the weeknd after hours tour hamburg

Seems The Weeknd is feeling confident the world will be ready for a massive concert outing by this time next year.

In the first major global tour announced by anyone for 2022, the R&B star has unveiled a new itinerary for his After Hours Tour, originally scheduled for 2020 then postponed amid the pandemic.

The Weeknd has added 39 shows to the new After Hours schedule, which is scheduled to launch Jan. 14, 2022, in Vancouver and run through Nov. 16, 2022, in London.

For previously announced shows, existing tickets will be honored and new tickets will go on sale today. For newly added shows and markets, tickets will become available at 10 a.m. Monday local time.

This is a high-profile stretch for the singer-songwriter born Abel Tesfaye in Toronto: He'll play the halftime show at Sunday's Super Bowl, following the Friday release of a career hits collection titled "The Highlights."

Meanwhile, his track "Blinding Lights" continues its commanding reign, logging yet another week in the upper reaches of the Billboard Hot 100. The single has now spent 47 weeks in the Top 10, an all-time chart record.

The Weeknd Variety Cover Story

2020 was shaping up to be another huge year for The Weeknd, with a new album, a global tour and not least, a Variety cover story . Well, despite a global pandemic, the album and cover story happened as planned, but the tour obviously had to wait — and on Wednesday afternoon, The Weeknd revealed rescheduled dates for the “After Hours” tour, which remarkably will see nearly every show taking place almost exactly a year after its original date — only the New Orleans date has been cancelled.

Late in March, shortly after the tour was postponed, the Weeknd stressed to Variety : “The tour is still happening — we’re not canceling. We just have to rearrange the dates, which is unfortunate but certainly understandable.”

And sure enough, the tour begins in Vancouver, as planned, but on June 12 of 2021, and wraps in Berlin in November (full dates below), with more dates to be announced soon.

All tickets will be transferable to the newly scheduled dates. The tour asks ticket holders to please hold on to your tickets as they will be honored for the new dates. If you are a ticket holder and cannot make the new show, you will receive an email directly allowing you to request a refund.

Support artists Sabrina Claudio, and Don Toliver will continue on the rescheduled tour for all dates in North America while Sabrina Claudio and Black Atlass will support all shows in the EU.
