• Option B: First letter of next word can be capital if it is starting a new sentence.

Another fantastic "Travel Auction" package!!!

My partner & I redeemed our Auction voucher in April this year. Had a lovely apartment on the 3rd floor overlooking the marina. The room was lovely, really spacious for the 2 of us. We dined on a few occassions in the Coopers Alehouse which is part of the complex. Inside, when it was a bit windy & outside for lunch on the deck when the weather was good. Staff in the alehouse were great & the locals were really friendly also. We look forward to another trip to Wallaroo when the fishing season is in full swing.

Having not been to Wallaroo for many years my wife and I were pleasantly surprised when we "discovered" these apartments on the web. Wallaroo is an old farming/ mining community on Yorke Peninsula some 100 kms from Adelaide South Australia and has enjoyed something of a rebirth in recent years. The apartment we had was of a good size and came with a fully equipped kitchen. Each unit has its own balcony and ours had views over the sea and the adjoining marina. The building of some 6 levels is situated next door to the Coopers Alehouse Tavern where good reasonably priced meals and drinks are available-- the Alehouse also has 30 gaming machines for those interested in taking a chance Wallaroo is a great jumping off place for those wishing to enjoy the many scenic places of interest on "The Peninsula" It may have been a seasonal special-- we stayed "off peak" in August but at $99 per night we found the apartment of exceptional value. The area has great local beaches and fishing and well worth a visit for those travelling to this part of South Australia from interstate or overseas.

Trips from 1 January 2023 onwards

From 1 January 2023, Intrepid will no longer require travellers to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (excluding all Polar trips and select adventure cruises).

However, we continue to strongly recommend that all Intrepid travellers and leaders get vaccinated to protect themselves and others.

Specific proof of testing or vaccination may still be required by your destination or airline. Please ensure you check travel and entry requirements carefully.

When is the best time to visit South Australia?

South Australia has diverse landscapes and weather patterns. Southern regions like Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale have a Mediterranean climate with cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers. As you go further north, the weather gets hotter and drier.

Down south and along the coast, summer (December-February) is the busiest time of year thanks to warm, sunny weather and a busy festival calendar. Autumn (March-May) is the best time of year for foodies and wine lovers with all the harvest and Vintage celebrations in wine country.

Winter (June-August) is a fab time to see wildlife in Flinders Ranges National Park where wallabies, kangaroos and other native critters make the most of abundant vegetation. You can also spot humpback and southern right whales off the coast.

Spring is a great season for hiking and bushwalking as temperatures are pleasant and native wildflowers are in bloom.

What should I pack for a trip to South Australia?

Bring a trusted pair of walking shoes and a pair of thongs (flip-flops) to wear around your accommodation. Layered clothing is best, including a fleece or jumper to pop on in the evening and a rain jacket in case the weather turns. One or two smart casual outfits should be more than enough for dining out unless you plan on visiting many high-end restaurants or wineries.

How will I travel around South Australia?

Travelling around South Australia often involves a lot of time on the road. Services/amenities can be limited, so bring ample snacks and be sure to download a few podcasts for the journey.

Qantas has announced a snap sale on its domestic network with the cheapest route starting at $105.

Qantas has opened a quickfire three-day sale on 100 domestic routes a day after a new offering for high-rolling frequent flyers.

From Tuesday until Friday, people can book one-way tickets on one of more than 30 routes for less than $150.

Bookings can be made for May to December. The airlines says the sale offers discounts on more than one million seats.

More than 100 routes are on sale, including Launceston to Melbourne ($105), Ballina to Sydney ($1190, Sydney to Gold Coast ($129), Proserpine to Brisbane ($129), Hobart to Melbourne ($135), Brisbane to Hervey Bay ($139), Maroochydore to Sydney ($149) and Adelaide to Whyalla ($149).

On Monday, Qantas announced major changes to its frequent flyer program.

The number of frequent flyer seats available each year increased fourfold to 20 million.

It’s been a turbulent year for the former government-owned airline.

In September, chief executive Alan Joyce quit, and the High Court ruled the company illegally outsourced 1700 jobs during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In March, Qantas was fined $250,000 for breaching workplace health and safety laws. Qantas subsidiary Qantas Ground Services illegally stood down Theo Seremetidis for telling other workers to stop cleaning and servicing planes arriving from China in February 2020.

Just days after Qantas announced a major shakeup to the Frequent Flyer program, rival airline Virgin Australia has a new change for members.

A major airline has slashed airfares to a holiday destination that more than a million Australian holiday makers flock to every year.

Budget airline Scoot is selling flights from Australia to Europe from just $355, as well as other popular overseas destinations.
