GUWAHATI:  The origin of the city is unknown, from the epic, puranas, and explored history it was estimated that it is one of the oldest city in Asia. There are a number of historical features in Guwahati. The Dighalipukhuri is a rectangular lake that was connected to the Brahmaputra, and was probably dug for naval reasons by the Ahoms. It is the gateway to northeastern India. The name is a combination of two words- Guwa meaning areca nut and Hat meaning market. Guwahati is the commercial nerve Centre of the Northeast. The city is situated in the bank of the mighty river Brahmaputra.

KAZIRANGA:  the National Park though regarded as the home for one horn rhino, it is also known as the abode of big five, Rhino, Elephant, Tiger, Asiatic water Buffalo, Deer. In 1985 the park was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and in 2006 the park was also declared as Tiger Project. The park got the 1st position for highest density of Tiger in India. It has more than 32 Tiger per sq kms.

The town is believed to be the place where Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, built a bridge across the sea to Lanka in order to rescue his wife Sita from the demon king Ravana. It is also known for the Agnitheertham, a sacred bath in the sea, which is believed to wash away one's sins and bestow blessings. Rameswaram is also important for its spiritual significance. It is one of the four sacred places in India, where it is believed that a dip in the sea will wash away all sins and help attain salvation.
