This itinerary can begin in Alice Springs or Uluru:

Day 1: Alice Springs to Uluru  The tour starts in Alice Springs, heading to Mt Connor lookout and Curtin Springs. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Indigenous Cultural Centre and wander Uluru’s base walk. After we’ve explored Mutitjulu waterhole, Kuniya Piti and Kantju Gorge, we’ll settle in to witness the breathtaking sunset over Uluru.

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2:   Uluru to Kings Canyon  Tuck into an early breakfast before visiting Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park for sunrise at Kata Tjuta. Then explore the unique rocks of Kata Tjuta with a hike through Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge. We’ll proceed to Kings Canyon where we enjoy another magical sunset and dinner around the campfire.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 3: Kings Canyon to West MacDonnell Ranges   Lacing up our hiking boots, we explore Kings Canyon on foot. Enjoy a hike through the canyon and take in unforgettable views of sandstone gorges. We head back through Alice Springs to the West MacDonnell Ranges where we enjoy our final night of camping under the desert sky.

Day 4: West MacDonnell Ranges to Alice Springs  

On our final day we explore the impressive gorges and swimming holes of West MacDonnell Ranges. After breakfast at Standley Chasm, we visit Ellery Creek Bighole, Ormiston Gorge, and Simpsons Gap. Bring your swimming gear to enjoy a dip in the refreshing natural swimming pools. We finish up the tour in Alice Springs where we say goodbye to our amazing travel mates!

Departs: Alice Springs 7:00am / Uluru 1:00pm

Returns: Alice Springs 5:30pm

If you are flying into Ayers Rock Airport, the latest your flight can arrive is 1:50pm. The tour does not return to Uluru and finishes in Alice Springs only.

Our small group safari  adventure tour  takes you on a journey to experience the absolute highlights that the  Red Centre  has to share.

Over three full days together, we explore three iconic locations ( Uluru, Kings Canyon & Kata Tjuta ) all wrapped up in the one  tour .

There’s no wonder why  Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park  was added to the  UNESCO World Heritage  List  in 1987 and recognised by the international community for its astonishing geological formations, rare flora and fauna and breathtaking natural beauty.

Your experienced and expert tour guide will take you on a voyage through the  Red Centre , bringing it to life with comprehensive commentary, uncovering some of the ancient stories, myths, secrets and hidden gems along the way. 

This tour is fully accommodated with the choice of either  comfortable twin share safari tents , which provide a little extra privacy, comfort and security, or you have the option of trying a traditional swag experience (canvas-covered bed roll).

Day 1: Alice Springs / Yulara to Uluru

Starting from  Alice Springs  or  Yulara  (Uluru Airport) we set off towards  Ayers Rock  (Uluru) pulling in to Mt Conner lookout (false Uluru or Fool-uru) to appreciate the views across this extraordinary red mountain, we make a quick stop at Curtin Springs for a toilet break before settling in at our campground for lunch. (*only for Alice Springs guests, those being collected from Ayers Rock will need to source their own lunch prior to joining the tour.) 

After lunch, we set off to the Red Centre’s indigenous interpretive cultural centre, where we immerse ourselves in learning about this extraordinary national park’s fascinating cultural, historical, ecological and geological significance. With excitement and anticipation building, we arrive at the base of Uluru and stand in awe at this mammoth monolithic structure’s sheer magnificence and grandiosity as we get up close and personal. We begin trekking our way towards  Mu t itjulu waterhole  to explore further, discovering  sacred rock art sites  in family caves and listening to ancient creation stories and dreamtime myths of Kuniya and Liru as we continue our hike towards  Kuniya Piti.  We then take a short drive to  Kantju Gorge , passing through sacred sites, including an elders cave and the world’s oldest pantry, arriving at the highest waterfall in Central Australia, a true spectacle to behold (especially when raining). After a full day of exploration up close and personal with the world’s most monumental rock, we retreat to witness one of the most spectacular sunsets on the planet, taking in panoramic views of Uluru whilst having your dinner cooked for you.

(*Lunch is only provided for those departing from Alice Springs. Those being collected from Ayers Rock will need to source their own lunch prior to joining the tour.)

Day 2: Uluru to Kata Tjuta to Kings Canyon

Early to rise for a light breakfast before we set off to catch a sensational sunrise at  Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park . If you thought  Uluru  was magnificent, wait until you lay eyes on the majestic silhouette of  Kata Tjuta.  Together we hike through the  Valley of the Winds  or  Walpa Gorge  and marvel at the massive conglomerate rock formations. Once we’re finished exploring Kata Tjuta we head over towards  Kings Canyon  just in time to encounter another glorious outback sunset and enjoy a hearty meal around the fire back at our camp. 

Day 2 Highlights:

  • Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
  • Hike the  Valley of the Winds  or  Walpa Gorge
  • The Olgas – Kata Tjuta
  • Glorious  Sunrise  at  Uluru

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Accom: Kings Creek Station Campground (Kings  Canyon) Safari Tents or Bush Swags with campground communal facilities. Driving Distance: 406 km  (4.5 Hours).  Hike Distance:  2-6 km / 2-4 hours  (*weather dependent).

Day 3: Kings Canyon to Uluru / Yulara or Alice Springs

Another early start as we set off into the ancient landscape and sacred traditional lands of the Ulpanyali and Lilla people to explore the monumental  Kings Canyon   (Watarrka) , known as the crown jewel in the centre of  Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon). 

Make sure you bring your hat, water and some good hiking shoes as we venture out on foot surrounded by steep towering cliff faces (over 100 metres high) to explore the canyon in more detail and take in the spectacular views of the unique sandstone chasms.

After a well deserved rest our journey slowly winds down as we make our way back to our final destination, concluding our adventure together at either Yulara or Alice Springs.

Day 3 Highlights:

  • Outback Scenery  – Travelling through remote Central Australian countryside from Kings Canyon to our final destination, either Alice Springs or Yulara/Uluru.
  • Kings Canyon Watarrka National Park  – Take a guided walking tour and learn more about the rare native flora, fauna and geology of this unique place
  • Finish your journey in either  Alice Springs  for your onward travels

Meals:  Breakfast,   Lunch.  Driving Distance: 250km (2.5 hours).  Hike Distance: 2-4 km / 2-4 hours.

The weather conditions in the Red Centre can fluctuate rapidly and be quite intense at times. Temperatures can soar to over 50+ degrees Celsius in the dry season and drop dramatically in the evening. Prior to your journey, we recommend checking the average temperatures for the time of year you’re travelling and pack suitable clothing. In the case of rain or harsh weather, expect that your tour will still go ahead, unless otherwise advised by the provider.

Important Notes

  • Mandatory passenger details that are required when booking include; date of birth, dietary requirements and phone number.
  • We do our best to cater for most dietary needs and/or food allergies, however passengers MUST notify the tour operator of any special requirements or medical conditions at the time of booking.
  • Hiking included in this tour requires a moderate/ advanced level of fitness and a doctor’s certificate is required for people over 70 years (30-days prior to travel). The walks vary from each day from 2km to 4km, often over steep rocky areas and in direct sunlight with high humidity. An approximate total of 9-11 kms walk is included throughout the 3 day tour. Hiking is always embarked on at the guide’s discretion to ensure safety of passengers.
  • Children between the ages of 8 to 17 years old must be accompanied at all times by an adult or legal guardian and must stay in private twin rooms. This tour is not suitable for infants or children 7 years and under.
  • Private rooms are available on request and subject to availability.
  • Our vehicles have limited storage space, therefore baggage must be kept to 1 x 15kg travel bag and 1 x 5kg day bag.
  • This terrain is unsuitable for mobility impaired travellers with wheelchairs, walkers, prams or strollers.
  • This itinerary is interchangeable and may vary to accommodate seasonal weather conditions and fluctuations or park closures due to ceremonies or events held by traditional custodians.
  • Occasionally sites within the parks close or do not allow swimming for safety purposes. We plan accordingly to make sure our guests always have the best experience possible on tour.

This afternoon we set out to boulder-strewn landscape of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). Wandering through the site’s gullies and crevices, you’ll learn a little about the area’s geological and ecological significance from your guide. The perfect end to a remarkable day is awaiting you back at camp, as you enjoy a delicious spread of food with your group. If the weather permits, sit outside under the stars.

Today’s driving time is approximately 1 hour or 4.5hrs for Alice Springs pick up.

Today’s Walking is approximately 1 hour.

Wake early to catch an unforgettable Uluru sunrise, then get a closer look at this massive sandstone monolith on an unguided walk around its base. After your stroll, walk to the cave paintings near Mutitjulu Waterhole, where you will be met by an Anangu guide. Your guide will shed insight into the ancient rock etchings and the stories they tell, as well as the traditions of the land’s Traditional Owners.

Next, visit the nearby Cultural Central to browse its extensive collection of Aboriginal arts and crafts. After a local lunch, set off on a three-hour drive to your exclusive campsite within Watarrka National Park. (Kings Canyon). Get acquainted with your surroundings, enjoy an on-site dinner and settle in for the night.

After breakfast, get your hiking shoes on and head out to explore the impressive formations of Kings Canyon. You’ll be left breathless by the sheer beauty of the canyon, as you trek through the Amphitheatre, the Lost City, the lush and ancient Garden of Eden and the North and South Walls. Lunch is a welcome prospect, before you make your way back to Alice Springs. On arrival, you’re free to leave and carry on your travels.

Included Activities: Kings Canyon Rim Walk. For the Kings Canyon Rim Walk it is a requirement that you have a minimum of 3 litres of water with you. Please consider bringing your own refillable water bottles.

Important Booking Info

  • For the more adventurous traveler, we have the traditional outback camping experience. Guests will enjoy sleeping under the stars in a canvas-covered bedroll, known as an “Australian Swag”
  • The trip commences in Ayers Rock on day 1 and finishes in Alice Springs day 3 at approx 6 pm. Whilst we aim to be back in Alice Springs around 6 pm, due to the distances covered onward flights from Alice Springs must be booked for the day after the tour.
  • For the Kings Canyon Rim Walk, it is a requirement that you have a minimum of 3 liters of water with you. Please bring your own refillable water bottles.
  • Itineraries are updated regularly throughout the year to reflect the current situation in each destination. Contributing factors such as weather, local conditions, transport schedules, public holidays, or other factors may lead to the order and timing of included activities to vary, this will ensure the best possible experience for all travelers.  
  • The tour is not suitable for children under 8 years of age.
  • Due to limited space on the vehicle please restrict luggage to one day pack and one soft overnight bag/backpack, with a maximum of 15kg. 
  • Travel Insurance and flexible flight tickets are highly recommended.  

This tour starts in Ayers Rock. Your pick up may be from the Yulara Airport or the Desert Gardens Hotel, this will depend on your time of travel.

This tour finishes on arrival in Alice Springs at around 6pm. Finishing times may be earlier during the summer months. Please take this into consideration when booking any onward travel out of Alice Springs. We cannot guarantee arriving in time to board the Ghan or any flight on this day. You will need to book an extra night of accommodation to extend your stay here, please contact our sales staff if you would like to arrange accommodation in Alice Springs after your tour.

On most days, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be included.

Our tours are activity and participation based. During your travels with us you will have the opportunity to assist with daily activities such as setting up camp, helping prepare meals and clearing dishes. None of this is difficult however many hands make light work and any assistance provided to crew is always much appreciated. Most people agree that this type of activity helps you feel like less of a tourist and more of an explorer.

All food for this trip is purchased and packed prior to your group leaving on day one. After we’ve left town it can be very difficult to source special dietary requests.

Travellers with special dietary requirements or food allergies are required to advise us at the time of booking. You may be asked to pay for any additional food if you have not advised us of any special dietary requirements. Due to the often remote nature of our trips, food is basic but plentiful and delicious.

The below dietary needs can be easily catered for.

NOTE: For those passengers commencing their trip in Yulara, lunch will not be provided on day one.

Central Australia, which includes Alice Springs and the Uluru/Kata-Tjuta region, has a semi-arid climate. The area experiences Australia’s four typical seasons: summer, autumn, winter and spring, with large variations in temperature from season to season.

In summer (December–February), average temperatures range between 20C (68F) and 35C (95F). In winter (June–August), the average temperature range is 3–20C (37–68F). Spring and autumn in Central Australia see warm days and cool evenings.

Temperatures in Central Australia can be extreme and can drop below 0C (32F) overnight in winter, and rise above 40C (104F) in summer.

Please check the weather conditions in the days leading up to your trip.

ITINERARY CHANGES: Please note that some of our planned activities are contingent on seasonal conditions. We will arrange alternative activities if this is the case. This is a flexible itinerary and may be altered to allow for better times to view certain inclusions depending on sunset/sunrise and weather conditions.

This isn’t a basic camping experience, as you’ll be treated to creature comforts such as proper beds, linen, electricity and cooling fans.

WINTER SCHEDULE – No lunch included. Pick up between 1.45-2.15pm from Desert Gardens, Outback Pioneer and Airport. Please advise flight details at time of booking and we will advise the best pick-up location for you. Please do not book any flights arriving after 2.00 pm as you will not be able to join the trip. It is essential you advise us of your flight times.

SUMMER SCHEDULE – Lunch included Pick up between 1-1.30pm from Desert Gardens, Outback Pioneer and Airport. Please advise flight details at time of booking and we will advise the best pick up location for you. Please do not book any flights arriving after 1.15pm as you will not be able to join trip. It is essential you advise us of your flight times.

We recommend you pack as lightly as possible and make sure that you are able to carry and lift your own luggage, and walk with it for short distances. Most travellers carry their luggage in a backpack, although an overnight bag with a shoulder strap would suffice if you travel lightly. Smaller bags or backpacks with wheels are convenient although we recommend your bag has carry straps. You’ll also need a day pack/bag to carry water, camera, and jacket etc. when you’re exploring during the day.

Will it be easy to find my way in the Moscow Metro? It is a question many visitors ask themselves before hitting the streets of the Russian capital. As metro is the main means of transport in Moscow – fast, reliable and safe – having some skills in using it will help make your visit more successful and smooth. On top of this, it is the most beautiful metro in the world !

. There are over 220 stations and 15 lines in the Moscow Metro. It is open from 6 am to 1 am. Trains come very frequently: during the rush hour you won't wait for more than 90 seconds! Distances between stations are quite long – 1,5 to 2 or even 3 kilometers. Metro runs inside the city borders only. To get to the airport you will need to take an onground train - Aeroexpress.

RATES AND TICKETS

Paper ticket A fee is fixed and does not depend on how far you go. There are tickets for a number of trips: 1, 2 or 60 trips; or for a number of days: 1, 3 days or a month. Your trips are recorded on a paper ticket. Ifyou buy a ticket for several trips you can share it with your traveling partner passing it from one to the other at the turnstile.

On every station there is cashier and machines (you can switch it to English). Cards and cash are accepted. 1 trip - 55 RUB 2 trips - 110 RUB

Tickets for 60 trips and day passes are available only at the cashier's.

1 day - 230 RUB 3 days - 438 RUB 30 days - 2170 RUB.

The cheapest way to travel is buying Troyka card . It is a plastic card you can top up for any amount at the machine or at the ticket office. With it every trip costs 38 RUB in the metro and 21 RUB in a bus. You can get the card in any ticket office. Be prepared to leave a deposit of 50 RUB. You can get it back returning the card to the cashier.

SamsungPay, ApplePay and PayPass cards.

One turnstile at every station accept PayPass and payments with phones. It has a sticker with the logos and located next to the security's cabin.

GETTING ORIENTED

At the platfrom you will see one of these signs.

It indicates the line you are at now (line 6), shows the direction train run and the final stations. Numbers below there are of those lines you can change from this line.

In trains, stations are announced in Russian and English. In newer trains there are also visual indication of there you are on the line.

To change lines look for these signs. This one shows the way to line 2.
