Enter Shikari announce massive UK tour for February 2024

The shows will benefit the music venue trust.

By Joe Goggins

Enter Shikari press shot, 2023

Enter Shikari have announced details of a huge UK tour for 2024, which will benefit the Music Venue Trust (MVT).

The St. Albans noiseniks celebrated their first-ever UK number one album last week, with seventh LP A Kiss for the Whole World , and have now announced that they’ll be taking the record to arenas next February, having just finished up a series of residencies at intimate venues around Britain in February and March.

They’ll kick off next year’s huge run in Leeds, before heading to Nottingham, Edinburgh, Manchester, Cardiff and London. You can see full details of the dates below. Support will come from Fever 333 and Noahfinnce at all shows.

In announcing the gigs, Enter Shikari have also revealed that they will donated £1 from every ticket sold to the MVT. “Grassroots music venues in the UK are under existential threat,” said frontman Rou Reynolds. “Every time we lose another one we lose a vital part of our culture. Bigger venues that benefit from the productive pipeline that grassroots venues provide need to support these smaller venues, as do the artists that have come up through them. Enter Shikari stands with Music Venue Trust in their efforts to bring more solidity and community to our brilliant UK live music scene.”

Tickets go on sale on Friday (May 5) here . A Kiss for the Whole World met with positive reviews on release last month. Nick Reilly suggested it heralded the start of a new chapter for the band in a four-star review for Rolling Stone UK , saying: “If this is the start of a new era of Shikari, then the incoming 2.0 looks very bright indeed. They remain the perennial rock underdogs and champions for the underground, but on the basis of this album at least you wouldn’t count against them lasting another 20 years.”

Enter Shikari, February 2024:

9 – Leeds, First Direct Arena

10 – Nottingham, Motorpoint Arena

12 – Edinburgh, O 2 Academy Edinburgh

14 – Manchester, O 2 Victoria Warehouse

15 – Manchester, O 2 Victoria Warehouse

16 – Cardiff, International Arena

17 – London, OVO Arena Wembley

Shared today (April 2), the upcoming tour will feature seven dates across the United Kingdom, taking place in early 2024. The live shows will not only celebrate the release of their latest LP, but also benefit grassroots music venues.

Kicking off with a show at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on February 12, the tour will see the St Albarns four-piece also perform in cities including Edinburgh, Nottingham and Cardiff, before drawing the shows to a close with a gig in London’s Wembley Arena on February 17.

Two back-to-back nights at the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester will also take place midway through the dates. Tickets go on sale this Friday (April 5) at 10am BST, and will be available here .

£1 from each ticket sale will be donated to the Music Venue Trust — which supports grassroots venues in each city the band will be touring through. The idea was spurred by the band’s incentive to give back to the local venues which continue to support them throughout their careers.

“Grassroots music venues in the UK are under existential threat. Every time we lose another one we lose a vital part of our culture,” explained frontman Rou Reynolds. “Bigger venues that benefit from the productive pipeline that grassroots venues provide need to support these smaller venues, as do the artists that have come up through them. Enter Shikari stands with Music Venue Trust in their efforts to bring more solidity and community to our brilliant UK live music scene.”

The tour will celebrate the release of their latest album, ‘A Kiss For The Whole World’ , which marked their first UK Number One. It also follows on the heels of the band’s recently-finished sold-out dates in the UK, Europe, Japan and the US. Fever 333 and Noahfinnce have been announced as support acts. In a four-star review of their latest LP , released last month, NME praised the rock band for conveying a message of positivity, that fits perfectly into the ongoing climate of the UK living situations. “Their message is as potent as ever as is the conviction,” it read.

“Amid the bleakness of cost-of-living-crisis Britain, the shot of joy it provides is a welcome tonic, particularly from unexpected quarters. Shikari have already mastered the feeling of the world retreating on their last record; this time, they’re positioning joy as an act of resistance.”

Additionally, the band explained their aim for the album in a discussion with NME earlier this year.

Taking place back in January, frontman Reynolds described the album as “explosive”, and capable of both capturing the band’s essence, but also push them into new territories. Discussing lead single ‘(Pls) Set Me On Fire’, he said: “That song encompasses the experience of the last few years. It’s the yearning for transcendency, creativity and being able to connect with people.”

“There’s an intensity to it. It’s got full verses of shouting or pitched screaming,” he continued. “It’s one of the most anguish-filled songs we’ve done for a long time. It’s got that original Shikari essence to it, really.”

12 enter shikari facts:, 1) shikari is the hindi word for 'hunter'.

While writing a play at school, Rou Reynolds named his main character 'Shikari', being inspired by his uncle's new boat with the same name. After a stage direction in one of Rou's play mentioned 'Enter Shikari', the band were so enamoured with the phrase that they decided to use it for their band name.

2) The ‘Sorry You’re Not A Winner’ video was filmed in Chris Batten’s parents' house

The video shows the band performing in the middle of the living room, surrounded by a gathering of fans and friends. It's said that the Batten family moved out of the house just a few days later.

3) Their shortest song is just 18 seconds long

The track is called 'Interlude 3' and appears on their debut studio album, 'Take To The Skies'. In some formats, the track does not appear on its own, but at the start of 'Sorry You're Not A Winner'.

4) Enter Shikari was originally a three-piece called HYBRYD

Rou Reynolds, Chris Batten and Rob Rolfe formed the band in 1999 after becoming friends at primary school. In 2003, guitarist Rory Clewlow joined the band and they changed their name to Enter Shikari.

5) Frontman Rou Reynolds is a published author

He has previously written Dear Future Historians, released in 2017, and The Spark in 2018. These have since been combined into a third book called Dear Future Historians: Lyrics and exegesis of Rou Reynolds for the music of Enter Shikari 2006-2019, released in 2019. The books feature essays, lyrics and exclusive photos, telling fans everything they could possibly need to know about the band and their music.

6) Each of the band members co-owns the independent record label, Ambush Reality

Created in 2006, the label was originally created as an exclusive outlet for the release of Enter Shikari's albums and songs. However, the band has since signed bands such as Baby Godzilla (now known as Heck) to their label.

7) Enter Shikari have won six Kerrang! Awards

As well as winning Best Live Band three times, Enter Shikari have also won Kerrang!'s Spirit of Independence award (2007), Best Single for 'Anaesthetist' (2015) and Best Album for 'The Spark' (2018). Frontman Rou Reynolds has also won Kerrang!'s Hero of the Year award (2012).

8) Enter Shikari broke a world record whilst playing at Reading Festival

Whilst performing on the main stage in 2009, the band broke the record for the most people crowd surfing over the barrier at a festival ever.

9) David Bowie was a big inspiration for the band

While the band were on their 'Stop The Clocks' tour in 2019, Rou Reynolds paid tribute to the music icon on the third anniversary of his death: "The band, like many other bands, wouldn't be here without David Bowie and his inspiration," before performing a cover of the Bowie hit ['Heroes' .

10) Enter Shikari self-produced 'Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible'

We caught up with the band on our new podcast Kerrang! Radio: The Lockdown Interviews ; when talking about self-producing their latest album, Rory explained: "I think the reason this record sounds like the most definitive Shikari record is because it's the first time we've properly self-produced a record, with Rou taking the major lead on production. It's had the least amount of outside influence other than us four in the band." He added: "I've always wanted to try doing a self-produced record, but circumstances never really allowed before, so this is the first chance we've had to do it. It's been such an amazing experience, and I think that really shows in the record. "I think it's a really interesting, fun record to listen to. I also think that's why it sounds like a greatest hits, and sounds like the most Shikari record, because it's got the most amount of Shikari in it."

11) Enter Shikari soundtracked Andy Murray's historic 2013 Wimbledon win

As well as having their tunes appear on such critically-acclaimed shows as Made in Chelsea, Bargain Hunt and The Antiques Roadshow, Shikari also soundtracked an historic TV moment. Their song 'Radiate' was played on TV to an audience of 17.3 million as Andy Murray walked onto the court during the Wimbledon men's singles final in 2013. Murray beat Novak Djokovic to become the first British man to win Wimbledon since 1936, and the first Scot to win it since 1896. Definitely thanks to Enter Shikari.

Electro-rockers Enter Shikari sponsored sixth tier football club St Albans City FC for the 2020 and 2021 season. "Growing up I was passionate about two things: football and music," said Enter Shikari bassist Chris Batten. "The reality is that sport and music go hand-in-hand when it comes to providing a positive outlet for young people, no matter what their background. SACFC lead the way with their community outreach programs and Enter Shikari couldn't be more proud to embark on a partnership with the club."

Enter Shikari announce massive 28-date UK tour

Enter Shikari will embark on the Stop The Clocks UK tour from December - the band’s longest ever tour of the country

enter shikari tour dates uk

Enter Shikari have announced their longest ever run of UK live dates.

Frontman Rou Reynolds, bassist Chris Batten, guitarist Liam Clewlow and drummer Rob Rolfe will play a total of 28 shows across the country on the Stop The Clocks tour.

Reynolds says: “Our most recent UK tours have been of the ‘eight or nine shows in arenas / big sheds’ variety, so we consciously wanted to switch it up a bit going into 2019.

“Enter Shikari have always kept dipping back into more intimate venues over the years, no matter how big our headline shows have become. That’s where we cut our teeth.

“The heat-sweat-and-visceral-human-connection of smaller gigs is every bit the equal of the impressive-scale-and-expensive-production of arena shows. We’ve never seen the latter as an evolution away from the former. They exist on opposite sides of the same coin for us.”

Reynolds adds: “It's also no secret that austerity and the looming potential disaster of Brexit have seen people having to be a lot more careful with how they spend their money.

“With things being what they are right now, it doesn’t seem fair for only those who can afford the travel to a major city for a night out – plus the inevitable other costs that go along with it – to be able to see a show.

“Playing 28 dates across the UK is our way of taking what we do back to as many people as possible, in the most intimate and direct way.”

Milk Teeth will be special guests on select dates, while other support artists will be announced in due course.

Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday (July 13) . See the tour poster below.

Enter Shikari will also play a headline set at this weekend’s 2000 Trees festival .

“When it comes to combining rave, metal and pop craftsmanship in songs that come with self-help messages and moral guidelines, nobody beats [Enter Shikari]” – The Times

Enter Shikari have long been noted for their gripping live shows and their ability to hold an audience in the palm of their hands. Multiple ‘Best Live Band’ award wins from the likes of the Kerrang! Awards, AIM Awards and Heavy Music Awards (where they are again nominated this year) – as well as a recent run of residency shows in the UK, Europe, US and Japan that sold out in minutes – say all that needs to be said about what the band’s live connection means to their legions of fans worldwide. And so with new album A Kiss for the Whole World last week giving them their first UK #1 album, the band have gone to the creative well yet again to devise the most thrilling and unique iteration of what the Enter Shikari live experience can be. Taking on some of the biggest stages they have ever played, Enter Shikari level up their live game once again.

It is this acknowledgement of the community and culture surrounding live music – and all that it has given to the band and their fans through the course of the last 20 years – that drives Enter Shikari to ceaselessly ramp up efforts to support them. This is why £1 from each ticket sale will be donated to the Music Venue Trust in support of grassroots venues in each city the band will be touring through.

Lead singer and producer Rou Reynolds comments on the initiative:

“Grassroots music venues in the UK are under existential threat. Every time we lose another one we lose a vital part of our culture. Bigger venues that benefit from the productive pipeline that grassroots venues provide need to support these smaller venues, as do the artists that have come up through them. Enter Shikari stands with Music Venue Trust in their efforts to bring more solidity and community to our brilliant UK live music scene”.

Joining the band on the tour will be a pair of artists established and emerging: Fever 333 and Noahfinnce. Enter Shikari first met Fever 333 vocalist Jason Aalon Butler when they took his former band, LetLive, on tour in Europe in 2011, and Noahfinnce became a firm friend when he supported the band on the first leg of the UK residency shows in February 2023.

Reynolds comments on what could be in store:

“We cannot wait to step things up and present a huge new show to everyone. And we’re really looking forward to playing Wembley Arena for the first time! (Enter Shikari are on their way to Wembley. Can you imagine what we’re gonna do to it?)

I’m buzzing to see the supports every night, too. We’ve known Jason for many years now, so can’t wait to see the next step for Fever333, and we had a great time with Noah on our residency tour earlier this year so simply had to have him back.”

The whole evening was awesome!

It started with "Flash Forward".

I did not know this band, but just after a few moments of listening to them, i kinda fell in love with their sound. Great perfomance.

Then "As it is" played and again....I was totally impressed by them. They did a great show on the stage. I really enjoyed listening to them.

And then finally Enter Shikari.

The crowd was so hyped and just after a few tones, everyone was jumping around and the moshpit started.

The lights, the sound.... The perfomance was just perfect and everyone was in such a good mood.

Never enjoyed it so much beeing in a crowd.

This was my fourth time seeing Enter Shikari, and it was the smallest venue that I have had the pleasure of being their audience. And honestly, it was the best show that I have seen them do.

The lights and sounds were phenomenal, and for such a small stage the band really owned it. They never fail to engage the crowd, showcasing just how much fun they are having as well as their audience. On top of this, we were also graced with not one but two confetti canons, perfectly blasted at the prime time to wow the crowd even more so than they already would have been.

It didn't come as a shock to me to spend nearly the entirety of the gig with all sides of my body glued to fellow Enter Shikari fans that were surrounding me. Especially since the venue, Rock City, is rather small. But ultimately, it is all part of the experience, and did not put a downer on my gig experience. This is coming from a 5"4 girl in her twenties.

Overall, this show has definitely settled a -not so difficult- decision for me. I am definitely going to see them again.

This was the second time I’ve seen Shikari live, and I’ve booked my next 4 times too! They never fail to disappoint. My favourite concert before this one, was Shikari at Alexandra Palace but somehow they managed to outdo themselves! The energy is incredible and the sense of belonging, family and community is so high it’s beautiful. 10/10 would recommend seeing them live to anyone who listens :)

Enter Shikari announce biggest headline UK tour yet with a double bill of Manchester shows following first-ever No. 1 album

Shikari are on top form right now and Mancs will get two chances to see them early next year.

Danny Jones

Fresh off the first UK Number 1 album of their careers, alt-rock legends Enter Shikari have announced their biggest-ever British headline tour next February.

Enter Shikari have been on the scene since 1999 and have gone on to become one of the country’s biggest exports, so it’s about time they got the full recognition they deserve, with their new album A Kiss From The World taking top spot on the album charts on Friday, 28 April — their first-ever UK No.1.

To celebrate, the veteran rockers from St Albans will be treating us to not one but two shows in Manchester , while every other city is only getting one. Guess that’s what you get when you’re a music mecca.

If you’ve never been to a Shikari gig before, you’ll want to be at one of these.

Having finished up their Manchester residency shows at New Century Hall just last month, the four-piece are wasting no time in kickstarting the next stage of this new album cycle and will be heading back out on the road come 9 February 2024.

Starting out in Leeds’ First Direct Arena, they arrive at legendary O2 Victoria Warehouse on 14 February, playing two nights in front of thousands of Mancs before bringing the tour to a close at Wembley on 17 Feb.

It may be a bit of a whirlwind tour with only six venues across seven dates — all in the space of nine days, no less — but the ‘fast and furious’ approach is very on-brand when it comes to these lads.

We spoke to them earlier this year, just before starting their run of shows at New Century and they only further confirmed that to be the case, insisting that this latest album is “full of nothing but bangers”.

Better still, the band are going to donate £1 for every ticket sold to the Music Venue Trust in support of grassroots music venues in each city on the tour. Nicely done, boys.

The AO Arena in Manchester has finally unveiled its new VIP bar and restaurant, The Mezz, as part of its £50m redevelopment.

The luxurious new space promises to elevate the gig-going experience with five-star hospitality before, during and after every show at the huge venue.

There’s the restaurant space, of course, where the menu of modern British cuisine has been worked on by Simon Rogan MBE (of three-Michelin star L’Enclume) and Tom Barnes (of soon-to-open Skof in Manchester).

The pair will be working on quarterley seasonal dishes, which currently includes a roast rump of Herdwick lamb with onions and split pea; and a lightly-set jasmine cream with white chocolate and rose for dessert.

And members of The Mezz will gain priority reservation access to restaurants across the UMBEL portfolio, which are among the best and most sought-after tables in the world.

Then across the way from the restaurant is The Mezz bar, where there’s a menu packed with signature cocktails, fine wines and champagnes.

The bar area remains open throughout every gig – so no more scrambling to get served in the main arena bars.

The Mezz has been built above one of the AO Arena's new bars

There’s no rush to leave either. The Mezz bar remains open for several hours after the curtain falls, with DJs providing post-show entertainment.

Once you’ve eaten and drank your fill and are ready for the show, you can head up a short flight of stairs and find yourself in prime position in the AO Arena .

With plush best-in-house seats and a clear view straight-on to the stage, The Mezz’s audience experience is sure to set a new gold standard for arenas everywhere.

The Mezz restaurant at the AO Arena

The new hospitality area sits between the new concourse and the 23,000-capacity arena bowl.

VIPs who have already tested it out include Brian McFadden, Jorgie Porter, Rachel Lugo and Peter Hook, who all attended a glittering red carpet launch night and watched Niall Horan perform.

Member perks include guaranteed attendance for all shows at the AO Arena, direct access to the arena bowl, early access via a dedicated VIP entrance, dedicated parking, all-inclusive food and drink, a private cocktail bar, a private dedicated table in the restaurant and personalised service including a cloakroom boasting the latest in venue technology, members app and portal, and dedicated host service. Pretty fancy.

But of course, all this luxury comes at a price. Memberships for The Mezz start from £3,500 – that gets you access to 10 shows and The Mezz Bar (for 10 shows with The Mezz Dining it’s £4,000).

And if you want to really soak in all the action with a 50-show membership, that’s £8,500 for the bar or £12,500 for the restaurant.

The Libertines add third extra Manchester gig

British indie and post-punk icons The Libertines have added an extra Manchester date to their upcoming UK comeback tour as more and more shows are selling out.

After announcing their highly-anticipated return with a huge gig at the legendary Albert Hall here in Manchester city centre, The Libertines have now been forced into adding not only a second but a third extra date due to overwhelming numbers of tickets already sold.

Set to release their first new record in nine years entitled, All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade on Friday, 15 March, the London-based rockers are coming back with a bang and it’s clear the demand for their revival is well and truly there.

Now playing adding the Saturday night to their sell-out Thursday and Friday shows at Albert Hall from 7-9 November — London being the only other city on the UK tour to be graced with three dates — the Manchester music scene will be welcoming them back with open arms.

Due to incredible demand we’ve added one more date in Manchester Albert Hall! Pre-sale goes live at 9am Wednesday 6th March then on general sale 9am Friday 8th March x 🎟️ https://t.co/x3eKW7UpKe pic.twitter.com/tHmw7Z37Zn — Libertines (@libertines) March 4, 2024

The Libertines’ fourth studio LP comes nearly a decade on from the reunion following their 10-year split and with co-frontman Pete Doherty now in a much healthier place after struggles with addiction issues, it looks like the creative juices are well and truly flowing.

Scheduled to release on Friday, 5 April, the early reviews for the new album are looking strong, with the likes of Hot Press calling it “The most evolutionary record in The Libertines’ cannon…a pure gem” and The Guardian already dubbing it “a classic Libertines album”.

Strong words considering how long the four-piece have been away and how their rifts have limited the amount of music they’ve produced since they first formed all the way back in 1997.

Also set to play an acoustic out-store event with Crash Records at Manchester Academy on Saturday, 6 April (which also sold out in a flash) we won’t pretend to be anything other than very excited to see what they’ve come up with. We also love what we’ve heard so far:

Pre-sale for The Libertines’ third and final Manchester date has already gone live and general admission tickets will be available from 9am tomorrow (Friday, 8 March).

You best be quick if you want one last chance to be at these long-waited comeback gigs.

We can’t wait to be bouncing around one of Manchester’s very best music venues to ‘Don’t Look Back Into the Sun’, ‘Music When the Lights Go Out’ and all the new ones later this year.

Be ready and waiting to grab yours HERE and in the meantime, there are a lot of big gigs coming up this month too.

Here’s Enter Shikari’s setlist from the first night of their UK tour

Enter Shikari’s biggest-ever UK headline tour began last night in Leeds, where they delved into every corner of their back catalogue – from Live Outside to Sssnakepit to Giant Pacific Octopus…

Here’s Enter Shikari’s setlist from the first night of their UK tour

Last night at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, Enter Shikari kicked off their A Kiss For The Whole World UK tour with FEVER 333 and NOAHFINNCE .

Having dropped their 4K-rated seventh album last year, the St Albans synth-slingers are taking it into some of the biggest arenas in the country, culminating at Shikari's first-ever Wembley Arena show on February 17.

Packing six newies into a stonking 26-song setlist, every era of Shikari is accounted for – from the joyous { The Dreamer's Hotel } to the thumping Anaesthetist to the moshtastic ...Meltdown. Of course, with FEVER 333 on the bill, Jason Aalon Butler also made an appearance for the live debut of latest single Losing My Grip , which Rou Reynolds previously explained is about "the fight to stay sane whilst living in a deeply and dangerously flawed system."

If you're heading to Enter Shikari's UK tour, here's a look at what's in store for you. That run from Stand Your Ground... into Enter Shikari into Mothership is going to be daft.

'Enter Shikari have taken a lead': UK rock act's arena tour to help support grassroots venues

'Enter Shikari have taken a lead': UK rock act's arena tour to help support grassroots venues

The Music Venue Trust (MVT) has signed a funding agreement with Enter Shikari.

The band’s latest album, A Kiss for the Whole World, is at No.1 in the UK this week .

The partnership will see £1 from every ticket sold for Enter Shikari’s 2024 UK arena tour go towards supporting grassroots music venues via the charity’s Pipeline Investment Fund.

MVT has made the case that it should be mandatory for all new arenas being built in the UK to make a statutory contribution from ticket sales towards supporting the grassroots live music sector. It has recently stepped up calls for arena operators, and the wider live music industry, to support this initiative.

As outlined in Mark Davyd’s Music Week column , MVT believes that no more arenas should open to host live music events in the UK until a “reliable and sustainable future talent pipeline that warrants them being opened is guaranteed”. The Trust has also suggested that planning permission should only be granted to new arenas based on a financial commitment to nurture and develop new artists to fill the stages of the proposed development.

MVT CEO Mark Davyd said: “Music Venue Trust believes that it is the responsibility of the whole music ecosystem - artists, agents, managers, promoters, arenas and stadiums - to ensure that new and developing artists have a place to play in their local community. Every musician needs a place where they can play the first song they wrote themselves in front of their first audience on their first stage. The way to make sure the UK continues to be a major force for music around the world is to ensure that every time anyone invests in a ticket to a major event, a small part of the money they are spending is making its way back to the grassroots music venues where every artist begins their career.

“It comes as no surprise to us that Enter Shikari have become the first major arena headlining artist to strike out and make this happen; throughout the life of the Charity, Rou, Chris, Rob, and Rory have been right at the forefront of the campaign to protect, secure and improve the UK's grassroots music venues.”

This is our challenge to the rest of the music ecosystem: Don't sit around waiting for other people to do it Mark Davyd

Enter Shikari lead singer and producer Rou Reynolds , who is also a patron of Music Venue Trust, said: “Grassroots music venues in the UK are under existential threat. Every time we lose another one we lose a vital part of our culture. Bigger venues that benefit from the productive pipeline that grassroots venues provide need to support these smaller venues, as do the artists that have come up through them. Enter Shikari stands with Music Venue Trust in their efforts to bring more solidity and community to our brilliant UK live music scene".

Mark Davyd added: “Every ticket you buy to see Shikari's arena tour will contribute to keeping local community music venues alive and thriving. This is our challenge to the rest of the music ecosystem: Don't sit around waiting for other people to do it. Enter Shikari have taken a lead, everyone in the music ecosystem can follow. If they can make it work, so can you, join us; be part of creating a positive future for the UK's live music industry.”

Enter Shikari’s 2024 UK arena tour dates are below. Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 5.
