Allison Russell

Brittney spencer, charley crockett.

Absent from the festival stage for the second consecutive year will be Farm Aid board member Neil Young , who recently responded to a fan’s letter on his website, stating: “I will not be at Farmaid this year. I am not ready for that yet. I don’t think it is safe in the pandemic. I miss it very much.” Young cited COVID-19 concerns in sitting out the 2021 festival in Hartford, Conn.. In 2020, Farm Aid was presented online.

Although Farm Aid had no further comment on Young’s decision, he was not included in the lineup revealed today (July 26). The organization notes it is “staying up to date on the latest CDC guidance and industry best practices to limit the transmission of COVID-19. Farm Aid is taking various precautions, including enhanced sanitation protocols and streamlined operations to prevent unnecessary crowding. Farm Aid will monitor the situation closely and will update protocols as warranted leading up to the festival.”

Farm Aid tickets will go on sale to the public on Saturday, July 30, at 10 a.m. ET, at LiveNation.com. A limited number of pre-sale tickets will be available beginning at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, July 27, at www.farmaid.org/tickets .

Event updates will be posted on Twitter (@FarmAid), Facebook (facebook.com/farmaid) and Instagram (instagram.com/farmaid), and at farmaid.org/festival. The organization is promoting use of the hashtags #FarmAid2022 and #Road2FarmAid on social media.

The festival’s return to the Raleigh amphitheater, where it previously was staged in 2014, “will showcase how farmers are leading the way to mitigate climate change by sharing their stories on the Farm Aid stage and throughout the event,” the organization announced.

“I’ve always said that family farmers strengthen us all,” said Nelson in a statement. “Farmers in North Carolina, across the Southeast, and all over the country are growing solutions to our toughest challenges, including climate change. We’re bringing Farm Aid here to highlight their hard work and celebrate the ways we can all join farmers to help.”

In a singular example of a musician’s commitment to a cause, Nelson has maintained his focus on supporting America’s family farmers across four decades, since launching Farm Aid in 1985.

Since 1985, with the support of artists who contribute their performances, the organization has raised more than $64 million to support programs that help family farmers thrive. Farm Aid year-round takes action to shift the nation away from industrial agriculture and to expand the markets for food from family farms.

Aside from its hours of great music, Farm Aid is an annual gathering place for activists involved in the Good Food Movement and related concerns with social justice and the environment. Attendees will have access to Homegrown Concessions, Farm Aid’s trademarked menu of food produced by family farmers, using ecological practices, with a fair price paid to the farmers. A portion of the Walnut Creek amphitheater site will be set aside for Homegrown Village, featuring activities to highlight issues around soil, water, energy, food and farming.

Farm Aid is well positioned to highlight the importance of farming to its host state of North Carolina. The organization notes that agriculture generates $92.7 billion annually and employs 17.5% of the state’s workforce (more than 700,000 jobs). It is home to 41,500 farms and farmland makes up more than 8.3 million acres of the state, with direct to consumer sales “creating the foundation for a vibrant local food system,” according to Farm Aid’s festival announcement.

And yet, the announcement continues, “across the state, climate change has a considerable impact — especially on communities of color, rural communities and those working in agriculture. North Carolina farmers are implementing techniques to mitigate climate change, including planting crops to cover soil between growing seasons, rotating crops, reducing soil tillage, integrating livestock and crop production, raising pastured livestock, and improving soil and water management.”

For the second consecutive year, the country lifestyle network Circle — a partnership of Gray Television and the Opry Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of Ryman Hospitality Properties, Inc. — will be the exclusive broadcast partner of Farm Aid, and will also carry coverage on its Facebook, Twitter and TikTok pages. The festival also will air live on FarmAid.org and the organization’s YouTube channel. Farm Aid’s sponsors this year include Patagonia Workwear and DISH Network.

“Everywhere we go, we hear from festival-goers that there’s nothing quite like the Farm Aid experience,” Farm Aid executive director Carolyn Mugar says in a statement. “Farmers and eaters are inspired and empowered at the intersection of music and family farm food to support the source of our food — family famers — and to join farmers in fighting for our soil and water. We will celebrate the family farmers of the Southeast and amplify their voices on the Farm Aid stage in September.”

George Strait

George Strait and Chris Stapleton with special guest Little Big Town bring supersized Strait To Vegas show to Allegiant Stadium on December 7, 2024

Sep 12 / 2023.

Setting venue attendance records across seven stadium shows this summer, country music icon George Strait and eight-time GRAMMY winner Chris Stapleton continue the excitement into 2024. Returning alongside the King of Country and Stapleton for the extended run of one-off stadium dates are special guests and GRAMMY Award-winning band Little Big Town . Strait will supersize his longstanding Strait to Vegas show when the tour makes a stop in Las Vegas to mark the 37th installment of the engagement at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, December 7, 2024 .

Tickets go on sale next Friday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. local time via GeorgeStrait.com . American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Friday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. local time through Thursday, Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. local time.

Of the few opportunities to see Strait perform live, Pollstar opines, “Strait remains the most worthy inheritor of Merle Haggard or Willie Nelson’s mantle of country icon through the meaningful fluidity with which he moves through country’s various sub-strains with the same ease and enjoyment that marked both men’s Country Music Hall of Fame careers.”

“I’ve always said we have the best fans in the world, and to see so many of them show up for these shows just makes us want to keep bringing them more,” shares Strait. “I’ve also missed performing in Las Vegas during NFR, so I’m happy to see that show come together in 2024. See you soon!”

About George Strait George Strait is the unambiguous King of Country Music, having sold more than 105 million albums and counting while earning more than 60 major entertainment industry awards as well as countless nominations and becoming the only act in history to have a Top 10 hit every year for over three decades. With 33 different Platinum or multi-Platinum albums, he’s earned the third-most certifications of any artist in any genre, following only The Beatles and Elvis Presley, and with a total of 60, Strait has more No. 1 songs than any other artist in history (including Elvis).

The Texas troubadour released 2019’s best-selling Country album, Honky Tonk Time Machine , on MCA Nashville, produced by Strait and Chuck Ainlay, the album quickly became Strait’s record-extending 27th No. 1 Billboard Country album. Comprised of 12 original titles plus Strait’s version of the Johnny Paycheck classic “Old Violin,” Honky Tonk Time Machine marks an incredible 30th career studio album from the Country Music Hall of Fame member, who earned his 100th entry on the  Billboard  Country Airplay chart with his single “The Weight of the Badge” from the project.

Since his record-breaking  Cowboy Rides Away Tour  in 2014, Strait has performed for limited engagements, most notably at Las Vegas’s T-Mobile Arena for his long running “Strait to Vegas” series. In 2022, he also made his 31st appearance at the iconic Houston Rodeo on the event’s final night and headlined two nights at Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena. 2023 has seen Strait set concert attendance records at multiple venues as he has teamed up with Chris Stapleton for a series of one-off stadium shows in just six markets, with Little Big Town also appearing on each date.   About Chris Stapleton  Kentucky-born Chris Stapleton is an eight-time GRAMMY, 14-time CMA and 10-time ACM Award winner and one of the country’s most respected and beloved musicians who will release his highly anticipated new album,  Higher , on November 10 (Mercury Nashville).   Produced by Dave Cobb, Morgane Stapleton and Chris Stapleton and recorded at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A, the record consists of 14 tracks that showcase Stapleton’s supernatural voice and musical versatility with songs that defy easy categorization. Already receiving overwhelming notice, the album's lead single, “White Horse,” recently achieved the biggest add day of the last 12 months at country radio and marks the highest chart debut of Stapleton's career. Released to critical acclaim,  Billboard  praises, “‘White Horse’ finds Stapleton pairing an outlaw swagger with some heaven-scraping vocals, going for the gusto throughout the chorus to try and match the guitar snarl.”   The new music adds to another landmark year for Stapleton, who is nominated for three awards at this year’s 57th Annual CMA Awards: Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year. He was also named Entertainer of the Year at the 58th ACM Awards—resulting in a prestigious ACM Triple Crown Award—and Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2022 CMA Awards, his sixth time earning the award, setting the record for most wins ever in the category. Additionally, in February, he performed the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVII and has collaborated in recent years with Adele, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, P!nk, Sheryl Crow, Santana and many more.

About Little Big Town GRAMMY, ACM, CMA, AMA and Emmy Award-winning group, Little Big Town – consisting of members Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman, and Jimi Westbrook – first entered the music scene over 20 years ago with hit songs “Boondocks,” “Bring It On Home,” “Good As Gone” and the GRAMMY-nominated “Little White Church.” The band’s breakthrough albums  Tornado  and  Pain Killer  produced multiple No. 1 singles, including “Pontoon,” “Tornado,” and “Day Drinking,” as well as the history-making, best-selling country single of the year (2015) “Girl Crush.” 2017’s  The Breaker  debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Charts to critical acclaim. The album features their GRAMMY-winning, multi-week No. 1 single, “Better Man,” as well as the 2019 GRAMMY-nominated, “When Someone Stops Loving You.” The band’s self-produced ninth studio album,  Nightfall,  was released January 2020 and hit the top of the Billboard Country Charts. The record included critically acclaimed and GRAMMY-nominated “The Daughters,” “Over Drinking” and “Wine, Beer, Whiskey” – the latter of which has reached almost 400 million global streams. In September 2022 they released their tenth studio album,  Mr. Sun,  which debuted as the Top Country Album released by a Group in 2022. Little Big Town has earned more than 45 award show nominations and has taken home nearly 20 awards, including multiple GRAMMY, AMA, People’s Choice, CMA and ACM Awards, in addition to an Emmy award.

Chris Stapleton Announces Rescheduled ‘All-American Road Show’ Tour, Adds Even More Dates

chris stapleton tour raleigh nc

I love seeing all these new tour announcements coming out. Nothing like getting up on a Monday morning and hearing about another artist who’s finally ready to hit the road again.

Especially when that artist is Chris Stapleton .

Chris of course had to postpone his 2020 All-American Road Show  tour due to COVID, but as things slowly get back to normal, he’s finally revealed the dates for the rescheduled concerts – along with a ton of new shows added to the schedule.

. @ChrisStapleton 's #AllAmericanRoadShow with special guests The Marcus King Band & Yola is coming to Oak Mountain Amphitheatre on Fri. September 17, 2021! Get more info at https://t.co/ckw6Fqf1Fs pic.twitter.com/c84FXo0SB5 — Oak Mountain Amp (@oakmtnamp) April 19, 2021

The tour will kick off on July 17 with the rescheduled show at Wrigley Field, and will run all the way through June 2022. Joining Chris on tour will be a killer slate of opening acts including Caylee Hammack, Dwight Yoakam, Elle King, Jamey Johnson, Kendell Marvel, Margo Price, Mavis Staples, Nikki Lane, Sheryl Crow, The Dirty Knobs with Mike Campbell, The Highwomen, The Marcus King Band, Willie Nelson, and Yola.

Tickets for the newly-added shows will go on sale starting April 30, and you can check out the entire list of stops and opening acts below.

While 2020 was a total bust, 2021 is shaping up to be a hell of a year for concerts as touring ramps back up – and Chris’s tour is definitely going to be one that you won’t want to miss.

Chris also performed the heartbreaking “Maggie’s Song” in a duet with Miranda Lambert at the ACM Awards last night, so if you need to see it again to prepare to hear this one live, here you go:

Hot off of winning the ACM Album of the Year for his most recent release Starting Over , Chris Stapleton has added dates to his upcoming “All-American Roadshow” tour, which has been pushed back multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but will commence in earnest come July 17th in Chicago. Many of the dates are rescheduled dates with tickets on sale and dates sold out previously, but a few new dates have been added as well (see below). Joining Chris Stapleton as always will be a host of cool openers decidedly outside of the cast of mainstream country’s usual suspects. This includes Mike Campbell’s band The Dirty Knobs with whom Stapleton collaborated with on his latest album, Elle King, Kendell Marvel, Nikki Lane, Yola, Jamey Johnson, Dwight Yoakam, The Marcus King Band, Margo Price, and Sheryl Crow (of course). Chris Stapleton has also rescheduled his “A Concert for Kentucky” benefit at Kroger Field in Lexington for April 23rd, 2022, which will feature Willie Nelson & Family, Sheryl Crow, and Yola. Stapleton is also bringing Caylee Hammack out for a select group of shows, after the two just released a duet version of Hammack’s breakout song “ Small Town Hypocrite .” All dates, openers, and when tickets will go on sale for new dates below.

I’m going to the Pittsburgh (Burgettstown) date and getting great seats and wearing my Saving County Music t-shirt and sitting on my hands during Margo Price’s set!

' src=

Where did you get a SCM t-shirt? Gots to have one of those.

' src=

I second Number 8. I need a SCM shirt.

Trig, merch anytime soon?

' src=

Trig, I’d be happy to design your merch with my hallmark wit & classy humor!

' src=

Have you ever seen Margo live?

She may be an asshole…but you still might end up standing, haha.

' src=

A ton in the beginning, but never as a headliner. I think we saw her 4 or 5 times in 2016 because she was a part of every Willie Nelson event: 4th of July Picnic, Outlaw Fest., Farm Aid. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen her. But, I don’t like her as a person.

' src=

Yesss Yola!

As Yola would say…. YOLO – “You Only Live Once”

Is anyone going to see Kelsey Grammer on the “Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs Tour” ?? A night of lavish opera.

(Jokes aside, I’m glad touring is coming back. A light at the end of the tunnel indeed)

' data-tf-not-load src=

Elle King and Kendal Marvel near me. Have to check ticket prices. Was almost $200 a ticket last time he came this way. I decided to pass.

' data-tf-not-load src=

$200 is obscene and I don’t care who’s playing. I really am starting to have reservations about some of these “common” folk artists when seeing how they morph under fame and money into someone very different than what they sold us on in the beginning.

Yeah, the ticket prices are ridiculous these days. He’ll be playing an outdoor theater this time around. You can get tickets back in the grass area for $50. They go up closer you get to the stage where they are $180. I’m thinking about grass tickets and binoculars lol.

' data-tf-not-load src=

They ain’t Kid Rock. He put his money where his mouth is, regardless what you think of his mouth.

I saw Kid Rock the summer before the COVID crap. Was $25 for the grass area. I got tickets for the second section back for $40 a ticket. Great concert and good value.

' data-tf-not-load src=

I just wanna Be at the Everlovin NH Concerts From central Ma ~!!!

' data-tf-not-load src=

I am just happy to see touring dates in the near future.
