The Best Apple Wireless Charging Stations for Multiple Devices

A three in one Apple charger in use shown next to a cup of coffee

If you’re in the Apple ecosystem, there’s a good chance you’re all in: iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods. One way to keep each of these devices powered is to run three cords to three adapters—but the best way is to use a single charging station. If you have an older iPhone, Mophie’s 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand is the best charging station, offering fast wireless power for all your Apple gear (well, except for your MacBook and iPad) in a tidy, convenient design that’s worth the price. And if you’ve upgraded to an iPhone 12 or 13 with Apple’s MagSafe charging and mounting system, don’t worry—we have a pick for you, as well .

Everything we recommend

Apple MagSafe Duo Charger

The best charging station for frequent travelers.

This is the most portable charger you can get for an iPhone and Apple Watch, and it charges at the iPhone’s maximum rate, but unlike our other picks it can’t charge three devices at the same time.

The Mophie 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand is the best way to wirelessly charge an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods every day, provided you own a handset from the iPhone 8 through 11 series. Rather than requiring you to precisely line up your phone on a flat pad for charging, as many other wireless charging stations do, the Mophie offers an angled stand that makes proper alignment practically foolproof. The cross-shaped AirPods divot properly fits either the basic or Pro headphones case, and the Apple Watch charger puts the display in landscape orientation so that you can utilize Nightstand Mode . Mophie’s dock charges a little quicker than other non-MagSafe charging stations, and none of its competitors offer such a great combination of features at a comparable price. (However, if you have an iPhone 12 or later, you should consider upgrading to a MagSafe-compatible wireless charging station like the Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 or the Apple MagSafe Duo Charger , either of which provides faster charging and is easier to align.)

The Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe provides full 15 W MagSafe charging and the best ease of use of any charging station we’ve tested, making it the best option if you have an iPhone 12 or later. Rather than lying on a flat pad or against an angled stand, your iPhone “floats” on a raised magnetic mount in whatever position you choose. Because the phone locks magnetically into place, there’s no way to misalign it, so you’ll never have to worry if your phone is actually going to charge. The dock’s design looks more sculptural than techy, with a round base and an angled metal stalk that branches off to hold your iPhone and Apple Watch. Belkin’s charger comes with the wall adapter, so everything you need is in the box, and its two-year warranty also covers your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods if something goes wrong while they’re charging.

A charging station with room for three devices is ideal for your nightstand, but if you want something more compact to take with you while traveling, the Apple MagSafe Duo Charger is the best choice. The MagSafe Duo fits in the palm of your hand when folded up, and it’s as thick as an iPhone in a case. Compared with most wireless charging stations, that’s tiny. It will also charge your iPhone 12 or 13 faster than any non-MagSafe multi-device wireless charger—at the full 15 W that MagSafe allows—and thanks to the magnetic alignment system, you don’t have to worry about lining it up properly for charging. If you have an older, Qi-compatible iPhone, it’s still the only travel-friendly multi-device wireless charger you can get, though you won’t see MagSafe charging speeds. It does make a couple of trade-offs: First, it has just two charging spots—one for an iPhone (or an AirPods case) and one for an Apple Watch. Second, it doesn’t come with a power brick; if you buy a 20-watt power adapter (which is required for the fastest charging speeds), that brings the price up by $15 to $20.

The research

Why you should trust us, who this is for, how we picked, how we tested, our pick: mophie 3-in-1 wireless charging stand, flaws but not dealbreakers, also great: belkin boost charge pro 3-in-1 wireless charger with magsafe, also great: apple magsafe duo charger, other good apple wireless charging stations, what to look forward to, the competition.

I’ve been reviewing mobile accessories since 2012, and I’ve been covering them for Wirecutter since 2015. I’m also the author of Wirecutter’s guides to USB wall chargers and car chargers , for which I’ve seen and tested pretty much every available charging variation.

I researched and wrote Wirecutter’s first guide to Qi wireless chargers in 2017, and I have continued testing new models and updating that guide. I also wrote our guide to Qi power banks , battery packs that use the same wireless technology.

These charging bases are designed for people who own multiple Apple devices—namely, an iPhone, an Apple Watch, and AirPods—and want to charge all of them at once, presumably overnight. Like single-device Qi chargers , these three-in-one chargers work without your having to plug cords into any of your devices.

Qi (pronounced “chee”) is the wireless-charging standard from the Wireless Power Consortium, an industry group with more than 500 members, including device manufacturers such as Apple and Samsung, as well as accessory makers such as Foxconn (Belkin’s parent company) and Mophie. For a charger to be certified by the WPC, the manufacturer has to submit it to an authorized test lab . All iPhones since the iPhone 8—even the iPhone 12 and 13 series with MagSafe—use a version of Qi charging.

If you want the fastest possible charge for your iPhone, you need to use a cable—going wireless is about convenience, not speed. Affordable, wired 20 W USB-PD chargers paired with a USB-C–to–Lightning cable are about 30% faster than the fastest wireless chargers.

The other downside to wireless charging is that you can’t pick up your phone and use it while it’s charging, as you can with a charging cable. This limitation makes a wireless option better for recharging overnight or when you want to see the phone’s display on your desk or in the kitchen, rather than while you’re watching Netflix, say, or scrolling through Twitter.

Apple first stoked the desire for this kind of accessory when it announced its AirPower charging station in late 2017. The flat pad was supposed to be able to charge an iPhone, an Apple Watch, and AirPods all at once, no matter where you placed them on the pad. Ultimately, Apple pulled the plug on the project in early 2019.

In 2020, however, the company introduced its MagSafe charging and magnetic mounting system as part of the iPhone 12 lineup. Hidden magnets inside the phone allow you to connect supported accessories and charge at up to 15 watts, in contrast to 7.5 watts with other Qi chargers. The magnets also ensure proper alignment, so you don’t have to worry about your phone being out of place and not charging properly. You can find non-MagSafe-branded magnetic chargers, too, but they can’t take advantage of the faster charging speeds that MagSafe allows.

A good wireless charger should meet all of the following basic criteria, which we used as guidelines for our research:

  • WPC and MFi certification: We considered only those chargers that have been certified by the WPC . This means that a charger has been tested and found to be both safe and in compliance with the Qi standard. If a wireless charger isn’t certified, that doesn’t necessarily indicate it’s unsafe or noncompliant—but choosing something that has been verified is prudent. The same can be said for MFi certification, which is Apple’s own program that supplies the hardware components for licensed accessories and applies specifically to the charging puck and MagSafe components.
  • Charging speed: Most of the chargers we tested advertised 7.5 W charging for iPhones; MagSafe chargers support 15 W. We weren’t concerned about the 10 W charging that some Android phones support because people are unlikely to use an Android phone alongside an Apple Watch.
  • Design: We considered not only how the charging pad looked but also how grippy the surface was for holding a phone in place, how easily we could align devices with the charging coils, and where the watch sat (some band styles may prevent AirPods from aligning properly, for example, depending on the design). We also noted any extras, such as charging or placement indicator lights.
  • Noise: Some wireless chargers emit a faint (and sometimes not so faint) whine or clicking noise, which can quickly become annoying. We listened for this in our tests.
  • Maker: We considered models only from companies that we knew had a good reputation for warranty coverage and customer support. Even if a charger is WPC certified, there are no guarantees it will never have a problem, and you should be able to get help if you need that.

We tested the performance of each wireless charging base by placing an iPhone 13 with a fully drained battery on the charging pad. We measured the phone’s battery level after 30 minutes of charging and then again after one hour. A good Qi charger should fully charge any phone in a few hours (and certainly will overnight), so we focused on differences in short-term charging. I first tested everything at my desk, but if I heard a sound that could be annoying, I also tested the charger in my bedroom at night, sleeping with it positioned a couple of feet from my head to see if the noise would interfere with my sleep.

A Mophie 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand shown charging three devices

The Mophie 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand is the best choice if you have an iPhone that uses regular Qi wireless charging (iPhone 8 through 11) and you want a single charging station that can power your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods at the same time. It charges such iPhones just as quickly as any other non-MagSafe multi-device charger we’ve tested, and it’s better designed to accommodate all three devices thanks to a stand-style phone charger and a cross-shaped divot that snugly accommodates both styles of the AirPods charging case. These thoughtful design touches make it easy for you to align the respective devices so that they charge properly. Similarly, the placement of the Apple Watch charger conveniently allows you to use the watch as an alarm clock.

We’ve found through testing single-device Qi chargers that we prefer angled, stand-style chargers that hold the phone upright, for two reasons: You can more easily align the phone properly so that it actually charges, and you can more comfortably look at the screen while the handset is charging. The Mophie 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand and the Logitech Powered 3-in-1 Dock rank among the first models to bring that raised-charger design to multi-device power stations. We found that the angle made an appreciable difference in everyday use, especially at night and in the dark. It’s not impossible (or even necessarily difficult, with practice) to line up a phone on a flat charger, but it’s certainly easier to place a phone on a stand that keeps the device in the right position. The stand makes things so foolproof, you can do it by feel without even looking.

A close up of a rubber-lined divot for an AirPods Pro case

To the right of the phone charger is the Apple Watch charging puck, and to the left, a cross-shaped indentation for your AirPods or AirPods Pro case, ensuring a precise hold no matter which version of the headphones you use. Other Qi charging stations require you to align the AirPods case properly on a flat surface or in a round divot that doesn’t perfectly cradle the AirPods case as Mophie’s does, and that task can be difficult, especially without a clear visual guide. Mophie’s design allows the case to just nestle in, making charging the AirPods so simple that it’s extremely unlikely you’ll ever head to work with dead headphones.

Apple certifies only those Apple Watch chargers that use Apple-approved charging pucks, which this Mophie model does. That means it’s as safe as any first-party Apple charger for charging any Apple Watch. It works with open or closed bands and holds the watch in landscape orientation. Both the 40 mm and 44 mm watch sizes sit low enough that, if you’re using your Apple Watch’s Nightstand Mode, you can press its Digital Crown to snooze an alarm without knocking the watch off the charger. It’s a thoughtful design decision that makes the charging station more useful.

None of the iPhone and Apple Watch combo charging stations we tested filled up the phone’s battery quite as quickly as the fastest single-device charging stands we’ve tried. Since this combined charger is slower, we think it’s best for a nightstand, where, assuming you’ll be charging overnight, the slower charging rate won’t be as big of a concern. The Mophie charger powered our iPhone 13 to about 23% full battery after half an hour and 50% after an hour. Our Apple Watch Series 7 (45mm), also starting at zero, got to 23% battery capacity after a half hour and 55% after an hour.

Battery charging results on the Mophie 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand

The Mophie charger has a notably basic design. It’s an 8-by-4-inch rounded rectangle with a body primarily made of glossy black plastic. Rubber feet on the bottom prevent it from sliding around. It lacks the heaviness that you might expect high-quality materials to have, but that doesn’t affect performance. Indicator lights on the front of the charger (underneath the phone-charging stand) show whether your phone and AirPods, respectively, are charging. The lights are not terribly bright, and they turn off after a few seconds.

The power cord that you plug into the back of the Mophie 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand uses a round, barrel-style connection instead of Micro-USB or USB-C, so it won’t be as easy to replace if something goes wrong or you lose it. Mophie offers a two-year warranty on its charger and says it generally replaces the entire product rather than individual pieces under the warranty.

If you have an iPhone 12 or later and want to take advantage of the easier alignment and faster charging that the MagSafe charging system allows, consider one of our other picks below.

After we experienced intermittent charging issues while using the 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand with an iPhone 12 Pro in a MagSafe case, we reached out to Mophie, who confirmed that this is a known issue with some iPhone 12-series phones. The company has implemented a firmware update that should resolve the issue for all iPhones, and those affected should contact customer service for a replacement. If you have an iPhone 12 or 13, we think you should get the Belkin charger anyway. But if you’ve already invested in the Mophie charger and are having issues, seek a replacement. In the meantime, we’ve found removing the case can help resolve the issue.

A close up of fingerprints and dust on a 3-in-2 wireless charging stand

Unlike other models, this Mophie charger can work only with the specific combination of a phone, an Apple Watch, and AirPods; that is, you can’t use the AirPods charging spot for a second phone.

The charger’s glossy surface collects more fingerprints than a detective. If that’s the kind of thing that bothers you, this model may not be the right pick for you. Both the Logitech Powered 3-in-1 Dock and the Belkin Boost Charge 3-in-1 Wireless Charger , our former top pick, are better options in that case.

Belkin’s Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe shown charging an iPhone, an Apple Watch, and Apple AirPods.

Belkin’s Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe should be your first choice if you have an iPhone 12 or 13–series phone. It’s one of the first third-party chargers to incorporate Apple’s MagSafe feature, and it’s the best implementation of the feature we’ve seen so far. Not only is attaching your phone impossible to mess up, but the dock also supports the fastest iPhone wireless charging speeds, and it’s the best-looking option. The Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 costs about the same as our top pick from Mophie, and it comes with a wall adapter, unlike Apple’s MagSafe Duo Charger . Belkin’s two-year warranty covers both the charger and connected devices.

MagSafe offers two major benefits: perfect alignment and fast, 15 W charging speeds. Although you can find plenty of magnetic chargers for sale that work like MagSafe, the Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 is officially licensed by Apple, meaning it can take full advantage of these features. In contrast, non-licensed models may hold your phone properly but won’t charge at full speed.

Most comparable charging stations require you to lay your phone on a flat pad or an angled stand that conceals a Qi charging coil. The Belkin dock holds your phone in the air, attached to a magnetic charging puck, with its center about 4½ inches above the 5¼-inch round, soft-touch rubber-covered base. A circular indentation in the center of the base lets you charge your AirPods (or another phone, albeit at a slow, 5 W charging rate). A forward-angled metal stalk behind it branches off and terminates to the left with the phone charger and to the right with the Apple Watch puck.

The Belkinn MagSafe charging station, shown without devices using it to charge.

As long as you’re using aa MagSafe-compatible phone—either without a case or with a MagSafe-compatible case —you can’t misalign your phone. You can turn it in any orientation without disrupting its charging. The sturdy base ensures that you can tap your phone without the charging station sliding around, and its rubbery underside provides enough grip that you can easily pull the device off with one hand without the dock moving. The Apple Watch charger works much the same way and supports any kind of watch band.

At this point, only Apple-licensed magnetic chargers can support 15 W speeds; models like the Mophie 3-in-1 are limited to 7.5 W. But although the Belkin charges at a faster clip than the Mophie, it’s not twice as fast in practice, as you might expect from reading those numbers. Across three tests on the Belkin, our iPhone 13 charged from 0% to an average of 37% in half an hour and 68% in an hour, versus its results of 23% and 47%, respectively, on the Mophie. Those numbers match what we’ve seen from Apple’s own MagSafe accessories, and they’re as fast as you’re going to get in charging your devices wirelessly.

Not only does the Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 work well, but it looks great, too. It’s available in either black or white, and both versions have a matte finish that doesn’t show fingerprints like the Mophie model’s glossy surface does. It looks more like a modern sculpture than a tech gadget. If there’s a downside to the design, it’s the rather bright white light on the base that indicates when that particular charger is in use. Light-sensitive sleepers might not love that light in their bedroom.

Belkin offers a two-year connected equipment warranty , covering not only the charger itself but also up to $2,500 in costs “for the repair or replacement of connected equipment damaged from surges or spikes that occur when they are properly connected to a Belkin product.” Having a two-year warranty on the dock itself is already pretty good, but that extra protection offers real peace of mind.

Apple Magsafe duo charging an iPhone 12 and Apple watch simultaneously

Our other picks are better options if you plan to charge your gear at your bedside, but if you travel a lot (or hope to in the future), consider Apple’s MagSafe Duo Charger . This iPhone and Apple Watch charger is far smaller than any other charging station when in use, and it folds in half to take up even less space in your bag or a pocket. Because it uses Apple’s MagSafe charging system, the iPhone 12 and 13-series phone will charge faster on this model than with any non-MagSafe wireless charger, and they’ll magnetically snap into place so you don’t have to fuss with alignment. Even for a multi-device wireless charger, it’s a relatively expensive option, considering it doesn’t come with an AC adapter; since it has only two charging spots, it can charge either your phone or your AirPods, not both at the same time. But it’s the only wireless charging station that’s practical to take on the go.

The first thing that sets the MagSafe Duo Charger apart from every other wireless charging station is its compact size. Coated in soft-touch rubber, the charger consists of two 2.8-inch rounded squares with a thin hinge connecting them; you can fold it up when you aren’t using it, and the magnets hold it shut. The left square is the MagSafe phone charger, which can also charge AirPods or any other Qi-compatible device, and the right side is the Apple Watch charging puck, which you can use flat or folded up for Nightstand Mode. Opened up, the charger is roughly the width of an iPhone 12 or 13 and just a little taller. Folded, it’s about 0.6 inch thick, roughly the size of a makeup compact.

White Magsafe duo sitting closed next to an iPhone 12

The other important feature is MagSafe, which magnetically locks compatible phones in place and also allows for faster iPhone charging than on traditional Qi chargers like our Mophie pick. It supports 15-watt charging speeds on the iPhone 12/13, 12 Pro/13 Pro, and 12 Pro Max/13 Pro Max, and 12-watt charging on the iPhone 12 mini/13 mini. In our tests, the MagSafe Duo Charger was just as fast as the Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 and notably faster than the Mophie 3-in-1 , our next-fastest pick: A fully drained iPhone 13 reached 34% battery capacity in 30 minutes and 69% in an hour, even when an Apple Watch was charging at the same time. (Apple also sells a stand-alone MagSafe phone charger, but it’s no faster than the MagSafe Duo Charger.) You can charge older iPhones and other Qi-compatible devices on this model, as well, but you don’t get the same speeds or the magnetic attachment.

The MagSafe Duo Charger typically costs $130, and that price doesn’t include the 20-watt adapter you need to get the fastest charging speeds; buying that accessory brings the total price to $150, about the same as for our other picks. That’s a lot to ask for a charger that offers one fewer charging pad. But we’d never even consider traveling with one of those other chargers, whereas the MagSafe Duo Charger could be convenient if and when we ever travel again.

If you are a frequent traveler , you might like the Anker PowerWave Go 3-in-1 Stand . Its modular design makes it more useful than any other charging station we’ve seen because you can add or remove just the parts you need. The phone charging stand is actually a 10,000mAh (37Wh) wireless power bank that you can take with you for portable power, and its 20 W USB-C port can charge most phones at their fastest speeds. The Apple Watch charger is removable as well, with a USB-C connector that means it can get power from the power bank, the USB-C port on your computer, or any other USB-C charger . And the wall adapter is Anker’s Nano II 45W , which (with the included USB-C-to-USB-C cable) can be used to charge many other devices as quickly as possible, including laptops and tablets. But while these individual pieces are all exciting, they contribute to a particularly high asking price of around $180 (at the time of this writing). Despite the steep cost, the PowerWave Go 3-in-1 Stand is also slower at wireless charging than our picks, charging an iPhone 12 to 17% in 30 minutes and 33% in 60 minutes, compared to 22% and 42% from our top pick from Mophie. For most people, we think it makes sense to stick with our simpler, cheaper, and quicker picks for standard bedside or desk charging.

If you want to be able to charge two phones at once , the Logitech Powered 3-in-1 Dock is a good alternative to the Mophie 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand. Like our top pick, it has a stand-style charger for your phone and an Apple Watch charging puck. The third charging spot is flat, allowing you to power either AirPods or another phone. But the Logitech’s main charger was a little slower than that of the Mophie in our testing, it’s harder to line up an AirPods case without a dedicated divot, and this larger charging station doesn’t look as nice as our top pick.

We’re planning a new round of testing for the spring of 2023, which will pit our current picks against the following models:

  • Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe
  • Anker 533 Wireless Charger (3-in-1 Stand)
  • Anker 544 Wireless Charger (4-in-1 Stand)
  • Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand 2nd Gen (WIZ017)
  • Einova Power Bar
  • ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with CryoBoost
  • HyperJuice 4-in-1 Wireless Charger
  • Mophie 3-in-1 Stand for MagSafe Charger
  • Mophie 3-in-1 Travel Charger with MagSafe
  • OtterBox 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station for MagSafe (78-80533)
  • Satechi 3-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand
  • Satechi Duo Wireless Charger Power Stand

We’re also excited about a new wireless charging standard called Qi2 that the World Power Consortium (WPC) introduced in January 2023. Apple allowed its proprietary MagSafe technology to be used as the basis for Qi2’s key feature, called the Magnetic Power Profile. Like MagSafe, the WPC says this feature uses magnets to “ensure that phones or other rechargeable battery-powered mobile products are perfectly aligned with charging devices, thus providing improved energy efficiency and faster charging.” We look forward to testing some Qi2-compliant devices from a variety of companies as they start to roll out later this year.

Nomad’s Base Station Hub with Magnetic Alignment packs in three 10W charging coils, an 18W USB-C port, and a 7.5W USB-A port; either of those ports can be paired with an optional Apple Watch Mount and your own Apple Watch charging cable if you’d like to charge your Watch. The biggest difference between this version and past Base Stations is the promise of magnetic alignment, which should work with MagSafe-equipped iPhones. Unfortunately, the magnet is quite weak in our experience. You have to move your phone around to search for it on the blank surface, unlike with true MagSafe accessories that make alignment foolproof. The charging pad is not sized properly for the iPhone 13 Pro; the phone’s raised camera bump prevents it from laying flat enough to make the necessary magnetic connection. While the iPhone 13 mini’s dimensions allow the magnets to make a connection, it’s still weaker than if the phone were able to lie totally flat.

Belkin’s Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with MagSafe is a flat, three-device charging station, and one of the first non-Apple products to support fast charging with the Apple Watch Series 7 (the other is a standalone Watch charger also from Belkin). We don’t care for the flat design; it takes up more room on your nightstand and leaves your phone flat, rather than propped up at an angle, and our tests showed this model charged an iPhone 13 more slowly than our picks from Belkin and Apple.

The Scosche Base3 3-In-1 Wireless Charging Dock has a traditional Qi stand rather than a MagSafe charger, and is less expensive than our picks. But it charges quite slowly—our drained iPhone 13 got to 15% in half an hour and 30% in an hour—and the all-plastic design isn’t as nice. It’s worth considering if you’re on a tighter budget.

Belkin’s Boost Charge 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is our former top pick, and it’s still a good choice. But the biggest downside is its AirPods charging spot: Instead of a divot that matches the size and shape of the charging case, the spot is a round indentation, which makes alignment the slightest bit more difficult. The spot is also located right behind the Apple Watch charger, so if you’re using a closed-band loop—such as the Solo Loop Apple introduced in 2020—you need to fuss with the placement to ensure that the AirPods don’t get knocked out of place.

The ESR HaloLock 2-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charger is a flat pad with two charging spaces. One is a standard Qi charger, and the other is magnetic, allowing it to grab MagSafe-equipped iPhones and cases. Because it’s not an officially licensed MagSafe charger, it’s slower than the Belkin and Apple models we list, but it’s just as fast as other third-party magnetic chargers. In our tests, it brought a fully depleted iPhone 12 battery to 22% in 30 minutes and 48% in an hour. The lack of an Apple Watch charger knocks it out of contention for this guide, although we do appreciate the particularly low price. At the time of publication, it costs $30, and that includes a 18 W USB-C charger.

The Zens Liberty Wireless Charger Glass Edition was the first “place anywhere” wireless charger available to buy, and compared with all the other charging stations we’ve tested, it more closely matches what Apple originally promised with the AirPower station. It has 16 overlapping charging coils, all visible through a clear glass top, and those coils allow you to position two phones or other Qi-charging devices pretty much anywhere on its surface aside from the very edges. This design makes placement almost foolproof, solving one of wireless charging’s biggest drawbacks. We also like that the Liberty uses USB-C instead of a proprietary charger. But it has its downsides. The Liberty is large and expensive (a cheaper version without a glass top is available), it has loud fans that kick on when you’re charging a phone, and it doesn’t support Apple Watch charging without a $45 accessory . So although it’s a neat proof of concept, it’s best suited for early adopters willing to spend extra cash to have the coolest new tech toy.

Nomad’s Base Station Pro is similar in concept to the Zens Liberty though a bit more refined, with a slimmer and sleeker aluminum and leather design. Consisting of 18 charging coils under a roughly 5-by-9-inch surface, it’s made to charge up to three Qi devices at once, no matter where you place them. The Base Station Pro claims to power iPhones at 7.5 watts and all other devices at up to 5 watts, which means that non-Apple devices may not charge at their top speeds. But in our tests, charging was pretty slow across the board, with the iPhone 11 averaging only about 15% in half an hour and 26% in an hour, and the LG V30 hitting 9% and 16% over the same periods. Those numbers for the V30 are particularly low, but the Base Station Pro likely produced such results because it hasn’t been optimized for most Android devices yet; firmware updates may change that down the line. Rather than speed, Nomad and its partner Aira, which designed the charging technology, say the Base Station Pro’s major value proposition is convenience. It’s certainly true that you can very easily throw a phone (or three) onto the pad without worrying about lining them up perfectly, but that convenience isn’t worth the premium price: The Base Station Pro currently costs $200, or $60 more than our top pick. It’s not that hard to get your phone in the right spot with a conventional three-in-one charging pad. We hope that this technology advances quickly and falls in price, but it’s not something that most people should invest in right now.

Mophie’s 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad is another previous favorite and remains a good choice. We like its simple, clean aesthetics and its attention to detail—including features such as rubber elements that ensure your devices won’t slip and a divot for AirPods. But we prefer the stand-style charger of our current picks over this Mophie flat design, and this charger is also a total fingerprint magnet, much like the screen of an iPhone or iPad.

Native Union’s Drop XL Wireless Charger (Watch Edition) has a small footprint and is the least techy-looking of the chargers we tested. Thanks to the neutral gray fabric and rubber surface, it doesn’t scream “gadget” like much of the competition does, and it quickly charged everything we placed on its surface. Aligning AirPods can be difficult because the Drop XL has no clear marking, but other than that, it has no major faults that would prevent us from recommending it if you like the way it looks.

Satechi’s Trio Wireless Charging Pad was just a little slower than our picks in charging both phones we tested. It’s a flat charger, so lining a phone up on the raised rubber ring is slightly harder compared with using a stand, and it takes up a few more square inches on a desk, but we do like the AirPods divot, the fold-up Apple Watch puck (which can also work flat), and the USB-C charger.

The Zens Dual+Watch Aluminum Wireless Charger is a good alternative multi-device charger, particularly if you charge two phones at once on occasion. It charges devices quickly and looks quite nice. But lining up the AirPods case is difficult without any markings or a dedicated divot, and even getting a phone into the right position can take a bit of finagling.

We were excited about STM’s ChargeTree as an affordable alternative to the $100-plus chargers out there, but it turned out to be a rebranded version of a generic design. (We’ve seen at least two other companies serving Instagram ads selling the same thing.) That alone wouldn’t necessarily be disqualifying, but the ChargeTree isn’t MFi-certified, and it doesn’t come with an AC adapter. Taking all those factors together, we can’t recommend it.

Now that every newly available iPhone supports wireless charging (with the exception of the budget-minded iPhone SE), there are more charging stations than ever in various sizes, shapes, and price points. The main differences between them are their layout and how many devices they can charge simultaneously. Whether you need your devices powered at your desk or on your nightstand , a charging station is a must-have accessory for anyone who owns multiple Apple devices—these are our favorites.

The 3-in-1 MagSafe Wireless Stand is the perfect solution for anyone who needs to charge their iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch. It features a sturdy base with a charging pad for AirPods, plus two stainless steel arms with a MagSafe charger for your iPhone (left) and a magnetic charging pad for your Apple Watch (right). The overall aesthetic has a timeless feel, allowing it to fit with all types of decor.

Adding to its cool factor is the ability to charge an iPhone in portrait or landscape, giving you the flexibility to use StandBy mode if you want. Bonus: It has an LED light on board that will indicate if the charging station is powering your devices as intended. Belkin’s 3-in-1 comes with a wall charger, so you don’t need to buy one separately. Unfortunately, the wall adapter is large and can take up a lot of space on a power strip, so you’ll need to plan accordingly.

Anker’s 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe is a compact and versatile charging station for your various Apple devices. You can choose to charge your iPhone flat or elevated, with the angled position being ideal for using StandBy mode in iOS 17, a feature that turns your phone into a smart display. Underneath the MagSafe dock, you’ll find a dedicated spot for charging your AirPods or other compatible wireless earbuds. Finally, the right side hides a retractible Apple Watch charging pad.

The Cube’s design makes it ideal for saving space. It blends well with your surroundings when not in use, looking more like a decorative piece than a tech accessory. The compact size also makes Anker’s 3-in-1 charging pad a suitable option for travel. Not every charging station comes with a wall adapter, but Anker conveniently includes a 30-watt USB-C charger, so you can start powering your devices right out of the box.

Our only gripe is that the retractable charger only lies flat, so it isn’t ideal for using the Apple Watch in Nightstand mode. As it’s a 3-in-1 charger, however, you’ll likely angle the MagSafe pad when your iPhone is charging, so the lack of a vertical Apple Watch stand isn’t a major drawback.

Nomad has a reputation for making some of the best-looking tech accessories out there, and the brand’s Base One Max is the pinnacle of well-designed wireless charging stations. It’s crafted with metal and glass and features a satisfying heft, so it stays firmly planted on the surface where it’s placed. This not only ensures stability when grabbing your phone but also exudes a sense of quality and sophistication that complements any modern workspace or nightstand.

While the build quality of the Base One Max is undeniable, its premium design comes at a premium price. It’s by far the most expensive option on this list, making it a statement piece for those who really care about the quality of the things they buy. It’s also worth noting that the Base One Max is the only charging station on this list that doesn’t come with a bundled wall adapter, further adding to the cost.

Many of the charging stations on this list are sophisticated 3-in-1 models that allow you to charge three Apple devices simultaneously. Belkin’s 2-in-1 MagSafe Wireless Charging Pad is a more streamlined and affordable option that’s perfect for anyone who owns an iPhone and AirPods. This model features a more traditional lay-flat design—simply plop your devices down onto their respective spots and that’s it. Even better: There’s an extra USB-C port to plug in an Apple Watch charger.

While the design is relatively basic, the charging pad offers a few modern flourishes. It supports the newest Qi2 standard, ensuring consistent alignment and the fastest possible wireless charging for your iPhone. It also has a built-in LED that lets you know your device’s charging status. And although it’s not specifically designed for travel, Belkin’s compact lay-flat design makes it easy to throw in a bag.

Twelve South’s new Butterfly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger feels like a spiritual successor to Apple’s discontinued MagSafe Duo. But Twelve South’s solution is more elegant and functional, featuring two aluminum-clad charging pads—one 15-watt MagSafe charger for an iPhone and a fast charger for an Apple Watch—tethered by a vegan-leather strap.

What elevates the Butterfly above the MagSafe Duo is that Twelve South’s charger features magnets on both sides of the charging pads. When folded together, the magnets keep the Butterfly securely closed, protecting the charging pads during travel. Unfold it back-to-back and the charger can be propped up, allowing you to display your iPhone in StandBy mode.

When your iPhone is finished charging, the wireless pad can top up your AirPods. Meanwhile, your purchase comes with four international plug adapters, perfect for those who frequently travel.

This 3-in-1 MagSafe-compatible charger from Mophie is an ideal solution for frequent travelers who own an iPhone, AirPods, and an Apple Watch. It can fold up to the size of a compact mirror, making it easy to pack into your purse or backpack. To top off its travel credibility, it comes with a felt carrying pouch, making it easy to stow away when you’re on the go.

As with other options on this list, a USB-C cable and 30-watt wall adapter are included, so you’re ready to go right out of the box. Compared with our most compact pick, Twelve South’s Butterfly , Mophie’s travel charger can power three devices simultaneously. It can’t prop up your iPhone for StandBy, but in terms of convenience, it’s an excellent travel companion thanks to its 3-in-1 design.

The Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Station features a versatile, space-saving design that won’t clutter your desk or nightstand. When not in use, it can fold up to roughly the size of a deck of cards for easy storage. When unfolded, it transforms into a complete charging hub for your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods. The phone stand cleverly flips up to reveal a charging pad for your AirPods, while a dedicated Apple Watch charger pops out from the base.

The charging station supports the latest Qi2 standard, so it comes with strong magnets for precise alignment and delivers up to 15 watts of power. Additionally, Anker’s charging station comes with a bundled 40-watt AC adapter and a five-foot USB-C cable, so you don’t need to buy extra accessories.

The best charging stations generally take up a lot of horizontal space, whether they’re standing upright or lying flat. Twelve South’s HiRise 3 Deluxe is a more vertical station, making it a compact solution to save space on your nightstand. Instead of arranging its charging pads side by side, Twelve South’s 3-in-1 arranges them in a front-to-back configuration (Apple Watch in front, iPhone in the middle, and AirPods in the back). The idea is to save as much space as possible.

In addition to its space-saving design, the HiRise 3 Deluxe’s MagSafe pad for the iPhone has 35 degrees of adjustment, allowing you to find the best viewing angle. Other charging stations have a fixed MagSafe pad, so you’re stuck with the angle you’re given. Meanwhile, the charging pad for the Apple Watch can sit flat or flip up, so you can use it with various watch straps. These thoughtful features elevate the experience, making the HiRise 3 Deluxe perfect for conserving space.

What to Consider When Buying an Apple Charging Station

shape, rectangle

While many wireless charging stations might look similar, there are key features that differentiate them and impact your charging experience. To ensure you get the most out of your purchase, here are the criteria we considered when grading wireless charging stations.

Flat or Elevated: Every setup is different, so the charging station you choose has to work for your specific needs. Consider how you’ll use your devices and where you’ll keep the charger (e.g., your desk or nightstand). Elevated charging stands are ideal for a desk because they display your devices and allow you to keep an eye on notifications or glance at the time throughout the day. Horizontal chargers, on the other hand, are excellent for nightstands. They offer a clean and minimalist look that blends into the surroundings. Since your devices will likely be resting overnight, a horizontal charging station provides a convenient solution when you don’t need to always see your device’s screen.

Power Output: There’s no denying the convenience of wireless charging. Unfortunately, it’s not the quickest way to replenish your devices. That’s why it’s important to consider the wattage when choosing the charging station that’s right for you. We recommend a charging station that’s MagSafe certified or equipped with new Qi2 technology, ensuring the fastest possible wireless charging speeds of 15 watts for your iPhone.

Also take note of whether the charging station comes with a power adapter. While many of our picks come with a 30-watt charger, some big-name offerings require you to buy one separately.

Why Trust Esquire?

The best way to know if a charger is any good is to use it. And, well, we’ve tested dozens of wireless chargers and charging stations over the years. When Apple introduced wireless charging to the iPhone in 2017, we couldn’t ditch our cables fast enough. We’re constantly trying new and noteworthy gadgets , and that kind of firsthand testing gives us valuable insight into the tech worth buying and what you should skip.

What is The Best MagSafe Travel Charger for Apple Products?

If you’re the travel type, you’ll agree with me that there are several integrated outlets at airport terminals, in-flight Wi-Fi, and USB ports built into hotel nightstands making it feel like the travel and hospitality industries are constantly coming up with new methods to make your life easier while you are away from home. Regardless of all these modern comforts, it’s still all too easy to find oneself in a scenario where you don’t have access to electricity. Whether traveling nonstop or on an older airplane without outlets, most mobile devices can’t handle a full day of travel without backup. For those who want to keep using their preferred computers, tablets, and cell phones while traveling, many power solutions are available.

Why Should I Buy a MagSafe Travel Charger

Without favoritism in play, we all know the stress and consequent problems that follow chargers before the emergence of wireless chargers. Apart from the fact that conventional chargers easily get faulty, most people don’t buy the idea of going about with cords.

Thankfully, Apple’s MagSafe technology brings an improvement in wireless charging making it easier to wirelessly charge your iPhones and other Apple products.

The term MagSafe refers to a ring of magnets that surrounds the internal charging coil of the iPhone 12, 13, and 14, which recognizes compatible accessories and magnetically locks them into place with the proper accessories. Having one of these MagSafe chargers guarantees that your phone charges as fast as possible with you necessarily holding it in place.

Every iPhone 12/13/14 model supports MagSafe. It enables powerful and less wasteful magnetic clamping of approved and compatible accessories to the back of the iPhone. For a variety of reasons, MagSafe charging can be twice as quick as typical Qi wireless charging. The first difference is that it allows 15W iPhone charging (12W for the iPhone 12/13/14 mini), as opposed to the typical 7.5W from a Qi charger.  This is because the maximum power of conventional, non-MagSafe magnetic chargers is 7.5W.

The second difference is that, compared to what you would receive by simply setting your phone on top of a non-magnetic wireless charging pad, the connection is far more exact. Ineffective wireless charging can lose up to 50% of its power due to improper positioning and a few environmental conditions. When compared to cabled charging with Lightning, the wireless inefficiency of MagSafe is more like 30% wastage. You’re also less likely to discover that your phone didn’t charge at all because the magnet ensures that it is placed properly.

Also, it supports standard cases with the HaloLock Universal Ring, MagSafe with HaloLock cases, AirPods 3, 2, Pro, and other models like the Apple Watch Ultra, Series 8/7/6/5/4/3/2/1, and SE 2/1.

It offers great strength in a snap with wireless charging that is quick and simple in the MagSafe manner and has powerful magnets to ensure secure attachment. When we think about its compatibility and functionality with the Apple Watch, there is an official certification for secure and trustworthy charging.

Coupled with all these amazing features, his charging set also enables faster charging. With this charging set, you’ll get the quickest, most dependable charging for your Watch because the charger is officially Made and certified for Apple Watch. It only takes about 45 minutes to go from 0% to 80% which could help you make the most of your limited time.

In addition to being iPhone and AirPods charging pads, this made-for-Apple watch charging set offers a wireless charging stand in the MagSafe style. With this three-in-one charging set covering all of your daily necessities (like iPhone, Apple Watch & AirPods), your gadgets would be rapidly charged with MagSafe-compatible charging. This amazing all-in-one charging solution helps you get rid of tangled wires, free up space, and keep your desk neat.

We all know how tiring and sometimes frustrating cables and wires can be; most especially when they are entangled. This quick and straightforward magnetic charging power bypasses the cable and upgrades to a tap-and-go MagSafe compatible wireless charging to take the guesswork out of wireless charging. You may charge your phone in the fastest and most convenient method possible in just one snap. The attached powerful magnets make it perfect to align your device for fast charging as simple as connecting your phone to the charger.

When Apple added a ring of magnets to the iPhone 12 (and later) and gave it the name “MagSafe,” things started to get interesting. Along with ensuring consistent alignment, the magnets in a MagSafe-certified charger allow your iPhone to charge at a rate of up to 15W, which is double the 7.5W it receives from other wireless chargers.

What Apple products are compatible with MagSafe chargers?

MagSafe chargers are compatible with iPhone 12, 13, and 14 series models, as well as AirPods and Apple Watch devices. Some MagSafe chargers can also accommodate other devices through the use of HaloLock Universal Rings or MagSafe-compatible cases.

Keeping your iPhone topped up can be a challenge, but the clever magnetic MagSafe system means you don’t need to fumble with cables or worry about a wireless charging sweet spot. Apple’s MagSafe is an accessory system integrated into the iPhone 12 , iPhone 13 , iPhone 14 , and iPhone 15 range . A ring of magnets on the back of the phone (and in MagSafe-enabled cases) allows you to attach MagSafe chargers that can recharge your iPhone wirelessly.

Snag a MagSafe charger for your nightstand, work desk, and car, and you can easily top up throughout the day. These are the best MagSafe chargers we've tested. (And yes, if you have an Android phone with a MagSafe case , some of these chargers may be compatible and do the job.)

Best MagSafe Charger

The new Qi2 wireless charging standard , developed with Apple’s input, brings MagSafe-style magnetic charging and a 15-watt charging rate. Sadly, most third-party MagSafe chargers with a puck-shaped design charge your iPhone at a slower rate (7.5 watts), but you won't have to worry about that with this 15-watt Anker charger. Few phones beyond Apple’s MagSafe lineup (iPhone 12 and later) work with the magnets today, but Qi2 is backward compatible. This pad from Anker stays put, has a durable aluminum casing that stays relatively cool, and has a 5-foot USB-C cable permanently attached, giving it the edge over Apple’s official MagSafe puck , which only has a 3-foot cable. It can also charge AirPods that have a magnetic charging case.

15-watt charging, 5-foot cable, wall charger not included, two-year warranty.

Best MagSafe Stand

Striking the perfect balance between heft and magnetism is tricky, but Nomad nails it with its new stand. It's heavy enough that you won’t knock it over when you fumble for your iPhone, and you can peel it away from the charger one-handed. The stand comes in black or white and feels sturdy, featuring an aluminum and glass body with rubber padding. It is officially Qi2 certified , so it can charge any Qi2 phone (including all the MagSafe iPhones) at the maximum 15-watt rate. It can get a little warm when charging, but not unusually so. You get a high-quality braided cable in the box, but you will need a 20-watt wall charger. We like Nomad’s 20-watt charger ($20) , but I can’t help feeling it should have been included at this price.

15-watt charging, 6.6-foot cable, wall charger not included, two-year warranty.

Best MagSafe Pad

Folks who prefer a pad should consider Nomad’s Base One. Like the stand, it's sculpted from metal and glass with rubber padding and has enough weight that you can pick your MagSafe iPhone off of it with one hand. The Base One is also officially MagSafe certified to charge at the maximum 15-watt rate, and you get a lovely braided cable in the box, though you need to supply your own 20-watt charger. If you don’t care about the 15-watt charging rate, perhaps because you charge overnight, you can opt for the regular Nomad Base and save some cash. It has a similar design and is MagSafe compatible, but tops out at 7.5 watts for iPhones. Stock seems to be fluctuating for the Base One, but you can get a notification when it's available again.

Best 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger

Our favorite 2-in-1 MagSafe charger is perfect for charging your iPhone and AirPods (or any other wireless earbuds with wireless charging support). It has a wide, circular base with a shiny metallic post connecting the MagSafe charging pad. Ours is white, but there’s a black option too. Stick your iPhone on in landscape view, and you can enjoy StandBy mode , effectively turning your iPhone into an alarm clock. This charger can provide the top 15-watt rate and includes a power adapter with a 5-foot cable permanently attached.

Best 3-in-1 MagSafe Charger

Folks with the holy trinity of Apple products will love Belkin’s 3-in-1 charging tree. Best for Travel

Space is at a premium when you travel, but Anker’s MagGo 3-in-1 folds away to an impressively compact form. A second pad behind the main pad charges AirPods or other wireless earbuds, and there is a fold-out Apple Watch charger. You get a USB-C cable (around 5-foot) and a wall adapter in the box.

Sling a MagSafe power bank in your bag, and you can attach it when you need to top up your iPhone battery. This power bank boosted my iPhone 14 Pro’s battery by 78 percent and took around three hours to charge (since wireless charging is not the most efficient method, you will never get the stated capacity of a MagSafe power bank). You can continue using your iPhone while it’s charged because it doesn’t add much bulk, and there’s a small fold-out kickstand for propping your iPhone in portrait or landscape orientation. Just ensure you get the newer (A1614) version, as it has the USB-C port on the side and can turn off if you just want to use it as a stand. Read our Best MagSafe Power Banks guide for more recommendations.

A Headphone Stand and Wireless Charger

Combining functionality is a great way to save desk space, and this headphone stand cleverly doubles as a MagSafe charger. There’s a stainless steel arm with a rubber section to lay your cans on and a MagSafe charging spot on the base. There’s also a USB-C port that you can use to top up your headphones or other devices. While you get a USB-C cable in the box, you'll need to use your own 20-watt wall charger.

7.5-watt charging, 3.3-foot cable, wall charger not included, one-year warranty.

Having a place to dump your keys, jewelry, and watch, and charge your phone and earbuds, can help you get out faster in the morning. This classy and roomy tray from Courant has a MagSafe spot for your iPhone, a secondary charging spot for your earbuds, and space for all your other daily essentials. I tried the black linen version, but you can opt for lighter shades or a leather finish (though it’s more expensive). The wireless charging is slow, but there is a spare USB-C port. There's also a bright, unnecessary LED on the back of this charger that I had to cover when using this on my nightstand.

It looks classy and neat, but the linen version picks up dust easily. WIRED reviews editor Julian Chokkattu has the Leather-Saddle model—he says it doesn't show dust easily and looks great after months of use.

UCOMX 15W Nano 3-in-1 Wireless Charger  »

UCOMX 15W Nano 3-in-1 Wireless Charger

Fast 15-watt charging

Folds into multiple arrangements

Compatible with all Apple Watch models

AirPods magnet not strong enough

Some units defective within a year

The UCOMX 15W Nano 3-in-1 Wireless Charger can lie flat, it can fold up fully for storage or portability, or it can be arranged as a stand that holds your phone in portrait or landscape orientation. And of course it can charge up your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch, too, and faster than many other wireless charging stations out there because this is a 15-watt output charger.

Whether you use this charger on your desk at work, by your bed at home, or as you travel, it will serve you well thanks to its physical adaptability. Beyond the folding and multiple position options, clever features include the popup watch charger and the gentle LED indicator lights that show you when a proper connection for charging has been made. The 15W Nano is compatible with all iPhones from the 12th generation through the 15th, and it should be forward compatible for some time.

Anlmz 3-in-1 Charging Station  »

Anlmz 3-in-1 Charging Station

Great price point

Works with iPhone 8 - 15

Small footprint

Not compatible with many cases, popsockets

Does not support AirPods Pro2

Don’t let the tiny price tag of the Anlmz 3-in-1 Charging Station mislead you: this is a perfectly good 3-in-1 charging station that works with all iPhones from the 8 forward, with all Apple Watches, and with almost every variation of AirPods, too. And it’s a clever charger, too: once the station detects that your phone has reached its full charge capacity, it automatically reduces its power output to a mere trickle that keeps the phone powered up and reduces the chance of overheating.

With a 10-watt output for the phone charger, a five-watt AirPods charger, and a three-watt Apple Watch charger, this affordable device can have all of your electronics powered up from fully drained batteries in about three and a half hours. It measures just under four inches across and is barely five inches tall, so this is a compact charging station that will fit almost anywhere, from a narrow shelf at home to the fold-down tray on a plane.

ESR 3-in-1 Travel Charge Stand  »

ESR 3-in-1 Travel Charge Stand

Folds down flat

Watch charger can be used independently

Backed by robust warranty

Compact but heavy

Watch can’t charge while stand is flat

The ESR 3-in-1 Travel Charge Stand was made with the frequent traveler in mind. If you’re a traveler who uses an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods, then you are said person. This compact 3-in-1 system folds flat when it’s not in use so it can be popped into a bag or even tucked into a pocket. While it is powering up your devices, it can serve as an upright stand for your phone. And the watch charger can be detached and connected directly to a separate charging block or to a USB-C port on a computer and can charge your Apple Watch independently.

And while this may be a compact and portable charging device, it’s sturdy enough for daily use and it’s powerful enough to be your primary charger thanks to its 15-watt phone charge output. The ESR 3-in-1 Travel Charge Stand comes with a power outlet charging adapter, a five-foot USB-C cable, that removable watch charger, and even with a handy travel case that can accommodate all of that hardware plus the charger itself.

Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand  »

Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand

Makes phone and watch easy to see

Broads watch and AirPods compatibility

Sturdy magnetic connection

Heavy and rather large

The Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand elevates your phone more than most wireless charging stations and holds it at just the right angle for easy viewing or for use as a platform for a video chat, making this charging stand ideal for use at work. And in fact, it puts your watch on clear display, too, so you’ll never miss a text or a notification even as your devices charge. And the MagSafe charging pad creates a reliably solid connection, so your phone won’t fall off the charger even if you brush against it while working or your desk gets jostled.

Weighing in at nearly two pounds, this is a larger charging station than most, but that size helps lend some of the aforementioned stability, and it lends the Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand a commanding look there on your desktop. And with its 15-watt output power, the charger lives up to its looks in terms of performance, too. Also robust is the two-year “Connected Equipment Warranty” that covers up to $2,500 of damages should such occur while your devices are on the charger.

Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station  »

Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station

Very small footprint

Multiple safety features

Folds flat when not in use

On the pricey side

Only works with iPhone 13 and newer

With its minimal footprint and very softly glowing LED indicator lights, the Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station is a perfect 3-in-1 charging station for your nightstand, a spot where real estate can be at a premium. And it can fold up and be tucked away into a drawer when it’s not in use. But while it might be small, this charger is pretty mighty. It can rapidly charge up your phone with a 15-watt wireless connection, and it can power a watch up to 50% battery in just over half an hour.

You won’t ever have to worry about your devices overheating when they spend all those nighttime hours connected because the Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station uses an “ActiveShield” temperature monitoring system that checks the heat levels of connected devices an astounding 3,000,000 times per day and adjusts charge levels if overheating is beginning to occur. The charger also prevents overcurrent and overvoltage damage.

Satechi 3-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand  »

Satechi 3-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand

Sleek and stylish looks

Good angle for screen viewing

Modest 7.5-watt charging

If the Satechi 3-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand weren’t a perfectly functional and reliable charging system, we would never recommend it based on its looks alone, but the simple fact is this is a cool-looking charger. And as your charging station is likely to be on prominent display at all times, why not let looks be a factor? It’s elegantly simple and sleek, with modern lines and a sturdy base. But while sleek, this stand is plenty sturdy, easily holding up even the largest iPhones in landscape or portrait orientation.

The 7.5-watt phone charger lags behind a 15-watt charger in terms of charging speed, but this charging stand delivers more than enough power to keep your phone gaining a charge even as you actively use it. And it handily powers up your Apple Watch and AirPods at the same time, all while looking great.

CIYOYO Wireless Charging Station for Apple  »

CIYOYO Wireless Charging Station for Apple

Works with non-Apple devices

Anti-slip silicone base

Slow charging when all 3 devices connected

Some units fail within a year

The CIYOYO Wireless Charging Station for Apple is just three inches wide and less than five inches deep, so it can perch on a narrow shelf, tuck in on a cluttered desk, or even take up residence on a window ledge. It achieves its minimal footprint by placing the watch charger at the top of the unit with the earbuds charger just below it, set behind the angled phone charging stand. And note we don’t specifically say iPhone, Apple Watch, or AirPods, because this charging station works with Apple devices and many non-Apple gadgets, too.

The station comes in a half dozen different color options, all of which are on the basic but classy side (think black, white, or tan) and it has an understated style that lets it blend in with its surroundings rather than stand out. Bright green LED indicators let you know a charging connection has been made, and they switch off after 20 seconds, which is good if you plan to use this station in the bedroom.

The Bottom Line

The UCOMX 15W Nano 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is our pick for the best 3-in-1 Apple charging station overall because it is effective, affordable, and adaptable, folding into a raised stand for viewing convenience or laying flat for ease of use. Each of the other 3-in-1 chargers we cover here has features that might make it the best 3-in-1 Apple charging station for your needs, so take a close look at all of them and consider how and where you do your device charging.

Things To Consider When Buying a 3-in-1 Apple Charging Station

Device Compatibility: It’s important that your 3-in-1 charging station is compatible not just with an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods, but with the generation and models of these devices that you own and use, so make sure to identify your specific phone, watch, and earbuds and check to see that they are supported. And note that in limited cases, these charging stations also work with other brands, such as with a Samsung Galaxy phone, in case you ever cross brand boundaries.

Charging Speed and Power Output: Qi charging, which is charging via electromagnetic induction, was until recently often limited to 7.5 watts, though many wireless chargers operate at twice that output today. At 15 watts, a fully drained iPhone should be at nearing% battery in around an hour and fully powered up in two and a half, but note that many chargers will take longer to fully charge your phone, especially if three devices are charging at once.

Additional Features: Because all 3-in-1 charging stands for Apple devices have the same base functions, it can be the other features that make one a best pick for you. Look for things like LED indicators that confirm charging, for example. Or look for adjustable and adaptable stands, says Doud, such as “a watch charger that rotates out from underneath the charging stand making it very compact [or] chargers that fold up for easy storage.”

Design and Footprint: The physical size of your charging station matters quite a bit if you travel often or need it in a tight space, such as on a small nightstand. Otherwise, all such stations are relatively small and what matters more is the form and function of your 3-in-1. “Look for chargers equipped with an easy-to-use magnetic connection and built-in modules that works when an iPhone is in both portrait and landscape modes,” says Lirette.

Price and Value: “The 60 to 70 dollar range is actually relatively cheap for this product category,” says Doud, so know that you may have to shell out more than you expect to get unique features in a 3-in-1 charging station. That said, there are several more budget-friendly options that are well worth your consideration.

How We Chose the Best 3-in-1 Apple Charging Stations

Every 3-in-1 Apple charging stations will meet your basic needs, namely charging three different types of devices at once. It’s in identifying quality of construction, value, and unique use case that key differences emerge. To help select the best 3-in-1 Apple charging stations, contributor Steven John reached out to some tech experts who have spent their fair share of time considering this highly specific type of hardware.

The individuals to whom John spoke included senior mobile tech analyst and tech review podcaster Adam Doud ; and Dani Lirette, senior account executive with the tech-focused Max Borges Agency . Doud and Lirette both offered specific product recommendations and general insights into what to look for in a 3-in-1 Apple charging station. This included points about the devices themselves, but also thoughts on their use, such as which options were the best for travel, which the best for your desk at work, and so on.

Armed with expert input, John combed through the plethora of 3-in-1 Apple charging stations available, using the data he found as well as plentiful reviews and ratings left by verified buyers to arrive his selection of the best products.

Why Should You Trust Us?

U.S. News & World Report contributor Steven John has spent more than 12 years testing and writing about various products, services, apps, travel destinations, and more. His range of product testing experience includes everything from tech hardware to office furniture to fitness apparel and much more, including many different types of charging devices. In addition to his work writing for U.S. News & World Report, John also contributes to a number of other major publications, such as Insider, New York Magazine, Dad Gear Review, Architectural Digest, Forbes, and more.

3-in-1 Apple Charging Stations FAQs

First and foremost, make sure the charger can accommodate all three of those portable electronic devices you use daily, namely, says Doud, “your phone, your watch, and your AirPods.” But he adds that you also need to consider how the devices are placed and how adaptable the charger is, saying: “[Look] for a charger that serves as a stand for watching media in landscape orientation [or] for travel, one that’s very compact.”

Making sure your devices will work with a charging station simply requires reading the stats, and note that almost all of the best 3-in-1 Apple charging stations are relatively future proof, designed to work with phones, watches, and earbuds that have not even been released yet. Most are also backward compatible with several generations of iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods, but do take the time to read which models will work with your new charging station.

There are indeed safety concerns that come with charging stations, such as overheating that can damage a device and, in extreme cases, present a fire hazard. But all of the 3-in-1 charging stations that we have featured here have overheat protection features, so your phone, watch, earbuds, and your property are all safe when you use these devices.

A 3-in-1 charger reduces the need for cables and charging blocks and lets you charge three critical devices at once, but it also has two more benefits that must not be overlooked. First, most such charging stations can prop up your phone for easy viewing, both your view of the screen and the camera’s view of you for photos, videos, or a FaceTime or Zoom session. And second, by storing all of your major portable electronic devices in one place, these Apple charging stations make it less likely you will misplace and lose any of your hardware.

Best MagSafe wireless chargers for iPhone 2024

Simon Jary

We’ve rounded up the best MagSafe, Qi2 and MagSafe-compatible magnetic chargers, from the plain pad to multi-functional (up to six devices charged) stands, and even the most colorful—from snap-on chargers and modular stands to foldable power bank and full desk mat.

Apple’s MagSafe technology, supported by all models of iPhone 12/13/14/15, presents a more efficient way of wirelessly charging compatible iPhones. MagSafe is the ring of magnets around the iPhone 12, 13, 14 and 15’s internal charging coil, which senses compatible accessories and magnetically snaps securely into the most efficient charging position with the right accessories. And you’re less likely to wake up to find your phone wasn’t correctly placed so didn’t charge at all!

Offering 15W power output, MagSafe charging is twice as fast merely compatible 7.5W magnetic wireless charging.

A new Qi2 standard , supported by the iPhone 13/14/15 family, now means that some non-MagSafe chargers are able to charge supporting phones at the full 15W—if they are certified for Qi2, of course. Qi2 is based on the same technology as Apple’s MagSafe so offers similar 15W speed charging.

We’ve started testing the new Qi2 chargers—read our Anker Qi2 MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station review —and the Qi2 charging speeds are close enough to MagSafe’s to be regarded as identical.

Made for MagSafe and Qi2 certification logos

MagSafe or Qi2 certification

Apple certifies MagSafe accessories to ensures that the output charging is 15W, compared to non-certified but MagSafe-compatible chargers that are usually just 7.5W. Certified MagSafe chargers also have a single-wire NFC antenna that allows the iPhone to identify the device, a built-in magnetometer, and a compass to prevent interference while you are using your iPhone while it’s charging.

The new Qi2 certification means that such products should match MagSafe certification at a 15W charging speed.

In our tests, 15W Qi2 and 15W MagSafe chargers are evenly matched for charging speeds, and 7.5W MagSafe compatible chargers, as you might expect, take around twice as long—certainly in the early stages of charging.

Don’t rule out 7.5W chargers as they are often high quality and nearly always noticeably cheaper. “MagSafe compatible” is used widely to mean any accessory that includes a bunch of magnets.

Thankfully, Qi2 should greatly expand the number of fast 15W chargers and supporting devices, and we are seeing Qi2 chargers from power specialists such as Anker and ESR.

We have avoided the many cheap models found online and focused on the premium brands, while also including those that offer something different.

And, of course, the iPhone 12/13/14/15 models work with non-magnetic chargers, too; check out our roundup of the best wireless chargers for iPhone . We also have a round up of the Best MagSafe portable battery packs and power banks . And for many MagSafe chargers reviewed here you’ll likely still need a wall charger to power the—here’s our recommendations of the best iPhone chargers .

Multi-device magnetic chargers

The most basic form of MagSafe or magnetic charger is the simple pad that latches on to the compatible iPhone. Some pads feature a pop-out arm so the iPhone can be propped up while charging.

There are also products that can charge an iPhone and other Apple devices, such as an Apple Watch or wireless AirPods charging case, at the same time. Note that the AirPods case must be of the wireless variety, and the original AirPods case lacked this functionality. The base of a multi-charger could also be used to charge a second iPhone but mostly not magnetically and at 5W rather than 7.5W or 15W. Also see our round up of the Best Apple Watch chargers and stands .

We have tested a lot of magnetic chargers—MagSafe, Qi2 and Compatible—and here inform you which one will work best for you. There’s simple magnetic wireless chargers, multi-device chargers, travel chargers, car chargers and more.

Apple MagSafe Charger – Simple MagSafe charger if you must buy Apple

Apple MagSafe Charger – Simple MagSafe charger if you must buy Apple

  • Short cable
  • Cable charging is faster

Output charging : 15W (MagSafe)

Cable : 1m (3.3ft)

Wall charger : Not included

Colors : White

The most obvious MagSafe Charger to buy for your Apple iPhone is, of course, the Apple MagSafe Charger. It’s the charger that Apple would have shipped with the iPhone if it did such things anymore.

It’s as minimalist a design as you’d expect from Apple–it looks a lot like a giant Apple Watch Charger.

You can also use it to charge your AirPods.

Its main advantage over the non-certified competition is its 15W charging power. It’s still half as fast as using a Lightning or USB-C cable, however, and if you are going to the bother of connecting this product to a wall charger, why not just use a Lightning (iPhone 12/13/14) or USB-C (iPhone 15) cable? You can fast-charge an iPhone to 50% battery in under 30 minutes using a cable, while it takes around 50 minutes to wirelessly charge iPhone from 0 to 50% using even 15W MagSafe.

And the Apple MagSafe Charger is not perfect. It is too small and light to stay on the desk when you pick up your iPhone, making it a poor wireless charging pad. The 1m cable is far too short to comfortably charge and use your iPhone at the same time, or maybe stretch from a power socket to a nearby table.

Don’t forget that it still requires a USB-C wall charger—at least 20W recommended if you want the full 15W potential.

We think there are better MagSafe and MagSafe-compatible alternatives, so keep reading for our non-Apple recommendations.

Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe – Best simple MagSafe charger

Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe – Best simple MagSafe charger

  • Long, strong cable
  • More expensive than Apple charger!

Cable : 2m (6.6ft)

Colors : Black, White

Available in two predictable colors, the Belkin MagSafe Charger Pad is as fast as Apple’s Charger and comes with a longer cable and handy pop-up stand.

The cable is twice as long as Apple’s, which makes using the phone much easier when charging. It’s also thicker nylon-braided cable with a handy integrated silicone cable tie.

It is pricier than Apple, which is a surprise, so you’re paying a premium for the longer premium cable and the kickstand but we think it’s worth the extra if you must have a certified 15W MagSafe charger. Again, a straight cable connection will be faster but we like the kickstand, which you don’t get with a standard cable connection.

You can buy direct from Belkin with a 27W power adapter included or just on its own if you already have a wall charger to use.

Anker Qi2 MagGo Wireless Charger Pad – Best budget magnetic charger

Anker Qi2 MagGo Wireless Charger Pad – Best budget magnetic charger

  • Inexpensive

Output charging : 15W (Qi2)

Cable : 1.5m (5ft)

Another basic magnetic charger, Anker’s MagGo Wireless Charger Pad works just like the Apple and Belkin chargers, and also at a fast 15W—although it’s Qi2 rather than Apple MagSafe.

It works just as well, though, and is one of the cheaper premium magnetic chargers.

The cable is a decent length at 1.5m—half again as long as that on the Apple MagSafe Charger pad, but not as long as on the Belkin.

ESR HaloLock Kickstand Wireless Charger – Best budget magnetic charger with kickstand

ESR HaloLock Kickstand Wireless Charger – Best budget magnetic charger with kickstand

  • Color options

Output charging : 7.5W (Compatible)

Colors : White, Black, Blue, Pink

This is a small, simple magnetic charging pad that has a kickstand that lets you prop your attached iPhone 12/13/14/15 up either in landscape or portrait mode for video viewing or hands-free FaceTime calls.

The cable length is reasonable at 1.5m.

It’s available in four colors, so is wildly more flamboyant than the other magnetic wireless chargers tested here.

Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe – Best 3-in-1 magnetic charger to save desk space

Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe – Best 3-in-1 magnetic charger to save desk space

  • 3-in-1 charging
  • 15W for iPhone
  • Fast charge Watch
  • Includes charger
  • Only in black

Apple Watch fast charge: Yes

Wall charger : 40W AC power adapter

Colors : Black

A 3-in-1 charger that can re-power iPhone, AirPods and Watch is a boon for Apple fans, but most of the products we’ve tested take up quite a lot of desk space. The stylish HiRise 3 Deluxe, as its name suggests, goes more vertical and so has a smaller footprint—handy for bedside tables and other places where a giant charging stand is less welcome.

It is fully Apple certified, so can fast-charge any MagSafe iPhone (iPhone 12, 13, 14 or 15 models but not SE) at 15W as well as fast-charge an Apple Watch (Series 7, 8, 9, SE and Ultra) at 5W and Apple AirPods (2nd and 3rd generation AirPods, and all AirPods Pro) at 7.5W.

It’s 6 inches (15.4cm) high, 3.4in (8.5cm) wide and 6.3in (15.9cm) deep. In comparison, the Belkin 3-in-1 is 13.5cm wide. For an even smaller footprint, consider the OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station, reviewed below.

The MagSafe iPhone charger can angle and tilt by 35-degrees, and hold the device in either landscape or portrait—so works well in iOS 17’s StandBy mode .

The base charges at 7.5W and can be used to power up AirPods or a second iPhone, and the Watch part fast charges at 5W.

Journey Trio Ultra 3-in-1 Fast Wireless Charging Station – Fast 3-in-1 magnetic charger

Journey Trio Ultra 3-in-1 Fast Wireless Charging Station – Fast 3-in-1 magnetic charger

  • North America only

Cable : 1,5m (5ft)

Wall charger : 30W AC power adapter

This 3-in-1 charger for iPhone, Watch and AirPods has a small footprint, about the same size as the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe reviewed above. It also matches that charging station in terms of charging speed. It’s fully certified for iPhone (so fast 15W) and Watch (fast 5W). Non-certified rivals will charge an iPhone at 7.5W and Watch at 3W. The lower charging pad is rated at 5W and can be used to charge your AirPods or a second phone, although not magnetically and much slower than the main MagSafe pad.

While this is an impressive 3-in-1 charger, we prefer the cheaper HiRise 3 Deluxe for its more flexible Watch charging module. It is a little taller, which some may prefer.

It does come in white, which might blend in with your environment better than the black-only HiRise.

It measures 6.7 inches high, 3.4in wide and 5.3in deep (16.9-x-8.6-x-13.4cm).

OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station with MagSafe – Fast 3-in-1 magnetic charger

OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station with MagSafe – Fast 3-in-1 magnetic charger

Wall charger : 36W AC power adapter

Colors : Black or White

This fast-charging 3-in-1 charger is a little smaller than even the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe and Journey Trio Ultra, both reviewed above. It measures 5.6 inches high, and 4.6 inches both wide and deep (13.9-x-11.7-x-11.7cm).

It’s a great multi-device charger but is beaten by the other two fast 3-in-1 products, which both feature tiltable iPhone charging pads.

Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (Foldable 3-in-1) – Best 3-in-1 travel wireless charger pad/stand

Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (Foldable 3-in-1) – Best 3-in-1 travel wireless charger pad/stand

  • Includes 40W charger

Cable : 1.5 m (5ft)

Power specialist Anker is one of the first companies to release Qi2-compatible chargers, and the foldable Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station is a great example of what we can expect from the latest technology.

It charges the iPhone (iPhone 13 and later) at 15W, and is also certified by Apple to fast-charge the Apple Watch, as well as Qi charge AirPods in a wireless charging case.

It is super compact, measuring about the length and width of a credit card (3.5×2.36 inches; 8.9×6cm) and an inch (2.5cm) deep, weighing 6.9oz (195g). The 5W Watch-charging module is tucked away on the underside (see above) and can lie flat or sit up at an angle for Nightstand mode.

The Qi2 pad raises to create a stand for your iPhone, in either portrait or landscape mode for StandBy mode. You can also charge an iPhone with the charger folded and the Qi2 pad on top. You need to unfold it only if you want to charge some AirPods or use the Qi2 pad as a stand.

There are certainly many cheaper 3-in-1 foldable chargers—for example, the $50 Kuxiu X55 3-In-1, reviewed below—but none at either 15W MagSafe or Qi2. You’ll also need to add a USB-C power supply to these cheaper 3-in-1 devices, while the Anker MagGo Charging Station ships with its own powerful 40W wall charger.

Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger – Best 2-in-1 travel MagSafe charger

Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger – Best 2-in-1 travel MagSafe charger

  • Charges Watch and iPhone and
  • Can swap Watch for AirPods
  • Small footprint
  • Currently U.S. only

Colors : Aluminum

Not content with making our favorite 3-in-1 iPhone/Watch/AirPods charger, the HiRise 3 Deluxe reviewed above, Twelve South has wowed us with this easily pocketable 2-in-1 charger that can handle iPhone and Apple Watch or iPhone and AirPods, charging two devices simultaneously.

It is fully Apple certified, so fast wirelessly charges the iPhone at 15W and the Watch at 5W. You can’t get faster wireless charging—note that wired charging is much faster for iPhones.

It’s a really clever, compact foldable size and offers MacBook-like styling. Unfurl the charger and the two wireless charging pads are revealed. You can fold 180 degrees and place the Watch in Nighstand mode. Flip it round, and you can set the iPhone in landscape StandBy mode.

Yes, it’s expensive but it does come with a super-compact 30W USB-C wall charger that comes with interchangeable international plug heads: US, UK, EU and AU/NZ.

Anker PowerWave Magnetic 2-in-1 Stand – Best budget 2-in-1 magnetic stand

Anker PowerWave Magnetic 2-in-1 Stand – Best budget 2-in-1 magnetic stand

  • 2-in-1 charging

Cable : 1.2 m (4ft)

Built to charge both an iPhone 12/13/14/15 and wireless AirPod case charger, the Anker PowerWave isn’t MFi certified and therefore doesn’t reach the 15W phone charging heights of the Apple.

Its 7.5W charging is fine if you have the time; if you’re in a real hurry you’d be better off using a cable than using a 15W certified MagSafe charger anyway.

The AirPods are charged at 5W, which is standard for all such multi-device magnetic chargers.

You get angled landscape and portrait modes with this good-looking stand from one of our favorite premium accessory makers.

The magnetic link is super strong so you don’t need to worry about the iPhone falling off even during re-angling.

Journey Rapid TRIO 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station – Best budget 3-in-1 magnetic charger

Journey Rapid TRIO 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station – Best budget 3-in-1 magnetic charger

  • Small profile
  • Detachable Watch charger
  • Not Watch fast charge

Apple Watch fast charge: No

The Journey Rapid Trio 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station, like the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe, has a small footprint for such a multi-device charger. It’s only a tiny bit larger than the HiRise 3, at 16.9cm (6.7in) high, 13.3cm (5.3in) deep and 8.6cm (3.4in) wide.

It is similar in technical specifications to the Alogic MagSpeed 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station, reviewed below, but lays out its charging points differently. This charger’s horizontal footprint is smaller.

It has some tricks up its sleeve, as its detachable USB-C Apple Watch charger means you can take it with you on your travels and simply plug it into a USB-C port—say on your MacBook—to charge your Apple Watch away from the charging stand.

Like the HiRise 3 Deluxe, the phone charging part can also tilt, unlike the more static 3-in-1 chargers reviewed here, for more flexible viewing angles—it can be set in either portrait or landscape mode.

Being just MagSafe compatible, the phone charges at 7.5W; the base at 5W, and the Watch part at 3W.

In North America only, Journey has a faster-charging model for an extra $30, the Trio Ultra 3-in-1 Fast Wireless Charging Station with 15W iPhone charging and 5W fast Watch charging, reviewed above. The Watch module is not detachable on the high-end version, but the iPhone pad remains tiltable.

Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe – Best 3-in-1 compact magnetic charger

Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe – Best 3-in-1 compact magnetic charger

Colors : Gray

This 3-in-1 MagSafe charger is certified by Apple, so offers full 15W wireless charging for iPhone 12/13/14/15 plus 5W for AirPods and 5W for Apple Watch.

Although on the heavy side, it’s super-compact and great for travel. The Watch charging part is hidden in the cube until you need it. It comes with a 30W USB-C wall charger with switchable UK and EU plug fittings that slide onto the US plug prongs.

Its tiny footprint means it takes up little space on your desk or bedside cable, too.

The stand works in landscape and portrait orientations but isn’t high. It does have adjustable viewing angles up to 60°.

A similar 3-in-1 charger from the same company is the A-frame Anker 737 MagGo , which can also simultaneously charge an iPhone (at 15W), AirPods and Watch. Aside from the shape, the only real difference from the Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe is that the slightly cheaper 737 doesn’t support fast-charging for the Apple Watch.

Journey SWIV 3-in-1 Foldable Wireless Charging Station – Best 3-in-1 travel MagSafe charger pad

Journey SWIV 3-in-1 Foldable Wireless Charging Station – Best 3-in-1 travel MagSafe charger pad

  • Foldable for travel
  • Super compact design

This 3-in-1 iPhone/Watch/AirPods charger folds up extremely neatly into a compact and lightweight package that you wouldn’t really notice in a coat pocket. Of course, despite being wireless when charging your devices it still requires a wall charger (not included); it does comes with a USB-C cable.

The MagSafe charger is compatible so only 7.5W but the Watch does offer 5W fast-charging for your wearable.

The Watch module can lie flat or flip up for Nightstand mode—perfect for a bedside table. If you want a MagSafe travel charger with a stand, consider the Kuxiu X55 , reviewed below.

Kuxiu X55 3-In-1 Foldable Magnetic Wireless Charger & Stand – Best budget 3-in-1 travel charger pad/stand

Kuxiu X55 3-In-1 Foldable Magnetic Wireless Charger & Stand – Best budget 3-in-1 travel charger pad/stand

  • Pad and stand function
  • Super compact, lightweight design
  • Not as sturdy as some

Cable : 1 m (3.3ft)

Colors : White, Black, Gray

The Kuxiu X55 3-in-1 Foldable Magnetic Charger is a neat, portable way to charge all your Apple mobile devices—Watch, iPhone, AirPods—at the same time.

It’s special because it folds up into such a compact package—measuring 2.7-x-2.7-x-1.2 inches (6.8-x-6.8-x-3cm). Its closest alternative is the Evolved 3-in-1 Foldable Charger , reviewed below.

From a design and charging point of view, both are similar—and each has its advantages over the other.

In terms of design, the X55 is shorter but deeper. It is also 50g lighter than its rival travel 3-in-1: 147g compared to 197g. From a portability point of view, the X55 therefore wins but because of its weight and size the Evolved 3-in-1 is sturdier and less likely to tip back if at extreme angles. It can be set higher and is more adjustable.

In terms of charging, both are MagSafe compatible so can wirelessly charge the iPhone at 7.5W. However, the X55 can fast-charge an Apple Watch as its Watch-charging module is rated at 5W compared to Evolved’s 3W, which will therefore charge a Watch slower.

We appreciate the X55’s lighter weight and faster Watch charger. If you are going to use the stand part of the charger as a mainstay, then we vote for the Evolved. If you prefer the lightness and the fact that the X55 can be laid flat as well as function as a stand, then our vote switches to the X55 accordingly. The X55 is our favorite 3-in-1 travel stand and pad combo.

The X55 also ships with a hard-shell carry case and a 20W USB-C wall charger, which you’ll need to supply for the Evolved 3-in-1.

We also like the ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set , reviewed below, which is an inch longer and a little wider, but nearly half the depth. The X55 3-in-1 beats the ESR because its Apple Watch charger is integrated and not an attachable module. Again, it’s horses for courses—if you like the idea of having a detachable Watch charger that you can carry separately, then the ESR takes the crown.

The Journey SWIV 3-in-1 , reviewed above, is a little larger but noticeably lighter, and also can fast-charge the Apple Watch. It lies flat so doesn’t have the stand function.

Alogic Matrix Ultimate Fold 3-in-1 Stand with Power Bank

Alogic Matrix Ultimate Fold 3-in-1 Stand with Power Bank

  • 3-in-1 fast charging stand
  • 15W iPhone, 3W Watch
  • Detachable 15W MagSafe power bank
  • Low battery capacity
  • Bulkier than slower rivals

Watch fast charge: Yes

The Alogic Matrix Ultimate is multi-talented. It can charge an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods wireless charging case at the same time, plus you can detach the iPhone charging pad and take it with you as a power bank. You can also detach the Apple Watch charger and slot that into any charging USB-C port, including that on the power bank.

On top of all that, you can fold the whole thing up and pack it in its own carry case.

Fully certified, it boasts 15W wireless iPhone charging, and can fast-charge a Watch at the same time.

The power bank’s battery capacity is 5000mAh, which in our tests gave us nearly a three-quarter recharge. There are alternatives, such as the OneAdaptr OneGo, reviewed below, that feature a 10000mAh power bank with much higher recharge potential—but none are rated as fast at charging as the Matrix Ultimate.

OneAdaptr OneGo – Best 3-in-1 magnetic power bank stand

OneAdaptr OneGo – Best 3-in-1 magnetic power bank stand

  • 10000mAh power bank
  • 7.5W iPhone, 2W Watch

Cable : 0.5 m (1.6ft)

Colors : White or Black

OneGo is a compact portable wireless charging station with a handy detachable, high-capacity (10000mAh) power bank that you can take with you on your travels.

Folded it measure 6.1-x-3.1-x-1.5 inches (15.5-x-7.8-x-3.7cm).

The Watch-charging module flips up from the back of the power bank. AirPods can be powered up at the back of the stand when the charger is unfolded.

While it’s not the fastest wireless charger (7.5W iPhone and 2W Watch) you can connect a cable to the power bank’s 18W USB-C port for speedy charging.

The OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank with MagSafe, reviewed below, offers faster wireless charging (15W and 5W) but is a much chunkier slab to carry around as the power bank is integrated rather than detachable.

Mophie 3-in-1 Extendable Stand – Best height-adjustable MagSafe charger

Mophie 3-in-1 Extendable Stand – Best height-adjustable MagSafe charger

  • Height adjustment
  • Tiltable MagSafe mount
  • Mostly plastic construction

Cable : None

If you want to properly raise your iPhone in a stand, this Mophie 3-in-1 charging stand is height adjustable between 7.5 to 16 inches (19-40cm).

The MagSafe mount is tilt adjustable, too, making this stand great for using FaceTime on the iPhone.

Fully Apple certified, it wirelessly charges an iPhone at 15W and can also fast-charge an Apple Watch.

While it feels stable, we’d have preferred a less plasticky stand column.

OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank with MagSafe – 2-in-1 MagSafe power bank stand

OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank with MagSafe – 2-in-1 MagSafe power bank stand

  • Watch fast charging

This is an interesting charger, being able to charge both an iPhone 12/13/14/15 and an Apple Watch—as well as being a large-capacity power bank so you charge your devices while away from a power socket.

Fully certified by Apple, it can wirelessly charge an iPhone at 15W and can also fast-charge an Apple Watch at the same time. You need to attach at least a 20W USB-C charger.

The adjustable iPhone stand folds right down and the Watch charger folds back to keep the OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank flat and easily transportable.

It is, however, quite large at 6-x-3.2-x-1.3 inches (15.3-x-8-x-3.4cm), and hefty (12oz (340g). It’s a bit of a brick to slip in a pocket and walk around with, but for a home/office power bank with iPhone stand that can move around a more limited space, it’s great.

For better portability, the OneAdaptr OneGo, reviewed above, features a detachable wireless power bank.

You can use it as a standard iPhone charging stand (connected to a wall charger) and then just pick it up and use it’s power bank facility when you need to move around.

Evolved 3-in-1 Foldable Charger – Budget 3-in-1 travel magnetic charger stand

Evolved 3-in-1 Foldable Charger – Budget 3-in-1 travel magnetic charger stand

  • Sturdy stand
  • Heavier than some

The Evolved 3-in-1 Foldable Charger is a competitor to the very similar Kuxiu X55 3-in-1 Foldable Magnetic Charger , reviewed above—we have compared to the chargers in more detail there.

The Evolved folds up into a compact package—measuring 3.5-x-2.4-x-0.9 inches (9-x-6.1-x-2.3cm), and weighing 197g. It may be a little longer and heavier than the Kuxio X55 but that also makes it studier and more flexible. This makes it our favorite budget 3-in-1 travel stand.

The X55 can be laid flat, which the Evolved cannot. The X55 (5W) is also faster than the Evolved (3W) at charging an Apple Watch. Both wirelessly charge the iPhone at 7.5W.

An alternative is the 15W Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Wireless Charger , reviewed above, that is priced a little higher but charges at twice the speed as this one.

You need to buy a separate, or provide your own, USB-C charger (at least 20W).

Zens 2-in-1 MagSafe + Watch Travel Charger

Zens 2-in-1 MagSafe + Watch Travel Charger

  • Charges iPhone and Apple Watch

Coming in its own hard-shell travel case, the Zens 2-in-1 MagSafe and Watch travel charger is a portable delight for owners of iPhone (12/13/14/15 series) and Apple Watch.

It is officially certified as Made for MagSafe, so charges at the full wireless 15W. Sadly the Watch doesn’t fast charge, too, but its arm folds out to create a kickstand for the iPhone in either portrait or landscape orientation.

ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set

ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set

Wall charger : 20W AC power adapter

The ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Set is certified by Apple for Apple Watch but is just compatible with MagSafe for iPhone 12/13/14/15 charging, so offers 7.5W rather than 15W.

The Watch charging part is separate but plugs in once the stand is unfolded. When folded it can be used as a wireless charging pad. The iPhone can be set in either landscape or portrait orientation when the charger is doubling up as a stand.

It’s lightweight and foldable, which makes it a great travel solution if you own iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch. Both the Kuxiu X55 and the Evolved 3-in-1 Foldable Charger are a more compact package for Apple Watch and iPhone owners because their Watch-charging modules are built-in. The Journey SWIV is about the same weight as the ESR but without the detachable nature of the Watch charger. It also can fast-charge a Watch unlike the ESR or Evolved foldable chargers.

It measures 4.5-x-2.6-x-0.63 inches (11.3-x-6.6-x-1.6cm).

There’s a smart travel case included that fits in the 20W charger, cable, Watch attachment and folding charging stand.

Alogic MagSpeed 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station – Budget 3-in-1 magnetic charger

Alogic MagSpeed 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station – Budget 3-in-1 magnetic charger

Wall charger : Not included, except in Australia: 20W AC power adapter

For a budget 3-in-1 magnetic stand that will charge your iPhone 12/13/14/15, AirPods wireless-charging case and Apple Watch, the Alogic MagSpeed 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is a simpler product than the Belkin 3-in-1 but works just fine–although at the lower charging speed as it isn’t MagSafe certified.

It is similar in charging speeds to the Journey Rapid TRIO 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station, reviewed above.

The iPhone can be angled in either portrait or landscape mode, but it can’t be angled up or down. This is where the Journey charger wins out in the battle of the affordable 3-in-1 MagSafe chargers.

If you are buying in Australia (Alogic is an Australian company), you get a 20W charger, but elsewhere you’ll need to use your own wall charger.

Belkin Magnetic Portable Wireless Charger Pad – Best budget magnetic charger with 2m cable

Belkin Magnetic Portable Wireless Charger Pad – Best budget magnetic charger with 2m cable

Belkin doesn’t just make MagSafe chargers; it has a range of compatible magnetic products, too.

Its low-end Magnetic Charger Pad is not as fast as Apple’s Charger as it’s one of the non-MagSafe-certified products, but it is cheaper and comes with a cable that is twice as long as Apple’s, which gives you more flexibility depending on the distance of your power socket to where is most convenient for you for charging. It also features a handy cord wrap.

An LED indicates if there’s any charging interruption from another object that maybe could harm your phone.

If you don’t mind the slower 7.5W charging, this is an affordable solution that beats the official Apple product with its longer cable.

Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand

Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand

  • AirPod LED can't be turned off

As an officially MFi-certified MagSafe charger, the Belkin Charge Pro hits the 15W heights just like the Apple chargers.

Like Apple’s own Duo Charger it can simultaneously power up your AirPods at 5W on its Qi circular base, plus it has the bonus of being a stand that can hold the iPhone in either portrait or landscape mode with its stable weighted base.

It’s a bit plasticky but still looks suitably Apple-ish, and it beats the Apple 2-in-1 on price.

A small LED shows whether the placed AirPods case is wirelessly charging.

Zens 4-in-1 MagSafe + Watch Wireless Charging Station – Best 4-in-1 MagSafe charging stand

Zens 4-in-1 MagSafe + Watch Wireless Charging Station – Best 4-in-1 MagSafe charging stand

  • Includes wall charger

Wall charger : 45W AC power adapter

Similar in looks to the Belkin 3-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand, the aluminum Zens 4-in-1 MagSafe + Watch Charging Station beats it on two fronts: it has a much smaller footprint and can charge four devices simultaneously. It is certified Made for MagSafe so can fast-charge an iPhone 12/13/14/15 at 15W compared to just 7.5W for merely compatible magnetic chargers.

The base features a 5W Qi charging pad allows for charging wirelessly rechargeable AirPods or other Qi compatible device

The fourth device is charged using a side-mounted USB-C port, so is wired rather than wireless like the parts for iPhone, Watch and AirPods. Rated at 18W charging, this USB-C connection can fast-charge another iPhone or charge an iPad.

The supplied 45W wall charger comes with US, UK and EU adapter plugs so you can take the Zens 4-in-1 Charging Station on your travels.

Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand with MagSafe – 3-in-1 MagSafe charging stand

Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand with MagSafe – 3-in-1 MagSafe charging stand

  • Large footprint

Belkin has a 3-in-1 MagSafe Charger that is a stand where the phone and Watch are held high and the AirPods case sits underneath in a Qi-compatible hollow on the base.

This is more stylish that other wireless charging stands, having a Sixties space-age design with chrome arms, and a silicone-covered plastic base.

A stand is useful as it lifts the charging phone to a height that makes it easier to FaceTime or watch videos without having to hold the phone aloft. It can hold the phone in either portrait or landscape mode.

In order to support the weight of the phone, the circular base has to be quite wide, at 13.5cm. For a smaller footprint 3-in-1 charger consider the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe or OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station—both reviewed above.

An LED indicates if the AirPods are charging, and it ships with its own power supply unit.

Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with MagSafe – Best 3-in-1 MagSafe charging pad

Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with MagSafe – Best 3-in-1 MagSafe charging pad

  • Fast charges Watch
  • Phone lies flat

Belkin has two models of 3-in-1 wireless charger, both MFi-certified, that can simultaneously charge your portable Apple goodies: iPhone, AirPods and Watch.

If you’ve bought into the whole Apple device ecosystem, this one will charge all you pocketable or wearable devices. of particular note is that it can fast-charge the Apple Watch.

This model is a flat pad that also includes the possibility to leave the Watch in Nightstand mode as a bedside or desk clock. We would have preferred if the phone charger could also be angled to prop up the phone for video viewing.

While minimalist in design, it does take up a fair section of desk–measuring about 23cm across and 8cm wide, and the iPhone sticks out at either side.

The pad format is better for travel portability than a charging stand, and it comes with its own wall power supply unit, so you don’t need to add your own USB-C charger.

An LED indicates if the AirPods are charging.

Alogic Matrix 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock – Best modular 3-in-1 magnetic charger

Alogic Matrix 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock – Best modular 3-in-1 magnetic charger

  • Can add portable power bank

Alogic has created a modular system that transforms what is often a static charging station into something more dynamic and portable. It’s called Matrix and features several products, some of which can be used with each other depending on your charging needs.

The Matrix 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock with Apple Watch Charger features a MagSafe-compatible wireless charging stand to charge an iPhone at 7.5W, a Qi cradle neatly placed at the back for charging compatible AirPods, and a detachable charger for the Apple Watch. You can take the small Watch charger with you and plug it into a USB-C charger or device with output charging. Be patient, though, at just 2W it can’t fast-charge an Apple Watch—for that you need Apple’s USB-C Magnetic Fast Charging Cable and at least a 5W USB-C charger—but it is more portable as it doesn’t require a long cable, having its USB-C connector built-in.

As with the Anker 633 Wireless Charger, reviewed above, you can also swap out the wireless phone-charging block and add the Matrix Wireless Power Bank (sold separately). This 5000mAh portable power bank can work in the static charging stand or come with you as a neat, portable magnetic battery pack—ready powered up for the stand. This can charge two phones or devices: one wirelessly and the other simultaneously via USB-C cable. In our tests, it charged a flagging iPhone 13 Pro from 10% to 94%.

There’s even a Matrix Magnetic Wireless Charger with Car Mount available, which the power bank can be slotted into. We’d have preferred this and the 3-in-1 Charger to be available without the non-portable charging block for those users who already own the power bank.

If you don’t own an Apple Watch, the Matrix 2-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock will save you some money, and the side-mounted USB-C Port means you could add the Watch module at a later date should you succumb to the full Apple device roster.

Zens 4-in-1 Modular Wireless Charger

Zens 4-in-1 Modular Wireless Charger

  • 4-in-1 (up 6-in-1)

Wall charger : 65W AC power adapter

The Zens 4-in-1 Modular Charging Station for iPhone with MagSafe, AirPods, Apple Watch and iPad is a MagSafe-certified charging stand that can handle not just four Apple devices but more if you buy extra charging modules to connect.

Any MagSafe iPhone (12/13/14/15) can be wirelessly charged at up to 15W, faster than non-certified MagSafe-compatible chargers. AirPods and Apple Watch will each charge wirelessly at 5W.

The iPhone can be placed in either portrait or landscape mode. At the back is a stand where you can place an iPad, which can be wired charged via a side-mounted USB-C port at up to 30W.

All devices can be charged simultaneously as the power supply has a 65W total output.

The Watch module that ships with the 4-in-1 charger can handily be situated on either the right- or left-hand side depending on your preference. Modules attach magnetically.

The Apple Watch extension can be disconnected from the main station and charged via a USB-C port to become a standalone wireless charger when travelling.

Up to three modules can be added, and different modules are available separately. Aside from extra Watch modules, the Single Wireless Charger Extension is a 10W wireless charging pad, and the Modular USB-hub Extension lets you recharge a USB-A powered device.

If you don’t own an Apple Watch, the cheaper 3-in-1 Modular Charging Station charges iPhone, AirPods and iPad. Also available from Apple .

As an environmental bonus, the Charging Station and all modules are made from recycled plastic.

Belkin Boost Charge Pro Wireless Car Charger with MagSafe – Best MagSafe car charger

Belkin Boost Charge Pro Wireless Car Charger with MagSafe – Best MagSafe car charger

  • Dedicated car accessory
  • Not compatible with all car vents

Cable : Built-in

Wall charger : 12V car charger included

Use your iPhone for satnav directions or to have easy access to your playlists in the car with this MagSafe-certified wireless charger and car vent mount, which works in both landscape and portrait modes.

It has an integrated USB-C cable, and a 12V car charger adapter for cars that come with USB-A ports.

The magnetic link is strong, which should mean that it can cope with any big bumps in the road. It works best with straight, horizontal vent slats up to 3mm in thickness and 20mm in depth. It does work with vertical slats, but there might be slight movements if the mount is overloaded with weight, says Belkin.

As the only dedicated MagSafe-certified 15W car mount available, it is expensive. If you can handle a lower charger rate, the Belkin BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless Car Charger 10W does pretty much the same job for a lot less. Or you can buy Spigen’s Mag Fit Phone Holder Car Mount and add Apple’s MagSafe Charger (reviewed above) for pretty much the same 15W result. That product is also available in black, like most car vents.

At the moment, the only place to buy the MagSafe version is via Apple’s US Store .

ESR Qi2 Magnetic Wireless Car Charger (Halolock) – Best budget wireless car charger

ESR Qi2 Magnetic Wireless Car Charger (Halolock) – Best budget wireless car charger

  • Car charger not included

While still able to charge at a fast 15W Qi2 chargers are mostly cheaper than the Apple-certified MagSafe—but as Qi2 is based on MagSafe you have nothing to fear choosing this cheaper option.

It comes with a 1m USB-C cable, with USB-A adapter if your car still has that older standard.

You can clip it into the slats on your car’s air vent (ESR says it is compatible with 99% of all cars, which we can’t verify) or you can use the included 3M adhesive mount for a semipermanent attachment to your car’s dashboard—don’t use this on a nice leather or fabric (or curved) dash.

Journey ALTI Desk Mat – Best wireless charging desk mat

Journey ALTI Desk Mat – Best wireless charging desk mat

  • Stylish desk mat

Wall charger: Not included

Colors : Black, Light Gray

This smart desk mat includes a detachable side strip that includes a magnetic wireless charging pad for phone and a non-magnetic section to charge your AirPods. Not only is the mat reversible, with smooth, wipeable vegan leather on one side and warmer-feel felt on the other, but you can pull back the mat to stow paper and notes to help reduce clutter.

It’s quite a large mat, measuring 780 x 70 x 4mm. The Light gray color is actually more of a warm stone tone.

The charging panel connects to the mat with a light magnetic snap, and can be positioned on either side simply by flipping the mat round 180 degrees, depending on whether you are left or right handed.

As it’s MagSafe compatible rather than certified, it charges the iPhone at 7.5W rather than 15W, but will charge other compatible phones at the higher power. Earbuds can be charged at up to 5W. The magnetic fit is strong so you can’t knock it off its charging position with a stray flick of an arm.

It comes with a USB-C cable but requires a charger; recommended 20W or higher.

Journey NEXA 4-in-1 Laptop Sleeve with Wireless Charging

Journey NEXA 4-in-1 Laptop Sleeve with Wireless Charging

  • Luxury MacBook sleeve
  • MagSafe charging

The premium-quality, vegan leather Journey NEXA laptop sleeve bills itself as a “4-in-1”, and it certainly is multi-functional.

As well as protecting your laptop during travel, it includes two wireless chargers (one MagSafe compatible at 7.5W; one 5W for AirPods or a second phone) and can work as both a desk mat and mousepad to free your workspace of clutter.

While it comes with a USB-C cable, you’ll need to add your own charger (check our roundup of the  best iPhone chargers ) to connect with the USB-C port in the sleeve. Alternatively you can charge the MacBook itself while it sits protected in the sleeve—for this you’ll need a more powerful  MacBook charger .

Casetify Magnetic Wireless Charger – Most fun magnetic charger collection

Casetify Magnetic Wireless Charger – Most fun magnetic charger collection

  • Hundreds of options

Colors : Many cool and/or odd patterns

We picked the English Breakfast pattern for its sheer wanton oddness but there are plenty of other patterns (Acid, Checks, Cherry Blossom) and pictures (Yeti, Harry Potter, Snoopy) to choose from.

Indeed, there are 238 different wireless charger fronts to choose from.

This 100% recyclable slim charger has eco sustainability points, too, as it’s made with recycled aluminum and printed with eco-friendly ink.

Why wireless?

Wireless charging is convenient and fine for situations when you don’t need a super-fast recharge.

If you’re leaving your home in 20 minutes and need as much juice as possible, plug in the Lightning cable (or USB-C for iPhone 15) as even a 12W USB charger can power up an iPhone a third faster than wireless, and 50% faster if you use a 20W USB-C PD charger.

It is less wearing than constantly inserting a cable into your phone, and more reliable as that vulnerable cable port can fill with fluff and dust after all the time spent in your trouser pocket or bag and it’s one of the most common reasons that an iPhone refuses to charge even when connected with a cable.

It’s easy to clean with a toothpick (but please do it softly!) but will affect most of us at some time.

Wireless charging isn’t affected by the build-up of dust and fluff in the phone port and is also less vulnerable to oxidation and corrosion.

With wireless, you don’t have to remember to run around trying to find who’s taken your charging cable, and it’s certainly a lot neater.

Of course, wireless charging is not really wireless, unless you are using a portable MagSafe battery pack. The MagSafe charger is still connected by a cable to your wall charger; it’s just the connection to the phone that is properly wireless.

What else you need

Some MagSafe chargers come with their own wall charger, but most require you to add your own. Apple recommends at least a 20W USB-C power adapter (wall-socket charger) and we agree. You won’t get over 15W charging power from the MagSafe charger to the iPhone, but 20W all but guarantees you’ll get as much power as you can.

We have tested the best iPhone wall chargers to help you choose a recommended solution.

The Best 3-in-1 Apple Charging Stations

Save time and space by investing in a 3-in-1 Apple Charging Station where you can dock your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods.

If you're invested in Apple's ecosystem, chances are you own an iPhone, an Apple Watch, and AirPods. Instead of using separate cables and adapters, you can invest in a 3-in-1 charging station to charge all your Apple devices at once and clear up the clutter on your desk or nightstand.

Here are the best 3-in-1 Apple charging stations you can buy today.

Belkin 3-in-1 Wireless Charger With MagSafe (2nd Gen)

Twelve south hirise 3 deluxe, esr halolock 3-in-1 watch wireless charging set, mophie 3-in-1 travel charger with magsafe, anker 3-in-1 cube with magsafe, mophie 3-in-1 stand for magsafe charger, belkin boostcharge 3-in-1 wireless charger for apple devices, satechi dock5 multi-device charging station, our top picks for 3-in-1 apple charging stations.

Premium design and performance

When your smartphone runs out of juice, you plug it in. When your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch need a boost in the battery department, you use Belkin's 3-in-1 Wireless Charger With MagSafe (2nd Gen).

  • Fast charging for iPhone and Apple Watch
  • Premium build quality
  • Seamless charging experience with MagSafe
  • Included adapter with charging cable
  • Can't use Nightstand mode for Apple Watch

The Belkin 3-in-1 Wireless Charger With MagSafe offers the ultimate convenience for Apple users, allowing them to charge their iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods all at once, freeing up precious outlets and eliminating clutter. Unlike other charging stations that only offer up to 7.5 watts of charging power, the Belkin 3-in-1 Charger delivers the full 15-watt MagSafe charging speed, making it the fastest and most efficient option available.

Now in its second generation, the latest model now supports fast charging for the Apple Watch Series 7 and newer and the Apple Watch Ultra and Ultra 2. It can charge your Apple Watch 33% faster than standard chargers, so your watch will be back to 100% in no time. In addition, the AirPods charging pad will have your earbuds ready for your next listening session.

The Belkin 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe also stands out with its premium and stylish design. The floating MagSafe puck design not only ensures your phone snaps into position easily but also allows you to switch between landscape and portrait mode, making it easy to FaceTime, check notifications, or watch a movie while your phone charges.

Best 3-in-1 charger for StandBy mode

The Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe offers plenty of adjustability and clearance for your iPhone, which is perfect if you want to try out the new StandBy mode. It also has a smaller footprint than the Belkin and can charge your iPhone and Apple Watch at record speeds.

  • Small footprint
  • Luxurious leather finish
  • Perfect for iOS 17's StandBy mode and Nightstand charging for Apple Watch
  • Power supply and cable included

Like the Belkin, the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe is Apple-certified and supports 15-watt charging for iPhones as well as fast charging for the latest Apple Watch models, including the Series 9 and Ultra 2. But while they both cost the same, the HiRise 3 Deluxe offers a few extra features that help it rise above the Belkin and other 3-in-1 charging stations.

The HiRise 3 Deluxe takes up less space on a nightstand and feels more premium and luxurious with its leather finish. Once docked, you can tilt your iPhone by 35 degrees to find the perfect viewing angle or rotate it to landscape to trigger the new StandBy mode in iOS 17. The base is weighted, so it doesn't slide or move around when you attach or detach your phone.

Drop your Apple Watch and AirPods at the base to charge all your Apple devices at once. You can charge your Apple Watch flat or in nightstand mode, and yes, it can accommodate the large Ultra models and rugged watch cases. The cherry on top is that you can charge another smartphone in the AirPods spot, so even your Android pals can have a slice of the pie.

Affordable three-device charging

Looking for a 3-in-1 charger for your Apple devices but don't want to break the bank? ESR's HaloLock 3-in-1 Watch Wireless Charging Set is the gadget for the job, provided you're not after top-of-the-line charging speeds.

  • Slim and spacious
  • Removable Apple Watch charger
  • Included USB-C adapter and cable
  • Does not fast charge the Apple Watch or iPhone

Available at half the price of our top options, the ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Watch Wireless Charging Set is one of the more affordable 3-in-1 charging stations available for your Apple devices. While it may not charge your devices as quickly as the Belkin and Twelve South alternatives, this isn't a dealbreaker if you primarily charge your devices overnight.

The charging station keeps your iPhone raised and visible, so it is easy to use while charging. It's also perfect for StandBy mode, with the strong magnets ensuring your phone doesn't slide off the charger. You can remove the Apple Watch charger to use while traveling and then slot it back in when you're at home to charge all your Apple devices from a single outlet. The base is weighted for added stability and features a charging indicator for the AirPods, eliminating any guesswork.

Like the Apple MagSafe Duo, but better

The Mophie 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe opens up flat to reveal dedicated charging spots for iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods and folds down pretty small to take up less space in a bag or pocket. It comes with all accessories, including a carrying case, making it perfect for travel.

  • Compact tri-fold design
  • Lightweight
  • Fast 15W iPhone charging with MagSafe animation
  • Nice fabric finish
  • Includes a carrying case and USB-C power adapter
  • Does not support Apple Watch fast charging

If you travel a lot, the Mophie 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe can cut down on the number of cables and adapters you need to bring along, requiring only one cable and adapter to charge Apple devices at once. But what really makes it perfect for travel is its tri-fold design. It folds neatly into a pocketable size, making it perfectly compact and portable.

It's an Apple-certified accessory, so it can charge your iPhone at the fastest 15-watt speed and even displays the cool MagSafe charging animation. The only downside is that it can't fast-charge the most recent Apple Watch models, and while its featherlight design is excellent for portability, you'll need both hands to detach your iPhone.

In the box, you'll find a USB-C adapter and cable that you can also use to power your MacBook or iPad, as well as a carrying case to keep everything neatly organized.

The Optimus Prime of 3-in-1 charging stations

The Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe is another compact and travel-friendly 3-in-1 Apple charging station. Unlike the Mophie 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe, it supports fast charging for both the iPhone and Apple Watch, but it's heavier.

  • Charges iPhone and Apple Watch quickly
  • Folds small for travel
  • Perfect for iOS 17 StandBy mode
  • Includes a 30W USB-C adapter and cable
  • A bit heavy

If you want something perfect for use both at home and on the go, Anker's 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe checks all the right boxes. Unlike many 3-in-1 chargers, which are either too bulky to be portable or lack support for quick charging, Anker's first official MagSafe charger excels in both aspects, all while maintaining a stylish and premium appeal.

The Cube features a true 15-watt MagSafe pad at the top that you can flip up to reveal a dedicated charging spot for your AirPods. Unlike the Mophie 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe, it holds your iPhone at an angle, making it easy to see notifications or even use StandBy mode. Additionally, it can quick-charge the latest Apple Watch models on its hidden, pop-out watch module.

When not in use, everything folds down into a compact 2.5-inch cube, so it takes up very little space in your travel bag or pocket. While you don't get a carrying case with this one, Anker includes a USB-C power adapter and cable—everything you need to charge your devices right away.

Budget price, packed with power

As long as you have the official Apple MagSafe charger, the Mophie 3-in-1 Stand for MagSafe Charger is an outstanding choice for charging your Apple iPhone and accessories. Not only does it provide the same 15W charging speeds as the Belkin BoostCharge PRO, but it's also a fraction of the price.

  • 15W fast wireless charging
  • High-quality and stylish design
  • Easy and accurate magnetic alignment
  • Requires an Apple MagSafe Charger

Those looking for an Apple charging station for multiple devices with MagSafe but don't want to splash out too much should consider the Mophie 3-in-1 Stand for MagSafe Charger. It comes with dedicated charging spots for your AirPods and Apple Watch and a slot for you to install the Apple MagSafe Charger to charge all your Apple devices at once.

You get 15W fast wireless charging speeds with MagSafe, just like the Belkin BoostCharge PRO 3-in-1 Wireless Charger, but at a much cheaper price. Thanks to MagSafe, you don't have to align your iPhone each time you want to charge it. The built-in Apple Watch charger puts your watch into Nightstand Mode to work as an alarm clock, ideal for a bedside table.

The only downside to this charging station is that you must have the official Apple MagSafe Charger to charge your iPhone. Otherwise, it's a well-thought-out charger that should please most Apple enthusiasts. It has a clean, matte white finish that blends well into a modern office or nightstand.

No MagSafe, no problem

The Belkin BoostCharge 3-in-1 Wireless Charger for Apple Devices is a great option if your iPhone doesn't support MagSafe. It's designed to work with older iPhones from the iPhone 8 series onward and includes dedicated charging spots for both your Apple Watch and AirPods.

  • Works with all iPhones that support wireless charging
  • Supports Nightstand mode for Apple Watch
  • Keeps your phone and Apple Watch in sight
  • Not compatible with Apple Watch Ultra

The Belkin BoostCharge 3-in-1 Wireless Charger for Apple Devices was one of the very first options to hit the market, and it's still a great choice for 3-in-1 charging, especially if you have an older iPhone that does not support MagSafe. It delivers up to 7.5W to the iPhone, which is slightly slower than the 15W supported by MagSafe, but it can still fully charge your phone overnight.

The stand charges your phone and Apple Watch in an ideal upright position for checking notifications or activating Nightstand mode for your watch. It works with all models of the Apple Watch except for the larger Ultra and Ultra 2. Drop your AirPods or AirPods Pro in the dedicated dock to charge and showcase all your Apple devices in style.

A major boost to battery life

What's better than charging three devices at once? How about charging five devices at once; the Satechi Dock5 Multi-Device Charging Station is the perfect charging solution for all of your Apple devices.

  • Charges up to five devices simultaneously
  • Sleek aluminum finish
  • Built-in power supply unit
  • Charging cables not included

The Satechi Dock5 Multi-Device Charging Station is well suited for a family or workspace as it can charge up to five devices simultaneously. It has two USB-C PD ports (up to 20W each), two USB-A ports (up to 12W each), and a Qi wireless charging pad (up to 10W), allowing you to charge multiple iPhones, iPads, and AirPods. There is no dedicated magnetic charger for the Apple Watch, but you can plug its stock charger into one of the USB ports.

With a space gray aluminum finish, the Dock5 fits perfectly into your existing Apple ecosystem. The silicone dividers help not only to protect your devices but also neatly organize them while charging. Its attractive pricing makes the Dock5 irresistible, especially if you have multiple devices in your household. However, you'll need to provide your own charging cables as the unit only comes with a power cable.

Buying the Best 3-in-1 Apple Charging Station

Everyone could use more battery life. With a wireless charging stand, getting more out of your Apple devices is as easy as setting it on a charging puck. However, there are a few key features you should be on the lookout for when purchasing a multi-device charging stand. First, find out about the charging efficiency.

Official MagSafe chargers can charge your iPhone at 15W, but Qi-certified charging stands will only buy you 7.5W. Qi charging stands typically come with a lower price point than their MagSafe alternatives, so you should determine whether you're after the most efficient charger or one that gets the job done at an affordable price.

You should also think about the design of the charger. Will it comfortably hold your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch? If you have a particularly large iPhone, like the iPhone 15 Pro Max, you may need a specific charger that allows for your phone's size. Almost everyone will be delighted by the Belkin 3-In-1 Wireless Charger With MagSafe (2nd Gen) stand, though. Not only does it offer the maximum 15W charging speed, but it also boasts a stylish design that won't stick out like a sore thumb on your desk or countertop.

The perfect, portable travel charging kit for Apple fans

adrian-kingsley-hughes

My portable charging kit.

The 5 best travel tech gadgets: Kit to stuff in your luggage

What is the best gear for travel? ZDNet's top choice is the NIU portable power pack/charger. But it's not the only tech gear you should bring with you on your travels.

I tend to go through phases of traveling heavy and traveling light.

Right now, I prefer the convenience and ease of traveling light , and that means no unnecessarily large chargers, enormous cables, or hefty power banks.

Here's the kit I've put together instead.

It's small, lightweight, portable, and perfect when traveling with my iPhone , Apple Watch , and AirPods .

1. A great multipurpose wireless charger

The Apple MagSafe Duo wireless charger is a fold-out charger that, for me, is ideal for travel. You can charge an iPhone and Apple Watch together on a nightstand, and you can pop your AirPods or AirPods Pro case onto the MagSafe charger when that needs the occasional power top-up.

The MagSafe Duo packs down small, but opens out into a super convenient charging station, with the added benefit of there being no annoying lights to keep you awake at night.

Also:   The best wireless charging pads

2. a charger to power the charging pad.

Don't let the tiny size fool you -- the Anker Nano II charger is mighty powerful (ignore the fact that I have the UK version here -- the US version is the same apart from the plug and the power it runs on).

This 30W charger is able to power the Apple MagSafe Duo charging pad when charging both an iPhone and Apple Watch, and it can double as a stand-alone charger when you want to get a faster charge than MagSafe will give you.

Anker Nano II 30W

3. a power bank.

This Baseus power bank is a great combination of technologies -- a 6,000mAh power bank (enough for close to a full charge on the biggest iPhones) capable of up to 15W wireless (7.5W on the iPhone) and 20W wired charging, and the convenience of being able to attach it to the iPhone using MagSafe.

A great bit of kit, and a lot cheaper than the Apple equivalent.

4. a charging cable.

Yup, you're going to need a cable. Apple's Lightning-to-USB-C cable is a good choice because you get a small, lightweight, yet durable cable that will power both your MagSafe Duo charger and your iPhone.

Which of the best portable travel chargers for Apple Watch should you choose?

With the new Qi2 charging standard now making its way to products, there's a host of new high-end Apple Watch travel chargers tapping into the higher-speeds that Qi2 offers.

The best we've seen so far, and the best Apple Watch travel charger overall as a result, is the Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station (Foldable 3-in-1) . With high-speed Apple Watch charging, 15W MagSafe for iPhone, and wireless charging for your AirPods, it's an all-rounder. It's only made better by the fact it also folds down to a compact brick, easily stowed away when travelling.

If you want something that's more suitable to a bedside table, we've got you covered there too with the best stands to charge both iPhone and Apple Watch . Though our Anker pick even features there too — we love it that much.

Whichever Apple Watch charger you choose, consider buying one that's MFi-certified. For a product to earn MFi certification, it must pass compliance and safety tests. The company must also pay Apple royalties to put this certification on their products, so it will cost a bit more. Whatever your portable charging needs are, we found the best portable travel Apple Watch charger for you on this list.

These charging stations can top off the iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch simultaneously.

If you buy something from the links on this page, we may earn a commission. Why Trust Us?

Thanks to technologies such as MagSafe and the latest inductive Qi wireless charging standard, Qi2, these charging stations provide support for fast charging and a secure magnetic connection for precise alignment. With these advancements, charging stations have become a must-have accessory, whether you're charging at your desk or nightstand . We spent several hours researching, testing, and comparing chargers from leading accessory makers such as Anker, Belkin, and Nomad to help you find the best Apple charging station worth gifting.

Best Apple Charging Stations

  • Best Overall: Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand
  • Best Budget: STM ChargeTree Swing 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station
  • Most Versatile: Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe Charging Station
  • Most Compact: TwelveSouth Butterfly
  • Best Travel Charger: Mophie 3-in-1 Travel Charger with MagSafe

What to Consider

While Apple charging stations share the single goal of recharging devices, they all vary greatly in size, shape, appearance, and features. The main differences between them are how many devices they hold, their charging speeds, and whether or not they use MagSafe. MagSafe is a technology from Apple that uses a system of built-in magnets to allow compatible accessories to seamlessly snap onto the back of an iPhone.

Flat Versus Elevated

Before shopping for an Apple charging station, be sure to decide whether you want a charger that elevates your iPhone and doubles as a viewing stand or if you’d prefer a charging pad that rests on a flat surface. A vertical stand is a must-have if you own an iPhone 14 Pro or an iPhone 15 Pro. Their always-on displays will allow them to double as useful smart displays or fancy picture frames in StandBy mode — an awesome new feature brought by iOS 17.

Vertical charging stands look great on a desk, where you can glance at the iPhone throughout the day. Meanwhile, a flat charging pad works well on a nightstand, where devices may sit overnight. If you're looking for a more streamlined appearance, flat is the way to go, but elevated gives you more options for display.

Power Output

Our recommended MagSafe charging stations have a maximum power output of 15 watts, which means that they can replenish a compatible iPhone battery at full speed. We also advise that you shop for a product that has MFi certification, which stands for “Made for iPod, iPhone, and iPad.” It's a program that ensures that accessory makers use Apple-approved safe parts in the manufacturing process.

Wireless chargers equipped with new Qi2 technology are a solid alternative to chargers that are MagSafe-certified. Developed by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), Qi2 chargers will offer faster charging speeds and mandate the magnet's strength, size, and dimensions. Importantly, Qi2-certified chargers are cheaper than models that are MagSafe-certified but can still charge compatible devices (like the iPhone 13, 14, and 15) at up to 15 watts.

Lastly, take note of whether the charging station comes with a power brick, as several big-name offerings do not. Thankfully, getting such an accessory is not too expensive these days. You can snag a great adapter for $20 or less.

Find the best Apple wireless charging station for yourself or someone you care about among the thoroughly scrutinized products below. Our favorite picks will ensure you and your loved ones won’t get interrupted by a low-battery notification halfway through the day.

How We Selected

We've been testing charging stations since Apple introduced wireless charging to its iPhone in 2017. For this guide, we relied on first-hand testing, expert and user reviews, and industry research of products from leading brands, ensuring they meet our strict criteria. That includes, at a minimum, the ability to charge multiple devices at once and MFi certification. In addition, we considered features like the charging station's design (i.e., whether it's flat or elevated) and its maximum power output. By carefully considering these important charging station features, every option on our list will help the Apple user in your life replenish all their devices efficiently and conveniently. Whether they prefer a sleek, minimalist design or an elevated station, our recommendations cater to various preferences while delivering reliable performance.

Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe Charging Station

3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe Charging Station

The 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe by Anker is a fantastic alternative to our top pick, offering fast charging speeds for Apple gear in a more compact and versatile form at the same price point. Impressively, the gadget has a MagSafe dock with adjustable angles, so you can opt to charge your iPhone while elevated or flat, with the former a must for taking advantage of Standby Mode in iOS 17. Lifting the MagSafe dock reveals a spot for powering up AirPods or other compatible earbuds, while the right side of the station is home to a retractable Apple Watch charging dock. We love that the charger looks like a small cube (hence the name), not a tech accessory when not in use.

The compact design makes the 3-in-1 Cube a reliable travel companion. And in case you can’t find a spot for the 14-ounce gadget while packing, keep in mind that its 30-watt USB-C adapter is great for individually charging phones, tablets, and countless small gadgets. One satisfied customer writes, “I particularly like the ability to slant the iPhone screen while charging. It makes it so easy to adapt the viewing angle to whatever I am doing. The ease of using the Apple Standby mode is automatic and makes your iPhone a really nice bedside alarm clock while charging.”

Key Features

Belkin magsafe 3-in-1 wireless charging stand.

MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand

If your loved one has an iPhone 12 series or newer, I recommend this three-in-one charger from Belkin, which is arguably the ultimate Apple charging station. The accessory flaunts a timelessly cool design with stainless steel arms. The Belkin comes in black or white, so it’ll also blend in with many décor and style preferences.

The charging station features a MagSafe charger to juice up an iPhone and a magnetic charging module for an Apple Watch, plus a spot to wirelessly charge AirPods. It supports the fastest charging speeds, doesn’t take up too much room on a table, and allows a smartphone to charge in either landscape or portrait mode.

One reviewer says, “The Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand is a premium solution that lives up to its higher price point, delivering exceptional build quality and functionality. From the moment you handle the stand, its solid feel and substantial weight become apparent. This weightiness proves invaluable when attaching and detaching my iPhone and Apple Watch from the magnetic connector.”

Another neat touch? It has an LED light onboard that shines red when devices are misaligned. When it’s white, your giftee will know that everything is working as intended.

STM ChargeTree Swing 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station

ChargeTree Swing 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station

The STM ChargeTree Swing is the charging station to get if you are shopping on a tight budget. Priced well below $100 before additional deals and discounts, the accessory has a Qi wireless charging stand that’s compatible with iPhone and Android phones , a charging pad for AirPods and other compatible wireless earbuds, and a swiveling Apple Watch dock.

We like the retractable watch dock because it makes the clutter-reducing ChargeTree Swing even more space-efficient when charging Apple’s timepiece isn’t necessary (e.g., the Apple Watch Ultra can last for days on a single charge). The feature is also convenient for sharing the ChargeTree with an Apple Watch-toting household member.

Another bit we like about the STM ChargeTree Swing is that every charging surface it has features a convenient light indicator. Such functionality is missing on many pricier rivals. You can order the product in black or white.

Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Charging Pad

MagSafe 3-in-1 Charging Pad

The Belkin 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad features a modern, minimalist aesthetic that's perfect for nightstands. The versatile charging pad supports MagSafe and delivers fast wireless charging, with space to simultaneously charge an iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch.

Similar to the Nomad Base One Max, the Belkin has a satisfying heft, weighing nearly 1 lb. Although it's primarily made of plastic, it has a high-end matte finish and non-slip surface, ensuring devices stay in place while charging. The MagSafe charging puck is elevated off the pad's surface, a clever design that allows users to easily pick up their iPhone. Meanwhile, the Apple Watch charger can be flipped up to support the device in Nightstand mode.

Thankfully, the Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad comes with a 40-watt AC adapter, unlike the Nomad Base One Max. At 9.3 inches wide, Belkin's charging pad requires a lot of room on a nightstand or desk. Still, its beautiful design and ability to charge three devices simultaneously makes it an excellent 3-in-1 charger.

Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station

MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station

Charging stations can be big and bulky, taking up precious space on a desk or nightstand. The Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station is roughly the size of a deck of cards when folded, yet can expand to charge an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods all at once. The stand, which charges the iPhone, can flip up to reveal a charging pad for Apple's wireless earbuds. Meanwhile, a puck flips out from the base, providing a dedicated space for charging the Apple Watch.

As a bonus, the Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station comes with a 40-watt AC adapter, so it isn't necessary to buy one separately. Anker's charging station is part of a wave of devices that support the new Qi2 standard, which delivers an output of up to 15 watts and uses rings of magnets to ensure proper alignment. Anker's charging station also has Apple MFW certification, or "Made for Watch," designating it as an accessory that is specifically designed for the Apple Watch.

The fact that the Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station is so compact means it can slide into a jacket pocket or backpack easily. In addition to the 40-watt USB-C charger, the MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station comes with a 5 foot USB-C to USB-C cable.

Nomad Base One Max

Base One Max

The Base One Max charging station by Nomad sets itself apart from similarly priced rivals by featuring a low-key design and a high-quality build. Crafted using metal and glass, the Apple accessory makes its rivals look (and feel) generic in comparison. It also delivers fast charging speeds for iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods.

Upon unboxing the Base One Max, we were impressed by its craftsmanship and tactility. Weighing almost 1 lb., the Apple charging station will instantly treat you or the gift recipient to a sense of quality that’s not typical for this product category.

Overall, the Base One Max is an amazing buy if you value design and craftsmanship and don’t mind charging your iPhone only horizontally. You can order the product in carbide or silver. Its bundled USB-C cable with a matching color is also decidedly upmarket, but dropping $150 would not get you a charging adapter.

OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank with MagSafe

2-in-1 Power Bank with MagSafe

Want to charge multiple Apple gadgets without plugging into a power outlet? OtterBox’s battery-powered charger features a full-speed MagSafe charger, an Apple Watch dock, and a fast USB-C port for powering up other devices and replenishing their batteries. The latter has a robust 10,000 mAh capacity, allowing it to charge an iPhone, an Apple Watch, and a set of wireless earbuds with power to spare.

We were impressed by the gadget’s versatility during our testing. The MagSafe and Apple Watch charging docks can accommodate devices in a flat or a vertical position. This means that, depending on your preferences and the iPhone model you own, there’s an option to choose between using the Apple Watch in nightstand mode or a compatible iPhone with iOS 17 and Standby on.

The product’s retail package includes a bundled USB-C cable, which, measuring 1.6 ft (0.5m) in length, could be a tad longer. Considering that you or the gift recipient probably have such a cable already, this is definitely not a dealbreaker.

Belkin MagSafe 2-in-1 Charging Station

MagSafe 2-in-1 Charging Station

The Belkin 2-in-1 wireless charger is nearly identical to our best overall pick, with the only major difference being that it doesn’t have a place to charge an Apple Watch. It’s a good option for folks who don’t have a smartwatch and for anyone who wants to gift a sleek Belkin charger for a budget of just under $100.

As you’d expect, the Belkin can simultaneously charge an iPhone and a set of AirPods at their fastest charging speeds. Since the iPhone is magnetically attached, it can be used in portrait or landscape mode. (And can easily be placed back in the middle of the night when you pull it off to check your phone after going to the bathroom.)

I keep this charger on my nightstand to charge my devices before bed, but have found that this wireless charger makes an excellent accessory for Facetime calls or watching videos, as well.

Mophie 3-in-1 Travel Charger with MagSafe

3-in-1 Travel Charger with MagSafe

This triple MagSafe-compatible charger is perfect for folks who travel, since it folds up to the size of a compact mirror. It has dedicated spots for juicing up an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods.

Compared to Apple’s MagSafe Duo, the Mophie charger comes with a detachable USB-C cable and 30-watt power adapter, which can be stored in an included felt carrying pouch. (As a comparison, Apple’s charger only includes a Lightning-to-USB-C cable.)

This one has an extra charging slot as well. Even better? The device's charging speeds won't slow down if it's also charging an Apple Watch. This is not the case if you're recharging an iPhone and the Watch simultaneously using Apple's MagSafe Duo charger.

TwelveSouth Butterfly

Butterfly

Following the release of the iPhone 15, Apple stopped selling the MagSafe Duo (although it’s still available at third-party retailers), our previous portable pick. Luckily, the ultra-portable TwelveSouth Butterfly fills that gap. The 2-in-1 charger features two aluminum-clad charging pads — one is MagSafe and the other is an Apple Watch charger — tethered by a vegan leather strap.

Cleverly, the TwelveSouth Butterfly features magnets on both sides of the charging pads to securely close for travel. The magnets also allow the pucks to open back to back, forming a kickstand for the iPhone's Standby Mode. The TwelveSouth Butterfly can charge a compatible iPhone at 15 watts and delivers fast charging to all Apple Watch models. It can also charge any AirPods that support wireless charging.

At $129, the Butterfly is on the expensive side for a 2-in-1. However, it does include a 30-watt power adapter, four international plug adapters, and a 3.3 foot USB-C to USB-C cable, so you won't need to buy anything extra. Our biggest gripe with the Butterfly is the magnetic connection is so strong the entire charger will lift when removing the iPhone. Users will need to use two hands — one to grab the iPhone and the other to peel off the charger.

There’s nothing worse than grabbing your phone or laptop while traveling and realizing your battery is completely drained. A portable charger is one of the most useful travel items, especially when you find yourself in a tricky situation with no access to an outlet. Whether you’re exploring in a campervan and need a hefty charger to handle your laptop, or boarding a plane and in need of something super compact to charge your smartphone, there’s a portable charger for all types of travelers’ needs so you don’t find yourself in a powerless pickle.

With so many choices on the market, we’ve narrowed down your search by prioritizing features like weight and size for portability, functionality, power, and battery capacity. These are the 14 best portable chargers of 2024 to make sure you stay connected wherever you go.

Best Overall

Nimble champ portable charger.

It’s lightweight and pocket-sized.

If you need more capacity, consider upgrading to the Pro version which provides 20,000 mAh.

The Nimble Champ is “smaller than a deck of cards” and incredibly lightweight, making it an ideal travel companion. This tiny but mighty backup charger comes in a spectrum of colors, allowing you to match it to your personality. It’s also extremely functional, with the ability to charge two devices at once and compatibility with a wide array of phones, tablets, Apple MacBooks, and fitness trackers. The dual USB-C power delivery offers high-speed charging to almost any device and the capacity to charge most smartphones up to three times. In fact, with this charger, you can get your smartphone back up to an 80 percent charge in just half an hour. The included lanyard makes it easy to tote around, whether on your wrist or attached to your bag. We also love that it’s crafted out of 90 percent certified recycled plastics with a free e-waste recycling option for your old, unused devices.

The Details: 3.38 x 2.28 x 0.98 inches  | 6.2 ounces | 10,000 mAh | 1 USB-C, 1 USB-A

Best With Built-in Cords

Charmast portable charger.

It can charge up to six devices at the same time.

The attached cords are short.

The slim and travel-friendly Portable Charger with Built-in Cables on Amazon is our top choice for those who need a variety of included cords for multiple devices. With six outputs and three inputs, this charging device is ideal for people with an array of different types of electronics, from smartphones to tablets, and micro devices. Its lightweight and slim profile make it easy to throw in your bag without taking up too much space. Each included cable can be tucked into the back of the device, keeping things organized so you don’t have to spend time untangling a mess of wires. Check the digital display screen to keep track of how much battery is left on your backup charger so you can plan appropriately (and it will take between four and a half to six hours to fully recharge). When at full capacity, this backup charger can power up your smartphone twice, your tablet up to 1.5 times, and much more.

The Details: 5.71 x 2.68 x 0.51 inches | 0.63 ounces | 10,000 mAh | USB-C, Micro USB, built-in charging USB-A cable (input); 2 USB-A and 1 USB-C and built-in Micro USB, USB-C, and Lightning cables (output)

Most Compact

Tntor portable charger for iphone.

It has a built-in lightning cable for charging iPhones.

Phones with USB-C ports (like Androids and newer iPhones) will need to supply their own C to C cable to charge.

The ultra slim Tntor Portable Charger for iPhone wins the award for “most compact” with a 6-millimeter thickness and credit card size. Specifically designed for iPhone users, the built-in cord means it’s ready to charge and you don’t have to tote around a separate cord. At 5,000 mAh, this charger is carry-on compatible and can charge not just your iPhone, but other lightning-equipped devices including an iPad, iPad mini, and AirPods. This is an ideal charger for those who don’t need to charge multiple devices and only need to top off their iPhone en route to their next destination. It offers one full charge when at 100 percent capacity and requires a three-hour charging time. The Intelligent Control Circuit feature protects your devices from overcharging, as well as other problematic issues such as over-voltage, short circuiting, temperature protection, and over-current.

The Details: 4.84 x 2.6 x .24 inches | 4 ounces | 5,000 mAh | USB-C (input); built-in Lightning cable (output)

Best Wireless

Podoru wireless portable charger.

Paired with a magnetic case, it can charge right on the back of your phone without a cord.

It will only work with a magnetic case (purchased separately) and is compatible with iPhone 12 series and higher.

Indulge in the luxury of leaving your cords behind with the Podoru Wireless Portable Charger that can power up to three devices with its magnetic charging capability. Compact with an impressive capacity to recharge your phone up to two and a half times, it’s an ideal option for travelers or those on the go for long stretches of time. The LED display shows how much battery is left in your charger — and, if you need to top off other devices in addition to your phone, two extra input and output ports allow you to do so. There are eight built-in low temperature ice cores and a protective safety system not just for temperature control, but also short circuit and overcharging protection as well. Thanks to its silicone shell, it’s easy to grip and with a soft exterior that won’t scrape your device when connected magnetically.

The Details: 5.67 x 3.43 x 0.94 inches | 6.5 ounces | 10,000 mAh | USB-A (output); USB-C (input/output)

Best With Stand

Aoguerbe magnetic power bank.

The stand is foldable and compact.

It’s a little bulkier than other models we’ve seen.

We love the folding stand that’s built into the design of the Aoguerbe Magnetic Power Bank. It allows you to charge your iPhone without the hassle of a bunch of cords when paired with a magnetic phone case. Charge up to three devices at a time, with the capacity to bring your iPhone to 100 percent up to two times per fully charged power bank. The included stand folds down to keep the compact profile of the power bank and can be used to keep your phone upright in either a vertical or horizontal orientation. The charger also won’t block your camera lens, so you can easily continue to use your phone while it’s being charged. Built-in temperature control and other safety protection helps ensure this device won’t damage your phone or overheat.

The Details: 4.09 x 2.68 x 0.86 inches | 6.7 ounces | 10,000 mAh | USB-C and Lighting (input); USB-C and USB-A (output)

Best for Tablets

Eggtronic laptop power bank.

It can charge your tablet up to four times.

Due to its powerful capacity, it’s larger and heavier than comparable power bank models.

We love the powerhouse Eggtronic Laptop Power Bank for so many reasons: it has the capacity to charge multiple devices twice as fast as standard models, and boasts a relatively compact size and sleek design. This universally compatible power bank can refuel the battery on not just your smartphone or tablet, but also laptops, cameras, bluetooth devices, and more. The LCD display shows the current battery life so you can stay up to date on its capacity. This durable device is a great travel companion for anyone; from professionals that need to stay in touch on the road, to those exploring the great outdoors on a multi-day camping trip. When it’s time to recharge the power bank itself, it’ll only take about three hours which is impressive for such a powerful device.

The Details: 6.75 x 4 x 0.63 inches | 1.34 lbs | 20,000 mAh | 2 USB-A (output); USB-C (input/output)

Best for Laptops

Anker 747 power bank.

It can fully charge an entire MacBook Air.

It’s rather heavy — and expensive — if not using it to charge laptops often.

For travelers who are working en route to their destination and need to keep their laptop consistently charged, the Anker 747 Power Bank is our top choice. Compatible with a wide range of brands including Dell and Apple, this power bank can refuel computer batteries in anywhere from two to three hours. Charge up to four devices at once, and enjoy the long-lasting capacity that can power an iPhone 13 Pro up to five times before needing to be charged itself. Paired with the included Anker 65W 515 wall charger, this power bank can reach 100 percent in two and a half hours versus more than 17 hours without. Built-in sensors offer advanced temperature control to make sure the device doesn’t overheat while the battery management system prevents overcharging.

The Details: 7.2 x 3.23 x 0.95 in | 1.34 pounds | 25,600 mAh | 2 USB-C, 2 USB-A

Best Multi-device Charging

Anker prime 27,650mah power bank.

It charges three devices at once.

This charger is over the mAh limit for traveling on some airplanes, so it’s best to check with the airline before bringing it with you on board.

For those who need a power bank that can charge multiple devices (and fast), the Anker Prime 27,650 mAH Power Bank is a fantastic choice. While not necessary to use, the accompanying app shows you up-to-date stats, and can also help to locate your power bank with sound alerts should you misplace it. This exceptionally functional power bank can recharge a smartphone more than four times and a MacBook Air more than once before needing to be reloaded. Using the dual USB-C ports, the power bank itself can be recharged in less than 40 minutes. As a bonus, this soda-can-sized charging bank comes with its own travel pouch. The built-in active shield prevents the charger from overheating and other safety issues.

The Details: 6.37 x 1.96 x 2.24 inches | 1.47 lbs | 27,650 mAh |  USB-C, Lightning (input); USB-C, USB-A (output)

Best Fast Charging

Ugreen 145w power bank.

It can charge a MacBook Air in 90 minutes.

While compact, it’s a bit heavier than other models.

Not only does the Ugreen 145W Power Bank charge devices quickly, but it also can be charged back to 100 percent in under two hours using the two-way fast charging. This requires an additional purchase of a 65W charger . Because it has 145 watts in output, it can recharge a laptop more than once and a smartphone more than five times all at a rapid speed. The smart digital display keeps you in the loop with how much battery is left in the power bank. It’s also compatible with so many devices, from smartphones to drones, that you won’t be limited with what you can charge as you travel. With three ports, you can charge a few devices at a time as well.

The Details: 6.3 x 3.18 x 1.05 inches | 1.11 lbs | 25,000 mAh | 1 USB-C, 1 USB-A (output); 1 USB-C (input/output)

Best LED Display

Vnbbt magnetic wireless power bank.

The display shows both the available charge left on the device and the progress of the item it’s charging.

It’s not compatible with non-magnetic phone cases.

Take the guesswork out of charging when using the Vnbbt Magnetic Wireless Power Bank, thanks to its incredibly accurate LED display feature. It can be fully charged for your travels within two and a half to four hours. Its ultra compact, lightweight design makes it easy to bring along with you. The material is non-slip so you don’t have to worry about grip being an issue while using the magnetic charger paired with a magnetic phone case. The display is simple, quickly informing you of how much charge is left to go and how much is on the power bank itself so you can plan accordingly. Charge your iPhone in less than 45 minutes and power up two other devices at the same time.

The Details: 7.87 x 3.94 x 0.79 inches | 8.1 ounces | 10,000 mAh | USB-C (input/output), USB-A (output), and magnetic wireless charging

Best for Android

Iwalk small usb c portable charger.

It’s lipstick-sized and very portable.

The battery life isn’t that impressive compared to other power banks.

Specifically designed for Android users, this tiny portable charger easily fits in a bag or even your pocket. The iWalk charger is cordless as well, so you don’t need to provide a cord or untangle wires when you want to use it; simply plug it directly into the USB-C port. Although there isn’t an LED display to show the percentage of battery left, there are indicator lights to track the power level. It’s designed to prevent over-charging, short circuiting, and temperature control while using as well, so you can have peace of mind if you need to step away. In general, it takes approximately two and a half hours to recharge this portable device.

The Details: 3 x 1.8 x 1 inches | 0.071 ounces | 4,500 mAh | USB-C (input), USB-C (output)

Best With A/C Outlet

Sinkeu portable laptop phone charger.

It includes an actual plug as well as a cord for charging via a car cigarette lighter.

There are no slots for a USB-C.

For a power bank with an actual built-in plug, the SinKeu 65 Watt Portable Laptop Phone Charger is our top pick because of its portability and versatility. This power bank is fantastic for charging laptops, tablets, and other compatible devices like certain camera batteries (65 watts and under) that need a typical plug port. The 12V port is great for recharging speakers and other devices that require that output, while the 5V port is perfect for refueling your cell phone up to eight times before needing to be recharged itself. For compatible laptop models, it can provide a full charge twice, making this a great option for travelers with a wide array of devices. The included cigarette lighter plug makes it possible to recharge this power bank in your car as well. To fully recharge, it takes approximately four hours.

The Details: 6.8 x 3.8 x 1.8 inches | 1.1 lbs | 24,000 mAh | 2 USB-A, 110V AC outlet, 15V (input), 12V (output)

Best Colors

Charmast small portable charger.

It’s small and comes in a fun spectrum of colors.

It’s difficult to plug your phone into the charger if you have a case.

We love the colors and size of the Charmast Small Portable Charger that can easily fit in your pocket or purse. This charger has the ability to be fully recharged within an hour and a half when using a 9V-2A fast charger (or three hours with a standard one). Although it doesn’t have the capacity to fully power your smartphone back to 100 percent, it can provide up to 65 percent charge which is a great option for most travelers who just need to top up a device throughout their journey. It can, however, recharge AirPods up to six times. With no additional cords needed, plug it directly into your phone’s lightning port (and it’s also offered with a USB-C instead for Google, Samsung or iPhone 15 devices). With colors like pink, green, blue, orange, black, and white, you can match this portable charger to your phone’s case (or whatever suits your mood!)

The Details: 1.38 x 3.03 x 0.97 inches | 4.7 ounces | 5,000 mAh | USB-C (input), Lightning port (output)

Best With Wall Plug

Brand q ultra slim portable charger.

It’s ultra slim and offers 5-in-1 types of charging.

The built-in cords are stiff and not easy to manipulate.

We love that the built-in wall plug on the Q Slim Portable Charger folds into the power bank to keep a slim profile for transport and that this option comes with its own case. With three included cords, this universal charger is ideal for all types of phones, and you won’t have to bring additional cords along on your adventures. Most phones can be charged between two and a half to four times before needing to recharge the power bank. The included “Intelligent Power Management IC” makes sure your devices will be protected from short circuit, overheating, and overcurrent issues while in use. Another great feature is that you can charge your phone from the power bank while also charging the power bank from the wall plug.

The Details: 6.29 x 2.95 x 0.6 inches | 12.1 ounces |  10,000 mAh | Micro USB, AC (input); Lightning, USB-C, Micro USB (output)

Tips for Buying Portable Chargers

Consider charge potential and timing.

When shopping for a portable power bank, one of the main features to look out for is the capacity for fully charging your devices, especially your smartphone. If you have long travel days with little opportunity to plug your phone in and your backup charger can only offer half a charge to top it off, that may not work for you. Another thing to consider is how long it will take to recharge each of your important devices, as well as the length of time it will take to recharge the power bank itself. Most people can recharge a power bank overnight if it takes more than a couple of hours, but you need to look at your precise needs while on the go.

Decide how much capacity you need

All of the numbers referring to capacity in mAh and watt hours can be a little tricky to understand when deciding what you’ll need. The term mAh means “milliampere-hour” and measures the units of electric charge, or how much power it can hold. This will be the difference between being able to charge just one device at a time versus multiple, and/or charging your phone multiple times or even a laptop at all. If you just need to top off your phone and keep it from getting to zero percent, something below 5,000mAh should do the trick. If you need to charge your phone constantly or have more than one device, something more than 10,000mAh might be for you.

Since the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) have rules for rechargeable batteries and power banks measured in the max watt hours allowed, you’ll need to know how to convert the mAh listed for the power bank or charger into watt hours to see if your device can come along with you. To do this, you’ll need to multiply milliamp hours by volts then divide by 1,000. So, if you take the Eggtronic Laptop Power Bank listed above, it’s 20,000mAh at 5V, making it equivalent to 100 watt hours.

The FAA and TSA state that any spare battery with more than 100 watt hours or 27,000mAh needs to have approval from the airline.

Look at the types and numbers of ports

One of the most important aspects of choosing a power bank is to make sure it will be compatible with your devices. The last thing you want is to purchase a back-up charger that’s only suitable for an iPhone when you have an Android. There are numerous options that offer more than one type of port. The most common inputs and outputs are USB-A and USB-C, as well as lightning ports (for Apple devices). Some models offer a wall plug or cigarette lighter adapter as well, perfect for those who need to charge a device from the car or have to charge something with a physical plug.

It’s important to note that regulations will have lightning ports outdated for future iPhones due to the European Union’s ruling that all smartphones need to have the USB-C charging port in common.

A portable charger or power bank is a great back-up solution to ensure you don’t run out of battery on your devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops. They provide an extra lithium-ion battery-powered source that can connect to a wide array of devices, depending on their ports or magnetic charging capabilities. When connected, they transfer their stored energy to the electronic device plugged in. Typically, they are small enough to fit in your bag without taking up too much space, and some are even compact enough to fit in your pocket.

Yes, it’s possible to bring most portable chargers on an airplane, though there are restrictions to abide by: it’ll have to stay in your carry-on luggage that you’ll have with you in the cabin, as it can’t be in a checked bag. It also can’t possess more than 100Wh (watt-hours) or 27,000 mAh capacity. If your power bank has a larger capacity than this, you’ll need approval from the airline.

The Foldable, 3-in-1 Charging Station Every Traveler Should Pack

This post contains references to products from one or more of our advertisers. We may receive compensation when you click on links to those products. For an explanation of our Advertising Disclosure, visit this page .

One of my constant frustrations when traveling is keeping all of my devices charged. Over the years, the number of products I use that require charging has grown considerably. It’s no longer just my phone and computer. Now, many of us have to charge a watch, a Kindle, tablets, earbuds and headphones. It’s a lot. RELATED: The Tech Organizer All Travelers Need

Add to that the fact that I am generally traveling with my husband and two kids and it means there are even more devices to charge, more cords and cables to pack and definitely not enough outlets in any hotel room.

First things first, when it comes to traveling with electronic devices, I always pack everything up in a sleek and compact travel tech organizing case. It’s the only way I can keep my sanity and always know exactly where all my chargers and cords are. I particularly like this BagSmart tech organizing case because of its size and durability but there are lots to choose from, which you can check out here . TIP: I also label every charging block so I know exactly what it’s for because my iPad charger is different from my iPhone charger, and my Kindle charger is different from the one used to charge my earbuds. It’s confusing and annoying and so frustrating if you’re trying to find something in a hurry. I label my chargers with neon-colored Post-Its and tape. I've found that a little bit of advance prep and organization goes a long way towards minimizing aggravation.

When I travel, I’m always looking for ways to streamline things and minimize the number of things I have to pack. I recently stumbled upon this foldable three-in-one charging station and it’s perfect for travel. Compact and easily portable, it can charge an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods all at the same time.

When not used to charge your devices, it folds in on itself to become a phone stand so it’s useful for FaceTime calls or watching a show.

Here's what some recent Amazon reviewers had to say:

Buy the three-in-one foldable charger here . NOTE: At the time of this publication, it is 20% off. Regular price: $49.99; sale price: $39.99.

If you're an Android user, this charging station works the same way and is also foldable, making it perfectly portable for travel. NOTE: At the time of this publication, it is 37% off. Regular price: $59.99; sale price: $37.79.
