Avril Lavigne is one of my favorite artists in the pop/rock genre and for good reason.

She has incredible stage presence and really works hard to draw you into each and every stage performance that she does. The best part about her performances to me is that rather than always have a full band play her songs she sometimes prefers to instead sing over a simple acoustic guitar and light piano. It would be easy to sing over loud music to hide mistakes in performance, but in singing over simple low music she is able to project her natural voice and show those in the audience her natural talent without the extra things that could have helped to enhance it. This shows that she has complete confidence in her own voice and this also carries into her confidence on stage at every performance.

During "Let Me Go" the audience slowly moves from side to side as they listen to her sing and they keep quiet for long enough to ensure that she is able to sing clearly and only choose to cheer in areas of the song that encourage it.

If I had to nail down a part of the performance that draws me to see Avril Lavigne sing and perform live it would be the fact that she refuses to do anything to hide her natural singing voice and instead does everything in her power to ensure that everyone in the audience knows she is actually singing. She has come a long way from her early days and songs like this show her extreme talent and her wide vocal range.

With each one of her performances I really feel that she is speaking to me and it really does feel as if she understands the thoughts and feelings of people in all different walks of life. She never goes over the top, and shows that that's not necessary to project a message through her song that she wants to convey.

EXCELLENT!! Avril sang from her newest album as well as from Let Go and and many in between. Watching her sing 'Skater Boi' while the screen behind her showed her early video was endearing. She is as beautiful today as much as she was a spunky rebel years ago singing 'Complicated'. For 2 of the songs she was playing the piano. Her costume changes were perfect for the songs she performed--if you can picture the album covers, you have the right idea. Don't miss her is she appears in your city; get seats close to the stage if you can. She really encourages the audience to sing along with her.

Hi I really enjoyed the show, despite being somewhat short. I bought a red rose for her and when she was singing in front of our section, I noticed she smiled. I resent not taking a picture. I have been a fan of hers since 2002.

The show was good but very short. Not a lot of songs from her new album. Was disappointing to say the least - especially for a hometown show. We would have loved to hear more complete versions from her new album.

This was my first time seeing Avril Lavigne. She did a lot of old songs and messed up the ending of Happy Endings. She did a few new songs. Overall I had fun.

Avril Lavigne announces July 2024 UK shows with Simple Plan

Pop punk icon Avril Lavigne is coming to the UK next summer for two outdoor shows.

The ‘Complicated’ and ‘Sk8er Boi’ hitmaker will play Cardiff Castle on Tuesday 2nd July and Manchester Castlefield Bowl on Wednesday 3rd July.

The special guests at both concerts will be Avril Lavigne’s fellow Canadian purveyors of pop punk, Simple Plan.

Tickets to the Cardiff and Manchester concerts go on sale from Kerrang! Radio Tickets at 9am on Friday 1st December.

Featuring guest spots from blink-182’s Mark Hoppus and Machine Gun Kelly, Avril Lavigne’s latest album ‘Love Sux’ charted at Number 3 in the UK in February 2022.

Avril Lavigne to Play Gigs in UK with Simple Plan 

Pop-punk queen Avril Lavigne announced two outdoor shows in the UK this summer featuring Simple Plan as special guests. The first performance will take place at the Cardiff Castle in Wales on July 2 followed by a performance on July 3 at the Castlefield Bowl in Manchester – with Avril Lavigne becoming part of the Sounds of the City Series. 

The upcoming U.K. shows are not isolated events; the gigs are part of a broader European tour celebrating the “Sk8er Boi,” singer’s newest album released in 2022, Love Sux. Lavigne is scheduled to begin her tour on June 13 in Austria and weave through Spain, Italy, Germany, and France throughout June and July before her final performance on July 12 at Festival Cruïlla in Sant Adrià De Besòs, Spain. 

Fans can expect to hear a wide range of Lavigne’s top hits such as “My Happy Ending,” “Girlfriend,” “Complicated,” and “When You’re Gone.” 

Presale tickets for the show at Cardiff Castle in Wales on July 2 will start at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, followed by a general on sale starting December 1 at 10 a.m.

There seems to be an early noughties renaissance happening at the moment, with Nickelback tickets being announced and Blink 182 headlining Reading and Leeds Festival , and now Pop Punk queen Lavigne is coming to the UK to perform two headline shows.

Back in the early noughties, nobody was doing it like Lavigne; the Canadian singer’s tank top and tie combo, cargo trousers, and studded bracelets paired with signature charcoal eye makeup was something school-age us could only dream of replicating.

The Going Out team has essentially grown up with Lavigne, so it’s hard to believe there was a time where the world’s ears weren’t blessed with ballads like When You're Gone and I’m With You. Lavigne’s big break came at the age of 14 when she won a radio competition to duet with That Don't Impress Me Much singer Shania Twain. The duo sung What Made You Say That, and it proved to be such a success that Lavigne left school to pursue music full time.

The rest — as they say — is history! The Girlfriend singer went on to achieve three UK number ones with her first three albums; her debut album Let Go featured the smash-hit singles Sk8r Boi and Complicated, and it earned her five Grammy Award nominations and multi-Platinum status in the UK, making her the youngest solo artist to score a number one album this side of the pond, at aged 17.

Avril Lavigne Reschedules 2022 European Tour To 2023

Avril Lavigne has once again rescheduled her upcoming 2022 European tour in support of her 2019 album Head Above Water and upcoming Love Sux album . Originally scheduled to take place in 2020, the dates were rescheduled for 2021, then for spring 2022, and have been pushed for the third time to 2023 due to ongoing restrictions.

Lavigne will now be hitting the road from April through May 2023, stopping at major cities in Italy, Germany, and the U.K., including three shows in London and one in Manchester. Lavigne will still be playing some live shows in 2022 but only in her home country of Canada. Her Bite Me 2022 Canada Tour, kicking off May 3 is still set to happen.

Lavigne released Head Above Water in 2019 as her sixth studio album, and the latest full-length release since her 2013 self-titled album. The 12-track record was written about her battle with Lyme disease, a diagnosis that she revealed to the public in 2015. “I was bedridden for five months,” she told People magazine about the severity of her symptoms at the time. “I felt like I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t talk and I couldn’t move[...] I thought I was dying.”

In the time since, Lavigne has experienced a resurgence with her career timed alongside a pop-punk renaissance in pop culture. In 2020, she released new music with her boyfriend, MOD SUN, and Willow, the youngest Smith. Their very 2000s music video for their joint track “G R O W” was released in 2021. Lavigne has also been gearing up to release her anticipated next album titled Love Sux which will usher in a return to her pop-punk roots and is expected to drop on Feb. 25.

Avril Lavigne announces “only south of England headline show” at Bedford Park

Tickets for the exclusive performance go on sale later this week

Avril Lavigne has announced a show at Bedford Park this summer – her only headline performance in the south of England this year.

The pop-punk star will be performing at the Bedford Summer Sessions on Saturday, June 29.

She’ll join a summer line-up running across June and July that includes Tom Jones , James , Nile Rodgers & CHIC , Jess Glynne and DJ Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics.

Weekend One passes are on sale now, which will get fans access to both Glynne and Lavigne, before general sale tickets for Lavigne go on sale Friday (February 16) at 9am GMT from here .

Along with a number of other UK dates planned for the summer, Lavigne has  announced details of a US greatest hits tour with support from  All Time Low  and  Simple Plan .

The 27-date tour will see Lavigne perform her biggest hits including ‘Complicated,’ ‘Sk8er Boi’ and ‘Girlfriend’.

Back in October, Lavigne made a surprise appearance at  When We Were Young festival to sing ‘Sk8er Boi’ with All Time Low .

She first joined for ‘Fake As Hell’, her collaborative track with the band, before launching into a performance of her 2002 hit ‘Sk8er Boi’. She performed at the inaugural first weekend of 2022’s When We Were Young festival, before she had to drop out the following week due to “unforeseen circumstances” .

The singer’s latest album, ‘ Love Sux ‘, came out in February of 2022, described by NME in a three-star review as “a modern update on early ’00s pop-punk”. It added: “‘Love Sux’ is a progressive pop-punk album that eschews the old rules – but not at the expense of maximalist, joyful guitar anthems.”

Avril Lavigne has just announced headline dates in Cardiff and Manchester next summer, and she’ll be joined at both shows by Simple Plan.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, December 1.

Before that, Simple Plan will be in the UK for their Hard As Rock tour with State Champs and Mayday Parade , which kicks off at the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on February 9, and wraps up at London’s Eventim Apollo on February 16.

Simple Plan Announce Major UK Shows With Avril Lavigne For 2024

Punk-pop icon Avril Lavigne has announced a pair of UK shows next summer. The superstar will be joined by fellow Canadians Simple Plan for the two dates – which take place at Cardiff Castle on 2 July and Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl the following night. Tickets for the shows go on sale this Friday, 1 December.

“UK!” Lavigne said in a statement “I’m playing at Cardiff Castle and Castlefield Bowl with the one and only Simple Plan next July 2024. Come rock out with us!”

Prior to these dates with Avril Lavigne, Simple Plan will bring their Hard As Rock Tour to Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and London, where they’ll take over Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo on 16 February.

The UK run of the Hard As Rock tour will follow shows across Europe between 19 January and 7 February, with support on all dates coming from Mayday Parade and State Champs.

The equivalent of $1 from each ticket sold will be donated to the Simple Plan Foundation. The band’s drummer Chuck Comeau said in a statement: “We’re super excited to be coming back to Europe and the UK early next year! After an amazing arena tour with our good friends Sum 41 last fall and some incredible festival shows this spring, we’re thrilled to come back on our own headlining tour, playing full shows for our UK and Euro fans all over the continent.

He added, “It’s gonna be great to play a bunch of new songs from our latest album Harder Than it Looks as well as all the fans’ favourites from our early records. We might even throw in a few jams we rarely play live to celebrate, as 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of the band and the 20th anniversary of our second album, Still Not Getting Any .

“We’re stoked to bring our friends State Champs and Mayday Parade with us, two fantastic bands that we and our fans love! This is probably one of the strongest UK / European tour line-up we’ve ever put together and we can’t wait for it to kick off next year!”

Avril Lavigne coming to Bedford for exclusive South of England headline show

Live Nation and leading live music and event promoter Cuffe & Taylor have just revealed (Monday) that Avril Lavigne will perform her only South of England headline show at Bedford Park on Saturday, 29 June.

Alt-rock singer-songwriter, Avril Lavigne is renowned for redefining the 00s pop-punk landscape, and became the youngest female solo artist to hit the number one slot in the UK album charts at just 17-years-old.

Her hits like ‘Complicated’ and ‘Sk8er Boi’ became anthems of a rebellious generation, with infectious hooks, signature punk-inspired style and fearless attitude.

She boasts a multi-platinum status, as well as international accolades including, ten JUNO’s (Canadian Music Awards), three BRIT nominations, eight GRAMMY nominations, and many more. A

Considered an uncompromising force in music and culture, Avril Lavigne is an enduring icon, set to bring her rebellious spirit to the Bedford Summer Sessions this year.

TK Maxx presents

Avril’s arrival in Bedford will also be the inaugural TK Maxx presents Bedford Summer Sessions event, a new agreement with promoters Cuffe & Taylor to support live music across the country.

TK Maxx won’t just be supporting the Summer Sessions in name though, they’ll also be giving away tickets to concerts across the country, including those in Bedford.

With so many acts to choose from, and many local music fans wanting to attend multiple gigs, from today, Weekend Passes are also now on sale.

Weekend One Passes gain access to both Jess Glynne & Avril Lavigne shows for £99 inc. fees, and Weekend Two Passes showcase Tom Jones, Pete Tong, James, and Nile Rodgers & CHIC at £149 inc. fees for a limited time.
