Getting around Miami

Driving is an easy way to get around Miami, but you’ll have plenty of options. You can find desks for rental car companies like Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise and Hertz at Miami Airport. You can also take the Miami Metrorail from Dadeland to Palmetto for just a few dollars. The Metrobus covers the whole county for similarly priced fares. If you need to change buses, make sure you ask for a transfer when you buy your ticket. You can also take the Metromover, a free automated people mover that runs downtown. It’s a great way to see Miami’s most popular tourist and shopping areas.

Why you should take a flight to Miami

Your trip to Miami brings you to the southern-most tip of Florida, near Cuba, where you’ll see a melting pot of culture and diversity. First-time travelers to Miami will find the city welcoming and catering to tourists. But before you break out your bikini and head to South Beach, take some time to explore other aspects of Miami.

Miami flights give way to Coral Gables and Miami Gardens, which are a short drive from the city center. Little Havana boasts one of the largest Cuban populations in the country. Miami visitors should also reserve a rental car for the duration of their trip. Take a drive through Miami-Dade County and enjoy the largest concentration of Art Deco buildings in the world. North Miami Beach features more modern architecture and Spanish-influenced designs and landscapes. Flying to Miami for a cheap vacation in South Beach means days on the beach and the nights at some of the hottest clubs in the country.

The Port of Miami – one of the largest ports in the U.S. – accommodates the major cruise lines. Cruise passengers embarking and debarking from Miami will do so via the Port of Miami Cruise Terminal and those passengers on Miami flights will be shuttled to/from the airport to the cruise port. Whatever the reason for booking a trip to Miami, visitors are likely to return home rejuvenated and ready to book their next Miami vacation.

 • Although it is not enforced strictly, there is an alleged curfew in effect for minors after 11pm on weeknights and midnight on weekends in all of Miami-Dade County. After these hours, children under 17 should not be out on the streets or driving unless accompanied by a parent or on their way to work. Remember that when you see them at Coconut Grove and on South Beach.
 • Around half of Miami’s population is Latin American. Visit the Museum of Hispanic & Latin American Art to better understand their culture. The annual Art Basel Miami Beach is helping the city fast become an art capital.
 • Take full advantage of South Beach Nightlife. Miami’s pulsating dance clubs are considered among the best in the world.
 • Explore the Everglades in an airboat and get close to the swamps’ inhabitants such as alligators, manatees, raccoons and Florida panthers.
 • The largest Botanical Gardens in the U.S., the Fairchild Tropical Garden , has 83 acres of palms and other exotic fronds. From Miami, the drive here through Coral Gables offers great views of some fine old Florida mansions. Open daily, admission is $10.
 • If you’re planning on leaving Miami and heading to Latin America, boarding a cruise ship, or transferring to another Miami flight, make sure you have the right identification and documentation with you. Most cruise lines only require a picture ID from U.S. citizens, but those travelers boarding Miami planes to other cities in other countries will need a valid passport.

Situated eight miles (13km) north-west of downtown Miami, Miami International Airport (MIA) is South Florida’s main airport. Due to a vast number of tourist attractions and sizable local populations, it’s one of the largest hubs in the US and acts as the country’s main gateway to Latin America. Having served just fewer than 36 million passengers in 2010, the airport is the 28th busiest in the world, with flights to Miami International Airport coming in from most continents.

Unfortunately, though, the airport has a reputation for being slow and disorganized, especially when it comes to luggage procedures. Passengers in transit often miss flights as they are required to clear immigration before collecting their baggage, after which they must then transfer it to their connecting flight. Moreover, it’s common practice for staff to remove bags from carousels and place them on the floor, leaving passengers to crowd around heaps of luggage and compete for a chance to locate theirs. Signage is lacking and unclear, and many airport personnel speak Spanish only.

However, MIA has a wide variety of eateries, bars and retail outlets to keep layover passengers amused. Musical performers also provide entertainment throughout the airport’s public spaces and numerous wall paintings add color and vibrancy to the interior of the terminal building.

Miami International Airport (MIA) is the primary airport for commercial flights to and from the Miami area. There are numerous domestic and international airlines that operate out of MIA. People that are interested in Miami flights can purchase special travel packages that include transportation, flight, and hotel accommodations. After your Miami flight arrives at MIA, you can take advantage of several ground transportation options that will get you anywhere along the shore or beyond. There are free shuttles supplied by MIA that will transport passengers to and from the airport to the nearby Tri-Rail commuter station or the Earlington Heights Metrorail Station. From here, passengers can reach Downtown Miami and South Beach.

Miami Weather

The tropical weather of Miami makes it one of the top vacation destinations in the country. Temperatures are between 70-85 degrees all year long. Flights to Miami during the winter season are used as an escape from frigid temperatures elsewhere in the world. Miami winters are usually warm and dry with temperatures in the 70s. The summer months in Miami can be hot and humid, but still nice enough to enjoy a plethora of outdoor activities like laying on one of the beautiful beaches along the coastline. No matter when you arrange flights to Miami, you will encounter warm temperatures that will make your stay delightful.

Getting Around Miami

Getting around Miami as soon as your flight arrives at MIA isn't too bad if you want to get around the city as quickly as possible. Renting a car while you're at the airport is a good idea, so prioritize a travel package that includes your plane tickets and car rental service making the most affordable route from point A to B to C. Other transportation options available to you after your flight to Miami include taxi, Metrorail, Metrobus, and the Metromover transit system. The Metrorail can take you to Downtown Miami or far from that bustle. The Metrorail is also connected to the Metromover, which will take you to, or near, Miami's most popular attractions.

Miami Attractions

A trip to Miami is well worth the time and effort it takes to plan a quality vacation. Miami has attractions that tourists have to see, including the following:

 • Jungle Island, where tropical birds and reptiles can be seen up close by visitors
 • Zoo Miami, where lions, komodo dragons, meerkats, gorillas, giraffes, and tree kangaroos all call home
 • Everglades National Park, swamps and sub-tropical jungles that make it one of the most unique public parks in the world
 • South Beach, this famous area has top-end hotels, restaurants, and shopping boutiques and great events like the Miami International Film Festival
 • Miami Seaquarium, visitors come here to enjoy the many sea creatures and exhibits held all-year long

Miami When to Go

Winter is so busy in Miami (particularly in South Beach) that locals call it simply “the season.” Europeans and snowbirds crowd the beaches, and major events like Art Basel (December), the Miami International Boat Show (February), and the South Beach Wine & Food Festival (February) pack the hotels. Still, with daytime temps hovering around 80 degrees and the ocean a pleasant 72 degrees, visitors escaping winter’s grip will hardly mind the crush.

Summer here is hot, humid, and prime hurricane season, but it’s becoming a popular time for those who crave solitude on South Beach, where the mellow ocean waters in the mid-80s have even the most reclusive locals donning barely there swimwear.

Shoulder seasons in spring and fall are also good alternatives if you want to beat the crowds. Reasonably priced hotel rooms are easier to snag, and the summer rain showers are absent. Just be aware of major events, like March’s gay Winter Party Festival and November’s esteemed Miami Book Fair International.

There was a time, and not long ago, when Miami was all about the debauchery and pastel-hued visuals of Miami Beach’s southernmost stretch. But the most seductive city in the Southeast—and the country’s definitive base for contemporary and historical Latin American and Caribbean culture—has grown into a global hub for art, creativity, and design that stretches far beyond South Beach’s sandy confines.

“Miami has finally become a city where the ideas can mature in their own neighborhoods and not everything has to gravitate to South Beach,” says Mike del Marmol of independent Miami creative studio, Sun&Sons . “People are finding their neighborhood pride and developing their own neighborhoods.” He adds that social media has helped pop-up events flourish in neighborhoods like West Kendall and Little River. “There’s the realization that something doesn’t have to be happening in Wynwood or on the beach to make it worth doing.”

Major events across the city in 2024 include Inter Miami’s (and Lionel Messi’s) 2024 Major League Soccer season, which kicks off at DRV PNK stadium in Fort Lauderdale in February (the team will move to its permanent home base, Inter Miami CF Stadium, when the 58-acre Miami Freedom Park opens sometime in 2025). The year rolls on at rapid pace, with Miami Music Week and Ultra Music Festival’s mix of electronic, house, and more in March at Bayfront Park and smaller venues across town, from beachside bars (Kill Your Idol) to downtown speakeasies (Floyd). Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix roars into town in May with watch parties galore; then comes III Points music festival in October—an indie/alternative version of Miami Music Week, with headliners like Iggy Pop and Skrillex in 2024. Art Basel Miami Beach and pop-ups and satellite art fairs (among them Design Miami/ and Untitled Art Fair ) finish out the year. In short, there’s never a down time of year to be here.

In a long weekend getaway, Miami promises nightlife, wildlife, natural beauty, and creative inspiration down every palm-lined block and wraps it in a sun-splashed package. Here’s how to spend four very fine days in Miami.

“Miami has finally become a city where the ideas can mature in their own neighborhoods and not everything has to gravitate to South Beach,” says Mike del Marmol of independent Miami creative studio, Sun&Sons.

Day 1: Explore the Little River neighborhood

For the city’s latest art- and culture-centric enclave with a refreshing lack of pretension and an open, welcoming vibe, try Little River, a former warehouse district just north of Wynwood and Little Haiti.

Head first to Dale Zine , which champions inclusivity and accessibility in the art world with a selection of zines and print art across genres, and contributions from people from all walks of life. Look for the independent printer’s mobile bookshop, which is housed inside a converted 1996 Honda Acty minitruck stocked with titles. The zine vendor is “the opposite of Taschen,” del Marmol says. “They’re authentic scene creators without trying to be scene creators,” adds Alex Burnard, his partner at Sun&Sons.

Continue the shopping at éliou , a ready-to-wear brand founded by childhood friends with a production and design studio in the neighborhood. Harry Styles is among the celebrities to don their jewelry. And if you’re in town on the third Saturday of the month, food and fashion market Walter’s Mercado pops up with a spread of curated vintage fashion finds, tropical plants, food trucks, and more.

Fuel a day of exploring with a variety of eats. Try La Natural , with its pretty garden, natural wines, and wood-fired sourdough pizzas, or Japanese 12-seater Ogawa , which just opened in December 2023 and has “probably the best sushi in Miami,” says Burnard.

End the day at The New Schnitzel House , where German comfort-food stars on the late-night menu include a traditional schnitzel, pounded thin and breaded and served with a lemon wedge and fries. “The food and drink are incredible,” Burnard says. “Plus it’s small, so you always feel like you are really being taken care of.” Thursday’s jazz nights at Understory , meanwhile, draw crowds to an urban garden packed with date palms, flowering vines, and tiki torches.

Day 2: Visit classic South Beach

Rise in time to catch a syrupy sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean from a suite at the Four Seasons Hotel at the Surfclub, Surfside, Florida, a family favorite thanks to the complimentary all-day kids club for ages 4 to 12.

Hop on one of the complimentary bicycles (or a Miami-Dade Transit bus) for a leisurely ride south to South Beach. Day 2: Visit classic South Beach

Rise in time to catch a syrupy sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean from a suite at the Four Seasons Hotel at the Surfclub, Surfside, Florida , a family favorite thanks to the complimentary all-day kids club for ages 4 to 12.

Hop on one of the complimentary bicycles (or a Miami-Dade Transit bus) for a leisurely ride south to South Beach. Day 3: Little Havana, downtown Miami, and Brickell

Start day three with a trip to Little Havana, where tourists still throng Versailles Restaurant and salsa-dancing hot spot Ball & Chain, made famous by the Cuban diaspora. Mandarin Oriental Miami’s concierge, Carlos Ayala, points to Old’s Havana Cuban Bar & Cocina as his favorite restaurant for authentic Cuban cuisine, with dishes like fricasé de pollo (chicken fricassee), picadillo, and vaca frita (crispy shredded beef) on the menu, and a courtyard filled with tropical plants and island memorabilia. Alternatively, hit the walk-up window at Sanguich de Miami a few blocks west, where husband-and-wife team Daniel Figueredo and Rosa Romero serve a gourmet spin on the classic Cuban sandwich, layered with house-fermented mustard, homemade pickles, and ham brined in house.

In downtown Miami, the Underline is due for completion in 2025. Opening in phases, the city’s 10-mile linear park and public outdoor art trail continues to transform 120 acres of land downtown into recreation space. Ayala recommends the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science for family travelers who want “an experience that is immersive and engaging for parents and children alike.” Between the 250-seat planetarium, the rooftop observation deck’s native vegetation exhibits, and aquarium habitats dedicated to Gulf Stream, mangrove, and Everglades environments, you can easily spend hours exploring. The Herzog & de Meuron–designed Pérez Art Museum Miami , nearby and right on the bay, features hanging gardens and incredible works by Cuban artists José Bedia Valdés and Wifredo Lam, among many other Latin American artists, including Colombian painter and sculptor Beatriz González and Mexican painter Diego Rivera.

End the day with a sunset walk around Brickell Key, which Nichole Walz of social group and community resource Brickell Women says is the finest walking loop in the city. “You can stroll right next to the water while spotting dolphins and manatees, all with an incredible Brickell skyline in view,” she says. Reward yourself at new Brickell bar P.N.O. , which has great cocktails, live piano music, and plush couches.

Flights to Miami for less than $100? Cheap airline tickets to nab this Spring and Summer

round trip to florida miami

Sometimes you just need to get away.

This spring and summer, there are a plethora of destinations with affordable roundtrip airfare, from bustling cities to sun-soaked beach paradises – both domestic and abroad. Think Puerto Rico, Ireland or Las Vegas.

Travelers should start looking at prices at least three to four months in advance for domestic trips, and the best prices generally will be one to two months before the departure date, according to travel app Hopper.

International trips require more planning, with flights to Asia and Oceania booked between five and seven months in advance. However, people going to Europe or elsewhere can wait until three and six months for the lowest rates.

As always, flexibility allows for better deals. Flying on a Tuesday or Wednesday could save travelers up to 30% compared to a weekend trip, Hopper said.

Brightline train on straight track

MIAMI — As the Spring Break surge approaches, Brightline continues to seek the right pricing strategy when operating 16 daily fixed-consist round trips between South Florida and Orlando, plus another two to handle early morning and late evening Miami-West Palm Beach travel.

A password-protected, 2,044-page supplement to a “Preliminary limited remarketing memorandum relating to $770 million in Florida Development Finance Corporation Revenue Bonds” contains a wealth of information most transportation providers aren’t required — or willing —to share. It reveals revenue and ridership data for February, released Wednesday, which reflects the balance Brightline marketing strategists face as demand varies by time, day, and dramatically different prices for city-pair combinations.

Table showing monthly Brightline ridership, revenue and cost-per-ticket figures, October-February, comparing 2023-24 to 2022-23.

The table above adds two operating months to an initial Trains News Wire evaluation [see “Brightline growth continues …,” Feb. 5, 2024]. During January and February, fares were deeply discounted on some runs while others sold out at higher prices. The supplement provides additional context behind the numbers:

— Approximately one of three trains operates at or near capacity; about half of departures have load factors of 80% or more.

— Restricting available capacity for short-distance trips is responsible for the continuing year-over-year decline of Miami-West Palm patronage. Higher short-distance fares could also be a factor.

— Daily bookings have risen from an initial 2,800 in October 2023, to 4,300 in February 2024, and 4,500 for the first half of March.

— South Florida-Orlando repeat customer bookings are increasing 15% month-over-month

— Confirming that 10 additional coaches are to be delivered by Siemens in 2024, the company estimates strategic placement of this extra capacity would have added an additional 50,000 passengers to the February totals.

Two Brightline trains at station

Brightline is now predicting 4.9 million passengers will use its trains in 2024. This is a downward revision from the 5.5 million it projected in December after it became clear that capacity constraints were impacting the Orlando-South Florida month-over-month trajectory

Additional growth sources are anticipated. An intermediate Treasure Coast station at Stuart, Fla., 37 miles north of West Palm Beach, could be ready as early as 2026 [see “Brightline ceremony marks the selection of Stuart, Fla. …,” News Wire, March 4, 2024]. Adding the stop in a congested coastal area that lacks speedy public transportation will clearly strengthen overall demand as stations at Aventura and Boca Raton, Fla., have done south of West Palm Beach.

With another “infill” stop at Cocoa, Fla., under development [see “Brightline to add Cocoa, Fla., station,” News Wire, March 13, 2024], it appears that congestion-free regional travel is poised to become a more important component of the Orlando-Miami mix than originally envisioned.

A more immediate wild card continues to be not if, but how many, non-Florida U.S. and international travelers will augment the growth as summer travel months approach. The company has stepped up its efforts to incentivize distribution channels that could help steer increased patronage its way.

However, figuring out when to add coaches to certain round trips is sure to make operations more complicated—but necessary, if Brightline is to accommodate the additional demand its marketing is able to generate. Will six-car trainsets be the answer? If so, which departures? Will amenity offerings change?

The bond memorandum projects that by 2026, Brightline will carry 8 million passengers, generating $695 million in ticket revenue. This is based on a WSP consultant’s study that assumes a 0.8% “real” and approximately 2.0% “nominal” fare growth in 2021 dollars.

This is how that forecast translates on a monthly basis.

Table of Brightline revenue and ridership projections

Comparing these numbers with what has been achieved in the first five months of operation shows there is a long way to go. Monthly delivery throughout the remainder of 2024 will likely fluctuate as the company tests different capacity and pricing. Trains News Wire will continue to monitor the journey in the months and years ahead.

The obvious solution to limited capacity per train set is to combine two train sets as practiced in Europe and Asia until additional coaches come online from Siemens.

TBH, the 4.9m rider number is probably still a dog that ain’t gonna hunt. While I suspect there is still additional ridership to be found on the existing capacity (e.g. no longer allowing self seat selection in Smart within South Florida might shake out some more capacity), I don’t think there is anywhere near /that/ much. With only 10 cars on order, 4.0m would be a massive stretch. 3.5m feels more realistic (they’re currently on a path to around 2.9m). Given the probable publication date, I have to sincerely ask how their lawyers aren’t screaming at those projections. For reference, adding one car per train with a presumed 64 seats (with 16 round-trips per day) adds 747,520 seats per year, so expecting it to add 500-600k riders/year feels about right (there’s going to be some seat turnover to offset the fact that you’ll almost never get but so close to a 100% load factor). This is somewhat problematic, however, as if you extend that out further, it implies that in order to get to the 4.9m riders you need seven-car trains, not five-car trains. Setting the uncertain timelines on Stuart, Cocoa, and the Sunshine Corridor aside, Brightline’s 2026 projections of 8m riders or so would nominally require 13-car trains under such a model (I presume you’d instead be looking at additional sets of perhaps 10-car trains), and Brightline does not have anywhere near that many cars on order (I believe they have 30 cars on order at the moment, not 90).

Another issue is that they need a few more sets to cover Miami-West Palm Beach with a modest number of dedicated runs at peak times. I know that heavy commuter traffic was not really the original plan, and whenever the Northeast Corridor gets rolling that’ll muck with ridership, but around that time they should have the Tampa segment coming online. By their own numbers, the MIA-WPB segment went into the black last March, but they’ve run away quite a bit of that ridership because of the need for through pax from Orlando to points south of West Palm Beach (Boca-Fort Lauderdale is the “pinch point” in almost every model bringing everything together).

I’ve been fiddling with ridership forecasts on this front for a while, and Brightline’s projected ridership has always been somewhat at odds with their capacity. I forget the exact numbers, but one version of their modeling was projecting something like a 130% load factor Boca-Fort Lauderdale versus stated/expected train capacity. It has been exceedingly obvious that they were going to need more trains to reach their stated ridership numbers for several filings (see the notes above on the capacity needed to achieve 8m riders/yr).

As to trying to run different-length sets, the issue there is that if I had to guess the trains that are running emptier don’t “turn” as one another. Let’s take the last train out of Miami and the last train out of Orlando: The last train out of Miami leaves at 9:45 PM and tends to be a cheap fare (the one before it leaves at 8:50 PM and is sometimes the same price and sometimes a bit more). For tomorrow (Wednesday), they are presently $39 and $44, respectively, MIA-ORL. However, both of those are going to turn off of either the trains arriving at 9:15 PM/8:20 PM or 8:20 PM/7:15 PM, which in turn depart Orlando at either 4:50 PM/5:50 PM or 3:50 PM/4:50 PM. Going the other way, the last train out of Orlando departs at 8:50 PM, meaning it is going to turn off of either the train arriving into Orlando at 8:15 PM or the one arriving at 7:15 PM. Note that the former is a peak rush hour train out of Miami which is basically turning to run as a “cleanup train” in terms of relative loads. By the same token, those early-morning trains into Miami from West Palm Beach are basically positioning moves for peak rush hour runs back north. So it isn’t “that simple” and in all likelihood the juice isn’t worth the squeeze for doing this on a sustained basis.

“However, figuring out when to add coaches to certain round trips is sure to make operations more complicated, but necessary” To quote the article. Sure glad Brightline operates from this prospective, unlike disfunctional Amtrak.

Ten sets in service. Ten coaches to delivered this year. The way it was, no guarantee any specific set operates the same schedule every day. The sets needed to be homogeneous so any train can run any schedule any day. I don’t think it likely they would mix six and four car sets. Five car sets this year, six car sets sometime in 2025…unless they kick it up a gear.

All nice charts but are they making any money after expenses, equipment costs, employee costs, new stations, track work, etc

This only shows passenger operations revenue. There are other revenue sources not shown. Ancillary revenue is also expected to grow, especially on the Miami – Orlando route.

This is a long term play, so there are still more revenue sources that haven’t even developed yet, especially on the real estate side.

They desperately need those additional cars in the West Palm – Miami segment. Complaints of sell outs as the trains get closer to Miami Central are becoming more normal. Also, complaints about delays of up to 45m due to the “bridge open” rules at Stuart is causing problems.

On the Orlando destination side, there is more tolerance of the delays, but its the heading back to Miami where a 45m bridge open delay hurts the most, hence the need for another trainset so they can turn it around faster to maintain frequency.

This is puzzling. BL expected how much capacity they would have by this time. How could revenue projections for this year originally be inflated? Could it be BL originally expected the additional cars by this time? So, when are the cars now due to be in revenue service?

This private venture in high-speed travel (American style) is an interesting contrast to Amtrak. How many new Acela trainsets are sitting in yards unused – a sad measure of their competence to purchase and operate new equipment.

Condor Airlines takes flight from MIA to Frankfurt with year-round service

Just in time for the peak spring and summer travel seasons, Condor Airlines landed at its newest U.S. gateway on March 26. Miami International Airport welcomed the arrival of Condor flight #2044 from Frankfurt (FRA) at 7:15 p.m. and the departure of DE flight #2045 to Frankfurt at 9:10 p.m., arriving in FRA the next morning at 11:40 a.m. The non-stop flight will be operated three days a week (Tuesday, Friday, Saturday) on Condor’s next-generation Airbus A330neo aircraft with its eye-catching striped livery to the airline’s Frankfurt hub with easy connections to more than 100 destinations throughout Europe and beyond. Miami joins Condor’s growing list of North American gateways that have gone from seasonal-only service to year-round service.

We are thrilled that Condor has chosen Miami International Airport for its only service in the state of Florida and its newest route in the U.S. We proudly welcome their three weekly flights from Frankfurt, which provide another appealing travel option between Miami-Dade County and Germany.

The fuel-efficient Airbus A330-900neo aircraft reduces fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions by 20 percent, consuming just half a gallon of fuel per passenger per 62 miles flown. It is the first aircraft in the world already certified for the regulatory reduction in CO 2 emissions, which will be required by 2028, and that subsequently will reduce travelers’ environmental footprint, according to Condor. Condor’s A330neo accommodates 310 passengers with four Prime Seats, 26 seats in Business Class, 64 seats in Premium Economy Class, and 216 seats in Economy Class.

It is with great pleasure that we introduce Condor and our new A330neo product into the Sunshine State. The demand for our new non-stop out of MIA into the heart of Europe has been so strong that we are pleased to extend what was originally to be a seasonal route into a year-round operation. This provides both European-bound American travelers as well as German vacationers coming to South Florida with an affordable and convenient year-round flight that will also have a positive impact on the local Miami economy.

Condor’s A330neo Business Class offers fully lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration with direct aisle access for all guests. The seats conveniently convert to a bed with a length of 78” and a width of 19”. Guests have access to the latest movies, TV series, podcasts, and games, all accessible on a 17.3” screen in 4K mode, with touchscreen and remote-control options. The Prime Seats in the first row of the Business Class provide guests with added space large enough to accommodate two guests if they wish to dine together and an extra-large, 24-inch entertainment screen. The “Prime Seats” feature exclusive in-flight amenities such as a premium travel kit, inflight pajamas, and a premium snack basket.

Sean Combs’ Accused ‘Mule’ Arrested at Miami Airport on Cocaine and Marijuana Charges

A 25-year-old man accused in a recent lawsuit of being Sean Combs ’ drug “mule” was arrested on Monday on cocaine and marijuana possession charges, according to arrest records obtained by Rolling Stone.

A Brief Look at Diddy’s History of Controversies and Allegations

Where’s sean combs everything we know — and don’t — about federal raids, sean combs’ homes raided as part of sex trafficking investigation.

Brendan Paul was taken into custody by Miami -Dade police on Monday afternoon at Opa-Locka Airport around 4:30 p.m. Police were working alongside Homeland Security agents when the arrest was made, according to the arrest affidavit. Brian Bieber, Paul’s attorney said in a statement to Rolling Stone, “We do not plan on trying this case in the media – all issues will be dealt with in Court.”

It’s unclear if Paul’s arrest is connected to the wider investigation into Combs or where he was headed at the airport. Combs was confirmed to be in Florida at the time of the raid, according to NBC News , and officials reportedly seized his phones before he was scheduled to leave for a trip to the Caribbean. (In video footage obtained by TMZ Monday afternoon, Combs can be seen in Miami pacing around outside the airport. Miami Police tell Rolling Stone they had no record of Combs being arrested by their department.)

Arresting officers claimed Paul had “the contraband inside his personal travel bags … [and] the suspect cocaine was located and tested.” Paul was taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami. He is currently being held on two $2,500 bonds for two charges: cocaine possession and possession of a controlled substance.

Jones’ lawsuit was the latest to accuse Combs of sexual assault alongside harassment and not compensating him for work on the Grammy-nominated The Love Album . Jones claims he witnessed Paul “acquire and distribute” drugs to Combs and his associates. “Members of the enterprise and their associates procured, transported and distributed ecstasy, cocaine, GHB, ketamine, marijuana, mushrooms, and tuci by packing these substances in their carry-on luggage and going through TSA,” the lawsuit claims.

R&B singer Cassie’s bombshell complaint against Combs on Nov. 16 has kicked off a tidal wave of sexual abuse allegations against Combs, alleging he subjected her to vicious beatings, sex trafficking, and rape. In her 35-page filing that started with a bright red “trigger warning,” Cassie claimed Combs punched, kicked, and “stomped” on her and forced her to have drug-fueled intercourse with male sex workers during arrangements he dubbed “freak offs.” In a statement, Combs’ lawyer said the lawsuit was a financial shakedown “riddled with baseless and outrageous lies.” ( Diddy reached a private settlement with Cassie one day later.)

One week later, as New York’s Adult Survivors Act was set to expire, two more women stepped forward on Thanksgiving Day with similarly disturbing claims against Combs. The second accuser alleged Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her when she was a Syracuse University student in 1991. The woman claimed Combs filmed the incident and showed the video to others in an act described as “revenge porn.” Through a rep, Combs denied the allegation. “This last-minute lawsuit is an example of how a well-intentioned law can be turned on its head. (This) 32-year-old story is made up and not credible. Mr. Combs never assaulted her, and she implicates companies that did not exist. This is purely a money grab and nothing more,” the spokesperson said.

The third lawsuit was from Liza Gardner, who alleged she was 16 when Combs and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall took turns raping her following an Uptown Records event in 1990. She further claimed that a day later, Combs turned “irate and began assaulting and choking” her until she almost “passed out” because he was worried she might divulge what happened. “These are fabricated claims falsely alleging misconduct from over 30 years ago and filed at the last minute,” a Combs spokesperson said of Gardner’s lawsuit. “This is nothing but a money grab.”

Kenan Thompson Says 'Investigate More' in Emotional Response to ‘Quiet on Set’ Revelations

Skid row finally find the right frontperson: lzzy hale, where's sean combs everything we know — and don't — about federal raids, 'just die': colorado elections chief who took on trump sees 600% spike in threats.

Combs has denied any wrongdoing in each case. Still, he stepped down from the chairmanship of his Revolt TV media company last year as more than a dozen companies fled his e-commerce platform. In January, liquor giant Diageo cut him loose in a private settlement under which Combs will no longer be a joint owner of the tequila brand DeLeón or have any ties to Cîroc vodka.

Top 5 airlines serving from Detroit to Miami

Food service was bare-bone. Better bot to have any at all rather than hand out premade coffees and cookies to random few passengers.

Bathroom broke, had to rush to board because of late exit of previous flight

Had assistance at airport getting from arrivals gate to departure gate; I couldn't have managed without that extra help. Thank you Delta.

They charge me for the luggage which is was included on the ticket

First time travel in economy and the worst experience I ever had ! Shame on paying 600 dollars to be in a tuna can ! Service was terrible no even water no even class no even matters your flight attendants were lazy and sloppy very bad experience! After all these years traveling in first and once I try this cause I need to go to a destination for an emergency wow shame on you !

More space in the cabin. The guy in front of me leaned his seat back and I felt he was sitting in my lap.

Was a great smooth flight from Detroit to San Diego.

Late flight, always blaming the flight crew, stale almonds, pushy people. Why don’t they have the people sitting in the back board first? So much easier getting through an empty plane! Duh!!

The Delta flight was delayed for maintenance issue. The crew is also delayed and I’ve been there at the same time as I was so it was really outside the hands of crew directly. However, where Delta failed was there was about eight other ways for me to get to my final destination and they did not offer changes beyond the initial one. The flight was delayed five hours when they had to change my connecting flight they had to downgrade my premium class for so far zero compensation and I’m still waiting on the results of a formal complaint. All in all this was the worst experience I’ve had with Delta in quite some time. Carrying the review for my first light over to this one, I was downgraded a class and because of my status I’ve only flown comfort plus or higher in some years I was unaware of things like drink vouchers, or anything like that, as far as I knew drinks were complimentary. The attendant was unnecessarily nasty towards me when I was just asking her to explain how it works and I showed her my first class ticket even though I was in the back of the plane and she was still equally unhelpful and frustrated. I’m not saying that the first class ticket should allow better treatment. I’m saying that I was showing that normally I would’ve had it for free beverage and so I didn’t know what she was talking about, she didn’t need to be so frustrated. Outside of that if the flight was 2 1/2 hours and the snack and beverage options did not become available until the final 30 minutes of the flight when we were on the descent, so any snacks and drinks were quickly rushed away. I do not know if this is common for what main cabin normally experiences but I hope it isn’t because that level of customer service and tending to the needs of the passengers is below what I would call essential.

As we lined up to board they gave our plane to a flight going to Newark. So then we got delayed until they could find another plane. Flight crew was ok. I’m assuming since it’s a shorter flight they only offered water and coffee.

The crew were really great, but the 4 hour delay in small chunks was the worst.

Everything was very good. Boarding and takeoff were on time and organized. Had a good flight

Other than the two hour delay, it was fine. Of course they were very professional and kept us informed throughout the whole delay..

Good. The wife was not working but then it got resolved.

Good boarding. Crew started quick with drinks and food. They came around several times for trash which I really liked. Other than turbulence due to storms in the area, flight was great.

Seats are way too snug for my hip to knee ratio and the recline on the seat in front of me made my experience worst. My legs had no room at all. Not a plane for people 6 ft or over unless you fly first class.

Staff friendly and app worked really well. Modest delays were frustrating

Poor. 3 hours on the tarmac waiting for maintenance. We’re told numerous times it will be 10 minutes. Once going tv was blurry. Seat cramped. Not good at all. Missed an important meeting as a result.

On long flights with semi-comfortable seats the airline needs to accommodate for the need to stand up. Otherwise a fight becomes pure torture. Not even business class provides for that.

Wasn’t very crowded. Seamless processes. No issues traveling with two little kids.

Lots of weather delays that were poorly communicated and managed. I get there are weather delays but they didn’t make it clear what was happening or comfortable on the plane

Me and my husband experienced very bad in American Airlines. We missed our flight going to Doha. The American Airlines was delayed we arrived already 10:27pm. Supposed to be 9:40 pm. So what they did they rebooked our flight and they gave us a hotel. When we arrived at the hotel the front desk said it was fully booked already. Oh my gosh! I said why did you accept the booking if it's fully booked. The guy said that's American Airlines they just book even it's already full. That's 2am already, we have nothing to do so, we decided to go another hotel. We pay the room, food and taxi. Pls give an action on this matter. Refund our expenses and give us more compensation. Not only our room, food, taxi but also our efforts, tiredness looking for a room that can accommodate us.

No meal on a cross country flight? SFO-MiA is pretty much the definition of a coast to coast flight. No meal provided. Sky high wi-fi rates too. Stop nickel and diming your customers.

Absolutely filthy flight and not equipped for a trans US

The male steward shoved me hard when i sleeping on the isle, woke me up the only way incan descripe it was Violently. I wanted to cause a scene but was able to putnmy anger innch check, i want complain to AA

Good over all but my flight from. Miami to Barbados the airplane was very dirty like I have never seen before. It looked like that plane hasn’t been cleaned in a long time and I fly about one time a month.

Everything was very good EXCEPT the food, on a five and a half hour trip. They only gave to us was snacks in first class. They didn't give us pillows or blankets.

Very disappointed with the crew and the lack of attention given to the passengers. On a 5 hour flight they never offered a snack. One time offered a beverage and didn’t pick up the used cups until the flight was on final approach. The two flight attendants in our section mentioned that they were best friends and compared their pre flight shoes. When paying for first/business class there is a level of service that should be expected. These two spent the majority of the flight in their seats playing on their phones and laughing with each other. Very frustrating!!!

Both flights were delayed. One by an hour and the other by 1 1/2 hours after boarding.

Mas información, nos quedamos parado en el avión media hora

The airplane was extremely hot the air conditioner wasn’t working I

Seats horrible. No way of getting comfortable . But flight ran smoothly

The flight and the crew was good. I was surprised that you had to pay for a snack and drink But overall everything was fine. Thank you for getting us here safely

Actual CLT experience was rough. I've never seen the airport as bad in regards to security lines and wait. (For not being a holiday) A lot of folks missed their flight this morning. Spirit is fine. But wasnt offered a beverage somehow. No worries but some how I missed it.

Cancelled my flight , currently stuck in Houston and will likely miss my cruise

Some People complain about Spirit Airlines, I love it! It cost nothing and if you know the simple baggage rules, and you are smart enough to chose your seat, the flight is amazing.

Passengers play their phones so everyone can hear them. No one tells them to use earbuds. Very annoying and unenjoyable.

We reached alomat 45 mins before but we were not allowed to checkin. I tried check in online 4 or 5 times but was always getting an error. The agents at Boston logan airport were very very rude and unwilling to help inspite of the fact that we were travelling with a small kid. Finally I was unable to checkin my bag and we ended up booking other airlines for Miami. Finally understood that we were unable to check in online coz we had a kid with us and we that when there is a kid, we have to check in at airport.

I paid for internet and it didnt work. Server was down

I liked how we boarded early to combat all the chaos from people bringing oversized personal item luggage. It's so painful watching the process and feeling overwhelmed by the process.

First time flying Frontier, I am not sure the Ala Carte menu of options is for me.

I liked getting off the plane. Everything else was well below standards. Not even offering a bag of peanuts for free for a 4 hours flight is ridiculous.

There was no wifi, there was no usb charger on the planes Frontier lowered the weight limit on suitcases from 50 to 40 pounds Frontier now charges for a seat...really? If i don't pay for a basic seat, do i stand the whole flight? Frontier now charges for the carry on, just like for the checked suitcase The bundle pricing is way over priced.

Bought seats on the flight and they were supposed to be 2 and a jumpseat. Plane clearly changed and it was a regular 3 seat row. Asked for a refund and was denied. If I wanted to sit next to someone else I wouldn't have bought the seats..

Flying frontier reminded me of flying with my family in the 80’s in all of the worst ways possible. From poor customer service to little to no technology. The plane was dirty old and also stuck in the 80’s. From their seatbelts to not having anywhere to charge our phones the seats and the equipment I wasn’t sure if I was being punked or thrown back in time. Needless to say I don’t see myself flying frontier ever again.

Everything was on time and smoothly run. All employees appeared happy and enjoying their job. The delay in take-off was unrelated to anything in Frontier’s control. I wish there were a caffeine-fee, sugar free soda drink option besides water. There are multiple zero sugar caffeine free options.

Everything was on time and smoothly run. All employees appeared happy and enjoying their job. The delay in take-off was unrelated to anything in Frontier’s control.

Xmas Day- Flights were on time for departure and arrival, baggage check in and boarding process were hassle free, baggage also arrived without any delay. Satisfied customer on this journey.

I like that the flight was not overcrowded, and I felt had space to spread out a little more. The flight was smooth for the most part no major turbulence. The crew was pretty good accommodating and professional.. the fellow passengers were cool as well… all good! Snacks always makes things better, but of course there were no snacks.

Be prepared for crowds and chaos upon arrival at the Orlando airport
