The 12 best all-inclusive cruises for 2024.

When most of the extra costs are paid before you sail, you can truly enjoy your cruise.

The Best All-Inclusive Cruises

Sit back and relax on an all-inclusive cruise vacation.

When it comes to all-inclusive cruises, there are a few different options:

  • Luxury cruise lines: All-inclusive cruise rates are available on luxury lines like Regent Seven Seas and Silversea. While more expensive than traditional cruise rates , the fares cover nearly everything, including door-to-door transfers, luxurious suite accommodations, specialty dining , premium alcoholic beverages and excursions. Plus, you don't need to show your cruise card every time you order a latte or a pre-dinner cocktail. You'll disembark the ship with very few, if any, additional charges on your final bill.
  • Cruise lines with inclusive pricing: Alternatively, you can consider an upscale cruise line like Viking, which offers fares with more-inclusive pricing and some of the amenities found on board the fully inclusive lines. However, you'll still have to budget for a few expenses, such as immersive excursions and alcoholic beverages beyond wine or beer at lunch and dinner.
  • Packages and add-ons: Other cruise lines like Oceania, Windstar and Norwegian offer add-on drink packages and other promos so you can create a more all-inclusive experience.

After comparing the costs between a truly all-inclusive cruise and a sailing with package pricing for the extras, the total price may be closer than you think.

The culinary offerings with S.A.L.T. also include shore excursions, where guests can tour a 500-year-old family winery and vineyard in Croatia, visit an organic farm in Denmark, or learn to make gelato in Sicily.

More-Inclusive Cruises

Cruise fares with these lines include many of the amenities and perks that you'll find with the all-inclusive cruises. However, you'll still need to budget for some expenses, such as alcoholic beverages, excursions and specialty dining, depending on the line.

Viking's ocean fleet of nine 930-passenger all-veranda ships offers a nearly all-inclusive experience for guests. The upscale Scandinavian-inspired ships feature king-bed staterooms and suites with many amenities, including luxurious linens and plush robes, 24-hour room service, and free Wi-Fi – plus an in-room minibar with soft drinks, water and snacks. Higher-category staterooms on Viking Ocean Cruises come with additional perks like priority dinner and spa reservations, early stateroom access, and a welcome bottle of Champagne.

Cruise fares also include complimentary dining at all the venues; one free shore excursion in every port; beer, wine and soft drinks at lunch and dinner; specialty teas, coffee and bottled water; access to the spa; lectures and performances; port taxes and fees; and more.

Viking also has two 378-passenger Polar Class 6 expedition vessels, Viking Octantis and Viking Polaris. These ships also offer a mostly all-inclusive experience with the same amenities as their oceangoing vessels. Pricing on the expedition sailings includes Zodiac safaris, the use of kayaks, a keepsake Viking jacket, and essential gear for excursions and landings.

Select excursions, pre- or post-dinner cocktails, spa treatments, special bottles of wine, and other optional purchases come at an additional expense.

Azamara's four upscale boutique ships carry a maximum of 702 guests and offer immersive experiences around the world, calling on many smaller, lesser-known ports. The line also boasts more than 380 overnights and 850 late nights in port, so guests can have dinner in town and experience more of the destination's local culture and cuisine.

Azamara's cruise fares include all meals (other than the specialty dining restaurants) with water, tea and coffee. A selection of complimentary wine, sparkling wine, beer and spirits is available throughout the voyage. Cultural evenings ashore or on board the ship and gratuities are also included in the basic cruise fare.

If you'd like to enhance your onboard experience, Azamara offers inclusive "Experience More" packages that are discounted and based on the length of the voyage.

For example, on a seven-day or shorter sailing, solo travelers can add a package for $799 that's valued at $1,114 (a savings of 28%). This value-add bundle includes $350 of onboard credit to use for shore excursions; unlimited Wi-Fi for one device; a drinks package featuring premium wines, spirits and bottled water; a $150 spa credit; and a dinner at the Chef's Table or a total of three nights of specialty dining at Prime C or Aqualina. Three bags of laundry are also included.

Guests can book similar packages for double occupancy staterooms and longer voyages. You can also choose individual beverage, dining or internet packages if you don't need the extra amenities or features of the bundled options.

Virgin Voyages' four superyacht-inspired ships are designed with adults in mind and feature 1,330 cabins (most with balconies) and 78 RockStar Quarters suites, where guests have access to Richard's Rooftop, an exclusive outdoor deck space. Pricing with the adults-only cruise line includes stateroom or suite accommodations and meals at more than 20 eateries serving up international cuisine and dishes created by Michelin-starred chefs. Guests also have access to complimentary Wi-Fi; unlimited group exercise classes; nonalcoholic drinks such as water, tea and coffee; and plenty of lively entertainment.

Virgin does not offer beverage packages, but the line at times advertises special promotions that include voyage credits to cover expenses like airfare and drinks. Shore excursions and spa treatments – including skin care offerings on board Scarlet Lady in partnership with Jennifer Lopez, Virgin's chief entertainment and lifestyle officer – are some of the additional expenses not covered in the base fare.

Add-on Packages and All-Inclusive Fares

These five cruise lines offer basic cruise fares that cover accommodations and some amenities – and you can typically find special pricing and promotional deals throughout the year.

With the optional packages, guests can create a mostly all-inclusive voyage with bundles of add-on extras, such as shore excursions, beverage packages, specialty dining, Wi-Fi, gratuities or shipboard credit to cover miscellaneous personal expenses such as spa treatments or a bottle of wine for a special celebration.

Oceania Cruises

Oceania's eight small luxury ships carry between 648 and 1,238 guests. The line's newest ship – Vista , the first Allura Class vessel – debuted in Rome in May 2023. The beautifully appointed vessel features four new dining concepts, spacious standard staterooms at 290-plus square feet in size, new Concierge Level veranda accommodations for solo cruisers, an elevated mixology program and more.

Oceania's culinary program is touted by the line as "The Finest Cuisine at Sea" under the tutelage of Jacques Pépin, executive culinary director and master chef. Complimentary specialty dining is included in cruise fares on Oceania sailings. Pricing also covers airfare, still and sparkling water, specialty teas and coffees, soft drinks, and Wi-Fi on the ship.

Oceania's "OLife Choice" package provides additional value to your cruise with 2-for-1 cruise fares, free round-trip airfare and airport transfers – plus one free amenity you'll choose out of eight complimentary shore excursions, a beverage package or up to $800 in shipboard credit.

Celebrity offers special rates and packages throughout the year that save money over a la carte pricing – and elevate your onboard experience to be more inclusive. You'll be able to access the best deal on the added perks if you book the upgraded package before you sail, saving up to 40 to 50 percent of the actual cost.

The line's "All-Included" package bundles the most popular add-ons for cruisers: a standard beverage package for alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, unlimited basic Wi-Fi, and gratuities for the staff and crew. Pricing depends on the stateroom or suite category and sailing.

There are other options when booking a cruise with Celebrity to create a more upscale and all-inclusive experience. Guests staying in all-suite The Retreat have exclusive access to a sundeck (on select ships), a lounge and Luminae – a private restaurant that features Global Culinary Ambassador Daniel Boulud at the helm. Guests of The Retreat booking the "All-Included" package receive a premium beverage package, premium unlimited Wi-Fi, gratuities and an onboard credit.

If you book AquaClass accommodations, you'll also have access to complimentary amenities and perks, such as unlimited access to the SEA Thermal Suite, discounts on spa treatment packages and complimentary fitness classes. In addition, you'll also find a bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival (by request) and two bottles of water refreshed daily in your room. AquaClass guests also have exclusive access to the restaurant Blu. You can add the "All-Included" package to your booking, which will include the Classic Drinks Package, basic Wi-Fi and gratuities.

Passengers who want to book this "All-Included" package and are sharing a stateroom or suite will need to book the same package.

"Free at Sea Plus" takes the package up a notch with a more comprehensive beverage selection, including top-shelf cocktails, Champagne by the glass, bottles of select premium wines at dinner and signature Starbucks coffee drinks. This option also includes unlimited Wi-Fi, additional nights of specialty dining and shore excursions.

Imagine indulging nonstop in champagne, caviar, and lobster every day aboard a cruise—and not needing to pay one cent extra. All-inclusive cruises make fantasies like these reality by bundling many luxurious amenities into the voyage fare. And savvy cruisers know that the perk-laden, all-inclusive itineraries make for the most lavish, stress free vacations.

Plus, there’s no need to worry about getting your money’s worth, as most luxury lines offer benefits for every type of traveler, from personal butlers, 24-hour room service, and complimentary spa treatments, to top-shelf liquor, business-class airfare, and fee-free shore excursions. Add enticing destinations like Japan, Iceland, and Northern Africa to the mix, and the fact that it all happens aboard some of the most stylish and boutique ships at sea, and you can see why all-inclusive itineraries are some of the most popular in the cruise industry.

Read on for everything you need to know about all-inclusive cruises, from booking tips to some of our favorite itineraries.

Is there such a thing as an all-inclusive cruise?

All-inclusive cruises definitely exist, primarily on luxury cruise lines and some upper-premium lines. Award-winning luxury lines Regent Seven Seas, Seabourn, and Silversea , all with multiple ships, offer the most inclusions in cruise fares. Upper-premium cruise lines, particularly award-winning Viking, bundle more amenities into cruise prices than other non-luxury lines.

What’s in an all-inclusive cruise?

All-inclusive cruising is a rather tricky term, as each cruise line offering them puts their own spin on the definition. Luxury cruising delivers the most inclusive voyages, typically bundling dining, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service, port and tax fees, and gratuities into fares.

Some cruise lines bundle in even more enviable perks, such as airfare, either economy, chartered, or business class, airport-to-ship transfers, laundry service, most or all specialty dining, and most or all shore excursions. Sometimes, all-inclusive cruises have special offers to include a pre-cruise hotel night, or pre- or post-cruise land programs, including tours and hotel stays.

With the best, most all-inclusive cruises , the only extra charges typically appearing on a final bill are spa and salon treatments, private fitness training, premium alcohol, and purchases in boutiques or cigar lounges.

How much is an all-inclusive cruise?

All-inclusive cruises usually run between $500 to $1,500 per person per day. Multiple factors influence the pricing range: The line’s inclusion level, the competitiveness or exclusivity of the itinerary, and the itinerary date. It's less expensive to cruise during shoulder season, when the weather may be chillier or rainier, say May in Alaska or April on the Mediterranean , versus high season, when the weather is at its best. Price is also influenced if a ship is repositioning (an itinerary transiting from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, for example), which also decreases costs. Consider expedition cruises the priciest as their costs are higher; they sail with multiple expedition experts and much excursion and scientific equipment, plus most or all shore excursions are included. Antarctic luxury sails requiring chartered flights to fly over the Drake Passage are the priciest, and can run up to $3000 per person per day.

What is the best cruise line to go with?

The best all-inclusive cruise lines for 2022 and beyond, in alphabetical order, are Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Scenic, Seabourn, Silversea, and Viking. All showcase stunning ships with all suites (other than Viking) and inviting public venues, and deliver impeccable service and excellent cuisine.

To assist in deciding which line would be your personal best, look hard at the itinerary and inclusions. For instance, if searching for an Alaskan cruise, know that shore excursions are vital to an in-depth experience. Look for a cruise line including most or all, as those additional costs rapidly add up. Regent Seven Seas and Silversea include most or all shore excursions, as do Scenic and Seabourn expedition ships.

If you primarily prefer exploring individually, like on a New England fall foliage or Caribbean cruise , you might care more about complimentary specialty dining in-suite and about the ship, and sipping free custom martinis poolside or in buzzy bars. Then select a Seabourn ocean liner, where shore excursions are not factored into pricing.

Are you a caviar devotee? Look to Seabourn and Silversea for offering free premium caviar, anytime, anywhere, beautifully presented with all the accouterments. If you’re a die-hard foodie idolizing superstar chef Thomas Keller of Napa’s French Laundry fame, choose Seabourn to feast on his dishes at Keller’s only at-sea restaurant and also on Keller-influenced plates in other dining venues.

Cultural wonders of Japan with Scenic

Scenic currently offers one “adventure yacht,”  Scenic Eclipse , with near-twin  Scenic Eclipse II  debuting in 2023. The sleek and glamorous expedition vessel feels most yacht-like among our best all-inclusive cruise list.

In June 2023, the Scenic Eclipse will voyage throughout Japan , visiting a total of eight cities in the country. Ports of call include Hakodate on the island of Hokkaido—where travelers can hike to the summit of active volcano Mt. Esan for spectacular views or visit the Hakodate Morning Market—as well as stops in Aomori, home to the world's largest virgin beech tree forest, and Hagi, known for its preserved castle town from the Edo era.

Among inclusions, count on all-suite accommodations with verandas or terraces, butler service for every passenger, up to 10 complimentary dining experiences, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (including a stunningly sexy 100-bottle whisky bar), in-suite minibar stocked with passenger favorites, Wi-Fi, internal country flights, airport-to-ship transfers, all gratuities—even for shore excursions. The spa features many complimentary offerings, such as thermal loungers and meditation classes. As an expedition ship, exploration “toys,” such as Zodiacs, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards, are complimentary. The only extra exploration fees are for submarine and helicopter rides.

Venice, the Adriatic, and Greece with Viking

Spend eight days cruising the Adriatic and Ionian seas aboard this Viking sailing, which visits four countries across six ports of call. After departing from Venice , one of Viking's ocean ships (several operate this itinerary) will visit Split and Dubrovnik in Croatia; Kotor, Montenegro; as well as Corfu and Katakolon in Greece, before docking in Athens.

As the sole upper-premium line on this list, Viking includes many luxury-line-level perks in the cruise fare. On ocean and expedition cruises, passengers receive one complimentary shore excursion in each port, 24-hour room service, Wi-Fi, specialty dining, soft drinks, beer and wine with lunch and dinner, specialty coffee drinks and tea. If purchasing airfare through Viking, ship transfers are also complimentary.

Viking’s complimentary spa access is a huge perk, as the Thermal Suite, which includes a steam, sauna, real snow grotto, whirlpool, cold-water splash and plunge pool, is a spa devotee’s dream-come-true. Also, staterooms are more upscale than on competitive premium lines. They feature king, not queen, beds, and oversized bathrooms with anti-fog mirrors, glass-enclosed showers, and heated bathroom floors.

Silversea's Arctic and Anarctic expedition sailings are part of its allinclusive cruise offerings.

Iceland, Faroe Islands, Scotland with Silversea

Sailing roundtrip from Reykjavík on board Silversea's newest addition to its fleet, Silver Endeavor , this two-week-long cruise checks off a whopping 19 ports across three countries, including Iceland, Scotland, and the Faroe Islands. Being a more boutique expedition ship, Silver Endeavor is able to ferry passengers to small ports, including Iceland's outer islands, like Vigor Island, home to the Isafjardardjup Fjord and migratory Atlantic puffin colonies.

Silversea delivers a chic Italian-inspired vibe, evoking a luxurious custom-designed Milano home. The line offers two styles of all-inclusive luxury cruising , “Port-to-Port” and “Door-to-Door.” Port-to-Port includes all-suite accommodations, shore excursions, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, butler service for all suites, Wi-Fi, gratuities and meals in most dining venues. Dining includes 24-hour room service served course-by-course. Complimentary premium caviar is available anywhere, anytime. Under the Port-to-Port category for Silversea’s expedition ships, passengers also receive in-country economy airfare, pre or post-cruise hotel day use or overnight and some expedition gear.

All Door-to-Door cruises add a few extras to all the above inclusions. International economy airfare (or air credit) and airport-to-ship transfers, and roundtrip transfers between home and airport by private car service are among them.

Seabourn is known for luxe all-inclusive cruise dining perks, like unlimited caviar.

Northwest Africa with Seabourn

Although this sailing departs in 2024, we included it in our list for 2023, as it's sure to sell out quickly. In March 2024, Seabourn will take its expedition ship, Seabourn Venture, to the Northwest coast of Africa for a unique two-week cruise ending in Spain. Departing from Cape Verde, the sailing includes stops in Banjul, Gambia; Dakar, Senegal ; Casablanca and Tangier in Morocco; and Malaga, Spain, among others.

Seabourn Venture includes all-suite accommodations and all other Seabourn complimentary amenities other than The Grill. Most shore excursions are complimentary. A second expedition ship, Seabourn Pursuit, will debut in 2023 with similar all-inclusive features.

A luxury line with an elegant casual country club ambiance, Seabourn offers numerous high-end inclusions, such as all-suite accommodations, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, Wi-Fi, specialty dining, 24-hour in-suite dining (served course-by-course, if desired), high-end caviar service anywhere, anytime, and gratuities. On Seabourn’s ocean liners, passengers also receive one complimentary dinner at The Grill by Thomas Keller, a restaurant deftly duplicating the world-famous chef’s cuisine, prepared with his favorite high-end ingredients. In addition, many Keller-influenced plates appear on other dining venue menus, such as in the Colonnade. Seabourn features a Mindful Living Program in collaboration with Dr. Andrew Weil, and passengers can take complimentary classes with practitioners trained by the esteemed doctor in meditation and yoga, among the options.

Cruise line all-inclusive packages: Everything you need to know

Donna Heiderstadt

Editor's Note

Luxury lines aren't the only ones offering all-inclusive cruise packages these days. Mainstream and upscale cruise lines, which traditionally have offered a basic fare and then charged passengers a la carte for onboard expenses, have begun to offer more inclusive fare add-ons. Cruisers are buzzing about these new options, which allow them to pay upfront for popular amenities and not feel nickel-and-dimed on board.

This new pricing strategy, which goes beyond popular drinks packages , has large-ship cruise lines such as Celebrity, Holland America and Princess jockeying to compete with luxury lines and their all-inclusive fares. Small-ship cruise lines Azamara and Windstar have also hopped on the trend.

These packages are designed to make the cruise experience hassle-free by allowing passengers to pay for most of their onboard expenses — such as beverages, Wi-Fi and gratuities — before they board. However, they might not always be the best option for every cruiser.

Here's a look at which cruise lines offer all-inclusive packages, what's included, how much they cost and the factors that can make them a great deal or a potential waste of money.

Celebrity Cruises' All Included package

all inclusive cruises may 2023

The package

Celebrity Cruises — known for having a grown-up, bar-centric ambience on board its ships — offers an All Included cruise fare on any itinerary (excluding the Galapagos Islands). With this fare type, passengers get two included amenities: basic Wi-Fi and Celebrity's Classic beverage package.

The package used to include crew tips, but Celebrity removed that benefit in 2023.

What's the cost of the All Included package? That depends on the destination, itinerary length and time of year. Celebrity Cruises would not provide an average, but in all the fares we priced out, passengers could expect to pay $70 per person, per day, above the base cruise fare. However, it's possible the difference in pricing can be higher on certain cruises.

When browsing for cruises on Celebrity's website, the prices you will see are the Cruise Only fares (except when noted, mostly on Retreat and AquaClass categories). During the booking process (right after cabin selection), you can choose either the higher All Included fare or the lower-priced Cruise Only fare.

Tip: If you'd like to book a balcony cabin at the All Included price, always price out AquaClass and Concierge cabins, as well. Those room types, which offer extra amenities, sometimes cost just a few dollars more (or even less) at the cruise-only fare than a veranda cabin with the add-on package.

All passengers on the reservation must select the same fare. One person can't book All Included and the other Cruise Only. Families sailing in the same cabin must all book the same fare type, although underage passengers will only have access to nonalcoholic beverages.

The two amenities that come with an All Included booking are typically priced as follows:

  • Classic beverage package: $89 per person, per day, plus a 20% bar gratuity on every drink ordered
  • Basic Wi-Fi: $20 per person, per day

The Classic beverage package only includes drinks priced up to $10. Note that the All Included fare covers the bar gratuity normally charged to guests who purchase a beverage package independently.

Celebrity's Basic Wi-Fi plan is its value-priced option, which offers access to basic web functions: texting on messenger services, web browsing and email.

Let's crunch the numbers. Bought a la carte, Celebrity's Classic beverage package and basic Wi-Fi will cost $109 per person, per day; you will be on the hook for a 20% automatic bar gratuity on each drink ordered.

At $70 extra per person, per day, Celebrity's All Included fares are a good value for cruisers who plan to toss back multiple basic cocktails daily — there's no daily limit — and are content with basic Wi-Fi.

Passengers who book All Included fares can also opt to upgrade to the Premium beverage package (for drinks costing up to $17) for an additional $20 per person per day. This must be done within the Cruise Planner platform after final payment is made and up to two days prior to sailing.

Alternatively, they can pay the overage ($2 on a $12 glass of wine or cocktail, for instance) plus a 20% gratuity on the overage.

That puts the total cost of the All Included package at roughly $90 per person, per day, with the upgraded drinks package. Celebrity's Premium beverage package is regularly priced at $109 per person per day, plus there's an automatic 20% gratuity added to the package price (bringing the total daily cost to $130.80).

That means passengers already considering the Premium Beverage Package will definitely save by purchasing the All Included package.

Celebrity cruisers can also upgrade their package to Premium Wi-Fi — which allows messaging and video chat on messenger services, web browsing, email, social media posting, video chat live and watching videos and movies. The upgrade costs an additional $10 per person per day.

The difference between the All Included package cost with basic or premium Wi-Fi is the same as if you purchased a Wi-Fi plan a la carte.

Holland America's Have It All

all inclusive cruises may 2023

Passengers booking a cruise on any Holland America ship now have the option to get four premium amenities included with the Have It All package . The line's premium package makes a HAL cruise semi-inclusive when passengers upgrade their base fare.

Here's what's included:

  • The Signature beverage package, which includes wines, beers, spirits, cocktails and nonalcoholic options (such as sodas and specialty coffees) that cost $11 and under, as well as bar gratuities. There's a daily limit of 15 beverages per person.
  • Specialty dining, with one dinner at either Pinnacle Grill, Canaletto or Tamarind included on a six- to nine-night cruise; two dinners on a 12- to 20-night cruise; and three dinners on a cruise of 21 days or longer (excluding Grand Voyages).
  • Wi-Fi Surf package for web surfing, social media and email on one device.
  • Shore excursions credit of $100 per person on a six- to nine-night cruise, $200 on a 12- to 20-night cruise and $300 on a cruise that's 21 days or longer (excluding Grand Voyages).

Related: What's included in your cruise fare?

Right now, the Have It All package costs $50 per person, per day (reduced from $99 per day as of April 21, 2023). This price reduction is a temporary promotion, and an end date is not specified. When it does change, other perks may be added to the promotion.

Two passengers sharing a cabin must both select Have It All at the time of booking. Unlike most cruise all-inclusive packages, however, HAL's Have It All doesn't include crew gratuities. These will be added to passengers' onboard accounts at $16 per person, per day for guests in cabins and $17.50 per day for guests in suites.

Here is what all the elements of the Have It All package would cost if purchased separately for a seven-night cruise:

  • Shore excursion credit: $100 per person, per cruise
  • Specialty dining: $25-$40, based on restaurant selected
  • Wi-Fi: $105 (at $15 per day)
  • Signature beverage package: $384.65 (at $54.95 per person, per day)

Right now, the Have It All package costs $350 per person for a seven-night cruise, which is actually less than the $384.65 Holland America charges for its Signature beverage package for a cruise of this length. Plus, passengers get an extra $230 to $245 in shore excursion, specialty dining and Wi-Fi perks. So, at the $50 per person, per day rate, the Have It All Package is a terrific value, even for moderate drinkers.

However, when the price reverts to $99 per person, per day, or $693 per person for a seven-night cruise, the Signature beverage package ($384.65) and shore excursion, specialty dining and Wi-Fi perks ($245) only add up to $629.65. That's $63.95 less than Have It All pricing. Although, with Have It All, service charges of 18% per beverage (or $1.98 per $11 beverage) are included.

So, if you drink around 33 beverages costing $11 on a seven-night cruise (or about five a day) you can break even. And remember, you'll still need to pay daily crew gratuities.

According to Holland America, other/additional perks may become available with the Have It All package when the price changes.

Princess Plus and Princess Premier

all inclusive cruises may 2023

Princess Cruises continues to modify the amenities included in its Princess Plus package , which the cruise line says offers at least a 50% savings over a la carte costs (based on a seven-night cruise). Passengers can also book the Princess Premier package for additional included perks said to offer more than 65% savings.

Princess Plus is priced at $60 per person, per day. What's included?

  • Plus Beverage Package, which includes drinks up to $15 (with a 15-drink alcoholic beverage limit per day)
  • Wi-Fi for one device per guest ($15 per day if booked separately)
  • Crew appreciation, aka gratuities ($16 per person per day for stateroom guests or $18 per person per day for suite guests)
  • Two "premium desserts" per day (purchased at the Gelateria, Swirls or Coffee and Cones)
  • Two fitness classes per cruise
  • Unlimited juice bar drinks
  • Two "casual dining" meals per guest, per cruise (at casual sit-down restaurants, like Alfredo's and Kai Sushi, and pop-up venues, like Planks and Steamers)
  • Room service delivery at no extra charge
  • OceanNow delivery (ordering food and items on your app to wherever you are on board) at no extra charge

Princess Premier costs $80 per person, per day. It features the following perks:

  • Premier beverage package, which includes drinks up to $20 (with a 15-drink alcoholic beverage limit per day)
  • Wi-Fi for up to four devices per guest
  • Crew appreciation
  • Two specialty dining meals per guest
  • Photo package (unlimited digital plus three prints up to 8 inches by 10 inches in size)
  • Unlimited "premium desserts" (at Gelateria, Swirls or Coffee and Cones)
  • Unlimited fitness classes
  • Wearable Medallion accessory
  • Reserved theater seating for production shows
  • Unlimited casual dining
  • OceanNow delivery at no extra charge
  • Princess Prizes (a chance to win extras like a wine tasting, Chef's Table experience, onboard credit or even a free cruise)

For either plan, each beverage package also includes bar gratuities (18% per beverage when ordered without the Plus or Premier packages). Passengers under 21 will automatically receive the Zero Alcohol package, which includes fountain sodas, juice bar, fresh juices, bottled water, specialty coffees and teas, frappes, milkshakes and Red Bull energy drinks.

Both packages are capacity-controlled and, if sold out, may not be available for all cabin categories at the time of booking; if available, they can also be purchased on the first day of a cruise.

The first and second guests in a cabin must each book the same Plus or Premier package, but the third and fourth guests are not obligated to do so, meaning a family doesn't have to pay for amenities that kids won't use.

Wi-Fi, specialty dining and the photo package are shareable, so a family of four with two parents on the Princess Premier plan can have their children's devices on Wi-Fi, take home great family photos and enjoy one specialty dining experience with the entire family.

It might take a while to add up the cost of all the amenities, but you don't have to. For couples, the Princess Plus package is a no-brainer.

Wi-Fi and crew appreciation (totaling $31-$33 per person, per day) alone account for more than 50% of the $60 per person, per day (or $420 per person for a seven-night cruise) package charge. With less than $30 per day left to break even and with drinks up to $15 included, you don't have to overindulge to get your money's worth. Those premium desserts, casual meals, fitness classes and unlimited juice bar beverages are the icing on the cake.

For $80 per person, per day, or $540 per person for a seven-night cruise, Princess Premier offers additional savings — mostly if you already planned on purchasing a beverage package and think you'll use at least some of the other perks.

Related: Are cruise line drinks packages worth the price? What to know before you buy

The Premier Beverage Package costs $84.99 per person, per day, which is more than the price of the Princess Premier all-inclusive package. If you prefer premium wines and spirits and were planning on purchasing the upgraded drinks package, Princess Premier will more than pay for itself.

The two specialty dining meals are valued at $74 per person, per cruise, or more; this also gets you close to breaking even if you weren't going to purchase a beverage package. Wi-Fi for up to four devices normally costs $40 per day or $280 per seven-night cruise. Combine the two, and you're already ahead. Unlimited desserts, casual dining, fitness classes and juice bar drinks only add to your value.

The bottom line: At $80 per day, Princess Premier can be a good value — especially in comparison to other cruise-line all-inclusive packages costing the same or even more.

Azamara's Experience More

all inclusive cruises may 2023

While Azamara 's basic cruise fares already include crew gratuities and standard spirits, beers and select wines (a choice of two whites, two reds and a rose daily), the cruise line's Experience More packages bundle additional onboard amenities at savings of 27% to 32%.

There are four options priced per couple/cabin and one designed for solo travelers. All are available on cruises of eight days or longer, with the exception of one package specific to shorter sailings (seven days or fewer).

The least expensive option for two people sharing a cabin is the Experience More Essentials package. It includes a Premium Beverage Package for two (with additional beer and spirits selections), unlimited Wi-Fi for one device and a $300 shore excursion credit. It's priced at $699 per cabin.

The Experience More on Short Cruises package is the only one available on sailings of seven days or fewer. It includes the Ultimate Beverage Package for two, unlimited Wi-Fi for one device, a $200 shore excursion credit, a $100 onboard spa credit, Chef's Table (a multicourse tasting menu) or Three Table Tour (one night at Aqualina, one night at Prime C and one night at your choice of restaurant) and one bag of laundry per voyage. It's priced at $799 for two people in the same cabin.

Related: Why you should splurge on a cruise ship specialty restaurant

The Experience More Enjoyment package includes the Premium Beverage Package for two, unlimited Wi-Fi for two devices, a $500 shore excursion credit and a $200 onboard spa credit. It's priced at $1,099 for two people.

The most comprehensive option for two people is the Experience More Indulgence package. It includes the Ultimate Beverage Package for two, unlimited Wi-Fi for two devices, $700 shore excursion credit, $250 onboard spa credit, Chef's Table or Three Table Tour, and five bags of laundry during the voyage. It's priced at $1,599 for two people.

Singles can get in on the savings, too, with the Experience More for Solo Travelers package. It features the Ultimate Beverage Package for one, unlimited Wi-Fi for one device, a $350 shore excursions credit, a $150 onboard spa credit, Chef's Table or Three Table Tour, and three bags of laundry during the voyage. It's priced at $899 per person.

What's the difference between the Premium and Ultimate beverage packages in these offers? The Premium package includes a larger selection of beer than the included list, plus name-brand spirits such as Absolut, Captain Morgan and Bombay Sapphire. The Ultimate package includes all the Premium offerings plus a selection of wine and Champagne by the glass, Evian and Perrier water and more top-shelf spirits.

If bought separately, the Premium package costs $16.95 per person, per day, and the Ultimate package costs $23.95 per person, per day.

Azamara has done the math for passengers:

  • Experience More Essentials: priced at $699, valued at $958.50
  • Experience More on Short Cruises: priced at $799, valued at $1,103
  • Experience More Enjoyment: priced at $1,099, valued at $1,637
  • Experience More Indulgence: priced at $1,599, valued at $2,357
  • Experience More for Solo Travelers: priced at $899, valued at $1,224

If you already plan on booking shore excursions and specialty dining reservations, enjoying wine and spirits beyond those included in the cruise fare, using Wi-Fi and paying for amenities such as specialty dining or spa treatments, the all-inclusive upgrades offer good value.

However, if you don't plan to take advantage of all the extra-fee services on board, you'll need to do the math around the amenities you would use to determine whether a package is right for you.

Windstar Cruises' All-Inclusive Fare and All-In Package

all inclusive cruises may 2023

Windstar Cruises offers an All-Inclusive Fare option for a set daily fee. For Windstar, all-inclusive means unlimited beverages, unlimited Wi-Fi and all gratuities. Passengers can also still opt to book a base cruise-only fare and pay for onboard expenses on an a la carte basis.

Passengers who choose the All-Inclusive Fare prepay $89 per person, per day; the package must be booked within five days of the sail date. Those who book a cruise-only fare can also purchase the All-In Package for $99 per person, per day once they are on board.

Both the inclusive fares and onboard package cover unlimited Wi-Fi, crew gratuities and wine, beer and cocktails ordered on board (as well as the 18% beverage service charge usually tacked onto bar bills).

We took a look at the a la carte items included in the inclusive package to determine the value of Windstar's offering (based on a weeklong sailing).

  • Crew gratuities: $16 per person, per day
  • Beverage package: $65 (for Captain's Exclusive Beverage Package, which includes cocktails, aperitifs and more). These also incur an 18% service charge.
  • Unlimited Wi-Fi: $245 for a seven-night cruise ($35 per person, per day)

Wi-Fi and tips account for $51 of the $89 daily charge before factoring in bar charges. That leaves $38 for beverages. So, the value is there with the All-Inclusive Fare if you plan to enjoy at least three or four alcoholic beverages daily throughout your cruise — and you'll avoid the added service charges.

However, guests who only indulge in the occasional glass of wine or cocktail will not see the full value of the package. Similarly, passengers who prefer to buy one of Windstar's cheaper, more limited usage Wi-Fi plans (200 megabytes or 500 megabytes of data) or intend to share the cost of the Unlimited Wi-Fi plan by logging in one device at a time, might find the $89 or $99 daily charge is not worth it.

Bottom line

Should you upgrade to one of these packages? While convenience is certainly a motivating factor, whether a plan has value depends in most cases on what you think your bar tab will be.

If vacation mode means you'll be tossing back tropical cocktails at the pool all day or enjoying multiple glasses of wine at both lunch and dinner, booking an all-inclusive package is a smart option. If you're not a big drinker or enthusiastic social media user, the better deal is sometimes to stick with the basic fare and pay as you go for what you use.

The 16 Best Cruises to Book in 2023, According to T+L's Expert

Travel + Leisure hand-selected 16 different types of on-the-water adventures to consider in the year ahead.

Paul Brady is the news director at Travel + Leisure and the brand's expert on cruise travel. He has been covering the travel industry for more than 15 years for outlets including Condé Nast Traveler , Skift , and The Huffington Post .

Cruising is in the midst of an epic comeback . Travelers are turning to trusted lines to help minimize the hassles of country hopping and maximize relaxation time in each destination. With 2023 poised to be a big year for both new and frequent cruisers — thanks in part to an abundance of new ships and itineraries — Travel + Leisure has hand-selected 16 different types of adventures to consider in the year ahead.

The Nile on Viking Osiris

Alastair Miller/Courtesy of Viking

Viking Osiris is the line’s newest on the Nile, with just 41 suites and staterooms, a pool deck, and cool Scandinavian design. The ship sails between Aswan and Luxor, with pre- and post-sail touring in Cairo included with the 12-day itineraries.

Alaska on Ocean Victory

The Alaska trips on Ocean Victory , a fuel-efficient, 93-cabin ship from American Queen Voyages, come with the opportunity to kayak past glaciers and spot bald eagles and grizzlies. The vessel, which first debuted in 2021, represents an evolution in ship design for American Queen, with its cutting-edge X-Bow design (which helps reduce fuel burn) and chic suites, including many with private verandas.

The Galápagos Islands on Quasar Expeditions’ Evolution

In June, Quasar Expeditions is offering a Galápagos cruise on the 32-passenger Evolution for children with autism spectrum disorder, hosted by an expert in supporting families with special needs. The trip, which departs June 24, is a seven-night expedition that takes in many of the most notable sites on the islands, with programming specially tailored for both kids and adults.

Cruising Antarctica on Silver Cloud or Silver Endeavour

Adrian Wolodarczyk/Courtesy of Silversea

Silversea gives Antarctica travelers the option to skip two days of sailing the often-rocky Drake Passage. Instead, they can fly in comfort over the waters separating South America from the continent, then hop aboard the 127-suite Silver Cloud and 100-suite Silver Endeavour for trips along the frosty coastline.

The Caribbean, South Pacific, and Australia With Windstar Cruises

Windstar has a series of 2023 itineraries on the 156-cabin Star Pride and 171-suite Wind Surf that hit yachty Caribbean ports like Jost Van Dyke, in the British Virgin Islands, and Anguilla. The small-ship line, which is known for both its sleek “Star Plus Class” ships and its classic vessels with their dramatic sails, also has an array of itineraries along the coast of Australia and in the South Pacific.

Cold-weather Cruises on Le Commandant Charcot

A game changer in lowering emissions, Ponant’s brand-new hybrid-electric Le Commandant Charcot can operate on less-carbon-intensive battery power and liquefied natural gas and has room for 245 guests. The game-changing ship, which has already hosted eclipse watchers on a trip to Antarctica and sailed to the geographic North Pole, also offers adventures in places such as Iceland and Svalbard.

Cruises Closer to Home With American Queen Voyages

Michel Verdure/Courtesy of American Queen Voyages

American Queen Voyages will offer the longest trips in the line’s history in 2023, with two 23-day river itineraries on the Mississippi and Ohio aboard the 123-stateroom American Countess . “The ship will sail more than 1,700 miles from Minnesota down the Ohio River and Upper Mississippi River , calling on more ports and offering more guided tours than ever before,” as T+L reported in August .

The South Pacific on Paul Gauguin

Just refurbished, the 165-cabin Paul Gauguin will be exploring the Pacific in 2023, with trips to the Cook Islands, Fiji, the Marquesas, and the Society Islands. The single-vessel brand was voted the very best small-ship cruise line in the World’s Best Awards 2022 , as T+L readers gave particularly high marks to the Paul Gauguin ’s on-board staff.

Mystery Cruising With Uniworld

Courtesy of Uniworld

Next year, Uniworld Boutique River Cruises will offer two nine-night “mystery cruises ,” with the European destinations revealed only as guests depart: similar trips in 2022 sold out. Travelers on the June 2023 trip will meet in Amsterdam, while the July 2023 sailing rendezvous in Nice, France — from there, the itinerary is anybody’s guess.

Expedition Cruising With Seabourn

Courtesy of Seabourn

Seabourn Venture , the luxury line’s first 132-suite expedition ship, launched in late summer with itineraries in northern Europe; trips in Japan, the South Pacific, and Antarctica are on tap for 2023. Seabourn Pursuit , which will be a sibling ship to Venture, is scheduled to arrive in 2023, the second in Seabourn’s growing expedition fleet.

Seeing Europe’s Gems by Small Ship

Slated to launch in the spring, the 228-passenger Scenic Eclipse II will visit ports from Dublin to Lisbon, as well as both polar regions, in 2023 and 2024. The innovative vessel, which is similar in design to Scenic Eclipse , will have luxurious suites complete with butler service and all sorts of extras, including helicopters (plural) and a submarine.

Visiting Wild Places With Fewer Impacts

Aurora Expeditions, whose newest vessel is the 71-cabin Sylvia Earle , guarantees that all operations are carbon neutral, pledging to offset all emissions. The newly launched ship, with its fuel-saving X-Bow design, doesn’t skimp on expedition necessities: guests on Antarctica expeditions can explore by Zodiac or snowshoe and even, when conditions allow, go scuba diving in polar waters or camping on the ice.

Solo Cruising With a New Line

Upstart cruise line Atlas Ocean Voyages offers all-inclusive fares on its two 98-suite vessels, and, in a departure from industry norms, the brand doesn’t charge solo travelers a single supplement. The line’s second ship, World Traveller , launched in November 2022 . It will sail nine-, 10-, 11-, and 12-night round-trips from Ushuaia, Argentina, to Antarctica through March 2023 before heading to the Mediterranean to hit Spain, France, and Portugal.

The Galápagos Islands on Celebrity Flora

Michel Verdure/Courtesy of Celebrity Cruises

Another ship that sails the Galápagos, the Celebrity Flora , has 50 suites, many with large verandas, plus a stargazing deck and a fleet of comfortable tenders. Two itineraries are available, the first of which is a seven-night “northern loop” that visits the volcanic island of Santiago and has guests spotting red-footed Boobies on Genovesa Island, a place sometimes called Bird Island thanks to its famed animals. The line’s “outer loop” also includes plenty of wildlife watching, plus a stop at the less-frequented Daphne Island.

Doing Wine Country on Seadream II

SeaDream Yacht Club has two Wine Voyages in 2023, which include vineyard visits in Greece, Italy, and Spain and a winemaker-hosted dinner on the 112-guest Seadream II . The highly regarded intimate-ship line wins frequent accolades from T+L readers for its on-board service and well-appointed vessels.

What you may not realize when you book a standard cruise is that often, there are a lot of things that aren’t included in the cruise fare. On many cruises, a hard-to-beat deal might entice you, but once on board you might get barraged with temptations that can add significantly to your vacation cost. You could have to pay extra for things like sodas, espresso drinks, cocktails, wine, fitness classes, spa treatments, specialty dining, shore excursions, gratuities, and Wi-Fi.

But that’s not the case on all-inclusive cruises, which are typically a more luxurious offering. When you book an all-inclusive cruise, you pay for almost everything upfront. The initial tab may be higher, but you avoid that feeling of being constantly nickeled and dimed. In that way, you’re freer to indulge. Here, we round up some of our favorite all-inclusive cruises where you needn’t worry about many, if any, extras. Lines mentioned below include gratuities and Wi-Fi except where noted. There is an extra charge for spa treatments and shore excursions on the cruises below, unless noted otherwise.

Azamara Cruises

Best for unique shore experiences

AzAmazing Evenings are included shoreside events, such as this traditional Korean fan dance performance in Busan, South Korea.

The four small ships of Azamara Cruises carry a maximum of 704 guests each and operate like friendly, floating boutique hotels. Guests enjoy an open bar serving standard spirits, wines, international beers, bottled water, and soft drinks, though Internet service costs extra. Special golf cruises in conjunction with golf vacation provider PerryGolf come with escorted play at prestigious courses around the world, including Ireland’s Royal Portrush.

Best inclusion: AzAmazing Evenings are extraordinary shoreside events with all guests invited—such as watching dancers, gymnasts, and aerialists of the French troupe Les Farfadais in a private performance at the waterfront Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Best over-the-top, all-inclusive cruise

On Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ fancy 490- to 750-passenger ships, nearly everything is covered by your cruise fare, from your in-suite minibar to business-class international airfare and shore excursions. Guests stay in roomy suites, sip premium wine and spirits, and enjoy fine dining at complimentary specialty restaurants, all amid extravagant decor—parts of the Seven Seas Explorer , for example, are done up with Carrara marble and gold leaf. Also covered is a precruise night at a luxury hotel at your embarkation port. If you want to show off, you can pay extra for a $1,000 bottle of wine, but you won’t necessarily feel the need.

Best inclusion: Regent’s shore excursions go well beyond the norm. You might do an open-air mud bath experience in Cartagena, Spain, or a marine science, history, and food tour with tastings of local craft beer and salmon in Sitka, Alaska.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection

Best for socializing

On the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s sleek 298-passenger super-yacht Evrima , exploring the Caribbean and Mediterranean, complimentary Moet & Chandon champagne flows to the backdrop of a friendly and relaxed resort-like atmosphere. Many passengers are on board to celebrate the good life, Ritz-Carlton style. Four excellent restaurants are complimentary, and while there’s an extra charge for top wines and booze, and for a tasting menu by a Michelin three-star chef and the supervised Ritz Kids program, much else is covered in the fare—even cigars from the humidor.

Best inclusion: You can use Marriott Bonvoy points for discounts or to pay for your cruise and you can collect points when you book the Evrima , too.

Best for polar expeditions

With its 228-passenger, polar-class expedition yachts, Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II (the latter debuting in spring 2023), Australian brand Scenic combines soft adventure and luxury in adventure-rich destinations such as Antarctica and the Arctic. Every suite has an assigned butler, and the ships feature an eye-popping 10 dining experiences. Complimentary beverages include selections from an over-the-top whiskey bar with more than 100 bottles. Also included are Wi-Fi, e-bikes and kayaks to borrow, and shore excursions. You will pay extra for rides in the ships’ helicopters and submarines, though.

Best inclusion: At the Senses Spa, meditation sessions, Pilates and yoga classes, and the tranquil thermal spa with soothing aromatherapy showers and heated loungers are all complimentary.

Best for couples

Seabourn’s 458- and 600-passenger ships are like the sexy private yachts of the rich and famous, only better because you get to dine on cuisine by chef Thomas Keller (of French Laundry and Per Se fame). The complimentary wine list is impressive, and premium spirits and good champagne flow freely, too. All culinary experiences are included—even artisanal gelato made fresh on board. Internet access is extra (unless you’re in premium accommodations). The line’s luxurious, 264-passenger, polar-class expedition ships skip the Keller cuisine, but add soft adventure experiences such as Zodiac exploration in Antarctica—plus the pay-extra feature of undersea exploration via six-passenger submarines.

Best inclusion: Whenever you want and wherever you happen to be (even at the pool), order complimentary Regiis Ova caviar.

After exploring destinations such as St. Bart’s , St. Tropez, and Capri, you can spend your nights dancing barefoot around the pool on SeaDream Yacht Club’s elegantly carefree 112-passenger SeaDream I and SeaDream II . A crew of 95 is available to pamper you with excellent cocktails, wine, and creative meals; except for a splurge-worthy Thai massage and shore excursions, there’s not much reason to add any expenses to your credit card. Among the complimentary treats is the romantic overnight option of sleeping on a Balinese daybed on deck.

Best inclusion: Head onto the water with small sailing catamarans or Jet Skis that are offered from the vessels’ drop-down marina.

You spend your days hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, or on guided shore tours, and nights socializing with craft cocktails or microbrews before heading to dinner where sustainable fish dishes are accompanied by Pacific Northwest wines and extravagant desserts from the baker on board. The only extra charges are gratuities (10 percent of your fare is the recommended amount). The Galápagos ship is the sole one with Internet access, and it’s free.

Best inclusion: Great signature Bloody Marys with all the trimmings.

Viking Ocean (the sister line to Viking River Cruises) translated the standard river cruise concept to the high seas, including that there are few extra charges beyond your cruise fare. On the line’s nearly identical, 930-passenger ocean ships, guests explore exceptionally well-designed spaces decked out in streamlined Scandinavian furnishings. Among the inclusions are specialty dining venues, wine and beer with lunch and dinner (drink packages are for sale if you want more), a shore excursion at every port, fitness classes, and unlimited Wi-Fi. Gratuities are extra.

Best inclusion: The ships’ Nordic spa, hydrotherapy pool, steam room, and invigorating snow room are open to all on a complimentary basis.

Best All-Inclusive Cruises for 2024-2025: Top 7 Cruise Lines

J. Souza

Once you go all-inclusive it’s hard to go back.  Here are 7 of the best all-inclusive cruises for 2024 and 2025 for those who don’t want to be “nickel-and-dimed”.

The world of all-inclusive cruises could be just what you need if you’re tired of those pesky incidental charges adding up. We’re going to look at the very best options for cruises that offer almost everything at one up-front cost.

Viking Ocean cruise ship as an all-inclusive cruise line

The listed price of a cruise on a mainstream line can be a little deceiving. It can also feel like a deal too good to be true. That’s because sometimes it is. Once you add in all the additional charges for specialty dining, beverages, WiFi, gratuity, and shore excursions you begin to see the real cost of a cruise that’s not so inclusive.

While an all-inclusive cruise may cost more, it’s certainly worth it for those who are tired of getting out their cruise card every time they get thirsty.

Without a doubt, if you want a worry-free cruise getaway, all-inclusive is the way to go. There’s something mentally relaxing about knowing the all-in price up front. And not having to continuously worry about how much each drink, excursion, or activity costs is a perk in itself.

In this article we are going to look at all-inclusive cruises and what we think are the best cruise lines to include all those coveted amenities in the cruise fare.

Note: Some of the more mainstream lines have begun offering packages to make voyages more all-inclusive as well. Cruise lines like Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises , and Holland America Line have packages that can be added to your cruise to avoid the “nickel-and-diming” experience.

Best All-Inclusive Cruise Lines

Regent seven seas cruises.

all inclusive cruises may 2023

This is the cruise line that even calls itself “ the only truly all-inclusive luxury cruise line “.

For those who can afford it, a stellar quality of service and inclusions await. Regent has one of the best guest-to-crew ratios at sea, boasting an average of 1:1.5 on most cruises.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises also offers some of the most luxurious accommodations at sea, with spacious suites that come equipped with fine linens, marble bathrooms, and private balconies. You’ll feel like you’re staying in a five-star hotel, and you’ll always have an epic ocean view.

Even the smallest suite on The Seven Seas Explorer offers 370 sq. feet of space. The largest suite on this ship is the Regent Suite with an astounding 4,000+ sq. feet to enjoy.

Every accommodation onboard these ships is a suite and 98% of them have a private balcony. While each stateroom has a personal attendant, butler service is reserved for the penthouse guests onboard.

The fleet of Regent Seven Seas ships are classified as medium-sized but the company emphasizes that they have a small ship mentality. Of the soon to be six ships in the fleet none of them carry over 750 passengers , making a 55,000 gross ton vessel feel even more roomy.

The smallest cruise ship with Regent has a capacity of only 490 passengers for those who want an even more intimate experience on a smaller vessel.

There is an understated opulence in the decor of these ships, with Picasso paintings, Italian marble, and crystal chandeliers to welcome passengers.

And with over 500 ports of call the cruise line visits, Regent can take you anywhere in the world, all while only having to unpack once.

What’s included in a Regent Seven Seas Cruise?

  • Multiple specialty dining venues including dining in your suite
  • Beverages including premium drinks
  • Laundry services. You can let the crew do your laundry for you or there is a self-service station, all complimentary.
  • Pre-paid gratuities
  • Free Wi-Fi internet
  • Onboard enrichment that includes classes and activities (arobics, yoga, spinning classes)
  • Unlimited shore excursions . You can do more than one in a day if you have the energy for it.
  • Almost every Regent cruise includes airfare and for intercontinental cruises business class is typically included as well.
  • Most suite categories will include a night at a highly-rated pre-cruise hotel.
  • Transfers to and from the ship are included.
  • Steam room and sauna in locker rooms

There are some extras you can add on to your bill if you’d like. Spa services such as massages, facials, and pedicures will incur an extra expense. Some cooking classes in the state-of-the-art culinary center will cost extra as well.

Scenic Luxury Cruises

Scenic Eclipse all inclusive luxury yacht

Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours is a privately owned company that has been around since 1986. The company, known mostly for their river cruises, with over 15 river cruise ships in service, has recently moved into the ocean cruise space with their signature yachts.

The first ocean ship, Scenic Eclipse was launched in 2018 with Scenice Eclipse II being launched in 2023.

Both of these sister ocean vessels have a gross tonnage of 17,545, have 200 crew, can carry 228 guests and are 544 feet long.

The small, intimate yachts are designed according to Polar Code Rules but have various sailing itineraries in other exotic parts of the world as well.

Sailings include embarkation ports in New Zealand, Argentina, Iceland, Japan, Portugal and other places and sail anywhere from the Caribbean to Europe, with an emphasis on polar regions like Antarctica.

There is a helicopter on the ship –actually there are two of them for redundancy– that is used for shore excursions as well and holds 6 passengers.  This does come at an additional cost.

What’s included in a Scenic cruise?

  • Complimentary signature shore excursions
  • Unlimited top-shelf drinks and beverages
  • Private butler for every cabin
  • Free usage of e-bikes
  • All on-board gratuities are included
  • All transfers to and from the ship
  • Speciality dining

Viking Sky on Norwegian cruise

What if all that opulence and fancy luxury isn’t for you, but you still want an all-inclusive cruise and the chance to learn something about the world along the way? Whether it’s a river cruise or ocean cruise, Viking could fit the bill, all while allowing you to leave your cruise card in your pocket for just about everything. In this section we’ll focus more on Viking Ocean cruises, but the line also has river and expedition ships as well.

By the strictest standards Viking isn’t an all-inclusive cruise line, but since what they do include is so exhaustive it had to make the list.

Viking is fairly new to the ocean side of cruising. Having operated river cruises across Europe for decades, the company has successfully taken the ocean cruise industry by storm. For the last 7 years Viking has won the prestigious Travel + Leisure award for #1 cruise line in both river and ocean categories.

What’s unique about Viking?

There is a refined simplicity about how Viking operates their cruises. Every single ocean ship in the fleet is identical. Each ship has 465 cabins and has the same layout, number of decks, restaurants, etc. This means going back on a Viking cruise kind of feels like going back home, as there is an instant familiarity. The line is Norwegian-owned and their ships have a decidedly Scandinavian design to them.

Only passengers 18 and older can sail on a Viking ship, so this is definitely a cruise line for adults only. The heated pools both on the main pool deck and in the aft section of the ship never feel crowded, and the covering over the main pool area means you can take a swim no matter the weather outside.

There is a real focus on destinations and enrichment on a Viking cruise. While you won’t find a casino onboard you will find many insightful talks about ports of call and historical significance. Besides Broadway style shows in the main theater there are interesting lectures given by experts in their field. This is, after all, “the thinking person’s cruise”.

If you’re all about rest and relaxation you will also find what I think is probably the best thermal suite at sea, all included in your fare. A large thermal pool, dry sauna, steam room, and even a snow room can help ease a tired body after a long day of excursions.

Speaking of excursions, Viking gives you a free excursion at just about every single port of call. If you’d like to pay extra for a non-included excursion you can do that as well though. Since a majority of passengers do at least the free shore excursion it’s always fun when back on the ship to recount how the day went with fellow passengers.

There are two specialty dining venues onboard their ocean cruise ships: The Chef’s Table and my personal favorite Manfredi’s . You will need a reservation for each but they are complimentary. I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed the quality of food on every Viking cruise I’ve been on.

What’s included in a Viking Ocean cruise?

  • Specialty coffee and tea
  • In-suite mini bar, replenished every day
  • Daily afternoon tea at Wintergarden
  • 1 included shore excursion at most ports
  • Use of spa facilities and thermal suite
  • Self-service laundry facilities
  • Transfer bus services
  • Airport transfers when airfare is purchased through My Viking Air

Some of the items not included in the fare price will be premium drinks outside of meal times, spa services, and gratuities. You can purchase an airfare package along with your cruise at discount but airfare is not automatically included in the price of your cruise.

Silversea Cruises

all inclusive cruises may 2023

For explorers wanting to sail on a cruise to the far reaches of the earth while dining on the finest cuisine, Silversea Cruises is more than qualified for the task.

The smaller 28,000 and 40,000 gross ton ships that have fewer than 600 guests allow for travel to remote and exotic locations all over the world. Along with their 5 expedition ships, Silversea sails to over 900 destinations . This includes Antarctica, Greenland, Africa and the Indian Ocean, the Mediterranean, the Galapagos Islands, the South Pacific, and almost anywhere you can imagine.

Every guestroom on a Silversea cruise ship is a suite and 90% of them have private verandas. The bathrooms have marble countertops and the sheets and linens are of the finest quality. This is the only cruise line that offers butler service in every suite and category, and these butlers are all professionally trained to make your cruise as perfect as can be.

Onboard there are various amenities such as fitness centers, spas, pools, casinos, theaters and more.  And once your appetite has been worked up there are many dining venues available.  Almost every restaurant is included in the cruise fare and instead of having one large dining room you can dine at a different style specialty restaurant each night.

What’s included in a Silversea cruise?

Silversea Cruises takes a different approach to all-inclusive cruises. They allow you to select from two different packages so you decide what you want included and what you can do without. The ultra luxury cruise line owned by Royal Caribbean Group offers two programs called Door-to-Door all-inclusive and Port-to-Port all-inclusive, so let’s take a look at what is offered in each.

Door-to-Door

  • Private executive transfers
  • International flights
  • Airport Transfers
  • All food and beverages
  • Butler service
  • Shore excursions
  • Expedition in-country air and hotel

Port-to-Port

Gratuities are also included in the cruise fare so that’s one less thing to worry about while on your vacation. The complimentary drinks are also extended to the minibar in each suite and you can tell your butler which types of beverages you prefer. Even 24-hour room service is available at no extra charge.

Passengers are able to book one shore excursion at each port free of charge, and there are many additional excursions you can pay extra for if you would like.

Seabourn Cruise Line

all inclusive cruises may 2023

Known for its personalized service, each passenger on Seabourn Cruise Line is treated like royalty on board. From spacious suites to intimate social areas, the ships are designed to give you a sense of privacy and allow you to fully relax and unwind.

But the luxury doesn’t stop there. Seabourn Cruise Line offers a wide range of top-notch amenities, including award-winning cuisine, spas, fitness centers, bars and lounges, swimming pools, and live entertainment. And in select ports of call, Seabourn even offers complimentary shore excursions so you can fully immerse yourself in the culture and history of your destination. With Seabourn, you’ll feel like a VIP every step of the way.

You’ll have access to a variety of dining options, including The Restaurant for main dining, The Colonnade for informal dining, and The Grill with Thomas Keller (where you can enjoy a meal once during your cruise). Plus, there’s even a Sushi restaurant on board.

Of course, there are a few exceptions to this all-inclusive policy. Access to The Retreat, a luxurious area complete with cabanas, loungers, a hot tub, and a massage area, comes at an additional cost. And while Wi-Fi is complementary you will want to upgrade to the stream package if you want to do anything other than check your email and browse.

Seabourn boasts one of the most modern fleets in the luxury cruise category and offers intimate ships that have a private club atmosphere.

Each suite includes a Personal Suite Host and Attendant to help with anything passengers need. Each suite also has a walk-in closet, marble bathrooms with double vanities, and a dining table for some in-suite dining.

Built to explore, these smaller ships sail to all seven continents and will often visit hidden harbors that larger ships could never access.

For the more adventurous passengers all Seabourn ships have an aft water sports marina that guests can take advantage of when the ship is anchored. From here activities like kayaking, long boarding, and even wind-surfing can be enjoyed.

What’s included in a Seabourn cruise?

  • Free Wi-Fi Internet for browsing (for streaming there is an extra charge but Penthouse and Premium suite guests will receive this for free)
  • All beverages (except some premium alcoholic drinks)
  • All dining (including caviar)
  • Fitness classes
  • Self-service laundry
  • In-suite movies
  • 24-hour room service
  • Access to water sports marina

Shore excursions are not included in the price and can be paid for separately online before your cruise.

Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection

all inclusive cruises may 2023

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is a new venture that brings the luxury and refinement of Ritz-Carlton hotels to the open seas. Currently, there is only one ship in the fleet, with the next two set to join in 2024 and 2025. The current super-yacht offers 148 suites, some of which are over 1,000 square feet in size, and has a crew of 246 to serve the 298 passengers on board. This results in an excellent crew-to-passenger ratio.

Included in the fare are a personal concierge, gratuities, 24-hour in-suite dining, all beverages, entertainment, Wi-Fi, and water sports activities when the yacht is anchored.

Voyages are available for 7-10 nights and travel to destinations such as the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Canada, and the Caribbean. There are even a few “crossing” voyages that take passengers on a 12 or 13 night journey across the Atlantic.

Expect authentic, one-of-a-kind experiences that can’t be found anywhere else. This is no ordinary cruise ship – it’s a superyacht, complete with dedicated personal assistants in every suite and a Concierge Ashore program that can tailor private tours to your exact preferences.

What’s included on a Ritz Carlton yacht?

  • A dedicated personal concierge
  • All dining venues onboard except one
  • Wi-Fi internet
  • Water sports activities on the aft marina

There are a few additional fees for certain services. For example, the S.E.A. restaurant offers a seven-course menu that is paired with wine, but it comes with a $285 cover charge. The Ritz Kids Club costs $45 per child for a three-hour stay. WiFi is included in the price of your stay, but you can upgrade to a faster speed for an additional fee of $38 per day.

While there is no casino or large theater with musicals showing every night, there is live music played on some of the open decks through the voyage.

The 12 Best All-Inclusive Cruises for 2023 and 2024

U.S. News & World Report

May 18, 2023, 8:00 PM

  • Share This:

All-inclusive cruises are available on luxury cruise lines like Regent Seven Seas and Silversea. The fares cover most everything, such as door-to-door transfers, luxurious suite accommodations, specialty dining, premium alcoholic beverages, excursions and more. While the cruise cost is higher, guests will also enjoy a long list of exclusive amenities from personal butlers and 24-hour room service to complimentary shore excursions and free Wi-Fi — plus, you won’t need to show your cruise card every time you order a latte or a pre-dinner glass of wine. You’ll also disembark the ship with very few, if any, additional charges on your final bill.

Several upscale cruise lines, like Viking, have fares with more-inclusive pricing, which feature some of the amenities found on board the fully inclusive lines. However, you’ll still have to budget for a few expenses, such as immersive excursions and alcoholic beverages beyond wine or beer at lunch and dinner. Other cruise lines like Oceania, Windstar and Norwegian offer add-on cruise packages or special fares where you can select a mostly all-inclusive experience. When most of the extra costs are covered before you set sail, you can relax and enjoy your cruise — without worrying about being nickeled and dimed the whole time you’re on board the ship.

These 12 cruise lines compiled by U.S. News offer fully inclusive voyages on small luxury ships, mostly inclusive experiences on boutique or yacht-style vessels, or add-on cruise packages with plenty of bells and whistles. After comparing the costs between a truly all-inclusive cruise and a sailing with package pricing for the extras, the total price may be closer than you think. Ultimately, the decision on which cruise you decide to book may not be as much about price as the overall experience.

All-Inclusive Cruises

Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Regent Seven Seas touts its six ships — with the newest vessel, Seven Seas Grandeur, set to debut in November 2023 — as “the world’s most luxurious fleet.” The line’s intimate ships accommodate up to 750 guests. They feature all ocean-view suites, prestigious museum-quality art collections (including a prized Fabergé egg on the new Grandeur), and itineraries that call on more than 500 destinations around the world.

With Regent’s “every luxury included” philosophy and 2-for-1 all-inclusive fares, passengers receive round-trip airfare and transfers between the airport and ship, as well as unlimited shore excursions, two- or three-night land programs (based on the itinerary), and a complimentary pre-cruise hotel package for concierge suites and higher. On the ship, enjoy a fully stocked in-suite minibar; specialty dining; unlimited fine wines, spirits and other beverages; prepaid gratuities; unlimited Wi-Fi; and free valet laundry service.

On top of personalized service, guests sailing on Regent Seven Seas cruises will enjoy immersive exploration ashore — with overnights in some ports of call — and enrichment programs. Top-notch dining includes French cuisine at Chartreuse (on select ships), Pan-Asian fare at Pacific Rim (also on select ships) and Italian fare at Sette Mari at La Veranda.

Cooking classes in the Culinary Arts Kitchen (available on Grandeur, Splendor and Explorer ), some tours and bespoke excursions, spa treatments, unique offerings, and certain wines and top-shelf liquors come with an additional cost.

Silversea Cruises

Sailing on board one of Silversea’s 13 ultra-luxury cruise or expedition ships commences with the line’s new chauffeur experience. This door-to-door service transports guests from home to the airport and back home on the return trip. The line’s all-inclusive pricing also encompasses international or domestic flights (with business class upgrades in certain destinations), pre- and post-cruise hotel accommodations, butler service in every suite, all gratuities, gourmet dining, and complimentary alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, including Champagne.

Guests will also enjoy a staff-to-guest ratio of nearly 1-to-1 — and with no more than 728 guests. The newest ship, Silver Nova, is set to debut in summer 2023. Other all-inclusive perks include at least one shore excursion in each port plus onboard lectures and programming. On expedition sailings in destinations like Antarctica, all guided Zodiac tours and landings are included in the fare.

When it comes to dining on Silversea ships, gourmet options feature French, Asian and Italian cuisine along with other international fare. For a special evening, S.A.L.T. Kitchen is a new destination-focused concept on Silver Ray, Nova, Moon and Dawn . This immersive dining experience, Sea And Land Taste, was developed in partnership with the former editor-in-chief of “Saveur Magazine,” Adam Sachs. The culinary offerings with S.A.L.T. also include shore excursions, where guests can tour a 500-year-old family winery and vineyard in Croatia, visit an organic farm in Denmark, or learn to make gelato in Sicily.

Expenses not covered in Silversea’s fare include salon and spa services, personal training sessions, select excursions, upgraded internet packages, and special bottles of wine or liquors.

Seabourn Cruise Line

Seabourn’s seven purpose-built expedition vessels and intimate luxury cruise ships accommodate between 264 and 600 guests. The club-like atmosphere on board its ships comes with highly intuitive and personalized service with about a 1-to-1 staff-to-guest ratio. Each suite also has a dedicated personal suite host and a suite attendant that will cater to your every whim.

All-inclusive fares include oceanfront suites with walk-in closets, living areas and luxurious bathrooms. All Seabourn Encore and Ovation accommodations feature private verandas, while 90% of the suites on Seabourn Odyssey , Sojourn and Quest have balconies. Premium and penthouse suites offer additional amenities and perks.

While aboard Seabourn Cruise Line , guests will enjoy complimentary fine wines and premium spirits, welcome Champagne, and a fully stocked in-suite bar with your personalized selections. Dining is a real treat, with several venues in partnership with renowned chef Thomas Keller, such as the line’s signature restaurant, The Grill by Thomas Keller. Seabourn is also a member of the prestigious Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, an international association of gastronomy.

Other complimentary amenities on Seabourn’s cruise ships include special evenings with dinner and live entertainment; a marina and complimentary water sports; “Caviar in the Surf” on select voyages; movie nights; a chance to shop with the chef at local markets; personal valet luggage shipping service; enrichment lectures; and more.

Additional expenses include a wide selection of epicurean, mindfulness and wellness excursions as well as cultural and historical bespoke tours. You can also book the ultimate underwater adventure on one of the line’s high-tech submarines on the two expedition vessels, Seabourn Venture and Pursuit. Programs and treatments at Seabourn’s Spa & Wellness are also at an additional cost.

Atlas Ocean Voyages

Atlas Ocean Voyages features “always included” cruise fares on its two purpose-built yachts, World Navigator and World Traveller. The line will welcome a third ship to its fleet for the 2023-24 Antarctica season, World Voyager. Atlas’ high-end boutique ships cater to just 198 passengers and feature spacious staterooms and suites with panoramic windows or private balconies and beautiful public spaces and lounges. These small ships also have several options for dining, depending on the sailing and destination.

The all-inclusive fares cover complimentary dining; unlimited wines, craft beers and spirits; 24-hour bar service with canapes; a free in-room minibar; afternoon high tea; fresh-pressed juices and specialty teas and coffees; butler service; 24-hour room service; prepaid gratuities; cultural immersion in every port; and other perks.

Polar expedition fares cover private charter jet service, group transfers from the airport to the yacht, an Atlas Ocean Voyages parka and vest to take home, Zodiac sightseeing safaris, expert guided shore landings, and destination lectures and briefings.

If you’re on one of the line’s Epicurean Expeditions, the cultural immersion program offers complimentary special tastings, market visits and cooking demonstrations. In addition to use of the marina’s water toys (on select sailings, weather permitting), guests can enjoy an authentic Portuguese dinner and an alfresco Josper Grill dining experience at 7-AFT Grill. On select voyages, culinary presentations, wine tastings and other special events are hosted by an expert.

More-Inclusive Cruises

Cruise fares with these lines include many of the amenities and perks that you’ll find with the all-inclusive cruises. However, you’ll still need to budget for some expenses, such as alcoholic beverages, excursions and specialty dining, depending on the line.

Viking’s ocean fleet of nine 930-passenger all-veranda ships offers a nearly all-inclusive experience for guests. The upscale Scandinavian-inspired ships feature king-bed staterooms and suites with many amenities, including luxurious linens and plush robes, 24-hour room service and free Wi-Fi — plus an in-room minibar with soft drinks, water and snacks.

Azamara’s four upscale boutique ships carry a maximum of 702 guests and offer immersive experiences around the world, calling on many smaller, lesser-known ports. The line also boasts more than 380 overnights and 850 late nights in port, so guests can have dinner in town and experience more of the destination’s local culture and cuisine.

Azamara’s cruise fares include all meals (other than the specialty dining restaurants) with water, tea and coffee. A selection of complimentary wine, sparkling wine, beer and spirits is available throughout the voyage. Cultural evenings ashore or on board the ship and gratuities are also included in the basic cruise fare.

If you’d like to enhance your onboard experience, Azamara offers inclusive “Experience More” packages that are discounted and based on the length of the voyage.

For example, on a seven-day or shorter sailing, solo travelers can add a package for $799 that’s valued at $1,114 (a savings of 28%). This value-add bundle includes $350 of onboard credit to use for shore excursions; unlimited Wi-Fi for one device; a drinks package featuring premium wines, spirits and bottled water; a $150 spa credit; and a dinner at the Chef’s Table or a total of three nights of specialty dining at Prime C or Aqualina. Three bags of laundry are also included.

Guests can book similar packages for double occupancy staterooms and longer voyages. You can also choose individual beverage, dining or internet packages if you don’t need the extra amenities or features of the bundled options.

Virgin Voyages

Virgin Voyages’ four superyacht-inspired ships are designed with adults in mind and feature 1,330 cabins (most with balconies) and 78 RockStar Quarters suites, where guests have access to Richard’s Rooftop, an exclusive outdoor deck space.

Shore excursions and spa treatments — including skin care offerings on board Scarlet Lady in partnership with Jennifer Lopez, Virgin’s chief entertainment and lifestyle officer — are some of the additional expenses not covered in the base fare.

Add-on Packages and All-Inclusive Fares

These five cruise lines offer basic cruise fares that cover accommodations and some amenities — and you can typically find special pricing and promotional deals throughout the year.

Oceania’s eight small luxury ships carry between 648 and 1,238 guests. The line’s newest ship — Vista, the first Allura Class vessel — debuted during a sailing from Rome in May 2023. The beautifully appointed vessel features four new dining concepts, spacious standard staterooms at 290-plus square feet in size, new Concierge Level veranda accommodations for solo cruisers, an elevated mixology program and more.

Oceania’s culinary program is touted by the line as “The Finest Cuisine at Sea” under the tutelage of Jacques Pépin, executive culinary director and master chef. Complimentary specialty dining is included in cruise fares on Oceania sailings. Pricing also covers airfare, still and sparkling water, specialty teas and coffees, soft drinks, and Wi-Fi on the ship.

Oceania’s “OLife Choice” package provides additional value to your cruise with 2-for-1 cruise fares, free round-trip airfare and airport transfers — plus one free amenity you’ll choose out of eight complimentary shore excursions, a beverage package or up to $800 in shipboard credit.

Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity offers special rates and packages throughout the year that save money over a la carte pricing — and elevate your onboard experience to be more inclusive. You’ll be able to access the best deal on the added perks if you book the upgraded package before you sail, saving up to 40 to 50 percent of the actual cost.

The line’s “All-Included” package bundles the most popular add-ons for cruisers: a standard beverage package for alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, unlimited basic Wi-Fi, and gratuities for the staff and crew. Pricing depends on the stateroom or suite category and sailing.

There are other options when booking a cruise with Celebrity to create a more upscale and all-inclusive experience. Guests staying in all-suite The Retreat have exclusive access to a sundeck (on select ships), lounge and Luminae, a private restaurant that features Global Culinary Ambassador Daniel Boulud at the helm. Guests of The Retreat booking the “All-Included” package receive a premium beverage package, premium unlimited Wi-Fi, gratuities and an onboard credit.

If you book AquaClass accommodations, you’ll also have access to complimentary amenities and perks, such as unlimited access to the SEA Thermal Suite, discounts on spa treatment packages and complimentary fitness classes. In addition, you’ll also find a bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival (by request) and two bottles of water refreshed daily in your room. AquaClass guests also have exclusive access to the restaurant Blu. You can add the “All-Included” package to your booking, which will include the Classic Drinks Package, basic Wi-Fi and gratuities.

Passengers who want to book this “All-Included” package and are sharing a stateroom or suite will need to book the same package.

Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian also offers promotional fares and special deals throughout the year that feature similar amenities and perks to what you’ll find on an all-inclusive cruise. The “Free at Sea” deal bundles discounts on the cruise, free specialty dining, unlimited open bar privileges, shore excursion credits, savings on Wi-Fi access, discounts on the third and fourth guests in the stateroom, and a 2-for-1 deal on airfare.

“Free at Sea Plus” takes the package up a notch with a more comprehensive beverage selection, including top-shelf cocktails, Champagne by the glass, bottles of select premium wines at dinner and signature Starbucks coffee drinks. This option also includes unlimited Wi-Fi, additional nights of specialty dining and shore excursions.

Prices for both packages on Norwegian Cruise Line will depend on the dates, length and destination of the cruise.

Holland America Line

Holland America Line’s “Have It All Premium Cruise Package” is available to book for cruises six days or longer, excluding the line’s Grand Voyages. The benefits vary depending on the length of the trip but include credits for shore excursions; the Signature Beverage Package; specialty dining at Tamarind, Pinnacle Grill or Canaletto; and a Wi-Fi Surf Package. The cost starts at $50 a day per person.

An early booking bonus for this package includes an Elite Beverage Package upgrade, covered crew appreciation charges and a premium Wi-Fi upgrade. Holland America has other special promotions throughout the year. One of these is an early booking bonus of up to $400 in onboard credit per stateroom for Mariner Society members.

Princess Cruises

“Princess Plus” and “Princess Premier” packages offer guests two options to upgrade their onboard amenities from the standard Princess Cruises plan, which covers accommodations, dining, entertainment and the line’s signature MedallionClass experience.

“Princess Plus” perks include a beverage package with drinks up to $15 each, Wi-Fi on one device per guest, gratuities for the crew, two premium desserts a day (think hazelnut gelato at the onboard gelateria), two fitness classes per cruise (such as Pure Barre or YogaSix) and unlimited trips to the juice bar. The cost is $60 per day per person for this middle-tier package.

Additional benefits of the highest-tier option, at $80 per person per day, include the Premier Beverage Package, which covers drinks up to $20 each, and Wi-Fi for up to four devices per guest. Other features of the “Princess Premier” upgrade are two specialty meals, a photo package, Princess Prizes, reserved theater seating and a Medallion accessory.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO Alaska Cruises Insider

The sheer size of Alaska lends itself to a wide variety of terrain and travel experiences. This diversity means you need to be prepared for a lot of change while traveling.

The best time to travel to Alaska depends on your priorities. If you're interested in the Midnight Sun, the longest day of the year is June 21, when you can experience close to 20 or more hours of sunlight in some parts of the state. If you're more interested in the Alaska Northern Lights, the earlier sunset in later summer will allow more contrast and better views of this natural wonder.

No two days will be the same, and you'll need to pack your clothing to prepare for temperature changes throughout the day. Think layers: zip-up sweaters, boots, rain jackets.

Must-Sees for Your Once in a Lifetime Alaska Cruise Vacation

December 14, 2022

Whether you're a history buff or a nature nut, there are numerous bucket list destinations to experience while traveling on your Alaska cruise vacation.

Alaska is not a formal place; people even wear jeans to the opera. Focus more on comfort when deciding what clothing to pack.

Cameras, binoculars, rain ponchos and jackets are useful, but add these to the souvenirs you'll be picking up and soon your bag will be too heavy to tote around. Bring along a quality day pack to make it easier to hold your necessities.

Learn a few words in Alaska's local lingo: The "Alcan" is the Alaska-Canada Highway, for example, and "fish stories" are the local version of tall tales — unreliable yarns of mythological proportions, often told by fisherman.

ALASKAN CUISINE WILD IS THE WAY

Alaskan food focuses on locally sourced ingredients that reflect the state's rugged terrain and the vast oceans surrounding it. These nutrient-rich waters serve up some gorgeous fish and shellfish, from super-fresh salmon to huge Alaskan King Crabs that can feed a crowd, while game meats and berries from the wilderness form a perfect marriage of flavor.

Best Alaska Smoked Salmon

SALMON IS CENTRAL

Fresh-caught wild salmon is served up at backyard BBQs and the finest restaurants. For something different, try the sweet and savory treat Indian Candy, salmon that is sweetened and smoked till hard.

Typical Alaskan Sourdough Bread

SOURDOUGH WON'T LET YOU GO

Sourdough is such an important part of Alaskan culture that long-time Alaskans are actually called sourdoughs in local parlance. Try a sourdough bread bowl filled with salmon chowder for a hearty lunch.

Alaskan Wild Berries Pie Dessert

GO WILD FOR BERRIES

Alaskan wild berries are sweet and pack a powerful punch of flavor. Whether served up in jams, candies, pies or cobblers, Alaskan blueberries, high-bush cranberries and other local wild berries are a staple when it comes to Alaskan summer eats.

RELATED PORTS

Whether you're interested in hiking through a forest, trekking to glaciers or a shopping spree downtown, the towns along Alaska's inside passage provide a variety of adventurous activities. Alaska cruise ports such as Juneau and Ketchikan are small cities with their own personalities. Anchorage is the state's largest city and a gateway to the rest of the state. Denali National Park takes you out of the city altogether, into a wilderness full of spruce forests and snow-capped mountain peaks.

The 12 Best All-Inclusive Cruises for 2024

All-Inclusive Cruises

Regent seven seas cruises.

Regent Seven Seas touts its six ships – with the newest vessel, Seven Seas Grandeur , which debuted in late 2023 – as "the world's most luxurious fleet." The line's intimate ships accommodate up to 750 guests. They feature all ocean-view suites, prestigious museum-quality art collections (including a prized Fabergé egg on the new Grandeur), and itineraries that call on more than 500 destinations around the world.

With Regent's "every luxury included" philosophy and 2-for-1 all-inclusive fares, passengers receive round-trip airfare and transfers between the airport and ship, as well as unlimited shore excursions, two- or three-night land programs (based on the itinerary), and a complimentary pre-cruise hotel package for concierge suites and higher. On the ship, enjoy a fully stocked in-suite minibar; specialty dining; unlimited fine wines, spirits and other beverages; prepaid gratuities; unlimited Wi-Fi; and free valet laundry service.

On top of personalized service, guests sailing on Regent Seven Seas cruises will enjoy immersive exploration ashore – with overnights in some ports of call – and enrichment programs.

Sailing on board one of Silversea's 13 ultra-luxury cruise or expedition ships commences with the line's new chauffeur experience. This door-to-door service transports guests from home to the airport and back home on the return trip. The line's all-inclusive pricing also encompasses international or domestic flights (with business class upgrades in certain destinations), pre- and post-cruise hotel accommodations, butler service in every suite, all gratuities, gourmet dining, and complimentary alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, including Champagne.

Guests will also enjoy a staff-to-guest ratio of nearly 1-to-1 – and with no more than 728 guests. Other all-inclusive perks include at least one shore excursion in each port plus onboard lectures and programming. On expedition sailings in destinations like Antarctica , all guided Zodiac tours and landings are included in the fare.

When it comes to dining on Silversea ships, gourmet options feature French, Asian and Italian cuisine along with other international fare. For a special evening, S.A.L.T. Kitchen is a new destination-focused concept on Silver Ray, Nova , Moon and Dawn . This immersive dining experience, Sea And Land Taste, was developed in partnership with the former editor-in-chief of "Saveur Magazine," Adam Sachs. The culinary offerings with S.A.L.T. also include shore excursions, where guests can tour a 500-year-old family winery and vineyard in Croatia, visit an organic farm in Denmark, or learn to make gelato in Sicily.

Expenses not covered in Silversea's fare include salon and spa services, personal training sessions, select excursions, upgraded internet packages, and special bottles of wine or liquors.

Compare Silversea Cruises deals on GoToSea.

Seabourn Cruise Line

Seabourn's seven purpose-built expedition vessels and intimate luxury cruise ships accommodate between 264 and 600 guests.

Atlas Ocean Voyages

Atlas Ocean Voyages features "always included" cruise fares on its two purpose-built yachts, World Navigator and World Traveller. The line recently welcomed a third ship to its fleet for the 2023-24 Antarctica season, World Voyager. Atlas' high-end boutique ships cater to just 198 passengers and feature spacious staterooms and suites with panoramic windows or private balconies and beautiful public spaces and lounges.

If you're on one of the line's Epicurean Expeditions, the cultural immersion program offers complimentary special tastings, market visits and cooking demonstrations. In addition to use of the marina's water toys (on select sailings, weather permitting), guests can enjoy an authentic Portuguese dinner and an alfresco Josper Grill dining experience at 7-AFT Grill. On select voyages, culinary presentations, wine tastings and other special events are hosted by an expert.

More-Inclusive Cruises

Virgin Voyages

Celebrity Cruises

Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian also offers promotional fares and special deals throughout the year that feature similar amenities and perks to what you'll find on an all-inclusive cruise. The "Free at Sea" deal bundles discounts on the cruise, free specialty dining, unlimited open bar privileges, shore excursion credits, savings on Wi-Fi access, discounts on the third and fourth guests in the stateroom, and a 2-for-1 deal on airfare.

Prices for both packages on Norwegian Cruise Line will depend on the dates, length and destination of the cruise.
