My family and I took a helicopter tour of Zip Aviation and it was a truly magical experience. The people who work there and the customer service is truly top notch. We arrived an hour before the flight and the location of the heliport is so cool and the entire experience is so fun to be in this area of manhattan is amazing! I went with 3 of my family members and we really had a special time. We got to spend a lot of quality time together just hangin in NYC going on this awesome adventure. Then the actual tour starts, they escort you to the helicopter and then put you in the seat and you take off. Whoa I wasn't prepared for what happened next! It's sooooo beautiful, seeing the skyline like this is pretty amazing. The statue of liberty and everything. Seeing NYC like this is some kind of dream! They even take your photo! Would definitely recommend!

WORST COMPANY EVER!!! Booked a tour 6 weeks in advance. This was a Christmas gift for our daughter who we flew in from Denver and we drove up there from Maryland. They called the day of and told us they were cancelling our tour!!!! Seriously 8 hours before our flight....apparently they overbooked their flights and we got cancelled. At that point, 3 days before Christmas, there was NOTHING else available with any other companies so we were just out. My husband was so upset as this was his gift to his daughter. We were not offered any compensation or a courtesy or even a "we're so sorry". Horrible company and beware you could get cancelled. Incredibly disappointing!

Photo of John C.

Wish I had checked Yelp before trip advisor. Can only confirm the lousy reviews. Trip was shorter than advertised and rude service stuck us in the crap seats. Only two out of 6 seats are worth the money- two on the right of the helicopter that face the island on the way up, other wise u get New Jersey for the majority of the time, or nothing stuck in the middle seat- lame! Telling us to book a private tour instead is not helpful! Zip courtesy, zip fun, zip satisfaction, zip value for money. Extra star for not crashing.

Photo of Lori P.

The tour itself was good - the views amazing. What sucked was - they don't take 30 seconds before taking off on each flight to confirm the headsets (which gives you the tour of everything) work for everyone. My sisters didn't work at all and mine, it was barely a whisper, so basically I heard every few words. My nieces worked great. So when we said something - the only response was that they would look into it. We paid a lot of money for these tickets - seems like something as basic as the headsets should work and that they could take the time to make sure they do. And yes - we made sure the volume was up on them. Disappointing that they offered nothing back.

Spent a lot of money as a birthday gift and they didn't allow you to take your own pics! Had to purchase from them (eyes closed and all)

Photo of Barry W.

$160 for 15min ride, or so, c'mon?! Choppers don't even get close to any bldgs. I think since 9/11, and the peak in gas prices, the beauty of a leisurely cruise around Manhattan has been lost. Do the $30 speed boat ride down to the Statue of Liberty and back instead of this. Speed boat is scenic and a much better deal!

Photo of Emily C.

Enjoyed everything about this experience Well worth every penny Great customer service Made reservation one day in advance- to be safe I'd make them a couple days prior. Now you will have to wait about an hour prior to boarding and groups of 6 are taken at a time but it wasn't a big deal. Easy process, pay, wait, get weighed, put life jacket on, short instruction lesson, place your bags and belongings in locked locker, receive key, escorted to tarmac, take pic, get in, fly and see! We purchased the video package as well as which was worth it as well! Lightest person in group gets to be co pilot for weight distribution

zip tours nyc

Had a great time here a year ago. 30 minute wait time, but ushered onto tarmac when helicopter was ready. Because we went at 5pm, we got some pretty shots of the lights. Because they have to balance the heli by weight, my husband was seated in back, while I was in front with the pilot. Pilot was funny and informative. Front view is much better than back seat view, since you have a floor view as well and window is big. Husband said rear view was restrictive. A zip employee kindly took a picture of us near the heli. We felt a little bit rushed when exiting because we were the last ride of the day and they were bringing the helicopter somewhere. Paid an extra $50-60 airport fee which I wasn't anticipating, and that's on top of about $300 the groupon cost us. I was really happy it came with two free photographs! The girl who printed the photo went through the photos they took to choose the best one. Another non-groupon couple who flew with us paid almost $500, and asked for a photo when they saw us getting it. The employee told them it'd cost extra, and they declined. Tip: they'll take pictures of you with your phone/camera, so you can bypass the $20-30 photo fee.

Photo of Felicitas N.

I'm so disappointed. I'm from San Diego and they place me me in the middle of the backseat in the helicopter. I could not see anything. My pictures include people's body parts. They should not offer that seat as an option.

zip tours nyc

Excellent experience!! Although it seems a bit shorter than expected the people working there was very polite, we didn't have to wait for to long, the helicopter was clean , and overall every penny was worthy. Don't pay for the video , it is a waste of money, plus that they will post it on youtube!

Amazing views! I was lucky to get the front seat!

The Adventure Park at Long Island, Wheatley Heights

The Adventure Park at Long Island, Wheatley Heights

At the Adventure Park, you choose your own adventure from 14 separate “trails” through the trees, all of which fall within six levels of difficulty. As you navigate across the series of platforms connected by ziplines, cables, and ropes, you’ll complete a unique challenge for each trip, like climbing a rope net or walking a balance beam—tackle 203 challenges in total! On select dates, there’s an option to explore the park at twilight or nighttime, when the park illuminates the obstacles with strings of little glowing lights. Just note that these events can sell out quickly so plan ahead! Picnic tables and fire pits are available, so feel free to pack lunch and s’mores ingredients for the perfect reward after your workout. Each general admission ticket includes 3 hours of climbing + 30 minutes initial orientation period. (Max weight limit 265 lbs.) Advanced general admission ages 14 and up, $69; ages 7-13, $59; ages 3-6, $15. See website for all height and weight requirements. Park operation will resume for the season in spring 2024.

Sky High Aerial Adventure Park , Ellicottville

Credit: craig melvin.

Head out to the Holiday Valley Ski Resort in Ellicottville before ski season and enjoy their Sky High Aerial Adventure Park! Nestled in five acres of forest, you’ll find a series of platforms connected by “bridges.” We’re using quotes here because a bridge might consist of just a few hanging chunks of wood, and it’s up to you to make your way across! There are 13 courses in total, with four levels of difficulty, from the yellow beginner options all the way to two black diamond trails and one double black. Each course has at least one zipline, though some feature several. If you want a great wrap-up activity, don’t miss the chance to ride their mountain coaster—a roller coaster ride down the mountain. No skill or balance is involved—simply strap in and enjoy the ride! Aerial Park 3 hours $62, Aerial Park 3 hours +1 Mountain Coaster Ride, $70, Aerial Park 3 hours + Unlimited Mountain Coaster $80, Late Afternoon Climb, 3:30-6:00 pm $50. See website for height and weight requirements.

Mountain Ridge Adventure,  Schenectady

Mountain Ridge Adventure

If your whole gang isn’t up for a ropes course challenge, consider the Mountain Ridge Adventure, where the aerial adventure section is separate from the ziplines. Here, some of the more adventurous members in your party can test their limits by climbing and swinging their way through the Treetop Challenge Course, while others can just enjoy a ride on the zipline. The Treetop pass will grant you three hours to take on as much as you can, and includes access to the ziplines. If you purchase just the zipline pass, you have two hours to enjoy soaring above the 500-foot-long gorge. Treetop Pass $59, Starter Pass $44, Zipline Park Pass $54. See website for height and weight requirements.

Palisades Climb Adventure Ropes Course , West Nyack

Don’t let a little bad weather rain on your ropes course parade! The Palisades Climb Adventure in West Nyack is the world’s tallest indoor ropes course, letting you hang out 85 feet up in the air. 75 unique challenges of ranging difficulty levels offer something for every level of physical fitness. Obstacles include tension bridges, rope ladders, nets, bridges, and more. They even have a designated “Sky Tykes” area for the littlest climbers. Test out your balance, strength, and agility, rain or shine. The Sky Trail Adventure, children (ages 4–12) and seniors (ages 55+) and adults $27.99, Sky Tykes (toddlers under 48 inches) $11.99.

Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course , Bolton Landing

Credit: visitlakegeorge.com.

One of the earliest and largest aerial adventure parks established, the Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course really does earn the descriptor “extreme.” Choose from four, five, and six-course packages, each of which offers a mix of difficulty levels. If you’ve really got an appetite for a challenge try their six-course package which features 13 ziplines and more than 130 obstacles, including Tarzan swings, rope nets, monkey bars, and a “Leap Of Faith.” The whole shebang can take around four and a half hours to complete and will leave you absolutely pooped—but super gratified. They are child-friendly as well and offer a kids’ ropes course for ages 6 and up with a path below for Mom or Dad to follow along. New to zipline? Try the "Low Rider" zipline tour. An introductory zipline course designed for the novice . Prices vary by type of activity. See website for height and weight requirements. Open April through November.

WonderWorks at Destiny USA , Syracuse

Destiny USA WonderWorks Rope Course - Photo Courtesy of Destiny USA

Inside Destiny USA , New York’s biggest shopping center and the country’s eighth-largest, awaits the world’s largest indoor suspended ropes courses, WonderWorks’ “Canyon Climb Adventure.” The course reaches three stories in height and includes 81 obstacles to work your way through! There’s a mini ropes course section where smaller kids (under 48") can test their moves. Plus, there is so much to do at Destiny USA that if you’re traveling with some folks who can’t stand the heights, they will have no problem finding other fun activities, such as laser tag, interactive science museums, plenty of shopping, and many different places to grab a bite! Tickets $18. See website for height and weight requirements.

Catamount Aerial Adventure Park , Hillsdale

Catamount Adventure Park

Enjoy the fresh air up in the Berkshire Mountains on the 10-acre forest challenge at Catamount Aerial Adventure Park. Make your way through nine aerial trails with 150 challenge elements. Just like ski trails, you’ll find color-codes indicating the level of difficulty, from Yellow (easy) all the way to Double Black (you’re going to feel this one the next day). Each level up will require more balance, strength, and nerves of steel! You don’t have to be super fit, just willing to push yourself. Adults (ages 12 and older) $64, youth and children (ages 7-11) $59. Season begins in the Spring.

Mountain Adventures at Peek'n Peak Resort , Clymer

Peek N Peak Ziplining

The four-season Peek’n Peak resort is an ideal spot to build a family-fun packed weekend around an exciting ropes and zipline experience, as their Mountain Adventures include a number of ways to enjoy the forest. You can try ziplining, climbing, swinging, and jumping your way through the 69 obstacles within their Aerial Adventure Course. The Giant Dual Ziplines let you soak in spectacular views as you ride a total of 2,000 feet down the mountains. Then there’s the Soaring Eagle Zipline, a 1,400-foot stretch that lets you ride side-by-side another flyer. And finally, for the lower-key folks, you can always take a relaxing three-seater chairlift ride and enjoy the vista, nice and slowly. Prices vary by type of activity. See website for height and weight requirements.

Bristol Mountain Aerial Adventures , Canandaigua

Bristol Mountain Aerial Park - Photo Courtesy of Bristol Mountain Aerial Adventures

About an hour’s drive outside of Rochester, Bristol Mountain Zipline Canopy Tour and aerial adventure park are set in some of the state’s most gorgeous scenery. The aerial adventure part consists of seven courses with more than 125 elements to conquer, and on select dates even offers night climbs followed by a bonfire. The canopy tour lets you ride seven zip lines, cross four bridges, take two gorgeous hikes in nature, and wraps up with a final “Leap of Faith.” Prices vary by type of activity. See website for height and weight requirements. Open Spring through Fall.

Boundless Adventures , Purchase

Boundless Adventures

Let your sense of adventure know no bounds at this epic aerial adventure park in Purchase. Boundless Adventures promises about three and a half hours of challenging fun. Their 11 courses, 110 bridges, 23 ziplines and four leaps of faith offer something for everyone! The staff is on the ready to help you down at any point, so don’t worry, there's no point of no return! Advanced Registration, three hour weekend ticket $69, advanced registration three hour, weekday ticket, $65.  Open early Spring through late Fall.

Bronx Zoo Treetop Adventure , Bronx

You don’t have to visit the animals before you check out the Bronx Zoo’s new Treetop Adventure, but stopping by the monkey exhibits for a little inspiration along the way can’t hurt. Once you arrive you’ll choose either the ziplines, the Treetop courses, or both (we recommend both!). You’ll be assigned an allotted time slot so as to keep the ropes from getting too crowded, but during the short wait they’ll fit you for your harness and give you the rundown on everything you need to know. The ziplines will fly you 400 feet over the Bronx River and back, picking up some serious speed along the way. The Treetop Adventure is designed for you to work your way up the levels, starting with a warm-up on the yellow Chipmunk trails until you’re comfortable to move all the way to black Ratsnake. You can be as independent as you like, but the park rangers are always ready and available to step in to help and offer tips. Now you’ll know how the monkeys feel! Zipline tickets $24.95, climbing and zipline tickets (2.5 hours) $59.95. See website for height and weight requirements.

WildPlay Jones Beach , Wantagh

Face your fears at one of Long Island’s newest and most thrilling outdoor adventures at WildPlay Jones Beach, reopening in April, 2024, for the Spring season! Soar through the salty air high above the coast on the 700-foot long Jones Beach Zipline or make your way from platform to platform walking on tightropes, climbing up cargo nets, hanging on rope swings, and leaping onto swinging logs, and balancing on wobbly bridges on three different levels of adventure courses. Start with the Classic Course and if you’re feeling adventurous, add on the Extreme Course. For tiny climbers aged 5-12, try out the single-level, Kids Course that reaches up to 15 feet high. Still feeling brave? The What’s to Fear Jump is for you! Climb up the rope ladder to the wooden platform where you’ll be secured into the jump line, then take the 40-foot leap down to the bottom. Prices vary by activity and add-ons. See website for pricing, bundles, and height and weight requirements. Open from spring through fall.

New York Zipline Adventures

The saying  “life begins at the edge of your comfort zone” could not be more true for the thrilling attractions at New York Zipline Adventures. Situated in the breathtaking Catskill Mountains, specifically on Hunter Mountain, New York Zipline Adventures offers the highest, fastest, and longest ziplines in North America. With decades of experience and high safety standards, this is the perfect place to say yes to exhilarating new experiences and face your fears to make memories that will last a lifetime.

New York Zipline Adventures offers two different adventure tours based on certain restrictions and preferences. For both adventures, guests will be led by encouraging and knowledgeable guides. The Mid Mountain Tour is a family-friendly tour that includes 6 ziplines, four suspension bridges, and nine tree platforms. On the longest zipline, guests will sail through the trees for 650 feet while 60 feet above the ground. The end of the adventure includes a 65-foot rappel, after which guests will be left satisfied with their achievement.

For safety purposes, guests partaking in the Mid Mountain Tour must be between 50 and 250 lbs and cannot exceed the maximum height of 6’5’’.

New York Zipline Adventures also offers a more challenging Skyrider Tour for extreme thrill-seekers.  Guests can either opt to enjoy a chair lift or an off-road ride to get to the beginning of their adventure. From the start, guests will feel like they’re flying, as the tour contains 5 ziplines spanning up to 3,200 feet. Get a birds-eye view at heights up to 600 feet from the forest floor while zipping along at up to 50 mph. Guests will also have the choice of a few different challenges throughout the adventure, which in total lasts about three hours.

To keep guests safe, New York Zipline Adventures requires guests looking to take the Skyrider Tour to be between 110 and 260 lbs, and no taller than 6’5’’.

New York Zipline Adventures is open from Friday to Sunday from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., and tours are offered in both the warmer and colder months. Prior reservations are required.
