Celebrity Cruises is an award-winning cruise line marked by the iconic ‘X’. It was founded in 1989 with the objective of providing a high-quality, premium cruise experience at an intelligent price for the discerning cruiser.

Celebrity Cruises logo

In 1997, Celebrity Cruises merged with Royal Caribbean International , bringing together two extraordinary cruise brands within one corporation, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd (RCL).

Celebrity Cruises has created a distinctive expression of superior quality - offering grand style, attentive service, enriching and inspiring onboard programmes, spacious accommodations, and exceptional dining.  They define the whole experience as ‘modern luxury’.

It has an impressive fleet of premium cruise ships which travel to many exciting destinations including Alaska, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, the Galapagos, Hawaii, Pacific Coastal, Panama Canal and South America.

They pride themselves on offering an exceptional personalised service and have a strong team on board to anticipate guests’ needs and take note of the little details, whether it’s greeting them by name or having chilled towels ready for those returning from a busy shore excursion.

Working for Celebrity Cruises means visiting more than 70 countries in seven continents, interacting with a crew of more than 100 different nationalities, getting competitive pay and extensive holiday time, and having rapid promotion opportunities for ‘star’ performers.

Life on a ship as a member of the Celebrity team is fast-paced and challenging. It is also very rewarding personally and professionally. Crew members get to visit some of the most beautiful places in the world while making friends with co-workers and guests of different nationalities.

Interested in working on a Royal Caribbean Group ship? We’re here to help. Below are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. Check them out below.

General Questions

  • Requirement to work onboard

Visa questions

Room and board questions.

  • Port questions
  • Hiring partner questions

Where do Royal Caribbean Group ships sail? Our ships sail around the world and visit exciting and unique destinations on every continent. Many employees note that traveling the world is one of their favorite parts of working on our ships.

What companies make up the Royal Caribbean Group? We are made up of five brands: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity, Silversea, Tui Cruises, and Hapag-Lloyd.

What is a letter of employment? A letter of employment (LOE) is a document provided by Royal Caribbean Group (or Hiring Partner) that states the date you are scheduled to join our team, the vessel you are joining, and the position for which you have been hired. You must have this document available at all times when traveling to join the ship.

Where do I get the pre-employment medical (PEME)? All Royal Caribbean Group’s brands’ crew members are required to complete an extensive pre-employment medical examination prior to joining the ship. In most cases, the examination is at the employees’ expense. The examination should be conducted through one of RCG’s approved medical facilities. Once the medical examination is complete and approved by our corporate medical department, employees will be cleared to travel. This medical documentation will then be valid for two years. Your recruiter or hiring partner will discuss this with you in more detail.

Do I have to wear a uniform? As a team, we like to project a consistent and professional image; therefore, we have carefully chosen a uniform for most positions. Uniforms will be provided onboard and there are some uniform items that are considered personal items crew are required to pay for. Your recruiter or hiring partner will discuss this with you in more detail.

Does Royal Caribbean Group hire couples? Royal Caribbean Group brands welcome couples onboard. However, each applicant is assessed individually based on their qualifications, and although every effort is made to accommodate couples to be assigned to the same ship, we cannot guarantee that they will be assigned to the same ship, since business needs take precedence.

Is medical attention available to employees? Yes, of course! Our crew’s safety and wellbeing is our highest priority. Should employees become ill while onboard, each ship has a team of dedicated medical professionals that will provide assistance at no cost to the crew member. However, while the medical team is ready to assist in any urgent situation, they shouldn’t be considered your primary medical care provider. It is important to join the ship healthy and ready to work. If you have any prescriptions that have been cleared as part of your pre-employment medical exam, those should be filled for the duration of your assignment before you join.

Are crew members entitled to discounts for their families? As part of Royal Caribbean Group, we offer different discount programs for our employees and their families. Depending on your position, you may have to wait for some time before qualifying for this benefit.

Do I have safety responsibilities? In the unlikely case of an emergency, we need to be ready. Therefore, all crew members must attend emergency training, and are required to participate in boat drills. Every crew member is assigned an emergency duty which they will be trained on and practice during regular boat drills.

Will I always work on the same ship? Assignments are based on many factors, and priority is understandably given to business need. Generally, there are periods where an individual is assigned to a particular ship, in order to provide an opportunity for the teams to build relationships and consistency. However, as with every aspect of shipboard life, flexibility is key. You might be transferred to another ship as necessary.

Can I socialize in Guest Areas? Access to guest areas will depend on your position. Your scheduler or recruiter can advise you what your onboard privileges would be.

How long would I be onboard before going back home? A contract ranges anywhere from three to approximately eight months, depending on the position. Most senior management roles have 4-month contracts while most of the rest of the positions have 6-8 month contracts. Employees live onboard for the total length of their contracts.

Do I get time off while onboard? Because ships have guests onboard 7 days a week, you may not get a 24-hour period off; however, you will still have time to rest, visit the ports, and participate in fun events.

What happens if I have a family emergency? In case of family emergencies , your HR manager will work closely with you to make necessary arrangements.

To which ship would I be assigned? Once you have been offered a position, you will be advised which ship you will be joining. Please keep in mind that assignments are provided based on business needs, therefore, you could join any of our beautiful Royal Caribbean Group ships!

How do I get to the ship? Depending on your location and the ship’s location, you may fly to the nearest airport. In some cases, this will be at the crew members’ expense for the first contract. The company covers the cost of repatriation after your contract is concluded as long as you satisfy the basic requirements of your assignment.

If specific tools are required to perform my job, do I need to bring them? No, all the tools you need to perform your job will be provided by the company. We know there’s a lot to consider. As you go through the application process, our recruiters and hiring partners will be glad to provide guidance, and more relevant details to answer any additional questions about shipboard life.

Requirements to work onboard

What are the requirements to work onboard Royal Caribbean ships? Regardless of the position for which you are applying, to qualify for shipboard employment you must have a valid passport, and the ability to:

  • Obtain a C1-D visa (unless you are Canadian or a US citizen or resident).
  • Pass RCG’s pre-employment medical examination.
  • Obtain relevant itinerary-driven visas (i.e. Schengen).
  • Present the proper qualifications/certifications required, based on your role.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Obtain flu vaccines and negative COVID-19 tests.

What languages are required to work onboard? English is the official language onboard our vessels, therefore, all employees must be able to read, write and speak English. Some positions have specific language requirements, but (in general) English is sufficient. However, because of our international guests and exciting itineraries, it is helpful if you speak additional languages, including (but certainly not limited to): Italian, German, French, and Spanish. Additional language skills are always a plus!

Does Royal Caribbean Group have a drug policy? Royal Caribbean Group is a drug-free company, and we have a zero tolerance policy for consumption or possession of illegal substances. Because we operate in many jurisdictions around the world, even if a substance is legal in one location it may not be legal elsewhere, therefore you should refer to company policies for a list of prohibited items.

Are employees allowed to smoke? When off duty, employees are allowed to smoke in the designated smoking areas. Smoking in crew cabins is prohibited.

What is a C1-D visa? A C1-D visa is a non-immigrant visa issued by US embassies around the world. This visa allows crew members to transit through US ports. If offered a position, Royal Caribbean Group will provide a letter to support your application. This visa is not required for Canadians or US citizens or residents.

What is a Schengen visa? Some nationalities are required to obtain this visa in order to enter countries that are part of the Schengen territory, in Europe. Your Hiring partner or HR representative can help you determine if you need to apply for a Schengen visa.

What should I pack? Since cabin space is very limited, it is recommended that employees bring only what is needed. Some suggestions would be:

  • Clothing: Jeans/long pants, sweater, shirts, belt(s), shorts and T-shirts, appropriate shoes, tennis and/or beach shoes, and swimsuit. We also recommend bringing one pair of black pants, one one shirt and a pair of comfortable black shoes.
  • Toiletries: Deodorant, razors, brush/comb, toothbrush/paste, shampoo, shaving cream, sunblock.
  • Other: Medication, beach towel, laptop, smart phone and hair dryer.

Are any items prohibited? Objects that may represent a hazard are prohibited. Examples include weapons, clothing irons, hot plates, candles, incense, and any other items that may create a fire hazard, or are deemed unsafe by shipboard security. Curling irons, flat irons, and hair dryers are allowed.

Do Royal Caribbean Group brands provide accommodations while I am onboard? Forget about paying rent! Our brands provide accommodations for all shipboard employees. Depending on your position you may share your cabin with a fellow crew member. Because space is limited onboard, cabins and bathrooms are relatively small compared to land-based accommodations, but don’t worry there are plenty amenities for you to enjoy when you are off duty.

What if I don’t get along with my roommate? Working onboard is a great opportunity not only to grow professionally, but also to make friends from all over the world. While different cultures act differently and sometimes it takes time to adjust, we believe that being open and respectful always leads to good relationships. Communication is usually the key to get along with your roommate; however, if for some reason you don’t feel comfortable you can check with supervisor who will try to facilitate a cabin switch.

Where will I have my meals? Our chefs create for our crew a variety of dishes from different parts of the world, providing options for a healthy and well-balanced diet. All meals are served in crew-allocated dining areas. We also frequently send out surveys asking for feedback on living onboard – if you’d like to request a certain meal, just ask!

Do you have laundry facilities for employees? Yes, there are laundry facilities available for the crew.

What type of electrical system will be in my cabin? Cabins offer US 110V and 220V outlets.

Do employees have internet access? Yes, each ship has an internet café that is available to employees, with several computers that have internet access (fees apply). For those who would like to bring their own laptop, wifi is available (fees apply). Text messaging is free within WhatsApp.

How do I call home? You can purchase minutes to use for long-distance calls from the ship. Be sure to download WhatsApp on your smartphone device. You can utilize free WhatsApp text messaging to family members while onboard. You may also purchase a wifi package for calls and video streaming.

Is to possible to receive mail while onboard? Yes! There is a central location where all mail is received and then distributed to the ships. Your shipboard HR team will be able to provide more details.

Would my cell phone work onboard? Cell phone service is available onboard; however, international roaming rates do apply. You may want to check the rates with your provider before using your cell phone.

Would I be able to buy some necessities (i.e. toiletries) onboard? The Crew Shop is a general store for crew on every ship. It sells all sorts of things you might want during a contract and charges low prices too.

Can I make purchases in the Gift Shop? The gift shop is available to crew members during crew sale events. Shipboard employees are entitled to a 20% discount (some items excluded).

Are there places to exercise? Yes! Each ship is equipped with a crew gym. We encourage you to take advantage of it and work out at your leisure.

Are there places to socialize with my teammates? Yes, there are different types of areas where you can socialize with your colleagues, including the crew bar, and other lounges and common crew areas.

Is there a hair salon onboard? Each ship features a spa and hair salon onboard, and treatments are offered at a discounted price to crewmembers. Appointments are necessary and, as expected, guests have priority. We also have a crew barber shop available. Please inquire with your shipboard HR team.

How do I get paid while onboard? Employees are paid in U.S. dollars twice a month to a pre-paid Mastercard operated by North Line.

How do I send my money home? You may wire transfer money to your land-based bank account from your pay card up to certain limits. Please note that there may be a nominal fee from the receiving banks.

Are taxes deducted? For U.S. citizens and residents, federal taxes are automatically deducted from pay. All other employees are responsible for filing and declaring their own taxes upon returning to their home country.

Should I bring cash with me? We suggest you bring at least $200-300 cash in U.S. dollars and/or a major credit card, to cover out-of-pocket expenses during travel and before receiving your first pay.

PORT QUESTIONS

Do I get to visit the ports? Definitely! When you are not on duty, you are welcome to explore the amazing destinations we visit. Just make sure you are back on time!

Can I participate in Shore Excursions? As a service to our guests, we offer organized tours when visiting the ports. If space is available, employees are welcome to enjoy the excursions at a discounted price.

Are there any activities to enjoy during my time off? At Royal Caribbean Group we believe in creating a fun work environment. We have a crew activities team onboard each ship in charge of hosting different events for our crew. From parties to sport tournaments, all activities are designed for our crew to enjoy life onboard.

Can family and friends come and visit me for the day? Employees can apply for a one-day visitors’ pass for family and friends; this must be requested with advanced notice. Please check with your supervisor for more details.

Celebrity Cruises Careers: Sail Into Your Dream Job

Embarking on a career with Celebrity Cruises isn’t just about a job; it’s about joining a unique lifestyle at sea. I’ve always been fascinated by the allure of the open ocean and the sophisticated charm of cruise ships. If you’re drawn to the thrill of travel and the luxury hospitality industry, you’re in the right place.

In this article, I’ll dive into the exciting opportunities that Celebrity Cruises offers, from dynamic onboard positions to rewarding roles on land. Whether you’re a seasoned hospitality professional or just starting out, there’s a place for you in the Celebrity family. So let’s set sail on this journey and explore what makes a career with Celebrity Cruises truly remarkable.

Onboard Opportunities with Celebrity Cruises

Stepping aboard a Celebrity cruise ship isn’t just a journey into the unknown, it’s an entry into a world of vibrant career opportunities. I’ve uncovered a plethora of positions that cater to a variety of skill sets and experiences—from entertainment to hospitality, each role is crafted to ensure that guests have a memorable voyage.

Entertainment jobs with Celebrity Cruises are among the most sought-after positions. Talented performers and behind-the-scenes technical staff bring the ship’s theaters and lounges to life. These roles include:

  • Sound and light technicians
  • Activity coordinators

For those with a knack for hospitality , there’s an abundance of roles aimed at amplifying guest experiences. These positions require attention to detail and a commitment to service excellence. Hospitality opportunities include:

  • Guest services personnel
  • Housekeeping staff
  • Culinary experts
  • Sommeliers and bartenders

Celebrity also heavily invests in the well-being of its guests through health and wellness programs. Fitness trainers, spa therapists, and beauty specialists contribute to a luxury experience that’s as rejuvenating as it is enjoyable.

Moreover, the culinary crew on a Celebrity cruise ship is second to none. The galley buzzes with activity as chefs, sous chefs, and various culinary staff produce dishes that rival those of top-tier restaurants. The emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients and innovative menus is a cornerstone of Celebrity’s food philosophy.

Not to forget, the nautical team , consisting of engineers, navigators, and deck officers, ensures that the journey is as smooth as the ocean’s horizon. These professionals are essential in maintaining the safety and technical precision critical to a ship’s operation.

As I’ve sailed through the opportunities available on board, I’ve learned that each role is not simply a job, but rather a passage to personal and professional growth. Celebrity Cruises extends constant support and emphasizes career advancement, ensuring that each employee’s voyage with the company is both rewarding and promising.

Land-Based Roles with Celebrity Cruises

While many associate Celebrity Cruises with high seas adventures and on-board employment, land-based opportunities are just as crucial to the company’s success. Operating a cruise line is a complex endeavor, and a talented workforce on land ensures seamless experiences for guests and smooth operations at sea.

As part of my extensive exploration into career paths, I’ve learned that land-based positions at Celebrity Cruises cover a broad spectrum of professional fields. Corporate careers often include roles in marketing, sales, finance, human resources, and information technology. These positions are essential for driving the strategic direction of the company and supporting the fleet across the globe.

Customer service also plays a pivotal role within the land-based team. Experts in reservation systems, travel coordination, and guest relations are necessary to establish and maintain the high level of client satisfaction that Celebrity Cruises is known for. These professionals are often the first point of contact, engaging with customers through call centers or digital platforms.

Moreover, the logistics and supply chain departments are the backbone behind the company’s operational efficiency. They manage everything from the procurement of quality goods to ensuring that each ship is stocked with everything needed to create an exceptional guest experience. These roles demand meticulous attention to detail and a keen understanding of global supply networks.

For those looking to grow their career while pushing the luxury cruising industry forward, Celebrity Cruises offers dynamic land-based positions that challenge and reward. From engineering revolutionary new ships to crafting unforgettable vacation experiences, the opportunities for professional advancement are boundless.

Further adding to the allure, Celebrity Cruises places a strong emphasis on employee development and engagement, fostering a culture where ideas can flourish, and innovation is encouraged. The company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is also evident in its workforce, promoting an environment where everyone is empowered to contribute to their fullest potential.

Engaging in a land-based career with Celebrity Cruises means not just a job, but becoming part of a global family that’s shaping the future of travel. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting, the roads leading to Celebrity Cruises’ shores are filled with promise and potential.

Sailing into a Rewarding Career with Celebrity Cruises

Embarking on a career with Celebrity Cruises is more than signing up for a job—it’s stepping into a world of adventure with a family of professionals dedicated to making each voyage unforgettable. I’ve explored the many facets of career opportunities on board, and it’s clear that each role is designed to enhance the traveler’s experience.

Onboard careers with Celebrity Cruises are diverse, ranging from entertainment to guest relations, and everything in between. They seek passionate individuals for their dynamic entertainment lineup, which includes performers, sound technicians, and stage managers. These team members are vital in creating an exhilarating atmosphere that guests talk about long after they disembark.

In the realm of culinary arts , chefs and kitchen staff are the heartbeat of the cruising experience. They create sumptuous meals that reflect both global flavors and the cruise line’s luxury status. Culinary professionals within Celebrity Cruises have access to state-of-the-art facilities, enhancing their skills and career progression.

The nautical team is entrusted with the safe navigation of the ship, requiring a steady hand and an alert mind. From the captain down to each officer, precision and diligence are the foundations of a successful voyage. A career here means being part of an elite team that’s responsible for the wellbeing of thousands at sea.

What’s more, career growth at Celebrity Cruises doesn’t end with the individual. Employee development programs are designed to identify and nurture talent, preparing team members for upward mobility within the company. Whether it’s through management training, skill development workshops, or cross-departmental opportunities, the company invests in its people, recognizing that their growth fuels the cruise line’s innovation and success.

As the industry continues to evolve, Celebrity Cruises remains at the forefront of employee satisfaction and career development, making it not just a place to work, but a place to thrive professionally. For those with a passion for travel, people, and a desire to deliver exceptional service, the possibilities are as vast as the open sea.

Travel Trending with Kathy Witt: Cruise Views: 6 surprises aboard Celebrity Cruises’ new Ascent

C elebrity Cruises’ Ascent casts a spell through the magic, music and magnificent art found aboard this beautiful new cruise ship, a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Rated resort at sea—not to mention those little luxury moments that surprise and enthrall throughout.

Here are six such moments to experience aboard the cruise line’s fourth Edge-class ship.

Art immersion

Celebrity is a master in the art of integrating surprises into the most unexpected places—like the Aurora, a reimagining of the aurora borealis as a corridor connecting spaces on Deck 5 that lets guests step into and through the artwork. Delightfully scented and filled with infinity mirrors and high-polished steel sculptures, the hushed space glows with 1,600 pinpricks of light.

The Fredrikson Stallard installation is stunning, the masterwork on a ship boasting a magnificent art collection that includes such sleek and striking pieces as a giant metallic octopus that welcomes guests with open tentacles to the chic Resort Deck with its beach club vibe and a mesmerizing, tiered chandelier illuminating the Martini Bar in the ship’s three-deck Grand Plaza.

Enchanted evening

With 32 distinctive restaurants, bars and lounges aboard the Ascent, guests have no lack of choice in mood, setting, ambience and cuisine. Fans of Harry Potter will be irresistibly drawn to the visual culinary dining experience presented by La Petite Chef and the Magical Cooking Book. Journey through four themed courses, including a “magical soup that will make all your wishes come true,” synchronized to a charming and colorful animated storyline that plays out across the book, the dinner plates and the table.

Everything about the experience feels enchanting, from the Potteresque background music to the castle-like lighting hanging from the ceiling to the heavy drapes closing out the darkness of the sea. It is a one-of-a-kind fantastical feast served in an intimate setting that begins with the production’s star—the little chef—climbing onto your plate and finishes with a masterful dessert like Chocolate Cremeux, a decadent mélange of raspberry coulis, chocolate crumble, yuzu caviar and raspberry sorbet. The upcharge for La Petite Chef and the Magical Cooking Book is $60.

Paradise found

With lavish greenery adorning the walls and ceiling and clustered around seating groups, natural light pouring in from a wall of windows and framing views of the ocean, Eden is a come-hither space whether dining, lingering over cocktails or catching a show. A signature venue on Celebrity’s Edge Class ships, the architecturally stunning three-story space is open and airy yet feels intimate and inviting.

The restaurant—among the very best on Ascent—offers exceptional food-focused dining beautifully plated and presented, from entrées like oven-roasted chicken served with duck fat potatoes, mushrooms, daikon leaves, fennel salad, pickled mustard and chicken apricot roasting jus to a melt-in-your-mouth Nova Scotia Lobster Casserole with glazed leeks, smoked bacon, sweet corn and marble potatoes. Guests can also opt for the seven-course tasting menu with wine and a multicourse plant-based tasting menu. As a specialty restaurant, there is a cover charge for dining in Eden.

Eden’s late-night transformation brings several unique and interactive shows, including Dreams, Allure and Shimmerbox, that dazzle with world-class performances in singing, choreography and acrobatics, all scored with music that elevates each spectacle.

Magic Carpet ride

The Magic Carpet is Celebrity’s signature cantilevered, outward-facing floating platform that moves up and down the side of the ship, hovering up to 13 stories above the open sea. Sink into a comfy chair, order a frothy cocktail from the bar and take in the view.

Innovative and versatile, the Magic Carpet is also a quick-change artist that can extend the main pool area on Deck 14, step in as an open-air dining venue on Deck 5 and transform into the Destination Getaway center where destination enrichment talks take place, and lead to the tendering launch pad for adventures ashore.

That’s entertainment

Bumbershoots and bustling commuters on a rainy London night open Ascent’s original musical, “Bridges,” a soaring tour de force exclusive to this ship and backed by mind-blowing technology, three-deck-high immersive screens, eye-popping lighting effects and an automated onstage bridge—the centerpiece of this multimillion dollar production.

Like Ascent’s other productions, “Bridges” was created by a powerhouse team that includes talent that conceptualized and choreographed for the likes of Katy Perry, Disney, Michael Jackson, Cirque du Soleil and more—and boy did they bring it with this sweeping celebration of human connections.

From London’s Tower Bridge and lamplit streets, the show moves to Venice, New York, San Francisco and Sydney, each backdrop featuring the iconic bridge synonymous with that city as well as reflective mood, dance moves and evocative music, from ELO and Adele to Alicia Keyes and the Beastie Boys. And despite the fast-paced breathless energy of the show, “Bridges” has the immediacy of a stage play.

The green on the blue

Sit amidst live greenery on Ascent’s lush Rooftop Garden and drink in 360-degree panoramic views of the ocean blue. Cushioned seating groups shaded by umbrellas provide plenty of lounge and conversation space. Large sculptures evoking butterfly wings rise up from the greenery, fire tables set aglow in the evening add allure and twin float pools cantilevered over said ocean draw sunseekers for a peaceful soak.

The open-air garden-like setting is not only a place for finding your Zen, but it is also a hive of activity and entertainment, with interactive live music performances, games for guest use, large TV screen and, for casual dining, the Rooftop Garden Grill.

Celebrity’s Ascent is a stunning, stylish ship that surprises at every turn, with wow-worthy food, music, technology, entertainment and art presented in the most gorgeous spaces, and delivers the cruise line’s mission of providing the best premium vacation ever.

The full line-up of stars going into the South African jungle for I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! were unveiled on Sunday’s premiere.

Hollywood child star Frankie Muniz and AFL legend Peter Daicos were already announced by Channel 10 at the weekend, as well as Australian radio host Brittany Hockley .

Kicking off the season 10 premiere episode was Malcolm in the Middle star Muniz, who was the first celebrity to arrive.

He was then joined by retired Australian iron-woman Candice Warner, who is the wife of Australian cricketer David Warner.

“I wasn’t expecting to see you here!” a stunned Warner said to Muniz.

Retired Paralympian Ellie Cole, British comedian Stephen K. Amos, influencer Skye Wheatley and former Studio 10 host Tristan MacManus also rounded out the first batch of celebs.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here Australia contestants revealed

Muniz found himself in the middle, with cast members left starstruck by his involvement in the Aussie show, with Amos telling him Malcolm in the Middle was his all-time favourite series.

The six celebrities were welcomed by long-running host Julia Morris and her new co-presenter Robert Irwin for the opening challenge, which saw Warner locked in a small, glass room filled with cockroaches.

Warner is having a great time.

Her five camp mates had to participate in a mystery box challenge to collect star pieces that would unlock the door and let her out.

Wheatley, who has a fear of snakes, broke down in tears upon realising there were several snakes in her compartment, with one of them biting her as she put her hand inside.

Wheatley broke down in tears.

The other five celebs were unveiled later in the episode during a separate challenge, including Daicos, Hockley, fitness businesswoman Michelle Bridges, Love Island star Callum Hole and MasterChef contestant Khanh Ong.

Julia Morris and Robert Irwin greet the further five celebs: Callum Hole, Peter Daicos, Khanh Ong, Brittany Hockley and Michelle Bridges.

They were tasked with an extreme heights challenge, set on a mountain 2km above the ground, in which a platform was set over the edge of the cliff.

Celebs had to make the terrifying walk out over the platform and stand on the ledge awaiting for a trap door to open below their feet, in which they had just three seconds to spot a number painted onto the cliff edge and scream it out.

The platform was set 2km above the ground.

Yet another celeb is set to head into the jungle as an intruder in the coming days, with Channel 10 describing them as a “national treasure”.

I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2024 cast:

Michelle Bridges

The fitness queen and author first shot to fame on The Biggest Loser , in which she was a trainer on the show from 2007 until 2015.

She’s since become one of the most well-known Aussie personalities, with two successful businesses, including her 12 Week Body Transformation program, 17 books and multiple TV appearances, her most recent being Celebrity Apprentice Australia in 2021.

The celeb cook shot to notoriety on 2018’s MasterChef Australia , before returning to the franchise in 2020 for MasterChef: Back to Win.

He also starred on the 9th season of Survivor, Australian Survivor: Blood V Water, in 2022.

Callum Hole

Hole was on Love Island Australia in 2022, where he placed runner-up.

He also starred on the US version of the show, Love Island Games.

Frankie Muniz

Muniz shot to fame aged 13 on the 2000 series Malcolm in the Middle , which ran for seven seasons.

He was dubbed the most bankable star in Hollywood in the early 2000s, starring in some of the most popular teen flicks including Agent Cody Banks and Big Fat Liar.

Muniz largely gave up on acting from 2008, and now fulfils his passion of race car driving.

Lifelong ‘ghostbusters’ fan tours movie’s iconic filming locations around nyc in $125k hearse he painstakingly restored.

Who you gonna call? This guy!

A New Jersey dad has spent years and a small fortune to build his own “Ghostbusters” Ecto-1 car – the perfect ride to tour the iconic Big Apple locations featured in the original movie.

Lifelong Ghostbusters fanatic Nicky Ferrara, 38, had dreamed of owning the Ecto-1 over the years but his quest for the car started rolling with an eBay find of a 1959 Cadillac Landau hearse that had been stored in a California garage for nearly 50 years.

Nicky Ferrara in his workshop, standing by the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 car replica he built

“Honestly, when they sold this car, they didn’t even know what they had,” the licensed customs broker told The Post during a recent tour in his Ecto-1.

“My wife said, ‘if you want to buy a hearse and make it a Ghostbusters car, do it,'” Ferrara said.

Ferrara immediately clicked the “buy it now” button, shelling out a cool $55,000 for the vintage hearse — he said it still reeked of formaldehyde when it rolled into the driveway of his Essex County home in 2014. All told he’s spent about $125,000 on the attention-grabbing vehicle.

He then embarked on the ultimate scavenger hunt, contacting scrap yards and garages from California to Toronto and across the Midwest in search of hard-to-find parts.

“I’m calling junk yards in the Midwest asking, ‘do you have this piece? Do you have that piece?'”

Ferrara made his replica out of a 1959 Cadillac Landau hearse that he bought on eBay.

His quest for a perfectly screen-accurate Ecto-1 even brought him to Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City, California to get a closer look at the original car used in the film, which was displayed on the lot at the time.

“I watched the movie a gazillion times to piece together the car but I wanted to get the exact measurements for the roof rack,” Ferrara said.

Armed with a selfie stick and tape measure, Ferrara snapped pictures of the car’s roof so he could accurately reproduce every detail.

Nicky Ferrara, 38, driving his replica of the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters, through Manhattan, New York City

Using a motley assortment of bits and bobs — including brackets and lights from a 1980s police cruiser and a siren from a 1960s fire engine — Ferrara successfully Frankensteined his Landau into a screen-realistic, road-ready version of the Ecto-1.

He says his kids Nicky, 5, and Domenica, 3, think “having this car is normal life, like, ‘oh, everyone has a Ghostbusters car.'”

Ferrara estimates there are a small handful of comparable Ecto-1 replicas out there, but says “all the other owners keep it in a showroom or museum — they really don’t take it out like me.”‘

The car has appeared at promotional and private events, on city tours — and Ferrara says he even uses the car as a “daily driver,” taking it to run errands, though he admits it’s not the most reliable ride on the road.

Ferrara even visited the real Ecto-1 at Sony Pictures Studio to get the details right.

“You’re constantly checking fluids, tweaking with the brakes and the brake lines, it’s a labor of love,” Ferrara says.

“Every time you start it up, you hold your breath a bit.”

With Ferrara’s investment and attention to detail, the car has been appraised for $300,000, he said.

He’s since put the car to work, taking fans of the franchise on spook-tacular tours around Manhattan to spotlight some of the movie’s best-known filming locations.

Stops include the New York Public Library, Tavern on the Green, and the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, which the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man famously stepped on in the movie.

Ferrara driving his Ecto-1 in New York City.

Of course, no Ghostbusters-themed tour would be complete without a stop at FDNY Hook & Ladder Company 8 in Tribeca, home of Ghostbusters headquarters in the film.

Ferrara even keeps the car stocked with essential Ghostbusters equipment like proton packs and ghost traps for fans to pose with outside the firehouse.

A private tour in Ferrara’s Ecto-1 runs $850 for two people plus $100 per extra guest, or $275 per guest for a public tour where riders are paired with other people.

Ferrara says he has an understanding with the Ghostbusters rightsholder Sony Pictures that enables him to run his business without fear of a copyright suit.

The Ecto-1 parked at the FDNY Hook & Ladder Company 8 in Tribeca.

He even did a promotion with the company for the latest release in the series, “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” in exchange for red-carpet tickets to the film’s premiere for his mechanic and promoter.

“I was hesitant to do ghost tours, but ever since Sony relaunched the brand with the female reboot, they’ve been more encompassing of the fan base,” Ferrara said.

“I floated the idea of tours with Sony and they’re like, ‘we’re good, that’s fine’ it just can’t be in any short films or movies.”

Whenever Ferrara rolls his Ecto-1 into town, people take notice.

A "Ghostbusters" fan checking out the replica car.

The Post took a ride with Ferrara on a preview run of the latest iteration of his ghost tour, set to launch later this year. To say the car turns heads is a bit of an understatement.

“You feel like a celebrity just driving it, to see the way people react is just incredible,” he said, clearly relishing the moment.

“I love driving this car. It’s so much fun. And as we drive, if you look at the people’s faces, they lose their sh–t.”

Just as he promised, pedestrians of all stripes stopped what they were doing to gawk as the car rolled by.

A traffic cop in Midtown stopped writing a parking ticket to belt out a “Ghost-bus-ters!” to the tune of the movie’s theme song by Ray Parker Jr. upon seeing the hearse.

Cops especially seem to love the Ecto-1, Ferrara said, and regularly egg him on to fire up the lights and sirens, even though they’re “technically illegal” to have on a civilian vehicle.

“They encourage it, which is really, really cool.”

A construction crew wearing reflective vests and hard hats let out a hearty “hell yeah!” as Ferrara drove by, prompting Ferrara to get on the public address system and ask “Have you guys seen any ghosts?”

New Yorkers catching a glimpse of the car flashed ear-to-ear smiles of recognition and whipped out their camera phones to snap a photo or record video.

Many people said Ghostbusters has a personal significance in their lives.

Outside of 55 Central Park West, better known as “Spook Central,” where the film’s climactic final stand-off took place, Gregory Pozamantir, 62, recalled watching a pirated VHS tape of the film as a youth in Leningrad.

Ferrara did a promotion with Sony Pictures for the new movie "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire."

“I saw Ghostbusters on a bootleg VHS copy, not official at all. Us kids had to find someone with a VCR player, which were very expensive back in those days,” he shared.

“It brings back a lot of memories seeing this car. I need to watch the movie again.”

Simon Calderon, 34, from Highbridge in the Bronx, was sporting a full Ghostbusters suit complete with homemade proton pack when Ferrara’s Ecto-1 unexpectedly pulled up outside the Tribeca firehouse.

“I adore this car. Some people want a Lamborghini or an Aston Martin like James Bond — give me the Ecto-1 any day of the week,” he said.

As much as he loves Ghostbusters, Ferrara said next he has plans to collect and restore a fleet of other famous movie cars for similar tours.

On his shortlist of upcoming projects include the DeLorean from “Back to the Future,” the Ford Explorer tour car from “Jurassic Park,” and a Volkswagen van from “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” he plans to convert into a “mobile pizza catering truck.”

Ferrara says he thinks of himself as the car’s custodian, a role he takes seriously.

“I own the car, but it’s like the people’s car. It belongs to the fandom.”

Released in 1984 and starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson as the titular Ghostbusters, the film was a smash hit, grossing more than $282 million in its initial theatrical run.

It spawned a 1989 sequel, “Ghostbusters II,” but the series remained dormant for more than 25 years until 2016’s female-led reboot, also titled “Ghostbusters.”

Releases in the 2020s so far include 2021’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” and “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” released in March 2024.

Carnival Freedom cancels next 2 cruises following exhaust fire from ship’s tail

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Carnival Cruise Lines have announced the cancellation of the next two voyages on the Carnival Freedom after the ship’s exhaust funnel caught fire off the coast of the Bahamas on Saturday.

In a statement to WFLA.com, Carnival said that the damage was more than they initially thought, as it requires immediate repair for the stabilization of the funnel.

VIDEO: Carnival Freedom catches on fire

Consequently, they have canceled the next two voyages, departing March 25 and March 29, out of Port Canaveral.

All guests sailing on these dates will be issued a full refund and “a 100% future cruise credit so they can come back and enjoy a future cruise with us.”

Carnival said the funnel was stabilized for the ship’s return to Port Canaveral overnight to disembark their guests.

“While we continue to investigate multiple eyewitness reports of a lightning strike, our technical team completed a thorough assessment during the ship’s visit to Freeport today,” the company added.

Toddler suffers 2nd, 3rd degree burns at Florida day care, family says

On Monday, the ship will go to the Freeport shipyard to undergo the required repairs.

Around 3:15 p.m. Saturday, the port side of the ship’s exhaust funnel caught fire, with a portion of the tail falling onto Deck 10.

Rumors swirled that a lightning strike from severe weather caused the fire, but that has not been confirmed. Two crew members were treated for minor smoke inhalation, and no guests were injured.

The U.S. Coast Guard was alerted and has activated their response team.

Carnival added that they appreciate all their guests currently sailing with them and for their cooperation and support.
