Metal band Five Finger Death Punch and country rock singer Brantley Gilbert are joining forces for a 22-date tour. The unlikely pairing will also be joined by Canadian country singer Cory Marks.
Although the genre-mashup might seem odd at first glance, the metal band fronted by Ivan Moody and Gilbert released a cover of Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s “Blue on Black” in 2019 that also featured Shepherd and Queen guitarist Brian May.
Produced by Live Nation, the co-headlining arena tour will begin on Nov. 9 in Grand Rapids, Mich., and close on Dec. 17 with a performance in Las Vegas. Five Finger Death Punch will be performing their forthcoming album, “Afterlife,” which is slated for release later this week (Aug. 19). See the full lineup of dates below.
Fan club pre-sale begins on Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. local time and the official sale will be starting on Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. local time.

Brantley Gilbert Joining Five Finger Death Punch for a Genre-Melding Fall 2022 Arena Tour
Hard rock and country worlds will collide this fall as Brantley Gilbert heads out on an arena tour with heavy metal group Five Finger Death Punch. The two acts will share a stage for a 22-date trek, which begins on Nov. 9 with a stop in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The two acts are by no means strangers: In 2019, they teamed up for a version of "Blue on Black," a song that was originally recorded by blues rockers the Kenny Wayne Shepard Band and covered by FFDP for their 2018 album And Justice For None . Before the official collaboration, Gilbert and his band sometimes covered the song during their live shows.
Their joint version of the song, which also features Queen's Brian May and benefits first responders via the Gary Sinise Foundation, garnered an impressive 110 million YouTube views and 69 million Spotify streams upon its release, affirming Gilbert and FFDP's appeal as a twosome. Plus, Gilbert's got a long history of mixing a little hard rock into his country: For one thing, he's currently in the midst of a short tour with rising country-rock act Jelly Roll .
Tickets for Gilbert and FFDP's arena tour go on sale on Friday (Aug. 19), but Five Finger Death Punch Fan Club members will have access to a special pre-sale starting on Tuesday (Aug. 16.) Country rocker Corey Marks will serve as opening act on the trek. Buy Brantley Gilbert tickets here.

ABOUT BRANTLEY GILBERT With back-to-back Platinum albums and a grassroots following millions strong, Brantley Gilbert’s music has been shared, covered and adopted as the soundtrack to Saturday night and Sunday morning by audiences around the world. The Georgia native who started as the defiant life-of-the-party can still go ‘til sunrise, but he’s also emerged as something far greater: the leader of a massive tribe of hard-working, fun-loving believers for whom electric guitar-shredding, rapping, and twang can go hand-in-hand-in-hand. They call themselves the BG Nation, and when the BG Nation watches Gilbert on a stage, they don’t just see a star. They see themselves. Seven No. 1 hits punctuate his career: “Country Must be Country Wide,” “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” CMA Awards Song of the Year nominee “Dirt Road Anthem,” “My Kinda Party,” RIAA 5x Platinum-certified “Bottoms Up,” “One Hell of an Amen” and collaboration with Lindsay Ell “What Happens In A Small Town.” Gilbert’s landmark record Just As I Am clinched the 2014 American Music Award for Favorite Country Album. Earning praise from the New York Times, NPR, American Songwriter, and more, Gilbert has mined a rich vein of conflict between the party and the pew on all of his albums. Instead of toiling in limbo, unable to enjoy good times for fear of Judgment Day, Gilbert fully lives––rowdy friend, man of faith, devoted husband, smitten new father––just as he is. His latest release “Son Of The Dirty South” featuring Jelly Roll is available now via The Valory Music Co., and the two embark on the Son Of The Dirty South Tour this summer before joining Five Finger Death Punch this fall for their co-headlining arena tour throughout the U.S. For tour dates, tickets and additional information, visit BrantleyGilbert.com or follow him Instagram and Twitter @BrantleyGilbert and Facebook.com/BrantleyGilbertMusic .

ABOUT BRANTLEY GILBERT
With back-to-back Platinum albums and a grassroots following millions strong, Brantley Gilbert’s music has been shared, covered and adopted as the soundtrack to Saturday night and Sunday morning by audiences around the world. The Georgia native who started as the defiant life-of-the-party can still go ‘til sunrise, but he’s also emerged as something far greater: the leader of a massive tribe of hard-working, fun-loving believers for whom electric guitar-shredding, rapping and twang can go hand-in-hand-in-hand. They call themselves the BG Nation, and when the BG Nation watches Gilbert on a stage, they don’t just see a star, they see themselves. Earning praise from the New York Times , NPR, American Songwriter , and more, Gilbert has mined a rich vein of conflict between the party and the pew on all of his albums.
ABOUT CORY MARKS
Cory Marks mixes country music's storytelling tradition and heavy rock's loud, unapologetic sounds. His debut, “Outlaws and Outsiders,” which features country music icon Travis Tritt, Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch, and Mick Mars of Mötley Crüe, was a global hit, going GOLD in Canada and receiving more than 87.8 million streams worldwide. With new music in the works and the upcoming horror-thriller film THE RETALIATORS, in which he has an onscreen role and two songs featured on the original soundtrack, Cory has just begun to make his mark on the music industry.

Five Finger Death Punch to Tour with Country Act Brantley Gilbert
Five Finger Death Punch vocalist Ivan Moody. By Anne Erickson
Five Finger Death Punch are teaming with some country acts for a fall North American trek
Are the guys of Five Finger Death Punch going country? Perhaps there’s a little truth to that, as the hard rock act has announced a fall co-headlining North American tour with country rocker Brantley Gilbert and special guest Cory Marks.
This isn’t Five Finger and Gilber’s first outing together. The two artists covered “Blue on Black” back in 2019 and toured then, as well. The cover also featured Queen guitarist Brian May and the song’s original artist, Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Proceeds raised from the track went to The Gary Sinise Foundation, which aids first responders.
The upcoming tour will set off in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Nov. 9, and run through a Dec. 17 show in Five Finger Death Punch’s hometown of Las Vegas. The band will also release their new album, “Afterlife,” on Friday (Aug. 19).
Tickets for the newly announced trek go on sale to the general public beginning Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. local time via Five Finger Death Punch’s website . Five Finger Death Punch is also on tour with Megadeth, The Hu and Fire From the Gods from Aug. 19 through Oct. 15.

Brantley Gilbert To Go on Tour With Five Finger Death Punch in Bold Crossover
Sometimes, country music needs a little bit of heavy metal. Brantley Gilbert is joining Five Finger Death Punch on tour, and I’m excited. Outsiders, this is the kinda thing that we should see more of. There is more in common between country and rock fans than most think. People tend to listen to more than one kind of music, after all. So, this ambitious crossover just might work out in the end.
This seems like a good gamble for both parties involved. I could see a lot of Brantley Gilbert fans getting into 5FDP after catching a live show. They are a band that instills energy and excitement into a crowd, and most importantly, they like to have a good time.
Brantley Gilbert Announces Tour
The fanbases are actually very familiar with one another. These two acts have worked together in the past on “Blue on Black,” and this is a continuation of that partnership.
“This is going to be EPIC!!” the country singer said on Instagram. “So excited to announce the guys from [5FDP] and I are headed out on TOUR! [BGNation] members get first access to tickets and VIP packages starting Tuesday at 10am. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday at 10am.” Those dates are for this week.
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Brantley Gilbert (@brantleygilbert)
Meanwhile, in their own post , Five Finger Death Punch revealed to their fans the new tour dates and addition.
“5FDP fans are familiar with [Brantley Gilbert] as we previously collaborated on our remake of [Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s] song ‘Blue on Black’ – While working on that song Kenny Wayne Shepherd himself jumped in and also the legendary [Brian May]… creating a multiple cross-genre collaboration. The song became a #1 hit single and was in support of the [Gary Sinise Foundation] benefiting Veterans.”
Sounds like a good time.
Fans Are Ready for This Tour
If you look at Brantley Gilbert’s replies on Instagram, it is clear where his fans fall on this. They LOVE it. It just feels like two groups that fit together despite their genre differences. If you had to take two fanbases, one country, and one heavy rock, and make them match – this is what you would ideally want.
Throughout the country music singer’s replies were comments about excitement and anticipation. We know where they stand, but what about 5FDP fans? Well, it’s a lot of the sea. It seems that these fans have really taken to Gilbert, or perhaps they just happen to fall into both camps. However, there are more naysayers in the replies over there than Gilbert’s.
The top complaint is that these two aren’t going to more dates and cities. Imagine that. Fans want to see these two on the stage live, and while there are a lot of great shows lined out, some fans might have to travel a little more than they would have hoped.

Five Finger Death Punch remain one of heavy music's most engaging live acts, in no small part because they combine hard rock, heavy metal and straightforward rock 'n' roll in aggressive, energetic ways. Frontman Ivan Moody wears his heart on his sleeve, making him a ferocious lead singer who isn't afraid to get real with his stage banter — and connect with the audience deeply during Five Finger Death Punch's stripped-down acoustic moments. Over the years, Five Finger Death Punch have toured with rock music's major players: In 2012, they headlined Metal Hammer's Trespass America Festival with opening acts such as Emmure, Pop Evil, Trivium and Killswitch Engage. 2015 found the band embarking on a co-headlining tour with Papa Roach. And 2018 brought a tour with Breaking Benjamin. The band has also appeared at the world's biggest and most respected rock festivals, including Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, Download Festival, Carolina Rebellion and Welcome to Rockville.
Combining the outlaw country of Eric Church with the blue-collar rock of Bruce Springsteen, Brantley Gilber t is one of the harder-edged names to emerge from the contemporary Nashville scene. The self-proclaimed small-town guy has also barely left the road since emerging in the late '00s, supporting the likes of Willie Nelson, Toby Keith and Tim McGraw, as well as headlining his own tours: 2012's Hell on Wheels, 2016's Take It Outside and 2018's The Ones That Like Me. As you'd expect, the Brantley Gilbert live experience is a loud and proud one, with his array of fist-pumping, foot-stomping anthems often accompanied by dazzling pyrotechnics, swirling lasers and LCD visuals.

5 cool things about Brantley Gilbert's country music spectacle at the Canton Civic Center
C ANTON − Country music artist Brantley Gilbert said some folks had questioned his decision to bring his "Off The Rails" tour to Canton.
But midway through Thursday night's performance, he addressed the question squarely to a nearly sold-out crowd of more than 4,000 at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.
"When people saw it on our schedule, they said, 'Why in the hell are you coming to Canton, Ohio?'" he said.
Pointing to a raucous crowd, the chart-topping singer-songwriter said wryly: "This is why ... we came to Canton, Ohio!"
That revved up the audience even more, a summation of Gilbert's rowdy show that featured an army of guitarists, new songs, classic country music and rock 'n' roll covers, while flames and smoke periodically shot into the air on stage and multi-colored lights projected from above and at floor level.
Energy never waned throughout the concert, starting with openers Demun Jones and Struggle Jennings , who both fuse rap and hip-hop with country music.
Country chart-topper: Brantley Gilbert talks Toby Keith, new music, faith
Here are five of the coolest moments of Gilbert's concert:
1. 'Bottoms Up' turns into a crowd singalong
"Bottoms Up" is one of Gilbert's biggest hits based on the nearly 300 million views the song and video have garnered on YouTube.
Thursday night's rendition was a crowd favorite, too. At one point, he stopped on the catwalk extending from the main stage and turned the microphone to audience members. Bouncing on his toes to the party anthem, he then pointed the microphone toward the entire crowd who sang along joyously.
No wonder the song made Rolling Stone's "Bro-Country's 30 Biggest Bangers " list in 2019.
2. Canton resident attends first concert ever
Waiting for Gilbert to take the stage, I turned to the woman next to me and started a conversation.
"Have you been here before?" I asked, referring to the Canton Civic Center.
"This is my first concert," 37-year-old Kelly Loder said matter-of-factly.
What? I was dumbfounded. Being a lifelong music lover and concertgoer, I thought I must have misheard the Canton resident. Nope.
"I've never been interested in seeing anyone before," Loder said flatly. "We heard Brantley was coming, and I said, 'We're going,' and it's close to home."
Not only did Loder attend the show, but she bought four tickets — a pair in the pit, as well as a second set in case she got tired of standing.
Judging by her rapt excitement during the first few songs, I'm assuming those seats went unfilled.
3. Fans get to hear what sounds like a future hit song
During a recent interview, the Georgia native promised he would be unveiling a few new songs that will appear on an upcoming album.
"Dirty Money" was the first one, a hard-charging, uptempo song featuring fierce guitar licks. But it was a slower new number, "Me and My House," a sentimental tune with an instantly catchy chorus that was first-listen great.
Gilbert introduced the song before playing it: "I'm not trying to project my way of life on you," he said earnestly. "... You know how to run your house. I just want to share how I run mine."
The new song is anything but a softy ballad, however. Both Demun Jones and Struggle Jennings joined Gilbert on stage, and they also will appear on the studio version. Interspersed with rapping and brawny yet melodic guitar playing, I'm eager to hear the tune when it's released.
Collaborations aren't new for Gilbert, who's teamed up on songs with Colt Ford, Toby Keith, Jason Aldean, Thomas Rett, Justin Moore, Willie Nelson, Jelly Roll and others.
4. Gilbert talks sobriety
Gilbert shared a message of sobriety with the audience.
Alcohol leads to problems for Gilbert personally. "I break out in handcuffs and bad decisions," he said to laughter from some people in the crowd.
Gilbert clarified his sobriety, adding that he likes to "smoke weed."
Telling his fans he now drinks vicariously through them, Gilbert launched into the festive song, "Bottoms Up."
5. Gilbert gets heavy with Collective Soul and Rage Against the Machine
Even before Gilbert took the stage, it was clear he was partial to hard rock.
While his crew readied the stage and uncovered a massive drum kit, AC/DC's "Back in Black" screamed from the sound system.
Toward the end of the concert, Gilbert sprinkled in both old school country and full-throttle rock songs. And the band is undoubtedly built for it. Multiple guitarists are in Gilbert's ensemble. And the frontman frequently straps a guitar around his neck, beefing up the six-string attack even more.
Standouts included Collective Soul's 1993 monster hit, "Shine."
"Whoa, heaven, let your light shine down!" Gilbert and the crowd belted out in unison.
Although Gilbert didn't sing the lyrics, on two occasions the band broke into a guitar orgy while riffing a classic Rage Against the Machine song, "Killing in the Name."
Super cool.
