It certainly pays to be loyal to one particular cruise line. Most cruise lines offer incentives for repeat customers with loyalty programs. These tiered programs offer cruisers more and more perks as they work their way up the ranks. In this Guide to Royal Caribbean Crown and Anchor Society Levels, we provide all the details on each level in this loyalty program including all the associated benefits.

How to Sign Up for Royal Caribbean’s Crown and Anchor Society

Becoming a member of Royal Caribbean’s Crown and Anchor Society is easy. All you need to do is take a cruise! Royal Caribbean cruisers are automatically enrolled in the Crown and Anchor Society after completion of their first sailing.

Why You Should Book a 2021 Cruise Now

Cruisers then receive loyalty points equal to the number of cruise days sailed. For instance, a 7-day cruise will earn you 7 points. Guests who book suites will earn double points. This point structure applies to all cruise destinations . Further, the cruise line will occasionally run promotions offering double points for booking. Hint: This sale is happening right now!

How to Earn Points in Royal Caribbean’s Crown and Anchor Society

As mentioned above, you will accrue Crown and Anchor points for each night you spend on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship (or double points in some instances). Cruisers will receive these points after completing their cruise.

Therefore, if a current sailing bumps you into the next level, you will not recognize the new benefits until your next sailing. Further, you will earn these points based on the cabin category for which you paid. Complimentary or reduced rate upgrades do no qualify for additional points.

Crown and Anchor members can be added to other family members in the same household to receive equivalent tier status. Though, you will not receive an adjustment to your point accrual.

Dependents can not achieve Pinnacle Club, and children will be removed from a family relationship upon their 18th birthday. Pinnacle Club member tier status can only be earned by an individual or spouse accumulating 700 cruise points or more.

Like most loyalty programs, the more points you accumulate, the more benefits you receive.

These benefits are broken down into three groups: Exclusive Savings, Onboard Rewards, and Benefits on Land. These benefits vary by Crown and Anchor Society levels but can range from onboard discounts, to private events, and booking discounts on certain room categories.

PLATINUM: To move up to the second tier in the Crown and Anchor Society, you will need to achieve 30 points. This equates to as few as 5 traditional length cruises if staying in a traditional stateroom. This is also the first tier where you will begin to receive discounts on balcony and suite staterooms.

EMERALD: The third Royal Caribbean Crown and Anchor Society level is Emerald. You will achieve this tier at 55 points. There is not much difference in terms of perks between Emerald and Platinum status.

DIAMOND: You will achieve Diamond level in Royal Caribbean’s Crown and Anchor Society at 80 points. In addition, this is the first category where the benefits really start to add up. The biggest perk is access to the Diamond Lounge and nightly free drinks.

DIAMOND PLUS: You will need 175 points to reach the Diamond Plus level. This is what we are working on now. This tier will qualify you for a Behind the Scenes tour. In addition, you will have priority seating in some entertainment venues, among a few other perks. Plus, since this is a very large point category, bonus gifts are also provided at 340 and 525 points.

PINNACLE: Every Royal Caribbean cruiser’s dream is to become Pinnacle one day. To attain this Royal Caribbean Crown and Anchor Society level, you will need a whopping 700 points. This is about two full years at sea! Of course, your rewards for being the most loyal cruisers are many extra perks. This includes milestone FREE CRUISES!

Diamond (and above) Benefits Update

With restrictions due to COVID, capacity in the Diamond Lounge will be limited. Instead, Royal Caribbean now issues drink vouchers to members to minimize crowding in the Lounge during Happy Hour. Diamond status will receive 4 vouchers, Diamond Plus 5 vouchers, and Pinnacle 6 vouchers.

The best part is that these vouchers can be used on any drink up to $13. Further, they can be used any time of day, including on Perfect Day at CocoCay.

While this incentive originally started on Adventure of the Seas cruises from the Bahamas, it has now been rolled out fleetwide.

Royal Caribbean Crown and Anchor Society Levels Benefits

Also, the exclusive savings offered for each of the Royal Caribbean Crown and Anchor Society Levels are pretty similar. They include discounts on balcony and suite staterooms and reduced rate upgrades (when available). Plus, deals for Crown & Anchor exclusive rates up to 25% off.

Also, there are select onboard offers which are detailed in a welcome letter in your stateroom. Most tiers also qualify for an exclusive Top Tier event onboard the ship and a signature lapel pin. In addition, guests of Emerald or above status will qualify for welcome beverages and cookies in their stateroom.

Welcome Letter onboard discounts are additional offers that are pre-loaded to your SeaPass card on the cruise. These offers are subject to change and vary based on tier status. Plus, these offers sometimes vary even by ship. For example, below are Diamond level benefits from a recent cruise. Keep in mind, these benefits apply to each member not each stateroom.

With all of the craziness of the last two years and with our cruises being delayed there will be little time between our achieving Emerald status and then 6 days later leaving on another cruise which we will be Diamond status. We booked during the double points offer and are going on back to back 11 nights Vision(on which we will become Emerald status), 10 nights Vision(on which we will achieve our Diamond status) then we will return to Ft. Lauderdale 5 days after completion of those two cruises to board the Allure at which time we will have become Diamond status. How can we be assured our upgrades to our status will be completed in this time frame? Originally we would have had approximately 2 weeks between 2nd and 3rd cruises which would be plenty of time to post. Please advise that this can be accomplished in such a short turn around! Thank you

Full Guide to Royal Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor Society (Benefits, How it Works, and More)

Are you someone who is “loyal to Royal”? If so, then you are likely already a member of the cruise line’s Crown & Anchor Society.

royal caribbean cruise points levels

While it sounds like some secret club at a private college, Crown & Anchor is Royal Caribbean’s loyalty rewards program. Anyone can be a member and earn points for taking cruises. The more points you earn, the higher your status on the ship, which leads to more benefits and rewards.

Put simply, if you like to sail with Royal Caribbean, then the program can grant you all sorts of freebies like special gifts, discounts, and even free cruises.

Still, there is much more to know about the ins and outs of the program, including questions that many people have about how it works.

For more details on the Crown & Anchor Society and answers to frequently-asked questions, we have you covered below…

In This Article...

What Is the Crown & Anchor Society?

Crown & Anchor is the name of Royal Caribbean’s loyalty program for its cruise guests. With each cruise taken, passengers earn points with the program. The more points earned, the higher the status level within Crown & Anchor.

Earn high enough status and you can receive a number of freebies, rewards, and benefits. The perks can include everything from special discounts and rates on cruises to invites to member-only functions to free drinks, free cruises, and more.

Why Should I Join the Program? How Do I Sign Up?

Frankly, there is no reason not to sign up for Crown & Anchor. There is no cost to enroll, and you have the ability to earn a number of perks without doing anything extra. After all, if you’re going to be taking a cruise anyway, then you may as well be rewarded for doing so.

If you want to sign up, you actually don’t even have to do anything. New U.S. guests are automatically enrolled after their first cruise with Royal Caribbean. If you have sailed before on Royal Caribbean but aren’t a member, then you can call the company at 1-800-526-9723 (outside the U.S./Canada: 541-285-9723).

As well, you can visit the Loyalty Ambassador on your cruise to sign up. Just ask Guest Services for the location once onboard.

How Do I Earn Points?

It’s extremely simple to earn points toward status. All you have to do is take cruises. Members are awarded one point for every night sailed. So if you sail a seven-night cruise, then you earn seven points. A three-night trip is worth three points.

There is one tweak to know — you earn double points if you sail in suite accommodations. So book a suite on a week-long cruise and you’ll earn 14 points instead of just seven.

In addition, we have seen promotions from Royal Caribbean from time to time that award double points for any sailing as an incentive to book.

Do Points Expire or Does Status Level Fall?

No. There is no mention of points expiring or losing status due to not sailing the cruise line for an extended period. In fact, we personally have points going back nearly a decade from past cruises.

Obviously it can take years to build up enough points to earn the higher status levels. Having points that expire would make this incredibly difficult to do. Thankfully, it’s not something members have to worry about.

What Status Levels Are There in the Crown & Anchor Society?

In total, there are six levels within Crown & Anchor. Each level comes with more benefits. All members start out at Gold level, with the highest rank being the Pinnacle Club.

  • Gold (3 Points) : The first level of the Crown & Anchor program, which is awarded after sailing three nights.
  • Platinum (30 Points) : Sail 30 nights — or 15 in a suite — and reach Platinum status aboard the ship.
  • Emerald (55 Points) : It takes 55 points to reach Emerald status, or nearly two months on the ship in a typical cabin.
  • Diamond (80 Points) : After 80 points you reach Diamond status, which is where the benefits really begin to ramp up.
  • Diamond Plus (175 Points) : Spend nearly six months on a Royal Caribbean ship and you’ll reach Diamond Plus. Here, you get early access to theaters, personalized gifts, and more.
  • Pinnacle Club (700 Points) : The highest level in the Crown & Anchor Society is the Pinnacle Club. It takes “only” about two years of sailing in a balcony cabin to reach this level.

What Are the Crown & Anchor Society Benefits?

No matter what level you reach, there are some benefits awarded to your status. Obviously, the higher your level, the more perks and rewards that you will see.

For instance, members who are Diamond level and above now receive drink vouchers for daily drinks at bars around the ship. Pinnacle Club members receive certificates for free cruises. And Platinum level and above receive robes to use on the ship.

Below is a list of benefits by status level. Keep in mind that benefits may change from time to time.

Note: As of August 24, 2021 Royal Caribbean also offers free drinks for Diamond members and above:

“We’re excited to now offer our Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club members beverage vouchers for drinks up to $13. Each day of the cruise, Diamond members receive four vouchers, Diamond Plus members receive five vouchers, and Pinnacle Club members receive six vouchers. These can be used at any bar, at any time, in the Diamond Lounge during Happy Hour or in our private destinations. Consider it happy hour all day long!”

Do I Get Special Fares for Being a Member?

Yes. One of the perks listed is “Crown & Anchor Exclusive Rates” for cruises. This applies to all members from Gold through Pinnacle Club. This does not mean you’ll get a discount off of every cruise. The terms and conditions says it applies only to “specific ship and sail dates.”

In addition, Platinum level and above can see discounts on balcony and suite cabins as a benefit of being a member.

What if I Reach a New Status During a Cruise?

So say you have 25 points in the Crown & Anchor Society and are booked on a seven-day sailing. At the end of the trip, you’ll have 32 points, putting you in the Platinum category. How does that work regarding your benefits and status? Do you get them mid-trip?

Royal Caribbean is clear that “next tier benefits will be applied on the following sailing after points status has been earned.”

In other words, you only get the benefits of being in a higher status tier on your next sailing.

Do I Earn Points for Booked Cruises?

Have several cruises booked and hope that it bumps up your status level? That’s not the case. With the Crown & Anchor Society, points are earned after the sailing is completed.

“Cruise Points are awarded to the guest whose name is entered into the reservation at the time of booking and completes the sailing.”

So if you have enough trips booked to be in a higher status but have yet to actually sail the days, then you won’t earn points for the trips just yet.

What if I Have a Past Cruise Without Points?

royal caribbean cruise points levels

Have you sailed with Royal Caribbean in the past, yet don’t have the points showing in your Crown & Anchor membership? In that case, it’s a good idea to contact the cruise line.

Royal Caribbean’s website said that “requests to add missing cruise points may be submitted up to 12 months after the debarkation date of your sailing.”

Even if you have a past trip that’s beyond one year ago, it certainly doesn’t hurt to contact the cruise line and ask about receiving credit.

How Do I Contact the Crown & Anchor Society?

Have a question about the program? You can contact Royal Caribbean’s loyalty program via the following channels:

  • Phone (U.S./Canada): 1-800-526-9723
  • Phone (Outside U.S./Canada): 541-285-9723
  • Email: [email protected]

Does Status Apply to Other Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines like Celebrity?

Royal Caribbean is a sister line to other cruise lines owned by its parent company, namely Celebrity Cruises.

One nice perk is that your status can extend to the other cruise lines . So your status earned on Royal Caribbean also applies to Celebrity. And the status earned on Celebrity can move over to Royal. You’ll want to call the cruise line for details on how to attain your status.

Note that points earned on Celebrity won’t translate over to Royal Caribbean. So if you have 50 points on Royal Caribbean and sail for a week on a Celebrity cruise, you won’t then have 57 points on Royal Caribbean after the trip.

Royal Caribbean is one of the world’s largest cruise lines and a favorite among many cruise travelers, operating over 25 ships and sailing to over 300 destinations around the world.

One of the things Royal Caribbean is known for is its enormous mega-ships including Symphony of the Seas, which is the largest cruise ship in the world . This “floating city” can accommodate 6,680 passengers and 2,200 crew members! From pools and waterslides to dance classes, ice skating, and even zip-lining, Royal Caribbean ships are bursting with activities.

If you’re sailing in the Caribbean, you might make a stop at the cruise line’s private island, Coco Cay, located in the Bahamas. This island paradise boasts the largest pool in the Bahamas and the tallest waterslide in North America.

Royal Caribbean also loves rewarding loyal guests. After your first cruise, you’ll automatically be enrolled in the Crown & Anchor Society . You’ll earn points each night you spend at sea and will be rewarded with exclusive member benefits.

Using the right credit card can give you so much value out of every purchase. So when you have a large purchase like a cruise , it’s smart to think twice about how you’re going to pay for it.

While you may be thinking that using the Royal Caribbean card would be the best option (since it’s got the same name as the cruise you’re booking), you’d be wrong . While this card can help you earn some points to use as onboard credit or on cruise discounts, there are better options out there.

With the Royal Caribbean card, you can earn 10,000 bonus points after making a purchase within 90 days. That’s only worth $100 in onboard credit .

Compare that to a card that earns flexible points like the Chase Sapphire Preferred ® Card . Not only does this card earn valuable Chase Ultimate Rewards Points which can be redeemed through the Chase Travel portal or can be transferred to the Chase transfer partners for even more value.

Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card

Chase Sapphire Preferred ® Card

Additionally, it offers flexible point redemption options, no foreign transaction fees, and excellent travel insurance coverage including primary car rental insurance . With benefits like these, it’s easy to see why this card is an excellent choice for any traveler.

Royal Caribbean is a popular cruise line for a reason. It offers huge mega-ships with incredible amenities and sails to fantastic destinations all over the world.

If you’ve cruised on Royal Caribbean in the past, you’re automatically a member of the Crown & Anchor Society. This means you’re eligible for extra perks and bonuses every time you sail with Royal Caribbean.

For each night you spend onboard, you’ll earn cruise points. Those points determine your Crown & Anchor Society status level. With each new level, the benefits get bigger and better.

Whether it’s your first time cruising with Royal Caribbean or your 101st, make sure you know which Crown & Anchor Society benefits you’re entitled to so you can make the most of each day at sea.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of crown & anchor society membership.

Once you’re a member of the Crown & Anchor Society, you’ll receive a variety of benefits based on your level of membership. These benefits can range from cruise discounts and priority boarding to behind the scenes tours and even a free cruise!

How many points do you get for each cruise on Royal Caribbean?

The number of cruise points you’ll earn for each cruise is determined by the length of the cruise and your stateroom level. You’ll earn 1 point per night for each cruise in an interior, oceanview, or balcony stateroom. You’ll earn 2 points per night in a suite. So, a 7-night cruise in an interior room will earn 7 cruise points and a 7-night cruise in a suite will earn 14 points.

How do I find my Crown & Anchor number?

Your Crown & Anchor number is available in your online account — just look in the upper, right-hand corner. If you can’t get into your account or don’t have one, you can submit an online form to request that your number be sent to you.

  • Diamond Plus: 175-699 cruise points

Are Crown & Anchor Society cruise points the same as MyCruise Rewards points?

No, they are 2 different types of points. Crown & Anchor Society members earn cruise points that determine their level of membership. Royal Caribbean cardholders earn MyCruise® Rewards points that they can redeem for onboard credit and cruise discounts.

7 Ways To Use Onboard Credit

How to use cruise credits.

By Adam H. Graham | Published on March 7, 2024

You may have seen deals that include onboard credit and wondered what that entails. Onboard credit — otherwise known as OBC or "cruise cash" — is a promotion that offers cruisers a dollar amount to use toward onboard spending. It is loaded automatically onto your SeaPass® card, the personal onboard expense account you'll use for all your onboard expenditures, and credits are automatically applied to all purchases made on board. Think of it as a gift card from Royal Caribbean.

Though the timing of promotions varies, the credit is issued before you cruise and can be spent on the My Royal Cruise portal even before you board. And here's the really fun part: it can be applied toward a wide array of goods and services, including massages and celebratory bottles of bubbly. But there's a motto for how to treat your cruise credit: Use it or lose it! Credits are nonrefundable and nontransferable, so read on for our list of seven of the best ways to use your onboard cruise credit.

1. Wine, Spirits And Other Beverages

Splurging on a bottle of your favorite bubbly or top-shelf tequila is an excellent way to use your credit. If simply nursing a dark 'n' stormy or a pineapple guava sangria at sunset is more your jam, then treating yourself — and perhaps your significant other or friends — to a round of cocktails at one of the ship's bars is a generous act that won't be forgotten. Daiquiris, caipirinhas and margaritas made with agave syrup are only a few of the creations you can sample.

Drinks Packages  are a smart way to use up cruise credit, too. Guests can opt for unlimited fountain soda and Coca-Cola® products by purchasing a Classic Soda Package. Add on a Refreshment Package and you'll also get mocktails, premium coffees and teas, milkshakes, Evian bottled water and fresh-squeezed juices with the next level. Or upgrade to the Deluxe Beverage Package for unlimited beer, wine, premium cocktails and 40% discounts on select bottles of wine and Champagne.

Pool Couple Enjoying Cocktails

2. Specialty Dining

Dining packages  are a fantastic way to spend cruise credit. You can purchase the Three Restaurants package to dine at three different venues or the Unlimited Dining Package, which allows you to visit multiple specialty restaurants every night of your sailing.

Onboard credit can be used for individual meals, too. Hankering for some seafood while sailing in the Caribbean? Use your credit for yellowtail sashimi sushi, shrimp tempura or the famed champagne lobster rolls at Izumi Japanese Cuisine. If you're a meat lover, consider ordering a bone-in rib-eye steak at Chops Grille℠. If you want to really go gourmet, book a seat at Chef's Table and sample, for example, the smoked tomato soup and scallop carpaccio with yuzu vinaigrette. Those with a sweet tooth have no shortage of places to satisfy their sugar desires. Trade in your credit for some petits fours and violet cassis macarons at La Patisserie or surprise your family with cupcakes, pastry, donuts or cookies from various venues on board.

Enjoying macarons on vacation in Paris. France.

3. Shore Excursions

Booking shore excursions is another great way to spend your onboard credit — not to mention deepen your travel experience. Excursions you can spend your credit on include everything from snorkeling, scuba diving, birdwatching and rainforest ziplining to touring archeological sights and embarking on standard city tours at most ports of call.

If you start to experience crowd fatigue mid-cruise, consider using your onboard credit to book Private Journeys  — a customized tour just for you and your crew — so that you can get more personalized experiences onshore. Sample Private Journeys include a Basque cooking class with a chef in Bilbao, Spain; an Alaskan glacier tour by Hummer; a seaplane excursion to a private Puerto Rican island with a catamaran ride; or a simple yet romantic boat tour of Capri, Italy's Blue Grotto.

St Kitts Scuba Diving

5. Spa Treatments

Vitality Spa Couple Massage Relaxing

6. Shopping

Kate Spade Jewelry

7. Casino Games

Casino Royale Roulette

If you're a big spender keen to roll the dice and poker-face your way through a hand of Texas Hold 'em, spend your cruise credit at the Casino Royale℠, found on every ship. Your credit can be used for everything from slot machines and craps tables to roulette, baccarat and blackjack tournaments. There are also nightly cash prizes and special one-off events that the resident pit boss can tell you about. It's possible to turn that credit into cash, allowing you to spend even more when hitting the shore.

Royal Caribbean food: The ultimate cruise guide to restaurants and dining on board

C ruise food and cruise fun go hand-in-hand. Gone are the days when your only food choices were a main dining room and a buffet venue. Royal Caribbean ships are loaded with options — some that are included in your cruise fare and some that cost extra. From the largest ship in the fleet to the smallest, the choices are mind-blowing — especially for new-to-Royal cruisers.

But even if you've sailed with Royal Caribbean in the past, you need a food guide to keep up with what's available on which ship. Sometimes, you want to repeat a dining experience you had on a previous cruise. Other times, you'd prefer to try a new eatery. Knowing which food choices a ship has might impact which ship you pick.

For cruise news, reviews and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

Good examples are the Italian restaurants across the fleet. Do you know the difference between Giovanni's Table and Giovanni's Kitchen? How do the Jamie's Italian restaurants stack up to either of the Giovanni's? And do you know which ship is the only one in the fleet without an Italian restaurant? (Answer: Enchantment of the Seas.) I don't know about you, but I've gotta get my pasta fix when I cruise.

Then there are Royal Caribbean's food secrets. Okay, maybe they aren't actual secrets, but there are things to eat on board that aren't highly publicized. You need to be in the know to seek them out.

Let's start with a list of all the places you can snag a bite, and which ships they are found on. After that, I'll run through some of the most frequently asked questions about Royal Caribbean food.

150 Central Park

Fixed price; dinner

150 Central Park serves six-course dinners featuring meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes accompanied by produce that is "locally sourced" and harvested at peak flavor. Menu examples include beef tenderloin, halibut, venison and cauliflower steak. The location in the Central Park neighborhood , surrounded by live plants, adds an ambience not found on most cruise ships.

Available on: Allure , Harmony, Oasis, Symphony, Utopia, Wonder of the Seas

Aquadome Market

Included; all-day dining

Icon of the Seas introduces a five-station food hall serving five types of mac and cheese, Asian and Mediterranean bowls, salads and sandwiches and custom crepes. It's located adjacent to the AquaDome, and its long hours means you can grab a bite before or after an acrobatic AquaTheater show.

Available on: Icon of the Seas

Included and a la carte options; all-day dining

Basecamp is a fast-casual snackery within the Thrill Island neighborhood. Things like hot dogs and warm pretzels are complimentary, while comfort food options like burgers, cheese curds and chicken waffle bites cost extra. Covered outdoor seating is available.

Boardwalk Donuts

Included; snacks

Freshly topped and decorated doughnuts line the glass cases at this one-of-a-kind restaurant. It makes a fun spot to snag an early morning pre-breakfast bite.

Available on: Allure of the Seas

Cafe @Two70

Just outside the entrance to the Two70 entertainment space, this eatery often goes unnoticed by many cruisers. It's an ideal spot to grab a sandwich or a bowl of the day's soup. Breakfast goodies include pastries and even burritos — perfect before you dash out on your day's adventures.

Available on: Anthem, Odyssey , Ovation, Quantum, Spectrum of the Seas

Related: The ultimate guide to Royal Caribbean cruise ships and itineraries

Cafe Latte-tudes

Included and a la carte; snacks

This is the in-house specialty coffee hot spot on the line's smaller ships. Coffee drinks cost extra but are included in beverage packages; cookies, bite-sized pastries and even sandwiches are complimentary. Some ships also have a nearby ice cream parlor with scoops and cones available for purchase.

Available on: Brilliance, Enchantment, Grandeur , Jewel, Radiance, Rhapsody, Serenade, Vision of the Seas

Cafe Promenade

Similar to Cafe Latte-tudes, Cafe Promenade is exactly what it sounds like — a coffee counter with grab-and-go snacks. Specialty coffees and teas cost extra, and most snacks are complimentary, though a few fancier options are extra-fee. Some ships also have a drink station nearby serving the usual array of complimentary hot and cold beverages like tea, lemonade and drip coffee.

Available on: Adventure, Allure, Anthem, Explorer, Freedom, Harmony, Independence , Liberty, Mariner, Navigator, Oasis, Odyssey, Ovation, Quantum, Symphony, Utopia, Voyager, Wonder of the Seas

Celebration Table

Want to host your own dinner party onboard? Reserve this private dining room for 12 and enjoy a catered meal featuring a fixed-price menu of American, Italian, Asian or seafood dishes. It's located inside Hooked Seafood in the AquaDome neighborhood.

Chef's Table

Most ships in the fleet offer a Chef's Table experience on select nights of select sailings. Reservations are required for a private gourmet dinner with wine pairing hosted by a chef and sommelier for a small group. It is a night and a meal you will remember.

Available on: Adventure, Allure, Anthem, Brilliance, Enchantment, Explorer, Freedom, Grandeur, Harmony, Independence, Jewel, Liberty, Mariner, Navigator, Oasis, Odyssey, Ovation, Quantum, Radiance, Rhapsody, Serenade, Spectrum, Utopia, Vision, Voyager, Wonder of the Seas

Chops Grille

Fixed price; dinner plus lunch on sea days

Royal Caribbean's specialty steakhouse is available fleetwide. The Chops Grille menu leans heavily toward prime beef cuts, but also includes chicken, lamb and seafood. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and the food delicious. Sides are served family style, and you'll want to try several.

Available on: Adventure, Allure, Anthem, Brilliance, Enchantment, Explorer, Freedom, Grandeur, Harmony, Icon, Independence, Jewel, Liberty, Mariner, Navigator, Oasis, Odyssey, Ovation, Quantum, Radiance, Rhapsody, Serenade, Spectrum, Symphony, Utopia, Vision, Voyager, Wonder of the Seas

Coastal Kitchen

Included; breakfast, lunch and dinner

Coastal Kitchen is a restaurant exclusive to suite guests and upper-tier members of Royal Caribbean's Crown and Anchor loyalty program . Though it's styled like a main dining room, serving three meals a day with menus that change daily, the experience is on par with specialty dining, both in service and food quality. It's an ideal alternative to the main dining room for those who are eligible to dine here.

Star and Sky Class suite guests can dine in Coastal Kitchen for breakfast, lunch and dinner; Sea Class suite guests can come for dinner if space is available. Pinnacle-level loyalty members can also eat here at any mealtime, space permitting.

Available on: Allure, Anthem, Harmony, Icon, Oasis, Odyssey, Ovation, Quantum, Symphony, Utopia, Wonder of the Seas

Cupcake Cupboard

A la carte; hours vary

The name of this sweet treat eatery tells you almost everything you need to know. Stop by for extra-fee cupcakes when you're craving sugar. Alternatively, look for decorating classes to join and cupcake kits to purchase, so you have everything you need to return home and bake your own goodies.

Available on: Freedom and Liberty of the Seas

Desserted Milkshake Bar

A la carte; snacks

Here's an idea that's long overdue on a cruise ship – custom milkshakes overflowing with sweet treats like brownies, cookies and popcorn. Adults can upgrade to boozy versions.

Dining Room

Included; breakfast, lunch (sea days) and dinner

The main dining rooms can get a little confusing on a fleet as varied as Royal Caribbean's. Most ships have one large, multideck dining space that serves complimentary meals, but the venue's name varies by ship. Quantum Class ships have four separate dining rooms, each with a different name.

On all ships, one deck or area is reserved for guests with assigned early and late dining times, with the remaining area set aside for those participating in the flexible My Time Dining plan. All guests order from the same menus, which are standard for breakfast daily and change each day for lunch (when it's open) and dinner.

Available on: All ships

Related: Royal Caribbean cruise ship classes, explained

Included; hours may vary

If gourmet hot dogs topped the way you want them is your idea of the perfect lunch or snack, pop in at the Dog House. There are too many choices to try them all on a single cruise.

Available on: Allure, Anthem, Harmony, Mariner, Oasis, Ovation, Quantum, Radiance, Spectrum, Symphony, Utopia, Wonder of the Seas

El Loco Fresh

From breakfast burritos to heaps of nachos and cheesy quesadillas, this Mexican-themed eatery is a quick and filling spot to grab a bite during the day. Pool wear is allowed since this is basically an outdoor restaurant. On four ships, it's located near the pool. The five Oasis Class ships with an El Loco Fresh have it closer to the sports court than the pool, but on all ships, eating here can save you from having to get dressed to go inside for food at the Windjammer.

Available on: Allure (Wipe Out Cafe), Freedom, Icon, Navigator, Oasis, Odyssey, Symphony, Utopia, Wonder of the Seas

Empire Supper Club

When Royal Caribbean says "dinner and a show," the line really means it. This intimate, multicourse dinner features live jazz performances and drink pairings. The experience is one of a kind, but the cover charge for dinner is one of the highest at sea.

English Pub

When I mentioned "secret food," the English pubs were what I had in mind. The pubs on each ship have different names, but the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. Not every pub serves snacks, but definitely ask if you don't see a food menu. What you find to munch on might turn out to be one of the highlights of your cruise. Smoked cheddar ale soup and deep-fried apple pie with Nutella are top of mind for me.

Available on: Adventure, Allure, Anthem, Brilliance, Explorer, Freedom, Harmony, Icon, Independence, Liberty, Mariner, Navigator, Oasis, Odyssey, Ovation, Quantum, Radiance, Serenade, Star, Symphony, Utopia, Voyager, Wonder of the Seas

Fish & Ships

Included and a la carte; lunch

Grab a basket of deep-fried deliciousness (fish, shrimp and chicken) near the pool for a quick lunch or a snack between afternoon activities. Only the lobster tails cost extra.

Available on: Independence and Ovation of the Seas

Giovanni's Italian Kitchen

Fixed price; lunch (select days) and dinner

From a prime cut filet mignon to pizza, Royal Caribbean's second generation of its classic Italian food restaurant serves up an excellent meal. The service is always gracious and the portions generous.

Available on: Freedom, Icon, Odyssey, Utopia, Wonder of the Seas

Giovanni's Table

Royal Caribbean's original Italian restaurants feature a traditional mix of pastas and meat or seafood entrees. The differences between the two Giovanni's are subtle. Lasagna and pizza are available at the Kitchen, but not at the Table. The best eggplant parm I've ever had is only available at Giovanni's Table, as is a gigantic platter of osso buco.

Available on: Adventure, Allure, Brilliance, Explorer, Grandeur, Independence, Jewel, Liberty, Oasis, Radiance, Rhapsody, Serenade, Vision, Voyager of the Seas

Related: 35 Royal Caribbean cruise tips and tricks that will make your voyage better

Hooked Seafood

From chowder to mussels to whole Maine lobster, Hooked is where you get your seafood fix on select ships. Personally, I'd go for the lobster mac and cheese, but you do you.

Available on: Icon, Navigator, Symphony, Utopia, Wonder of the Seas

Royal Railway — Utopia Station

We'll know more once Utopia of the Seas launches, but this new restaurant sounds more like a Disney ride, taking you on a culinary journey as if you were inside a luxury railcar — while you're sailing at sea. Windows will display scenes from various destinations, and the menu items will be inspired by those regions of the world.

Available on: Utopia of the Seas

A la carte; lunch and dinner

Across the fleet, Izumi manages to take on several different looks. On Quantum Class ships, it's got a sidewalk sushi bar feel. On other ships, it's a quiet enclave tucked away on the top deck. Wherever you find it, it's the place to be for sushi and Japanese-American fusion eats.

Available on: Adventure, Anthem, Brilliance, Explorer, Grandeur, Jewel, Navigator, Odyssey, Ovation, Quantum, Radiance, Rhapsody, Serenade, Spectrum, Vision, Voyager

Izumi Hibachi & Sushi

A la carte and fixed price; lunch and dinner

On select ships, Izumi also includes a fixed-price teppanyaki option with your choice of beef, chicken, shrimp or a combination of proteins as your entree. Sit around the cooking surface and watch the show from your entertaining chef. Alternatively, you can order sushi along with a selection of hot Japanese dishes a la carte.

Available on: Allure, Freedom, Harmony, Icon, Independence, Mariner, Oasis, Symphony, Utopia, Wonder of the Seas

Izumi in the Park

A la carte; all-day dining

Icon and Utopia of the Seas have more takeaway food options than any other Royal Caribbean ships, including a to-go window passing out sushi at a la carte prices. You'll find the venue in Central Park, next to the main Izumi restaurant.

Available on: Icon and Utopia of the Seas

Jamie's Italian by Jamie Oliver

Royal Caribbean's third Italian option features a Tuscan-inspired, celebrity-chef-curated menu that is a bit more modern than either version of the Giovanni's restaurants found on other ships. You can still find a luscious lasagna, but the menu holds surprises like crispy squid and pan-roasted salmon.

Available on: Anthem, Harmony, Mariner, Navigator, Ovation, Quantum, Spectrum, Symphony of the Seas

Johnny Rockets

Fixed price; all-day dining

Johnny Rockets is the original specialty restaurant on Royal Caribbean ships. Its juicy burgers, fries and shakes have become a beloved part of Royal Caribbean food culture. It's a well-kept secret that the apple pie is hands down the best on board any ship afloat. You'll pay a flat fee per person to dine there, but beverages, such as the venue's famous shakes, cost extra (unless they're included in your drinks package).

On Oasis Class ships, you can enjoy a complimentary breakfast of eggs, omelets, breakfast sandwiches and pancakes at Johnny Rockets.

Available on: Adventure, Allure, Anthem, Explorer, Freedom, Harmony, Independence, Liberty, Mariner, Navigator (Express), Oasis, Symphony, Utopia, Wonder of the Seas

La Patisserie

Looking to put a French twist on your vacation, regardless of your cruise destination? Here's your chance to indulge in French pastries (for purchase) paired with luscious coffees or tea. Think macarons and artisan chocolates that are a step above the complimentary snacks at Cafe Promenade. Order cake or cheesecake by the slice or pick up a whole cake to share with the gang. The best secret here is that you can order your coffee or hot cocoa with a shot of chocolate liqueur.

Available on: Anthem, Ovation, Quantum, Spectrum of the Seas

If you're looking for a poolside snack, you'll find right-sized bites in the form of sliders, pizza, taquitos and sweet treats at Mini Bites.

Available on: Harmony of the Seas

Included; Breakfast and lunch

The Park Cafe is home to the Royal Kummelweck Roast Beef Sandwich, which has garnered serious social media buzz. I hear about people who rush to Park Cafe on embarkation day to start indulging in their Kummelweck binging. Look for other deli treats, paninis and hot pizza in most Park Cafe locations along with fresh fruit, salads and desserts. At breakfast, you'll find grab-and-go options and a bagel bar.

The Park Cafe is found in Central Park on Oasis and Icon Class ships and near the solarium on smaller ships. On those vessels, the venue's location allows you to spend long luxurious hours poolside with plenty of snacks nearby.

Available on: Allure, Brilliance, Enchantment, Grandeur, Harmony, Icon, Oasis, Radiance, Rhapsody, Serenade, Symphony, Vision, Wonder of the Seas

Icon of the Seas' new take on the Royal Promenade coffee-and-snack shop is a winner. Comfy seating with stunning ocean views makes it an ideal spot to hang with friends as you munch your way through a sandwich or tartlet. Specialty coffee and teas are available for a charge. The Pearl Cafe is open around the clock, so you can grab a snack at any hour.

A la carte; breakfast, lunch and dinner

The concept here starts with California beach food like fish tacos or shrimp tostadas, then adds the coolest three words to ever be combined in the English language: "All Day Brunch." When you wake up at noon craving breakfast food, head to the Surfside neighborhood for favorites such as pancake platters and smoked salmon eggs Benedict. As befitting a family-friendly specialty restaurant, kids under 12 dine free.

Playmakers Sports Bar

A la carte; lunch, dinner and late night

It's crazy that the Playmakers menu is still somewhat of an unknown for many Royal Caribbean cruisers. Perhaps those who know work hard not to spread the word. Expect gourmet burgers, wings and, yes, truffle fries. Or pop in after a night of clubbing for a sweet treat like a sundae or the infamous Campfire Cookie topped with melted marshmallows and Nutella.

Available on: Freedom, Icon, Independence, Mariner, Navigator, Oasis, Odyssey, Symphony, Utopia, Wonder of the Seas

Portside BBQ

Whether you go for a platter of ribs or a sandwich dripping with sauce, expect an abundance of flavors from the Deep South. And don't skimp on dessert – you really can't eat barbecue without finishing it with nanna pudding, y'all.

Available on: Oasis of the Seas

Fixed price; lunch and dinner

Billed as "modern Mexican" cuisine, Sabor offers up guacamole, empanadas and a variety of tacos, quesadillas and sides. Save room for flan or churros for dessert.

Available on: Allure, Harmony, Liberty of the Seas

Samba Grill

Samba Grill is similar to the Brazilian steakhouses you've visited on land. You choose starters from an appetizer station, followed by your choice of meats (including chicken) carved tableside. The chocolate layer cake makes a delightful finish to your meal — if you still have room left after all that meat.

Available on: Allure and Radiance of the Seas

Solarium Bistro

Included, with a la carte extras; breakfast, lunch and dinner

Tucked away inside the Solarium, the Bistro is a multipurpose food space. Complimentary breakfast and lunch minibuffets are served here, making the venue a quieter option for those meals. No reservations are required.

Dinner, on the other hand, though still complimentary, is by reservation only and is a combination of buffet and table-served dishes, with a menu focused on healthy Mediterranean options. As in the main dining room, a handful of optional charged items are on the menu (upgraded steaks and lobster). Children are allowed to eat in the Bistro, even though the Solarium has a minimum age of 16.

Do not be surprised to discover that the space is not always available during your cruise. Apparently, its location means it has its own kitchen, making it ideal for private functions where food sourcing is important. I've heard of its being used exclusively on some cruises by gluten-free and kosher groups.

Available on: Allure, Anthem, Harmony, Oasis, Odyssey, Ovation, Quantum, Symphony, Utopia, Wonder of the Seas

Sorrento's Pizza

Whether you're looking to grab a slice or a pie, Sorrento's Pizza is your pizza go-to spot on more than half the fleet. You can order a custom pie or choose from what's on hand. Seating specific to Sorrento's is fairly limited on some ships, but shared dining space is usually somewhere nearby. It's not open 24/7 but doesn't shut down until well after midnight.

Available on: Allure, Anthem, Freedom, Harmony, Icon, Independence, Liberty, Oasis, Odyssey, Ovation, Quantum, Spectrum, Symphony, Utopia, Wonder of the Seas

If you're screaming for ice cream, Sprinkles is Royal Caribbean's go-to for soft-serve ice cream in multiple flavors.

Available: Fleetwide

Freestanding Starbucks locations serve the same drinks and snacks you can find in land-based outlets. You can use your Starbucks gift cards (if you bring them onboard) and your Starbucks app to order and pay at these locations. You'll earn Starbucks stars for purchases but cannot redeem them.

Other Royal Caribbean cafes might serve Starbucks-branded beverages, but they are operated by Royal Caribbean. In those locations, you can only pay for drinks with your Sea Pass card (including via either the Refreshment or Deluxe Beverage Package) or a coffee card purchased onboard.

Stand-alone Starbucks locations available on: Allure, Harmony, Icon, Mariner, Navigator, Oasis, Odyssey, Symphony, Utopia of the Seas

Sugar Beach

You can purchase colorful candies, fudge and cupcakes at Sugar Beach.

Available on: Allure (Candy Beach), Icon, Independence, Oasis, Symphony, Utopia, Wonder of the Seas

Surfside Bites

Surfside Bites is the place to grab kid-favorite finger food on the fly. Think popcorn chicken, hot dogs and churros.

Surfside Eatery

Surfside is Royal Caribbean's new family-friendly, stay-all-day onboard destination with multiple pools and attractions. Surfside Eatery provides a place for families to sit down to a meal without leaving the neighborhood. The buffet serves three meals daily with dishes for both kid and grownup palates.

Though both Odyssey and Spectrum have an Izumi Sushi location, Teppanyaki is a separate Japanese steakhouse located on Deck 14 on these two ships. Choose from either a single protein or a combo for the fixed-price meal, similar to Izumi Hibachi. Appetizers are priced a la carte.

Available on: Odyssey and Spectrum of the Seas

The Bamboo Room

The Bamboo Room is another onboard bar with somewhat secretive bar snacks — including Hawaiian barbecue sliders and coconut crab bruschetta. Don't miss this treat if you're sailing on Mariner of the Seas, the only ship in the fleet with this venue.

Available on: Mariner of the Seas

Included; all day dining

The Grove is the exclusive sun deck snack bar for Sky- and Star-tier suite guests on Icon of the Seas. The venue serves upscale Mediterranean mezes (small dishes) in an outdoor setting.

The Mason Jar

Fixed price; brunch and dinner

If you're looking for an out-of-the-ordinary brunch or dinner on board the newest Oasis Class ships, the Mason Jar is your spot. The atmosphere is relaxing, the menu is deeply Southern and the iced tea (sipped from Mason jars, of course) is sweet. Expect shrimp and grits, barbecue and fried chicken.

Available on: Wonder and Utopia of the Seas

The Spare Tire

Royal Caribbean brings a food truck-themed eatery poolside for handheld favorites like burgers and fries.

Trellis Bar

Say yes to upscale bar bites Icon of the Seas' version of this Central Park watering hole. Snack on mac & cheese poppers or truffled french fries while you sip your wine or commit to a meal with a drink with options like steak bites, Chops dry-aged burger and a chicken Caesar salad.

Vintages is home to another secret bar snack menu you might not know about. Expect bruschetta, olives, meat platters, seafood bites and other tapas, served from 5 p.m. until they're gone.

Available on: Allure, Anthem, Freedom, Harmony, Independence, Liberty, Oasis, Ovation, Quantum, Symphony of the Seas

Vitality Cafe

Included; breakfast and lunch

Located next to the spa and workout facilities on select ships, Vitality Cafe is what you would expect to find in such a health-oriented spot. Custom-blended fruit and veggie smoothies and protein shakes cost extra but are included in the Deluxe and Refreshment beverage packages. On some ships, the cafe also serves fruit cups and granola bites to get you through your workout.

Available on: Allure, Harmony, Icon, Oasis, Symphony, Utopia, Wonder of the Seas

Windjammer Marketplace

Expect an extensive multistation buffet with ample choices for everyone. In addition to the food, complimentary beverages include drip coffee, various hot teas, hot cocoa, milk, lemonade, punch and iced tea. Soft drink machines are available for those who have bought beverage packages. Larger ships have a bar within the Windjammer and servers rotate regularly.

The menu is described as "imaginative" as befits a restaurant inspired by "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." Expect a multicourse dinner experience featuring food that is deconstructed, reconstructed and otherwise created to generate an entertaining gourmet meal.

Available on: Anthem, Harmony, Odyssey, Ovation, Quantum, Spectrum, Symphony, Wonder of the Seas

Royal Caribbean food: Frequently asked questions

How does the main dining room work?

At booking, you are offered a choice between traditional times designated as early or late, or flexible dining called My Time Dining , allowing you to show up anytime during restaurant open hours.

Do I need reservations for dinner in a specialty restaurant?

Waiter-served, extra-fee restaurants — whether fixed price or a la carte — typically require reservations. On the rare occasion when a ship is sailing at lower than full occupancy, you might find you can walk up during nonpeak hours and be seated at a specialty restaurant without a reservation. Those opportunities are the exceptions. Better to make a reservation to ensure you get the time slot you prefer.

What do "a la carte" and "fixed price" mean on Royal Caribbean ships?

A la carte pricing refers to restaurants where the food is individually priced. You only pay for the dishes you order. An entire menu might be individually priced, or you might only see a few items with prices on an otherwise complimentary menu.

Fixed price indicates that dining at the restaurant has a single cover charge for the full meal. This may also be stated as "Prix Fixe." You will generally choose an appetizer or salad, an entree, sides and a dessert. Beverages other than tea, coffee and water are an added charge unless specifically stated that they are included.

What beverages are included with my cruise fare?

Drip coffee, tap water, hot and iced tea, milk, and one or more flavored drinks like fruit punch or lemonade dispensed from drink machines. All other beverages may be purchased individually or you can buy a beverage package to pay for unlimited drinks in advance (fine print applies). Read our complete guide to Royal Caribbean drink packages for details.

Is there room service and what does it cost?

Room service is available in all cabins. Continental breakfast, including coffee, pastries, fruit and cold cereal, is free. Hot breakfast, lunch, dinner and all snacks incur a delivery charge of $7.95 plus 18% gratuity. The food itself is mostly complimentary, but selected dishes are priced a la carte.

How do specialty dining packages work?

To reduce the cost of specialty dining, you can buy a three- or five-restaurant package or an unlimited dining package. Some sailings also offer a combo option of Chops plus one other restaurant. These are all available for purchase in the cruise planner before your sailing. The unlimited package allows you to dine at any specialty restaurant each night of your cruise, plus lunches where they are available.

Can children eat in the specialty restaurants on board?

Most Royal Caribbean specialty restaurants cater to children with special menus and reduced prices. There are a few examples where children are allowed, but not catered to. Empire Supper Club is an example of that. The line states that children under 12 are allowed, but the experience is designed "for adult guests."

Does Royal Caribbean charge extra for lobster?

Lobster tails may be ordered any night of the cruise at Chops Grill or for an extra charge in the main dining room. Only one lobster tail is included when complimentary lobster is served in the dining room as part of the menu. Additional lobsters are charged to your bill.

This epic new luxury cruise costs up to $550,000 per cabin — and might be worth it

Gene Sloan

Uber-luxury line Crystal is out with a new world cruise itinerary that might be its most epic ever. It comes with an epic price tag, too.

The recently relaunched brand on Tuesday began taking reservations for a 135-night voyage from Los Angeles to Civitavecchia, Italy (the port for Rome), that will bring the wealthy set to a stunning 72 destinations in 27 countries across five continents.

Kicking off Jan. 11, 2026, and taking place on Crystal's 740-passenger Crystal Serenity, the sailing starts at a sky-high $168,000 per cabin for two people.

For more cruise news, guides and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

Top suites on the ship will cost up to $550,000 for two passengers.

For that lofty price, well-heeled travelers can experience a once-in-a-lifetime trip that includes visits to many of the world's most famous destinations, from Bora Bora in French Polynesia to the pyramids of Egypt — all while living in the lap of luxury.

Crystal Serenity, which TPG has called the queen of luxury cruising , underwent a massive overhaul in 2023 that gave it more space per passenger than any other luxury ship afloat. The overhaul included a significant enlargement of many of its accommodations and a reduction in the number of passengers that will sail on any given voyage.

royal caribbean cruise points levels

Additionally, Crystal's crew-to-passenger ratio — a top measure of luxury on any ship — was increased to roughly 1:1, an astounding level.

The net result makes Crystal Serenity one of the most luxurious cruise vessels afloat.

A longer world cruise

Crystal typically offers one world cruise a year, and it's always lengthy and destination-packed. But the newly announced 2026 world sailing is longer than those the line has offered in recent years, coming in at 135 days long.

In comparison, the single world cruise Crystal offers this year is 125 nights long, while a world cruise planned for 2025 will be 123 nights long.

The new sailing for 2026 is also pricier than Crystal world cruises in the past. Starting rates are $35,000 more per couple than the starting rates for Crystal's 2025 world cruise. That sailing starts at $133,000 per cabin for two.

Crystal Serenity's most luxurious accommodation, the Penthouse Suite, costs $71,600 more on the 2026 world cruise than it costs on the 2025 world cruise.

An epic itinerary to five continents

The 135-night world cruise for 2026 will begin with a westward crossing of the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii and French Polynesia on the way to New Zealand and Australia.

From there, the vessel will head to various countries across Asia, including Indonesia and India, before sailing through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean.

royal caribbean cruise points levels

In the Mediterranean, the ship will visit multiple ports in Greece, Italy and France before the trip ends in Civitavecchia May 26, 2026.

Unlike some previous Crystal world cruises, the trip doesn't offer a full circumnavigation of the world. That allows the ship to spend more time in the regions it does visit, with a particularly large number of stops in the South Pacific, Australia and Asia.

The new world cruise will be just the third at Crystal in the past eight years, as the line stopped sailing world cruises during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to on-ship accommodations, meals and drinks, passengers who book the world voyage will be entitled to such extra perks as:

  • A $1,500 per person shipboard credit
  • An allowance of up to $5,000 per person for business-class flights to and from the ship or a $4,000 credit toward the cruise cost for those booking their own flights
  • Private transfers to and from the ship
  • Unlimited dining at the ship's upscale Osteria d'Ovidio and Umi Uma restaurants (reservations required)
  • Invitations to themed onboard events
  • Luggage valet service

More information is available as of Tuesday on Crystal's website .
