• In order to enter France, U.S. and Canadian citizens need a valid passport with an expiration date extending at least six months beyond the date of reentry.
• We recommend having at least one blank passport page for entry stamps.
• Beginning in 2025, U.S. and Canadian passport holders must register for an ETIAS travel authorization in order to enter many European countries.
• Passport holders from over 60 visa-exempt countries (including the U.S. and Canada) will need to apply for an ETIAS travel authorization in order to visit 30 European countries. That means that even if you’ve previously traveled to any of these European countries without a visa, starting in 2025, you’ll need to get ETIAS authorization to visit them again. If you’re traveling to multiple countries with this requirement, you only need to complete the form once. All Go Ahead travelers are responsible for obtaining their own ETIAS travel authorization before departure. For more details, please visit our Help Center .
• If you are not a U.S. or Canadian citizen, you must contact your destination country’s consulate for your specific entry requirements.

• You will walk for at least 1 hour daily across mostly flat terrain, including cobblestone streets and paved roads, with some hills.
• Travelers should be healthy enough to participate in all included walks without assistance. Adding optional excursions may increase the total amount of walking on your tour.
• You should feel comfortable managing your own baggage at times.
• Go Ahead Tours and the Tour Director who accompanies your group are unable to provide special, individual mobility assistance to travelers on tour. The responsibility of the Tour Director is to ensure the group as a whole enjoys a relaxing and informative journey, and he or she cannot be relied upon to provide ongoing, individualized assistance to any one traveler.
• If you have any mobility concerns or physical restrictions, please contact our Customer Experience Team.
• Round-trip flights booked through Go Ahead Tours arrive and depart from Paris. When you first arrive at the airport, a representative from Go Ahead Tours will meet you after clearing customs and will escort you via private motor coach to your hotel. Please remain in the arrival lounge, as the representative might be escorting one of your fellow travelers to the bus at the time of your arrival. • Transfers to and from the airport at your destination are included for travelers who have purchased their flights through Go Ahead Tours. Travelers who purchase their own flights may request airport transfers with Go Ahead Tours for an additional cost.

• We also suggest packing lightweight, loose-fitting clothing that can easily be layered.
• A sturdy pair of walking shoes or boots is recommended for sightseeing.
• You may want to pack dressier attire if you plan to visit a high-end restaurant or special performance.
• At least 60 days prior to departure, check with your doctor or healthcare provider for the latest updates and entry requirements, or visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention website at cdc.gov .
• If you have medication that you take daily, be sure you have enough for each day of the tour as well as any possible delays encountered.
• If you have dietary restrictions and/or food allergies please notify Go Ahead Tours at least 30 days prior to your departure by logging in to your account and updating your traveler info. To update this information closer to your departure date, please call our Customer Experience Team.
• For a picnic with French flair, stop at a small grocery store for cheeses, pâtés , cured meats, fresh-baked bread, and fruit. In the cities, sidewalk vendors are known for their steaming crepes, while mouthwatering pastries and hot café au lait beckon from cafes. In restaurants, the prix fixe option is a popular way to enjoy a set three- or four-course menu for a good price.
• Although lunch is generally served from noon until 2pm in France, dinner is served from 7:30pm onward. Those wishing to eat earlier can stop at a cafe, where light entrées and sandwiches are available throughout the afternoon and evening.
• France operates on the European standard 220 volts and uses Types C, E, or F plugs with two small, round pins.
• We recommend packing a universal adapter, as well as a voltage converter if you plan on using your own hairdryer or other electrical device without a built-in converter.
• Your hotels may provide hairdryers, irons, and other small appliances. However, these amenities cannot be guaranteed.
• Wi-Fi is available in most hotels, though some charges may apply.
• There is no Wi-Fi on any of the motor coaches.
• Please contact your mobile service provider for information on roaming charges.
• France is one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and six hours ahead of Eastern Time (ET).
• When it’s noon in New York, it’s 6pm on tour.
• You will use the euro on this tour.
• Better rates of exchange are usually available overseas, although it’s worth ordering some currency from your local bank to use when you first arrive.
• We strongly advise that you take debit/bank cards and credit cards, which can be used to withdraw cash at local banks as needed.
• You can use most debit/credit cards at ATMs on the international networks Cirrus and Plus, but make sure to check with your home bank about withdrawal fees.
• Inform your bank and credit card company of your travel plans so that they won’t confuse your international purchases for fraudulent charges.
• International banks and businesses primarily accept debit and credit cards that work with the EMV chip system. If you do not already have at least one debit or credit card with a chip in it, we strongly recommend requesting one from your bank prior to your tour.
• At the conclusion of your tour, it’s customary to offer your Tour Director and driver a gratuity in local currency. Please keep current exchange rates in mind.
• We recommend tipping the equivalent of $10USD to $12USD per person per day for your Tour Director and the equivalent of $3USD per person per day for your driver.
• If applicable, we also recommend the equivalent of $2USD per local guide.
• Tips can only be paid in cash.
• Most optional excursions will be available for purchase while you are on tour.
• Your Tour Director will only accept cash (in USD only), Visa, or MasterCard as payment for excursions.
• Please be advised that if you pay for an excursion by credit card while on tour, it may take up to three months for your card to be charged.

On Dec. 31, traffic closes on the Strip and it becomes a huge block party. Hotels and clubs host festive gatherings, and visitors 21 and older can head to the Time of Your Life Festival at the Freemont Street Experience for live music, casino action, more than 60 restaurants and spectacular, free light and sound shows on the Viva Vision screen. Look for a conch shell drop at Sloppy Joe's , the famous bar once frequented by author Ernest Hemingway. A drag queen will ride a red high-heeled shoe as it drops at the Bourbon Street Pub / New Orleans House complex, while a giant Key lime splashes down into an oversized margarita glass at Sunset Pier .

About two hours before sunset on New Year's Eve (and every other night), head to the Mallory Square Sunset Celebration for drinks, food, music, magicians, jugglers and more. Mobilians like to say the city was born to celebrate, including with kids. Take your littles to a special "Kids Zone" in Mardi Gras Park on New Year's Eve from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a bedtime-friendly MoonPie drop at noon.

Mardi Gras started in Mobile, and in the mid-1900s, locals started tossing MoonPies from parade floats. Sailing the wrapped treats into the crowd is now a tradition. At midnight, Mobile drops a 600-pound MoonPie , said to be the world's biggest electric MoonPie, while fireworks and a laser light show play overhead. The Windy City's got it going on. At Navy Pier , Offshore Rooftop — named the world's largest rooftop in the 2019 Guinness Book of World Records — plans a New Year's Eve premium open bar from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. with a live DJ and spectacular views of the fireworks. Dinner and champagne cruises will depart from the Pier that evening.

Start your Boise family getaway for New Year's Eve 2023 at 6 p.m. with live bands, vendors selling food and drinks, selfies made with a costumed Spuddy Buddy and the Big Idaho Potato Tour truck. Later, an illuminated GlowTato will rise over the Idaho State Capitol. Until it does, enjoy the fireworks and Urban Air Exhibition , where world-class skiers and snowboarders, pulled at 40 miles an hour onto a launch positioned between columns of flames, will do amazing aerial stunts.

Don't feel like a small potato at this event. If you get cold, ask the Idaho Concierge about the heated, elegant VIP (very important potato) room. The highlight of the night, of course, is when the GlowTato drops — like a hot potato.

Catch the Magic in Orlando, Florida

Orlando's Walt Disney World knows how to throw a party for adults and kids, which is why it's always packed on New Year's Eve. Depending on when you go, you may need a Park Pass Reservation and a valid theme park admission to get in. If the Disney hotels are full, look for last-minute family getaway accommodations in the surrounding area. Most run shuttles to and from the parks.

The most popular fireworks show is The Fantasy in the Sky at the Magic Kingdom, which includes laser lights and other special effects. Feel like dancing? Head to the parties at Tomorrowland and Frontierland . OK, maybe the prices and crowds at Walt Disney World in Orlando mean it isn't the best choice for a last-minute New Year's getaway. Find Your Jam in Nashville

In Music City, Jack Daniel's New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash will welcome 2024 with Grammy Award-nominated artist Thomas Rhett, current CMA and ACM Female Vocalist of the Year Lainey Wilson, Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd and a spectacular fireworks display. At midnight, the city's signature red music note is set to drop from a 138-foot pole. The Big Bash will be free and open to the public at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park State Park .

Some of Nashville's most famous bars and venues will also host parties and other events. For a last-minute New Year's Eve weekend getaway, scoop up tickets on Dec. 30-31 to the Old Crow Medicine Show at the Ryman Auditorium .

If you're 21 or older, get the VIP treatment at the ticketed Gold Circle Party , a private event at the Nashville Farmers Market . It will include food and beverages, and a prime viewing area for performances, fireworks and the Music Note Drop. Individual tickets will be available or you can include the party in some hotel packages.

After the festivities, rest your weary head at a vacation rental or elegant boutique hotel; more than 140 lodgings are available with Nashville's Celebration Pack and Hotel Package . Sing Auld Lang Syne in Edinburgh, Scotland

You'll need a New Year's Eve weekend getaway for this one, but it'll be worth it. Join merrymakers from around the world in Edinburgh to celebrate Hogmanay (the Scottish word for the last day of the year). This year, the three-day festival runs from Dec. 29 to to New Year's Day. The festivities begin when some 20,000 people parade with wax-based torches (like big candles) to raise money for various charities.

Our tour begins with a comfortable flight to Los Angeles. Upon arrival, we check in to our fabulous hotel for a five-night stay.

Day 2 : Float Viewing

Enjoy a delicious, included breakfast at the hotel every morning of our trip. Our day begins with a visit to Pasadena, where we get up-close views of the hand-crafted floral floats in their final stages. We also visit Universal CityWalk, a popular dining, entertainment, and shopping promenade. This afternoon, we take in the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum, one of California’s most unique destinations. See a variety of exhibits such as Air Force One, the National Treasures Gallery, a tribute to First Lady Nancy Reagan, and the Oval Office. Tonight is yours to spend as you please.

Day 3 : Warner Bros. Studio & New Year’s Eve Gala

We start our morning with a fantastic Warner Bros. Studio VIP tour, where we get an immersive look at how the magic of Hollywood is made at Stage 48: Script to Screen. Here you can go behind the scenes of Harry Potter and browse authentic props, build your own costume on the interactive design station, or view authentic headshots and audition reels on the high-definition touch screen casting table. Afterward, have lunch at the Santa Monica Pier with time to explore this seaside amusement park and shopping area. Tonight, we are guests at an exclusive New Year’s Eve Gala. Our evening features dinner, wine, and live music for our listening and dancing pleasure. At 9:00 PM (midnight Eastern Time), we ring in the new year with a champagne toast!

Day 4 : The Rose Parade

Happy New Year! We kick off our first day of 2025 with the most exciting part of our trip – the Tournament of Roses Parade. Enjoy reserved seating as we take in the fun, flowers, and music at this grand event, exclusive to the streets of Pasadena. To commemorate our time at the parade, we receive a souvenir seat cushion and program describing the floats, bands, and equestrian units. Following a boxed lunch, we return to our hotel for free time to relax in the pool or watch football games, such as the Cotton Bowl, Citrus Bowl, and famed Rose Bowl! You may also choose to pursue other interests on your own, including attending the Rose Bowl independently. (Guests are responsible for purchasing their own tickets and arranging transportation to this game.)

Day 5 : Hollywood & Farmers Market

Today we join a local guide for a spectacular tour to see the best sights of Hollywood, including the TCL Chinese Theatre and Hollywood Walk of Fame. Our city exploration concludes at the original Los Angeles Farmers Market. Enjoy lunch on your own with time to browse over 100 shops, restaurants, and grocers. This evening, we gather to celebrate our New Year’s getaway with a wonderful Farewell Dinner.

I really liked the tour overall - the bus, bus driver, and the tour leader were all very nice. Most of the hotels and included meals were above average. The amount of time to visit the sites was a little short at times, but that was expected when long driving times were needed. I would recommend this trip for other people.

Christmas Markets Rhine Cruise (Dusseldorf - Dusseldorf)

A nice sized boat and beautifully fitted out. Buffet breakfasts and a good choice of 4 course lunch and dinners, which you preordered at breakfast each day. Xmas decorations were up which added to the atmosphere. The ports we called at were great, with Xmas Markets fairly easy to find just strolling around. Although the Mainz Xmas Market was still being set up, it was still nice to wander around. There were 2 large groups (Norwegian and Spanish) with their own guide, so it was hard to mix with others, but we connected with a Spanish couple also travelling on their own, even though they had limited English and we only knew the courtesies in Spanish. No set tours were offered.

What people love about Christmas & New Year Tours in Germany

A fascinating, (sometimes too) whistlestop tour of German towns and cities. The tour guide Zsofi and her driver were probably the best I've ever had - they were helpful, upbeat and very clear in their instructions. Trip 'Good' rather than 'Excellent' because of the location of the hotels, most of which were so on the outskirts of a city that it limited what we could do in our free time. Also, some days towards the end of the tour were a bit rushed - the whole thing could stand to be at least two days longer.

Our second Crucemundo cruise was just as great as the first! The food was wonderful, and the whole crew was wonderful. Our Cruise Director, Jessica, went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed every part of our vacation.

The conference was founded in 1987 and is now a multi-track interdisciplinary annual meeting that includes invited talks, demonstrations, symposia, and oral and poster presentations of refereed papers. Along with the conference is a professional exposition focusing on machine learning in practice, a series of tutorials, and topical workshops that provide a less formal setting for the exchange of ideas.

December 2023 International Inbound Visitor Spending

International visitors spent $19.5 billion in the united states in december 2023.

Data recently released by the National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) show that in December 2023 :

• International visitors spent $19.5 billion on travel to, and tourism-related activities within, the United States, an increase of more than 22% compared to December 2022 and the highest level of monthly spending since December 2019 (before the onset of reported COVID-19 cases). In fact, monthly U.S. travel and tourism exports are within $1.4 billion of their highwater mark set back in March 2018 when international visitors spent an appreciable $20.8 billion experiencing the United States.  
• Conversely, Americans spent $18.9 billion traveling abroad during December, yielding a balance of trade surplus of $544 million and the sixth consecutive month during which the United States enjoyed a balance of trade surplus for travel and tourism-related goods and services.  
• International visitors have spent more than $212.2 billion on U.S. travel and tourism-related goods and services year to date (January through December 2023), an increase of more than 28% when compared 2022; international visitors have injected, on average, more than $581 million a day into the U.S. economy during 2023.  
• U.S. Travel and tourism exports accounted for 22.4% of U.S. services exports during December 2023 and 7.5% of all U.S. exports, goods and services alike.  

Composition of Monthly Spending (Travel Exports)

• Purchases of travel and tourism-related goods and services by international visitors traveling in the United States totaled $11.3 billion during December 2023 (compared to $8.8 billion in December 2022), an increase of 28% when compared to the previous year. These goods and services include food, lodging, recreation, gifts, entertainment, local transportation in the United States, and other items incidental to foreign travel.  
• Travel receipts accounted for 58% of total U.S. travel and tourism exports in December 2023.  
• Fares received by U.S. carriers from international visitors totaled $3.4 billion in December 2023 (compared to $2.7 billion in the previous year), up 24% when compared to December 2022. These receipts represent expenditures by foreign residents on international flights provided by U.S. air carriers.  
• Passenger fare receipts accounted for 17% of total U.S. travel and tourism exports in December 2023.  
• Expenditures for educational and health-related tourism, along with all expenditures by border, seasonal, and other short-term workers in the United States totaled $4.8 billion in December 2023 (compared to $4.4 billion in December 2022), an increase of 11% when compared to the previous year.  
• Medical tourism, education, and short-term worker expenditures accounted for 25% of total U.S. travel and tourism exports in December 2023.
