THIS IS WHAT AWAITS IN EUROPE

Towering castles. Untamed natural beauty. Captivating history. Can’t-miss cuisine. This is your time, your moment, your chance to discover Europe.

Destination Must-Sees

seville

The capital and largest city of Andalusian Spain is Seville. Approximately 2,200 years old, the early origins of the city date back to the year 712. It is situated along the Guadalquivir River, which splits the city into two halves. Seville is famous for being the birthplace of the Flamenco dance. It is also known for its culture, monuments, traditions and artistic heritage.

costa del sol

The Costa del Sol:

This “Sunny Coast” is the southernmost part of Spain, stretching along the Mediterranean Sea. Its major province is Málaga, the home of Picasso. To the far west part of the Costa del Sol is the Strait of Gibraltar, which separates the Mediterranean from the Atlantic. The sunny provinces of the Costa del Sol are known for their golden sandy beaches, fresh Mediterranean seafood and relaxing atmosphere.

Europe ms1

Irish countryside:

Take in the atmosphere of quaint seaside villages, see awe inspiring views of the Lakes of Killarney and explore the picturesque town of Kinsale. Wherever you travel in the countryside, you’ll find that the rolling hills and friendly people you encounter will become a part of your fabric.

Europe ms2

Ancient cities of Italy:

Italy is positively brimming with the world’s most famous Roman ruins like the Colosseum, Pompeii and many other relics from the ancient past. In fact, many cities in Italy still hold evidence of what once was. You can find an aqueduct, city gate, Roman theater or the ruins of an entire city there.

Destination Must-Dos

Spain md2

La Sagrada Familia:

Meaning the Holy Family, this modern structure is known as the church of the people, built by the people, with the money of the people. While it is not the cathedral of Barcelona, it is widely known due to its unique architecture and phenomenal design initiated by architect Antoni Gaudí. Work on the exploratory church began in 1882 and continues to this day, but with modern technology and the rising number of visitors and donations, the church’s completion date has rapidly become closer. The facades of the church are breathtaking in their intricate and artistic details, all of which were inspired by Gaudí.

Palace of Versailles France2022

The Palace of Versailles

The iconic Palace of Versailles (UNESCO) and its gardens reflect the extravagant tastes of King Louis XIV, the "Sun King." Alongside a local guide, learn the history and admire the various rooms of the State Apartments, including the Queen's bedchamber and the famous Hall of Mirrors. Be sure to explore the incredible gardens, some of the most famous in the world, which took over 40 years to complete and include intricate architecture, elaborate fountains, and gorgeous statues.

Europe md2

Drift down a canal:

While canals are found across Europe, nothing beats a romantic gondola ride in Venice. Locals like to say the best way to explore the city is to ‘get lost.’ So take a ride along these waterways, step off and then wind your way through the intricate blend of bridges, narrow streets and grand squares.

Spain md4

This was the first capital of Spain located about 43 miles south of Madrid. The history of Toledo dates back to the Roman occupation circa 192 B.C. The old city of Toledo sits atop of a small mountain surrounded on three sides by the Tagus River, and medieval walls on the fourth. From the top of the mountain you can get a 180 degree view of the surrounding landscape.

Magnificent landscapes combined with the country’s charming traditions and customs offer new experiences unlike anywhere else in the world. Famous for bullfighting, Spain allows you to grab life by the horns and dive into adventure. Whether it’s the eye-catching architecture of Madrid, the bold Spanish wines, or the shimmering Costa del Sol, this country remains a delight to the senses. Once you experience Spain, you’ll never want to leave and when you do, you’ll always be craving more.

A gem of the Iberian Peninsula, Portugal is a paradise. On the coasts, sun-soaked beaches meet breathtaking hillside towns all down the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. In the cities, ancient structures rise up shoulder-to-shoulder with modern living. Everywhere you turn, you can find mouth-watering food paired with delicious local wines, medieval architecture paired with Moorish artistic influence, and friendly locals paired with charming attitudes. No matter what you seek, when you go, where you look, or how long you stay, Portugal offers something for every traveler.

Whether it’s old-world traditions and wonderful culture, cuisine, history, fashion or natural beauty, Italy is special to many people for different reasons. Few other countries boast so many legendary cities. There are also many charming hill towns and coastal villages that showcase Italy’s amazing natural beauty. From the big cities to the small towns, there is always something exciting to see in Italy. With so many reasons to visit, the rest is up to you!

A rendezvous with a magnifique experience awaits! As cliché as it sounds, France truly has something for everyone. With over two dozen cities, each with their own nuances of the French culture and contributions to its history, architecture, art and last but not least, the gastronomical delights that the French are famous for throughout the world are yours to explore, experience and fall in love with during your stay. Coast to coast, border to border, there are seemingly endless variations on your French experience to be had. Rolling hills and scenic valleys lined with the fruit of the gods; seaside towns, along sandy beaches with views you just might be sharing with royalty; or maybe snowcapped mountain ranges providing some of the best skiing in the world and an adrenaline rush to match is what you seek. Whatever you decide, France easily makes you feel as if you have stepped out of reality and into the art you learned about and loved since you were a child.

At the heart of Europe, monumental contemporary and historic events shape today’s Germany. From the fall of the Berlin Wall to the rise of the Beatles in Hamburg, the culture of the country is marked by its influential past and present. Imagine yourself exploring postcard-worthy castles such as Neuschwanstein or wandering through medieval cities such as Regensburg. From the Bavarian Alps to the Rhine Gorge to the plains of the north, the range of Germany’s landscapes will capture your heart. Perhaps you’ll also indulge your taste buds as you sample the delicious Marzipan sweet treats of the Hanseatic port of Lubeck, which have been produced there for over 200 years. Whether on a journey on the ‘Romantic Road’ or cruising along the Rhine, know that a stein of German beer or a glass of wine from the Rhine vineyards are both a worthy compliment to a destination that offers far more than the average traveler anticipates.

Switzerland

Incredible skiing on the Swiss Alps and delectable Swiss chocolate are only two reasons for visiting Switzerland. Located between Austria, France, Germany and Italy, you can get quite a diverse European cultural experience depending on which region of Switzerland you choose. And though the food, music, art and people themselves are very much influenced by their European neighbors, they are all still uniquely Swiss. You will leave with plenty of memories to savor for a lifetime.

22 Best July Europe destinations for 2023 from cheapest to most expensive

Everyone knows that July is probably the busiest month for visiting Europe, but that is true for a reason. The days are long (especially in the north), the weather is sunny and warm, and everything is open and ready for visitors. The list below are the 22 best places to visit in Europe in the month of July, and this year we’ve ranked them by price so you can figure out a budget as you research. You may not realize that the most expensive cities in Europe (like London and Venice) are around 3 or 4 times as expensive as some of the cheaper ones like Budapest and Krakow.

If you’ve got a huge travel budget you can skip down to the destinations near the bottom of the list, but if you are one of us who needs to keep our expenses a bit lower, you’ll find plenty of great options in the top half of the list. To rank each destination we use our Europe Backpacker Index , which is an annual report that compares the typical daily costs for budget travelers in over 120 cities around the world. You’ll see the daily “Backpacker Index” budget at the bottom of each listing, and you’ll see the wide range of prices. If you choose the cheaper cities you can splurge a bit and still save money. Check out our list of Europe’s cheapest 5-star hotels , starting at US$80 per night for a really nice place.

 • July 7 to 14 – Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain
 • July 14 – Bastille Day in France (major public holiday)

22 Best destinations in Europe in July from cheapest to most expensive

Budapest, hungary – cheapest.

 • July avg high: 80F/27C
 • July avg low: 60F/16C
 • July avg precip: 1.9″/4.8cm

Budapest highlights

 • Parliament building overlooking the Danube: Great photos
 • Some of Europe’s grandest architecture fitting of a major capital
 • Very cheap food and drinks (outside of the riverside tourist zones)
 • Natural hot spring baths in the city that are easy and cheap to visit
 • “Ruin pubs” set in courtyards of old apartment buildings (unusual and unforgettable)

europe tour july 2023

This city has its fair share of outdoor cafes and bars, so you can take advantage of the unusually low drink prices to spend a long evening in one. The famous “ruin pubs” have an open-air courtyard in the center, so they are particularly enjoyable during the summer months.

 • Good 3-star hotels in July from €44 for two people
 • Good 4-star hotels in July from €71 for two people
 • Hostel dorm beds in July from €13 per person

Budapest Backpacker Index for 2023: US$38.21

Krakow, Poland

 • July avg high: 76F/24C
 • July avg low: 59F/15C
 • July avg precip: 3.5″/8.8cm

Krakow highlights

 • Wonderful historic zone surrounded by a green park
 • Wawel Castle complex is also in the center
 • Great food and hotels that can be weirdly cheap
 • Lively nightlife and culture, especially on weekends
 • An easy day trip to Auschwitz

europe tour july 2023

The July weather will make spending time in the abundant parks and open areas all the nicer. You can expect some crowds in the main town square, but overall Krakow is still far enough off the main trails that it doesn’t get overwhelmed like so many others on this list can in summer. By the way, Warsaw is the current capital and a much larger (and a bit more expensive) city, but it’s actually kind of dull compared to Krakow, which used to be the capital and is easier to reach.

 • Good 3-star hotels in July from €34 for two people
 • Good 4-star hotels in July from €68 for two people
 • Hostel dorm beds in July from €12 per person

Krakow Backpacker Index for 2023: US$41.03

Istanbul, Turkey

 • July avg high: 83F/28C
 • July avg low: 65F/18C
 • July avg precip: 0.9″/2.3cm

Istanbul highlights

 • Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque: Both amazing and next to each other
 • Grand Bazaar overall souvenir shopping
 • Topkapi Palace is world-class
 • Great breakfasts and food in general at good prices
 • Very affordable hotels in the tourist zones

europe tour july 2023

Another reason to consider a visit to Turkey is that the currency has plunged in recent years, so now everything here is a bargain once again. In fact, Istanbul will feel fairly cheap, and literally every other place in the country is even cheaper. It will be warm in Cappadocia or Antalya, but when you see how wonderful and cheap those places are at this point, it’ll be worth the visit.

 • Good 3-star hotels in July from €24 for two people
 • Good 4-star hotels in July from €36 for two people
 • Hostel dorm beds in July from €9 per person

Istanbul Backpacker Index for 2023: US$56.35

Prague, Czechia

 • July avg low: 58F/14C
 • July avg precip: 2.6″/6.5cm

Prague highlights

 • Prague Castle complex: One of Europe’s largest and easiest to tour
 • Charles Bridge and Old Town Square for amazing photos
 • Eastern Europe’s most interesting architecture, which somehow survived WWII
 • Hearty food at great prices (if you avoid tourist zones)
 • Arguably the world’s best beer that is also very cheap

europe tour july 2023

Hotels here can feel pricey, but there are affordable apartments and food is still good value even if prices have gone up in recent years. With 2 or 3 more days in you should consider a side trip to the wonderful small town of Cesky Krumlov , which is 3 hours away on a scenic bus ride or train.

 • Good 3-star hotels in July from €51 for two people
 • Good 4-star hotels in July from €72 for two people
 • Hostel dorm beds in July from €14 per person

Lisbon, Portugal

 • July avg high: 82F/28C
 • July avg low: 64F/18C
 • July avg precip: 0.2″/0.5cm

Lisbon highlights

 • Castles, towers, and cathedrals, all close together in the same district
 • Tram 28, which connects many of Lisbon’s tourist sights for €3 a ride
 • Elevador de Santa Justa – the famous outdoor elevator: Great photos.
 • Really good food at affordable prices
 • Fado (local folk music) shows to go along with great dinners

europe tour july 2023

In July you’ll find half of Britain packed into the hotels and flats in the Algarve , which is the southern coast of Portugal. It’s worth a look in July if you don’t mind crowds, but this is probably a better month to head north to Porto instead.

 • Good 3-star hotels in July from €52 for two people
 • Good 4-star hotels in July from €78 for two people
 • Hostel dorm beds in July from €22 per person

Lisbon Backpacker Index for 2023: US$71.59

Berlin, Germany

 • July avg high: 75F/24C
 • July avg precip: 2.2″/5.5cm

Berlin highlights

 • Brandenburg Gate and Berlin Wall attractions make for great photos
 • Berlin Cathedral and Reichstag building: very different and both amazing
 • Museum Island including several world-class museums
 • Europe’s most eclectic and interesting nightlife
 • Surprisingly cheap food, drinks, and hotels for a huge European city

europe tour july 2023

Even though Berlin doesn’t have a great number of so-called checklist attractions, nearly everyone who visits absolutely loves it. This city is just a fascinating combination of elements that you can’t find almost anywhere else and it’s hard to describe in two paragraphs. Another interesting feature is that English is so widely spoken and understood that it’s considered acceptable to just speak in English if you are visiting without having to go through the whole “Do you speak English?” routine that is polite elsewhere in Germany.

 • Good 3-star hotels in July from €64 for two people
 • Good 4-star hotels in July from €76 for two people

Berlin Backpacker Index for 2023: US$75.49

Florence, Italy

 • July avg high: 88F/31C
 • July avg low: 63F/17C
 • July avg precip: 1.6″/4.0cm

Florence highlights

 • Florence Cathedral and city hall are major landmarks
 • Ponte Vecchio bridge with its jewelry shops
 • Uffizi Gallery and other museums (make reservations)
 • Capital of Tuscany gives it the best eats of major Italian cities
 • Great and affordable wines!

europe tour july 2023

Another great thing about Florence is that it’s an ideal base for day trips to Pisa, Siena, Cinque Terre, and some lovely hill towns nearby, so this is a good place to pad your Italy trip. Hotel rates here are lower than in Rome and Venice as well, but again, cheaper hotels might not have air conditioning.

 • Good 3-star hotels in July from €55 for two people
 • Good 4-star hotels in July from €97 for two people
 • Hostel dorm beds in July from €21 per person

Florence Backpacker Index for 2023: US$83.19

Rome, Italy

 • July avg precip: 0.6″/1.5cm

Rome highlights

 • Colosseum, Ancient Rome, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and many more
 • Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, are amazing
 • Stunning architecture that brings a smile every time you turn a corner
 • Great place to sample Italian food styles from all over the country
 • Coffee and wine bars that are cheap, fun, and interesting

europe tour july 2023

Most people head north from Rome to Florence and Venice (see below), but if you’ve got a bit more time you might consider visiting Sorrento , which is a bit south of Naples and it’s the ideal base for a day-trip to Naples as well as Pompeii, the island of Capri, and the Amalfi Coast. Sorrento will be much less crowded and more pleasant in July, so it’s a nice place to just relax and enjoy the food and scenery.

 • Good 3-star hotels in July from €56 for two people
 • Hostel dorm beds in July from €15 per person

>>> Check hotel deals for Rome >>> Rome prices and travel tips

Rome Backpacker Index for 2023: US$83.32

Vienna, Austria

 • July avg high: 78F/26C
 • July avg precip: 2.7″/6.8cm

Vienna highlights

 • Schönbrunn Palace and Hofburg Palace are both incredible
 • Vienna State Opera with daytime tours: culture capital
 • Famous Ferris Wheel in Prater Park as featured in The Third Man
 • Lovely historic town center within the Ring Road
 • Cafe culture at its finest and amazing desserts!

europe tour july 2023

This city is also known for its cafe culture, much more so than its nightlife, and the lovely July weather is a perfect time of year to spend parts of each day outdoors watching the city go by. The palaces here are also among the best in Europe.

 • Good 3-star hotels in July from €59 for two people
 • Good 4-star hotels in July from €73 for two people

>>> Check hotel deals for Vienna >>> Vienna prices and travel tips

Vienna Backpacker Index for 2023: US$85.00

Bruges, Belgium

 • July avg high: 66F/19C
 • July avg precip: 1.5″/3.8cm

Bruges highlights

 • Burg Square and the famous Bell Tower (as seen in In Bruges)
 • Daily market in the historic district
 • Brewery tours: many to choose from
 • Choco Story Chocolate Museum
 • Lovely canals and bridges with a pleasant atmosphere

europe tour july 2023

On your way to Bruges you’ll almost certainly need to change trains in Brussels, and spending a few hours there is a good idea. It’s mostly a business and government city, but the area around the Grand Place (main square) is extremely impressive and interesting. You can have lunch, take some amazing photos, and even see the famous Manneken Pis sculpture just a couple short blocks from the Grand Place.

 • Good 3-star hotels in July from €83 for two people
 • Good 4-star hotels in July from €104 for two people
 • Hostel dorm beds in July from €23 per person

Bruges Backpacker Index for 2023: US$86.99

Salzburg, Austria

 • July avg low: 56F/15C
 • July avg precip: 6.2″/15.5cm

Salzburg highlights

 • Hohensalzburg Fortress on top of the hill is stunning and photogenic
 • Mozart’s birthplace and other Mozart attractions
 • Sound of Music bus tours (seriously great even if you haven’t seen the movie)
 • Gorgeous historic town center at the base of the hill
 • Classical concerts in small venues at reasonable prices, day and night

europe tour july 2023

Obviously July is a busy month in Salzburg and there are some classical music festivals in July that could make visiting near the end of the month more expensive, but the home of Mozart is still worth a visit if you are anywhere near it in summer. By the way, Innsbruck is essentially a hub for skiing and other winter sports and there isn’t much to see, especially compared to the gorgeous historic district and surrounding terrain in Salzburg.

 • Good 3-star hotels in July from €86 for two people
 • Good 4-star hotels in July from €103 for two people
 • Hostel dorm beds in July from €29 per person

 • Edinburgh Castle and the photo from below
 • The Royal Mile and great shops
 • The Camera Obscura: highly recommended
 • Unique food and drink culture (haggis isn’t bad!)
 • Palace of Holyrood: Royal residence

europe tour july 2023

Edinburgh is worth three nights if you can spare them, but you might also consider heading north from here up to Inverness, which is the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. Skip the dull Loch Ness tours and make your way to the Isle of Skye out west for some scenery you’ll never forget.

 • Good 3-star hotels in July from £68 for two people
 • Good 4-star hotels in July from £111 for two people
 • Hostel dorm beds in July from £28 per person

 • Amazingly beautiful city with green copper rooftops
 • Gamla Stan historic district
 • Vasa Museum with actual recovered ship
 • ABBA Museum
 • Östermalm – Fashionable and trendy shopping district

europe tour july 2023

The bit about the summer sun certainly applies here, and since the weather is so terrible most of the year, the whole city pulses with energy during the short summers. In fact, many attractions are only open in July and August, so it’s probably better to join the crowds and soak it all in.

 • Good 3-star hotels in July from €91 for two people
 • Good 4-star hotels in July from €128 for two people

You could save a bit of money by visiting Copenhagen in the shoulder season, but it may not be worth it because summers here are so much more alive than the rest of the year, with a sun that barely even sets before heading back up into the sky again. Copenhagen is expensive, so it’s helpful that it’s usually easy to get cheap flights on one of the local airlines.

Even though the country has become more expensive in the last few years, you can still visit Iceland on the cheap with these tips . Food and accommodation are on the pricey side, but it’s worth it. Tourism to Iceland had dropped even more than other places during the pandemic, but late 2022 saw record numbers of visitors once again, particularly among Americans.

Things can be foggy or wet up top even in July so it’s best to schedule your visits immediately once you know that things are clear at the moment. If you want to visit a second place in Switzerland to admire the unusual beauty, Lucerne is your best bet. europe tour july 2023

Residents of Amsterdam flock to the open areas in summer, hoping to get at least a bit of sun. So Vondelpark, Museumplein, Dam Square, and Leidseplein are all full of life this time of year. Things do get crowded around the Anne Frank House and Van Gogh Museum, but since there are so few busy streets in Amsterdam’s center, it can still feel peaceful. Amsterdam Gay Pride Festival (and its boat parade) is a really huge deal and it draws large crowds from all over Europe and the world. In 2023 it starts on July 29 and goes through August 6, so if you are coming during that time it’s best to book as early as possible.

More good news is that all of the United Kingdom is far more reasonably priced since the currency fell and stayed low following the Brexit vote. In fact, since every UK city outside of London is cheaper, this is a good time to tour the island. Bath and York are the two best other tourist towns in England, but really you should also head to Edinburgh (see below) in Scotland. Located on a lovely harbor, Bergen is also known as the gateway to the fjords. If you want to see the stunning scenery up Norway’s jagged coastline, this is the place to come for boat tours or even the Hurtigruten that goes all the way into the Arctic Circle. Food and drinks here are expensive, but hotels are pretty good value because quality is high.

Venice, Italy

 • Sidewalks and passageways in the morning and evening when they aren’t crowded

The crowds in Venice are nightmarish even in the winter months, or at least they are during the day. So the trick to visiting is to book a hotel on the main island and do as much walking around and sightseeing in the early morning and evening as possible. Most of the daytime crowd heads off to buses or hotels on the mainland, so Venice is surprisingly peaceful in the off hours.

22 Best July Europe destinations for 2023 from cheapest to most expensive " --> All Comments

Thanks Roger. This really helps. We would consider two flights as well. The flights for us could actually be cheaper that way rather than going straight through. We’re also considering making the “European” section of the trip longer.

I still like the Istanbul idea, and it’s among the cheaper options. If you are willing to do an extra flight then you can reach any city that has connections to Moscow, St. Petersburg, or Istanbul, which could get you to any major city in Europe. For a first-impression of Europe while also trying to keep costs down for a 3-day stay I’d recommend Berlin, Budapest, or Prague. Prague is the most beautiful of the three, but hotels there in good locations can be expensive. Berlin is the easiest (nearly everyone you encounter can speak English well) and it’s really fun, though it may not be classic enough for a great first visit. Budapest is the cheapest of the three and also fun. I hope this helps. -Roger

Hi. We need a good 3 night stopover city on the way back from Bishkek, Kyrgystan in July. Never been to Europe, but we’re trying to keep our costs as low as possible. Came across your site while researching and wondered if you have any recommendations for such a short stay? Thank you.

I just checked which cities have flights to Bishkek, Kyrgystan from Europe and the only non-Russian one is Istanbul. That is actually fortunate because Istanbul is quite affordable these days and three nights there would be ideal. The Turkish currency is down in the last few years so it’s unusually cheap, and also some tourists are staying away because of some political uncertainty. I would not hesitate to go myself because it doesn’t involve tourists at all and if you went you wouldn’t even know that there might be an issue. There have actually been big demonstrations in Paris, London, and in Italy this year and Istanbul has been very quiet. Just stay in the Sultanahmet district, which is where most of the best attractions are located, and you’ll have a fantastic time.

It looks like you’d require at least two flights to reach any other European city. If you are up for that and you don’t want to go to Istanbul, let me know and I’ll come up with something else. -Roger

What do you know about the current state of affairs in Istanbul, Turkey? I’m considering a trip in June/July, but am unsure of what it is like nowadays on the ground. The US still has a travel warning in place.

Thoughts? Thanks, K

I wish I knew more about what is going on in Istanbul. I lived in Turkey for over a year not long ago and things are very calm in Kas (near Antalya) where I lived, but they are always calm there. I haven’t heard about ANY tourist-related issues in Istanbul in years, so I’m a bit surprised the warning is still on. One thing I do know is that tourism to Turkey is way down from even a few years ago and many hotels and tour companies are struggling. I think I’d go to Istanbul if an opportunity came up, but it’s hard for me to say that anyone else should go. My feeling is that as long as you avoid any protests or gatherings that it would be very safe. Most of those State Department travel warnings feel like an overreach, except for the ones related to consistent violence or targeting like with the drug gangs and that sort of thing. Best of luck with whatever you decide. -Roger

Hi and Thanks Roger,

Had you mentioned Sofia as an uncrowded, reasonably priced place previously ? If so, has that changed ? Oh, talking July particularly. Appreciate it,

I’ve been to Sofia a few times, but not in the last two years or so. Still, I’m 100% sure that it’s still very affordable because we do track hotel and hostel prices, as well as the general inflation rate. You’ll be able to get a dinner in a nice sit-down restaurant for under US$5 with no problem. And I’m also sure that Sofia is still fairly uncrowded even in summer. Not only is it a bit off the beaten path for most travelers, but it lacks a checklist attraction that people come specifically to see. I find the city enjoyable and pleasant in addition to being cheap and pretty friendly. But it’s not the kind of place people rave about after one short visit. Enjoy it if you go. -Roger

Ticino is often referred to as the sunniest region in Switzerland. In July, it boasts pleasant summer weather, making it the perfect destination for your European getaway. The average temperature typically hovers around a comfortable 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees Celsius), with the highs reaching into the mid-80s.

It’s a predominantly sunny month, with blue skies and long daylight hours bringing a refreshing ambiance, although occasional brief afternoon or nighttime showers are not uncommon. These showers offer a pleasant respite, cooling down the temperatures just enough to create a comfortable atmosphere.

Best Way To Reach Destination

Reaching Ticino is a journey filled with picturesque landscapes and efficient travel options. You could choose to fly into Zurich Airport, Switzerland’s largest international gateway, or Milan Airport in neighboring Italy. From either airport, Ticino is conveniently accessible through a scenic 2-hour train or car ride.

Best Place To Stay

Giorgy from G Extreme Travel says, “When it comes to accommodation , Ticino offers a variety of high-quality establishments that cater to various preferences. For travelers seeking a blend of comfort and history, Castello del Sole in Ascona offers an immersive experience.

Nestled within a 14th-century castle, this hotel provides a unique blend of ancient charm and modern luxury, including a private beach, a vast park, and a gourmet restaurant.”

best destinations to visit in July in Europe

Porto, Portugal

When looking for the perfect July vacation in Europe, Porto in Portugal should be at the top of your list! This incredibly charming city is full of history with several UNESCO World Heritage sites and has incredible weather since Porto is located in Northern Portugal.

One of the best things to add to your Porto itinerary includes visiting some churches covered in “aulejo”, which are the famous blue ceramic tiles. Two of the best examples can be found at the Chapel of Souls and the Church of Saint Ildefonso.

Another must-do while in Porto, is to cross the Douro River over to Vila Nova de Gaia and enjoy some Port wine at one of the many wineries. This is the birthplace of Port wine, making it a special experience.

For an added experience, you can even take a day trip to the Douro Valley, where the grapes are grown, and experience the vineyards and local Portuguese food.

Additionally, make sure to walk down Praça da Ribeira, one of Porto’s most historic squares. This is right on the Douro River. Wander through some of the picturesque back alleys. Don’t forget to grab a couple of Pastel de Natas, Portugal’s famous egg custards.

While Porto can be known for rain, July is one of the driest months. You can expect sunny days with temperatures around 70° to 80° Fahrenheit.

The best airport to fly into is the Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport. The airport is located about 20 minutes from the city center, and you can easily hire a car service or rideshare.

Samantha from Find Love And Travel says, “One of the best places to stay when visiting Porto is at PortoBay Flores , located on the famous Rua das Flores street. This 5-star luxury hotel offers world-class dining, an indoor pool, and is close to all the major attractions.”

July is best time to visit Copenhagen in Europe

Copenhagen, Denmark

If you’ve not been to Copenhagen yet, schedule it for your next summer holiday ASAP! This is one of the best European cities to visit in July. It is small but vibrant, with a wonderful energy to it during the summer months.

Filled with stylish Scandinavian buildings, beautiful Scandinavian people and delicious Nordic food, the city is a delight for the senses.

Food lovers will enjoy visiting the home city of the world’s Best Restaurant (Noma – until 2024 when it closes.) Besides traditional Danish food such as Smorrebrod (essentially open sandwiches), the city also offers all kinds of international cuisine from Korean food to hot dogs (seen everywhere on the streets.).

The best things to do in Copenhagen in July include visiting the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. You’ll have to take the train to get there – the journey is under an hour – but Denmark’s most visited art museum has a terrific collection of modern art (over 4000 pieces), gorgeous architecture as well as a beautiful setting by the coast.

Have lunch at Torvehallerne, a food market in the centre of the city with over 80 stalls, offering everything from fresh fish to luxury chocolates and wine.

Ride a bike to Jaegersborggade! Cycling is a huge part of Danish life and, when in Denmark, why not do as the Danes do? Jaegersborggade is a charming area filled with cobblestone streets, trendy boutiques and cool cafes.

The weather in July is as good as it gets for Copenhagen: about 58-70F. It is not too hot and not too cold. You will get sunny days with only 2 inches of rain over 8 days so you can see more during your trip.

Copenhagen is a perfect city for walking or biking, and that’s much more fun when it’s warm and sunny.

Denmark is not cheap so taxis will cost you a pretty penny. Instead, after landing at Copenhagen Airport, you can get quick and convenient access to the city centre by train (about 15 minutes to Copenhagen Central Station from which you can easily get to any part of the city.)

Zhen from A Love Letter To Asia says, “If you like a trendy, well-located hotel with an Instagrammable pool, go for Manon Les Suites .

For those with more to spend and who prefer something that is even more central and feels more luxurious- though note the rooms are on the smaller side- Hotel Sanders comes highly recommended.”

If you are looking for more inspiration, please see where to stay in Copenhagen .

best July holiday in Europe

Brittany, France

One of the best July getaways in Europe is Brittany (Bretagne). This northwestern region of France is surrounded by the sea, so it stays cool. You’ll have lots of opportunities to be out on the water.

Rennes, the largest city in the region is home to around 300 preserved half-timbered houses from the 16th century. The Breton Parliament Building is also worth touring. In the summer, there is an entertaining light and music show projected on it each night.

On Wednesdays in July, there is the Fest Noz Music and Dance Festival in the Parc du Thabor. This is the best place to see traditional Breton music and dance, try out some regional games and join in the dancing.

Rennes has good train and bus connections to other parts of Brittany, so you’ll definitely want to take some day trips. Some of the best small towns for day trips include Pont-Aven and Dinan. History buffs will love the well-preserved medieval castle of Fougères.

The walled city of St. Malo is the most popular beach destination and is only an hour from Rennes by train. In the 16th and 17th centuries, St. Malo was a vital port full of corsairs and tradesmen and Jacques Cartier called it his home.

Next to St. Malo is Cancale, a small coastal town that is the place to go if you like oysters or at least want to see how they are cultivated.

Other foods to try in Brittany are the low-alchol content cider and the galettes. A galette is a buckwheat crepe filled with savory flavors like meat, cheese, and egg.

Whatever you end up eating and doing, you’ll love visiting Brittany in July!

The average high temperature in July in 75 F with average lows of 56 F. You can expect very little rain.

Rennes has an international airport and good train connections to Paris.

Kristin from Growing Global Citizens says, “A fun, trendy hotel to stay in is Mama Shelter Rennes . It’s a newer French chain and has a great rooftop restaurant overlooking the Marché des Lices. Every Saturday morning one of the largest food markets in France happens here.”

best beach destination in July in Europe

Sardinia, Italy

Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean after Sicily. Although part of Italy, it actually is a world of its own, with an incredible variety of landscapes, cultures, foods, lots of archeological sites, lovely cities and smaller towns and villages. It is one of the best destinations for a July trip in Europe.

There are many fantastic things to do in Sardinia, but July calls for a day (or actually, many days!) at the beach. You have thousands of options here!

You can simply take a bus, bike or drive to the beach, although there are some highly protected beaches that are only accessible via a hike. That includes the magnificent Cala Goloritze in the Orosei Gulf or Cala Coticcio , in Caprera (part of the Maddalena Archipelago).

Others can only be reached by boat, such as the beaches in Spargi island (also part of the Maddalena archipelago).

If you fancy a more cultured day, opt to visit one of the many archeological sites on the island. Su Nuraxi in Barumini is Sardinia’s most famous archeological site, and a UNESCO site too. You can easily get there on day trips from Cagliari (Sardinia’s capital).

If you are staying in the beautiful Sinis Peninsula, near Oristano, opt to visit Tharros, a stratified site that you can easily reach from San Giovanni di Sinis (home to yet another beautiful beach).

Sardinia is also a fantastic wine destination. Opt to do wine tasting in one of the many wine estates on the island. If you are staying in the south, head straight to Serdiana (a 20 minutes drive from Cagliari) and visit Argiolas, Pala or Audarya wineries.

If you are in Alghero, Sella & Mosca is the most famous winery around (and the largest wine maker in Sardinia). The Gallura area, near the glitzy Costa Smeralda, is famous for its Vermentino wines. Surrau, close to Arzachena, offers wine tasting experiences overlooking the vineyards.

Many may have a different opinion, but all locals will agree that July is by far the best month to visit Sardinia if you want to experience its stunning beaches.

While July tends to be hot on the Mediterranean island, this is when the sea water is finally warm enough to pleasantly swim in it. The days remain quite long and you can enjoy a full day at the beach (whereas in September, by 4:30 pm it starts getting chilly at the beach).

July’s temperature is on average around 89°F during the day, however you can expect hotter days with temperatures of more than 104°F when heat waves hit the island. Thank goodness for the beaches! The chances of rain are virtually non-existing, though it can get quite windy.

Reaching Sardinia is quite easy and you have the option to fly to Cagliari, the capital, or to Alghero Fertilia or Olbia Costa Smeralda’s airport. Each is connected to mainland Italy and a variety of other destinations in Europe via regular and budget flights.

If you are coming from the other side of the world, you can get a connecting flight usually via Milan or Rome.

Claudia from Strictly Sardinia says, “Sardinia is a fairly large island, and you will have endless accommodation options. The key, if you plan to visit in July, is to book your hotel or apartment well in advance and no later than February if you want a good deal!

In La Maddalena, plan to stay at the Villa del Parco . It’s a nice apart-hotel that serves a delicious daily breakfast and offers lots of services including boat rides around the archipelago.”

best city in July to visit in Europe

Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh is a lively and enchanting city that seamlessly blends old medieval charm with modern infrastructure. It is a fantastic European city to visit in July.

This capital city of Scotland has endless stunning architecture and quaint cobblestone streets with unique shops. Edinburgh is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the rich culture and heritage of Scotland.

Edinburgh is filled with plenty of exciting experiences, especially for those seeking to indulge in the medieval history of the city. One experience rich in culture is a visit to the Edinburg Castle.

The ancient fortress set upon Castle Rock, has stood the test of time, towering over the city. The castle was built in the 11 th century and visitors can spend hours exploring the walled fortress.

Another fun experience is to venture on a walk through Holyrood Park, to visit the famous Athur’s Seat . Legend has it, this extinct volcano was home to the mythical location of King Arthur’s Camelot.

July is the best time to explore the streets of Edinburgh. Not only is it the warmest time of the year, but July in Edinburgh signifies the beginning of festival season.

While many take place in early to late August, July begins with the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival. Carnival and the Edinburgh Food Festival also take place in the later weeks of July, showcasing fantastic music and delicious treats!

Weather in Edinburgh is unpredictable, even at the best of times. Expect average highs of 65 F during July. You can expect around 2.2 inches of rain over 9 days.

The Edinburgh International Airport is one of the busiest in Scotland, providing both domestic and international services. Buses, trams, and trains are available and easily connect Edinburgh to various cities throughout Scotland. It takes 30 minutes to reach the city centre from the airport via the tram.

Deirdre from Build And Board Travel says, “There are lots of great places to stay in Edingburgh .

Hanover 71 Suites would be excellent as it’s centrally located and close to all the popular attractions. The hotel is set above a small café and each room is bright and spacious. “

best July vacation destination in Europe

Andros, Greece

Andros is the second largest of the Greek Cycladic Islands, but it’s more like the island of Evia than its close neighbours of Tinos and Mykonos . Think ancient walking paths, lush vegetation, springs, waterfalls and neoclassical mansions rather than arid landscapes and whitewashed, sugar-cube buildings.

Although Andros is known for its well-preserved networks of ancient paths, you might prefer a gentle stroll around historic Chora in July. Meander through the pedestrian streets of the medieval castle and then retreat to a spot under the plane trees in the capital’s shady square. If you’re feeling energetic, you can clamber up the castle’s remains.

Take a picture from the island’s most popular spot next to the fairytale lighthouse in the sea.

Andros is one of the best beach destinations in Europe in July. You’ll certainly want to spend some time at one of the island’s beautiful sandy beaches. Golden Sand Beach is popular, as is family-friendly Batsi.

Tis Grias To Pidima is one of Greece’s most famous beaches thanks to the clear turquoise waters and the stone column that rises out of the sea. It’s a little tricky to get to but worth the effort.

July is a great month to visit Andros since you’ll have access to the most facilities and services. Being much less touristy than other islands in the group, you’ll enjoy a more authentic Greek experience, especially if you join in the festivities and celebrations for Saint Marina on 17th July.

July is a warm and dry month in Andros. The average daytime temperature maxes out at around 82.4°F with very pleasant sea temperatures of 77°F.

To get to Andros, you’ll need to fly into Athens International Airport and then get a ferry from Rafina Port. Rafina is only about 20 minutes from the airport, so it’s an easy transfer. From there, you can reach the island in as little as 65 minutes.

Suzie from Buckelist My Life says, “In terms of accommodation, you can get away from it all at Ow Andros Luxury Suites above Gavrio Port , close to Fellos Beach. The suites are set in a quiet location with gardens and personal spa pools.

If you prefer to be more central, Hotel Perrakis is a favourite with lovely views over Kipri Beach.

For stays in Chora, Micra Anglia is an elegant boutique hotel and spa with wonderful service.”

best July getaways in Europe

Vienna, Austria

From the stunning palaces to the incredible food markets and classical music history (it’s the home of Mozart after all), Vienna is a wonderful European city to visit in July.

Head to the gardens of Schonbrunn Palace to marvel at this treasure trove of manicured lawns, statutes, and excellent views over the city.

If you’re in the mood for some architecture, visit one of the best free things to do in Vienna , St. Stephen’s Cathedral, which dazzles with its mosaic roof tiles that sparkle in the sun.

And, of course, since you’re visiting at the height of the summer, you’ll want to bring your swimsuit to enjoy the bathing beaches or play in the water playground at Danube Island, which is right in the heart of Vienna.

There are also plenty of museums, walking tours, and historic monuments featuring everyone from Sigmund Freud to Beethoven.

July is a great time in the city for visitors because many of the locals have headed out for their summer holidays, leaving the city a playground for those wanting to experience it as a guest. Open air opera is popular in this month, as well as lots of outdoor markets to take advantage of the weather.

With highs of 81 degrees and an average of around 75 degrees, you’ll be warm, but comfortable. July is the second warmest month in Vienna. You’ll avoid the peak temperatures while still being able to wear shorts and short sleeve shirts for the ultimate European summer vacation experience. That leaves more room in your suitcase for souvenirs!

Vienna is well-connected, including from the airport to the center of the city. Fly directly into Vienna International Airport, which is only 16 minutes by regular train to the city center.

Girl Gone London says, “Looking for the best place to stay? The Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront has fantastic amenities and a great location right on the Danube with an open-air riverside pool.”

best july escape in Europe

Nerja, Spain

Nerja in Spain is the perfect July destination and a great time to visit and enjoy the beaches Jbefore the busiest month of the year takes over. The bustling town has it all, fabulous shopping and a whole heap of restaurants and cafés, as well as delightful ice cream shops on every corner.

There are beautiful beaches within walking distance from the old town too, like Calahonda Beach and Caletilla Beach. A little further down the coast, you reach Burriana Beach which is where you will find all the water activities which are among the best things to do in Nerja .

Whether you want to snorkel, rent a kayak, or paddleboard, make sure you explore the mesmerizing coast of Maro-Cerro Gordo Natural Park. The crystal clear water and rugged cliffs make for the perfect scenery, and where else in Europe will you witness a waterfall cascading into the sea?

Nerja Caves is another important tourist attraction in Nerja. The prehistoric cave system is home to the largest stalagmite in the world and a must-see when visiting.

July is also a perfect month to hike Rio Chillar, a magical river hike taking you in the river through a narrow ravine.

Temperatures are mild compared to other parts of Spain with an average high of 86 degrees Fahrenheit, great to walk around in shorts and a T-shirt in the evenings too.

Like the rest of the Costa del Sol, Nerja sees 320 days of sun a year. July usually does not have any rainy so you are guaranteed to get your summer tan.

The closest airport is Malaga International Airport (AGP). There are buses from Malaga to Nerja that only take an hour and a half. By car, it takes 50 minutes.

Linn from Amused By Andalucia says, “The best place to stay in Nerja is by far the old town . However, for a unique stay, check in at Parador de Nerja which is located right between Nerja Old Town and Burriana Beach. This gives you access to the two best parts of town from your hotel. There is actually an elevator taking you straight down to the beach.”

best July trip in Europe

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam is one of those places that people head to all year round, but if you want to visit this European city at its best, you should really head there in July. The weather is warm enough that you don’t have to wear a jacket. In addition, all the outdoor attractions and festivities are usually scheduled in summer, so you will arrive just in time.

Try to time your week in Amsterdam towards the beginning of July. This way you can enjoy the weather and skip the worst of the crowds.

Wondering what to do while you are here? There are a host of activities that you can indulge in but the top recommendations include taking a canal cruise so you can see this beautiful city from a different perspective.

If you prefer museums, then head to Rijksmuseum, the National Museum of the Netherlands dedicated to Dutch art and history. It houses masterpieces by Rembrandt, Vermeer and Van Gogh.

Of course, a visit to the city would be incomplete without seeing where Anne Frank and her family hid from the Nazis in World World II. The house is remarkably intact and will chill you to see how they had to live.

You really can’t go wrong with the food in the city. Make sure to try the iconic Dutch fries. They are delicious!

Average highs in July are 70 °F with 2 inches of rain over 9 days.

One of the reasons why Amsterdam is so practical is because it has an international airport on the outskirts of the city. This is connected not just to other cities in the European Union but to many other countries across the world. Plus, the airport is just a half hour train journey to the city center.

Penny from Globe Trove says, “I would recommend checking out Hotel Estherea. It’s a luxury hotel that is located really close to the Dam square which means that you can walk to all the most interesting parts of the city.”

best cities in July to visit in Europe

Ljubjana, Slovenia

Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia and the most vibrant city in the country. The best thing about Ljubljana is that it is not yet part of the mainstream European travel itineraries. This means you get to explore the best things in town without having to wait in lines or fight for the best photo spots. It is one of the best European places to visit in July.

The first thing you have to do in Ljubljana is visit Ljubljana Castle . Located on the top of the hill, overlooking the center, it is one of the most well-preserved castles in Europe. It is fairly small, so you can visit it in only 2-3 hours. The castle is also one of the best places to watch the sunset.

Another great thing to do in Ljubljana in July is go on a boat cruise in the Ljubljana River. There are several standard boat tours that will take you up and down the central part of the river, or you can opt to explore it on a kayak or stand-up paddle boat tour. Going on a river tour is an amazing way to see Ljubljana from a different angle.

Ljubljana is a great city to visit during July because there are always a lot of events happening in the city. One of the most popular ones is the night film festival at the Ljubljana Castle in July/August every year, with an open-air cinema inside the castle walls.

Average highs in Ljubljana in July is 80 F. It gets quite hot during the day but the night can bring a slight chill. It is common to have occasional rain showers in July (2.8 inches of rain over 9 days), but they normally last less than 30 minutes, enough time to visit a cafe and get a drink until it passes.

Ljubljana International Airport is only 30 minutes from the city. However, most visitors tend to combine their visit to Slovenia with some of the neighboring countries and fly to Zagreb or Venice instead. You can then drive, get a shuttle or train from each of those cities into Ljubljana. If driving, it takes 1h30 from Zagreb and 2h40 from Venice.

Fernanda from Mauka Travels says, “The best area to stay in Ljubljana is within the historical city center, so you will be able to explore the whole city on foot. We recommend Hiša Pod Gradom, it is a small B&B with great accommodation, easy parking, and an incredible Slovenian restaurant below.”

best European holidays in July

London, England

London’s calling all year round, but especially so in July when London is basically one big party! With long sunny days, music festivals seemingly every weekend, and lovely sun kissed strolls along the River Thames on offer, you’d struggle to find a more enjoyable European holiday in July.

Start your trip by exploring the iconic Tower of London. This World Heritage Site has been standing since 1097, and it has more than its fair share of tales to tell. Marvel at the dazzling Crown Jewels, walk the footsteps of kings and queens, and meet the famous ravens. You can’t miss it!

London can be super expensive , there’s no doubt about it, and prices do get even more expensive during summer. There’s one way to easily visit London on a budget, though – take advantage of all the free things to do there!

Many of the city’s top museums, including the British Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the Imperial War Museum, are all free. What’s more, London has over 3,000 parks. Having a summer picnic in the park is one of the most enjoyable free things to do in London in summer.

So what makes July extra special in London? The city’s festival scene comes alive! London Pride is one of the biggest pride parades in the world, with seemingly the entire city turning up to celebrate.

The British Summer Time Hyde Park concert series is another unmissable festival, when some of the world’s top musicians take to Hyde Park to perform.

Weather-wise, you’re in for a treat. In July, the average temperature in London floats around the mid-70s Fahrenheit. While you can expect the occasional drizzle, and also the occasional heatwave, these both typically only last a couple of days.

Getting to London is a breeze, since you have five international airports to choose from, all of which have train and bus connections to the city centre. Your flight will probably land at one of the major airports, Heathrow or Gatwick, with Heathrow being the largest and most international. From Heathrow, you can hop on the Heathrow Express, which will whizz you into central London in just 15 minutes.

Ella from Many More Maps says, “When it comes to accommodation, you’re spoiled for choice. Of course, if money is no object the iconic Ritz or Savoy hotels are the obvious choices. If, like most of us, you’re visiting London on a budget, CitizenM London Bankside is in the perfect location.”

best European vacations in July

Svaneti, Georgia

Svaneti, located in Georgia’s mountainous terrain, is a fantastic European vacation destination in July to escape the summer heat and revel in the beauty of the Caucasus Mountains range. This region, hailed as a hiker’s paradise, enchants visitors with cascading waterfalls, vibrant greenery, alpine lakes, deep gorges, snow-capped peaks, and ancient medieval defense towers.

Notably, Svaneti boasts the distinction of housing the ten highest peaks of the Caucasus range, making it the second-highest inhabited area in Europe. With its awe-inspiring vistas, the UNESCO World Heritage Ushguli community provides the perfect respite from the scorching temperatures prevalent in Georgia’s lowland cities.

While the area is renowned for its breathtaking hiking trails, there are a few things to do in Mestia , the central town, beyond hiking-related activities.

Cultural enthusiasts will find plenty of intrigue in Mestia’s museums, providing a deeper understanding of Svaneti’s rich heritage. The Svaneti History and Ethnography Museum exhibit extraordinary artifacts from archaeological excavations, painting a vivid picture of the region’s past.

Moreover, the house museum of Mikheil Khergiani, the pioneering Georgian Alpinist known as the “tiger of rocks” for his unique climbing technique, offers an enthralling insight into the world of mountaineering.

Svaneti gets closed off in winter, making it an extra special destination to visit in Europe in July. The average temperature during the summer typically ranges from an evening cool of 59°F to a daytime of 77°F.

Mestia is 290 miles (466 km) away from Tbilisi, the capital of Georiga. Therefore, you must first fly to Tbilisi and then use public transport (domestic flight, train, or shared minibus) to get to Mestia. The best way to get there is to take a train to Zugdidi and then change to a minibus to Mestia.

Baia from Red Fedora Diary says, “There are lots of accommodation options in Mestia, including hotels and guesthouses that suit any budget. A good options is to stay at Gistola Hotel Mestia, a 4-star hotel with a modern design, well-equipped rooms, and proximity to the city center.”

best European getaways in July

Marbella, Spain

Marbella is the perfect European beach getaway in July for anyone looking to enjoy a seaside vacation in one of the most beautiful resort areas of the Costa del Sol. With top-rated beach clubs, world-class golf courses, fine dining restaurants, fantastic scenery featuring impressive mountains and pristine beaches, it is easy to see why Marbella became a popular year round destination in Southern Spain.

If you decide to visit Marbella, don’t miss out on walking around the whitewashed houses of Old Town and soak up the vibrant atmosphere at Orange Square (Plaza de los Naranjos) where locals meet up for snacks and drinks every day.

Up for some luxury? Then head to Puerto Banus, the exclusive suburb of Marbella, a playground for the rich and wealthy where you can admire sports cars, luxury yachts and shop until you drop in high-end boutiques and designer stores. Keep your eyes open because you might see some celebrities here!

If you love outdoor activities, you will want to try underwater sports and meet the area’s marine creatures. You do not need to be a scuba diver though. The sea along Marbella’s coastline is shallow and clear so you only need a mask and snorkel to see underwater.

Nagüeles Beach, a popular beach along Marbella´s famous “Golden Mile” area, is one of the best places to go snorkeling in the Costa del Sol . You can see colorful fish, octopus, cuttlefish, sea stars and sea urchins.

Those who prefer mountains more than beaches can hike La Concha, Marbella’s impressive 4000 ft (1200 meters) high, shell-shaped mountain peak. It is a beautiful hike with fantastic views of the coastline so if you want to immerse yourself in nature instead of being in the city, it is a must-do!

Other than great weather, July is the best time to visit Marbella as the town gets lively but not too crowded. You can stroll down the coast, enjoy the area’s beaches and explore the surrounding attractions.

Being sheltered by the Sierra Blanca Mountain range, Marbella enjoys a special microclimate characterized by warm winters and cool summers. Thanks to the protective effect of the surrounding mountains, extreme weather conditions are rare. It does not get too cold in winter nor too hot in summer.

July is the best month to visit Marbella. While Spain’s popular cities and islands might suffer from heatwaves, there is perfect beach weather in Marbella. Average daytime temperatures are 77-82 °F with a pleasantly warm yet still refreshing sea temperature of 73°F.

Marbella is situated in the Andalusia region, in the Province of Malaga, just an hour’s drive from Malaga Airport. You can get to the town by using public transportation (Avanza Bus offers a shuttle service between the airport and Marbella’s main bus station), but consider renting a car so you can freely move around.

Annett from Snorkel Around The World says, “My recommendation is to find seaside accommodation so that you can be within walking distance of the beach and can go anytime for a refreshing swim. As it’s a huge resort town, there are tons of options in all price categories.

For luxury-seekers, Marbella Club Golf Resort & Spa is a great choice with an impressive collection of well-equipped rooms, suites and villas.

If you are looking for a budget-friendly option, consider staying at Ona Alanda Club Marbella . It is a bit older property but well maintained, a lovely place for families.”

best united kingdom destination in July

North Norfolk Coast, England

The North Norfolk coast is a wonderful place in Europe to visit in July. The weather will be glorious, showing off the huge skies and vast beaches at their best. There will be opportunity to swim, paddle and sail, then hike the coastal path, as well as enjoy all of Norfolk’s traditional holiday activities. Bucket and spade anyone?

Head for the Victorian seaside town of Cromer, with its’ iconic pier, RNLI station and the chance to try the very Norfolk pastime of crabbing – the art of catching crabs on a line with bait.

Just along the coast is Blakeney, with it’s own nature reserve that is home to the UK’s largest seal colony. Take a boat trip to Blakeney Point to see the seals basking in the summer sun.

The trio of Holkham Hall, Blickling and Felbrigg Hall offer stately home grandeur and history amongst the fields of wheat and rape seed. All have superb gardens to admire and enjoy.

July is also a great time to sample all of Norfolk’s delicious local produce, including Cromer crab and lobster, mussels from Brancaster and Stiffkey and oysters from the salt marshes around Thornham. Taste these delicacies with locally grown samphire, known as ‘asparagus of the sea’.

In July, Norfolk enjoys balmy temperatures if 22°C / 72°F and little rain. In fact, East Anglia is the driest county in the whole of the UK. But, do pack a showerproof jacket and umbrella as showers can happen – this is England after all!

London Stansted Airport is an easy 2 hour direct train ride from historic Norwich, Norfolk’s capital and only city, which is well worth a visit.

Izzy from Norfolk Travel Guide says, “Stay on the North Norfolk coast at the stylish boutique Globe Inn . It is located at Wells-next-the-Sea, one of North Norfolk’s most popular seaside towns with a superb beach, and a fantastic base for exploring the wider region.”

best European escapes in July

Loften, Norway

Lofoten is Norway’s captivating arctic archipelago and an amazing European trip in July if you enjoy nature. Imagine an untamed paradise where towering mountains meet sapphire seas, where pristine beaches mingle with timeless fishing villages. That’s Lofoten for you – a place where nature’s grandeur is on full display.

Hiking in Lofoten is a must. The trek up Reinebringen, while challenging, rewards you with an unbelievable sight of a sea studded with emerald islands.

And what better way to immerse in local culture than trying your hand at fishing? There’s a unique joy in catching your own cod, just as the locals have been doing for generations.

Don’t miss Henningsvær, the “Venice of Lofoten.” This small village is an art-lover’s dream with its vibrant art scene and numerous galleries to explore.

July in Lofoten is special, thanks to the ‘Midnight Sun Marathon.’ Runners from around the world flock here to run under the mystical midnight sun – a unique and unforgettable experience.

Despite its Arctic location, Lofoten surprises with mild weather in July, averaging around 55°F with about 3″ of rain over 11 days.

The summer spectacle of the ‘midnight sun’ is a sight to behold – the sun doesn’t fully set, instead casting a magical golden light across the landscapes.

Your journey starts at Harstad/Narvik Airport, Evenes. From there, a scenic three-hour drive brings you to Lofoten. Alternatively, you can catch a bus or ferry, both offering picturesque routes to the islands.

Sarah from Travel Osio says, “Consider Hattvika Lodge in Ballstad for your stay – a comfy, conveniently located lodge with stunning views.

For a more traditional stay, a Rorbu – a fisherman’s cottage – offers a unique insight into the local way of life .”

best European trips in July

Split, Croatia

Located on the coast of Croatia, Split is the second largest city in Croatia. It offers numerous beaches from which to choose as well as islands to explore. It is one of the best European escapes in July.

Voted one of the best beaches in Split, Kasuni Beach is great for sunbathing and swimming in the gorgeous blue-green crystal clear water. There are plenty of free spots or rent a sun bed or cabana at Joe’s Beach Bar.

There are countless day trips to nearby islands via boat leaving from the port of Split. The most popular islands to visit from Split are Brac, Hvar, and Korcula islands.

Organized tours offer the opportunity to visit their harbors and historical sights, go souvenir shopping, and enjoy an Aperol-Spritz or two port side or at a local patio. Typically these day trips include lunch at a local beach with watersport activities like swimming and paddle boarding.

Food tours are always a great way to learn more about a country, including the local customs and history, while sampling regional cuisines. There are countless food tour options in Split, Croatia, that venture throughout Green Market, Diocletian’s Palace, and the Old Town while tasting local wines, pastas, and fresh seafood.

Krka National Park, home to 7 cascading waterfalls, is a destination not to miss while visiting Split. Purchase tickets online to avoid long lines.

Enter the Park at Skradin and board a 30-minute ferry ride along the Krka River. After exiting the ferry, follow the primarily flat 1.18-mile-long trail to the waterfalls. The largest waterfall is Skradinski with beautiful greenish-blue falls.

With temperatures in the high 80s, minimal rain, and warm Adriatic Sea water (average high 70s), July is the best time to visit Split, Croatia.

If road-tripping throughout Croatia , Split is easily accessible by bus, car, and domestic flight from major cities, including Zagreb and Dubrovnik. You can also fly into Split internationally at Split Airport.

The fastest but most expensive way to reach the city center is a 30-minute drive via private transfer, taxi, car rental, or Uber. If looking to save money, opt for the 50-minute public bus ride (route number 37.)

Ashley from Adventuring With Ashley says, “On the beach, Radison Blu Resort and Spa offers 5-star amenities, including daily breakfast, poolside bar service, sun loungers and cabanas, multiple pools, and access to a white sand beach. The hotel also offers a shuttle service to and from the airport for a surcharge.”

best European destinations in nature in July

Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland

A great European trip in July is the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland .

This is a 1550 mile (2500km) driving route that snakes along the West coast of Ireland from the top of County Donegal to the bottom of County Cork. Created in 2014 to promote tourism along the west coast, this driving route is one of the longest coastal driving routes in the world.

Whether you start at the Old Head of Kinsale or in Maling Head, and even if you only drive part of it, you won’t be disappointed.

July is a wonderful time of year to drive all or part of the Wild Atlantic Way as you should have better weather than at other times of the year. With longer daylight as well, you will have plenty of hours in the day to cover miles and miles of beautiful coastal landscapes.

There are so many things to see and do along the Wild Atlantic Way, mainly because it passes through no less than nine counties in Ireland.

A must-see along the route are the sea cliffs which include the famous Cliffs of Moher, Slieve League cliffs which are some of the highest in Europe, and the lesser-known cliffs of Kilkee.

Another amazing thing to do along the Wild Atlantic Way is to drive the 177km Ring of Kerry. The outer section of this route follows the Wild Atlantic Way, and the route includes parts of Killarney National Park, Muckross Abbey, Ross Castle, and the Torc Waterfall.

Achill Island, in County Mayo, is a great place to stop along the route and one of its beaches at Keem Bay is where you might see basking sharks in the waters.

The Wild Atlantic Way is an epic trip to do in Ireland and should not be rushed. And no matter how much of it you drive, you will be met with beautiful coastal scenery, pretty fishing villages, and always a good old Irish welcome.

The weather along the Wild Atlantic Way can be changeable. While July is typically one of the warmer (average daytime highs in Galway are 65F in July) and drier months of the year, rain can and does occur frequently (2.4 inches over 11 days in July). There is never a month to forget your raincoat when it comes to visiting Ireland.

To reach this part of Ireland you can fly into Cork, Shannon, or Dublin and then hire a car (you will need a car to explore this route). The distance from Dublin Airport to the Old Head of Kinsale is 186 miles (300km) or about 4 hours of driving. If you are trying to explore Ireland without a car, this route is not for you.

Cath from Travel Around Ireland says, “Along the route, there are plenty of accommodation options from hotels, castle hotels, hostels, and even glamping. Whatever your preference, you are sure to find something to suit your accommodation needs.”

best European beach destination in July

Faro, Portugal

One of the most underrated places to visit in Europe in July is Faro, the capital of the Algarve in Portugal. As it hosts the only international airport in southern Portugal, it is usually the spot where travelers are rushing to other holiday resorts on the coast. However, Faro has a lot to offer and July is the perfect time of the year to go.

The city offers a vibrant nightlife catering to all age groups. It has a charming old town with interesting attractions. In addition, it is located right on the edge of Ria Formosa Natural Park, making it a fabulous destination for walks and bird watching.

Faro Beach is protecting the marshes of the Natural Park and offers a long golden stretch of sand with beach bars lining it. One of the best things to do, however, is to go on one of the many Faro boat tours taking you to explore the barrier islands like Culatra and Armona islands.

These were used by tuna fishers back in the day, but now, there are still small fisherman settlements on them with some restaurants and wonderful beaches where you can relax for a bit before returning to the boat. There is also amazing snorkeling with one of the world’s largest seahorse populations.

Make sure you do not miss out on the bone chapel, the creepy chapel is decorated with thousands of human bones which is commonly seen in Portugal and Italy.

Average temperatures in July are 83 degree Fahrenheit with little to no rain.

It takes about 20 minutes to drive from Faro Airport to the city center. With the Airport Shuttle bus, it takes about 50 minutes.

Linn from Amused by Algarve says, “For a great stay, check in at Roots Hotel located in the Old Town.”

Brno, Czech Republic

Brno is the second largest city in the Czech Republic, and often overlooked in favour of the capital, Prague . Brno is a great July destination in Europe because of its vibrant atmosphere that takes over the streets during the warm weather.

The summer evenings bring pleasant temperatures and daylight until late, so one of the best things to do in Brno is join the locals and enjoy dinner al fresco at one of the many terraces in town.

All summer long, there are concerts taking place in St Jakob’s square, where you will have a chance to discover new Czech singers and bands.

Don’t miss having a fancy cocktail at one of the best bars in Brno . The city is known for the high quality themed bars, so get into character and head to Super Panda Circus for an immersive cocktail experience.

During the summer months, there is a direct train that connects the airport in Vienna to Brno. Alternatively, take the Flixbus from either the airport or the main bus station in Vienna.

Joanna from the World In My Pocket says, “A great place to stay in Brno is Hotel Passage . Located 10 minutes away from the city centre, it’s a four star hotel with great rooms and service.”

best national park to visit in Europe in July

Durmitor, Montenegro

The breathtakingly beautiful Durmitor National Park is located in the northwestern part of Montenegro . It is a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for spectacular mountain peaks, crystal clear glacial lakes, deep gorges, and dense pine forests.

Durmitor is one of the most spectacular places to visit in Europe in July with plenty of outdoor activities (hiking, white water rafting, kayaking, and birdwatching). You can also escape the coastal heat, and enjoy pleasantly warm mountain weather.

One of the best things to do in the National Park is drive Panoramic Durmitor Ring. The windy scenic road features the most spectacular landscapes in the country, including the gorgeous Sedlo Pass. You will also get to stop for plenty of photo opportunities, such as local settlements nestled in the valleys between dramatic mountains, shepherds with their flocks of sheep, and even herds of horses.

Hiking in Durmitor National Park is one of the main activities in the area during the summer. Part of the Dinaric Alps, the Durmitor mountain range is home to 48 peaks rising above 6500 feet (2000 meters), including Bobotov Kuk, the highest in Montenegro, which reaches 2523 meters. Conquering Bobotov Kuk is a must for trekking enthusiasts.

Unmissable in Durmitor National Park is Tara River Canyon which is the deepest in Europe (reaching 1300 meters), and the second deepest in the World! The most popular attraction with a fantastic viewing point is the iconic 5-aches Djurdjevica Tara Bridge that connects the two sides of Tara Canyon.

Adrenaline lovers will be thrilled that instead of walking across the bridge they can fly high on a zipline over the Tara River.

Finally, Crno Jezero (Black Lake) is the most well-known glacial lake located near Zabljak village. Visitors can enjoy the glassy reflections of the lake, walk around, or even row in the lake.

July offers pleasant 23 to 25 degrees Celsius (73 – 77 degrees Fahrenheit) weather temperatures during the day. Moreover, there is only 2 inches of rain over 8 days, making it an ideal time to visit Durmitor National Park.

best outdoor adventure destination in Europe in July

New Forest, England

New Forest is an ancient royal hunting ground and the largest forest in the south of England. A mixture of open heathland, deciduous and evergreen forests and rivers, it stretches down to the coast where it ends with sandy beaches. Famous for its free roaming wildlife, you can expect to see ponies, donkeys, pigs, cattle and deer wandering through the trees and down the narrow roads or snoozing peacefully in a sunny spot.

For most visitors, walking and cycling is what attracts them to New Forest. The whole forest is criss-crossed in cycle routes and paths where you can enjoy the silence and wildlife.

There are several activity centres where you can try your hand at water sports, sailing, bush craft and archery amongst other activities.

Beaulieu is a very popular destination in the forest for visitors, a large stately home with an extensive history which is now home to the National Motor Museum.

For those who like more noise and action, there is a large lake which is home to a waterpark with a massive inflatable course. Just on the edge of the forest is Paultons Park, a popular theme park with roller-coasters and assorted rides.

July is the best time to go. It is when you get the most events happening such as the New Forest show, beer festivals, village fairs and outdoor theatre and films.

July is a great time to visit the New Forest as temperatures are at their highest and the days are at their longest, meaning you can really get the most out of your time. The average temperature is about 71F making it the perfect weather for exploration and activities and if it gets too hot, the shade of the trees provides welcome relief.

Being England you can expect some rain (1.5 inches of 6 days), but it is usually short lived and a packable raincoat means you can keep on going.

New Forest is easy to reach from both Bournemouth and Southampton airports which are about 10 miles away. There are trains and buses, as well as main roads if you are driving.

Sarah from Slow Travel says, “Accommodation ranges from simple campsites to luxury hotels. Some of the large stately homes are now hotels and offer spas, swimming pools and 5 star service.

There is also a holiday park of chalets and caravans tucked amongst the trees which has three swimming pools and plenty of kids’ activities on offer.

For those who like a bit of nightlife, the town of Lyndhurst has a wide choice of restaurants and pubs as well as small hotels and B&Bs.”

best beach destination in Europe in July

Nice, France

If you’re looking for one of the best European destinations to visit in July, then head to Nice on the French Riviera.

You cannot miss walking on the Promenade des Anglais which stretches seven kilometers from Vieux Nice (Old Nice) to west Nice along the Mediterranean Sea.

Stroll around the narrow cobbled stone streets of Old Nice and admire the pastel historic buildings and linger in the squares. Walk up to Le Chateau (the castle) for the best views of the city and the crystal blue beaches.

Meander your way to the outdoor flower and farmers market at the Cours Saleya. It’s colorful displays makes it one of the most beautiful markets in all of Europe. It’s a must for anyone interested in the local food and cuisine Niçoise.

Taste socca in Nice . These delicious chickpea pancakes are unique to this area, and you’ll be hard pressed to find them elsewhere.

With both the Nice Classic Live Festival and the Nice Jazz Festival, July is also a great time for music lovers to visit Nice. Both festivals run over multiple days with lots of opportunities for live music.

In addition, July 14 is Bastille day and the whole country will be celebrating the day with fireworks and festivities. Nice puts on a good show!

With average temperatures between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, with little rain, the weather couldn’t be more perfect. That means you can see all of the sites in a moderate Mediterranean climate and enjoy time on the stunning beaches as well.

Nice has an international airport and train station which makes it easy to get to. Both are just a 10 minute bus or taxi ride to the center of town. Of course, this also makes Nice a great hub to explore the entire Côtes d’Azur.

Denise from Chef Denise says, “If you can wake up early to watch the sunrise from the Promenade, you will not regret it! Or better still, get a sea view room at the Hotel Negresco and watch it from there.”

best outdoor adventure spot in Europe in July

Ortisei, Italy

Ortisei (also called Saint Ulrich in German and Urtijëi in Ladin) is a small village tucked in the Val Gardena in northern Italy’s majestic Dolomites. It’s an excellent base for exploring the Dolomites, and a nice spot for an afternoon or full-day visit. It is also a wonderful European escape in July if you love the outdoors.

Ortisei will satisfy all types of travelers – from hikers and cyclists, to foodies and spa-lovers, and everyone in between. Couples, families, and solo travelers will all find a special activity in Ortisei.

While most visitors flock to the village for its excellent hikes (Alpe di Siusi, Seceda, and Resciesa can all be reached from Ortisei via cable car or funicular), the village also has a lively pedestrian area full of shops, and foodies will appreciate the choice of restaurants in and around Ortisei.

Those curious about the local Ladin culture can visit the museum in town (Museum Gherdëina). Holiday fans will want to check out the skilled woodworkers that carry on the traditional art and carve incredible figurines, holiday decorations, and presepi – Italian nativity scenes.

July is one of the best months to visit Ortisei – when the weather is warm and pleasant, but before the main crowds descend on the village in August.

It’s the perfect time to have an outdoor aperitivo in the evening, relax at the pool at your hotel, or participate in one of the many events organized by the village (guided hikes, yoga sessions, outings and workshops for kids, beer festivals, night shopping, and outdoor art exhibits).

July temperatures can be toasty – but in general, the temperatures range from the high 50s to the low 70s. Expect late-afternoon or early-evening thunderstorms to make occasional appearances, and when you’re out on the trail, always be ready for a change of weather.

To reach Ortisei, look at flight options from Innsbruck, Verona, Venice, Milan Malpensa, and Munich and then travel by train to Bolzano. From Bolzano, you can rent a car, take a taxi, or travel on the excellent public bus network to reach Ortisei (45 minutes).

Candice at Mom In Italy says, “Looking for luxury? Stay at the Adler Spa Resort and enjoy the outdoor pool area and green space and spa. Otherwise, the village is full of B&Bs, comfortable hotels, and apartment rentals.

If you’re traveling with kids, check out one of the Dolomites’ most famous family resorts – Cavallino Bianco.”

There are many wonderful places to visit in Europe in July. From beach destinations, city escapes, mountain retreats, and cultural hot spots, you will have your choice of amazing July holiday getaways.

Best of the East

Such a fun and alternative trip to take! We went to Prague, Poland, Budapest, and Austria. Even though it was one of the coldest weeks, our tour guide made it beyond enjoyable. She had so many suggestions of places to go and all were great. My favorite stop was Krakow, Poland, what a beautiful city and so much fun. I had an absolute blast while on this trips, the tour guide were energetic, fun, and knowledgeable, the trip was well run and flexible which I enjoyed, the company had optional activities set up for us which was nice to not feel pressured to do them if you wanted to explore on your own. The accommodations were always comfy and clean and the buses we took for all the trips were enjoyable and filled with fun movies to watch. I would highly recommend traveling with Euroadventures, their attention to detail, responsible yet fun guides, and flexible, activities filled schedule are all beyond worth it.

The Best of Eastern Europe

This was a great tour made wonderful by our tour guide Zdenka. She knew these countries so well, she wanted us to see everything possible and she made it happen! Our bus driver, Gaspy, kept us safe and on time. Would recommend this tour, you learn so much and the countries visited were so beautiful and welcoming. This is the first time that Globus gave us a couple small, quirky new hotels that were not comfortable. Please Globus stick to regular hotels that have great staff. if the hotels are far from city center please give us transportation there and back on our afternoons off whenever possible.

Breakfast was marginal in many places, a toaster would help a lot. in Videilla Tranovo Coffee was so bad as to be undrinkable, cold, strong instant. Guide was spectacular, knowledgeable, fun, organized and patient. He Made the trip. Hotels were clean and adequate for the stays. We spent most days with a tour and then free time for exploration. Transit was as done by the locals so while not great in some places, it was a fair immersion in the environment.

What people love about Eastern Europe Tours in July

It was good we enjoyed
To be honest, part of what made the trip fantastic was our group of 12- could not have had a better group to travel with- which is clearly luck, but a piece of our group being so cohesive was Nejca, our guide. She was perfect! Available but not pushy. Laid back, but willing to assert herself to make our experience the best. She made each person in the group feel special and appreciated. Thank you, Nejca! The itinerary was quite good as well. Although there were places I could have stayed for a day longer, I think it’s important to not stay too long and feel like time is wasted on a certain place on the tour. Transportation was efficient and Nejca did a great job getting us to our destinations easily and without rushing. Accommodations were very good- with the exception of Prague. Although our apartment was nice, it was clear that the residents of Prague feel that their space is being taken over by tourists- which is clearly true. I would have preferred to have stayed in a hotel in Prague-honestly, I would have paid more for it. Other than that, cannot day enough good things about the trip! Thank you!!

Most awaited European concert tours happening

Posted on Last updated: 6 January 2024

Home » Music » Most awaited European concert tours happening

If Rolling Stones and Garth Brooks had the most successful music tours in 2021, this year, we’ve got even more exciting names that will perform amazing shows. But other approaching tours are expected to occur around Europe in places where the whole world will gather.

If you want to get tickets and ensure your place on these tours, purchasing them early is best. At the same, ensuring you’ve got accommodation and learning how to get around these cities is essential, especially if you’re coming from the US, Asia or other areas. If you’re into a particular artist, you can follow their socials and get early access to some of their concerts’ locations at a lower price.

Let’s get into it!

europe tour july 2023

Coldplay is one of the most known rock alternative bands around the world, most famous for songs such as Speed of Sound, Clocks or Viva la Vida. The London-based group was rewarded with multiple Grammys, and people compare its style with Radiohead and Oasis.

In 2023, Coldplay is doing a worldwide tour around Europe, the USA and Latin America. The concerts will start on the 17th of May in Portugal and will end on the 1st of October in the United States. The American locations are pretty near to each other, so if you’re coming from Boston, you might need to leave your car at the Boston Logan airport parking .

Here are the European countries where Coldplay will sing:

 • Portugal (17-21 May)
 • Spain (24-28 May)
 • United Kingdom (31st May-7th June)
 • Italy (21-29 June)
 • Switzerland (1st and 2nd of July)
 • Denmark (5th and 6th of July)
 • Sweden (8-12 July)
 • Netherlands (15-19 July)

Metallica is one of the oldest rock bands in the world since it was founded in 1981. With multiple hits and impressive songs, Enter Sandman got to the top of the “ 500 Greatest Songs of all Time ”, while Nothing Else Matters entered the Billboard 200 as number one shortly after its release.

The 2023 Metallica world tour will primarily take place around Europe, but locations such as the US, Canada and Mexico are also on the list. The closest date to seeing Metallica is on the 13th of April in the Netherlands , but here are some other countries where you can find them:

 • France (17-19 May)
 • Germany (26-28 May)
 • United Kingdom (the 8th of June)
 • Finland (7-9 June 2024)
 • Poland (5-7 June 2024)
 • Spain (12-14 July 2024)
 • Mexico (20-29 September 2024)

The closest date to see Metallica in the US is on the fourth and sixth of August in East Rutherford. The nearest airport is in Boston, where you can get Logan airport parking in case you want to leave your car somewhere safe.

Depeche Mode

Depeche Mode is yet another old but gold band founded in 1980 that mainly focuses on post-punk, synthpop and industrial rock. The group originated from the UK and is currently on the list of “50 Bands that changed the world” and “100 Greatest Artists of All Time”.

Regarding the tour, Depeche Mode will get across the whole world, so you don’t have to worry about missing them. Most Big European cities were chosen as concert locations, while Canada, the US and Mexico are also on the list. Here’s where to get your ticket:

 • Netherlands (16-18 May)
 • Belgium (the 29th of May)
 • Germany (4-6 June)
 • Spain (the 8th of June)
 • France (22-24 June)
 • Romania (26th July)
 • Poland (2-4 August)

Bruce Springsteen

The American singer and songwriter Bruce Springsteen is known for his long-lasting and energetic concerts as well as impressive lyrics. Many of his singles reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 10, and almost all his albums were successful during his career.

His concert tour is not that expanded since, besides the US, Canada, Ireland and the UK, only a few European locations are set to be the locations for his concerts, like:

 • France (13-15 May)
 • Netherlands (25 and 27 May and the 11th of June)
 • Denmark (11-13 July)
 • Germany (the 21st of June and 15 and 23 July)
 • Austria (the 18th of July)

You can buy the tickets directly from his website, but some might need to be searched for on other third-party ticket vendors. Springsteen stated that he’s excited to see his “great and loyal fans” as he always valued the public.

Hans Zimmer

Hans Zimmer is famous for his unique soundtrack contribution to the most known movies and adaptations. He’s the one who composed music for The Lion King, Dune and The Last Samurai . Hans reached the list of Top 100 Living Geniuses.

In 2023, Hans Zimmer will be present mostly around Europe in the following cities:

 • Germany (the 23rd of April, the 9th of June)
 • Belgium (the 25th of April and the 22nd of June)
 • Italy (1-3 May)
 • France (6-9 May and 23-25 June)
 • Portugal (the 13th of May)
 • Spain (11-16 May)
 • Switzerland (22-23 May)
 • Poland (the 30th of May)
 • Czech Republic (the 2nd of June)
 • Austria (the 3rd of June)
 • Hungary (the 5th of June)
 • Slovakia (the 6th of June)
 • UK (14-16 June)
 • Ireland (the 18th of June)

How to prepare for traveling to Europe

If you’re outside the European Union, you might need to get your visa in check and analyze the price exchanges. While some European countries are relatively affordable, some leverage expensive accommodation and food, such as Austria, for example. At the same time, getting an adaptor and power strip might come in handy, as European adaptors are different from American ones.

What’s best in Europe is that you can get everywhere with cheap public transportation . Trains, buses and trams are everywhere so you won’t have to pay for taxis. The locals are usually welcoming, but it would be best to respect their culture and not be loud around cities. However, if you want to party before or after concerts, know that European bars and clubs are like no other!

The EU in 2023: Succeeding amidst challenging times

Collage of pictures including a photo of a small robot; a photo of female scientist; a photo of rescue services; a photo of an old lady with a young girl; and a photo of a person on a wind turbine

At a time of increased geopolitical tensions, the EU has continued to successfully tackle the issues that concern Europeans most in 2023 , whilst remaining on track to deliver on the political priorities. That is according to the new edition of the EU General Report, which was published today.

The report looks at how we have responded to emerging and existing global challenges, with our ongoing, steadfast support for Ukraine being the highlight. We have provided over €88 billion in financial, humanitarian and military assistance, offered protection to over 4 million people fleeing from Ukraine to the EU and are ready to open accession negotiations.

It also looks to the Middle East and how we have responded to the drastic deterioration in the humanitarian situation of Palestinians, quadrupling humanitarian aid to over €100 million in the last year.

At home, the report emphasises the work done in staying the course on key EU priorities

 • continuing our economic recovery from the pandemic
 • boosting competitiveness and manufacturing capacity for the technologies and products required to meet our ambitious climate targets
 • putting in place the legal framework to cut emissions by 55 % by 2030 (a key milestone on the path to climate neutrality)
 • making progress in ending the EU’s reliance on Russian fossil fuels, thanks to the REPowerEU Plan, and in reforming the design of the EU’s electricity market, to protect consumers against price shocks
 • working on a first comprehensive law on Artificial Intelligence as part of Europe’s digital transition
 • strengthening social dialogue and progressing on new rules to improve working conditions of people working through digital market platforms
 • reaching an important milestone in overhauling our migration system.

The report is available in all official languages of the EU as a fully illustrated book and an online version which is available below.

7 Surprisingly Affordable Places To Retire in Europe

Posted: July 7, 2023 | Last updated: July 7, 2023

The good news is that if you do owe taxes to the U.S., you won't face the prospect of double taxation. In other words, if you already pay taxes to a foreign taxing authority, you can likely get a credit for those foreign taxes paid on your U.S. return.

There are two ways to go about offsetting foreign taxes paid: the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion and the Foreign Tax Credit. However, the details can get complicated, and you'll likely want to speak with a tax expert if you're using either of these tools to offset your U.S. taxes.

Filing Taxes as a Digital Nomad: What To Do When You Have No Primary Residence

Are you thinking that it might be time to retire , but you're not sure if you want to stay in the same city that you've been living and working in all these years? Perhaps your dream is to live out your golden years in Europe? Of course, European destinations -- for vacation, living or retirement -- are not known for being cheap.

"Europe is not only a tourist destination; it is also a retirement haven," said André Disselkamp, the Co-Founder of Insurancy . "With its low cost of living, rich culture and history, and friendly inhabitants, Europe provides an unrivaled quality of life."

"Remember that the cost of living will vary based on your lifestyle," Disselkamp cautioned. "But these places are an excellent place to start for anybody thinking about retiring in Europe. Finally, the ideal place to retire is a matter of personal desire and financial condition."

There are lots of safe bets for places to retire in Europe -- and some for under $2,000 a month . Plenty of expats are making the move to Europe for some well deserved R&R. GOBankingRates reached out to a few expats and retirement experts to find out some of the most affordable places to retire in Europe. Their answers might surprise you!

"Croatia is famous for its 'Fjaka' lifestyle, a word that roughly translates to 'the joy of doing nothing.' This relaxed way of life is perfect for retirees looking to unwind after their working years," Aragon shared. "Croatians are friendly, welcoming and have a high level of English proficiency, making it easier for expats to integrate. It's a joy to live in a place where people enjoy life, family, food and nature, and where they appreciate the importance of relaxation and recreation."
