Jack Savoretti announces Forest Live dates

Jack Savoretti is the first artist to announce dates as part of Forest Live 2023, the summer concert series presented by Forestry England.

Since his initial breakthrough with BBC Radio 2 airplay in 2006, a succession of crafted albums has built the Anglo-Italian singer-songwriter an impressive career. ‘Written in Scars’ (2014) and ‘Sleep No More’ (2016) confirmed his growing popularity with gold-selling status and these were superseded by No 1 albums ‘Singing To Strangers’ (2019) and ‘Europiana’ (2021) which spawned ‘Europiana Encore’, a special extended edition released this year. A number of his songs have featured in TV and film such as ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and ‘One Tree Hill’. Jack Savoretti last appeared as part of Forest Live in 2019.

Forest Live is a major outdoor live music series that introduces forests to new audiences in unique, natural woodland arenas around the country. Over 2 million people have attended a Forest Live gig in the last twenty-two years, enjoying great music and supporting the nation’s forests when buying a ticket. Going to a concert helps Forestry England create beautiful places for people to enjoy, run important conservation projects and keep growing trees. Last year they planted some 6.8 million trees, caring for the nation’s 1,500 woods and forests sustainably and welcoming 363 million visits annually.

Commenting on the dates Jack said:

“I love performing at these wonderful woodland locations, they are like no other live arenas. I look forward to sharing all the new music we have been releasing with you in these incredible settings.”

Who is Jack Savoretti and where is he from?

Jack Savoretti is an English solo acoustic singer of Italian descent.

Born on October 10, 1983, he celebrated his 35th birthday in 2018. His father is Italian, while his mother is half-German, half-Polish, and he grew up in London before moving to Lugano, a Swiss city near the Italian border.

Moving around Europe as a child, he ended up at The American School In Switzerland.

Jack Savoretti's first album Between the Minds was released in 2007, and he has since recorded five more.

Plus The Wandering Hearts The Wandering Hearts achieved their second consecutive #1 on the UK official Americana Chart as they built on the breakthrough success of 2018’s Wild Silence debut with last summer’s self-titled second album, recorded between Woodstock and Omaha with acclaimed producers such as Simone Felice, David Baron and Mike Mogis.

Arriving to a second wave of critical acclaim and again championed by Bob Harris at BBC Radio 2 (who previously awarded them his Breakthrough Artist at the UK Americana Awards), the album cemented the trio’s reputation as one of the leading lights in British Folk-Americana – as underlined by their further nomination for Album Of The Year at the UK Americana Awards 2022, alongside Yola and The Staves.

Where To See Jack Savoretti On 2022 UK Tour

Jack Savoretti returns with a wonderful new album that arrives complete with its own genre, Europiana . Put on your dancing shoes for the funky first single, the disco fuelled ‘ Who’s Hurting Who ’, featuring Nile Rodgers. 

“Nile brings groove, glamour and chic that is everything that Europiana is,” Jack Savoretti says. “ Europiana wouldn’t exist without Nile Rodgers!”

To celebrate, Jack has announced a 12 date UK tour next spring including a date at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena on March 25 th .

Jack Savoretti Discusses Europiana

‘Europiana’ is the follow-up to Jack’s breakthrough 2019 album ‘ Singing to Strangers’ , his third consecutive gold seller and first UK number one. While that album was recorded in Rome at Ennio Morricone’s studio, this new disc was conceived in between lockdowns at Jack’s Oxfordshire home.

“ Europiana isn’t a sound. It’s references and inspirations and the emotions they evoke,” Jack says. “It’s the music of my childhood summers, remade for today.”

Once again, Cam Blackwood (who has worked alongside George Ezra, London Grammar and Florence & The Machine), has produced the album, recorded late last year at Abbey Road with Jack’s longtime touring band. John Oates plays guitar and sang backing vocals, from Nashville, on ‘ When You’re Lonely’.

Jack Savoretti Makes Europiana A Family Affair

Much of the 11-track album concerns itself with family, friendship and the precarious nature of love so it’s not surprising that Jack’s wife and children sing on a few tracks.

“’Singing to Strangers’ was my first album that wasn’t all about me, which I loved,” Jack says. “’Europiana’ pushes that further. There are more characters and bigger concepts. I’m looking out at the world, not inwards.”

“For weeks we literally lived Europiana ,” Jack enthuses. “The band would arrive and I’d make a big lunch, eaten outside with loads of rose. Then we’d go inside to write in what is usually my living room but it became a studio. The sun and fun seeped into the songs.”
