Giada De Laurentiis has cemented her place in the Las Vegas culinary lexicon

Your first Las Vegas restaurant, Giada, is approaching its 10-year anniversary. It's a Vegas institution at this point. Did you anticipate that this restaurant would see this kind of success when you first opened the doors? What do you attribute that to?

Firstly, I have the most amazing team, many of which have been with me all 10 years. The location, the warmth, the food, and the hospitality are amazing as well. Caesars has been a great partner for me and has helped so much along the way.

Were you friends with Martha Stewart before her debut in Vegas? Have you had the chance to hang out with her or your other fellow neighbor, Lisa Vanderpump?

Martha Stewart and Lisa Vanderpump are both great, and I have spent time with both of them. We are all part of the Caesars family.

Roughly a quarter million servings of your famous (and delicious!) lemon spaghetti have been dished up since Giada first opened. What makes this dish so craveable?

It's light, but it's decadent and makes you feel like you've been transported to the Amalfi coast in July. Consistency is important, and the team executes it flawlessly. What's not to love?

High-quality ingredients are the key to elevating your Italian dishes

For beginners who want to try making their own pasta noodles, what's the best type to start with? What's the most important thing to keep in mind?

It's important to focus on the ingredients you're using. A big workspace, weighing your ingredients, and investing in 00 flour  — I get mine on Giadzy  — are key. And definitely use a pasta machine your first time!

What's your favorite cheesy pasta dish? Any tips you can share for people who want to try making it?

Pecorino Tartufo and cacio e pepe are my favorite dishes. Always use quality ingredients and give yourself plenty of time and space while cooking.

Parmigiano Reggiano is such a common go-to for Americans when topping pastas and making Italian-inspired dishes. What is your favorite, more under-the-radar Italian cheese that we should be appreciating more — and what are the best dishes to use it in?

Ricotta Salata is my favorite, and I love to put it over top grilled radicchio.

How to master brunch like Giada De Laurentiis

The brunch menu at Giada is very popular — what's your favorite dish on the menu?

It depends on my mood! Lately, I've been loving the avocado toast with cacio e pepe eggs and cherry tomatoes — it's amazing.

A personal favorite of mine is your grilled cheese panini. What's the secret to achieving the perfect melt and crispy outer texture when making them a home?

Add mayonnaise to the outside of the bread; it works every time.

Another brunch staple — a frittata. There's a lot of room for error when making these at home, from the pan used to the ingredients to the stovetop-to-oven ratio. What are your top tips and tricks for cooking frittata?

When I make a frittata at home, I like to use a nonstick pan. I usually add whatever little bits of leftovers I have in my fridge ... Some of my favorites are grated parmesan, prosciutto or bacon bits, smoked mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, and olives. I always add a little milk to the eggs to help with the fluffy texture. Bake in the oven and serve with a little arugula salad on top!

Brunch isn't complete without cocktails — and it seems like Italian cocktails are having a moment. The Aperol spritz was all the rage a few years ago, and last year, the Negroni sbagliato was extremely popular. What do you think is going to be the next trendy Italian cocktail in 2023?

I think the Milano-Torino will be the next trendy Italian cocktail this year.

Giada De Laurentiis shares some of her Italian favorites

Do you have any favorite Italian restaurants here in the states, or shops to get great authentic Italian ingredients?

Giada at The Cromwell is my favorite, of course! I also love e. baldi in Beverly Hills. Oh, and giadzy.com always offers the best ingredients.

What cheeses, meats, and accouterments are must-haves for you on the perfect charcuterie board? Do you have any unique favorites you love to include?

Cerignola green olives, Taralli crackers, an amazing jam, and endless cheeses and meats are must-haves. I always keep my pantry stocked to make an amazing board.

What do you think about the growing resurgence of canned fish — from tuna, to anchovies, to sardines, smoked shellfish, and more? What are some of your favorite ways to incorporate tinned fish into your meals?

I love it! Canned fish elevates so many dishes like pasta and chicken — I'm obsessed with the new Armatore bluefin tuna on Giadzy.

She has a lot of delicious things in store

You just got back from Italy — how was that? Anything you can share about what you were working on during your visit and some of the amazing things you ate while there?

Yes! My recent trip to Italy was amazing, as always. These trips are focused on getting boots on the ground for my commerce platform, Giadzy. From trying the products to meeting the purveyors to learning the stories, these trips are so important for making and sustaining meaningful relationships.

You've also got new restaurants set to open at the Caesars hotel in Scottsdale. How will Luna set itself apart from your original Giada restaurant? Can you share any highlights from the menu you're developing?

I am very excited about Luna. It will be more coastal Italian than Giada at The Cromwell, but you will still be able to find some of our signature items there. We are also putting a heavy focus on tableside presentations, like tableside mozzarella and tableside cacio e pepe. Our goal is to activate the dining room and bring it to life through creative service.

You recently launched Giada catering, which you say has been a lifelong dream of yours. What are you most excited about in terms of this chapter of your career?

Yes, catering is taking me full circle, back to my roots as a private chef and cooking in people's homes. I am excited to reimagine and redefine the traditional catering experience. We are not only offering food but also branded experiences, like our Amalfi, Milan, or Rome packages, all of which I have personally curated from design and decor to create completely authentic Italian experiences around food and great hospitality.

Chef Giada De Laurentiis Has a Stunning Pacific Palisades Bungalow! Tour Her Newly Renovated Home

Home is where the heart is! You can always count on Giada De Laurentiis to craft up delicious recipes on one of her hit Food Network shows. The Italian American chef loves spending time in her gorgeous kitchen or hanging out in her cozy living room with her daughter, Jade Thompson . Giada moved into her new California home in October 2021, a private haven with gorgeous decor. 

Giada sold her other Pacific Palisades home in December 2019 for $7 million. She purchased a new residence in the same neighborhood for $4.86 million, according to Architectural Digest . The Giada Entertains host began two years of home renovations to create the perfect space for herself and her daughter. She was finally able to live in the space in the fall of 2021. 

“The last couple of years, yes, we’ve been in COVID, but also I’ve been sort of disoriented with half of my stuff in boxes, making it impossible to find things,” Giada told People after moving into her stunning pad. “And so finally, I feel unpacked and settled.”

The four-bedroom home has plenty of closet space and a guesthouse for all of Giada’s famous friends to come and visit. The bottom floor of the house boasts a wine room and a game room. The cookbook author shared updates on the home renovation process with her fans in an Instagram video in February 2020. The entire interior of the house was gutted to make way for all of Giada’s big design ideas, including a customized bedroom for Jade. 

“I got work to do. And it’s gonna take me probably the whole year to do it,” Giada said in the video.

The television personality was able to host her family for Thanksgiving in her new home in 2021, just as her curated holiday collection with Bloomingdales dropped. To help reduce stress during the holiday, Giada assigned each of her family members a dish to make for the affair.

“We missed our families for the last couple of years. I think that [the season has] become even more special than it was before. We’ve learned not to take things for granted,” Giada told Harper’s Bazaar in November 2021. “Our lives have been turned upside down, and it is wonderful to finally feel like it’s safe to be together again.”

The living room and dining room both follow a neutral color scheme. For some bursts of color, vintage fashion and television posters were added to the walls.

The chef’s cat is a big fan of the cozy wool sofa chairs that are spread out through the living room. The perfect amount of sunlight seeps in from the windows in the main area of the house.

Giada is a queen of the kitchen and really brought her vision to life with the gorgeous marble walls and long kitchen island. There is plenty of space to prep food, film her shows or have a seat to enjoy one of her delicious meals.

Coolest Kitchen Hack

It’s no surprise that Giada’s kitchen has the latest appliances and gadgets. The television host had a pot filler installed on the wall above her oven to make boiling water as convenient as possible.

Ready to Entertain

For her first Thanksgiving in her new home, Giada entertained guests in her spacious living and dining area. She set out a spread of food on her marble countertop and posed for photos in front of her double oven and white cabinets. A huge dining table was decorated with cream-colored tableware for the holiday, offering guests ample places to sit.

Giada’s home has a massive backyard, perfect for her dogs to run around and play. 

Holiday Cheer

Giada and Jade decorated their Christmas tree for the first time in their new living room. They went with a silver and gold theme for the tree with no shortage of twinkling lights. Massive windows and glass doors in the living room give them the opportunity to look out at the stunning view of the pool whenever they want. 

Coffee Time

One of the coolest parts of the entire kitchen is the built-in coffee maker. Whenever Giada wants to enjoy a nice cup of espresso, all she has to do is press a button.

Fitting with the theme of the rest of the home, Giada’s bathroom is decked out in beautiful marble. The glass shower and the giant white bathtub are some of the highlights in the bathroom fit for a queen.

Giada showed fans a glimpse of her pantry where she perfectly organized all of her ingredients in glass jars.

Food Network fans are likely familiar with chef Giada De Laurentiis, who hosts the competition series "Food Network Star" and her own shows, "Everyday Italian," "Giada at Home," and "Giada Entertains."

The celebrity chef , cookbook author, and restaurateur recently sold her home in Los Angeles neighborhood Pacific Palisades for $7 million, a representative for Compass Real Estate told Insider in a statement via email. The property was listed by Smith Cho of Compass .

Celebrity chef Giada de Laurentiis recently sold this $7 million home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, which was built in 2015.

The 6,500-square-foot home was built in 2015 and has five bedrooms, as well as five and a half bathrooms, a representative for Compass Real Estate told Insider via email.  

Architectural Digest reported that De Laurentiis purchased the home in January 2016.

Inside, the open-concept living space leads up to a galley-style kitchen with a 24-foot-long island.

It's only fitting that the home of a celebrity chef would be equipped with professional-grade, stainless-steel appliances and sleek counters that are ideal for food prep.

It's not out of the question that this kitchen saw the making of De Laurentiis' most popular recipes, such as spaghetti bolognese and lasagna rolls.

From fried ravioli to paninis and her famous bolognese sauce , De Laurentiis is known for her take on Italian cuisine, which she shares with fans on her Food Network shows. 

Beyond the luxurious kitchen, the home has a two-sided fireplace ...

De Laurentiis' home decor featured mostly cool-toned neutrals with pops of metallic accents and bold colors, such as reds and purples.

... and an inviting dining area, likely where many of De Laurentiis' Italian family dishes were enjoyed.

De Laurentiis, who was born in Rome, Italy, moved to the US when she was a child. De Laurentiis told Insider writer Cheyenne Lentz that cooking her family's traditional Italian recipes has always been an important part of her life, especially when she first moved to America.

"My family takes their culture very seriously, so even when we moved to the US, we still lived very Italian lives," De Laurentiis told Insider. "We spoke Italian at home, we only ate Italian food — and let me tell you, back in the late '70s and early '80s, people were not as proud of their unique heritage as they are now."

De Laurentiis said she takes pride in the way she was raised.

"Even though it was a tough transition, I'm glad now that my family took our culture so seriously — it's something I embrace so deeply today," De Laurentiis told Insider.

Outside, there's an elegant patio and infinity pool.

The patio at De Laurentiis' former home overlooks Potrero Canyon in the distance, a representative for Compass said in an email — making for incredible sunset and mountain views.

The home's lower level has a walk-in wine storage nook illuminated with elegant blue lights.

Any hearty Italian meal pairs well with wine , so it makes sense that De Laurentiis' home featured a walk-in wine cooler.

There's also a game and media room, which has below-ground views of the swimming pool.

The house is filled with unique design features, like the porthole-inspired windows in the basement.

Upstairs, the home's master bathroom looks onto a spacious balcony.

The bedroom also has a marble fireplace, which adds a cozy touch to the neutral space.

The master bathroom is about as spa-like as it gets, with marble floors and a jacuzzi surrounded by frosted glass.

The serene bathroom would be the perfect place to relax after a long day in the kitchen.

There's also a hefty walk-in closet, complete with skylights and modern finishes.

Talk about a dreamy storage space for all the shoes, accessories, and clothes imaginable. 

The upstairs balcony has another fireplace and lounge area, and would make the perfect desert-inspired escape.

The home seems to blend indoor and outdoor spaces with its spacious patio and upper-level balcony and picturesque nature views.
