“Exceptional Experience - Sunday Brunch” Review of Craft Bistro

We love brunch and Craft Bistro was quite exceptional. We were seated quickly, greeted by the owners who checked in with us a number of times. Our waiter was on point and kept a keen eye on our beverages to ensure they never got low. I had the fish tacos, which were flavorful and light with a little kick. My Mom had the shrimp and grits and raved about them. My husband had the eggs benedict, which he really enjoyed. We have even extended out trip and are hopeful we get a dinner reservation tonight, as the dinner menu looked delicious. West Jefferson needed a superior place to dine and Craft Bistro is just the place. Can't wait to go back!

This restaurant is in an old theatre in West Jefferson. We went for dinner with another couple and it was delicious! The variety on the menu was great and the freshness of the food wonderful . We loved the Duck, Sous Vide Chicken and halibut. The service was top notch. We will be back!

In days of yore, if one practiced a craft it was an honor to be treated with respect and responsibility. The highest honor was to be a master craftsman. This establishment is more than deserving of that designation. Ambiance, food/drink, and service were delightful and delicious. One illustrative anecdote: we ordered a relatively expensive bottle of red ($ 80) that we had previously purchased which was 25% higher priced in another mid sized town. Our wait suggested a different wine that was $20 less which we enjoyed more than our original choice. When I questioned the proprietor about his relatively low wine markup (most restaurants charge 200 to 300 % of the retail price to increase their overall margins) he responded that he felt responsibility to deliver a quality experience for a fair price. If only more proprietors felt the same way...

I have wanted to try this restaurant ever since they opened and my parents sent me pictures of their food. When my husband and I finally got to go try it out we were not disappointed! It was a delicious Sunday brunch. I had chicken and waffles. It wasn’t just your average fried chicken and waffles either because it had its own special (delicious) flavor. Plus fruit and small sliced potatoes for the side was an extra bonus. My husband got fish tacos that were also delicious. They had a live musician that was very pleasant too. The owners are very hardworking, caring people as they came and checked on us during our meal. They clearly care about the quality of the food and their hospitality. It’s not considered a “cheap” meal but the quality of food and atmosphere make it well worth a visit!! It’s a unique place where the focus is on the food, go here for the experience and don’t expect your typical burger/sandwich/pub food that you find in many places around town.

Had an early dinner on a Saturday evening and it was the best. The four of us tried the Chilean Sea Bass, Blackened Beef Filet, Sautéed Duck and the Shrimp/Crab on Lobster Risotto with the Tuna Sashimi Appetizer. Every bite of each meal delicately delicious and savory. Very comfortable venue from the minute you walk in the front door. WJ finally has a restaurant with many delicious options and a very peaceful place to enjoy a meal and enjoy conversation. Jared has outdone himself with the decor, comfort, incredible food and team that delivers service second to none, thanks.
