Why Fans Should Definitely Consider Checking Out 'SYTYCD' On Tour

so you think you can dance tour dates

Summer's favorite long-running reality series, So You Think You Can Dance , will crown America's favorite dancer on Monday, Sept. 10 at 8 p.m. E.T. on Fox. But if you're not quite ready to say goodbye to the uber-talented cast of Season 15, you're in luck. Every year, the top 10 SYTYCD finalists of each season travel across the U.S. together, performing their best, most memorable routines from the season. If you lose your mind over a perfectly executed arabesque on the show, imagine how fantastic the dancers are after even more rehearsal. While the sounds of all that cheering and screaming might be distracting when you're watching TV, it's pretty freakin' exciting when you're there IRL. So, how do you get tickets to see the So You Think You Can Dance live tour ?

First, you'll have to head over to the official live tour website for SYTYCD and check out if they're coming to a city near you. Unfortunately, the group only tours from Oct. 13 to Dec. 9, so you might have to hustle if you want to make sure you can get tickets for the whole fam.

The touring group consists of everyone who made it into the top 10 finalists. That's Jensen Arnold, Hanalei Cabanilla, Genessy Castillo, Evan DeBenedetto, Jay Jay Dixonbey, Magdalena Fialek, Darius Hickman, Chelsea Hough, Cole Mills, and Slavik Pustovoytov. And this year, turning the top 10 into a dynamic dozen are All-Stars Lauren (Season 7 Winner) and Cyrus (Season 9 Runner-Up).

And it gets better. According to the official website, choreographer Mandy Moore and director Raj Kapoor will be adding some brand new routines to the lineup that are exclusively for the live tour.

The prices of the tickets vary depending on where you see the show, where you choose to sit, and whether or not you opt for a VIP package, but they range from around $30 to nearly $500. For instance, cheap seats in the back of the mezzanine at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, Washington, are just $35.50. But if you opt for the Front Row Meet & Greet Package at the Overture Center in Madison, Wisconsion, that'll run you a hefty $469.

From personal experience, I can tell you that the live show brings twice the energy of what you get on the TV screen. The Season 3 tour was — in my then-14-year-old opinion — far superior to the televised version, and not just because I got to sit in the same theater as Neil Haskell. The energy of the crowd and the individuality that comes with live performance made everything feel that much more exhilarating. The high quality of production rivaled that of a pop concert, but with the sole emphasis on dancing. In the decade since I've seen it, I still remember the sheer excitement as Hok made a special appearance to dance "The Hummingbird & The Flower" with Jaimie, and they way they absolutely slayed it.

So if you're not quite ready to say goodbye to Slavik and Genessy's chemistry or Jensen's charm, then you should definitely book your tix ASAP. If you love to tune in to watch your favorite dancers perform live each week on SYTCD , then the actual live performance on the SYTYCD Season 15 tour is something you won't want to miss.

So You Think You Can Dance season 17: next episodes, judges and everything we know about the reality show

After nearly three years off the air, the hit dancing competition is back.

Cat Deeley hosting So You Think You Can Dance

So You Think You Can Dance is finally back after a three-year hiatus from the airwaves. This is much-welcomed news for fans who missed seeing some of America’s most talented dancers hit the stage to perform different styles of dance, including contemporary, hip-hop, ballroom and more.

Fans wanting to hear Mary Murphy’s infamous "woo" or Nigel Lythgoe’s blunt critique of the competitors are going to be slightly disappointed to hear that neither has returned for the new season. As a matter of fact, the entire panel of judges for season 17 is new, with only one of them having deep ties to the series. Thankfully, these recently added members of the So You Think You Can Dance family are led by long-time host Cat Deeley.

Here’s everything we know about So You Think You Can Dance season 17.

When is the next So You Think You Can Dance season 17 episode?

It's finale night on Fox. The last two contestants square off on the So You Think You Can Dance season 17 finale. Here's what viewers can expect to see on the episode debuting on Wednesday, August 10, at 9 pm ET/PT:

"The final two competitors must impress the judges and voting audience one last time before the winner is crowned. The two finalists must dance five performances each before the audience decides who outperformed the other and wins the $100,000."

So You Think You Can Dance season 17 judges

As already mentioned, So You Think You Can Dance season 17 has an all-new panel of judges. Having been both a contestant and judge on the series, it seems only right that Stephen Laurel Boss, aka tWitch, anchors the new panel.

tWitch first graced television screens when he finished as runner-up on So You Think You Can Dance season 4. Since then, he has gone on to star in a few of the Step Up movies and 2007’s Hairspray , has become a staple on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and has had his dance moves featured on numerous other projects.

Joining tWitch on the panel is child star JoJo Siwa. Siwa has become quite the entertainer since her early days on Lifetime’s Dance Moms . The dancer turned actress and pop star is the lone voice of Generation Z on the panel.

Although Matthew Morrison ( Glee , American Horror Story ) was originally on tap as a judge for the show, as reported in People , show producers opted to part ways with him.

On a side note, for fans wondering why Nigel Lythgoe is not returning to the series onscreen, he simply addressed his absence by saying he wasn’t asked to return.

I am so thrilled that America’s young aspiring dance talent will get to work with some of our greatest creative choreographers. On a personally sad note, I have not been asked to be on the judging panel this season. I don’t know who will be saying “Cue Music” but I wish them well March 4, 2022

So You Think You Can Dance season 17 host

Leading the way in casting duties for So You Think You Can Dance season 17 is Cat Deeley. Deeley has received five Emmy Award nominations for her previous time hosting the series, proving that she and the dancing competition fit together like peanut butter and jelly.

Each week, contestants will compete in new, intense dance challenges that will give them a real taste of the career, from performing in a music video or a football halftime show to going toe-to-toe on stage with a Broadway performer. In the end, it will be up to the judges to decide their fate.

Eliminations will take place weekly, with the Top 3 finalists competing in the season’s spectacular finale, but only one will win the $100,000 grand prize and the highly coveted title of So You Think You Can Dance champion.

This season will also debut new storytelling elements to further capture the authentic ups and downs experienced by professional dancers. For the first time ever, in addition to the big spectacle dance numbers that So You Think You Can Dance has long been famous for, viewers will get a documentary-style inside look at the contestants’ dynamics.

Viewers will get to follow contestants throughout the competition as they go through their personal and competitive journeys, including the daily struggles, new relationships, personality clashes and more.

These new dimensions to the show’s format reflect and celebrate its consistency in launching illustrious dance careers for its contestants, who can be found in the dance troupes for superstar musical acts, on Broadway stages, on every dance show on TV and beyond.

Each year, amateurs gain the experience and exposure to launch successful careers, and the real-world challenges of the 18th season will prove their professional readiness more than ever. Last year, ballroom dancer Alexis Warr from Orem, UT was named the winner of So You Think You Can Dance during the live two-hour season finale on FOX. Warr waltzed off with the grand prize winnings and prestigious title of “America’s Favorite Dancer.”

Over the course of its 17 seasons, So You Think You Can Dance has received 72 Emmy Award nominations and garnered 17 Emmy Award wins, including Outstanding Choreography for Al Blackstone (2020); Mandy Moore (2018); Travis Wall (2017, 2015); Mia Michaels (2011, 2010 and 2007); Napoleon and Tabitha Dumo (2014 and 2011); Tyce Diorio (2009); and Wade Robson (2008 and 2007).

The hit series also received awards in the category of Outstanding Costumes in 2014, 2010 and 2009, as well as awards in Outstanding Lighting Design in 2012 and 2011.

So You Think You Can Dance is from 19 Entertainment (a part of Sony Pictures Television ) and Dick Clark Productions. The series is executive produced by Daniel Martin who also serves as showrunner and by series co-creator Nigel Lythgoe, Barry Adelman, Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman. Cat Deeley also serves as producer.

The location.

This season So You Think You Can Dance packed up and moved from its beloved home on the Television City lot in Los Angeles and went East to Atlanta where the dance scene is sizzling. The season was pre-taped — yes, that means no live shows — at Pullman Yards with some of the most unique backgrounds ever seen on the series. Even though it wasn’t a typical TV set, there was an audience witnessing the dancers compete.

Fedoke loves the new location with a rich history of dance and music and praised the city of Atlanta for welcoming them with open arms. “Atlanta has an incredible, incredible roster of dancers, but I think music videos have really launched them and pushed them into a certain space — and now people are starting to see it,” she says. “A lot of artists come from there, along with a lot of movie production, television production, everything is in that space as well.”

If you missed the fourth episode of the season, the Top 10 dancers were announced. Here is the list of who is competing for the top prize of $100,000: Olivia Alboher, Avery Gay, Madison Alvarado, Braylon Browner, Anthony Curley, Mariyah Hawkins, Easton Magliarditi, Roman Nevinchanyi, Jaylin Sanders, and Dakayla Wilson.

Fedoke loves the dancers that she and fellow judges, Allison Holker and Maks Chmerkovskiy, selected to represent this season . She notes, “I do feel like we have a nice group of people that you haven’t seen before coming to the show, which is really exciting.”

Fedoke was only hired for the audition rounds and was originally selected to sit on the panel with Holker, Chmerkovskiy, and Nigel Lythgoe. However, the situation changed mid-production when Lythgoe’s sexual harassment and assault allegations came to light. He stepped aside from his judging and executive producer roles to make way for returning Season 17 judge, JoJo Siwa. The season will finish up with Siwa, Holker, and Chmerkovskiy handing out their constructive critiques, and Cat Deeley leading the ship as the show’s host.

Fedoke admits that after years as a contestant, an All-Star, and a choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance , she surprised herself in her new judging role. “My energy was so important to give to them because I saw how nervous they were, especially since there was no audience at the audition space,” she reveals. “It’s a different type of energy that they don’t know how to get back from because they’re not getting anything. Being able to have that conversation with them and then calm them down… I felt a lot like their auntie. I was like, ‘Are you okay? You can breathe.'”

This season the format is completely different. Instead of solos and duets each week, there will be different challenges that will test the contestants’ skills to reflect the professional dance world. What is it like for dancers to shoot a music video, work on Broadway, or perform at the Super Bowl halftime show with top-level choreographers? Well, viewers are about to find out how grueling it can be.

“The challenges will highlight what it feels like and what it looks like to be a professional dancer,” says Fedoke. “We picked people not only because they know how to dance and they’re good, but we picked them because we can see them in this music video. We can see them working on this type of film. You can just really see that ‘it’ factor that everyone always talks about. Season 18 is going to really open up people’s eyes to what it truly is like to live a dancer’s life.”

Behind the Scenes

The dance stage isn’t the only place viewers will see some changes, So You Think You Can Dance is getting the reality show treatment by having the contestants live with each other during the season — and viewers will get that behind-the-scenes look. Fox’s press release described it as “a documentary-style inside look at the contestants’ dynamics, following them throughout the competition as they go through their personal and competitive journeys, including the daily struggles, new relationships, personality clashes, and more.”

Even though Fedoke didn’t experience this additional element when she was a contestant in the fourth season, she thinks it’s a great idea. “You get to know the dancers. A lot of people complained about feeling like they don’t know the dancers enough after they cut the result shows,” she points out. “And so I think this is the mesh between both of those worlds.”

So, get ready for an exciting season ahead, and take the advice of Fedoke, who is one of the most successful contestants from the franchise (even if she got voted off twice from her season). “I’ve had a journey on this show,” Fedoke laughs. “But it’s a test to knowing who you are. And just because this wasn’t your winning space or this wasn’t what made you get that $100,000 or the No. 1 spot, it doesn’t mean you aren’t going to win in other parts of your life. You have to carry on trusting your own process.”

So You Think You Can Dance airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FOX and the next day on Hulu.

The series, which premiered in 2005, pairs celebrities with professional dancers. The couples then compete against each other for judges’ points and audience votes. The couple with the lowest combined judges’ points and audience votes is eliminated each week until only one champion pair remains. That couple is declared the winner and receives the coveted Dancing With the Stars Mirrorball Trophy.

The most recent season of Dancing With the Stars, Season 32, premiered in September 2023 and aired its finale in December 2023. The season featured 14 contestants including Grammy-winning singer Jason Mraz; Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino; supermodel Tyson Beckford; and Britney Spears’ younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears.

Season 32 is also the first season in years with three judges — Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli — after the death of former judge, Len Goodman, in April 2023. Season 32 also celebrates the return of former pro and judge Julianne Hough, who joined co-host Alfonso Ribeiro as the new co-host of the show following the exit of former host, Tyra Banks, at the end of Season 31.

Season 32 also featured a rare five contestants in its finale: actress Alyson Hannigan; former Bachelorette Charity Lawson; Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix; Marvel star Xochitl Gomez; and singer Jason Mraz. The competition was fierce, and now that it’s over, fans are already looking toward next year at the ballroom.

So who’s in the Dancing With the Stars Season 33 and who could be the DWTS contestants in 2024? Read on for the Dancing With the Stars Season 33 cast we’d like to see and which stars could compete for the Mirrorball Trophy in 2024.

Gerry Turner

Job: Reality TV star

Best known for: The Golden Bachelor

Gerry Turner, the first Golden Bachelor, is a shoo-in for the Dancing With the Stars Season 33 cast. As of writing this, 12 Bachelor Nation alums have been contestants on Dancing With the Stars including two Mirrorball Trophy winners: Season 28’s Hannah Brown and Season 29’s Kaitlyn Bristowe. Gerry got engaged to his winner, Theresa Nist, in The Golden Bachelor Season 1 finale, which was the highest-rated Bachelor franchise episode in almost three years. He’s also set to marry Theresa in a Golden Bachelor wedding special on January 4, 2024. If he was a part of the Dancing With the Stars Season 33 cast, Gerry would also be among one of the oldest contestants in the series’ history at 72 years old.

“I would be open to any and all opportunities because as much fun as I’ve had up to this point, and as much fun as my family has had coming along with me on this journey, I wouldn’t say no to anything,” Gerry told The New York Post in November 2023 about whether he would join Dancing With the Stars. “I would have to kind of get more information before I committed to something. But gosh, I mean, how much fun could that be?”

Amy Robach

Job: News anchor

Best known for: Good Morning America; 20/20

Amy Robach, a former news anchor on 20/20 and Good Morning America, became a household name in late 2022 when news broke of her reported extramarital affair with her GMA3: What You Need to Know co-host, T.J. Holmes. The drama led ABC to take both Robach and Holmes off the air on December 5, 2022. They were fired for their relationship on January 27, 2023. Robach and Holmes are making a comeback, however. They launched their podcast, “Amy and T.J. Podcast,” in December 2023, in which they described themselves as”the folks who lost the jobs we love because we love each other.”

TJ Holmes

T.J. Holmes

Job: News anchor

Best known for: GMA3

If there was a couple to compete on Dancing With the Stars on the same season, let it be Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes. When they were fired from GMA3, Robach was the more famous name, but we wouldn’t mind seeing her and Holmes go head to head with separate pros for the Mirrorball Trophy. Given their notoriety, Robach and Holmes would make the perfect contestants on Dancing With the Stars Season 33. The only thing stopping them is that Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC, the same network that fired them from GMA3.

Pat Sajak

Job: Game show host

Best known for: Wheel of Fortune

Pat Sajak broke the hearts of millions of households across America in June 2023 when he announced he was leaving Wheel of Fortune after more than 40 years as the game show’s host. Now that he’s free to take on other projects, we can see him competing in a competition show a change instead of just hosting it.

Kelsea Ballerini

Job: Country singer

Best known for: 2023 EP Rolling Up the Welcome Mat

No one loves a comeback story more than Dancing With the Stars, and country singer Kelsea Ballerini had one heck of a year. She divorced her husband, country singer Morgan Evans, in August 2022. Ballerini used her divorce as inspiration for her breakthrough EP, Rolling Up the Welcome Mat, which was released in February 2023 and was nominated for a Grammy. Following her divorce, Ballerini also went on to date actor and Outer Banks star Chase Stokes. After hitting rock bottom, Ballerini is on the rise, and a Mirrorball Trophy would be just another step on her way to stardom.

Lindsay Hubbard

Job: Reality TV star

Best known for: Summer House

Speaking of a comeback, could Summer House’s Lindsay Hubbard be following in the footsteps of her Bravo sister, Vanderpump Rules’ Ariana Madix? Hubbard made headlines in September 2023 when news broke that her fiance and Summer House co-star, Carl Radke, called off their engagement weeks before their wedding. The breakup is set to air on Summer House Season 8 in 2024, but we can already see Bravo fans being Team Lindsay in the same way they rallied around Maddix following Scandoval. Could Dancing With the Stars be in Hubbard’s future?

Coco Gauff

Job: Professional tennis player

Best known for: 2023 US Open Win

Professional athletes are no stranger to the Dancing With the Stars ballroom, and if there’s one athlete who had a moment in 2023 it’s professional tennis player Coco Gauff. Gauff became a household name after she won the 2023 US Open, defeating Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka. At only 19 years old, she would be a force to be reckoned with if she competed on Dancing With the Stars.

Fran Drescher

Job: Actor

Best known for: The Nanny

Fran Drescher may be best known as Fran Frine in the CBS sitcom The Nanny, but she was also a powerful changemaker in 2023 as the SAG-AFTRA president that led the union to a history-making deal in November 2023 following one of Hollywood’s longest-running strikes. Drescher’s speech against Hollywood studios went viral in July 2023, and we can’t imagine that similar passion on the dance floor.

Addison Rae

Job: Social media personality

Best known for: TikTok

Ever since TikTok star Charli D’Amelio won Dancing With the Stars Season 31, the show has been steadily featuring more social media personalities in its cast, with the inclusion of Lele Pons and Harry Jowsey in Dancing With the Stars Season 32. TikTok star Addison Rae would make the next understandable choice. She has a dance background, and with 88 million followers on TikTok, she’s sure to bring in the younger demographic Dancing With the Stars has been chasing ever since streaming the show on Disney Plus.

Jason Kelce

Job: Professional football player

Best known for: Philadelphia Eagles center; Travis Kelce’s brother

By far, the most talked-about celebrity couple of 2023 was Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. While both Taylor and Travis are far too famous to be on Dancing With the Stars (Season 32 did have a Taylor Swift Night), but Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, could have the right level of fame. Jason is a center for the Philadelphia Eagles and Jason’s older brother. If he was on Dancing With the Stars Season 33, let’s hope to see his famous brother and brother’s girlfriend in the audience.

Lacey Chabert

Job: Actress

Best known for: Hallmark; Mean Girls

Known as the Queen of Christmas, Lacey Chabert has starred in more than 30 Hallmark movies. She’s, by far, one of the most famous Hallmark actors, and with the new Mean Girls musical movie coming out in January 2024, Chabert (who played Gretchen Wiener in the original 2004 film) is at the top of her game. It’s time she take her fame to the dance floor on Dancing With the Stars.

Mark Harmon

Job: Actor

Best known for: NCIS

Mark Harmon played NCIS Supervisory Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs from Seasons 1 to 19 of NCIS. He left the series in 2021 and hasn’t been up to much ever since. As fans await to see what Harmon will do next, we’d love to see him compete on Dancing With the Stars and take Gibbs’ same fierceness to the dance floor.

Taylor Kinney

Job: Actor

Best known for: Chicago Fire

Better known as Lieutenant Kelly Severide to Chicago Fire fans, Kelly Severide is one of the One Chicago franchise’s most beloved actors. He scared fans in January 2023 when news broke that he was leaving Chicago Fire to deal with a “personal matter” in the middle of Season 11. While he’s set to return for Chicago Fire Season 12, his days could be numbered at Firehouse 51. He was to leave the series, Dancing With the Stars could be the perfect rest stop in between Chicago Fire and Kinney’s next role.

‘So You Think You Can Dance’ winner odds: Easton Magliarditi will AND should win season 18, according to fans

 • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

The top 10 have been revealed for “So You Think You Can Dance” season 18, but before they’re judged by panelists Maksim Chmerkovskiy , Allison Holker and JoJo Siwa , they’ve been judged by fans who have predicted who will win the season here in our predictions center , and have decided who should win the season here in our poll . In both cases, the answer is the same. Contemporary specialist Easton Magliarditi is the young man to beat.

Magliarditi was the very first performer we saw in the auditions round, and his routine got a standing ovation from the judges. But this wasn’t the first time fans of the show have seen him. A decade ago he competed on “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation” when he was only nine. He didn’t prevail then, but most of the fans we’ve polled think he will now. He gets leading odds of 9/5 based on their combined predictions , followed by Anthony Curley with 59/20 odds; during the auditions rounds Chmerkovskiy actually called Curley a front-runner to win the competition. Our complete racetrack odds going into this week’s episode are as follows:

As for who deserves the title, Magliarditi ruled that poll as well, and he was far ahead of the rest, getting 41.14% of the vote. Compare that to Avery Gay in second place with just 16% and Braylon Browner in third with 12%. This season, though, fans don’t get to pick the winner as in years past. This time it’s entirely up to the judges to pick who stays, who goes and who collects the grand prize of $100,000 based on how they perform in challenges meant to replicate a real career in dance. But it’s clear from our surveys that Magliarditi has real star power. Will the panelists agree? See the complete breakdown of who fans are rooting for below.
