Depeche Mode Announce 29 Additional North American Dates on the Memento Mori World Tour
New Fall Shows Added in the US, Canada and Mexico
Depeche mode’s first tour in over five years kicks off march 23, 2023 in sacramento, ca.
Following the rapturous reception to their new single “Ghosts Again,” Depeche Mode have added a new Fall leg of North American tour dates to the Memento Mori Tour, which will support Memento Mori, their forthcoming studio album due out March 24. With the addition of these 29 new shows, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2020 inductees will now set out on a colossal 75-date tour — their 19th tour and their first in over five years.
The Live Nation-presented tour begins March 23 with a limited North American run featuring stops at New York’s Madison Square Garden, Chicago’s United Center, and Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. The band will then embark on their European stadium tour on May 16, with noted stops including the Stade de France in Paris, Berlin’s Olympic Stadium, Milan’s San Siro Stadium, and London’s Twickenham Stadium.
Following the end of the European summer run, the newly added tour dates bring the band back to North America in the Fall, with the tour stopping in Mexico City at Foro Sol before returning to the US and Canada. Newly announced tour stops include Austin’s Moody Center, Vancouver’s Rogers Arena, additional New York City shows at Madison Square Garden and Barclays Center, Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena and more, and concluding with a multi-night run in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum and Crypto.com Arena.
Pre-sales will kick off with a Fan Pre-sale on Tuesday, February 21, with the general on sale beginning Friday, February 24 at 10am local time. For further information on the tour routing and ticket on-sale dates, please visit depechemode.com . The full listing of dates, cities and venues is also below. On the Memento Mori Tour, the band will once again be partnering with luxury watchmaker Hublot to support charity endeavors tied to the tour.
Reception to the Memento Mori tour has been overwhelming with shows quickly selling out across Europe and North America, and over 1.5 million tickets already sold for the initial 46 shows. The tour is on track to be one of Depeche Mode’s largest to date and is also well on its way to being one of the largest worldwide tours of 2023. The tour will feature Depeche Mode favorites and rarities, alongside new songs from Memento Mori, including the new single ”Ghosts Again,” which has been heralded as “a melancholic and joyful ode” (Vulture), “hypnotic” (Rolling Stone), and “a gorgeous, haunting song” (Revolver). The beautifully stark and cinematic Anton Corbijn-directed video for “Ghosts Again” released on February 9th can be viewed at https://depechemode.lnk.to/GhostsAgain .
Having sold more than 100 million records and played to more than 35 million fans worldwide, Depeche Mode remains an ever-evolving and singularly influential musical force. An indelible inspiration to fans, critics and artists alike, Depeche Mode continues to forge ahead, with the Memento Mori album and tour representing the opening of the newest chapter of a peerless and ongoing legacy.

One of the most influential and highest-earning electronic acts in music history, Depeche Mode have enjoyed success for over 3 decades around the world.
Formed in the late 70’s in Essex, UK, the band transitioned from the early, ‘The Cure’ influenced work into synthesizer territory, inspired by the pioneering work of acts like ‘Orchestral Manoeuvers in the Dark’. The band settled on a name borrowed from a French fashion magazine and played their first gig in 1980 at their school.
The band began shopping their demo in the hope of securing a record deal, and after a verbal agreement with founder Daniel Miller, began an important partnership with fledgling label ‘Mute Records’. By their third single they had already appeared on Top of The Pops and landed a top 10 hit on the charts, all in the build up to their debut album ‘Speak & Spell’ which was released in 1981.
When founding member Vince Clark left later that year (going on to form Erasure amongst other things) the band held auditions and hired Alan Wilder who would go on to play a pivotal role as the band’s ‘Musical Director’ until his departure in the 90s.
By 1984 the band’s profile was building globally, first topping the charts in West Germany before packing out shows in the US. By the end of the 80s and moving into the 90s the band were an unstoppable global phenomenon with packed out stadium shows and platinum records.
Considered one of the most influential British acts of all the time, the band continue to release albums and with Mute records and pack shows all over.
Live reviews
The concert was amazing when it comes to the bands' performance. The guys are always amazing and I just love them! However, Eventimn really screwed up the whole organisation of the event. Since we were all informed beforehand, that no cash will be accepted as a method of payment inside the stadium, we had to buy tokens in advance. We waited 30 minutes in line for those, thank G we only bought 10 EUR worth of tokens and not more. Then we waited 1,5 hours in line for drinks in the pouring rain, while the band already started their performance. If we knew this would happenm we would have not bought the tokens in the first place and we could have enjoyed the whole concert, pouring rain or not. Also, until it was our turn in line, we learned that we could have paid cash as well which really pissed us off even more. The tokens were non-refundable so you either use them or throw your money away. But Depeche Mode was amazing, they even made us forget about the terrible weather conditions :) I just wish that we could have enjoyed the concert in full, without missing half of it dues to the poor organisation of Eventim.

Depeche Mode is one of the biggest electronic acts in the world and seeing them live is an incredible, unforgettable experience for any electronic music lover. They have enjoyed international success for over 3 decades now and continue to tour with as much passion and energy as when the act first started performing in the early 80s and when the band consisted of school kids. Depeche Mode is a group of talented, unstoppable show men with natural charisma and stage presence. Their wide catalogue of musical successes range from synth pop classics to more rockier, edgier sounds. The band played all their old favourites from the past decades as well as their newer music. Even without lead songwriter Vincent Clarke at the fore, Depeche Mode are still very much worth seeing live. Dave Gahan continues to astound on vocals whilst Martin Gore wows on a whole range of instruments, switching mid show from guitar to keyboards and joining in on vocals. Andy Fletcher makes up the last of the band on keyboards. The show was packed out with fans of all ages cheering along to the legendary band.
Hard to believe, but I've been going to DM shows for nearly thirty years, now (wasn't till I got to college that I found people who liked the music I liked *and* were willing to travel for live shows). As usual, DM put out a great effort - they definitely aren't still touring just because they need the money (they aren't just phoning it in).
That said, you can tell they've been at this for nearly three decades. As noted above, you could tell they were putting the effort into it, you can also tell that Father Time is a bastard. Gahan doesn't quite have the lyrical power he once did and Gore is starting to sound a bit reedy. That said, the errors in singing and playing let you know that they were actually on stage, belting it out and not relying on enhancements to the sound. The show was heavy on "the classics" (songs from the 85-95 period) - though they did rearrange most of them - mostly to good effect.
Expensive show (as everything at the Verizon Center - or whatever the hell it's called now - always seem to be), but generally worth it.

I had a great time at the Depeche Mode Concert. I enjoyed the whole concert experience. I loved every song, and the videos played in the background. The band has high energy. The concert was packed from the very young to the very old. What amazed me is how the very young knew all the lyrics to every song the band played. Any wild antics was from the fans. Some of the fans wore some very outlandish outfits. I think the band members like the style of their fans. There is lots of fan participation. You have to attend one concert to experience their talent and the excitement. You won't be sorry. I am so looking forward to the next concert. The concert goes by too fast and you wonder where the time went. The only bad thing was the concert wasn't long enough and had to end. I wanted the concert to go on forever.
I say please just try one concert. Once you attend one of their concerts, you will become a fan for life.
A good concert in general.
The best part was the hit parade from the "good old days" at the final half hour to fourty minutes.
Coming to the concert area there was a challange with the logistics taking a very long time with checking everybody before entering.
People where cuing for a very long time.
The Arena it self is and was very good, had a lot of conveniences and everything you need really.
They have the possibility to play with the roof covered or open and they had the roof on for the concert. At the end the temperature and atmosphere was high.
Depeche Mode is an established band with lots of fans so the concert was sold out and good, not perfect because it lost momentum and the audience had problems interacting with the new releases an latest songs.
We did not make it in time to see the opening act so I can't review that.
Worth seeing every time but not superb.
I would give it a 7 out of 10.
Absolute fantastic, we were FOS and close enough to see them Face to Face - i love that they arrange every Song a little different and so i discover more and more favorite Songs. Sound was brilliant and not to loud , stunning dance performance of Dave and we all love Martin taking the lead vocal sometimes. All over all they really support the feeling that they are bythemself full of Joy and Happiness - made us sing all the time - play my favorite Song 'A Pain i used to know' andd all what i want to hear - if i could wish one Song for the next concert it would be'The things you said' or 'Waiting for the Night' - anyhow 'never let me down (again) - is one of the heights of the Concert - you know this waving thing - with the arms ...will see them again.
22 years later after having been introduced to Depeche Mode, I find myself blessed and fortunate to have been able to attend this concert. This is literally one of my so called "Kick the Bucket Concerts" of all time, that I absolutely ,and without a doubt had to attend to! It was everything I thought it would be and much more! They sound the same even after so many years. It had been at least 16 years since I had been to the Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavilion and the entire night was a blast! Good, sound quality, light show and the Lawn area does bring back fond memories of my previous times! If you all have never seen Depeche Mode live in concert, I recommend you! The venue and the experience will be memorable for years to come!
Depeche Mode - RheinEnergie Stadium - Cologne -
05.06.2017 - The show was great! Dave was in a great mood and his voice was perfect. Martin was emotional and perfect, as usual. The sound was good, but I also had a great place - in front of the sound check booth. After the bad experience from Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, I will always try to stay close to the sound guy :). The location was great, just a big problem with the toilets - not enough and they also closed part of them before the end of the show and that created a chaos. As usual, the parking and getting out of the area takes long time after the show - but I guess it is normal. A draft beer was 5 EUR, but also a glass of water. Overall, it was a great show!
Depeche Mode - Manchester Arena fri 17/11/17
First time I've seen Depeche Mode live. It won't be the last I hope. I remember them from way back when, early 80's I think, yes I'm old!! The band are amazing, sound great & look great. Dave never stops moving around the stage, wish I had half of his energy!! They performed a mix of songs but mostly new ones from SPIRIT the new album. If you haven't got it yet, why not? Go out and get it!! But then towards the end of the show out came the crowds old favourites, but still sounding fresh to this day, and there was a good old sing a long!
Yes I will definitely go to see them again in the future. Highly recommended.

Depeche Mode Expand 2023 North American Tour
By Jazz Monroe
Depeche Mode have added a new haul of shows to the North American tour that begins next month. The extra dates kick off in Mexico in late summer and run through to mid-December, with stops in most major cities on the coasts and a few in between. See their full tour schedule below.
The tour, which includes a spot at Primavera 2023 , promotes new album Memento Mori , out March 24 via Columbia . It is the band’s first album in five years, and the first since the death last year of founding member Andy “Fletch” Fletcher. “Fletch would have loved this album,” Dave Gahan said in press materials. “We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.” Memento Mori follows Depeche Mode’s 2017 LP, Spirit . A single from the record, “ Ghosts Again ,” is out now.

Depeche Mode Returns With ‘Memento Mori’ Album, World Tour
The legendary band, now a duo, says some of their new songs "can't help but reflect" the absence of longtime member Andy Fletcher.
By Robert Levine
Robert Levine
BERLIN — Depeche Mode will return next year with a new album, Memento Mori , and a tour that’ll launch with 10 North America arena dates, followed by more than two dozen summer stadium shows in Europe. At a press conference at the Berliner Ensemble on Tuesday (Oct. 4), band members Dave Gahan and Martin Gore said that they started working on songs during the pandemic, and that they decided to continue as an act after keyboard player and co-founder Andy Fletcher died in May .
Trending on Billboard
The album isn’t completely done – recording is finished but the songs aren’t yet mixed – and Gahan and Gore said their next stop is New York, to wrap it up. It is due out around the time the tour begins.
5 Questions With Depeche Mode Ahead of Their Rock Hall Induction in 2020
At least one of the themes seems to be death – or at least the finiteness of life – as reflected by the title. “‘Memento Mori’ means ‘remember, you must die,'” Gahan said. So, Gore followed, “live each day to the max.”
In the studio, the two missed Fletcher. “We would miss Fletch,” Gahan says, “and some of these songs can’t help but reflect that.”
One of the first questions from the enthusiastic audience of journalists, associates and at least a few super-fans concerned existential issues. Then another journalist asked if the band might do some unplugged shows. After some nervous giggles in the audience, Gahan pointed out that “we can’t really unplug because we’re an electronic band.”
Everyone laughed.
“We could,” Gore added, “try battery packs.”

We “just can’t get enough” of Depeche Mode .
Thankfully, after a five-year hiatus from touring, the English synth-pop veterans are returning to the road for ten concerts on the North American leg of their stadium “Memento Mori Tour.”
That includes their final U.S. stop at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on April 14.
The tour , which shares a name with Depeche Mode’s upcoming new album, is also the group’s first after two monumental events for them— their 2020 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the untimely passing of keyboardist Andy “Fletch” Fletcher.
And although they aren’t going to replace Fletch, they will soldier on.
“The one thing I can do is make music with Martin (Gore),” frontman Dave Gahan told NME . He continued, “…hopefully that brings people together.”
So, if you need to “reach out and touch space,” follow our lead. We’ve got everything you need to know about the tour below.
Depeche Mode 2023 tour schedule
A complete calendar featuring all upcoming U.S. tour dates, venues, show start times and the lowest prices on tickets for each concert before fees can be found below.
(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time. All prices are subject to fluctuation and include additional fees at checkout .)
Vivid Seats is a verified secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
They offer a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure, and your tickets will be delivered prior to the event.
Depeche Mode new music
2023’s “Memento Mori” album is the group’s first since 2017’s “Spirit.”
In 2020, Gahan and Gore began writing music remotely for the upcoming record, and a lot of the material they penned reflected the dour feeling of the time— the album’s title translates to the heavy axiom “remember you must die.”
Their collaborative style was also a product of the quarantine era.
The two would send song ideas back and forth. In an interview with Billboard , Gore shared, “I played guitar and sort of sang on my iPhone,” and Gahan “sent it back with his angelic voice.”
At the time of publication, the group is yet to release any music from “Memento Mori.”
Huge rock tours in 2023
A handful of major rockers are slated to go hard next year, hitting arenas and stadiums all over the U.S.
Here are five of our favorite can’t-miss acts you have to see to believe that just might be stopping into a city near you in the coming months.
• Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
• Metallica
• Red Hot Chili Peppers
• Muse
• Arctic Monkeys

Depeche Mode Closes Out 2023 With Moving Return Of ‘Memento Mori Tour’ To L.A. [Photos/Videos]
Depeche Mode is unquestionably one of England’s most iconic acts of the last half-century. But these synth-rock stars wouldn’t likely be where and what they are today—let alone have revolutionized modern music the way they did—without Los Angeles.
It was in the City of Angels, with its thriving LGBTQIA+ community, that Dave Gahan , Martin Gore , Andy Fletcher , and Vince Clarke broke out as bona fide global superstars. Their concert at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena back in June 1988, with 60,000 attendees, was a seminal moment in the band’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame career.
Given that unbreakable bond between band and city, it was only fitting that Depeche Mode closed out the North American legs of its Memento Mori Tour —and its 2023 calendar as a whole—in L.A. And not just with one show, but four: two at the Kia Forum and two more at Crypto.com Arena . This, after selling out the Forum back in March, near the start of their latest go-round.
Like that show, Depeche Mode’s latest trip to L.A. on Saturday at the Crypto.com Arena came, unfortunately, without Fletch. The founding member and long-time keyboardist passed away in May 2022, before the band recorded its latest album, Memento Mori . But not before Fletch had a chance to help write the songs that comprised Depeche Mode’s 2023 release. In that way, this tour and this particular performance were a tribute to Fletch.
The set began with a pair of singles off the new release, “My Cosmos is Mine” and “Wagging Tongue”, and went on to loop in more Memento Mori favorites, including “My Favourite Stranger” and “Ghosts Again” mid-set. That quartet of tracks came in second among featured Depeche Mode albums, just behind 1990’s seminal Violator with five. Among that latter group was “World Through My Eyes,” which was dedicated to Fletch and included images of him as a backdrop.
Not surprisingly, “Enjoy the Silence”, “Waiting for the Night”, and “Personal Jesus” all made the cut, either to close the main set or fill the encore. “Policy of Truth” clocked in during the first quarter of the 24-song show.
Depeche Mode brought to bear plenty of other staples of its repertoire, as well. From “Walking in My Shoes” and “Everything Counts” to “John the Revelator” and “Just Can’t Get Enough”, the band made sure to plumb every era for tunes to keep the packed house on its collective feet.
Along the way, Dave danced and twirled across the stage (and between costume changes), Christian Eigner kept the beat on drums and Peter Gordeno , who has toured with the band since 1998, held down the keyboard with aplomb. Martin did a little of everything, as is his wont. He filled in for some of Fletch’s parts on keys, sang his heart out on “But Not Tonight” and, of course, wailed the rest of the night away on guitar.
And together, they treated a fan named Martha to a rendition of “Happy Birthday”—their only cover of the evening. Not that Depeche Mode needs to pay real tribute to its forebears at this point. Their influence spreads far and wide, with Muse , The Killers , Nine Inch Nails , Shakira , No Doubt , Linkin Park , Coldplay , Chvrches , Rammstein , and La Roux among an exceedingly eclectic cast.
That sonic crusade doesn’t figure to end any time soon. Depeche Mode has dates lined up across Europe through the winter and spring of 2024, starting with a handful of U.K. concerts in January. Those first shows of the new year will serve as an official homecoming for one of Great Britain’s greatest bands.
But, in truth, this tour has already been a rousing success for arguably their most ardent base of support in L.A., with five spectacular shows in town to prove it.
