Vacuum hose routing
- Add to quote
I have a replacement motor( read used junkyard motor) in the van and there were vacuum hoses all over the place some connected some not and some split and rotten. Is there anyplace where i can get a routing diagram of the vacuum hoses on a 95? I have searched through the manuals I have and cant find any one that shows the connections on the motor and routing. Is there such a thing? Thanks, A J
Hope this helps ,
just so you know, that's from the '93 service manual - your '95 might be the same, but it also might be slightly different.
The only other I have is for Gen 2 vans , and I thought that since the 95 engines had much in common with 94 it would at least be of some assistance

That is the same diagram I have. Im concerned about the fact that it shows one engine vacuum source and the van has two that I can see and since the diagram doesnt state the location for a starting point Im not sure how the system would work. The one port is manifold vacuum( on the rear of the chamber and above and to the right of the distributor) and the other is direct( Im guessing because it is right there at the base of the distributor). At what point does one start with the diagrams engine vacuum? Secondly there are more lines to the dash vacuum than shown in the diagram. Do I just splice into one on the chance that it will work? Does it need a check valve? these are some of the questions and I cant find in a diagram nor can I find the answers to. If I delete the pcv hose and just stick a regular breather there will it effect the computer settings? Would I then be able to use that manifold vacuum port for something else or should it just be blocked? See what I mean, more questions and nothing to go by that is my problem. I am from the pre computer era so I am concerned with any elimination of the lines and how that effects the computer and its resulting actions. I dont want to eliminate and lines or reroute any until I know if it is going to effect the computer.
The pcv valve will have gas vapors and it needs to remain as it is designed , what is it you want to do ? Is there something that is not working that needs to work?, The port on the manifold can be branched off of , and the cruise control has a port. If you only want a vacuum source the manifold port is likely the best bet , are you trying to add something that is not factory ? here is another diagram that has the lines for the HVAC , but not the places on the engine, any unused vacuum ports should be blocked off or it will effect the way the engine runs.
each year evne same model and engine has several different vacuum possibilities varying between plant and country built and emissions level and other factors evne what tranny was in it there is a vacuum diagram under the hood somewhere on rad support or enfine cover or air cleaner housing etc look around

4.2L vacuum line diagram?

Iv'e been looking around for a vacuum line diagram for a 4.2L I6 and I can't seem to find one. Can someone let me know where to find one? I bought my TB used and I thought they came from the factory with a sticker somewhere under the hood (like the old models). My TB doesn't have it and I haven't seen one in the Haynes manual. I have an open vacuum port on the intake manifold plastic cover at the front. It is in the same side as the air resonator. I only just noticed it while I was changing plugs and coils today. Would anyone know where that port is to be connected ( or the diagram would be great)? Thanks for the info if you have it.
You need to fill out your profile info so that we know what model year you have when we look at the thread. If yours is before 07, I think that's the year the went to the MAP sensor by the air cleaner, then you have two lines for vacuum off the resonator. One of the lines comes off the valve cover and attaches to the lower left of the resonator. Its for the crank case vent and is about a 1/2" in diameter. If its on the upper right then thats the fuel pressure regulator and is about 1/8" in diameter. Hope this helps.
lol there's no vacuum line diagram because there's a sum total of about 3 lines. There's the big ones that go to the booster and evac, and one little one for the fuel pressure regulator. Think that's it. Show us a pic.

Complete engine vacuum diagram for 1978 403?

Hi All, Does anyone have a complete diagram of the vacuum hoses on a 1978 403? A previous owner has disconnected and/or removed most of the vacuum lines on my coach, so I'd like to put it back to original (including a TVS valve, and the vacuum control valve and solenoid valve if they are also good to have). I have seen several partial diagrams in the maintenance manual, but have not seen anything that includes all of the carb and manifold vacuum ports, and that also includes items such as the HVAC's vacuum line, the snorkel heat valve, and the trans kickdown. Does a complete diagram showing 'what goes where' exist? Thanks, -Dave 1978 Transmode near Pittsburgh
David, See if this meets your needs. The climate control panel switch that switches from Max AC, to Normal AC, to defrost, to heat, etc., controls vacuum lines. According to my trusty Haynes manual, for both pre and post 1994 Astros and Safaris, the climate control switch has an associated electrical switching network I had not noticed before.
Found the section of antenna that matched the o/d of the original hard vacuum line. Cut two pieces about 1 1/2" long from it with a dremel. Put the pieces in the fittings where each end of the hard line used to go. Used regular rubber vacuum hose to connect and voila, fixed forever.
A diagram of all the hoses in the system would really help me figure this out. I know there are a bunch of colored hoses that go to the A/C control panel and I would like to know how they work. I repaired brittle and broken hoses from the intake manifold to the spherical vacuum reservoir before, and I don't think they have failed again this soon.

The only remedy I can think of is to let a mechanic test the vacuum lines. If you have the time, check for old/cracked/dried vacuum lines/hoses. Especially where the lines connect. If dried/cracked, replace the vacuum lines/hoses. Also make sure the fitting of the hoses are not loose.
Anonymous. SOURCE: 2006 gmc canyon 3.5 inline 5 cyl. Not much of a vacuum diagram on this vehicle. Uses vacuum mainly for the EVAP system ( not a good source). Best bet would be to use a source that stems directly from the intake manifold. Good luck. Posted on Jul 07, 2008. Helpful 0.

Then one to the engine. There other diagrams that some vacuum lines go to the back of the intake manifold. Some say there is a vacuum motor.
