We were in Assisi for our daughter's wedding and had a free day. We somehow found this business through the internet. I emailed to find out if they had bikes available, and received a prompt, positive reply from the owner, Petra (who speaks great English). They offered to deliver the bikes to our hotel, but we were driving around so decided to go to them. Petra and her husband Paolo could not have been more helpful, kind and patient with us. We decided on their suggestion to rent E-bikes, which were very fun and extended our range a great distance. They gave us written directions for two long rides, which were very clear and detailed. Paolo came to our hotel to retrieve the bikes. These are very knowledgable and honest people. I cannot recommend them highly enough

Walking into the nature without haste and by following the own rhythm, admiring breathtaking views, climbing sinuous hills and breathing fresh air, discovering lush forests and flourishing valleys or walking alongside lively streams and observing them ending in deep blue lakes. This is the philosophy of Ecological Tours that since 2000 organizes short trips in bicycle and excursions on greenways among beautiful landscapes which will lead you discovering historic and eternal sites and other natural and artistic beauties in Umbria, Toscana and within the whole Italian and European territory.

The safety level of our tours is checked and verified every year by our collaborators and competent guides licensed by the Region. Each tour (as, for instance, the bike short trips and the hiking’s activities) could be organized as a group tour or an individual one - each one assisted by the telephonic or the frontal assistance of our collaborators, and with the possibility of choosing between different difficulty levels. Ecological Tours is a travel agency that aims to protect the surrounding territory and to encourage a responsible tourism. Our agency supports the non-profit association Trees For All and in particular its project in the Philippines for the restocking of woods and the consequent reduction of the Earth pollution’s level and the no-profit organization World Bicycle Relief which works in poor and disadvantage country with the purpose of distributing bikes and transforming them in sources of life and progress. In 2011, Ecological Tours won the Premio Turismo Cultura awarded by the Unesco, a price assigned to travel operators and agencies that organize and promote trips in destinations recognized by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.  Indeed, besides to the naturalistic trips and excursions, Ecoligical Tour offers tours and visits in historical villages and cities that own artistic architectural heritage of rare value, where it is still possible to listen and to have conversations with the locals in order to learn about histories and traditions, or simply to take a break for tasting typical delicacies and wines made by local producers, authentic “sources” of the true gastronomic taste!

In addition, we promote events with the aim of creating synergy between people and territory as we are convinced that what is surrounding us today is our present but yet the future for the next generations and preserving it and taking care of it, it really means living in a better world.

Highlights of Costa Rica

Our group of six enjoyed the trip. We were happy to see the monkeys, sloths, and different insects, but were disappointed that we only saw one toucan and one parrot. Our guide, Juan Carlos, was very knowledgeable and he, along with our great driver, Gustavo, tried very hard for find animals for us. The itinerary changed and because we did not know when we would be at different sites we could not make advanced reservations for things like parasailing or white water rafting which were listed as optional activities that we could book on our own. We found your website very frustrating since we had to enter the same information in numerous times. The hotels and buffets were okay, nothing special. We are not sure we would book with this company again.

Vietnam Motorcycle Tour to Pu Luong, Mai Chau, Tam Coc, Hoa Lu

Home stay accommodation was excellent and we saw a wide range of the cuisine that the region has to offer. The roads and the riding experience was something else altogether, from the chaos of weaving through Hanoi traffic to narrow and quiet village tracks. Every day was different and exciting.

We had a great time, it was the perfect level of cycling to get our boys into the idea of vacationing by bike again in the future. We also were lucky enough to be in Torgiano the night of a big food and wine festival, which was really fun to experience. Thank you again for arranging such a wonderful vacation for us!

We returned home from Italy about two weeks ago and I felt it would be amiss of me not to touch base with you and thank you for your assistance in arranging the Medieval villages walk in Umbria. We spent a month in Italy and the walk was in our first week of being in the country. Friends keep asking us, what was the highlight and we keep saying that whilst it was all fantastic, we absolutely loved the simplicity of the walk and our favourite accommodation of the entire trip was definitely Assisi (please pass this onto them). It was such a lovely setting, relaxed and the staff were just so lovely and helpful and the place was so clean and the pool just made it extra relaxing, so Im so glad we stayed extra nights before the walk. All of the accommodation was excellent, but Assisi did feel special. The walk itself was fabulous. The instructions were good and the GPS App worked really well except for in one section when it indicated that we were off track by quite a bit but we stuck to the written instructions and that got us through. 

So many thanks from Mat and myself and it was lovely to meet you in Assis and we appreciate the wonderful service and support you provided.

Anytime is a good time but take into account that from December to April is our dry season o summer, but remember that this is our busiest time of the year. In the Caribbean side, the dry season is from July to October, keep in mind Costa Rica is a tropical country rain showers any time of the year, and it is cooler in the mountains than in the lowlands. 10 Razones para hacer un Eco Tour

La palabra Ecología se define como “Las relaciones entre el aire, la tierra, el agua, los animales, las plantas, etc., generalmente de un área en particular, o el estudio científico de ello”. ( Diccionario de Cambridge ) ‘Ecología, como el estado de vida y la estructura del medio ambiente. Combinar la ecología y el turismo de una manera que no dañe el medio ambiente y permita al viajero aprender sobre el medio ambiente es el acto del ecoturismo.

Al observar y experimentar la naturaleza, podemos aprender sobre sus funciones y mecanismos. En los viajes ecológicos que realizan las actividades que protegen la vida silvestre y el medio ambiente natural, y preservan los sitios arqueológicos y las culturas indígenas, tenemos la oportunidad de participar activamente en los esfuerzos de preservación.

Hay tres pilares principales del concepto de ecoturismo para el turismo sostenible: la conservación de la naturaleza y la cultura, el retorno económico a las comunidades locales y las experiencias de aprendizaje de los viajeros. Un eco tour es un recorrido que convierte estas experiencias en las acciones.

1.Contribuir a la protección del medio ambiente a través de eco tours

Los eco tours en sí incluyen las actividades destinadas a la protección del medio ambiente (como plantar árboles y mantener senderos, etc.). De meren van het Salzkammergut

Het Salzkammergut met zijn 76 bergmeren is het grootste merengebied van Oostenrijk. In 1997 nam UNESCO het Salzkammergut en de Oostenrijkse meren op als Werelderfgoed. Het is niet alleen een uitstekend vakantiegebied voor waterliefhebbers, maar ook voor wandelaars en mountainbikers.
