When you think of a watch winder, you typically think of a big and boxy thing that you have to carve out desk or tabletop space for. And, ultimately, these winders are things you do not really ever transport – a strictly at-home solution. WOLF , however, has now developed a portable watch winder that upholds their industry leading quality and technology in a smaller package. So, just how compact is the WOLF Rocket Travel Watch Winder? It clocks in at 94mm (L) x 157.8mm (W) x 88mm (H) or, for my fellow Americans, 3.62″ (L) x 6.37″ (W) x 3.37″ (H). In layman’s terms, its dimensions will safely accommodate second home or hotel room safes with ease.

The rocket is effectively comprised of four sections: the front cover (to protect the watch inside), the cuff (the cushion on which your watch rests), the drum (which holds the cushion in place during rotations), and the main unit which houses the Micro Gearbox that holds the nylon driving gears and micro sensors. While smaller in stature, the WOLF Rocket Travel Winder is still equipped with many of the manufacture’s patented technologies and systems. In line with their previous winders, the Rocket Travel Winder, thanks to the micro sensors within the main unit, is able to precisely count the number of turns per day (something other watch winders are only able to estimate at best).  You cannot set the winder to a specific number within a TPD (turns per day) range as you can with some of WOLF’s other winders, instead the Rocket has a fixed 900 TPD program that includes pre-programmed pause and sleep phases. Nonetheless, these features will best ensure the winder does not cause any unnecessary stress to the automatic winding system of the watch.

Now, of course a travel winder must take into consideration that while in transit, or stored away in a safe, it will not be able to be plugged into an electrical outlet. Impressively, the Wolf Rocket Travel Winder, after a full eight hour charge, has a battery life of 45 days. I could only dream of vacationing for such a duration, so I think it is safe to say that the power reserve of this winder is more than enough.

Now I will not pretend that everyone considers a watch winder in any form a must-have accessory, it is a debated topic amongst watch enthusiasts. Some believe that winders can be more harmful then helpful, creating constant unnecessary wear on the movement’s automatic winding system. But, for others, especially those with high-complication watches like a perpetual calendar that can be an absolute pain to have to set manually, watch winders are absolute live savers. Let’s be honest though. While we may romanticise the ritual of winding up a watch each morning, in a world where people own multiple pieces it is not always feasible in our busy lives to keep all of our watches fully wound. Back during my watch specialist days at Piaget, it would literally take an hour or more to wind up all the watches in the cases every few days – so perhaps I have a bit of PTSD in this regard. What does Free Shipping include?

FREE Delivery is included in the price when you buy from LUX. This is a curbside delivery. That means they unload item from the truck.  The freight carrier is not responsible for the inside delivery of any freight. Inside delivery is not included in the Free Shipping.  It is the sole responsibility of the customer to coordinate inside delivery of the freight.

White Glove Delivery Service

We can arrange for a additional cost a White Glove Service that would include inside delivery. White glove service  will unload and bring the item to the exact location you want it. These services are beneficial when items are too bulky or heavy for one person to move, or if you live alone or don’t have anyone to help you place your item where you want it. All packaging materials and garbage are removed from your home or business.   Our regular white glove service is for first floor deliveries. But we can also provide a personalize white glove quote for your specific requirements.

Order Confirmation:

Cancellations & Refunds:  If you order has shipped, you (the buyer) will be responsible for actual restocking fees and return shipping charges. Refunds will only be issued to the original credit card that you use when placing your order.

Damages: Please inspect the packaging of your item(s) when they arrive, if you notice any damage you should make note of it when signing for delivery. If your item(s) do arrived damaged, please send photos to [email protected]    and we will process an insurance claim on your behalf. Please also keep all the packaging to proceed with the claim we would need pictures of the packaging for the shipping company.

A Return Authorization is required for all returns. Any returns not accompanied by a valid Return Authorization will not be accepted. All returns must be authorized within 15 days of order receipt. Products must be returned in new, unused condition and in the original packaging.

Customer would be responsable for shipping cost and restocking fees. Please contact us if you need to process a return. Items not returned in new condition or without original packaging and accessories are subject to additional restocking fees. Refunds will only be issued to the original credit card that you use when placing your order and after the item have been received back at the warehouse and we have verify their are no damages.

Total solar eclipse April 8, 2024 facts: Path, time and the best places to view

In the U.S., 31 million people already live inside the path of totality.

"Eclipse Across America," will air live Monday, April 8, beginning at 2 p.m. ET on ABC, ABC News Live, National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo WILD, Disney+ and Hulu as well as network social media platforms.

On April 8, 2024, a historic total solar eclipse will cast a shadow over parts of the United States, prompting a mass travel event to the path of totality -- from Texas to Maine and several states and cities in between.

A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and the Earth and, for a short time, completely blocks the face of the sun, according to NASA .

The track of the moon's shadow across Earth's surface is called the path of totality, and to witness the April 8 total solar eclipse, viewers must be within the 115-mile-wide path. To discover when to see the solar eclipse in totality or the partial eclipse in locations across the U.S. outside of the path, check out NASA's Eclipse Explorer tool .

Eclipse travel

In the U.S., 31 million people already live inside the path of totality, bringing the celestial phenomenon to their doorsteps, Michael Zeiler, expert solar eclipse cartographer at GreatAmericanEclipse.com told ABC News.

But for individuals outside of the path, investing time and money are needed to experience the event in totality.

Eclipse chasers, or umbraphiles, are individuals who will do almost anything, and travel almost anywhere, to see totality, according to the American Astronomical Society .

"There's a very active community of solar eclipse chasers and we will go to any reasonable lengths to see solar eclipses anywhere in the world," Zeiler said. "All of us are united in pursuing the unimaginable beauty of a total solar eclipse."

Bringing together both eclipse experts and novice sky watchers, the total solar eclipse on April 8 is projected to be the U.S.'s largest mass travel event in 2024, according to Zeiler, who likened it to "50 simultaneous Super Bowls across the nation."

"When you look at the number of people expected to come to the path of totality for the solar eclipse, we estimate those numbers are roughly the equivalent of 50 simultaneous Super Bowls across the nation, from Texas to Maine," he said.

In the U.S., the path of totality begins in Texas and will travel through Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Small parts of Tennessee and Michigan will also experience the total solar eclipse, according to NASA.

Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light Is Coming to TV Later This Year

Per PBS, " Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light will trace the final four years of Cromwell’s life, completing his journey from self-made man to the most feared, influential figure of his time. Cromwell is as complex as he is unforgettable: a politician and a fixer, a diplomat and a father, a man who both defied and defined his age."

Per the publisher, "The story begins in May 1536: Anne Boleyn is dead, decapitated in the space of a heartbeat by a hired French executioner. As her remains are bundled into oblivion, Cromwell breakfasts with the victors. The blacksmith’s son from Putney emerges from the spring’s bloodbath to continue his climb to power and wealth, while his formidable master, Henry VIII, settles to short-lived happiness with his third queen, Jane Seymour. Cromwell, a man with only his wits to rely on, has no great family to back him, no private army. Despite rebellion at home, traitors plotting abroad and the threat of invasion testing Henry’s regime to the breaking point, Cromwell’s robust imagination sees a new country in the mirror of the future. All of England lies at his feet, ripe for innovation and religious reform. But as fortune’s wheel turns, Cromwell’s enemies are gathering in the shadows. The inevitable question remains: how long can anyone survive under Henry’s cruel and capricious gaze?"

The show will premiere in 2024.
