NEWS: LOS ÁNGELES AZULES ANNOUNCE U.S. AND CANADA “THE LOVE OF MY LIFE” TOUR

Oakland, Calif. – October 30, 2023 – After having received the Lifetime Achievement Award a few weeks ago during the Billboard L atin Music Awards, cumbia icons Los Ángeles Azules today announced their return to the United States with a new show, “El Amore de mi Vida.”

The group of the Mejía Avante siblings begins their tour in February and for two months, will visit more than 25 cities including Oakland at the  Oakland Arena, Saturday, April 13, 2024 .  

The tour supports Los Ángeles Azules’ upcoming album set to be released at the end of this year which includes the song “El Amor de Mi Vida” with María Becerra, the single that gives its name to the tour. 

“El Amor de mi Vida” is currently in the Top 5 of Regional Mexican radio as well as Latin Airplay in Billboard in the U.S. Additionally, it has reached No. 1 in Mexico and Argentina for multiple consecutive weeks. The song’s music video has more than 53 million views and, since its premiere in August, has been among the Top 100 videos globally on YouTube.

“El Amor de mi Vida” will be performed live for the first time during the tour and will feature notable guests, including Jay de la Cueva and Ximena Sariñana.

Tickets go on sale starting Friday, November 3 at 10AM local time through Ticketmaster and losangelesazules.com.mx.

“El Amor de Mi Vida” tour will follow Los Ángeles Azules’ year-ending performance at Dodger Stadium for Besame Mucho Festival 2023  on December 2nd. The 2024 excursion launches on February 13th in Nashville. After a night in Atlanta and two Florida shows, the group travels up the East Coast via Greensboro, North Carolina and Washington, DC to New York’s Theatre at MSG on March 2nd and Boston’s Orpheum Theatre on March 3rd.

Mexican cumbia group Los Ángeles Azules will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards,  Billboard  and Telemundo announced Tuesday (Aug. 29).

With a 40-year musical career, Los Ángeles Azules have achieved great success, including 14 entries on Billboard ‘s Hot Latin Songs chart, with three songs in the top 10. They also have 16 entries on Latin Airplay , of which six reached the top 10, including “Nunca es Suficiente,” with Natalia Lafourcade, which peaked at No. 3 in 2019. Their 2020 album De Buenos Aires Para El Mundo debuted at No. 8 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart, making it the band’s 12th album to reach the top 10 on the tally.

Past recipients of the  Billboard  Lifetime Achievement Award include Raphael, Paquita la del Barrio, Armando Manzanero, Miguel Bosé, Los Temerarios, Intocable, José José, Marco Antonio Solís, Ricardo Arjona and Maná, among others.

Besides airing live on Telemundo, the Billboard Latin Music Awards will air simultaneously on the Hispanic entertainment cable channel, Universo, Peacock, the Telemundo App, and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo Internacional. Peso Pluma  leads the list of finalists with 21 nods across 15 categories including artist of the year, songwriter of the year, Global 200 Latin artist of the year, and Top Latin Album of the year.

Los Ángeles Azules aterrizaron en Anaheim, pero sus alas se extenderán más por California en la segunda parte del tour por Norteamérica

Luego de haber recorrido importantes ciudades de los Estados Unidos como Orlando, Washington, Nueva York, Chicago, San Antonio y muchas más, Los Ángeles Azules aterrizaron esta semana en el estado de California, con presentaciones en Anaheim, Funner y Oakland para llevar su exitosa gira “El Amor de mi Vida Tour 2024”.

La cautivante banda de cumbia oriunda de Iztapalapa, México, es considerada en la actualidad como una de agrupaciones más exitosas del género y su música ha logrado cruzar fronteras musicales que ni ellos se imaginaron un día. Su música y ritmo contagiante no solamente ha llegado a través de sus conciertos individuales en las más importantes plazas de Latinoamérica, los Estados Unidos y Canadá, sino que han logrado formar parte de reconocidos festivales de música internacional como el Vive Latino de la Ciudad de México y el Coachella Fest, de Indio, California, donde los han recibido por todo lo alto.

Igualmente, esta semana California los recibió con llenos totales y el recorrido por este estado comenzó el jueves cuando los hermanos Mejía Avante y el resto de la agrupación aterrizaron en el emblemático Honda Center de la ciudad de Anaheim, donde Los Ángeles Azules llegaron con dos invitados especiales de alto calibre.

La primera fue la cantante argentina Ángela Leiva, quien formó parte de las colaboraciones que se incluyeron en su disco anterior “De Buenos Aires Para el Mundo”, el cual fue lanzado en el 2020. Este disco debutó en el #8 de la lista de Top Álbumes Regional Mexicano de Billboard y se colocó como el duodécimo álbum de la banda que logró ingresar al Top 10 de la lista.

El segundo invitado fue el irreverente vocalista y guitarrista mexicano Jay de la Cueva, quien en el pasado grabó con Los Ángeles Azules el tema “17 años” y colaboró en el tema “20 Rosas” que la agrupación grabó junto a Américo para la producción “De Buenos Aires Para el Mundo”. Esta producción se grabó en vivo en el Salón Unione e Benevolenza de Buenos Aires. Conocido por sus participaciones en las bandas Fobia, Moderatto y Molotov, De la Cueva ha formado parte de esta gira con Los Ángeles Azules y el diverso público lo ha recibido con entusiasmo gracias a su particular destreza para arrancarle notas muy propias de su género y sumarlas al tradicional estilo cumbiero de la agrupación originaria de Iztapalapa.

Junto a Leonardo, Ángela y su hermano Antonio Aguilar hijo, el ‘Estandarte de la Música Mexicana’ inicia su nuevo espectáculo que rinde homenaje al ‘Día de los Muertos’

Esta parte de la gira por Norteamérica, que inició en febrero en la ciudad de Nashville, tocó suelo californiano en la misma arena que la semana pasada fue tomada por Pepe Aguilar y su familia con el exitoso “Jaripeo Hasta los Huesos” y en ambas presentaciones, el público de Anaheim se volcó en masa para apoyar a sus compatriotas mexicanos. Por supuesto, también vimos a muchos salvadoreños, guatemaltecos, peruanos y hasta colombianos entre el público ya que son fieles seguidores de la agrupación, el género de la cumbia y todos los ritmos del folclore mexicano.

Esta gira por Norteamérica se ha encargado de apoyar el tema “El Amor de Mi Vida” que la agrupación grabó con la artista argentina María Becerra, que viene de llenar dos veces el estadio Más Monumental de River Plate, mientras que Los Ángeles Azules han logrado llenar cada uno de los escenarios que el tour ha visitado en los Estados Unidos, como el de Anaheim, por ejemplo, al que Los Angeles Times en Español asistió, donde la banda conformada por 14 músicos hombres y 3 talentosas mujeres pusieron a bailar, vibrar y gozar al público en todos los niveles del famoso recinto del Condado Orange.

“De Iztapalapa para California”, así fue que lo señaló por el micrófono Elías “El Doc” Mejía Avante, quien llegó apoyado por Jorge, Alfredo, José Hilario, Cristina, Guadalupe y el resto de la agrupación, para darle casi dos horas de cumbia al público de este lado del mundo que, sin duda, le llegó al corazón. “Ellos me encantan desde siempre. Sus canciones clásicas son las que hemos puesto en todas nuestras fiestas y hoy vine con mi marido Abelardo para bailar toda noche aunque sé que mañana me tengo que levantar bien temprano para ir a trabajar”, dijo entre risas de emoción Eleonora García, una dama nacida en Los Ángeles, de ascendencia mexicana, que llegó al Honda Center junto a su esposo que se dedica a la construcción.

La fiesta arrancó a las 8:30pm en punto con “Entrega de amor” y el público los recibió de pie. Desde entonces casi el 90 por ciento de la audiencia presente nunca más se quiso sentar. Las butacas parecían estorbar, aunque los cuerpos de seguridad del recinto les pedía a la fanaticada que no ocuparan los pasillos para bailar. El ritmo era tan contagiante, que más de una pareja que daba sus mejores pasos y vueltas, era interrumpida para que se ubicaran en sus respectivos lugares.

Así fueron cayendo temas como “Mi único amor”, “Las maravillas de la vida”, “La cumbia del acordeón”, “Ay amor” y “La cumbia picosa” que sirvieron para calentar los motores, ya que posteriormente llegaron los nuevos temas que han sido popularizados por grandes estrellas de la música internacional con los que Los Ángeles Azules han hecho exitosas colaboraciones.

“La cumbia del corazón”, que Los Ángeles Azules grabó con Carlos Vives, fue la primera de este segmento que el público coreó a viva voz mientras ofrecían sus mejores pasos en cada rincón del Honda Center Arena. No se extrañó la presencia del artista nacido en Santa Marta, Colombia, porque los vocalistas de la banda hicieron un gran trabajo en la tarima delante de una enorme bandera colombiana ondeaba en las pantallas del fondo.

Por supuesto no pudieron faltar los clásicos “‘Mi niña mujer”, “Como te voy a olvidar” y “Cumbia pa’ gozar”, que encendieron los corazones de los miles de presentes al sabor del acordeón de Jorge Mejía Avante. Uno de ellos era Álvaro Carrillo, quien a pesar de nacer en El Salvador, dijo que la música de Los Ángeles Azules corría por sus venas porque su mamá siempre ponía sus canciones para acompañar los domingos en familia. “Y hoy verlos en persona es un sueño hecho realidad. No había tenido oportunidad de verlos tan de cerca. La última vez que los vi fue en diciembre del año pasado en el ‘Bésame Mucho’ (Fest), pero estaba muy lejos del escenario”, dijo el joven salvadoreño al lado de su novia Fabiola.

En ese festival ‘Bésame Mucho’ que se realizó en el estacionamiento del Dodger Stadium en diciembre de 2023, Los Ángeles Azules compartieron el escenario con Pepe Aguilar y Alejandro Fernández, dos estrellas con las que la agrupación mexicana ha compartido colaboraciones. En esa oportunidad no cantaron juntos, cada uno tuvo su propio show. Pero en el escenario del Honda Center, “La cumbia triste” sonó a plenitud con “El Potrillo” en las pantallas gigantes, mientras que los integrantes de la agrupación cantaron frente al video oficial del tema que hoy en día sobrepasa los 4 millones de vistas a dos meses de su lanzamiento. Este mismo tema se colocó en el playlist Cumbia Pop de Spotify el mismo día de su estreno, para luego posicionarse por dos semanas consecutivas en el número 1 de la radio en México y Estados Unidos.

“Ni contigo ni sin ti”, que grabaron junto a Pepe, también tuvo su espacio en la voz de uno de los vocalista del grupo. El resultado generó grandes aplausos y los sonoros coros de la audiencia.

“Que le den cumbia a la gente” (que grabaron con Guaynaa), “20 rosas”, “La cumbia del infinito” y “Me haces falta tú”, sirvieron de antesala para la presentación musical como solista de una nueva vocalista en el grupo, quien fue la encargada de darle voz a los éxitos que Los Ángeles Azules han grabado con las cantantes argentinas del momento como Nicki Nicole y Maria Becerra, además de la actual pareja del cantante Christian Nodal, la rapera Cazzu y el rapero mexicano Santa Fe Klan. De esta manera, la escultural cantante de larga cabellera negra se midió a la enorme responsabilidad de interpretar los éxitos “Otra Noche”, “Tú y tú”, “Mis sentimientos” y “El amor de mi vida”, además de mega sencillo que la banda grabó junto a Belinda y Horacio Palencia, “Amor a primera vista”.

Su interpretación tuvo una aceptable acogida por parte del público que la apoyó en los coros, aunque la diferencia con las cantantes originales se sintió muy marcada, pero al final esta joven cantante recibió grandes aplausos de los presentes. No obstante, la interpretación del tema “Nunca es suficiente”, que actualmente forma parte del “Billion Views Club” de YouTube y que fue grabado junto a Natalia Lafourcade, recayó en esta ocasión en los hombros de su invitada especial, la cantante argentina Ángela Leiva, quien igualmente le dio voz al clásico “El Listón de tu pelo”, tema que ella misma grabó en vivo para el disco “De Buenos Aires Para el Mundo” donde también participaron figuras del Cono Sur como Lali Espósito, Abel Pintos, Vicentico y Pablo Lescano, entre otros.

La interpretación de Ángela Leiva, le dio un toque muy personal a “Nunca es suficiente”, el cual arrancó gritos de emoción en el público. Realmente se llevó muy merecidamente los aplausos de los presentes, quienes igualmente bailaron a todo lo que daba con su versión de “El Listón de tu pelo”. Sencillamente exquisita su participación.

El concierto en el Honda Center sirvió también para un ameno concurso de baile en el escenario, donde subieron a un “güero” para bailar junto a dos damas. El joven americano mostró su ritmo peculiar para la cumbia y fue el ganador de los aplausos del público. El segmento fue bastante divertido y la audiencia presente lo disfrutó al máximo.

“Con esta nos despedimos”, dijo “El Doc” antes de interpretar el tema “A todos rumberos” con las imágenes del grupo Panteón Rococó y Santana en la pantalla. Sin embargo el cierre se marcó con la participación de Jay de la Cueva en la interpretación del clásico “17 años”, que puso a bailar hasta a todos sin excepción, logrando un final de concierto extraordinario ya que el público se fue contento y bailando por los pasillos. Ya los elementos de seguridad no pudieron hacer nada, el telón había bajado, pero la adrenalina seguía por las nubes en el inicio del recorrido de la gira por territorio californiano.

Esa misma noche la banda anunció el lanzamiento de su nuevo álbum “Se agradece”, que incluye cuatro temas inéditos como “Nací en un pueblo de Latinoamérica” junto al legendario artista cubano Eliades Ochoa, “Dime” con Deorro y la dominicana The Change, “Qué tontería” de la mano de Horacio Palencia, y el sencillo homónimo “Se agradece” al lado de la banda chilena, Chico Trujillo.

La presentación de su nuevo álbum “Se agradece”, también resalta la trayectoria de más de cuatro décadas de los hermanos Mejía Avante y llegará acompañada por dos ediciones especiales en físico para México titulados “Ruta 40”. Un formato en CD con los álbumes “Se Agradece” y “Cumbia del Corazón”, y un empaque exclusivo con la versión en vinilo de los álbumes “Se Agradece” y “Cumbia del Corazón”.

Tras haber recibido el Premio a la Trayectoria durante los Premios Billboard de la Música Latina, Los Ángeles Azules recibieron su primera nominación al Latin Grammy en la categoría Mejor Álbum Cumbia/Vallenato del año pasado por su álbum “Cumbia del Corazón”, además recibieron 4 nominaciones al Premio Lo Nuestro que se celebró hace unas semanas, mientras que el próximo 25 de abril llegan con u na nominación a los Latin American Music Awards que se harán en Las Vegas.

La agenda del grupo ha estado muy ocupada con esta gira, cuya primera parte por Estados Unidos culmina el 20 de abril, para luego reactivarse el 22 de agosto en territorio tejano con actuaciones en Austin, Hidalgo, Laredo, Sugar Land e Irving, para luego cruzar la frontera hacia Canadá para un concierto en Vancouver. For the first time Rosatom Fuel Division supplied fresh nuclear fuel to the world’s only floating nuclear cogeneration plant in the Arctic

The fuel was supplied to the northernmost town of Russia along the Northern Sea Route.

The first in the history of the power plant refueling, that is, the replacement of spent nuclear fuel with fresh one, is planned to begin before 2024. The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for all Russian nuclear icebreakers, as well as the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, is Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC), a company of Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL that is based in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactors of the icebreaking type. Unlike convenient ground-based large reactors (that require partial replacement of fuel rods once every 12-18 months), in the case of these reactors, the refueling takes place once every few years and includes unloading of the entire reactor core and loading of fresh fuel into the reactor.

The cores of KLT-40 reactors of the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit have a number of advantages compared to the reference ones: a cassette core was used for the first time in the history of the unit, which made it possible to increase the fuel energy resource to 3-3.5 years between refuelings, and also reduce the fuel component of the electricity cost by one and a half times. The FNPP operating experience formed the basis for the designs of reactors for nuclear icebreakers of the newest series 22220. Three such icebreakers have been launched by now.

For the first time the power units of the Akademik Lomonosov floating nuclear power plant were connected to the grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020. The supply of nuclear fuel from Elektrostal to Pevek and its loading into the second reactor is planned for 2024. The total power of the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, supplied to the coastal grid of Pevek without thermal energy consumption on shore, is about 76 MW, being about 44 MW in the maximum thermal power supply mode. The FNPP generated 194 million kWh according to the results of 2023. The population of Pevek is just a little more than 4 thousand, while the FNPP has a potential for supplying electricity to a city with a population of up to 100 thousand people. After the FNPP commissioning two goals were achieved. These include first of all the replacement of the retiring capacities of the Bilibino NPP, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya TPP, which has already been operating for more than 70 years. Secondly, energy is supplied to the main mining companies in western Chukotka in the Chaun-Bilibino energy hub a large ore and metal cluster, including gold mining companies and projects related to the development of the Baimsk ore zone. In September 2023, a 110 kilovolt power transmission line with a length of 490 kilometers was put into operation, connecting the towns of Pevek and Bilibino. The line increased the reliability of energy supply from the FNPP to both Bilibino consumers and mining companies, the largest of which is the Baimsky GOK. The comprehensive development of the Russian Arctic is a national strategic priority. To increase the NSR traffic is of paramount importance for accomplishment of the tasks set in the field of cargo shipping. This logistics corridor is being developed due regular freight voyages, construction of new nuclear-powered icebreakers and modernization of the relevant infrastructure. Rosatom companies are actively involved in this work. Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL (Rosatom Fuel Division) includes companies fabricating nuclear fuel, converting and enriching uranium, manufacturing gas centrifuges, conducting researches and producing designs. As the only nuclear fuel supplier to Russian NPPs, TVEL supplies fuel for a total of 75 power reactors in 15 countries, for research reactors in nine countries, as well as for propulsion reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world runs on TVEL fuel. Rosatom Fuel Division is the world’s largest producer of enriched uranium and the leader on the global stable isotope market. The Fuel Division is actively developing new businesses in chemistry, metallurgy, energy storage technologies, 3D printing, digital products, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. TVEL also includes Rosatom integrators for additive technologies and electricity storage systems. Rosenergoatom, Joint-Stock Company is part of Rosatom Electric Power Division and one of the largest companies in the industry acting as an operator of nuclear power plants. It includes, as its branches, 11 operating NPPs, including the FNPP, the Scientific and Technical Center for Emergency Operations at NPPs, Design and Engineering as well as Technological companies. In total, 37 power units with a total installed capacity of over 29.5 GW are in operation at 11 nuclear power plants in Russia. Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC, Elektrostal) is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fuel for nuclear power plants. The company produces fuel assemblies for VVER-440, VVER-1000, RBMK-1000, BN-600,800, VK-50, EGP-6; powders and fuel pellets intended for supply to foreign customers. It also produces nuclear fuel for research reactors. The plant belongs to the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom.
