Went to show to see Black Fast, never heard of Vektor but they stole it for me. Had to buy the latest LP from the merch booth and looking forward to buying the other two albums when I can. They sound like Voivod crossed with Death, seriously good band.

Vektor Returns on a New Label, Tour Dates Announced

September 14, 2022 by admin 0 Comments

Nearly six years after thrash band Vektor went on hiatus and three years after frontman David DiSanto faced public accusations – and video emerged – of alleged domestic violence, the band is back on a major label and writing new material.

The announcement came earlier today, with the bad posting the following statement on their social media accounts:

“We are extremely pleased to announce that Vektor has signed with Century Media Records! They have long been on our radar, and we couldn’t be happier for this new partnership. Recording of our fourth studio album has commenced and we have set the bar very high for ourselves once again. We are eager to begin the next phase of our global takeover with such a legendary record label. On the heels of this amazing news, we cannot wait to begin our European tour this fall after a nearly six-year hiatus. See you out there, Vektonauts!”

Vektor initially went on hiatus in 2016 after then drummer Blake Anderson, guitarist Erik Nelson and bassist Frank Chin unceremoniously quit the band. Today, the newly reformed lineup includes David DiSanto on guitars and vocals, Stephen Coon on bass, Mike Ohlson on drums, and Erik Nelson on guitar.

The band’s next album will be their fourth studio effort and is slated to release sometime next year.

Philipp Schulte, Vice President Century Media Records, said the label’s latest talent acquisition was an exciting development.

“We are excited to announce our cooperation with Vektor. Vektor seamlessly merge outstanding songwriting and technical finesse into something truly standard setting for modern metal. In the spirit of their quantum-leap vision for themselves, new music awaits. Let the countdown begin!”

This news comes nearly three years after frontman David DiSanto faced allegations of domestic violence. At that time he and his wife Katy traded barbs online, with the latter sharing a minute-long video that showed some of the alleged abuse. Since then, both parties have been involved in a protracted legal battle.

Regardless of the outcome of that situation, Vektor will be hitting the road with Cryptosis, Comaniac and Algebra in October. Additional run dates are also planned with Cryptosis across the UK, Ireland, Greece and Turkey. You can check out the dates below:

Vektor Sign With Century Media Records, Prepare New Album

Technical thrash metal outfit Vektor have signed a new worldwide deal with Century Media Records . Work is underway on the band’s first new album since 2016’s “ Terminal Redux “. David DiSanto , who fronts and plays guitar for the group, commented:

“We are extremely pleased to announce that Vektor has signed with Century Media Records !

The band’s career stalled back in 2016 after several members exited at once . While DiSanto went on to rebuild the band, 2019 found him hit with allegations of sexual assault and physical abuse by his wife at the time. He would later deny those allegations .

The backlash to Century Media ‘s announcement of signing the band has been immediate, as a cursory glance at the comments on the label’s official Facebook post regarding the matter can be found below:

Rihanna has a reported net worth of $1.4 billion — here's how the 36-year-old built her fortune

  • Rihanna's net worth is an estimated $1.4 billion as of June 2023, according to Forbes .
  • She's made profits from a variety of industries including music, fashion, and beauty.
  • Rihanna has also signed major endorsement deals and appeared in popular films.

Superstar Rihanna is one of the richest female entertainers in the world.

Though her introduction to the world came through her debut album "Music of the Sun," Rihanna — born Robyn Rihanna Fenty — has expanded her empire to include acting and running multiple businesses.

Although she hasn't delivered a new solo album since 2016's "Anti," her hiatus from music hasn't greatly impacted her net worth because of her other projects.

According to a Forbes report published in June 2023 , Rihanna has an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion — making her one of the wealthiest female musicians in the world.

Here's a breakdown of all that encompasses her empire.

Like most musicians, Rihanna has made a decent amount of her earnings from her performances.

vektor tour 2022

Though she's been on a few tours since hitting the scene in 2005, it wasn't until 2010's Last Girl On Earth Tour that she started seeing some major touring profits.

The tour, which promoted her fourth studio album "Rated R," grossed $40 million. Within a year, she embarked on the Loud Tour to promote the album by the same name,  and BET reports she earned an estimated $90 million .

Additionally, her Diamonds World Tour in 2013 went on to gross more than $140 million worldwide and sold out 84 out of the 87 stops on the tour, reports Billboard.

In March, she was hired to perform a private concert for a multibillionaire's son as part of a pre-wedding celebration for Mukesh Ambani and Radhika Merchant in India.

The singer could've been paid between $5 million and $9 million dollars for this performance, according to online estimates.

She also made money from co-headline spots and sponsorships.

vektor tour 2022

The singer also co-headlined a tour with rapper Eminem in 2014, which brought in over $36 million dollars for only six shows.

She's also profited from tour sponsorships. In 2015,  Rihanna signed a $25 million contract to promote Samsung on her 2016 Anti World Tour, according to New York Post.

Though Rihanna has tapped into many ventures during her career, it all started with the music.

vektor tour 2022

Since releasing her debut single, "Pon de Replay" in May 2005, she has released eight studio albums and, up until 2016's "Anti" album, did so every year.

According to the Roc Nation website, Rihanna has sold more than 60 million albums and a jaw-dropping 215 digital million tracks. Additionally, according to Roc Nation, she has amassed over 11.8 billion views on and 21 Vevo certificates, which makes her the most viewed female artist on Vevo/YouTube.

According to Billboard,  it was reported that the singer earned 7.6 million from streaming, 2.5 million from sales, and $10.1 million in royalties in 2016.

And, she's also a part-owner in the streaming service, Tidal , which has sold stakes for millions of dollars .

She has huge endorsement deals.

vektor tour 2022

According to her website , she has designed collections for brands such as Armani and River Island.

She also has had creative partnerships with MAC Cosmetics.

And the entertainer has made deals with Dior, Balmain, Gucci, Manolo Blahnik, Louis Vuitton, CoverGirl, luxury jewelry line Chopard, sock company Stance, and more.

Those additional deals also include the aforementioned deal with Samsung .

And she's worked with Puma on a high level.

vektor tour 2022

Rihanna was named the creative director for Puma in 2014 and she spent years creating both clothing and shoe lines that have done exceptionally well .

In 2023, the singer seemed to reclaim her creative director title with a new Puma shoe collection . She previously had not released a collection with Puma since 2018.

She's made waves in the beauty industry.

vektor tour 2022

As of 2017, Rihanna's shade-inclusive beauty line, Fenty Beauty, has become one of her most-known ventures. Launching in September of that year, many of the brand's darker shades sold out within days of their release.

According to Vogue, the makeup line brought in $100 million in sales within the first 40 days of its launch .

Fenty Beauty is worth a conservative $2.8 billion, Forbes has estimated .

In 2022, the beauty line — which was previously sold only at Sephora — expanded to be sold at over 1,300 Ulta Cosmetics stores .

Rihanna has also debuted lingerie and her own show to highlight it.

vektor tour 2022

Less than a year later, the "Man Down" songstress released her own line of lingerie, which has been celebrated for its size, color, and shape-inclusive pieces since its May 2018 release.

According to Rihanna's Instagram stories , the line sold out in less than a month.

In 2019, Rihanna debuted the Savage X Fenty Show to showcase the lingerie.

Per Forbes, in 2021 , Rihanna's Savage X Fenty had reached a $1 billion valuation in the US women's underwear sector.

She's also made money from fragrances.

vektor tour 2022

Before launching her makeup and lingerie lines, Rihanna was making strides in the fragrance department . Throughout the years, she has released 11 fragrances, with the latest being released this past August .

The new fragrance is a spin on the singer's debut scent Reb'l Fleur — which originally outsold other perfumes by pop stars that year and reportedly brought in $80 million in sales , according to Rolling Stone.

Acting has made her a bit of coinage, too.

vektor tour 2022

Making her acting debut in 2006's "Bring It On: All or Nothing," the star has gone on to appear in films such as "Home," "Annie," and, recently, "Ocean's 8."

Though it's not clear how much she has earned from acting in these roles, "Ocean's 8" alone earned a reported $41.5 million from its box-office opening .

And Rihanna has more projects in the works.

vektor tour 2022

In July, the singer filed for a trademark for "Fenty Hair," which could mean more projects are in the works.

She's also been hinting at possibly releasing new music for quite some time.

7 Best New Movies & Shows Coming to Disney+ in March 2024

Morbius, Taylor Swift, and the X-Men in one month?

Disney+ is back this March with plenty of new projects, including quite a few titles that fans have eagerly awaited. This follows a strong February for Disney+, led by the three-episode premiere for the third and final season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch . It's a strong start for Star Wars , but in March, Disney+ is all about Marvel, with the long-awaited arrival of a sequel series to an animated classic and the Disney+ debut of an ironic fan-favorite film. Disney+ subscribers can also expect the streaming platform to become the home of one of the biggest concert films ever made.

To find out more about those anticipated projects and everything else you can expect to see on Disney+ this month, here are seven of the best new movies and shows you can expect to see.

'Morbius'

Jared Leto as Michael Morbius looking down in the film 'Morbius'

Starting March 1st, 2024, it will indeed be (say it with us) "Morbin' Time," as Sony's vampire anti-hero film Morbius will be joining their other Spider-Man and Venom films on Disney+. Set in Sony's ill-fated "villainverse" rather than the Marvel Cinematic Universe ( Michael Keaton cameo aside), Morbius follows the turbulent tale of Dr. Michael Morbius ( Jared Leto ). This brilliant biochemist has lived his entire life with a rare blood disorder, which is slowly but surely killing him. Eager to find a cure for himself and others living with the same illness, Morbius finds an unlikely remedy in a species of bats, which curses him with a bloodthirsty vampiric condition.

'Queens'

(complete series).

A Lion in 'Queens'

Move over, Mufasa, as Queens shines a light on some of the most respected and assertive members of the animal kingdom. Courtesy of National Geographic, Queens examines the daily routines of female animals, such as the African Lion, as they function as the primary caregivers and hunters for their prides and families. It's fitting that the upcoming nature documentary series will also be narrated by Angela Bassett , who recently received an Academy Award nomination for her role as Queen Ramonda in the MCU's Black Panther series.

The complete series of Queens will be available to stream on Disney+ starting Tuesday, March 5th. Watch on Disney+

'Cinderella'

Lily James as Cinderella in Cinderella

You might be reading this and thinking to yourself, "Wait, the 2015 Cinderella remake isn't already on Disney+?" Strangely enough, no, as Kenneth Branagh 's beautiful reimagining of the Cinderella story has been available only on Starz for the past few months. That's set to change this March, as Disney+ subscribers will once again see young Cinderella ( Lily James ) go on a life-changing journey in this fairytale adventure. An adventure that involves wicked stepmother, fairy godmothers, and much more.

Cinderella will be available to stream on Disney+ starting Friday, March 8th .

'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour'

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Poster

The hit 2023 concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will attract "Swifties" to Disney+ this March . The arrival of The Eras Tour continues Disney+'s trend of snatching up hit live productions, having previously gotten the streaming rights to Lin-Manuel Miranda 's award-winning musical Hamilton and the rock & roll legacy finale that is Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium . Once the film premieres, Swift fans can see the popular music star's legendary tour for themselves.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will be available to stream on Disney+ starting Friday, March 15th .

'Photographer'

A photographer in a river in 'Photographer'

Another fascinating docuseries from National Geographic, Photographer takes audiences behind the camera, so to speak. Viewers will be able to see seven of the world's best and brightest photographers and how their diverse work has shaped their lives and careers. Suffice it to say, this photographic journey will likely give documentary fans a new perspective on the photography industry and perhaps even life in general.

The complete season of Photographer will be available to stream on Disney+ starting Tuesday, March 19th .

'X-Men '97'

(series premiere).

Easily, one of the most anticipated titles of March 2024 is X-Men '97 , which is so much more than your average Marvel animated show. This new series is a direct continuation of the beloved X-Men: The Animated Series , bringing back several members of the original voice cast like Cal Dodd as Wolverine and Lenore Zann as Rogue. For the first time since 1997, Marvel fans will get to see their favorite team of mutants as they grapple with the death of their mentor, Charles Xavier ( Cedric Smith ), and the new management of their historic enemy, Magneeto ( Matthew Waterson ). These are issues the team will need to figure out fast, as they'll also be continuing to combat human intolerance levied toward mutants.

X-Men '97 premieres on Disney+ on Wednesday, March 20th, with new episodes set to premiere every following Wednesday .

'Renegade Nell'

(complete season 1).

Louisa Harland as Nell in 'Renegade Nell'

Lastly, Disney+ will feature a new historical action-adventure series originating from the UK called Renegade Nell . Starring Derry Girls star Louisa Harland and Ted Lasso star Nick Mohammed , the series follows young Nell Jackson after she's been wrongly accused of murder. Desperate to make a living for herself, Nell begins an unexpected career in banditry, stealing from the wealthy bureaucrats who are hardly worthy of their wealth.

The complete first season of Renegade Nell will be available to stream on Disney+ starting Friday, March 29th .

Accused of murder, Nell Jackson finds herself forced to live on plunder and expedients with her two sisters. Helped by a brave spirit named Billy Blind, she realizes that fate has not led her astray by chance.

Korn Ferry Tour

Mason Andersen wins 117th Visa Argentina Open presented by Macro, earns exemption for The Open Championship

Daily Wrap Up

Change Text Size

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – The Korn Ferry Tour crowned yet another first-time winner, its fifth in a row to start the 2024 season, as Mason Andersen defeated two-time winner Kris Ventura on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff at the 117th Visa Argentina Open presented by Macro. Through the Visa Argentina Open’s partnership with The R&A, Andersen’s victory also earned him an exemption for the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon.

An emotional Andersen pumped his fists in the air after the winning putt, on his way to accept the trophy, and upon conclusion of an emotional winner’s speech. The significance of the victory hit Andersen in waves, and the emotion poured out of him as he embraced his father just off Olivos Golf Club’s 18th green.

“Winning is just so hard in golf,” Andersen said. “You never win, you never win, and you come close a bunch of times, but winning’s just so hard. To do it with my dad here and my girlfriend here… yeah, pretty emotional.”

Andersen, a native of Mesa, Arizona, who played collegiately at Arizona State University, began the final round six strokes off the lead and made two bogeys in the first five holes Sunday.

Much like the first three rounds, Andersen’s putter was ice cold. Until, as Andersen said, “They all went in at the same time.”

Andersen closed the front nine with three consecutive birdies, followed by a streak of five consecutive birdies from Nos. 11-15, and another birdie at the par-5 18th to cap a dazzling 7-under 63 – which was the low round of the day by three strokes.

“I hope it’s enough,” Andersen said as he left the scoring area with the clubhouse lead at 17-under 263, which broke the 72-hole tournament scoring record previously established by Miguel Fernandez, who totaled 264 at Hurlingham Club en route to victory at the 1988 Visa Argentina Open presented by Macro.

“I want to win,” Andersen said in a brief interview shortly thereafter. “Fifth, or sixth, or seventh doesn’t feel that good anymore. I want to win a tournament.”

Andersen and his small circle of family and friends secured a table in the club’s restaurant for the long await ahead. On a television across the room, Andersen watched anxiously as Ventura bounced between 16- and 17-under par on the livestream.

“All I need is a chance,” Andersen repeated to himself.

After about 90 minutes, Andersen stood up and headed for the driving range. The time for preparation arrived, regardless if the opportunity he craved would actually come.

Ventura bounced back from a bogey at the bogey at the par-4 14th with a birdie at the par-4 16th, getting himself to 17-under par and yet again pulling even with Andersen. After a par at No. 17, all that stood between Ventura and his third career win was a birdie at the par-5 18th, the easiest hole of the week in relation to par.

Ventura hit the green in two and had more than 30 feet left for eagle, but he ran his first putt about 4 feet past the hole. As Andersen prepared on the range, Ventura lipped out what would have been a tournament-winning birdie putt.

Andersen’s opportunity arrived.

The first playoff hole – No. 18 – was a stalemate, as Andersen and Ventura both made two-putt birdies. The two played the 18th again, and both stumbled after quality drives. Andersen lost his approach right and into the crowd, but caught a fortunate bounce off a large scoreboard and watched from afar as his ball settled in the greenside rough. Ventura left his approach in the front greenside bunker.

For their third shots, Andersen played a perfect open-faced chip and left himself 3 feet for birdie, while Ventura blasted his bunker shot over the green. Ventura saved par after two chip shots (he made the second), but Andersen made his short birdie putt and closed out his first win.

As Andersen celebrated, he thought back to his time at Arizona State.

“I lost interest in it for a while,” Andersen said. “If it weren’t for (Head Coach) Matt Thurmond and (former Associate Head Coach) Armen Kirakossian, I would not be playing golf right now. (Volunteer Assistant Coach) Howard Twitty as well. Those three guys were able to change my attitude, change the way I approach the game, just complete overhaul of what I was doing off the course… that sent me to where I am right now. Twitty sat me down and said, ‘If you keep acting the way you’re acting, you’ll never make it.’ This is a guy who’s won PGA TOUR events, so really thankful he was honest with me. Had the same conversations with Thurms.

“I just woke up one day and was able to turn it around.”

Andersen closed out a five-season college career (2017-22) with two victories and a 2022 All-America Third Team selection. In his first attempt at Q-School, Andersen was one of eight players who advanced through every stage – including Pre-Qualifying – of the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying Tournament (which has since become PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry).

Andersen played all 26 events of the 2023 season, and back-to-back finishes of T2 and T18 in the 24th and 25th events gave him an outside chance at a PGA TOUR card.

Mason Andersen sinks putt for birdie at Korn Ferry Tour Champ

“That one still kind of stings,” Andersen said. “I had my entire family there. It was too good to be true. I just wasn’t ready. I wasn’t ready.”

This past offseason, Andersen focused on “the little things” with his sports psychologist and swing coach, believing it would be the finest of details which would ultimately take him to the winner’s circle and the PGA TOUR.

Although Andersen accomplished one of those goals Sunday, he gave himself a whole other checklist of details to refine ahead of The Open Championship this July.

“I’m excited,” said Andersen, whose lone PGA TOUR start to date was a missed cut at the 2017 U.S. Open. “It’s a different type of golf than I’m used to. I don’t play links golf. I’ve barely experienced it, so we’re going to have to gear up and get ready for that.”

Final-round notes
