Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Were Recorded Falling Off Swing In Bahamas?

The claim surfaced as the celebrity couple reportedly vacationed in the tropical location., nick hardinges, published march 26, 2024.

Miscaptioned

About this rating

While the people depicted in the footage were unknown, it did not show the celebrity couple on a March 2024 tropical vacation. The video has circulated online since 2018, years before Swift and Kelce started dating.

While vacationing in the Bahamas in March 2024, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were supposedly recorded falling off a swing, according to a number of social media accounts.

On March 25, for example, an X (formerly Twitter) account uploaded a video showing the silhouettes of a couple frolicking on a beach swing before falling into water below them. The post was captioned: "Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce enjoy a swing ride on vacation in the Bahamas (via TMZ)."

Similar posts surfaced  elsewhere on X (archived here) , as well as on  Facebook  (archived here ) and  TikTok  (archived here ). The celebrity couple was  reportedly  on vacation in the Bahamas when the social media posts surfaced.

Together, the videos allegedly showing the celebrity couple had amassed millions of views at the time of this writing.

Some social media users questioned whether the footage indeed depicted the pop star and Kansas City Chiefs player, while others expressed amusement and/or seemingly believed it did.

However, the people in the video were not Swift and Kelce on a March 2024 vacation.

The footage was authentic — that is, it was not the product of digital-editing software — and has been on the internet since at least November 2018 , years before the pair started dating.

The video's true backstory remains a mystery. Using reverse-image search tools , Snopes was unable to identify the couple in the clip, nor confirm when or where the footage was captured before it surfaced online in November 2018.

Other outlets  also addressed  social media posts that incorrectly captioned the footage.

Taylor Swift Recovers Quickly After Folklore Cabin Trip in Tokyo, Jokes Her 'Life Flashed' Before Her Eyes

Taylor Swift recently resumed her Eras Tour, and will release her new album in April

Taylor Swift is shakin’ off a stage snafu!

The superstar nearly tripped and fell while performing an Eras Tour show in Tokyo on Friday, but brushed off the incident with some good humor.

As seen in fan-captured videos shared to X , Swift, 34, stumbled a bit while walking down the stairs of a set piece featured during the Folklore portion of her concert.

Later, she addressed the near-fall before playing her song “Betty,” joking that her “life flashed before my eyes.”

“I almost fell off the Folklore cabin, but I didn’t and that’s the lesson. My life flashed before my eyes, yeah, no, I’m good. It’s all good. Everything’s fine,” she told the crowd. “Everything’s great! I’m just so happy that I didn’t fall off the folklore cabin, you know what I mean? What a great night in Tokyo!”

The star continued, explaining that the incident happened “right as I was taking my harness off, too.”

After a touring break in December and January, Swift picked her Eras Tour back up in Japan on Wednesday, and is set to play shows in Asia, Australia and Europe through August. That same day, she announced that her Eras Tour concert film has found a streaming home on Disney+ , and will be available starting March 15.

And that’s not the only reason it’s a good time to be a Swiftie. The “Anti-Hero” singer announced at the Grammy Awards on Sunday that her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department , will be released on April 19.

Swift revealed the new record during her acceptance speech for best pop vocal album, and later that night, also took home album of the year for Midnights , making history as the first artist to ever win album of the year four times.

"I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way. But I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans," she said. "So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I've been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out on April 19."

Swift added, "It’s called The Tortured Poets Department . I'm gonna go and post the cover right now backstage. Thank you. I love you. Thank you."

Later, at her show in Tokyo, Swift told the crowd that she had plans to announce her new album at the concert had she not won a Grammy.

"Everyone asks, 'Why do you make so many albums?' It's like, 'Man, because I love it so much. I'm having fun. Leave me alone,’” she said.

Taylor Swift nearly falls off stage prop during ‘Eras Tour’ show: ‘My life flashed before my eyes’

Taylor Swift narrowly avoided a tumble during a recent stop on the the “Eras Tour” in Tokyo.

During her performance on Friday, Feb. 9, at Tokyo Dome, Swift nearly fell off a prop on stage as she finished the song “The 1” from her set.

To start the “Folklore” portion of the show, Swift lays down on the grassy roof of a cabin to sing the first track from the album. In videos shared across social media of the incident, as Swift walked down the roof, she stumbled.

She caught herself and quickly recovered after the trip before continuing her descent to the stage to perform the next song of the set, “Betty.”

She addressed the mishap to fans right after, telling the crowd on stage, “I almost fell off the ‘Folklore’ cabin, but I didn’t, and that’s the lesson.”

“My life flashed before my eyes,” she added, before assuring fans that she was OK. “Yeah, no, I’m good. It’s all good. Everything’s fine. Everything’s great. I’m just so happy that I didn’t fall off the ‘Folklore’ cabin.”

She then dove into the back story behind the "Folklore" album , business as usual.

During the singer’s 2023 dates of the tour, which took place across the United States, Mexico and South America, fans affectionally dubbed certain bloopers to be part of the “Errors Tour.”

On June 30, 2023, while Swift was performing the first of two shows in Cincinnati, Ohio, she experienced technical difficulties with her stage at the end of the “Reputation” era on the setlist and had to sprint off stage.

After finishing the song “Look What You Made Me Do,” Swift landed her mark on stage, which should have lowered her beneath the stage for a quick change before the “Speak Now” era. However, the stage didn’t immediately move, so the singer had to run toward the back of the stage past her dancers to exit.

The “Karma” singer poked fun at the mishap on social media, commenting “still swift af boi” on a video of the incident.

Other mishaps from the tour included inadvertently swallowing a bug on stage in Chicago, going viral on social media for defending fans from security mid-performance in Philadelphia and accidentally cutting her hand backstage after tripping on the hem of one of her dresses.

The couple was very affectionate and touchy. They held hands while leaving the water, with Swift wearing a yellow striped Montce bikini as she sauntered on the sand. Her hair was styled in a ponytail. Kelce, meanwhile, wore blue printed swim trunks. See photos here .

The last time Swift offered a look at her bikini style was a memorable one. On July 7, 2023—the day of her Eras Tour in Kansas City, Missouri—Kelce memorably attended one of her shows, tried and failed to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it , then ultimately get connected with her . (“I had somebody playing Cupid,” he later told WSJ . )

People confirmed today that Swift and Kelce spent the past week in the Bahamas after unverified celeb gossip Instagram account DeuxMoi posted photos of them somewhere tropical on March 18.

“They vacationed in the Bahamas for several days,” a source told People . “It was a much-needed break for both of them. They very much enjoyed it. They are so happy together.”

Prior to their trip, another source told People that Kelce and Swift have been staying in California during her tour break and his NFL off-season. “They are spending time in Los Angeles together,” that source said. “They’re still very happy. They’re so cute together.”

Swift and Kelce first started dating in July. The star spoke to Time in December about their choice to be more public about their dating compared to her previous relationships.

“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she said. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

She also discussed her choice to generally go out more, saying, “Over the years, I’ve learned I don’t have the time or bandwidth to get pressed about things that don’t matter. Yes, if I go out to dinner, there’s going to be a whole chaotic situation outside the restaurant. But I still want to go to dinner with my friends.”

“Life is short,” she added. “Have adventures. Me locking myself away in my house for a lot of years—I’ll never get that time back. I’m more trusting now than I was six years ago.”

Taylor Swift Wears Denim Miniskirt in BTS Photo From Sydney Zoo Trip With Sabrina Carpenter

Jelly Roll Weight Loss

Sabrina Carpenter gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her trip to the Sydney Zoo with Taylor Swift in February. While reflecting on her time as the opening act on the Eras tour, Sabrina included a photo of the ladies strolling through the establishment.

In the picture, which was shared on March 23, Taylor, 34, wore a denim miniskirt and T-shirt, while Sabrina, 24, rocked shorts and a white top. The photo was taken from behind as the pair observed the wildlife. Sabrina’s hair was down, while Taylor’s was pulled back into a low bun.

The zoo visit came during a day off from the Eras tour on February 21. One day later, Taylor returned to the park with boyfriend Travis Kelce , who had flown in that morning to attend one of her concerts.

Sabrina served as the opening act on several international Eras tour dates in the second half of 2023 and beginning of 2024. She wrapped up her time on the road with Taylor in Singapore on March 9.

“Sitting at home reflecting on what a whirlwind this was and how very honored I feel to have been part of it,” she wrote on Instagram. “I want to thank every crowd for being so welcoming and generous to us and making some of the most impressive friendship bracelets I’ve ever received. Also a huge thank you to the incredible crew for being so hardworking and talented.”

The former Disney star also shared a special message for Taylor. “I feel so lucky to witness the magic that is you and this tour,” she gushed. “There is truly no one like you and there never will be! I love you with all my heart and I will cherish this taybrina era (and all the eras) till the end of time.”

The “Karma” singer is currently on hiatus from the tour and will not return to the road until the European leg kicks off on May 9. She has been keeping a low-profile in recent weeks and reportedly took a private vacation to the Bahamas with Travis, 34, earlier this month. The couple also attended an exclusive Oscars afterparty on March 10.

“[Travis] moved into [Taylor’s] Los Angeles mansion while she’s on break from her tour,” a source exclusively revealed to Life & Style . “They’re nesting and loving it.” The insider also said that things “seem to be going very smoothly” as the A-list couple “tests the waters” of living together.

‘invisible string’: The soundtrack to my best friendships

Illustration of a polaroid of three girls hugging with a silver string tied around them. Around the Polaroid are other photos.

In Japanese folklore, the invisible “ red thread of fate ” ties two soulmates together throughout their lives, even if their paths have yet to cross. When I was 16 years old, I first heard Taylor Swift’s “invisible string,” a song exploring this very idea. Although the song’s lyrics and the Japanese theory itself seemingly allude to lovers, I feel that they perfectly describe my relationships with my three best friends. I feel that we were predestined for our bond all along.

Time, curious time/

Gave me no compasses, gave me no signs/

Were there clues I didn’t see?/

And isn’t it just so pretty to think/

All along there was some/

Invisible string/

Tying you to me?

I remember everyone’s birthday, no matter how long ago I met them. I remember everyone’s middle names and the names of everyone’s childhood pets. But I cannot remember a time when I didn’t know Alison.

Our paths first crossed early in life, during the days of sock puppets and the ABCs. Our parents were friends and our siblings were friends and we were friends. Alison and I dressed up as princesses for each other’s birthday parties and hid from men in suits (they were spies).

We played in parks, dissected the Percy Jackson books and snuck extra donut holes from the concession table at church. Well, she snuck them. I was too scared to steal donut holes in God’s house, especially with my parents there. The first time I ever used a flat iron was on Alison’s hair. I wonder if she knows that, since I sure didn’t tell her in the moment. Once, Alison and I picked up an iPad mid-playdate to film our Barbies’ incredibly convoluted backstories and I made my first movie.

When we were 9, Alison moved to my school. I loved being school friends — she had loved her old ones. We were assigned different teachers and we made different friends. Since the day I met her, there has never been a time when Alison and I weren’t friends. But this was where our separation began.

After spending a concerning amount of time on VSCO at 14 years old, I became convinced that high school would be the best years of my life. But as much as I loved the 6 a.m. wake-ups and spending a considerable amount of time in close quarters with boys who would laugh during my women’s rights presentations; something about high school just wasn’t my favorite. I had individual friends, but none of them were friends with each other, so I couldn’t even do any of the cool stuff high schoolers were supposed to do — at least, according to VSCO.  So when 16-year-old me heard Alison mention she was going to the library to crunch for the Advanced Placement Government exam, I asked her if I could tag along — being study buddies could be fun. Following an embarrassing walk back to the car after we realized the library was closed, I asked Alison to hang out that weekend. We have not been apart since.

Alison and I dress up for each other’s birthday parties. We play volleyball in the park and walk on the trail in the summertime. I go to her house to do her hair for weddings and parties — I’m handy with a flat iron now. On my last birthday, she bought me the script for Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” and we always send each other edits of the Percy Jackson show. Alison took up the space in my life that the friend group I never had didn’t.

We’ve never not been friends. We’ve always been tied. But Alison came back when I needed her most. I think I did the same for her.

Time, wondrous time/

Gave me the blues and then purple pink skies/

And it’s cool, baby, with me/

And isn’t it just so pretty to think/

I don’t know why I used to have a weird thing about my yearbooks, but I did. If I was bored at nighttime or in the summer, I would pull them off the shelves and flip through the pages, eyeing the pictures of school events and reading the signatures my elementary school classmates had left me the year before. But I would always end up back at the one page I dreamed of being in — the school district art show. A small dream in retrospect, but my dream nonetheless. I wanted to be just like the blonde girl in the picture — smiling proudly next to my art.

I didn’t meet that girl or know her name until three years later. I want to personally thank random public school seating charts for the good they’ve done in my life. After an assignment that included listing our favorite movie, I noted that the girl next to me had put “Soul Surfer” on her page. That was so much cooler than what I had put down — which was nothing since I didn’t have someone to help me navigate my indecisive nature yet.

I don’t remember how or when it happened, but within a few months, I had a best friend. Someone to watch old Disney movies with or to exchange favorite music videos with on our parents’ computers. I first watched “Pitch Perfect” at Daisy’s house; that still feels like my initiation into teenhood.

Daisy had a scrapbook in her room in middle school, each page filled with a different idea for her bucket list. I don’t know if I ever considered that I could have real adventures until I met her.

Early high school was the worst time of my life to date, but I had Daisy. A global pandemic hit and I lost contact with half of my friends, but I had Daisy. I left high school, left home and left about 80 old versions of myself behind, but I have Daisy.

When I ask my mom who her best friend is, there is a moment of hesitation. She has a best friend for a few different contexts — one from back home, a couple from the town she lives in and probably one or two from periods in her life I don’t know much about. My dad, however, does not hesitate at all.  He tells me his best friend’s name almost the second he hears the question. I never hesitate when I am asked who my best friend is, either.

I often joke that Daisy is like my wife. I think what I mean by this is that I’m committed to her wholeheartedly. No matter where she goes or which version of herself she’s currently living, I know I will love her. In a world where I often have to take time alone to recharge and don’t feel like myself after too much time with people, Daisy is my reset button. I come away from a talk with her feeling more myself than I did when I was alone.

I made it into the art show for a picture I had drawn of a chameleon. I was excited about this because I love “Tangled,” which I watched curled up with a bowl of popcorn on Daisy’s living room couch. I send Daisy any videos I see from the “Pitch Perfect” series and I keep journals filled with the memories from adventures I never would have had if it weren’t for the inspiration I got from her. No matter how far apart we are (and it’s usually far), I’m tied to my best friend.

Gold was the color of the leaves/

When I showed you around Centennial Park/

Hell was the journey but it brought me heaven

Considering I met most of my favorite people before my tenth birthday, I can’t say I was expecting to have my life changed in college. At least not by a person. Obviously, I wanted to make friends and I’m glad I did, but I didn’t think I would find one of my best friends here, of all places.

My second semester at the University of Michigan, I met April. After one night of swapping stories with a group of mutual friends, it was clear that our connection was unusual. We grew up one town over from one another and both have roommate group chats with the same oddly specific name. We both own Lego keychains of Spider-Ham from “Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse” and are dog people who would only get a cat under the circumstance that it was black and we could name it “Salem” like the cat from “Sabrina the Teenage Witch.”

By the time I’d known April for a year, I could comfortably call her one of my best friends. She understands the niche scenario I’m about to explain before I even open my mouth. College is a lonely time — April always knows how to make it less that way.

Sometimes, I’ll tell April something I want to do, and she will tell me “do it.” Like in my situation with Daisy, “doing” the thing will usually have never occurred to me. I think half the reason I do anything at all is because I have people to make proud. I have explored new places, joined new groups and become a better version of myself because April gets me out of my comfort zone. Conversely, when she accepts that a situation is going to be OK, or that she doesn’t need to keep everyone happy all of the time, I know I have gotten her out of hers.

April and I truly put the “invisible” in “invisible string.” I didn’t know she was just miles away my entire childhood, but we came together when it was time.

Taylor Swift nearly falls off the roof of her Folklore cabin during Tokyo concert: 'My life flashed before my eyes'

"What a great night in Tokyo!'

trip of my life taylor swift

Taylor Swift is shaking it off after a scary incident on stage at an Eras Tour stop in Tokyo on Friday.

During the Folklore set of her show, during which she sings on a moss-covered cabin, she was making her way off the roof of the structure when she tripped. She nearly fell before catching herself in time — but she needed to pause afterwards and address the audience.

Christopher Jue/TAS24/Getty Images

"I almost fell off the Folklore cabin, but I didn't, and that's... the lesson," she told the crowd , laughing. "My life flashed before my eyes. Yeah, no, I'm good. It's all good. Everything's fine. Everything's great!"

At a loss for words, she continued, "I'm just so happy that I didn't fall off the Folklore cabin, you know what I mean? What a great night in Tokyo! It was right as I was taking my harness off, too. It was really just, so, anyway..."

Ever the pro, Swift then moved things right along with her planned remarks before diving into a performance of the Folklore track "Betty."

It's been an eventful week for the singer, who broke a Grammy record for the most Album of the Year wins ever by an artist — for her 2022 album, Midnights — on Sunday. She also snagged the award for Best Pop Vocal Album, also for Midnights , and while accepting it took the opportunity to surprise fans with the title and release date of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department .

Swift revealed the tracklist for the album on Monday as she headed to Tokyo to kick off her 2024 Eras Tour dates. Then, on Wednesday, Disney announced that the full Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film is finally coming to streaming — with four bonus surprise songs — March 15 on Disney+.

The Errors Tour continues! Taylor Swift laughed off another near-miss as she tripped and almost tumbled while performing in Tokyo, Japan, on Friday.

The singer caught herself and let out a giggle as she descended down a set of stairs during the Folklore  segment of her Eras Tour.

"I almost fell off the Folklore cabin, but I didn’t, and that's the lesson," she told the crowd . "My life flashed before my eyes. It’s all good, everything's fine, everything's great. I'm just so happy that I didn't fall off the Folklore cabin, you know what I mean. What a great night in Tokyo."

The mishap comes just two days after another more subtle blunder, as the singer nearly slipped off her chair while performing "Vigilante S**t."

Swift seems to be getting her sea legs back after a two-month hiatus from performing, wrapping the 2023 South American leg of her tour on Nov. 26 in Brazil.

The 34-year-old songstress is no stranger to onstage mishaps -- and continues to be a good sport about them. She even included a highlight reel of her tour's most chaotic moments   during the credits of her Eras Tour concert film .

Swift will wrap her four-night stint at the Tokyo Dome on Saturday, Feb. 10. After that, fans expect to see her make a prompt return to the United States to attend Super Bowl LVIII , where her boyfriend, Travis Kelce , and his Kansas City Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas, Nevada. The "Karma" singer has been a mainstay at Kelce's games during her time off from touring.

Following her dates in Japan, Swift is set to perform in Australia, Singapore, France, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland, and Austria.

In the fall, she'll return to North America for shows in Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Toronto, and Vancouver.

Meanwhile, she's gearing up to release her 11th studio album -- The Tortured Poets Department -- on April 19. She shared the news on stage at the 66th GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, after taking home her milestone 13th trophy.

"OK, this is my 13th GRAMMY, which is my lucky number. I don't know if I’ve ever told you that," Swift quipped. "I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way, but I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans."

Swift opted "to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I have been keeping from you for the last two years," which is the upcoming album drop.

Then, during her Feb. 7 show in Tokyo, Swift revealed exactly when she started working on  Tortured Poets  and how she's been able to turn around an eye-popping number of albums at breakneck speed.

"I've been working on  Tortured Poets  since right after I turned in  Midnights , " she told the audience, clarifying that albums are submitted "months in advance" so they can be finalized.

Her last album, Midnights,  was released in October 2022 and, on Sunday, won Album of the Year at the GRAMMYs. The feat made Swift  the first artist to ever receive the honor four times , after she previously won for  Fearless, 1989  and  Folklore . In the time since  Midnights  dropped, Swift has also notably released  two rerecorded albums :  Speak Now (Taylor's Version)  and the record-breaking  1989 (Taylor's Version) .

"I've been working on it for about two years," she said of  Tortured Poets . "I kept working on it throughout the U.S. tour and when it was perfect, in my opinion, when it was good enough for you, I finished it."

She continued, "I am so, so excited that soon you'll get to hear it, soon we'll get to experience that together, and I'm just like, I'm over the moon about the fact that you guys care about my music. It still blows my mind. I love doing this, I know I keep saying that, but that's because it's true.'"

Swift joked that she's been asked on numerous occasions, "Why do you make so many albums?" She replies, "Man, because I love it. I love it so much."

She added, "I'm having fun, leave me alone."

Whoopsie daisy!

Taylor Swift tripped and nearly fell down the stairs during her concert in Tokyo Friday night.

Video shared on social media shows the “Karma” singer walking down a set of stairs, which are part of her “Folklore” cabin, in an ethereal-looking dress before stumbling and catching herself.

“My life flashed before my eyes,” she later told the crowd with a laugh. “It’s all good, everything’s fine, everything’s great. I’m just so happy that I didn’t fall.”

Swifties, of course, having lovingly dubbed the pop star’s Eras Tour the “Errors Tour” as she has experienced a few gaffes during performances.

Most, however, were simply concerned about her safety.

“I’m really glad that she wears that safety harness strap because if she didn’t have it and she lost her balance just a little more that could ended in a nasty fall,” commented one fan.

“doe [sic] she have a safety belt?? that’s dangerous,” observed another.

“laugh aside but that’s actually so dangerous,” tweeted a third fan.

The latest blunder comes just two days after Swift nearly fell off her chair while performing “Vigilante S–t.”

Ever in incredible shape from her grueling training , Swift kept her balance as she remained in a squat position while reaching a hand back to steady herself.

While she may be a tad rusty from her two-month break from the tour, Swift continues to perform sold-out shows for 55,000 fans in Japan.

She will, however, depart Asia to fly to Las Vegas to attend the 2024 Super Bowl this weekend and support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce , who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Swifties will have all eyes on the “Cats” actress Sunday, though it is unclear where she will be seated for the big game. Presumably, she will hang out with Travis’ family, including his brother, Jason Kelce, and mom, Donna Kelce , but even Mama Kelce is not sure where they will be placed.

“You can understand that the boxes in Vegas are multimillion dollars, so I have a feeling I’m not in a box,” she said on the “Today” show earlier this week.

“I have a feeling I’m in the stands , so far as I know I’m in the stands with everybody else because it is a pricey Super Bowl.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were recently spotted on a romantic getaway to the Bahamas for some well-deserved alone time.

The couple - who began dating in summer 2023 - jetted off to Harbour Island in the Bahamas over the weekend, in photos circulating social media. In one viral photo , the 14-time Grammy winner was seen kissing the Kansas City Chiefs tight end in the ocean as she held a drink in her hand. Another image showed the pair lounging on the beach, with Swift wearing a yellow bikini and sunglasses as Kelce donned a pair of blue swim shorts.

According to Page Six , the couple enjoyed their stay at a luxurious estate on Harbour Island called Rosalita House - where Kylie Jenner famously vacationed in March 2020. The stunning beachfront villa boasts six bedrooms, seven and a half bathrooms, and an entire wait staff all for the whopping price of nearly $15,000 per night.

Located on Harbour Island, which is known for its pink sand beaches, Rosalita House is nestled above a 25-foot high dune offering complete privacy for the notoriously discreet “Cruel Summer” singer. The villa sleeps 12 people and includes a pool, terraces, gardens, and a gym. It also comes with a private chef and sous chef, three butlers, three housekeepers, three gardeners, and a security guard on duty at night.

“Rosalita is a stunning, palatial, beachfront villa in Harbour Island, a paradisal strip of beach northeast of Eleuthera, where cars are forbidden and the sands are pink,” the website states. Back in 2020, House Beautiful reported that a minimum five-night stay at Rosalita House costs around £11,275 a night, or $14,505.63.

The villa consists of a main house with five bedrooms, four of which have king beds and one with a queen bed. “The décor is exquisite throughout, from the original artwork on the walls, to the lovely parquet floors and charming palms of carved wood,” a description of the main house reads. Palm Cottage, the guest house, has an additional suite with a king bed. Both the primary house and the guest cottage have private terraces with stunning views, while the other rooms have private entrances from the veranda or garden.

The heated 60 x 20-foot swimming pool is situated behind the property, alongside “a large selection of sun chairs, loungers, and a lovely covered pavilion”. A set of stairs leads guests to the beach, where sun chairs and umbrellas are set up daily for use.

For dining, guests have the option to eat meals inside the home’s salon, on the upper veranda, in the beachfront cabana, or by the pool. Along with a private chef, the kitchen comes fully stocked with top-tier appliances, a vegetable garden on the property, and waters filled with local fish. The daily menu for guests at Rosalita House includes a light buffet breakfast, which can consist of overnight oats, toast, fruit, hard boiled eggs, and a selection of jams; family-style lunch served by the pool; and evening service with pre-dinner cocktail hour and a more formal dinner meal.

The house comes fully equipped with a house manager, who can help make restaurant reservations or organise off-island excursions for guests. For days spent on the private beach, Rosalita House offers a variety of paddle boards, kayaks, beach bikes, snorkel equipment, and beach toys to put to good use. During their Bahamas vacation, Swift and Kelce were pictured taking the rental home’s 32-foot boat, called “PrimeTime”, out for a joyride. Meanwhile, in the villa’s fitness center is a Peloton spin bike, yoga mats, and weights for lifting.

Swift and Kelce’s luxury Bahamas vacation comes in the midst of their packed schedules. The “Anti-Hero” singer recently wrapped up the Asia-Pacific leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour, which saw Swift perform four nights at Japan’s Tokyo Dome, followed by Melbourne and Sydney, Australia, as well as Singapore.

She will embark on the European leg of her Eras Tour in May with two shows in Paris, France, closing out the Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium in London on 17 August 2024.

Meanwhile, Kelce received some much needed relaxation in the Bahamas after he helped lead the Kansas City Chiefs to their recent Super Bowl LVIII victory against the San Francisco 49ers.

My Personal Experience With Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

It’s been a long time coming. Taylor Swift has once again taken the stage by storm with her record breaking ‘The Eras Tour.’ I was lucky enough to attend the show not once but two times. Join me as I take you through the best night(s) of my life.

Seeing Taylor Swift with my best friends was the best night of my life.

Drop everything now.

After five long years, Taylor Alison Swift has returned to the stage.

Taylor Swift is one of the most well known names in pop culture to date. Since her self-titled debut album in 2006, Swift has taken the music industry by storm. With 10 original albums spanning across several genres, she is renowned for her songwriting and cultural influence of the music industry as a whole. Swift is notable for her widespread popularity, and her domination of music charts.

The singer-songwriter currently stands as the most streamed female artist on Spotify and one of the best-selling musicians, in addition to being named in Rolling Stone ’s list of the 100 greatest songwriters of all time . Swift has received many awards throughout her career, earning twelve Grammys, three of which tie her for the record number of most Album of the Year awards.

One noteworthy quality of Swift’s work is her ever-changing style. As you listen from album to album, you can see Swift constantly evolving in all aspects, from the type of music she writes, the sound of her voice, and the clothing that she wears. Each album tells a different story and represents different times throughout her life. Fans have separated these different periods of her music and life into different ‘eras,’ correlating with the type of music she was releasing at the time.

Swift last took the stage during her 2018 Reputation Stadium Tour in support of her sixth studio album Reputation . With 53 shows from Glendale, Arizona to Tokyo, the world tour quickly broke records, becoming the third highest-grossing female artist’s concert tour of all time and the highest-grossing tour ever in the United States and North America. Ticketing site Stubhub claimed that it was the best selling female artist’s tour they had seen in the United Kingdom. The tour was immortalized on Netflix later that year with a concert film, documenting the final show of the U.S. leg of the tour.

Two years later, Swift announced a world tour commemorating her seventh studio album, Lover , but the show was ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. In lieu of performing, Swift spent her time in quarantine writing and releasing two brand new albums, Folklore and Evermore , within five months of each other . Folklore went on to bring Swift her third Album of the Year award at the 2021 Grammys. In the next two years, not only did Swift release re-recordings of her albums Fearless and Red , both featuring several unreleased tracks, but she also released an entirely new album titled Midnights , which broke a slew of records.

All together, Swift has released six separate albums, four of which were completely original, since her last tour. Due to the popularity she has amassed over the past four years, on top of her previously massive fanbase, high demand was anticipated for the next time she went on stage.

All expectations were exceeded when Swift announced her 2023 Eras Tour . Her ever growing acclaim paired with the success of her previous tour enabled many to predict that the Eras Tour would stand to break numerous records. Taylor Swift first told fans of the upcoming show on Good Morning America , on November 1st 2023. Swift described the tour as a “ journey through the musical eras of my career (both past and present). ” The original tour schedule consisted of 27 shows across the United States, and a promise of international dates soon to come. Only three days later, Swift expanded the tour by eight more dates, and by the following week added 17 more, bringing the U.S leg of the Eras Tour to a total of 52 shows, equivalent to the number of shows for her entire world-wide Reputation Stadium Tour.

Unfortunately, the eventual sale of tickets proved to be a colossal failure. When the tour was originally announced, Ticketmaster allowed for people to sign up to be a ‘verified fan,’ giving them a chance to earn a code for the tour’s presale. According to Ticketmaster, about 1.5 million codes were sent out, and of the lucky recipients, those who had ordered from Swift’s website would receive a supposed ‘boost’ in the queue. When the day of the first sale came, an alleged 14 million people entered the site, causing the website to crash and many fans to be kicked out of waiting rooms. By the end of the day, most fans found themselves without tickets and prices of those still available skyrocketed into the thousands. Fans nicknamed the debacle as ‘ The Great War ,’ in reference to one of Swift’s songs. By the end of the week, the general sale was canceled as Ticketmaster and Swift scrambled to clean up the mess.

The fiasco sparked mass controversy surrounding Ticketmaster. Public criticism of the corporation grew tremendously as consumers started attacking Ticketmaster’s outrageous fees and their power in the ticketing market. The outrage led several state attorney generals and the United States Department of Justice to begin investigations into the company. Many are calling for the revert of Ticketmasters 2010 merger with Live Nation, which enabled the corporation to become a monopoly amongst the ticket market.

Unlike many others, I was lucky enough to score multiple tickets to Swift’s East Rutherford shows. Both my mother, uncle and I received presale codes for the original sale in November 2022. The three of us spent all day in queue, and while my uncle and I were both kicked out several times, my mom was able to claim us tickets. By the end of the ‘Great War,’ I was a lucky possessor of four upper bowl tickets to see Taylor Swift at Metlife Stadium on May 27th, 2023. Although my tickets were only a side view, I was blessed to get them at a semi-reasonable price and face little conflict doing so. At the same time, at around $135 each with fees, the tickets were almost over double what they were originally valued; yet, compared to how much most tickets went on to cost, mine were relatively cheap.

Since the general sale was canceled, there were many tickets left unclaimed, so over the next few months Ticketmaster sent out opportunities to request a purchase to verified fans. If you received one of these e-mails you were able to give Ticketmaster a price range and they would try to find two tickets for you within that range that you were then obligated to buy.

A little over three months after the presale my personal Ticketmaster account was sent one of these elusive e-mails. This allowed me to claim two lower bowl tickets at face value for around $250 with fees. Unfortunately these tickets were for the same date that I had originally planned on attending. Luckily for me, fellow Bronx Science student Ava Conner ’24 had similar tickets for the 28th and was open for trade. That is how I ended up attending the Era’s Tour two days in a row, first with three of my closest friends and once again with my mother.

Despite my stress, getting to the show was nowhere near as hectic as I thought it would be. Both nights I took the subway to Penn Station where I boarded a train to Secaucus and got on another train to Meadowlands that lets you out right next to MetLife stadium. Although the New Jersey Transit trains were decently crowded and you were not guaranteed a seat, it was an easy ride being only one stop on each train. At Secaucus, the station was prepared with workers that helped direct everyone to the right trains. As long as you followed the sea of glitter, you were sure to be on the right path.

Once I stepped foot off the train, it was easy to find the nearest gate by following the hoard of other concert goers. Once I found my way through the crowd, I was able to sort myself into one of the lines through security. On Saturday night, I arrived right around when the gates opened so my friends and I had to wait in line for a while, but the next night when I arrived about half an hour later, we only stood in line for a short period of time. There were workers spread throughout wherever you went, so it was easy to get instructions, if needed.

The first step of getting into the stadium was security. They had the typical metal detector setup with a table to check everyone’s bag. They were pretty thorough in checking that no open bottles of water were taken inside. After this you simply scanned your tickets, and then received your complimentary light up wristband on your way to enter the stadium.

Getting through the stadium was utter chaos. It was fairly easy to get up to the third floor by escalator, but both nights getting to my seat was a complete hassle. The stadium was crowded with food and merch lines, along with others trying to find their seats. At certain points, I was unable to move as there were so many people. This might have been one of the most stressful parts of the night, as everyone was packed together, constantly bumping into each other.

trip of my life taylor swift

There were several merchandise trucks outside the stadium, along with the flagship store that was setup as a merchandise site and was available for early sale as of the Thursday before her Friday concert. Unfortunately, all of these lines were incredibly long and took about an hour to get through. Luckily, my mother and I noticed the line speeding up, and she was able to get into the flagship store in about 15 minutes. By the time she got through, the store was out of stock for most items, but my mother was lucky enough to find the last medium of an item they claimed to have ran out of. Unfortunately this caused us to miss parts of the opening acts. Although I’m glad I was able to get the sweatshirt I wanted, I can’t say with confidence that it was worth missing out on this part of the show.

The merch lines inside weren’t much better, and even if the lines were slightly shorter, they had a smaller supply, and were more likely to sell out. On all three tiers of the stadium, the merch stands had lines that went on too far to know how long they went. Once again, my luck came through when I bumped into a friend who helped me skip an hour long line, by letting me join her. This allowed me to secure merchandise for me and my friends also attending that night, Jaiden Hirsch ’24 and Daniella Ginberg ’24, even though once again most items and sizes were already sold out.

The fastest way to get merch was my friends’ strategy the first night I went, which was to go while Taylor Swift performed. This took only about 15 minutes, but required them missing an entire era each. Personally, I could never give up any part of the show, but they both were able to get what they needed and later buy some of Phoebe Bridgers’ merch with no wait on the way out of the stadium.

One of the many amazing aspects of this tour, which Swift proudly bragged about during the show, is that this tour has an incredible lineup of openers. Throughout the U.S. leg there are nine different openers for the tour, two performing at each performance. This line up includes bands Paramore, MUNA, and Haim, along with artists Gracie Abrams, Phoebe Bridgers, OWENN, girl in red, GAYLE and beabadoobee.

trip of my life taylor swift

The first opener on May 27th, 2023 was Gracie Abrams . Abrams is a singer songwriter whose debut album ‘Good Riddance’ came out earlier this year and who is also known for her EPs ‘minor’ and ‘ This is What it Feels Like .’ Abrams began the show with four of her most popular songs, bringing life and excitement onto the stage. Abrams has been adamant about her love for Taylor Swift in the past and has become popular amongst the Swiftie population. One of the best parts about her set was during her song ‘21’ when she pointed the mic towards the crowd for us all to scream ‘sorry’ along with the song, a tradition she has done throughout her own tours. Abrams can only be described as radiant, exactly what you would imagine when thinking of a sweetheart. It was truly inspiring to see the young artist shine in a stadium full of fans.

The first opener for the 28th was Owenn. Sadly, I was still getting food and merch when he went on stage and missed it, but it is something I immensely regret, especially since this was Owenn’s first night on the Eras Tour. Owenn is not new to working with Taylor as he was a backup for Swift during her Reputation tour and starred beside her for her ‘Lover’ music video. Owenn has worked with a long list of stars including Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Lil Nas X, Alicia Keys, Demi Lovato and Megan Thee Stallion as a dancer and choreographer before starting his own music career in 2021.

For the second opener, I was blessed to not only see THE Phoebe Bridgers twice, but also witness her last show on the Eras Tour and for her album Punisher . I cannot describe the excitement that filled my body as she entered the stage. Bridgers was one of the most favored openers for the tour, as the two fanbases regularly mix. In 2021, the release of Swift’s rerecording Red (Taylors Version) , included a brand new song “From the Vault,’ featuring Bridgers, making her the first female artist to have a full verse while featured on one of Swift’s songs.

Bridgers opened her set both nights with one of my personal favorites, ‘Motion Sickness,’ and immediately drew in the crowd. She radiates talent and has such a warm energy to her. The second she took the stage, I was immediately taken into a trance; even going back to watch videos of her performance later gave me a euphoric feeling. I struggle to find words to adequately describe Phoebe Bridgers; she is truly a wonderful artist. She was able to sing the most heartbreaking lines while still bringing joy through her beautiful melodies and immense talent. She so easily connected herself with the crowd, always speaking out to the dads in the audience before performing the catchy yet deep song relating to her relationship with her now deceased father, Kyoto. Her final song of her set, ‘I Know the End’ ensured that the audience loses their voices before Swift even goes on, as Bridgers encouraged the entire audience to let out a therapeutic scream towards the end of the song.

IMG_1868

Finally, as Jewish and lesbian icon Leslie Gore’s ‘You Don’t Own Me’ fills the stadium, a timer displayed on the large screen begins to count down and build up the anticipation of Taylor Swift’s entrance. Then, as the countdown ended and the crowd grew louder, the back wall of the stage began to open up, letting out several backup dancers who were carrying some flowing tapestries, waving them up and down. The speakers began to blast the iconic “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince,” repeating the lyric “it’s been a long time coming,” the perfect opening for the show we’ve been waiting for five years. Throughout this you could hear clips of Swift’s different album titles playing, setting up the scene for the trip throughout her career that was about to begin. Eventually, as the dancers reached the middle of the stage, they all put their pastel tapestry together, opening up to reveal Swift who had risen from underneath the stage, reminding me of the Birth of Venus .

After finishing up Miss Americana, Swift led into “Cruel Summer,” preparing her fans to sing the chorus with her. Fans have often expressed that the song should have been released as a single, and have never been shy of their love for the song, especially the bridge. Swift knew exactly how to hype up the crowd, showing how she really knows her fans.

trip of my life taylor swift

For the next three-plus hours, Swift took us on a journey throughout her career. The event was truly magical with her elaborate sets and 16 costume changes, featuring outfits from designers such as Versace and Oscar de la Renta. Each piece perfectly embodied the eras they represent and are truly astounding to look at. Along with her costumes and physical sets, the stadium also featured beautiful visuals on the screens and colorful lights, some of which came from the fans’ wristbands that were handed out as we entered. Depending on how high up in the stadium you are, you could also see visuals on the extended stage floor itself, such as a massive guitar during Fearless or the appearance of glass shattering during Delicate. The physical stage itself added to the show, moving up and down, lifting Swift throughout the show. Swift’s performance had a wonderful mix of intricately choreographed songs, to her just roaming the stage, singing directly to the fans before her. Every moment of the show was a well thought out delivery.

The entire show was mesmerizing and well put together, guaranteed to entertain even those who aren’t huge Swifties. The concert could be described as one huge dance party. You don’t need a great view of Taylor or the stage in order to enjoy the experience, all you need is the people around you. The Eras Tour is a show where the fans are encouraged to sing along with every line and have fun with those around you. It was empowering to yell along with 74,000 strangers, all of us connected by the show. Part of the experience depends who you are there with. Although I think it would be amazing no matter what, having my three best friends with me the first night helped make it one of the best days of my life. There is nothing like sharing something like this with the people you love most.

Even though you know this is her career and she’s put on this show dozens of times, there was just something about the way she presents herself that just felt so genuine. Her general attitude and expressions when on the stage makes you feel like she can hear every clap and cheer, and despite all her fame and success, all her fans matter to her.

trip of my life taylor swift

Although I could give a thorough review of every second of the concert, I will only deliver a few highlights. The most heart-wrenching part of the show was Taylor’s performance of Marjorie . For those who don’t know, the Evermore song is dedicated to her late grandmother. One of the most beautiful aspects of the song is that they were able to include a clip of her grandmother’s opera singing, allowing her to sing alongside her granddaughter in sold out stadiums. Fans have taken to lighting up the stadium with flashlights in tribute to Marjorie. This song easily brings tears to the eyes as it elicits so many different emotions. Directly after this, Swift performs Champagne Problems , which fans then fight to give it record breaking applause. I am honored to have been part of the longest standing ovation after the song, at almost four while minutes. As much as I don’t want to only focus on the Evermore section of the night, I must praise the performance of Tolerate It . This was easily my favorite display of the show, as Swift simply knelt on a long dining table singing directly into the heart of one of her backup dancers. A more joyous part of the night was during the Red era, where Taylor chooses a new fan every night to give her hat too during 22 . One lovely moment that was unique to my specific concert was when Swift brought out Phoebe Bridgers to sing their duet Nothing New for the final time as it was Bridgers’ last night on the tour.

trip of my life taylor swift

One of the most talked about moments of the Eras Tour is Swift’s surprise songs. At every show, Swift plays two different songs every night acoustically, one on guitar and one on piano. Fans from all over will tune in from live streams to see what songs are played. My first night I was graced with the songs Holy Ground and False God from her Red and Lover albums respectively. The following night Swift ironically sang Welcome to New York on her final night at Metlife, and then went on to sing her first repeat surprise song, Clean , both from 1989. This set is just full of anticipation and excitement and really makes every individual show unique. For the final surprise of the night, Swift brought out young rapper Ice Spice to sing their remix of Karma as the final song of the show.

In terms of how my two different nights differed, I can honestly say that where I sat barely mattered. On the first night, I was at the front of the highest tier of the stadium and sat partially behind the stage. This meant that I mainly had to follow Taylor Swift through the screens around the stadium, and at times, she was completely obstructed from me. The biggest downside of being behind the stage was missing the beautiful visuals on the main screen. Other than that, I think my seating played a small role in my experience. On my second night there, I was lucky to have third row tickets in the lower bowl, right around where the stage jutted out, meaning that I was only 50 feet away from Taylor Swift at times. It was obviously slightly more thrilling being able to actually see her and be so close. I think the biggest perk of being so close to the stage was that I was able to collect some of the confetti released during the end of the show and during Taylor’s performance of All Too Well (10 minute version) .

trip of my life taylor swift

I believe that this show was perfectly crafted. With that said, one part in which I was disappointed was the Speak Now era of the show. For this, Swift only performed one song, Enchanted , off her third album. This may just be because it is one of my favorite albums, but I feel like there are so many songs off her only self-written album that would be perfect for the stage. It is also hard not to want more from the Reputation section of the night. While her act for this album was impeccable, it is hard not to want every song to be performed as Reputation was made to be played on stage. She also fails to sing any songs of her debut album, Taylor Swift , which feels dishonest to the idea of a tour exploring her entire career. That my only complaint about the three plus hour concert was that I wanted even more, speaks to how spectacular Swift’s Eras Tour truly is.

It was empowering to yell along with 74,000 strangers, all of us connected by the show.

Taylor Swift News: Pop Superstar Wins Historic Album of the Year Award and Announces a New Album at the 2024 Grammys

“I would love to tell you that this is the best moment of my life, but I feel this happy when I finish a song, or when I crack the code to a bridge that I love, or when I’m shot-listing a music video, or when I’m rehearsing with my dancers or my band or getting ready to go to Tokyo to play a show,” the pop star said during her acceptance speech at the February 4 ceremony. “All I want to do is keep being able to do this.”

It wasn’t the only big news from Swift of the night. While onstage collecting the Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights , the singer surprised fans by announcing a new album: The Tortured Poets Department .

“My brand new album comes out April 19. It’s called The Tortured Poets Department ,” Swift said. She immediately posted the news on her social media accounts, including photos of what could be the new album’s cover as well as a short note that concludes “All’s fair in love and poetry... Sincerely, The Chairman of The Tortured Poets Department.”

Swift restarts her already record-breaking Eras Tour in Tokyo on February 7. Before the concert series is scheduled to wrap in December, she will perform in 16 countries, including a handful of dates in the United States. Fans continue to speculate on whether she will be able to attend the 2024 Super Bowl on February 11 to watch her boyfriend, Travis Kelce , and the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers.

Now a pop megastar with 14 Grammys to her name, she is the first artist to win Album of the Year four times. Named Time ’s 2023 Person of the Year, Swift is currently performing on her record-breaking Eras Tour and is dating professional football player Travis Kelce . FULL NAME: Taylor Alison Swift BORN: December 13, 1989 BIRTHPLACE: Reading, Pennsylvania ASTROLOGICAL SIGN: Sagittarius

Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13, 1989, in Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift spent her early years with her parents, Scott and Andrea, and brother, Austin, on the family’s Christmas tree farm in nearby Wyomissing. “I had the most magical childhood, running free and going anywhere I wanted to in my head,” she told Rolling Stone . She learned to ride horses and even competed for a time, but a greater passion soon took root.

Swift followed in the musical footsteps of her grandmother Marjorie Finlay, who was a professional opera singer. By age 10, Swift was singing at a variety of local events, including fairs and contests. She sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game at age 11 and began writing her own songs and learning guitar at 12 years old. Her early music idols included Shania Twain and The Chicks.

To pursue her music career, Swift often visited Nashville, Tennessee, the country music capital. There, she cowrote songs and tried to land a recording contract. Noting her dedication, her family moved to nearby Hendersonville when she was 13 in an attempt to further young Swift’s career. She attended Hendersonville High School before finishing out her education through the home schooling program of Aaron Academy, a private Christian school, once her musical career took off.

One of today’s biggest pop stars, Swift has worked her way from performing at local venues in Tennessee to commanding stadiums full of Swifties—her adoring fans—on international tours. A stellar performance at The Bluebird Café in Nashville helped her get a contract with Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Records at age 14.

She spent her early career as a country musician, and her first single, “ Tim McGraw ,” was named after one of the genre’s biggest stars. The 2006 song, which she wrote in her freshman year math class, became a Top 10 hit on Billboard’s country chart, quickly launching Swift into the spotlight. McGraw and fellow country music singer Faith Hill even brought Swift on their Soul2Soul tour the next year as an opening act. Reminiscing on the tour years later, McGraw told ET Canada , “Faith and I both knew that there was no stopping her. She’s a special talent.”

It wasn’t long before Swift began receiving critical praise for her work. The teenager won the Horizon Award from the Country Music Association (CMA) and the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Award for Top New Female Vocalist in 2007. The next year, she was nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys. She became the youngest artist to win the Grammy for Album of the Year, for Fearless in 2010.

The country music darling eventually began experimenting with genre. With her fifth album, 1989 , she decisively reintroduced herself as a pop musician. Her new sound excited fans, and the 2014 release is one of her most successful to date, spending 11 weeks atop the Billboard 200 and selling more than 1.2 million copies in its first week.

Not everything about her music changed, though. Personal experiences, including her romantic relationships, continue to fuel Swift’s songwriting. “I’m enthralled by relationships, and I love the drama in them, but that’s usually where it lives,” Swift told Rolling Stone in 2009, maintaining “I’m not a dramatic person.” Hardly the first musician to utilize this practice, the pop star usually doesn’t reveal who her song subjects are, unless they are family or friends. Instead, her loyal fans obsess over easter eggs in her lyrics and music videos to pinpoint a likely person.

Since March 2023, Swift has been performing on her headline-grabbing Eras Tour. It marks her sixth international tour, having first headlined her own concert series after the release of her award-winning sophomore album, Fearless . When presale tickets for the Eras Tour went live in November 2022, so many fans attempted to snag their seats that Ticketmaster canceled the general sale, leading to a congressional hearing about the debacle. Already one of the highest-grossing touring musicians as of July 2022, Swift has earned more than $1 billion on the Eras Tour so far—surpassing Elton John ’s record-setting farewell tour that spanned five years. The Eras Tour wraps in December 2024 after dozens more concerts, mostly abroad.

Swift’s successes in 2023 also include the release of the 1989 (Taylor’s Version) album and the record-setting concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour , two more No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, tying with Drake as the artist with the most Billboard Music Awards in history, dethroning Bad Bunny as Spotify’s most streamed artist of the year, and achieving billionaire status. All that culminated in Time naming her its 2023 Person of the Year. Swift is the fifth woman to receive the honor.

Early in 2024, Swift became the first artist to win the Grammy for Album of the Year four times, further cementing her place in the history books.

Swift has won 14 Grammy Awards out of 52 nominations.

She was first nominated in 2008 for Best New Artist. Although Amy Winehouse claimed the honor, 20-year-old Swift lived up to her promising career start by collecting four Grammys the next year. Fearless won Album of the Year and Best Country Album, and “White Horse” was named Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 2009.

Swift has now won Album of the Year four times: for Fearless , 1989 , folklore , and Midnights. She is the only artist to have accomplished this feat, setting the record in 2024. Midnights also won the award for Best Pop Vocal Album this year.

Even so, Swift has never won the top song honor of Song of the Year, though she has received a record seven nominations in the category. As for Best Country Song, the artist has won twice in five nominations; “Mean” earned the trophy the year after “White Horse” did.

The singer-songwriter has won a host of other accolades, including nine CMA Awards and eight ACM Awards. Both country music organizations have twice named her Entertainer of the Year. Since her first in 2009, Swift has taken home 23 Video Music Awards, second only to Beyoncé . Billboard named her Woman of the Year in 2012, one of Swift’s 29 awards from the publication.

In December 2023, Swift notched another first when she received her first Golden Globe Award nomination for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour . Her concert film competed in but didn’t win Cinematic and Box Office Achievement at the January 2024 ceremony.

Ever since her first single, “Tim McGraw,” in 2006, Swift’s music has found a home on the Billboard charts. As of February 5, 2024, she has had 232 songs grace the mainstream Hot 100. That includes 11 No. 1 hits and a record-setting 49 songs in the top 10; no woman has had more top 10 hits, and Swift only trails Drake among all artists. She also holds nine No. 1 Hot Country Songs, including “Our Song” and “Should’ve Said No.”

“Fearless” debuted at No. 9 on the mainstream chart in November 2008, marking Swift’s first top 10 song. Her first chart-topper was roughly four years away. That came in September 2012 with Grammy-nominated “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” Her other No 1. songs include:

  • “Shake It Off”
  • “Blank Space”
  • “Bad Blood”
  • “Look What You Made Me Do”
  • “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)”
  • “Anti-Hero”
  • “Cruel Summer”
  • “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) [From The Vault]”

At 10 minutes, 13 seconds, “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” is the longest No. 1 hit in history. “Shake It Off” is Swift’s only diamond-certified song, having sold the equivalent of 10 million copies.

To date, Swift has released 18 albums, including 10 original studio albums, four rereleases, and four live albums. Excluding those live recordings, every album since her sophomore effort, Fearless , has nabbed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for at least one week. In December 2023, she became the first living artist to have five albums rank among the chart’s top 10 simultaneously.

Her first album came in 2006 with Taylor Swift , and her most recent all-new music is on 2022’s Midnights . Her latest rerecorded album, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) , debuted in October 2023. Swift will release a new album, The Tortured Poets Department , on April 19, 2024.

Her albums, in order, are:

The young musician’s self-titled debut album was released in October 2006 when she was 16. Spurred on by the success of songs like “Tim McGraw,” “Teardrops on My Guitar,” and “Our Song,” it became a No. 1 country album in August 2007 and held the top spot for a total of 24 weeks. Indicating her future crossover success, the album also reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200. Taylor Swift has sold more than 7 million copies to date.

In November 2008, Swift released her next album, Fearless , which quickly hit the top of both the country and pop charts, marking her first No. 1 mainstream album. It maintained its apex ranking on the charts for weeks on end. By the end of the year, Swift had become 2008’s highest-selling country artist.

Now a Diamond-certified album, Fearless earned Swift her first Grammy Awards in January 2010. In addition to Best Country Album, it took home one of the night’s top honors with Album of the Year. The track “White Horse” won Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal Performance, while “You Belong With Me” was nominated for three Grammys. Also named Album of the Year at the CMA and ACM Awards, Fearless featured the top 10 hits “Love Story,” “Fearless,” and “Change.”

After skeptics doubted her involvement in her songwriting, Swift chose to write her next album alone. Speak Now came out in October 2010 and immediately found success. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and sold more than 1 million copies in its first week. Popular tracks included “Mine,” “Back To December,” “Speak Now,” and the Grammy-winning “Mean.” Swift was once again nominated for Best Country Album at the Grammys but didn’t win.

Edging her way into pop music, Swift followed with Red , which featured her first No. 1 single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and also topped 1 million in its first week of sales. The October 2012 release collected Grammy nominations for Album of the Year and Best Country Album. “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “Red,” and “Begin Again” were among its most popular songs.

With her next effort, Swift stepped outside her country music roots squarely into mainstream pop. She released 1989 in October 2014. It tied her record (set by Fearless ) for most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, produced three chart-topping singles, and moved more than 1.2 million copies in its first week. That made Swift the first artist to pass the 1 million mark in opening-week sales for three albums. She won her second Album of the Year award at the Grammys in February 2016 as well as Best Pop Vocal Album for her work.

In late August 2017, using an image of a snake, Swift revealed that she would release her sixth studio album, reputation , that November. Swift debuted the first single, “Look What You Made Me Do,” on August 24. In the music video, Swift played characters of all her misrepresentations. The video had more than 19 million views on YouTube within the first day.

Days before reputation ’s scheduled November 10 release, its secret tracklist was leaked to social media. Swift responded by posting the complete list to her Instagram page: 15 songs, including a collaborative effort with Ed Sheeran and rapper Future titled “End Game.” The two later appeared in the video for the track, which debuted in January 2018.

Reputation sold 1.05 million copies in the United States over its first four days. Along with giving the artist her fourth consecutive album to surpass 1 million in sales for its opening week, that total made reputation the top-selling album of 2017. Its success continued into 2018, surpassing 2 million in sales while generating the release of seven singles. By the end of the year, Grammy-nominated reputation had been honored with Favorite Pop/Rock Album at the American Music Awards and Top Selling Album at the Billboard Music Awards.

On April 26, 2019, Swift debuted “ME!” with Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco, along with a video of the duo singing and dancing amid a panoply of elaborate sets and swirling colors. It became the first single from her seventh studio album, Lover , with “You Need to Calm Down” and the title track also hitting the airwaves as singles over the next few months. The album was released in August.

In November, Swift claimed a whopping six wins at the American Music Awards, including Artist of the Year and Artist of the Decade honors. Swift also received her third consecutive Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album. A few weeks later, it was reported that Lover was the only album to sell 1 million copies in the U.S. in 2019.

Nearly four years later, Lover ’s “Cruel Summer” was promoted as her latest single amid her highly successful Eras tour. The song enjoyed renewed success, becoming Swift’s 10 th song to top the Billboard Hot 100.

On July 23, 2020, Swift announced on Instagram that she planned to release her eighth studio album, folklore . The 16-track album—made with Aaron Dessner of The National, Jack Antonoff of Bleachers, and Justin Vernon, better known as Bon Iver—debuted the next day at midnight. The alternative influence of her collaborators was apparent throughout.

Folklore produced the top 10 hits “The 1” and “Exile” featuring Bon Iver, plus went on to win Album of the Year at the 2021 Grammys. Swift also made history that year, becoming the only female solo artist to win that award three times.

Less than six months later, Swift dropped another surprise album to accompany folklore . She announced on December 10, 2020, that evermore would release at midnight the next day. “To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs,” Swift wrote in a social media post . “In the past I’ve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one after an album was released. There was something different with folklore. In making it, I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning.” Evermore earned a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year, though unlike its sister album, it didn’t win.

Swift released her 10 th studio album, Midnights , at midnight on October 21, 2022. Three hours later, she released seven extra tracks in a deluxe version titled Midnights (3 am Edition) . The album broke new ground for the already prolific Swift, making her the first artist to have a song on all of the top 10 slots on the Billboard Hot 100. That included “Anti-Hero” at No. 1, “Snow On The Beach” featuring Lana Del Rey , “Lavender Haze,” and “Karma.” Actor Zoë Kravitz earned writing credits on the latter two songs, and Jack Antonoff played a heavy hand in the album’s creation, cowriting 11 of Midnights ’ 13 songs.

Taylor’s Version albums

After the master recordings to her first six studio albums were sold in 2019, Swift decided to rerecord her old music to regain artistic and financial control of her catalog. So far, she has released four of six: Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in April 2021, Red (Taylor’s Version) in November 2021,  Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) in July 2023, and  1989 (Taylor’s Version) in October 2023 . Each included previously unreleased songs labeled as “From The Vault,” some of which she recorded with fellow musicians Keith Urban , Ed Sheeran , Chris Stapleton , and Phoebe Bridgers, among others.

Swift hasn’t shared when she will rerelease Taylor Swift and reputation .

When she was 26, Swift was the highest-paid musician—and celebrity of any industry—of 2016 per Forbes , earning $170 million. It was one successful year among many, allowing the pop star to amass a huge net worth.

As of February 5, 2024, Swift has a net worth of $1.1 billion, according to Forbes . Bloomberg first reported that Swift had become a billionaire in late October 2023.

Her wealth has skyrocketed in the past year fueled by the pop star’s highly successful Eras Tour. Pollstar reported in December 2023 that the ongoing tour has earned $1,039,263,762 so far, making Swift the first musician to gross more than $1 billion on a single tour. The trade publication previously estimated the tour brings in $14 million in ticket sales each night.

Swift ranks No. 17 on Pollstar ’s list of highest-grossing touring artists since 1980, having sold nearly $925 million in tickets from her first five tours and other appearances as of July 2022. The only women higher on the list are Madonna , Celine Dion , and Beyoncé .

Contributing to her overall net worth are her real estate holdings. According to Business Insider , her properties total $84 million. She also has lucrative endorsement deals with Capitol One, Stella McCartney, Diet Coke, Apple, and more.

Over the years, the musician has shared some of her fortune to help others. For example, in 2013, she funded the $4 million Taylor Swift Education Center at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. The facility opened with three classrooms, a learning lab, and a space dedicated to exhibits for children. In an interview with CMT Hot 20 Countdown , she explained that “music education is really such an important part of my life. My life changed so completely when I discovered writing my own songs and playing guitar, and that can’t necessarily all be taught to you in school because there aren’t enough hours in the day.”

The megastar has been involved in a few legal disputes, which all have gone in her favor. In August 2017, she testified in a trial against David Mueller, a former radio DJ she accused of groping her four years earlier. Mueller denied Swift’s allegations and said the incident cost him his job, which led him to sue Swift, her mother, and a radio station employee in 2015. Swift countersued him for alleged assault and battery, and a jury ruled in her favor in 2017, awarding her $1 in damages as a symbolic gesture.

Swift responded to the verdict in a statement: “I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society, and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this. My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves.”

Also in 2017, Swift was on the receiving end of a lawsuit, when two songwriters claimed that she stole the chorus of their song “Playas Gon’ Play” for her hit “Shake It Off.” Although a judge dismissed the case in early 2018, on the grounds that the “allegedly infringed lyrics are short phrases that lack the modicum of originality and creativity required for copyright protection,” an appeals court revived the suit in October 2019. Shortly before the trial was scheduled to begin, a judge dismissed the case in December 2022 at the request of both parties. A few media outlets reported there was a settlement, but if so, the terms weren’t publicly released.

The musician was ensnared in another copyright lawsuit when a Mississippi woman claimed “a number of creative elements” from her self-published poetry book appeared in Swift’s companion book for her Lover (2019) album. The author sued in August 2022 but voluntarily dropped her case the next July.

In November 2018, Swift signed with Universal Music Group’s Republic Records. The deal granted the musician ownership of her master recordings, something she didn’t have in her agreement with her first label, Big Machine Records.

The next June, Swift revealed her dismay that Big Machine sold her catalog of music from her first six albums, up to reputation , to a company owned by Scooter Braun , manager of artists like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande and a person she accused of bullying tactics. “Scooter has stripped me of my life’s work, that I wasn’t given an opportunity to buy,” she wrote on Tumblr . “Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it.” Just before the August 2019 release of Lover , Swift confirmed she would rerecord her old music to regain artistic and financial control of her catalog.

Swift’s catalog was sold once again, in October 2020, to Shamrock Holdings for around $300 million. In a lengthy post on Twitter (now called X), Swift gave her fans an update:

“As you know, for the past year I’ve been actively trying to regain ownership of my master recordings. With that goal in mind, my team attempted to enter into negotiations with Scooter Braun.
“Scooter’s team wanted me to sign an ironclad NDA stating I would never say another word about Scooter Braun unless it was positive, before we could even look at the financial records of BMLG... I would have to sign a document that would silence me forever before I could even have a chance to bid on my own work. My legal team said that this is absolutely NOT normal, and they’ve never seen an NDA like this presented unless it was to silence an assault accuser by paying them off. He would never even quote my team a price. These master recordings were not for sale to me.”

Swift added the deal still allows Braun to profit from her music and that she was in the process of rerecording her old music.

Her first rerecorded release, “Love Story (Taylor’s Version),” came at midnight on February 12, 2021. So far, she has reissued four of six albums from her early catalog.

Currently, Swift is dating NFL football player Travis Kelce . On a July 2023 episode of his New Heights podcast , Kelce explained how he tried to give Swift his number on a friendship bracelet after attending the Eras Tour in Kansas City. Soon after, Swift reached out, and they went public with their romance in the fall. “Obviously, I’ve never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them... I’ve never dealt with it,” Kelce told The Wall Street Journal . “But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it.”

Swift has attended 12 of his NFL games in the 2023 season and postseason. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,” she told Time .“ I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

Kelce returned the support in mid-November 2023, traveling to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to attend one of her concerts on the Eras Tour. During the show, Swift changed one of her lyrics in the song “Karma” to reference Kelce, and the couple were caught kissing on camera for the first time .

Over the years, Swift has dated several celebrities. During much of 2008, reports circulated that she was dating musician Joe Jonas of The Jonas Brothers. The song, “Forever & Always,” is reportedly about Jonas. The next year, Swift briefly dated actor Taylor Lautner , who she met while they filmed the 2010 movie Valentine’s Day . Swift then dated fellow singer-songwriter John Mayer for a brief period beginning in late 2009; he’s thought to be the inspiration for her song “Dear John.”

From there, Swift was romantically linked to actors Cory Monteith and Jake Gyllenhaal in 2010, then Conor Kennedy—son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. —in 2012. She celebrated the new year with One Direction’s Harry Styles in 2013, but the relationship ended later that year. In 2015, Swift dated DJ and music producer Calvin Harris, though the couple reportedly broke up in June 2016. Shortly thereafter, the pop star began dating actor Tom Hiddleston , but the couple split three months later.

Swift’s longest relationship to date was with actor Joe Alwyn. The pair met at the 2016 Met Gala and were together from 2017 until spring 2023. Beyond being another boyfriend to spark her songwriting, Alwyn also helped write songs on her folklore , evermore , and Midnights albums under the pseudonym William Bowery.

Just prior to the rumors about her and Kelce, Swift was said to be dating musician Matty Healy of The 1975 band.

Beyond her romantic relationships, Swift has had many high-profile friendships—with singer and actor Selena Gomez , model Karlie Kloss , and actor Blake Lively , to name a few—as well as headline-making feuds. Chief among those is her beef with rapper Kanye West .

kayne west speaks into a handheld microphone on a stage as taylor swift stands feet away holding a silver trophy, he wears a black shirt with jeans and sunglasses, she wears a bejeweled one strap dress

In 2009, when Swift won the MTV Video Music Award’s Best Female Video for “You Belong With Me,” West leaded to the stage as the young singer was giving her acceptance speech. He took the mic and famously declared, “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!”

The stunned Swift was unable to finish her acceptance speech, and West was removed from the show. When Beyoncé accepted her award for Best Video of the Year later in the night, she called Swift to the stage to finish her speech. West later apologized to Swift privately and made a public apology on The Jay Leno Show .

In early 2016, West released his song “Famous” that includes a lyric taking credit for her fame and calling her a derogatory word. The rapper said Swift had approved the line in a phone call, though her team initially denied the conversation. Days later, Swift said in a Grammys acceptance speech:

“I wanna say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work, and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who loved you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”

Kim Kardashian , who was married to West at the time, defended her husband in a GQ interview that summer and released clips of the phone call between the musicians. Although edited, the recordings proved Swift’s PR team had been lying in their initial statement. Kardashian also implied Swift was a snake in a July 2016 social media post . The pop star alluded to the fight in the songs “Look What You Made Me Do” and “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things” from her reputation (2017) album. She has also used snakes in music videos and onstage in concerts. The feud briefly reignited in March 2020 when a 25-minute video of the phone conversation leaked online.

Previously having released several concert movies, Swift made a bigger splash with her Netflix documentary Miss Americana . The January 2020 release covered the makings of her recent studio albums as well as other high-profile events like her sexual assault trial. Miss Americana earned a limited run in theaters simultaneously to its streaming release.

Swift’s new concert movie, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour , capitalizes on her massive star power. The film opened exclusively in theaters—3,850 locations in North America alone—in October 2023. According to Comscore, no other concert movie has enjoyed as wide of a release . It also has showtimes in some 90 other countries and has grossed more than $261 million worldwide as of February 5, 2024, making it the highest-grossing concert film of all time . An extended version, with three additional songs, is now available to rent on streaming services.

Swift has also dabbled in acting. She appeared in the 2010 blockbuster Valentine’s Day, alongside Julia Roberts , Jamie Foxx , Jessica Biel , Bradley Cooper , and other Hollywood heavyweights. A voice role in The Lorax (2012) and another role in The Giver (2014) followed. In December 2019, Swift was featured in a live-action adaptation of the famed Broadway musical Cats , along with Jennifer Hudson , James Corden , and Rebel Wilson . She also teamed with Cats creator Andrew Lloyd Webber to write a song, “Beautiful Ghosts,” for the movie. Swift also had a cameo in 2022’s Amsterdam .

A complete timeline of Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift's friendship

  • Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss became inseparable after meeting at the 2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
  • They road-tripped through Big Sur, landed a joint Vogue cover, and shared their friendship on social media.
  • Although Kloss has denied a falling-out, they haven't been seen together since 2018.

Insider Today

The friendship of Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss dates back to 2013, when the musician and the supermodel met backstage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

They quickly became inseparable: The pair road-tripped through Big Sur, posed together for a joint Vogue cover, and frequently shared photos of their adventures on social media. Kloss even had her own bedroom in Swift's New York apartment.

But they haven't been photographed together since 2018 — and many fans believe they had a falling-out.

Though the model has maintained that Swift is a "close friend," the singer-songwriter didn't attend either of Kloss' wedding events. Instead, Kloss' guest list included Katy Perry and Scooter Braun , both of whom Swift has feuded with.

Below is a comprehensive timeline of their friendship.

January 2012: Swift mentioned the model in her Vogue cover story

While walking around Prabal Gurung's studio during her 2012 Vogue interview , the "Red" singer noticed a framed photo of Kloss hanging on the wall.

"I love Karlie Kloss. I want to bake cookies with her!" she told the interviewer.

Kloss, an avid baker who teamed up with Momofuku Milk Bar's Christina Tosi to launch her own line of treats called " Karlie's Kookies " in 2012, accepted Swift's invitation the same day the article was published.

"Hey @taylorswift13 love the @voguemagazine cover!" she wrote on Twitter. "Your kitchen or mine?"

November 13, 2013: They had a playful interaction on the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show runway

Swift strutted up and down the runway as she performed her song "I Knew You Were Trouble" at the 2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Kloss, the second model to walk during the "Snow Angels" portion of the show, pointed at Swift and lip-synced her lyrics as she passed by, stopping again to dance with the musician before exiting the stage.

They also held hands while Swift was singing "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark" with Fall Out Boy.

"We met at the show, we never met before but we're BFFs now. It's nice to meet another American girl, we're the same age and she's so inspiring — she's so talented and she's true to who she is. She's a cool girl and I'm glad she's in the show this year, she rocked it," Kloss told Hollywood Life on December 9, 2013.

One month later, Kloss said her interaction with Swift was her "favorite" moment from the show.

Kloss also shared a behind-the-scenes photo with Swift with the lyrics from "Love Story" ("We were both young when I first saw you"), her favorite of Swift's songs.

The introduction left a mark on Swift as well.

In their joint March 2015 Vogue interview , the singer revealed that she has a polaroid with Kloss, taken backstage at the show, hanging in her New York City apartment. The photo is labeled, "BEST FRIENDS FOREVER VS2013."

March 2014: They took a road trip through Big Sur together

When the duo met up at the Oscars after-party in 2014, the supermodel suggested they do something "spontaneous," they said in their 2015 Vogue interview .

"I'd been to Big Sur once before, and I was like, 'We should just do it,'" Swift said.

Kloss shared several memories from their time on the road, which she described as the "adventure of a lifetime with my girl." They frolicked in front of a sunset, wrote their names in the sand with a heart, wore daisies in their hair , and cuddled among the elephant seals.

In one of the posts, fans noticed that Kloss was wearing Swift's sweater , which said "Genius" on it.

As they drove home, Kloss shared a photo of a yellow daisy in the car, tagging Swift as the center of the flower. She captioned the shot, "best. road trip. ever."

Two years later, Swift would allude to the road trip during her "72 Questions" interview with Vogue .

Although the shots were blurry, the tweet launched speculation that the women were kissing : "exclusive taylor and karlie making out #confirmed," the fan wrote .

However, a representative for Swift called the story "crap."

"It's sad that on the day it's announced Taylor has three Grammy nominations for 'Shake It Off,' I have to shake off this crap," the rep told Us Weekly .

Swift also seemed to respond to the rumors in a since-deleted tweet (although she may have been referring to media coverage of her relationship with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy ).

"We're real girls," Swift agreed.

January 1, 2018: Swift's fans speculated a rift in their friendship after Kloss captioned a photo with Katy Perry's song lyrics

Kloss played basketball in a black-and-white video she shot for LOVE's advent calendar.

She originally captioned the photo , "Swish Swish," which is the title of Perry's song, widely believed to be a response to Swift's "Bad Blood."

Fans began accusing Kloss of taking a side in the feud by writing Perry's lyrics on her Instagram and flooding the post with comments.

Others defended Kloss, saying that she was merely using a common basketball term.

She eventually changed the caption, which now reads, "Nothing but net."

February 8, 2018: Kloss went to dinner with Perry in Los Angeles

Slightly a month after the model was accused of dissing Swift on Instagram, she was spotted out to dinner with the "Swish Swish" singer in Los Angeles. Two mutual friends were present as well.

Several days later, Jennifer Lawrence joked that Kloss and Swift's distance "keeps her up at night" during a live interview with The New York Times .

When asked to choose one secret that she could know the answer to, Lawrence responded, "Honestly, I'd like to know what's going on between Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift, like that's the honest-to-god truth. Is nobody else curious? It's keeping me up at night. What happened?"

March 16, 2018: Kloss listed Swift as one of her closest friends during an interview

Despite rumors that her friendship with Swift had ended, Kloss said she was still close with the songstress during an interview with The New York Times .

The outlet reported that Kloss and Swift speak frequently, even though tabloids claimed otherwise.

"Don't believe everything you read," Kloss added.

August 26, 2018: They shared their final photo together at the Reputation Stadium Tour

Kloss attended the "Reputation" tour stop in Nashville, where she snapped a selfie with Swift backstage .

"No one puts on a show like @taylorswift," she wrote. "#ReputationTour Nashville was out of this world, I am SO proud of you."

October 11, 2018: Kloss said she and Swift were 'still really good friends'

During her "73 Questions" interview with Vogue , Kloss was asked if everything was "cool" between her and Swift.

"The world needs to know? Well, Jennifer Lawrence was interested," she responded, referring to the actress' comment in August.

She added, "Jen, don't worry. Taylor and I are still really good friends."

October 18, 2018: Kloss got married, and Swift didn't attend the wedding

The supermodel exchanged vows with Kushner in an intimate private ceremony in upstate New York. According to People , the wedding had around 80 guests.

Swift shared a post to her Instagram story shortly after the news of the wedding broke, confirming she was on tour in Australia at the time .

December 13, 2018: Kloss gave another birthday shout-out to Swift

On the afternoon of Swift's 29th birthday, the model shared a photo of the pair at the 2015 AMAs.

"Proud of you always," Kloss wrote, adding, "Happy Happy Birthday @taylorswift."

The post has since been deleted.

March 14, 2019: Kloss said she 'loved' Swift's essay about turning 30

In anticipation of her 30th birthday, Swift penned an essay for Elle titled " 30 Things I Learned Before Turning 30 ."

She cited the importance of acknowledging the difference between "friendships" and "situationships" in her 20s.

"Something about 'we're in our young twenties!' hurls people together into groups that can feel like your chosen family. And maybe they will be for the rest of your life. Or maybe they'll just be your comrades for an important phase, but not forever. It's sad but sometimes when you grow, you outgrow relationships. You may leave behind friendships along the way, but you'll always keep the memories," the musician wrote.

Swift also admitted that she began to feel like her "squad" had become the embodiment of her childhood insecurities — like sitting alone at school and lacking a solid friend group.

When Kloss appeared on "Watch What Happens Live" several days after the essay was published, host Andy Cohen asked what she thought about the essay.

"Taylor is incredible, and I feel really lucky to call her a friend, and she's one of the hardest working women, and I loved her essay," she said.

June 20, 2019: Kloss and Kushner had another wedding, but Swift didn't attend that one either

Months after their first wedding, Kloss and Kushner had a larger celebration with friends at Brush Creek Ranch in Wyoming.

While Swift didn't appear in any of the photos from the event, Perry and her beau Orlando Bloom did .

Braun, who was at odds with Swift even before he infamously purchased her former record company , was also photographed the event with his then-wife Yael Cohen. Braun has been Kloss' manager for years and often shares photos of the supermodel on his Instagram page.

A source close to both Kloss and Swift told Page Six that the "Delicate" singer was invited to both events.

A representative for Kloss told the publication that Swift couldn't attend due to prior commitments.

August 10, 2019: Kloss vacationed with Braun in the midst of his feud with Swift

The music executive purchased Big Machine Label Group — and Swift's masters — for a reported $300 million in June 2019. After news of the acquisition broke, Swift aired her grievances in a Tumblr post.

"I learned about Scooter Braun's purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world," Swift wrote. "All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I've received at his hands for years."

The singer explained that she "pleaded for a chance to own my work" for years before the sale but was instead offered to "sign back up to Big Machine Records and 'earn' one album back at a time, one for every new one I turned in."

Following Braun's purchase, celebrities and friends began to take sides , but Kloss stayed quiet. And just months after the acquisition, Kloss went on vacation with the music executive.

Braun posted a photo of himself on a boat with Kloss and her husband. He wrote in the caption, "Week of laughter."

July 23, 2020: Kloss shared a photo with an eerie resemblance to Swift's 'Folklore' photo shoot on the same day as the album announcement

Swift surprised fans by announcing the release of her eighth studio album, " Folklore ," on July 23, 2020. Along with a tweet about the album, Swift shared black-and-white images of herself in the woods on Instagram.

Shortly after the musician's announcement, Kloss posted two photos of herself in the forest that looked similar to Swift's pictures.

She captioned the pictures: "happy place."

Given their history, fans wondered if the supermodel's photo was a nod to Swift's album, though she never directly mentioned "Folklore" or Swift in her post.

Later in the day, she also posted a video about her coding camp's partnership with Estée Lauder Companies. The opening segment shows lines of code, two of which have the words "Easter Egg" in them.

Because the video came on the same day as the announcement from Swift, who's known for including Easter eggs about her personal life in her music, fans theorized that Kloss was subtly hinting about her relationship with Swift. Others wondered if Kloss secretly inspired any of the intricate songs on "Folklore."

January 7, 2021: Fans were convinced Swift took a dig at Kloss with her 'Evermore' song 'It's Time To Go'

Swift surprise-released her ninth album " Evermore " on December 11, 2020. Like its sister "Folklore," the tracklist is packed with sly winks and details that hint at Swift's emotional state .

One month later, Swift released two bonus tracks for the deluxe edition of "Evermore." One of the songs, titled "It's Time to Go," sparked speculation about her relationship with Kloss .

In the first verse, Swift sings, "When the words of a sister come back in whispers / That prove she was not in fact what she seemed / Not a twin from your dreams / She's a crook who was caught."

The words "sister" and "twin" led fans to wonder if Swift was referring to Kloss, a fellow tall blondie. (Throughout their friendship, the media also referred to them as "sisters separated at birth." )

Fans also theorized that "whispers" and "crook" meant that Swift felt betrayed when their friendship ended. The song is about knowing when to leave a situation that's no longer serving you ("Sometimes giving up is the strong thing"), so an former friendship fits the overall theme.

The other "Evermore" bonus track, " Right Where You Left Me ," is the inverse narrative. Swift sings about feeling abandoned and alone, unable to get over a past relationship.

The opening line, "Friends break up, friends get married," could refer to her apparent "break up" with Kloss, who got married to Kushner shortly after.

"I swear you could hear a hair pin drop / Right when I felt the moment stop / Glass shattered on the white cloth / Everybody moved on, I stayed there," Swift sings in the chorus.

The image of glass shattering against white cloth could reference a well-known tradition in Judaism , in which newlyweds stomp on a glass that's covered by a napkin. According to People , Kloss and Kushner had a Jewish wedding ceremony.

August 9, 2023: Kloss was spotted in the crowd at Swift's concert in Los Angeles

Nearly five years after they were last photographed together, Kloss shocked fans by attending the final show on the US leg of the Eras Tour .

According to photos and videos from the event, Kloss was seated in a regular section, as opposed to the VIP tent with other celebrities like Halsey and Sadie Sink.

She was also filmed singing along to hits like " Shake It Off " and " Bad Blood ." Serendipitously, this was the same night Swift chose to announce the recorded version of "1989"  — the very album that Kloss heard before anyone else back in 2014.

Why Taylor Swift's Eras Tour took me back to the darkest moment of my life

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Taylor Swift opened her Eras Tour show Friday with the line “It’s been a long time coming” from her song "Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince."

It seemed fitting. It has been five years since her last tour.

But that line had extra meaning for me.

I watched Taylor walk onstage in my hometown. In the city I am raising my family in. In the city I work in (I could literally see our office window from my seat at Paycor Stadium ). And as she sang her first note of the night, I got immediate goosebumps. My wife, Macey, looked at me and said "I'm trying not to cry."

I'm not an emotional guy. I cried when my dog died a few years ago, but that's about it. Even I started tearing up.

Taylor Swift's music has impacted people across the globe. My wife and I have listened to her for the majority of our lives. But despite us both being fans for as long as we can remember, Taylor has meant more to us over the last few years than she ever did before.

Sure, she was there when we were in high school and growing in our teenage relationship together, but she also got us through an excruciating obstacle: infertility.

Taylor Swift's 'Fearless' era took me back to middle school

I listened to Taylor well before I knew my wife. The artist's debut, self-titled album came out in 2006, and her second, "Fearless," released in 2008.

After opening the night with her "Lover" era, Taylor brought life to 12-year-old David, sitting in the back of my grandparents' car, listening to "You Belong With Me" on my MP3 player. I forced myself to remember all the words because I had nothing better to do. We were on a road trip and they didn't listen to the radio the entire eight hours we spent in the car.

It seemed everyone at that concert had a similar memory. We were all dancing and singing like we were 12-year-olds.

More: Our 5 favorite moments from Taylor Swift's Friday show in Cincinnati

But "Fearless" isn't just a reminder of those middle school days for me. I was a big Taylor fan growing up, but I wouldn't have considered myself a Swiftie until I started dating my wife in 2011. She had every one of Swift's album, and we'd listen to all of them while riding around Piqua, Ohio, in her Ford Focus (she's older and got her driver's license before I did).

Those songs took me back to those young love days.

Taylor Swift's 'Red' was a reminder of easy times

As soon as Swift ran out in her signature "22" look – a hat and a white shirt that says "Not a lot going on at the moment" (although this shirt removed the "not") – the crowd began dancing (yes, like we were 22). The record is filled with breakup tracks, but many of the songs are fun and dance-worthy, making it hard not to move when they come on.

And that "fun" vibe fit my 2012 era like a glove.

My wife looked at me when the "Red" portion started and said, "This was the first album to come out while we were dating." We instantly began recalling our rushed trip to Target to get it. We had to hear those bonus tracks.

Life was easy back then. I'd sing these songs while driving to school, or on the way to the movie theaters with Mace (she worked there, and we got to see unlimited movies for free).

But not every "Red" song is party-worthy. "All Too Well" is a beautiful but painful track, and has taken on another life since Taylor released the 10-minute version in 2021. Her performance of it Friday was maybe her most powerful of the night, and the addition of the snow-like confetti was an incredible touch.

The stark contrast between that song and one like "22" was a reminder that not everything was bright and cheery back in that era. I had to deal with my parents' divorce. My wife also had family issues. And going through those challenges only prepared us for what was ahead.

'Folklore' and 'Evermore' got us through our biggest obstacle

Taylor's other eras brought back memories as well. "Reputation" gave me reinforced confidence after having a falling out with my father. "1989" was the first Taylor Swift concert Mace and I ever went to, and we blasted those songs during my college years (I even remembering pleading to my friend how a line in "Blank Space" was "so fire" after having a few beers).

However, listening to our favorite singer perform songs from "Folklore" and "Evermore" reminded us of going through our most difficult stage in life.

Taylor released these albums when everyone was struggling with anxiety: in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The cabin she had onstage during the "Folklore" portion of the show seemed fitting, considering we all had cabin fever back then.

But Mace and I had much more going on.

After six months of trying to get pregnant that year, she finally had a positive test in October. Less than 24 hours after we celebrated with a big fried chicken dinner, she had a miscarriage.

This was just three months after "Folklore" came out. Hearing Taylor sing "My Tears Ricochet" transported me to moments when I had to comfort my wife as she cried. Or to times when I prayed, pleading to God to just let us be parents.

The next album, "Evermore," came out in December 2020. I remember us reading Taylor's surprise announcement on Instagram (not knowing the other person was reading the same thing), and saying "holy s---" in unison.

I blasted "'Tis the Damn Season" that Christmas. And the next Christmas, another holiday without a baby.

For two years, we tried (and failed) to have a successful pregnancy. We went through seven months of fertility treatments, just to get negative tests every single month.

We were hopeless. But Taylor's music gave us an escape. "Folklore" and "Evermore" were all we listened to. And hearing it live, seeing Taylor sing these songs that mean so much to us in-person; it was surreal.

My wife woke me up from a deep sleep when the world learned Taylor Swift was coming out with a new album, "Midnights," which would be released Oct. 21, 2022.

That date was just 10 days before our first child was born.

In February 2022, we finally took a break from fertility treatments. We were going to maybe try in vitro fertilization in a couple of months, but had to save money. It's incredibly expensive.

Somehow, while taking that break, we got pregnant. And Marty James Wysong was born Oct. 31, 2022.

This era was much, much different than the last. Hearing "Midnight Rain" and "Lavender Haze" on Friday reminded me of driving back and forth from our house to the hospital, running on little sleep to no sleep and blaring those songs to stay awake. Listening to "Karma" as Taylor closed out the show evoked images of our little boy's smile whenever we sing these songs to him.

This has been a good era. A great era.

I'm not sure what Taylor's next one will be. For me, I'm working on being a dad of two soon. Five months after giving birth to Marty, or MJ is what we call him, we shockingly got pregnant again. We weren't even trying this time.

It's funny how life works. The due date for baby Wysong No. 2? Dec. 13 – Taylor Swift's birthday.

Singapore Has Taylor Swift to Itself This Week, and the Neighbors Are Complaining

The country is defending paying the pop star to play nowhere else in Southeast Asia. Thailand’s prime minister said the price was up to $3 million per show.

Taylor Swift has descended on Southeast Asia, or one small part of it at least: All of her six sold-out shows are in Singapore, the region’s wealthiest nation.

Many of her fans in this part of the world, which is home to more than 600 million people, are disappointed. But the Singapore leg of Ms. Swift’s wildly popular Eras Tour , which began last weekend and ends on Saturday, is a soft power coup and a boost for the country’s post-pandemic economic recovery.

The shows — and the undisclosed price that Singapore paid to host them — have also generated diplomatic tension with two of its neighbors, Thailand and the Philippines.

Last month, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin of Thailand said publicly that Singapore had paid Ms. Swift up to $3 million per show on the condition that she play nowhere else in Southeast Asia. A lawmaker in the Philippines later said that was not “what good neighbors do.”

Singapore pushed back. First its culture minister said the actual value of the exclusivity deal — which he declined to name — was “ nowhere as high .” The country’s former ambassador at large later called the criticism “ sour grapes .” And on Tuesday, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong told reporters that he did not see the deal as diplomatically “unfriendly.”

But that was no solace to dejected fans.

“I sometimes think ‘When will I get to experience this?’” said Sherin Nya Tamara, 26, a Swift fan in Jakarta, Indonesia, who has liked the singer since 2011 but has never seen her perform live. “I was hoping there would be additional dates and that Jakarta would be included, but nope.”

At a time when Southeast Asian governments are dealing with tensions over the South China Sea and the fallout from a brutal war in Myanmar, among other serious issues, the controversy over Ms. Swift’s Singapore shows is “kind of refreshing,” said Susan Harris Rimmer, a law professor who has studied soft power in the region.

“It’s nice to see them arguing about something this fun, I guess, instead of really, deeply difficult things,” added Professor Harris Rimmer, who teaches at Griffith University in Australia. “But it does show there is tension and jealousy and rivalry.”

Ms. Swift’s concerts in Singapore, which follow her stops in Japan and Australia , would have been a big deal anyway. But they took on geopolitical overtones last month, when Mr. Srettha said at a business forum that Singapore had paid the artist as much as $3 million per show in order to guarantee that they would be her only tour stops in Southeast Asia.

Mr. Srettha said that he had learned the details of Singapore’s grant to the artist from the concert promoter, AEG Presents. Representatives for the promoter and for Ms. Swift did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Tuesday.

An exclusivity deal around a concert, a kind of noncompete agreement known as a “radius clause,” is standard practice in the music industry, said Susan Abramovitch, the head of the entertainment and sports law division at the international law firm Gowling WLG.

“That being said, this territorial exclusivity is more typically measured in hundreds of miles from a city rather than covering entire neighboring countries,” she said, adding that the scope of the Singapore deal was a kind of “Taylor-esque magnification” of the industry standard.

It hasn’t been received well outside Singapore.

Late last month, a lawmaker in the Philippines generated headlines by saying that he had asked the country’s Department of Foreign Affairs to discuss the exclusivity clause with the Singaporean government, saying that it had come at the expense of neighboring countries.

The lawmaker, Rep. Joey Salceda, said this week that he had raised the issue after realizing how difficult and expensive it would be for Filipinos, including members of his own staff, to attend the concerts.

“ASEAN’s core principles are solidarity and consensus,” he said in an interview, referring to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. “What happened? They even used their tourism board to block other nations.”

Asked on Tuesday how much the grant was worth, the Singaporean government did not directly address the question. But the Tourism Board and the Culture Ministry said in a joint statement that Ms. Swift’s concerts, for which more than 300,000 tickets had been sold, would likely “generate significant benefits” for the domestic economy.

Prime Minister Lee was also asked about the grant on Tuesday at an ASEAN conference in Australia. He said it had been funded by a post-Covid tourism recovery effort and that he did not see the exclusivity clause as being “unfriendly” to other countries.

“If we had not made such an arrangement, would she have come to someplace else in Southeast Asia or more places in Southeast Asia?” he said, speaking in Melbourne. “Maybe, maybe not.”

News of the regional backlash to the grant was reported earlier by The Wall Street Journal , The Diplomat and other news outlets.

Professor Harris Rimmer said that, financial incentives aside, Singapore is a logical place for Swift to play in Southeast Asia, in part because it is safe for young female fans and has excellent transport links to the rest of the region. She said Ms. Swift’s glamorous mystique also fits nicely with Singapore’s efforts to promote itself as the “glamour kitten of Asia.”

“I don’t think she needs Singapore’s money, at this point,” she added.

Some Swifties have made their peace with the singer’s limited itinerary in their region. Mostly.

Jose Bunachita, 30, a writer in the Philippine city of Cebu, said that he saw Ms. Swift in Japan last month, and that his 11-day trip there had cost around $1,500. “I had the time of my life singing my heart out,” he said.

Still, he said, “I also feel like it would have been more of a fun experience if a majority of the concertgoers had been fellow Filipino Swifties.”
