When our guide showed up at our hotel he asked me what i wanted to see and i told him the gay side of budapest and he said there is none what else did i want to see. i told him i had already been in budapest for 3 days and have done all the highlights. we then spent the next 30 minutes looking at a map and discussing what to see then went to a bus stop and he bought us our tickets and said he would meet us at the other side as he had his bike. by the time we got to our destination and started the tour 1.5 hours had passed and we had only seen 1 thing. we saw a basilica and then walked past some statues bought a coffee and he dropped us off at the market 30 minutes before our tour was done. I really think you are missing a big market by not having Gay tours. take us to some gay owned shops, bars and restaurants, show some history. Read more Written 26 October 2022

I liked to hear all the knowledge and information our tour-guide Viviana could provide us with. She did this in a very good way, so we didn't felt to be in school, but together with a very good friend who knew a great deal about everything we saw around us. In this way also a very good start for our 2 weeks in Palermo to know, where we would like to explore more o go back to. Thank you very much Viviana, that was just marvellous! The tour also included a walking tour of Munich, an evening at a local restaurant and a day drip to Neuschwanstein Castle. From the start the tour was well organised and there were absolutely no hitches. Our guide for the walking tour and day trip, David, was excellent - friendly and knowledgeable. Oktoberfest itself was good fun.. All in all, would definitely recommend the trip and also the company. Read more Written 2 October 2019

I booked with them the holidays for me and a group of friends in Southern Spain; they booked for us hotels, guides and private transfers between Granada, Malaga and Sevilla. The hotels were all pretty good and in perfect locations. I must give a special mention to the local guide in Sevilla, he is a person enjoying his job, and you can tell! Private transfers were on time, plenty of space in the minivan, and good music provided by the driver. The best part is, despite all these good services, the price was still affordable! I will definitely book with them my future trips! Read more Written 30 July 2019

Beautiful gay Romania: Sighisoara, Craiova, Bucharest, Brasov, Bran & Peles castles, and much more

A mythical nation telling of ancient Dacian sorcerers and blood-sucking princes brooding from Gothic castle turrets, Romania is one fairy-tale vacation not to be missed. Its famed Danube River winds along the nation’s southern border before forking into the north, slaking national parks and medieval towns on its path to the Black Sea. It’s at this point the river reaches its culmination, on the bountiful wetlands of the Danube Delta where first-rate hiking, boating and birdwatching adventures await. The Carpathian Mountains slicing through the centre of Romania also make for spectacular hiking, this time through meadow and pine forest ending on craggy peaks grazed by elk. As for gay Romania, the story remains to be finished. While gay Bucharest has its burgeoning gay scene, conservative attitudes are yet to fully change. With so many beautiful heritage towns to visit, however, we doubt you’ll find this such a problem.

Gay Romania

The Romanian gay scene may still need a few years to catch up with Western Europe on the matter of gay rights, but, even today, despite lasting Romanian Orthodox influence, you’ll find progressive attitudes and a strong community can be found, most notably in the capital. Located in southeastern Europe, Romania, of course, has its struggles in the pursuit of LGBT rights. Most notably you’ll find that locals outside of the capital are somewhat socially conservative, with negative attitudes towards gay and transgender communities not uncommon. In terms of law, while the gay community is protected by anti-discrimination laws, same-sex couples are still unable to get married and influence from the church means this is very unlikely to change in the near future.

Gay rights organisations in Romania work tirelessly to advocate for gay rights and social acceptance but nevertheless Orthodox educations regarding ‘traditional family values’ has made it difficult to shrug off the notion of gay ‘immorality’. Be aware that rural towns and communities may think this way and open displays of queerness may be ill-advised. Find the most open gay scene in Bucharest, where tolerant and progressive locals live mostly in harmony with the LGBT community.

1. Bucharest

Upon starting out in the capital, one should know that Bucharest is undergoing some changes. Formerly under the communist dictatorship of Nicolai Ceausescu, the city had long been seen as Europe’s “forgotten capital” up until very recently when money from the European Union came flooding in and redevelopment projects began. Bucharest now sits under the dust of construction work and pretty bad traffic, but the potential of this south-central city is undeniable. Resist the urge to turn tail and run towards more rural parts on arrival in Bucharest International Airport and instead brave a few days of frenetic charm.

Patient visitors will be rewarded by various attractions, starting out at the sweeping Parliament Palace, the world’s second-largest building built for Ceausescu on the site of the woefully demolished historic centre. But revolution comes next, commemorated in the form of Revolution Square, now the heart of the city and home to the superb National Art Museum where Romanian medieval works hang proudly. Slightly north you’ll find Calea Victoriei where city life comes to shop, drink and socialise, while University Square, closer to the city’s famed north-south axis, is the actual site of the 1989 uprising. Below that lies the redevelopment area – and one-time historic centre –  which, though decidedly shabby, maintains popularity among locals for its great number of bars and restaurants, including some gay bar Bucharest hot spots.

Once out of the capital, Romania’s nature takes centre stage particularly in the region of central Romania, Transylvania, two hours north of Bucharest. The medieval towns and cities here seem straight out of a fairy tale, or indeed the famed gothic novel Dracula, a book inspired by the region. Never is this truer than in Sibiu, a town located on Transylvania’s Cibin River and once named European Capital of Culture thanks in part to its Baroque architecture and cobblestone appeal. But more than this, Sibiu sends visitors through the centuries, landing in the 12 th century at downtown Sibiu’s citadel built for German settlers (otherwise known as Transylvanian Saxons) when the region was a part of Hungary. Moving on in time, you’ll find the 15th-century Baroque styles of the Grand Square, followed by the gabled houses and church-laden squares of the 17 th century.

Though most of the city’s main historic attractions lie in the upper town, continue walking to the lower town for quaint streets and brightly coloured houses edging the imposing city walls and towers that lead down to the river. Other things to do while in Sibiu include a visit to the open-air ASTRA Museum of Folk Civilisation, an evening with the philharmonic orchestra, or summertime festivities of performing arts across Sibiu’s parks and theatres. For party animals wanting a wilder time in gay Sibiu however, Delirio Gay Club – a mainstay of Cluj-Napoca and a new addition to Sibiu’s nightlife scene – will be the highlight.

3. Sighisoara

Walled in by preserved citadel walls built by 12 th century Germans, it’s clear that Sighisoara holds much intriguing history from the get-go. If you must know, it was on orders of the King of Hungary that the city be defended and, as a result, the city became a hub of trade for many centuries. Arguably the best-preserved medieval town in Europe, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Sighisoara Romania has many stories to tell. Most famous of which is the story of Vlad the Impaler (or Prince Vlad Dracula), a 15th-century ruler immortalised in Bram Stoker’s eponymous Gothic novel as Count Dracula. Was Vlad a vampire? Probably not. But that doesn’t stop hordes of visitors visiting the ex-ruler’s home as well as the Church on the Hill, Dominican Monastery and Venetian House, all landmarks depicted within the novel.

Picture-perfect and oh-so Gothic, it’s easy to see why Stoker would want to immortalise this town in literature. Pull your eyes from the pages to glimpse gingerbread roofs and cobbled lanes eclipsed by medieval church towers high up on the town’s forested hills. While there is a great amount of vampire-themed souvenirs, Sighisoara may also surprise you with its rather more cute café scene on commercial streets boasting boutique hotels and local craft stores.

While vampire sightings are unlikely, jaw-dropping castles are ubiquitous in Transylvania. There’s the 14 th century Corvin Castle and King Carol’s 19th-century abode, but the spookiest of them all must be Bran Castle in Bran, 25 kilometres southwest of Brasov. A dynamic city home to much fascinating history, Brasov offers more than just Dracula’s fictional residence. While the 13th-century hilltop castle is seen by many to be the highlight of the city, other worthy attractions include the Black Church cathedral and its 4,000 pipe organ, as well as Rope Street, the nation’s narrowest alleyway. While it’s easy to have sporty adventures in Brasov, thanks to world-class skiing and ice skating services high up in the Carpathian mountains, don’t leave without taking time to wander the centre. Try Council Square and the nearby museum before or after getting lost in the maze of streets lined with boho cafés and gingerbread-style houses. While gay Brasov is slightly subdued, the mixed local nightlife is enough to keep most amused.

5. Cluj-Napoca

Film capital of Romania and home of the country’s largest university, is the unofficial capital of Transylvania, Cluj-Napoca. With its large student population, Cluj-Napoca blends ancient history with modern attitudes to create a charming space that lures the nation’s artists and filmmakers. The city itself predates Roman colonisation and hosts artefacts from as far back as the 2 nd century. Across the city, you’ll see ancient landmarks of different styles, such as the towering St. Michael’s Church, built in the 14 th century by Gothic architects or the 18 th century Alexandre Borza Botanic Gardens which have grown to feature over 10,000 plants across 35 acres. The town’s Baroque-era Bánffy Palace meanwhile now doubles up as the National Museum of Art, the city’s main arts and culture centre.

As you’d expect from a university town, Cluj-Napoca has a stellar night-time offering that is both liberal and artsy in good measure. While most mixed bars and clubs, gay Cluj-Napoca is in its second year as host of Cluj Pride, a proud moment for the local gay community. At all other times, Cluj’s one and only gay club – Delirio Gay Club – ensures LGBT people have a place to call their own. Once you’ve had about all you can take of uneven cobblestones and gothic buildings, leave Cluj to venture into the Apuseni Maramures mountain range, for hiking, cycling, horse-riding and kayaking adventures passing through Romania’s best natural landscapes.

Named for the great Mount Sinai which rises sharply in the west, Sinaia is a mountain resort town like no other, built around an old monastery in the valley beneath Bucegi Mountain range’s best ski slopes

Named for the great Mount Sinai which rises sharply in the west, Sinaia is a mountain resort town like no other, built around an old monastery in the valley beneath Bucegi Mountain range’s best ski slopes. As well as religious heritage, Sinaia also boasts royal history. The ornate Peles Castle is a must-see while visiting, as the summer home of King Charles I, Romania’s first king and now a popular filming site. Tour the regal gardens and inner museum of Peles, appreciating the Neo-Renaissance stonework and stained-glass windows complimented by panoramic mountain views beyond. Skiing may be the go-to activity during winter in Sinaia, but at any other time, hiking is also much loved, thanks to fir-tree forest trails and wildflowers dotting the entire valley.

Another university town this time in the Pelendava region, Craiova is the perfect resting point for travellers making their way from Bucharest to Timisoara. More than that however Craiova offers both historic interest and youthful vibes, largely within the walkable old centre. Evermore palaces allow insight into Craiova’s wealthy past,  but it’s the town’s art museum – the one-time home of Romania’s richest family, as well as an ex-monarch, former Yugoslav leader and exiled Polish president – that reveals the most. Inside, you’ll also find the renowned works of sculptor Constantin Brâncuşi.

Delving further into Craiova’s past, you’ll learn that the town is based on the ancient site of Dacian and Roman settlements. A Roman fortress uncovered in Trajan, for example, is among the town’s oldest archaeological finds. Most of the history on show in Craiova, however, is from the 15 th to 18 th centuries. Surviving an earthquake in 1790, shortly followed by the plague and a Turkish assault in 1802,  St. Dimitru Church still stands from 1652, rebuilt in original styles.

8. Maramures

Journey from Cluj-Napoca to this next one – the traditional region of Maramures based high in the mountains of northern Romania. Centred on the capital of Baie Mare, Maramures is renowned across the country as the ‘Land of wood’ for a simple reason. All of the houses and centuries-old churches here come constructed in timber, all backgrounded by vast woodland. As well as being home to skilled carpenters, local enterprise in the town focuses on handicrafts, textiles and music, much of which has been taught in the culture for thousands of years. Besides enjoying the region’s wooden architecture, come to Maramures for its untouched forests and medieval history. Spot deer, wolves and bears on trails within the forest, ending your day in Baie Mare’s main square (Piata Libertatii) for a true taste of traditional life and a feast at the vibrant food market on Piata Izvoarelor.

9. Painted Monasteries of Bucovina

It’s not often a series of buildings warrant a passage of their own, but for the Bucovina monasteries, we make an exception. Located in the northeast, in the cultural gateway town of Suceava, the monasteries live peacefully among other  UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the Bucovina Ethnographic Museum and the Princely Court. Elaborately painted in 15 th and 16th-century Byzantine frescoes, depicting saints, prophets and the afterlife, the Bucovina monasteries must be seen to be believed. Amble through tranquil villages from Bucovina to Lasi, marvelling at the perfectly preserved buildings alongside modern examples of local craftsmanship, such as rare black pottery in Marginea.

10. Mamaia and Constanta

While mountains dominate Romania’s landscape, the nation is not without its seaside retreats. Mamaia is the most famous resort on the coast, located north of Constanta on an eight-kilometre stretch of beachfront. Sunbathing here can get highly competitive in summer leading to hoicked prices and crowds, but the warm waters and vibrant nightlife means we don’t mind getting our elbows out. Once an elite vacation spot, Mamaia now draws locals and internationals of all tiers, thanks to its stunning location between Lake Siutghiol and the Black Sea. Choose from any number of fancy hotels exuding modern luxury, such as the Laki Hotel, Albatros Villa or Rex Hotel. From your base, enjoy long leisurely days between the beach and the town’s impressive archaeological museums, visiting the royal summer residence of Cara-Dalga Castle before watching the moon rise over the sea or the sunset beyond the lake.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Danube Delta is best seen by boat, particularly on slow-moving sunset cruises when the view is at its most sublime

11. Sarmizegetusa Regia

Though quite a mouthful for newcomers to the Romanian language, Sarmizegetusa Regia is sure to leave you tongue-tied for a whole other reason. The capital city of the ancient Dacian Empire and a key military, religious and political hub for millennia, Sarmizegetusa Regia earns its UNESCO World Heritage listing with ancient ruins amidst the unbeatable natural backdrop. Elevated 1,200 meters, deep within the forests of the Carpathians, Sarmizegetusa Regia wows visitors with tales of its ancient history, underscored by key archaeological artefacts dating back to the 1 st century BC. From then on, old’ Sarmi has seen Kings and Roman emperors come and go, becoming inlaid with a history of conquests, religious power and sacred culture. See fragments of fortifications built in the Roman era as well as a number of temple ruins offering insight into the sacrificial customs and spiritual life of the Dacian Empire.

12. Danube Delta

The culmination of Europe’s largest river leaves a deep impression on all who visit. At the meeting point between the Danube and the Black Sea in the Dobrogea region, the Danube Delta flourishes with life of all kinds. Home to the world’s largest wetland area, the delta is home to 23 distinct ecosystems, each fostering unique species of plant and animal life. Over 5,000 square kilometres of snaking riverbed there is said to be some 300 bird species and 45 species of fresh-water fish inhabiting the lakes and marshes bordering the Delta’s main artery.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Danube Delta is best seen by boat, particularly on slow-moving sunset cruises when the view is at its most sublime. Otherwise, venture closer to the coastline for spectacular hiking opportunities within the Delta Biosphere Reserve, before returning to civilisation by way of the sleepy fishing village of Sulina. Romania’s easternmost point, Sulina is a worthy base before embarking on nature tours in the region, with tranquil beaches and authentic lodgings close to Argamum and Enisala medieval fortresses as well as the orthodox monasteries of Saon and Celic Dere.

Trends / LGBTQIA+

LGTBQ acceptance has been slow moving in the Romanian capital of Bucharest. However, there are a few hot spots around town where the crowd is welcoming and you can stay out of trouble. As with any country that still has trouble with progress and civil rights, displays of affection should be kept to a minimum when exploring here.

The nightlife scene in Bucharest is focused primarily around the Floreasca area, where you’ll find plenty of quirky, gay-friendly bars like Control Club, a hip dance pub with live music and queer nights. Expirat and Eden are also great options if you’re looking for a place to dance. Queens Club is the oldest gay bar in Bucharest and tables are often booked in advance on the weekends, while Thor’s Hammer is the newest option and frequently hosts lesbian, karaoke and beat nights.

Lente & Cafea is one of the best restaurants in Bucharest and offers an experimental menu with a fusion of chicken and fish cuisine. There are also regular jazz events throughout the week. Energiea is another great option due to a welcoming atmosphere and healthy, international food. It sits right next to the beautiful Cismigiu Gardens, making it the perfect option after a morning stroll.

Bucharest has a long way to go when it comes to civil rights, but the atmosphere is ripe for change and progress is coming. For now it’s a wonderful place to take in the architecture and wonderful landscapes as long as you’re okay with refraining from a little PDA.

LGBT Rights In Romania: Everything You Should Know Before You Visit! 🇷🇴

Cecilia Miller is a lesbian love warrior and educator fighting for queer justice and ensuring every shade of the rainbow shines bright & bold!

Stunning Romania is home to cliff-top castles, spectacular mountain scenery and a host of Dracula clichés. Move beyond the latter, and travelers will find nature parks, gothic Transylvania towns and wild nights out in lively Bucharest.

Being off-the-beaten-track, visitors to this southeastern European country might not know much about LGBT rights in Romania. While it is in Europe, travelers will not find the same level of open-mindedness as in Western European countries. Romania is a socially conservative country, and that is reflected in its attitudes towards gay and transgender communities.

However, the country’s gay scene is gradually growing, and it definitely a place that should be on everyone’s must-see list. This guide aims to provide a summary of the situation in Romania to help LGBT travelers prepare for a trip there.

lgbt rights in Romania - trans rights in Romania - lgbt acceptance in Romania - gay travel in Romania

In this article we will cover...

The LGBT Legal Situation In Romania

The lgbt social situation in romania, trans rights in romania, so what does this mean for gay travelers, places to go in lgbt romania, accommodation in lgbt romania, activities in lgbt romania, meeting people in lgbt romania, things to think about in lgbt romania.

The good news is that homosexuality is legal in Romania, and there is a range of anti-discrimination laws in place. In fact, the past three decades have seen huge progress for LGBT rights in Romania: homosexuality was wholly decriminalized (1996), the age of consent was equalized (2002), anti-discrimination laws in the workplace and regarding the provision of services were introduced (2000).

In 2001, Article 200 of the penal code, which made sexual acts between two people of the same sex – including hand-holding – punishable, was revoked as part of Romania’s bid to join the EU.

In fact, the only law against gay citizens in Romania is that prohibiting same-sex marriage; this is unlikely to change any time soon, given that public opinion, under the influence of the church, is still very much against it .

Currently, religious and conservative organizations are mobilizing to hold a referendum on amending the constitution so that it will enshrine marriage as ‘between a man and a woman’; this would make legalizing gay marriage much more difficult and is seen by many as a step backward.

lgbt rights in Romania - trans rights in Romania - lgbt acceptance in Romania - gay travel in Romania

Despite the legal support in place for the LGBT community, the social situation for gay people in Romania is still very challenging. The Romanian Orthodox Church plays a huge role in society there and has publicly spoken out against LGBT . 81% of Romanians identify as Romanian Orthodox , and the church also is heavily involved in education.

Unsurprisingly, given these circumstances, many think of the gay community as ‘sick’ or ‘immoral.’ Many of the organizations campaigning for the constitutional amendment frequently cite their adherence to ‘traditional family values,’ seeing LGBT people as a threat to these.

There have been hostile reactions to Gay Pride marches and gay festivals, particularly from far-right groups like Noua Dreaptă. In 2013, an EU survey listed Romania as third among countries with the highest levels of homophobia in the EU.

Many gay and lesbian Romanians hide their sexuality, particularly if they live outside of Bucharest and other major urban areas. As in many countries, the rural areas are considerably more traditional and conservative.

But it’s not all doom and gloom. Thanks to the efforts of advocacy organizations like ACCEPT Romania , attitudes are slowly changing, and the gay community is becoming more open and active across the country, although there is still a sizable gap between city and country .

lgbt rights in Romania - trans rights in Romania - lgbt acceptance in Romania - gay travel in Romania

While it has been legal since 1996 for a person to officially change their sex in documents if they have gone through sex reassignment surgery, this law is ambiguous and inadequate. This means that there is a lot of inconsistency between legal rulings, and it is usually a laborious process to go through.

Discrimination against trans people remains at a similarly high level to that against other members of the LGBT community.

lgbt rights in Romania - trans rights in Romania - lgbt acceptance in Romania - gay travel in Romania

While overall public attitudes towards the LGBT community are still quite negative, gay travelers should not allow this to put them off going to this beautiful country; however, people should be aware of the potential hostility they could encounter.

In an interesting way, it is almost more important to be wary in Romania than in a country where homosexuality is completely prohibited; while it is legal in Romania, the country is in an in-between zone where the population is more aware of the LGBT community, and therefore hostile attitudes are also more out in the open.

This definitely doesn’t mean LGBT people can’t have a fantastic time in Romania, just that it’s important to read situations carefully, particularly in less well-traveled areas.

lgbt rights in Romania - trans rights in Romania - lgbt acceptance in Romania - gay travel in Romania

Bucharest is definitely the most tolerant and open city in Romania; here is where the bulk of Romania’s gay scene is to be found, from vibrant nightclubs to cafes frequented by the LGBT community. Having said that, open displays of affection or queerness are rare, and many people are still closeted with their family and coworkers.

Bucharest does have Pride, though, as does Cluj, thanks to the efforts of organizations like ACCEPT and MozaiQ , and attendance creeps up every year.

Outside of Bucharest , there are two gay bars in Romania – one in Sibiu and one in Cluj-Napoca . There were rumors of one opening in Timisoara , a picturesque university town, although these are still unfounded. Despite having a lot of students, which usually makes a city more liberal, Timisoara does not have much of a gay scene.

lgbt rights in Romania - trans rights in Romania - lgbt acceptance in Romania - gay travel in Romania

Sibiu and Cluj-Napoca, stunning Transylvanian towns, are both great places to visit (not just for their one gay club each!). Sibiu offers cultural festivals and jazz, while Cluj has a more bohemian feel with emerging artists and a lively nightlife.

As has been mentioned, the more rural areas are likely to be considerably more conservative, and so gay travelers to the countryside villages should be aware of that. Having said this, there are very few incidents of discrimination against tourists reported.

lgbt rights in Romania - trans rights in Romania - lgbt acceptance in Romania - gay travel in Romania

It would be difficult to find a hotel or hostel that has issues with gay travelers in Romania; for one thing, often, more open-minded people tend to work in tourism and hospitality. Of course, if traveling in a couple, people might occasionally ask the old ‘twin beds?’ question, but generally, LGBT travelers can feel comfortable in any accommodation options.

As always in these situations, the more luxury and high-end the hotel, the more liberal the attitudes (or at least, the more likely they are to turn a blind eye, given the price premium!), It’s a good idea to be discreet in smaller or family-run establishments as they tend to be more conservative – although, of course, there are exceptions to every rule.

When LGBT travelers are looking for more specifically gay-friendly hostels or hotels, it’s a good idea to check on the internet. They can be found, particularly in Bucharest, and it can make travel more relaxing because of the inclusive atmosphere.

lgbt rights in Romania - trans rights in Romania - lgbt acceptance in Romania - gay travel in Romania

As is clear from the above information, visitors to Romania are not going to find much in the way of out-and-proud gay parties; even in Bucharest, the gay scene is fairly limited and always changing. Places close as quickly as they open, so travelers should keep an eye on Facebook and websites to make sure their information is current.

Once travelers find the party, it can be a pretty crazy time, and there are now some one-off events and parties that pop up around Romania. Bucharest, Cluj, and Sibiu are better for nightlife.

lgbt rights in Romania - trans rights in Romania - lgbt acceptance in Romania - gay travel in Romania

Aside from the party scene, Romania has masses to offer any tourists, gay or straight.

The Carpathian mountains are breathtaking; there is fascinating folk culture and plenty to keep lovers of the outdoors busy. The quaint towns of Transylvania and almost-mythical castles will keep history buffs busy for days.

Hire a car and explore at your own pace. Despite all of our warnings, we are sure you will have a fabulous time in Romania – it’s almost impossible not to in its charming old towns and thanks to all of that jaw-dropping nature.

lgbt rights in Romania - trans rights in Romania - lgbt acceptance in Romania - gay travel in Romania

Because so much of the gay scene is underground and relies on up-to-date knowledge, it is great to get to know local people. Of course, for the same reasons, it can be difficult to meet LGBT locals.

Some of the best ways to do this are in gay bars – start the evening somewhere known as a popular gay hangout, and hopefully, that will lead to new friends and adventures. The usual hook-up apps will work in Romania – there’s no internet censorship – so this would be a good way to find locals to hang out with.

Shop Queer Travel Supplies @ Queerintheworldshop.com

The most important thing for gay travelers to consider before planning a trip to Romania is what type of trip they would like to have. If they are looking for an epic glitter-filled gay scene as is found in Tel Aviv , Puerto Vallarta or Bangkok , Romania is probably not the ideal travel destination.

But LGBT travelers should not feel shut out from enjoying the sights and experiences of this beautiful country. It’s just a matter of being aware of the fact that homosexuality and the LGBT community are not accepted with open arms – yet. Having said that, most people are very kind, and all travelers, gay or straight, are sure to have an adventure they’ll never forget.

So be safe and enjoy!

  • stevepQ5078YV 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Disappointed in Gay Budapest Tour i guess i misunderstood when i signed up for a "Gay" tour of budapest. i was looking forward to seeing the gay side of the city so i was disapointed to learn it was just another city tour with a gay guide.

  • AngelenoTraveller 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles The Best Tour in Italy Gaily Tours arranged for our group of three a private walking tour of the highlights of Venice. We enjoyed several other good tours in Italy. This was the best by far. Our tour guide Carlos was charming and knowledgeable. We talked about Venice history and Venice art - as well as LGBTQ life in Italy. All fascinating. Super highly recommended. Read more Written 28 June 2022
  • Francha_12 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Concentred knowledge in a joyful way. This city tour was very interesting and fascinating. • ceri74 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Excellent tour to Gay Sunday for Oktoberfest We went on this 5 day tour mainly to attend the Gay Sunday (Rosa Wiesn) for Oktoberfest.
  • lalauralugli 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Great trip to Spain! Friendly guides, good hotels, amazing vibes! Thanks a million to Simon and his staff!

Very good tour especially for those who have limited time in Bucharest! My guide Marius was very knowledgeable of the history of the places visited. He was also very flexible with the itinerary and also managed to squeeze in a Bucharest city tour. He also took me to a very nice traditional eatery serving very nice local food.
