Unleash The Archers Announce U.S. Tour With Aether Realm & Seven Kingdoms

Coming fresh off their win of their first-ever Juno award for, ‘metal/hard rock album of the year, and as well as been chosen as Folk N Metals album of the year, Canadian melodic metal quartet Unleash The Archers have announced their return to the road.

The band will be headlining an upcoming tour in the U.S. with support from special guest and fellow labelmates Aether Realm, and Seven Kingdoms. The first show will kick off in Minneapolis Minnesota on September 1st, and the tour will visit major cities before coming to an end in Seattle Washington on September 26. Along with the dates, in the band’s home area of Vancouver, there is a post tour planned as well.

Frontwoman Brittany Slayes talked about the tour by saying:

“It’s actually happening! We have been waiting anxiously for this moment to happen and it’s finally here. We have spent the last year and a half hanging out with our North American fans on Twitch and we absolutely cannot wait to get to play for them all and finally play Abyss live in person! We are going to make sure everything is done safely and will always do our best to keep our fans safe. This tour is going to be such a party, I hope everyone is ready to have a good time because we can’t help but feel like every venue is going to be electric!!! Let’s go!”

As mentioned above, UNLEASH THE ARCHERS are beyond excited and humbled to be the 2021 recipients of the ‘Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year’ JUNO Award for their latest album, Abyss! The JUNO events, which took place over the course of this past weekend, recognize Canadian musical artists and bands for their creative achievements. The band was recognized during Friday’s JUNO Opening Night Awards, presented by Music Canada.

If you can, treat yourself to an UTA gig. These guys are pure awesome. We caught them at a really small venue (maybe 50 pax and it felt packed). Still they sounded huge. They bring in a lot of energy to the stage. Their tour is packed with dates, they were at the tail end of it, and still they sounded fresh. Total troopers! Their songs lend well to crowd sing alongs, so the entire thing feels like a big party where everyone joins in.

At the end they hung around for a meet & greet. It was great to know Scott, Nikko, Grant, Andrew and Brittney!

Cheers brothers and sister, I had a blast!

The sound was set up improperly, so the mids and highs had a lot of trouble coming through with oversaturated bass, but other than that it was a great show

These guys were awesome! They played a short set and put three of their hits at the end: Test Your Metal, Tonight We Ride, and General of the Dark Army. I even got to meet Brittney Slayes and take a picture with her!

However, I do have some complaints. During the live version of General of the Dark Army, Slayes didn't seem to hold out her notes for as long as she does in the recorded version. (I've listened to that song like 1000 times.) Also, I did buy a shirt from them, but I still think they should come up with some cooler designs. I wasn't much of a fan of the metal Yeti or Sasquatch, but I still really wanted to own one of their t-shirts. Hopefully, when they get bigger, they'll unleash some cooler apparel so I have something to blow my money on!

Unleash the Archers Book September U.S. Tour With Aether Realm + Seven Kingdoms

Fresh off a JUNO Award victory in their home country of Canada, power metal battalion Unleash the Archers have just announced a U.S. tour set for September with special guests Aether Realm and Seven Kingdoms .

"It's actually happening! We have been waiting anxiously for this moment to happen and it's finally here. We have spent the last year and a half hanging out with our North American fans on Twitch and we absolutely cannot wait to get to play for them all and finally play Abyss live in person," exclaimed frontwoman Brittney Slayes.

Understanding that although tours are now returning, there are still certain precautions that must be made amid a still ongoing pandemic, Slayes added, "We are going to make sure everything is done safely and will always do our best to keep our fans safe. This tour is going to be such a party, I hope everyone is ready to have a good time because we can't help but feel like every venue is going to be electric!!! Let's go!"

The run kicks off in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Sept. 1 and will finish up in Seattle, Washington on Sept. 26, making 23 stops in total. See the complete list of dates below and for tickets, head  here .

Unleash the Archers will be out promoting last year's  Abyss album, for which the band earned the JUNO Award for 'Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year.' Meanwhile, melodic death/folk group Aether Realm will be touting  Redneck Vikings From Hell , their third album, which dropped last year, and Florida power metal group Seven Kingdoms are currently prepping their fifth record.

Sur leur site d'entraînement habituel dans le bois de Vincennes, les archers français ont disputé une compétition interne, dans des conditions proches de celles qu'ils connaîtront cet été sur l'esplanade des Invalides.

Avec de l'imagination, le centre de tir à l'arc Sébastien Flute de l'INSEP avait (un peu) des airs d'Invalides ce mercredi après-midi. Le lieu iconique où se dérouleront les épreuves du tir à l'arc du 25 juillet au 4 août. Les archers de l'équipe de France aiguisent leurs flèches dans le cadre de leur préparation olympique. Ils disputent ainsi plusieurs compétitions dans des conditions se rapprochant du grand rendez-vous estival, une fois passé l'étape de la qualification. Ce mercredi 27 mars, une plateforme de tir de 10m x 10m a été aménagée avec des passages par la chambre d'appel. Marc Chavet, le speaker retenu pour les épreuves de tir à l'arc l'été prochain, la voix des épreuves de Coupe du Monde et des Championnats du Monde depuis une dizaine d'années, a joué les maîtres de cérémonie.

Au programme : un double mixte (équipes de 2 archers – 1 homme et 1 femme), un match par équipe (équipes de 3 archers) et des matchs individuels hommes et femmes. À l'affiche, quatre archères et quatre archers. Lisa Barbelin, 23 ans, Amélie Cordeau, 18 ans, Caroline Lopez, 20 ans, Victoria Sebastian, 20 ans. Chez les hommes, Baptiste Addis, 17 ans, Nicolas Bernardi, 21 ans, Thomas Chirault 26 ans et Jean-Charles Valladont , 35 ans le vice-champion olympique 2016.

Sous le regard d'une centaine de personnes, des licenciés du comité régional d'île de France, chargés d'assurer l'ambiance dans des gradins installés pour l'occasion, sifflets à la bouche et « clap-clap » dans les mains. Objectif, mettre les huit rescapés des sélections en situation de compétition la plus proche possible de ce qu'ils auront lors des Jeux : «Il manque 8.900 personnes, s'amuse Jean-Charles Valladont (9.000 spectateurs sont attendus pour les épreuves de tir à l'arc) . L'événement sera énorme. Cette préparation permet de se mettre en condition et de créer de l'aisance, tout en restant dans sa bulle. Mais ça reste le même sport et le même objectif. Tirer à 70 mètres sur une cible d'1 m22 de diamètre. Et son plus gros adversaire reste soi-même.» .

Outre l'écran géant, annonçant les scores et permettant au néophyte de s'y retrouver, une zone mixte a été mise en place, comme pour les Jeux où les athlètes seront interviewés en sortie de pas de tir. Et en ce mercredi pluvieux, ils ont pris un peu de lumière médiatique. Une vingtaine de médias ayant fait le déplacement au cœur du Bois de Vincennes. « Même si c'est 1% du public qu'il y aura aux Invalides ça permet aux jeunes archers qui n'ont pas l'habitude de tirer dans des arènes de trouver des repères pour communiquer avec leur coach quand il y a du bruit par exemple, souligne Benoît Binon, DTN. On sort de la période hivernale intensive de préparation où on est monté à 600 flèches par jour tirées par athlète de 8h30 à 18h30 . C'est un gros volume. On entre dans la préparation de la compétition. Mentalement, ils basculent vers les Jeux. » « C'est une bonne étape et une belle répétition pour lancer la saison » , renchérit Lisa Barbelin, la tête d’affiche des Bleues.

Les huit archers retenus disputeront la saison de Coupe du monde (trois étapes), un Grand Prix et les Championnats d'Europe. Fin juin, la Fédération révélera qui des huit sélectionnés, seront les deux remplaçants des équipes hommes et femmes. « On ne s'appuie pas sur un classement. C'est la DTN qui va composer l'équipe, poursuit Benoît Binon. Depuis l'an dernier on fait des sélections très tôt dans la saison. Les performances individuelles seront prises en compte, ainsi que les performances par équipes. »

Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you. Les archers français débutent leur saison au Grand Prix de Compiègne

Les archers de l'équipe de France lancent leur saison en plein air ce week-end à Compiègne avec le Grand Prix de l'Arc - Wiawis. Le début d'une aventure qui les mènera jusqu'aux Jeux Olympiques de Paris 2024.

Les meilleurs archers français seront à Compiègne (Oise) samedi et dimanche pour le Grand Prix de l'Arc - Wiawis, qui marquera leur entrée dans la saison en plein air. Chez les Bleues, Lisa Barbelin (championne d'Europe 2021), Caroline Lopez - toutes deux médaillées d'argent par équipes aux Mondiaux 2023 -, Amélie Cordeau et Victoria Sebastian, seront présentes.

On retrouvera également Jean-Charles Valladont, le dernier Français médaillé aux Jeux Olympiques (argent à Rio de Janeiro en 2016), Baptiste Addis, Thomas Chirault et Nicolas Bernardi. Ces huit Tricolores sont en lice pour une place aux Jeux Olympiques de Paris 2024 (26 juillet - 11 août). Trois filles et trois garçons obtiendront un ticket en juin prochain.

Le Grand Prix de l'Arc - Wiawis sera également marqué par la présence de la Sud-Coréenne Kang Chae-young, championne olympique par équipes en 2021 à Tokyo, et du Japonais Takaharu Furukawa, médaillé de bronze en individuel et par équipes aux JO 2021.
