Logic, born January 22nd 1990 is a rapper from Maryland, USA. In the last five years, he has built up a loyal Internet following, and is signed to Visionary Music Group and Def Jam Recordings.
Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, better known by his pseudonym, Logic, was born in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He comes from humble beginnings, and didn’t graduate from high school. He began skipping classes in the tenth grade, when he started to do badly in every class. He was later expelled, but he used his new found free time to pursue his music career in full force.
At the young age of 13, Logic met his mentor, Solomon Taylor. When he was sixteen, Taylor brought him a bundle of CDs with beats on to write over. At the time, he was going by the name “Psychological” which is a word that he really identified with, and released an unofficial mixtape entitled “Psychological: The Mixtape” A couple of years on, and Logic opened for Pitbull, Ludacris and Method Man at a show in Maryland. Shortly after, he decided to go by the name Logic instead.
On Decemeber 17th 2010, Logic released his first official mixtape entitled “Young, Broke and Infamous”, and two music videos alongside it for “Stain in the Game” and “Backpack”. It caught the attention of Chris Zarou, who wanted Logic to be a part of his upstart independent record label Visionary Music Group. It was his second mixtape “Young Sinatra” that really caught the attention of the masses, with songs such as “All I Do” and “Prime”. The “All I Do” video was the first video for Logic to reach over a million views on YouTube. By this point he had started a fire so big that it caught the attention of Def Jam, he took the next step in his career by signing with them, and on May 7th 2013, Logic released his fourth official mixtape, “Young Sinatra: Welcome to Forever”, which reached 100,000 downloads in 24 hours. He embarked on a tour with Kid Cudi, Big Sean and Tyler, the Creator on “The Cud Life Tour 2013”.
Most recently, on September 15th 2014, Logic released a singled called “Under Pressure” which he declared was the title track of an album that he released on October 21st 2014.
Live reviews
I can’t think of many rappers who have the title of ‘Sir’ before their name, and this is one of the many things that makes Sir Robert Bryson Hall II stand out from the crowd. Logic initially gained a large internet following, before releasing his critically acclaimed mix tape Young Sinatra: Welcome Forever. Making a break through YouTube is an incredible challenge, and a real reflection of Logic’s rapping talent.
Logic is an incredible performer. He flawlessly flows through his beats and tunes, never slipping up or missing a lyric. Speaking of which, the powerful lyrics of this tracks really come to life in a live performance, and resonate even more deeply with the audience when you can hear it first hand. When he sang Walk On By, he had the crowd joining in and going crazy. He really knows how to motivate a crowd and get them on his side. I completely lost track of time, and the concert flew by. I would say, if you get the chance to see him, make sure it’s a long set!
I’m absolutely gutted that I saw him before the release of his epic debut album just this month, but that’s as good a reason as any for me to go back and see the genius perform again.

Chase Center SF 10/13/19 - Great show!! If you're at all concerned about his slow, jazzy, self-reflective numbers, don't be! The show was 100% energy. He ripped through his up tempo, rapid fire flow hits. Too many rappers won't do that fast rap live, Logic not only does it live, he does it every song. He even did the first half of his Homicide verse 5 or 6 times in a gimmick to get the audience jumping. Really fun show. YBN Cordae and JID opened, both were cool and fun to watch. Each came out for a song during Logic's set and you could really see the difference in how Logic completely commanded the stage. A little stiff and scripted with his crowd interaction, but seemed very genuine. Not a fan of huge venues (although the Chase Center is spectacular) but would see Logic again in a heartbeat.
Logic was great!! The other headliner sings about screwing girls in a pretty misogynistic way, but Logic just spreads peace, love, and positivity. He was super energetic and got the crowd pumped up. He produced new beats on stage which was awesome and he brought out his notebook where he had written new lyrics to perform for us. So humbling to witness the process in addition to the product! I would love to see him at a smaller venue where he could really connect with the crowd. Also, it's so cool to hear him rap at ridiculously fast paces. He's got superb talent and you should listen to his stuff and then go to his shows and experience the awe that comes with witnessing this amazing performer.
Best show I've been to! The vibes were amazing and everyone was truly there for the music. Logic is all about peace, love, and positivity and he brings that to the stage. He really loves his fans and encouraged everyone to treat each other like family. He gave shout outs to young kids in the crowd and even brought a couple girls on stage to rap with him.
Someone in the middle of the crowd got hurt and he immediately stopped the music and everything and had everyone clear a path and the security team carried the guy out to safety within seconds.
Support this amazing artist and get your tickets. I will never miss a Logic show!!
It was awesome! A lot of people got there pretty early to start lining up. It didn't take too long to see him perform and even if it did, it was worth it! When they let us in, they played the live recording of Jimmy Kimmel, and after that, some guy came out to get us hyped up. The music started playing and it went over like twice so the cameras can record good shots and footage from different angles. Once Logic came out, everyone was so hyped! He performed extra songs after the ones he needed to do for the show. He talked to us separately and preached good shit. He's a great artist and a great individual.
This is my second concert, but my first hip-hop concert. I was blown away and I feel like it didn't even happen.
Logic has so much energy and he relates to his fans . I will never forget this experience. He looked up at me and asked my name and age. Then shouted me out to the whole audience and everyone started to scream .
This is one of the best concerts I have been to and I will definitely go again as VIP . Also Ansel Elgort was there . I saw him, but I didn't know it was him , he was just in the audience .
Logic is the best and I hope he never stops doing what he is doing .
I went to see Logic quite a while back in January and the Rave in Milwaukee WI, and it was one of the best experiences in my life. The down to earth sensation you get from Logic as a whole is so rare to find among the hip hop community and I was honored to even be in the same room as him. Not only was Logic amazing, but Micheal Christmas opened for him and now he is defiantly one of my favorite people. If you ever get the opportunity to go see Logic I definitely recommend it, and can't wait until he tours again.
Logic I dont even know if words can describe how good he was , but I will try . His performance hands down was amazing , outstanding such a great performer. He went down the stage just to shake a little kids hand, he was so humble and nice to him it melted my heart & everyone else who was at power house. Logic is not just a great performer but also a good person from heart ! Always gonna be a logic fan ! So worth going to see and being front row would be so worth it.
absolutely amazing. the environment was so positive. everyone in there was going crazy even some people on the balcony were going crazy. And Logics performance was like nothing I've ever seen before;absolutely amazing. And the best thing about it was that he was interacting with his fans in the crowd also. he made it feel like we were all really family like he said. loved all of it. Also his dj's set was so much fun. if you weren't there you should've been there.
02/14/16: My first Logic concert, and he killed it on stage.I felt nothing but good vibes and positivity from Logic and the crowd.DJ Hoppa and Dizzy Wright had an amazing opening to the concert, it was lit.Logic is a humble and down to earth guy and you can tell he cares about his fans, he just wanted everybody to vibe out and have a good time.Best concert, best Valentine's Day,best day ever what else could I possibly ask for?

Natalie Maher
Just a week after calling on Rick and Morty to drop his mixtape, Logic has followed up his latest release with a big summer tour announcement. The “1-800-273-8255” star, along with fellow rappers Kyle and NF , will be hitting more than 30 cities around North America from June to August.
Starting on June 8th in Boston, The Bobby Tarantino vs. Everybody Tour will make stops in cities such as Philadelphia, Nashville, Los Angeles, and Dallas, including a performance at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York on June 16. Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday (March 16th) at 12:00pm EST at livenation.com
Logic's 'Bobby Tarantino II' Heading for No. 1 Bow on Billboard 200 Albums Chart
The tour is in correspondence with Logic’s most recent mixtape Bobby Tarantino II , which as of Monday (March 12), is set to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart next week after its March 9 release.
As for the tourmates, both have garnered recent success on their way up. Kyle was a member of the 2017 XXL Freshman class, while NF’s single “Let You Down” hit No.1 on the Pop Songs radio airplay chart earlier this month.

Without walls 'wow' festival | la jolla playhouse.
Since its inception in 2013, La Jolla Playhouse's Without Walls "WOW" Festival has become one of the biggest don't-miss theater events in town. It's an immersive, interactive program, spotlighting a bunch of new works of theater that push boundaries of traditional performance and think outside the box — or the stage. This year, the programming will take over UC San Diego, and includes intriguing site-specific works, immersive, participatory theater, dance and more. Some events have set time schedules and require reservations, others are designated as drop-in.
Worth checking out: 15 minutes inside Do Ho Suh's strange and unsettling "Fallen Star" house sculpture atop a building; Blindspot Collective's "iykyk" in the Che Café; Ash Eliza Smith and Robert Twomey's "Fish Phone Booth Playtest" in collaboration with the Birch Aquarium; Animal Cracker Conspiracy's "Spectrum: Society of Wonder" giant puppets; TuYo Theatre's "Pásale Pásale" and Monica Bill Barnes and Robbie Saenz de Viteri's incredible work of dance and storytelling, "The Running Show."
Details: WOW Festival . April 4-7. UC San Diego, 9500 Gilman Dr., La Jolla. Free.
Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 | Cygnet Theatre
Electropop meets classic Russian literature in Cygnet Theatre's production of "Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812." Writing credits for the book, lyrics and music go to playwright Dave Malloy, but it's adapted from none other than Leo Tolstoy himself, drawing on part eight of "War and Peace." You don't need to know much about "War and Peace," because this script very quickly becomes its own wild and standalone entity — the romance between Natasha and Anatole, and his depressed brother-in-law, Pierre.
This is a musical through-and-through, with reportedly only one spoken word of dialogue in the entire script. Malloy drew on electronic dance music, Russian folk music and indie rock for the score. This production is directed by Cygnet's artistic director Sean Murray.
Details: " Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 ." On stage April 10 through May 19, 2024. Cygnet Theatre, 4040 Twiggs St., Old Town. $58-$73.
'Madama Butterfly' | San Diego Opera
Giacomo Puccini's masterpiece opera, "Madama Butterfly" returns to the San Diego Opera stage — it was last produced in 2016. The story follows a young woman in Japan, Cio-Cio-San, known as "Butterfly," who meets an American officer, Pinkerton, falls in love and — so she thinks — marries him. He returns to his American family, while she is left to raise their son alone, awaiting his return. It's a tragic story, with a gorgeous and quintessential operatic score.
San Diego Opera's production stars Corinne Winters and Adam Smith, and will be joined by the San Diego Symphony.
Details: " Madama Butterfly ." 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28. San Diego Civic Theatre, 1100 Third Ave., downtown. $13-$340.
'Fat Ham' | The Old Globe
Playwright James Ijames won a Pulitzer Prize for drama for his spin on Shakespeare's "Hamlet," which brings us Juicy, a queer, smart, Black college student faced with the ghost of his father who shows up at a family barbecue looking for revenge.
But these generational woes don't quite play out like Hamlet himself might have expected. Ijames' take is about finding agency and stepping out of the cycles of trauma and violence. Directed by Sideeq Heard at The Old Globe.
Details: " Fat Ham ." May 25 through June 23. The Old Globe Theatre, 1363 Old Globe Way, Balboa Park. Tickets on sale April 12.
"TL;DR: Thelma Louise; Dyke Remix" | Diversionary Theatre
Moxie Theatre and Diversionary Theatre, two of San Diego's most beloved and adventurous small theaters, are joining forces to produce this world-premiere musical. Playwright and lyricist EllaRose Chary and composer and lyricist Brandon James Gwinn take the iconic and tragic friendship of Thelma and Louise and turn it into the beginning of an anthemic, queer empowerment story.
Here's a clip of one of the songs from a virtual Rhinebeck Writers Retreat presentation, which was directed by Sherri Eden Barber, who will direct this production in San Diego. (Contains som explicit language.)
Buckle up: There's a "riot grrrl" band on stage, a quest for a happy ending and a casting note in the script that certainly sets the stage: "The following descriptions reflect the need for this cast to defy the traditional cis, white, femme, skinny, able-bodied, male gaze inspired concept of queer women in media."
Details: " TL;DR: Thelma Louise; Dyke Remix ." On stage May 9 through June 2, 2024. Diversionary Theatre, 4545 Park Blvd. #101, University Heights. $25-$70.

Bruce Springsteen’s tour, delayed by illness, arrives in San Diego on Monday
The tour, which “The Boss” postponed due to a peptic ulcer, kicked off Tuesday in Arizona with the singer-guitarist in high spirits and fit shape

“The Boss” is back, baby!
Following a peptic ulcer disease diagnosis, the “Born To Run” singer had to postpone a string of performances last year. In September, he announced he would be taking time off to recover.
But now, the rock phenom is finally back in action. His tour arrives in San Diego on Monday, March 25, with a concert at Pechanga Arena San Diego. All face-value tickets for the show are sold-out. Re-sale tickets, which are priced higher, are available.
On Tuesday, March 19, the 74-year-old Springsteen and the E Street Band played at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, opening with a “Good evening, Arizona” to the crowd, followed by the crowd-stirring “Lonesome Day.”
His 29-song performance proved to be a “triumphant reboot” for the iconic musician, who showed no signs of his past ailment during the three-hour show, according to the Associated Press.
Aside from “Born in the U.S.A.,” Springsteen performed signature hits like “Rosalita,” “No Surrender,” “Glory Days” and “Dancing In The Dark,” while adding a few covers to the mix. According to ABC News, the heralded rocker played “Nightshift” by the Commodores and a surprising rendition of “Twist and Shout” by the Isley Brothers.
“Phoenix, first I want to apologize if there was any discomfort because we had to move the show last time ... I hope we didn’t inconvenience you too much,” Springsteen, who postponed nearly 30 shows on his world tour last year, said before closing out the show.
Springsteen, decked in a red plaid flannel shirt and dark jeans, was lauded by fans for his lively energy and physique. While many marveled at the 74-year-old artist’s very fit shape, others jokingly compared Springsteen to svelte British actress Tilda Swinton.
“Absolutely thought this was Tilda Swinton in a new role where she plays a wrestler,” one Twitter/X user commented on a picture of Springsteen with his half-unbuttoned shirt.
“Actually, (we) never seen (Tilda) Swinton and Bruce Springsteen in the same room… new conspiracy just dropped,” the same user later tweeted.
Springsteen’s Phoenix date marked the first stop on his 2024 world tour. Before ending in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Nov. 22, he and the E Street Band will play in 17 countries across 52 dates.
