This schedule can change frequently, and if you want to sail with a particular cruise director, you should check the schedule regularly to learn where your favorite cruise director may be assigned.

List of Carnival Cruise Directors by Ship for August and September 2023
by Prof. Cruise · August 2, 2023
One of the most common questions I receive and see asked on cruise boards and social media sites is: Who will my cruise director be? To which there are always several follow up questions asked by new cruisers to the effect of: What the heck is a cruise director? Well I’m here to answer both of those questions! First…
What does a Cruise Director do?
Besides not sleep, smile through exhaustion and frustration, and dish out almost as many corny jokes as yours truly? Quite a lot! In fact, cruise directors are the most visible crew members onboard a cruise ship and often work up to 16 hours per day with no days off during their contract period (usually lasting around 4 months, but up to 9 months in some cases). While passengers will see them constantly out and about introducing shows, MC’ing activities and events, and interacting with guests, they are also responsible for behind-the-scenes scheduling and coordination of all entertainment and activities and certain safety protocols.
Many regular Carnival cruisers have a favorite cruise director they look forward to sailing with. So, let’s get to our second question, who will the cruise director be on my Carnival cruise?
Who will the Cruise Director be on my upcoming Carnival Cruise?
Wondering who the cruise director will be on your upcoming Carnival cruise? Find the list of cruise directors by ship for the months of August and September 2023 here.
Important notes: * There is usually a week of overlap in the contracts of a current cruise director and their replacement. So, if you’re booked on the last sailing of a certain cruise director, you may actually see more of their replacement who is gearing up to take over. I’ve noted the exact “sign-off” and “sign-on” dates during August and September for each cruise director where there is overlap. ** While I try my best to keep this up-to-date, schedules sometimes change at the last minute, so I can’t guarantee this will always be 100% accurate. If you need 100% certainty as to who your cruise director will be, I recommend asking John Heald, Carnival’s Brand Ambassador, via the “community” tab on his Facebook page a week or so before your sailing date. ***All photos courtesy of Carnival Cruise Line

Good timing! We just got off a couple of weeks ago and it was Christian. Rumor was that it was only his first or second cruise as CD but we were really impressed. He was approachable, entertaining but not annoying, helpful and very visible throughout our trip.

Carnival Pride to Offer New Features After Drydock
- April 29, 2023
The Carnival Pride is set to receive new features during a routine drydock this month.
Scheduled for a summer season in Europe, the 2001-built vessel will spend nearly a month at a shipyard in Spain before resuming service on May 28.
According to Carnival Cruise Line, the 2,100-guest ship will receive further enhancements during the drydock, including new bars, updated equipment, a new steakhouse and more.
Following other four ships in the fleet, the Pride will be equipped with a version of the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, a venue that salutes the U.S. military.
Guests will also enjoy an upgraded Cloud 9 Spa and Fitness Center, which will offer new equipment, as well as a fresh look and feel.
The ship’s current two-deck steakhouse will also be enhanced, being rebranded as the Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse.
Other new features include a Carnival Adventures shop and a Dreams Photography Studio, in addition to Carnival’s new hull livery.
According to the company, the red, white and blue hull design serves as an homage to the patriotic colors that also represent the brand.
Following the refit, the Carnival Pride is set to offer a series of 15 European cruises that extends through late October.
Featuring various cruise lengths and itineraries, the program includes sailings to both the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, with departures from Dover, UK; Barcelona, Spain; and Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy.
Upon returning to the United States in November, the Carnival Pride is scheduled to offer a winter program in the Western Caribbean.
Sailing roundtrip from Tampa, the itineraries feature visits to popular ports in the region, including Mexico’s Cozumel, Honduras’ Roatan and Grand Cayman’s George Town.
In April 2024, the vessel repositions to Baltimore to kick off a year-round program of seven- to 12-night cruises to the Caribbean, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Canada, New England and more.

Much of the magic lies in the unique structure of Carnival Cruise Lines, especially with its system of directors. Picture this: talented jesters ruling their floating kingdoms, ensuring every wave of laughter and dance is perfectly timed.

Role of Carnival Cruise Director
Onboard a Carnival Cruise, the Cruise Director is not just a fancy title; it’s a lifestyle! Picture them as the captain of fun – the face you see, the voice you hear, the charm that ties all the festivities, food and drink together. This vivacious soul doesn’t just make public announcements; they are the life of the party! Whether it’s hosting electric deck parties or conducting vibrant game shows, the Cruise Director ensures the boat rocks in rhythm with laughter, food and drink , and joy.
Beyond the glitz and glamour, the role is of paramount importance. The Carnival Cruise Director orchestrates the entire entertainment brigade, working in harmony with the hotel director and a plethora of entertainers. Their primary quest? Crafting moments that embed themselves in passengers’ memories. From trivia contests to informing guests about ship activities, they ensure every traveler is always in the loop, always entertained, and always longing for the next adventure onboard!
Overview of the Carnival Cruise Director Schedule
Ah, the mysterious and much-anticipated Carnival Cruise Director Schedule ! Think of it as the entertainment compass for your cruise voyage. This schedule doesn’t just tell time; it paints a picture of who will be steering the ship’s entertainment wheel.
Ever experienced that ‘Oh, I know that voice!’ moment onboard? That’s because a cruise director’s essence is so impactful; they can significantly elevate the vacation experience. Believe it or not, having the right cruise director can transform an excellent cruise into an unforgettable one.
Every year, the Carnival Cruise Line unfurls its golden scroll, revealing the cruise director line-up for each ship in their grand fleet. This isn’t merely a list but a passport to entertainment excellence. Each entry announces the cruise director and their tenure on that ship.
However, a word of caution for all the eager planners out there: while this schedule is a beacon, it’s also fluid. Adjustments can and do happen. A unique aspect is the occasional overlap, where passengers might be treated to a duo of cruise directors. Imagine two maestros! But rest assured, one will always be at the helm.
For those sentimental souls (and aren’t we all a bit?), if a particular cruise director has ever made you laugh a tad harder or dance a bit wilder, this schedule can be your guide. Want to relive that magic? Just peek into the schedule to see if your favorite is onboard. Some folks are so smitten that they reshuffle their cruising plans just to sail with their favorite director again. That’s the power of a phenomenal cruise director!
The Carnival Cruise Director Schedule
Ever wondered how Carnival Cruise manages to pack so much fun under one deck? Well, the secret’s out: it’s all in The Carnival Cruise Director Schedule . Think of it less like a timetable and more like a treasure map. Instead of ‘X marks the spot’, it’s more ‘Who’s bringing the party tonight?’. This schedule decodes the maestros behind every laugh riot, dance-off, and evening extravaganza. It’s the unseen anchor that ensures smooth sailing in the world of entertainment. So, as you dive deeper into this nautical narrative, get ready to discover the stars steering your journey, one giggle, groove, and gala at a time.

John “The Brit With Wit” Heald : Oh, Johnny boy! No, he’s not the singer of a melodramatic song; he’s the legend with over three decades under his belt at Carnival. While he might have traded in his cruise director hat for the glittery tiara of a “Brand Ambassador”, his unmistakable British humor still reigns supreme.
If you’re cruising around on the ‘www’, hoping to spot John’s cruise director schedule, brace yourself for disappointment. But hey, the silver lining – he’s just one click away on his uproarious Facebook Page, where he’s practically the agony aunt for Carnival enthusiasts.
Leon “Mr. Electricity” Smith: 20 years and counting! Leon isn’t just a cruise director; he’s Carnival’s in-house energy drink. With a personality that could rival a bolt of lightning, he’s the human defibrillator ensuring no one’s fun levels flatline. Got cruise blues? Leon’s the man with the tunes!
Alex “The People’s Champ” Siegler : Roll out the red carpet because the ‘Favorite Cruise Director’ – as per several publications – is here. Alex doesn’t just cruise; he builds bridges (not literally) with every passenger, ensuring that every interaction is more memorable than the last. Connecting with him is like finding Wi-Fi in the middle of the ocean – rare and delightful!
Dustin “Mr. Party Starter” Gabriel: If enthusiasm were contagious, Dustin would be patient zero. Serving on a myriad of Carnival ships, he’s the flame that sets the party on fire and ensures it blazes all night. When Dustin’s onboard, even the ship’s anchor wishes it could dance!
Lee “Jester from Manchester” Mason: Now, here’s a fellow who can probably make a fish laugh underwater. Lee’s blend of humor ensures that there’s never a dull moment onboard. If keeping passengers entertained were an Olympic sport, Lee would be leaving with a trunk full of gold medals. Our director never misses to shoot a vlog or a chance to entertain.
Jake “The Cruise Maestro” Miller: Jake’s not just a name; it’s a brand in the Carnival universe. With accolades like ‘Favorite Cruise Director’ by several journals, Jake is the pied piper of fun, turning every cruise event into an electrifying concert. With Jake, every day is Mardi Gras!
So, the next time you’re on board, look out for these icons. They don’t just set the course; they are the course to unparalleled fun!
Does the carnival cruise director schedule change?
Certainly, various factors can lead to changes in the cruise director’s schedule at Carnival Cruise Line. These may include unforeseen circumstances, internal reshuffling, or personal commitments. While the cruise line aims for consistency in guest experience, adjustments are sometimes necessary. However, passengers are kept informed, and a roster of skilled directors is always ready to step in.
How long is a cruise directors contract?
Cruise Directors on Carnival typically sign contracts lasting 4 to 6 months, although this can vary based on experience and ship itinerary. Once a contract ends, they usually take a break on land to recharge. The duration and cyclical nature of their work ensure they remain energetic and fresh for each stint.
