History [ ]

Early life [ ].

Joey was born on a Wednesday of April 22, 1964. He is of Mexican descent and has said that he grew up in the Bay Area and in San Diego. It is not clear where he lived first or when he moved, but he has said that moving away from San Diego was one of the two worst mistakes he has made in his life. He was raised Roman Catholic.

Joey studied at Harvard in the early 1990s, graduating with an associate's degree in Culinary Arts/Chef Training. He previously attended Grossmont College in El Cajon, CA, where he studied Political Science and Anthropology. He has stated that he also attended San Diego State University.

Culinary career [ ]

Joey spent many years in the restaurant industry as a manager of several establishments. Some of his jobs included Manager/Owner of The Burrito Factory, Sous Chef at Umunhum Food & Wine Restaurant, Pastry Chef at The Village Cafe, and Kitchen Manager at Charlie Blair's Pizza & Grill. He cooked with Michelin Star chefs David Kinch of Manresa and Michael Miller of Trevese.

Joey also wrote a blog called "Sublime Flavor!". It began in 2008 and ended in 2013 when the domain expired. The blog's tagline was "A global food and wine blog dotted with mouthwatering recipes, musings, and reviews!" On the "About" page, Joey wrote "The goal of this site is to provide you insights, recipes and musings about food, wine, life and dessert!" The early days of the blog featured Joey's original recipes and reports about local food businesses. Later, it evolved to feature mostly recipes from other sites and news about the food industry.

Since 2012, Joey has worked as a personal chef and caterer for Sublime Flavor Catering.

YouTube career [ ]

The JoeysWorldTour YouTube account was started on April 20, 2007.

Joey has said that he didn't know he was going to be doing food reviews, otherwise he would have called the channel something else, like Joey's Food Reviews.

The first video uploaded to the channel was "A Cannery Row Seagull" on February 6, 2011. The next video was not uploaded until June 11, 2012 [this does not include any videos that have since been deleted or made private]. The early days of the channel featured more food challenges, cooking demonstrations, and non-food-related videos. Uploads become more frequent in mid-2012 and 2013.

Joey's first food review "KFC Boneless Chicken REVIEWED!" was uploaded on April 14, 2013. The channel subsequently became more focused on food reviews.

Joey has said that he got into YouTube food reviews "by accident." He was between jobs in 2012 and began uploading food challenges and cooking videos to pass the time. One day, he decided to do a fast-food review in his car. Initially, he was accused of copying YouTube user Daym Drops , who uses a similar format for his videos. However, Joey contacted Daym and received his "blessing" and support, and decided to continue doing reviews.

Joey continued with regular uploads of food reviews and gained more views and subscribers. On May 8 2013, Joey told his viewers his channel had just hit 200 subscribers, and on May 11, he stated that it had "close to 300 subscribers." He said he hoped to hit 1,000 "someday."

At some point in late 2013 or early 2014, Joeys became affiliated with Daym Drops as a member of #TeamDaym. The first video to feature the #TeamDaym logo was "Baskin-Robbins Movie Theater Popcorn Ice Cream REVIEW!" on January 14, 2014.

As the channel became more popular, the video upload rate increased to 3 per week (uploading on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).

In 2016, the channel continued to grow, and a new influx of viewers came in as Joey was featured in videos by Pyrocynical and LeafyIsHere . This helped propel Joey to internet meme status. In May 2016, Joey reached 100,000 subscribers. This burst in popularity helped Joey become one of the most prominent food reviewers on YouTube at the time; fellow food reviewer TheReportOfTheWeek (Reviewbrah) acknowledged Joey as his "biggest competition", though he denied any serious rivalry or bad blood between them. [1]

Joey has fallen victim to a death hoax on July 24, 2020. [2]

Content [ ]

JoeysWorldTour features several kinds of episodes:

Food reviews [ ]

Joey reviews a food or drink item. These videos are branded as "Joey's Super Kool Food Reviews" and make up the vast majority of the channel.

Joey speaks to his viewers on various subjects.

Food challenges [ ]

Joey attempts a food-related challenge, like eating an entire jar of Nutella without using his hands. Several of these videos have been set as private and are no longer viewable on the channel.

Cooking with Joey [ ]

Joey demonstrates how to cook a recipe.

Joey visits an event or location (examples include Disneyland and WrestleMania Axxess).

Reception [ ]

The channel has received mainly negative reviews. Most criticized him for his poor eating habits, enormous appetite, and his unhealthy lifestyle. On April 24, 2016, Joey uploaded a food review of Burger King’s chicken onion rings. That video gained negative feedback due to Joey complaining for more than half the video that Burger King gave him the incorrect box. The video has over 4,000 dislikes as of April 2020, making it one of the worst performing food reviews on his channel, reception wise. Joey typically ignores the negative feedback he receives nowadays, though he did respond to a few of them in the early days of his channel.

Production and filming [ ]

Most of Joey's food reviews are filmed in his vehicles. He appears to have two trucks, a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Ford pickup. He tries to drive to an isolated location where he won't be seen making the video. [3]

To film the video, he places the camera on a tripod between the seat and the dashboard. In many reviews, he places the food on the dashboard before eating it and turns the camera around to shoot a closeup of the food. The video then cuts to Joey's face again, giving him an opportunity to say his famous catchphrase, "I'm back!". [3]

In 2013, Joey showed his viewers that he wrote down the name of every subscriber to his channel. Subscribers who were "haters" or who cyberbullied other users received an asterisk next to their name. It is unknown if Joey still writes down every subscriber to this day. The same notebook also contained notes for his reviews. [3]

Revenue [ ]

It is unknown how much Joey earns from his videos. He has stated that his YouTube income does not cover his expenses, and he still works as a chef and caterer on the weekends. [4] [5]

‘The Bachelor' finale: Find out if Joey Graziadei got engaged

Joey graziadei's "bachelor" journey came to an end on march 25 during the season 28 finale, which featured a surprise twist with final contestants daisy kent and kelsey anderson., by jess cohen | e • published march 25, 2024 • updated on march 26, 2024 at 7:12 pm.

Joey Graziadei has given out his final rose.

That's right, the tennis pro's headline-making journey on " The Bachelor " came to an end on the season 28 finale, during which he got down on one knee and proposed to contestant Kelsey Anderson . But before they got their happy ending, Graziadei faced a breakup with Daisy Kent .

Earlier in March 25 episode, Graziadei enjoyed final dates with both women. However, after Kent — a fan favorite and frontrunner all season — spent those last moments with Graziadei, she realized that they just weren't meant to be. The account executive even went to Anderson to give her a heads up — a surprising first for Bachelor Nation , given that finalists don't typically see each other before the final rose ceremony.

And when Kent did arrive at the ceremony, she shared her feelings with Graziadei and their relationship came to an end, leaving the door open for him to propose to Anderson.

The Reasons Every Bachelor and Bachelorette Couple Has Given For Their Breakups

"I can't wait another minute to tell you that I love you," Graziadei told Anderson, before asking her to marry him. "There is something about you. You have this infectious energy that makes me smile. It's a feeling I've never had before."

I have known for a while that I've wanted to have a beautiful life, but I truly didn't know how beautiful that life could be until I met you."

Graziadei and Anderson's engagement comes one week after she gave him a bit of a scare on the March 18 episode of "The Bachelor," when she left him an ominous note saying they needed to talk.

"I don't know what's going on," Graziadei said in a confessional. "This would derail everything if something's wrong, if she needs to leave or something happened."

While Anderson explained, "I made a promise to myself and also to him, that whenever there is something that comes up in my mind, that I need to share it with him."

Though when the two ended up sitting down together, Anderson confirmed she wasn't leaving—she was just missing him.

"It's hard not seeing you," she said, "and the days in between are always so hard and all the crazy thoughts that can go on."

As for his rosy ending with Anderson, Graziadei recently teased the finale in a message to Bachelor Nation.

"I think all I'm trying to do, as you see, is just be honest about my emotions," he shared in an interview with E! News' Francesca Amiker . "And I think you will understand what it is when it gets to that point. I hope it's shown, I hope people get to see where those emotions come from and we'll see how it all looks."

Moran Rosenblatt and Henry Lloyd-Hughes in 'We Were the Lucky Ones'

Related Stories

Events of the week: 'road house,' 'shirley' and more, hulu at press tour: jon bon jovi, natasha rothwell and the value of personal stories, we were the lucky ones.

We Were the Lucky Ones begins at what will turn out to be the last Passover that the Kurcs are able to celebrate at their family home in Radom, Poland — it’s 1938, and though they can’t know it quite yet, World War II is at their doorstep. By the time the Thomas Kail-directed premiere winds down in 1939, sisters Halina ( Joey King ) and Mila (Hadas Yaron) will remain at home with parents Nechuma (Robin Weigert) and Sol (Lior Ashkenazi), but two brothers, Genek (Henry Lloyd-Hughes) and Jakob (Amit Rahav), will be off at war and a third, Addy ( Logan Lerman ), stuck in Paris. By the end of the finale, this clan will have scattered even further, passing through five different continents over seven years of exile, imprisonment and other struggles.

However, the series is also forced to prioritize blunt efficiency over nuance or depth. Each of the Kurcs is given only the broadest outline of a personality, flattering and vague: they are uniformly clever and brave and generous, their faith in each other unwavering, their romances steadfastly passionate. Notably, they also tend to be spared the cruelest tragedies this series has to dole out — it’s the supporting players, often their wives and husbands, who carry the heaviest burdens of loss and despair.

Still, creator Erica Lipez makes room for smaller, more intimate moments when she can, and these land as sparks of warmth in an otherwise downbeat saga. Scenes like Jakob’s girlfriend Bella (Eva Feiler) and Halina sighing about love letters while hiding out in the woods, or Genek fondly mocking an absent Addy to roars of laughter from his siblings, add texture to the familial bond that’s so essential to these characters. Standouts in the ensemble include Lerman, who crumples inward as Addy’s optimism flags over years without word from his kin, and Sam Woolf as Halina’s boyfriend Adam, particularly electric when he gets to explode in fury or anguish.

The triumphs the characters are able to enjoy by the end of their sojourn feel more than earned, even as the series brushes up against the guilt that accompanies their relative good fortune. “What right have we to expect more?” one person asks after listing all the relatives who’ve survived — as if she feels somehow greedy for living when others did not, or as if merely wishing for the safe return of those still lost might upset the balance of the universe.

But her husband only holds her tighter, replying with what might as well be We Were the Lucky Ones ‘ thesis: “Hope is not a crime. I think it a necessity.” Whatever rough patches it has steered through, whatever trials its characters have suffered, the series makes a moving case for keeping faith in that.

‘Horrible’ Joey Barton comments and online abuse of 17-year-old female goalkeeper branded ‘bullying’

Leading figures in Scottish football – and Ava Easdon’s kickboxing champion father – leap to defence of teenager after online attacks

Ava Easdon - Joey Barton comments and online abuse of female goalkeeper branded 'bullying'

Joey Barton has been branded a “bully” and condemned for firing “horrible” online criticism at 17-year-old Partick Thistle goalkeeper Ava Easdon.

The former Fleetwood Town and Bristol Rovers manager mocked the teenager on X, formerly known as Twitter, when sharing a clip of a goal the youngster let in against Rangers.

Barton reposted the video and wrote: “I mean let’s just talk about the goalie! How is this nonsense on the box?”

Easdon’s father, seven-time world kickboxing champion Lex Easdon, has accused Barton of trying to “belittle and bully” his daughter, while Scotland women’s national team head coach Pedro Martinez Losa has been among those to show support for Easdon.

Scotland and Rangers player Nicola Docherty also lamented Barton’s comments, writing on her X account: “Couldn’t help but notice the tweets from an older man regarding this great young goalkeeper who is inspiring the next generation. Keep doing what you are doing! If women’s football isn’t for you change the channel, it isn’t hard.”

Easdon’s father Lex said: “In 2024 and ‘grown’ men feel the need to belittle and bully a 17-year-old school kid, who doesn’t get paid to play unlike some men who make the same mistake week after week and get paid hundreds of thousands of pounds.”

Spaniard Losa said: “She’s a young player who is competing excellently this season for her club. If we want players like her to develop and play in the national team, we have to create a safe environment where they are going to play and make mistakes.

“I want to show my support to a player who is playing exceptionally. She is very brave to compete in a final. And, by the way, she is playing very well.”

Chelsea and Scotland midfielder Erin Cuthbert also jumped to her compatriot’s defence. Speaking ahead of the London club’s Women’s Champions League quarter-final against Ajax, she said: “Ava’s a terrific young goalkeeper coming through the Scotland ranks. One mistake won’t define you. Mistakes happen, it’s part of football.”

Scotland captain and Aston Villa defender Rachel Corsie, speaking on the BBC’s Behind The Goals Podcast, did not name Barton specifically but said social media criticism of Easdon was “bullying”, adding: “We see that a lot now. It’s even more worrying that people feel it’s OK to do it towards younger players.

“It’s not welcome in sport. To bully and target people is not acceptable. It’s horrible and it’s not warranted.

“There’s a difference between critiquing in the game, there’s a difference between having an opinion on things and how you choose to use your words and speak about people.”

To the accusation of bullying, Barton responded on social media by saying: “Yep, there’s me ‘Bullying’ a 17-year-old women by posting a clip of her playing football.

“The victim playing of these people is beyond pathetic. You’re on the tele luv. You don’t know where you goal is. You basically allow a free shot to go in. You and ya dad now in papers complaining. Playing the victim because you had a stinker. Maybe leave the proper stuff to the fella’s and put a bit of work in to locate the net you’re guardian. Nonsense Football off the tele.”

This is the horrifying moment a woman's leg became trapped in the door of a train before she was dragged down the length of the platform.
