA Arena Marina Bay Area after we have eaten our late lunch to look for BTS Concert Headbands.

Concert Tip: Do not buy those long lightsticks outside MOA because it’s not allowed inside the concert area. It will be confiscated by the Guards at the entrance gate. So Save Your PHP 300.00 and just buy those small light sticks and headbands instead.

We also tried getting free BTS goods from fansite noonas but since they were being squeezed in by Armys so we backed out and proceeded to the area where BTS Standee was located. I even joked to my cousin “Perhaps the organizers know my biases in BTS because they have the standee arranged according to my preference: Jin x Suga x Jhope”. hihi Of course, I only took pictures with the three of them before we headed to the entrance gate.

PS: The truth was those three have less lines than the other members. haha

Army PH Fall in Line to take Pictures to BTS Standee

The lines for GenAd and Upper Box sections were really a mess. You won’t know where you should fall in line because the lines were mixed up. And there’s no one assisting us. Even the parents who look after their daughters were also lining up to the entrance. It was different than the lines for VIP sections (it was more organized).

BTS WIngs Tour Concert Line at the Entrance

We were only able to breathe freely when we get to the inspection section. I was able to have my digicam pass the inspection but I was put on hold outside because our tickets won’t tap at the entrance gate. We were just waiting outside for about 10 minutes. Good thing, the SM MOA Manager confirms our tickets were legit and used her ID instead to let us in.

I felt so happy to be able to watched @bts.bighitofficial concert in our country! 😊♥ Army PH singing along with all your songs, shouting your fanchants, lighting up the entire arena, and raising your banner was astonishing! 😊 I hope to be able to see your performances in the years to come? #BTSWingsTourinManila Magkikita tayo ulit! 😉♥ A post shared by karenmworld (@karenmworld) on May 7, 2017 at 1:26am PDT

There were only a few people inside the Arena when we got in. The fan project banners were distributed on each chairs as well as the colored plastics. BTS music videos were playing in low volume on both sides of the stage.

Team Upper Box A while Holding BTS Banner for Fan Project

By the time the concert was about to start, everyone started singing along to BTS Spring Day! We got Goosebumps seeing how beautiful BTS Ocean was and hearing the wonderful voices of all PH Armys! It was amazing 🙂

BTS Wings Tour Performances

After the last video was shown, BTS members composed of Jin, Suga, Rap Monster, Jhope, V,  Jimin, and Jungkook explosively opened the Wings Tour Concert  with the song “Not Today” from their latest album “You Never Walk Alone” .  Army PH loudly sang along the whole song with the boys while waving their army bombs.

It was followed by a quick introduction of BTS members and performance of the songs “Am I Wrong” , “Baepsae” , and “Dope” .

The Maknae bias wrecker Jungkook swoon our hearts once again as he started the solo performances with “Begin”, followed by Jimin’s “Lie” and Suga’s “First Love” . I tried memorizing Suga’s solo but all I remembered was “piano” . haha I sang it correctly during his performance though.

You know what I found touching during the entire concert was that there’s no silent moment. Armys were singing BTS songs with their hearts content and when we don’t know the song, we either shout or chant BTS names especially on the rap parts.

We found ourselves in awe as they began dancing as a group again with the vocal line’s “LOST” . Rapper line joined the vocal line for  “I Need You” , and  “Save Me”.

Rap Monster’s “Reflection” not only showed his talent as a leader, rapper, vocal, but also Armys love for him as we started chanting Rap Monster’s name “Kim Namjoon” and “Saranghae” in between his verses. Loud shouts filled the arena as V started singing “Stigma” .

My favorite part of the show was J-Hope’s “Mama” . His super fun and heart-tugging performance has really won us over. He really shines the most among the members during the solo performances. Everyone became a JHope biased after that! Ugh! I can still remember that moment when the camera was focused on him as he sang and smile. Gosh! Nakakakilig naman talaga! 🙂 I love it whenever he’s happy. It made me happy too. Plus his childhood photos at the VCR were so adorable.

Visual and eldest member Jin keep our feeels awake in his “Awake” stage.

Army PH releases their stress, and hate to all the haters as they sang and shout “I Love Myself” on “Cypher Part 4” . The stage went on Fire as the boys hits the stage with “Fire” . The party continues as they performed “N.O.+No more dream+Boy in luv+Danger+RUN” in remix.

We almost cringe as they show their cute side on  “21st Century Girls” .  Of course, we were amazed the moment we saw “Boys Meets Evil” live. I was really glad and proud that our fan project “Wonhae, Mani Manila” was a success during “Blood Sweat Tears” (BST) . Our loud voices made Suga let us sing his part! 🙂

The boys went backstage after BST and while they were at it. Army PH started shouting “Banners” and “Plastic” ???(if I’m not mistaken) to announce that we will be doing our second fan project. haha It was supposed to be a surprise to the boys but not anymore because we shouted that loud. It was still successful though.

We all stand up and dance our banner as they performed “Outro:Wings”. It made us felt as if we were really flying that time. The lightness the song brought to us was so powerful and uplifting. Rap Monster and other BTS members even read the banner which was his lyrics from RUN .

We already knew that they will speak English but we were not prepared when they spoke Tagalog the entire night. It feels like we’re watching a tagalog dubbed Kdrama but this was live. It was so funny haha Some of the words they said were: “Salamat po”, “Mahal ko kayo”, “Nagenjoy ba kayong lahat”, “Mahal ko ang Pilipino Army”, “Gigil Niyo si Ako”, “Gusto ko Madalas tayo Magkita”, “Mamimiss ko kayo”,  “Magaling”. And the sweetest of them all “Kayo ang Aming Pakpak”.

I almost cried as we sang “Dul Set” , and “Spring Day” . And the Green and Pink ocean was making my heart melt so much. I know it was the same for you too!

You may watch the whole concert performances on the video below:

The concert ended with a song from Spring Day. Some of the boys were also teary as they bow down and say their goodbyes.

BTS, we will surely be with you always and forever! See you again next time! 🙂

#BTSWingsTourinManila has now ended! I hope @bts.bighitofficial enjoyed the concert because we (Armys) enjoyed it too. We will miss you guys! Your smiles and voices’.😭😊 But as promised “We will always be together”. Until next year? 😊 @pulpliveworld @happeehour @mr_vernongo thank you for making it all happen! 😊 정말 고맙습니다! 다시 보자!!! 😊 #ohmyk! 2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour in Manila

PH A.R.M.Ys, you’ve kept your ear to the ground for this announcement. Now it is with great excitement and pleasure that PULP Live World finally announces the 2017 BTS LIVE TRILOGY EPISODE III: THE WINGS TOUR IN MANILA!

Show Details

SOARING TO GREATER HEIGHTS, BTS SETS FORTH ON THE WINGS TOUR AND WILL BE HOLDING THEIR FIRST TWO-DAY SHOW IN MANILA

The world stage bore witness to the way BTS rose with a steady momentum. BTS, comprised of Jin, Suga, Rap Monster, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, emerged as one of the most promising KPop boy groups in 2013, earning different awards from award-giving bodies that saw the potential that they held. This superb beginning was followed by an even stronger assault as BTS embarked on the 2014 BTS LIVE TRILOGY EPISODE II: THE RED BULLET from late 2014 to 2015, which saw BTS taking on their first major solo concert tour and making their first performance on Philippine soil—PULP Live World mounted the group’s first Manila show at the Mall of Asia Arena on December 7, 2014.

BTS was indeed bulletproof—they were invincible and unstoppable, effectively and effortlessly snatching the limelight to their focus with their infectious energy, heart-stopping choreography, and exceptional hip hop flavor as seen, heard, and felt in surefire hits like “We Are Bulletproof Pt. 2”, “Boy In Luv”, “Danger”, and more, in every stage they set afire across the globe. They concluded this groundbreaking world tour on a high note, rounding up a total of 19 sold-out shows. But relentless as they were, they soon came out with their two-part The Most Beautiful Moment in Life (화양연화) EP series which shot straight to the top of various music charts such as Gaon, iTunes, and MelOn, even breaking into the Billboard 200 chart as well as Billboard’s World Album charts.

They then kicked off the 2016 BTS LIVE Tour in Korea and went on to make a couple of stops across Asia, including Manila. For the second time, BTS shared their boundless talent with PH A.R.M.Ys at a packed show in the MOA Arena, also made possible by PULP Live World. Just within three hours after going on sale, tickets for this show were SOLD OUT as PH A.R.M.Ys were extremely eager to see the boys once more. The rest of the Asia dates for the Epilogue tour were all packed, with all 144,000 tickets for 14 performances in 10 countries selling out very fast.

Following their 2015 release was the largely successful compilation album BTS put out in May 2016, 화양연화: Young Forever, which sold over 300,000 copies in the one-week pre-sale period alone—another feat in the KPop industry under BTS’ belt. It didn’t take long until BTS grew into prominence, gaining more recognition in the form of various nominations, and awards. More recently, they took home a Daesang (HotelsCombined Artist of the Year) at the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards, and won a Bonsang at both the 2016 Seoul Music Awards (where they took home the most number of awards out of all the other artists), and the 2017 Golden Disk Awards—all for their phenomenal work on WINGS.

Now, as BTS sets forth on what may just be their biggest and most explosive concert tour yet. The Wings Tour kicked off last February 18-19 at Korea’s Gocheok Skydome, with BTS setting the record for being the first group to sell out the massive venue twice in a row, with over 38,000 tickets gone the same day they went on sale. This continued, and soon more and more shows were sold out– tickets sold very fast in the US and in their Latin America dates as well. Following this trend, it seems the same would be said about Asia, especially Manila.

PH A.R.M.Ys sure have something to look forward to as for the first time ever, BTS will be holding a two-day show in Manila! Soaring to greater heights, BTS will be bringing the 2017 BTS LIVE TRILOGY EPISODE III: THE WINGS TOUR in Manila on May 6-7, 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

It’s time to assemble anew and raise your A.R.M.Y Bombs as we illuminate the MOA Arena and make it brighter than BTS has ever seen it before. The 2017 BTS LIVE TRILOGY EPISODE III: THE WINGS TOUR IN MANILA is brought to you by BigHit Entertainment, CJ E&M, and PULP Live World. It will be held this May 6 and 7, 2017 at Mall of Asia Arena. May 6 (Day 1) show starts promptly at 7:30PM while May 7 (Day 2) show starts promptly at 6:00PM. Tickets go on sale on April 2, 2017 at all SM Tickets outlets nationwide. Call 470-2222 or log on to www.smtickets.com.

Billboard placed BTS as #1 on their Social 50 chart, making them the first Korean group to top the chart.

Founded in 2005 by music producer and former JYP composer “Hitman” Bang (Bang, Si Hyuk), BigHit Entertainment operates as a record label, talent management, music production, and music publishing house for BTS and other contracted artists.
