Premeux Tour Pack for Kawasaki Nomad (99-08)

Afternoon Folks, Got a couple questions regarding this product if you would indulge me: 1) What is the quality? I'm looking for something durable enough to last me until I can afford my next big bike (currently leaning toward a Voyager but it'll be at least 2-3 years). 2) How difficult would it be to modify these to fit an '06 Vulcan 1600 Classic? I'm fairly mechanical, I've done welding before (prefer not too, but sometimes it can't be helped), and I know my way around my bike fairly well. Just wondering if a set up like this is realistic for me to attempt. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.  

My understanding is that the Premeux equipment is good stuff. It should present no major difficulties on the install. I think that they even have a rack that will handle the mount.  

Yeah, I saw that they sell a "ghost bracket" for the trunk so, from the looks of it, I wouldn't have to mount it to a luggage rack. That saves me around $150 which is always a plus. Now I'm just debating on whether or not I want to get the tour pack AND fairing or just the tour pack and a good windshield. Leaning more toward windshield right now, but we'll see. Thanks for the reply.  

Premeux Good stuff. Ordered fairing for my 06 Nomad and arrived with 2 tone paint that matched Kawi perfectly. Had fairing mounted in 15 minutes and no problem since.  

Good stuff. Now the trick is to convince my wife to let me drop over $1k on my bike lol. Of course that's always the tricky part I guess. Oh, to have my manhood back.  

A co-worker has their fairing on his nomad, it looks like a well constructed piece. I would imagine the rest of their line is just as good.  

I think I've made the decision to go with the Tour Pack w/o fairing. Gonna go with the hard bags/trunk and a standard windshield. I just like the look of it. It's comfortable, can be used for touring (with a seat upgrade), but it still has more of a true cruiser look instead of a more tour style look.  

Look up Wompus racks on the net. Specifically made for Nomads. It is kind of large but simply bolts on to existing shock studs(5 min.) Comes painted black but I painted mine Kawi silver-going to get it chromed. I bought a used Harley Tour Pak-matched my Nad's colors and that was it.  

Premeux stuff is extremely well-made durable, and it is beautifully done, but it is awfully pricey. The cost was one of the reasons I decided to go to the new Voyager, rather than upgrading my '07 Nomad with Premeux trunk, fairing and lowers.

Vulcan 1700 Nomad Tourpack

Hello all, I am new to this forum and I recently bought a leftover 2009 Nomad. Has anyone out there bought and/or installed the "wraparound seat/trunk" Tourpack that Kawasaki offers as on of the few accessories for the 2009 Nomad? Before I shell out $1350.00, it would be great to get some input from somone regarding installation and passenger comfort level the wraparound seat gives. Thanks in advance John  

That kit is the voyager rear trunk and backrest assembly so anyone with comments on the voyager comfort willl be what you need as well. There are alot of chats about this, all positive.  

I have the optional tourpack on my Nomad. It looks great and my passenger loves it. When I bought My Nomad in September of 09, they were not sure if they were going to continue the option for the tourpack, and it was only available in black. If you wanted a color other than black, you had to paint it yourself. Has this changed?  

I ordered it today..... I ordered the tour pack from the same dealer I got my Nomad from today. He gave me 10% off the list price. Thanks for you input regarding thid matter. I'm sure my wife will love it. John
