Australia cricket schedule for 2023: Full list of Test, ODI and T20I fixtures in 2023

Australia are set to play 13 Tests, 14 ODIs and 8 T20Is between January 2023 and January 2024, including an away Ashes series as well as the 2023 men’s Cricket World Cup in India – below is the full Australia men’s cricket schedule for the next calendar year.

Australia cricket schedule 2023: January – July

Australia v south africa (home): december 2022 – january 2023.

South Africa will play three Test matches in Australia, including the Boxing Day fixture, with the final match after the New Year starting on January 4.

India v Australia (away): February – March 2023

A highly anticipated re-match in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after India’s historic victory in Australia in 2021 . The four match Test series will be followed by three ODIs as both sides prepare for the Cricket World Cup.

Afghanistan v Australia (away): March 2023

A brief three-match ODI series will follow Australia’s tour of India as part of the Cricket World Cup Super League . Australia have already qualified for the tournament, currently sitting third in the table.

England v Australia (away): June – July 2023

Australia are in a good position to make the final of the World Test Championship, currently at the top of the standings. If they do make the final, it will be played at The Oval in June 2023, and will be followed by the Ashes series. Australia haven’t won an Ashes in England since 2001, and will look to go one step further after they retained the Ashes on English soil in 2019 , drawing the series 2-2.

South Africa v Australia (away): August – September 2023

Just before heading out to India to warm-up for the Cricket World Cup, Australia will travel to South Africa for a limited overs series. Five ODIs will be followed by three T20Is.

India v Australia (away): September – December 2023

India will host Australia for three ODIs the week before the Cricket World Cup gets underway. Australia will be hoping to regain the title they won in 2015, after losing out in the semi-finals to England in 2019 . Following the conclusion of the tournament, Australia will stay in India for a five match T20I series as the focus shifts towards preparation for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Australia v Pakistan (home): December 2023 – January 2024

To close out the year, Australia will host Pakistan for a three-match Test series which will continue into the New Year. The hosts will be looking to follow up on their historic away victory in 2022 .

The British & Irish Lions have today released the nine-match schedule for the 2025 Tour to Australia including three Test matches against the Wallabies. Two years out from the Tour, it’s been confirmed that the eagerly awaited Test clashes will take place on 19 July, 26 July and 2 August. The Lions will travel to Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney respectively for the Test matches.

The British & Irish Lions will travel throughout Australia with games taking place in some of the most impressive stadiums in world sport.

The Lions will begin the Tour in Perth against the Western Force before facing fellow Australian Super Rugby Pacific sides, the Queensland Reds, the NSW Waratahs, and the ACT Brumbies. The Lions will continue their preparation for the first Test by facing an invitational Australian and New Zealand team in a clash at the Adelaide Oval.

Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium will host the first Test on Saturday 19 July. Following this, a midweek warm up fixture against Melbourne Rebels will take place at Marvel Stadium on Tuesday 22 July.

The second Test will be played on Saturday 26 July at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), which has a capacity of 100,000. A potential sell-out crowd at the renowned venue would be a record for a British & Irish Lions Test.

This Test would also represent one of the highest attendances at a rugby match in history. The final Test will be played in front of over 80,000 fans at Sydney’s Accor Stadium in Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday 2 August.

A strong partnership and a common goal between The British & Irish Lions, Premiership Rugby and the United Rugby Championship has resulted in the Lions having a two-week preparation period before the Tour commences, giving the Lions the best chance of regaining the Series on Australian soil, a country where they enjoyed their last tour win in 2013. Further detail around pre-tour activities, including a pre-tour warm up fixture, will be announced at a later stage.

Details on the Tour schedule follow the announcement of major commercial partners for the Tour, with The British & Irish Lions recently confirming global rugby brand Canterbury as official kit provider and the global insurance group Howden as official front of shirt/jersey sponsor . Confectionery brand Cadbury’s and sportswear manufacturer Asics will continue as the Wallabies official front of shirt and kit partners.

The 2025 Tour to Australia promises to be one of the most eagerly anticipated tours in history considering the absence of fans for the 2021 Tour of South Africa.

The Indian men’s hockey team will play five matches against Australia in Perth from April 6 to 13. Watch IND vs AUS live!

The Indian men's hockey team will face the Kookaburras in five matches as part of its 2024 tour of Australia. All five matches, to be live streamed, will be played in Perth, with the first scheduled this Saturday.

A tour against Tokyo 2020 silver medallists Australia in their own backyard will be a tough test for India and provide Craig Fulton’s men with the perfect opportunity to finetune their preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympics in July-August.

Fulton has named a full-strength 27-member Indian hockey team for the tour with star drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh as captain. Hardik Singh , who was named Hockey India’s Men’s Player of the Year for 2023, will be his deputy.

Performances during the tour Down Under will count for those eager to seal a spot in the final 16-member Indian team for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Both Australia and India have been drawn in Pool B of the men’s hockey tournament at Paris Olympics, with the two teams set to meet in their final group match on August 2.

The tour will also provide both teams a chance to measure each other up before the big meeting in France.

Currently, Australia are ranked fifth in the world hockey rankings while India are fourth.

The two teams have already squared off twice this year in the FIH Pro League. The Kookaburras won the first match 6-4 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

India held the Aussies to a 2-2 draw at the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela in the second fixture but ended up losing the bonus point shootout 3-0.

As the Paris Olympics 2024 are fast approaching, the Indian men’s hockey team is preparing for a Hockey Test series 2024 of warm-up matches from April 6 to April 13 in Australia. Hockey India’s tour to Australia in 2024 will feature India, currently ranked world no. 5, facing Australia in a five-match test series. The tour will conclude on April 13th.

The series in Australia will be crucial for preparation, as they will take on the defending Commonwealth Games Champion, Australia, in Perth, from April 6 to April 13, 2024.

This will be team India’s first competition since their participation in the Men’s FIH Pro League 2023-24 Indian leg. The Men in Blue currently stand third in the Pro League standings. The Indian team won two matches against Ireland and one match against Spain, lost one match to Australia, and four matches ended in a draw. Their final match was a high-scoring victory (4-0) against Ireland.

Harmanpreet Singh will lead a 27-member Indian team representing the country on the tour to Australia. Hardik, who was awarded the FIH Player of the Year in 2023, has been named the deputy captain once again.

Araijeet Singh Hundal and Boby Singh Dhami have been included in the team, thanks to their outstanding performances at the Men’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup 2023.

Indian men’s hockey team secured a spot for the Paris Olympics 2024 by winning a gold medal at the Asian Games in 2022. In the previous Olympics in Tokyo, the Indian team ended a 41-year medal drought by defeating Germany 5-4 to win the bronze medal.
