Taylor Swift Is Bringing Her Eras Tour To Your Couch (And Soon)

Profile picture of Elle

In a joyous twist for fans, the cinematic experience that is Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert film will be coming to a sofa near you.

The pop star took to the stage on November 27, revealing that Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will be available for streaming on her birthday, December 13.

Excitement escalated as Swift confirmed that it will be an extended version of the film, including set list fan favourites not included in the original version: ‘Wildest Dreams,’ ‘The Archer,’ and ‘Long Live.’

taylor swift tour movie australia

Swift shared the news on her Instagram, saying, “Hi! Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up, and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!”

“Very happy to be able to tell you that the extended version of the film including “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer” and “Long Live” will be available to rent on demand in the US, Canada & additional countries to be announced soon starting on … you guessed it, December 13.”

The news coincides with the conclusion of Swift’s 2023 tour, in Brazil. While fans hoped for an announcement regarding the release of Reputation (Taylor’s Version) , Swift has kept quiet on the matter, leaving fans in a constant state of anticipation.

Where Will Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Concert Film Be Streamed?

taylor swift tour movie australia

While the December 13 release date appears to be for the US and Canada, her website and post suggest that further international release dates will be announced on this day.

Another detail in Swift’s post was her reference to ‘rent on demand,’ suggesting that the film may be a once-off rental rather than included in streaming subscriptions.

Where To Stream Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Film In Australia?

taylor swift tour movie australia

We’re not certain yet if Swift’s Eras Tour film will be available in Australia on December 13. However, there is a possibility of an announcement around this time.

Fans guess that because the rest of the world is yet to see the tour ( she’s coming to Australia in February 2024), she may delay the streaming release in these locations.

Why Isn’t ‘Cardigan’ In The Eras Tour Film (Streaming Version)?

Despite the excitement about the Eras Tour concert film, fans are concerned that one of the four songs omitted from the theatre film remains unreleased.

‘Cardigan’ is featured in the show’s set list, yet has not appeared on any of the film releases of the concert.

She could be saving it for the international release, but regardless, it’s safe to assume that Swift is a mastermind and will have a plan for it.

Despite the lingering questions, the success of Swift’s tour and film, coupled with her venture into streaming, is undeniable. Now a billionaire, her film raked in an impressive $178 million in the United States alone. This new release is only expected to bolster Swift’s financial standing further.

And in even better news, you’ll be able to relive the Eras hype again and again, with Swift’s announcement that the concert film has found its forever home on the Disney+ streaming platform.

Below, we wrap up everything you need to know about the Eras Tour Concert Film — including where you can watch it now that it’s had its global release, and when you can expect to find it on a streaming platform.

Will Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour film be available to stream?

While Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour film originally was released to rent at home on Prime Video in December 2023, Swift announced in February 2024 that it will be available to stream on Disney+ from March 15.

“I’m thrilled to let you know I’ve found a streaming home for The Eras Tour Concert Film, and that home will be @disneyplus,” Swift wrote on Instagram, where she also shared that the extended “Taylor’s Version” of the film will include additional songs previously unseen in the concert film.

“For the first time we’ll be showing the entire concert (including “cardigan”, plus 4 additional songs from the acoustic section!!) and I’m calling it, huge shock, “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)”.

The film will be available to stream on Disney+ for free with a subscription to the streaming service, from March 15.

When was Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film released?

On August 31, Swift took to social media to reflect on her feelings for the massive tour, which began its North American leg in March, 2023, and — following the rolling announcement of international dates — is currently set to conclude in November of 2024 in Toronto.

“The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far,” Swift began her post, before making yet another huge announcement: “I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon.”

“Starting Oct 13th you’ll be able to experience the concert film in theaters in North America! Tickets are on sale now. Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged.”

The release date caused chaos when it was first announced, with showings selling out across North America and even pushing back other film’s release dates. The Exorcist: The Believer was also scheduled to be released on October 13, but in lieu of Swift’s announcement — and having seen the chaos that’s revolved around the purchasing of tickets — the film’s distributor decided to move its release date forward. “Look what you made me do,” he Tweeted, hashtagging “#TaylorWins”.

Even before her announcement, eagle-eyed Australian Swift fans suspected the film would be making its way Down Under. One fan spotted Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour listed in the ‘Coming Soon’ section of the Hoyts app, with a release date of October 13 — the same premiere date as the United States.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Film is Coming to Streaming

  • 08 Feb 2024

As we begin the near yeat, it's clear last year's eventful year will be defined by one thing and one thing only: Taylor Swift's Eras Tour.

Despite the enormous tour not yet reaching Aussie shores, that hasn't stopped the one-in-a-lifetime-show dominating news headlines, social media and Swiftie's minds 24/7.

From the stress of (hopefully) buying tickets and dealing with the god-awful Tiketek waiting lounge, building up our surplus of friendship bracelets and religiously watching fan footage from the concerts, it's clear the tour and Taylor herself have dominated the year.

And whilst Aussie fans may have thought their Eras Tour experience would only kick off in the arena - we have some great news! You can now watch The Eras Tour concert film from the comfort of your own home.

The Eras Tour concert film is a saving grace for many Swifties around the globe, as millions of fans missed out on tickets.

In Australia alone, only a small percentage of registered fans managed to get their hands on concert tickets. In the United States, record-breaking crowds gathered outside of stadiums to listen in on the concerts and celebrate in nearby parks, parking lots and venues.

With such an unprecedented level of fan interest in the Eras Tour, its only natural Taylor would consider creating another concert film.

She’s previously filmed several tours, including Speak Now, 1989 and Reputation – with only the latter available to watch on Netflix. During covid the songstress also recorded an " intimate filmed concert” called  Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions, which you can stream  on Disney Plus.

So it just makes sense that this, her biggest tour yet, would also be captured to create an epic concert film.

Will The Eras Tour Concert Film be released in Australia?

Taylor Swift herself has announced the global release of the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Concert Film.

The initial announcement revealed showings of the film across the United States, Canada and Mexico. “The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far,” Taylor began her post, “I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon.”

“Starting Oct 13th you’ll be able to experience the concert film in theaters in North America! Tickets are on sale now. Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged.”

Shortly after the initial announcement, it was revealed that more than 100 countries are also set to host screenings.  “The tour isn’t the only thing we’re taking worldwide…” Taylor shared to a film poster uploaded to  Instagram . “Been so excited to tell you all that  The Eras Tour  concert film is now officially coming to theatres WORLDWIDE on Oct 13!”

The news wasn't a complete surprise though, with many fans already convinced Taylor was set to announce an Eras Tour documentary soon, especially given the presence of film cameras on stage at the Los Angeles show on August 3rd.

This was the first show to feature a film crew on stage with Taylor, which is different to the usual crew capturing footage for the big screen at the concert venues. There were also cameras filming fans in the crowd, along with notices around the stadium alerting the audience that “filming was underway.”

When will The Eras Tour Concert Film be released?

The movie premiered on Friday, October 13, in Australian cinemas and will be available to stream on Disney from March 15, 2024.

Will the Eras Tour Movie be on Netflix?

As we mentioned, Taylor has previously released a concert film Taylor Swift: Reputation Stadium Tour and a documentary Miss Americana through Netflix. However, in 2020 she released   Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions  on Disney Plus, so she’s not tied to Netflix in any set way.

At one of Taylor's LA show, there were notices about filming.

What will the Eras Tour movie be about?

Before the film dropped, there were two pretty clear ways the film could go; either a straight-up concert tour film, that just consists of the live show. And, considering the show spans over three hours, with a  s et list  of 44 songs divided into 10 distinct  acts , there's a lot of ground to cover here already.

Alternatively, fans believed it could be a documentary that includes the lead-up to the main event and showcases Taylor's personal relationship to the tour and her fame, as  Miss Americana did.

Or maybe... it's both? We wouldn't put it past Taylor to give her fans EVERYTHING she possibly can. Since the film has dropped, we now know the film is a concert film experience, with Event cinemas describing the project as a "cultural phenomenon...[continuing] on the big screen!  Immerse yourself in this once-in-a-lifetime concert film experience with a breathtaking, cinematic view of the history-making tour."

We also know the initial running time of the film will be 2 hours and 45 minutes. The actual live tour runs for over three hours, so it appears that the film tightens up the show by a bit.

Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Concert Film is Opening in Australian Cinemas Today

By Joseph Earp

Well, the day is finally upon us – Taylor Swift’s three-hour concert film, The Eras Tour , is opening across Australian cinemas. The Eras Tour is set to be one of the biggest cinematic events of the year . Directed by Sam Wrench – who previously handled concert films for Billie Eilish and Lizzo – it’s a 180-minute snapshot of Swift’s global Eras tour.

Cinemas around the world are bracing for a deluge of Swifties descending upon their theatres. As previously reported , the film is looking to make ten million dollars at the Australian box office alone, a colossal figure for a concert film.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour

Rolling Stone has suggested that screenings could  have a “ concert -like” atmosphere , with many cinemas offering merchandising for sale at the candy bar. Australia’s Dendy chain is offering those who attend the screenings the opportunity to buy limited edition Swift-branded cups .

The film is said to omit a handful of songs that appeared in the ‘Eras Tour’ setlist – those waiting to see ‘Cardigan’, for instance, will be disappointed. Otherwise, the film is described as a faithful document of the tour.

Those attending on opening night are already publicly making plans to bring along friendship bracelets – a key outfit item of Swiftie standom – and to bathe themselves in all things Taylor Swift. There are multiple screening times for the film each day:  head to the Palace Cinema website for their full rundown of their scheduled showings.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour will arrive in Australia in February 2024. The US pop star will play three shows at Melbourne’s MCG and four at Accor Stadium in Sydney. Details below.

Taylor Swift Announces When Her Concert Film ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ Will Air In Australia

taylor swift tour movie australia

Taylor Swift has gone and done it. The superstar singer-songwriter, who is performing all 10 of her studio albums’ so-called ‘Eras’ in one concert, has created a movie out of the experience, which will be available to view in Australia from October 13.

“The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon,” she shared on Instagram.

“Starting Oct 13th you’ll be able to experience the concert film in theaters in North America! Tickets are on sale now. Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged. 1, 2, 3 LGB!!!! (iykyk).”

Of course, this news has made many Swifties who missed out on tickets to the sold-out shows ecstatic ; they may get to experience a front-row seat to the Eras Tour after all, albeit, not live.

taylor-swift-sophie-turner-joe-jonas-split

While announcing the concert film, Swift took the opportunity to laugh at a few ‘in jokes’ with her fans, including the ‘friendship bracelets’ fans are making while attending the show, based off one lyric in her Midnights song ‘You’re On Your Own Kid’ and the ‘123LGB’, referring to the “One, two, three…let’s go b*tch,” phrase that fans yell at the start of ‘ Delicate’ from her Reputation album.

Naturally, demand to see the Eras Tour is extremely high, so it’s expected that demand to go and see the Eras Tour movie will also be through the roof, with fans that have already seen the show first hand expected to still buy tickets (so they can relive this almost ‘godly’ experience).

With rumours that many Swifties were leaving the Eras stadium with post-concert ‘amnesia’, this tour film is surely the antidote to stoke up those excitement-blanketed memories.

SAG-AFTRA Approved Taylor Swift’s Concert Film Because She Actually Paid People Properly

We all know the fights Taylor Swift has had with the music industry to ensure that creatives get proper pay and credit for the work they put out. So, when approaching the  Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Swift she decided to make sure she did it the right way.

Swift reportedly met all of SAG-AFTRA’s demands, purposely working around the major producers that are represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTMP) and instead funding the whole project herself. According to  Puck News,  Swift spent between $10 million and $20 million to produce the film, through her own company Taylor Swift Productions, and went straight to AMC Theatres to streamline the distribution process.

Swift also met with SAG-AFTRA to firm up an ‘interim agreement’, which would allow her to shoot and produce the Eras Tour film during her Los Angeles shows at SoFi Stadium. She was given permission, by meeting demands like offering proper salaries for crew members and also generous residuals (the money that people make off the back of streaming).

“She came to us and said she wanted to do this, but only if she could do it the right way under a union contract,” SAG-AFTRA’s executive director and chief negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland at Toronto Independent Film Festival. “And we said, that’s great. And so she fulfilled all the same criteria as anybody else and has an interim agreement for that production.”

While the fanfare around the anticipated concert film is at fever pitch, it will only make fans love her even more to know that she did so in a way that respected the team that made it happen.

How Much Demand Is There Globally For  Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour?

The demand for this film is so high that American movie chain AMC has said they’ll show the film at least four times a day on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We have to ask the question – will this meet (or even, exceed) the demand for the ‘Barbie’ movie?

AMC did state that it has upgraded its movie-ticketing service to handle “more than five times the largest influx of ticket-buying traffic the company has ever experienced before.”

They add, “But AMC is also aware that no ticketing system in history seems to have been able to accommodate the soaring demand from Taylor Swift fans.”

If you want to break records (and systems), just call the Swifties.

The news of the Eras Tour film is also music to the ears of Swifties who may not have been able to afford to attend the concert itself, with movie tickets a far cry from the prices of floor seats, going for thousands of dollars for just one seat.

The film is also expected to be another financial ‘feather in the cap’ for Swift, whose 146-date stadium tour is expected to be the first billion-dollar tour. The current record belongs to Elton John’s ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour, which has been going since 2018 and has made just over $900 million.

The power of Taylor Swift’s fans cannot be understated, with the release of the sequel to The Exorcist delayed just hours after Swift let fans in on her next big project.

“Look what you made me do. The Exorcist: Believer moves to 10/6/23 #TaylorWins,” producer Jason Blum shared to X, formerly known as Twitter.

Swift has many highlights still ahead of her, including a stint performing the tour in Australia in February. In the meantime, fans are enjoying watching the Eras Tour from TikTok and embracing their ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) ’ era. She is set to drop ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version) on October 27, 2023.

Everything you need to know about the Taylor Swift Eras Tour movie

M ore than four million people tried to snag tickets to the Australian leg of Taylor Swift ’s Eras Tour . And while a few additional shows and limited-view seats were added to try and meet demand, many still didn’t manage to secure tickets.

Of course, seeing the show live isn’t the only way to see the show though. The singer-songwriter released Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour so Swifties who were unable to go to one of her concerts could still experience it (and so Swifties lucky enough to see the show live could relive it).

First released theatrically in October 2023, the film captured most of Taylor ’s 3-hour long show; a few songs including Long Live , The Archer , Wildest Dreams and Cardigan – which are on the Eras Tour setlist – were cut from the film so it had a shorter run time of 2.75 hours.

However, the version that became available to rent in December 2023 included Long Live , The Archer and Wildest Dreams .

And the version that will soon become available on streaming platforms, dubbed Taylor Swift | Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) , will include Cardigan as well as “4 additional songs from the acoustic section”!

Read on to find out everything you need to know about Taylor Swift | Eras Tour…

Although, the 2020 documentary Miss Americana is still available on Netflix Australia.

(February 7, 2024) – Today, Disney+ announced that “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version),” which is the concert film in its entirety for the first time and includes the song “cardigan” and four additional acoustic songs, will make its streaming debut on March 15, 2024, exclusively on Disney+. taylor swift tour movie australia

If you’re a disappointed Aussie Swiftie, it’s worth remembering that Taylor Swift has many other concert movies and specials you can watch while you wait, and we’ve broken down where you can see them below.

Where to watch all of Taylor Swift’s concert movies

taylor swift concert movie

Taylor Swift: Journey to Fearless

Taylor Swift’s first headline tour in 2009 was for her second album, Fearless. This also marked the release of her first concert movie – a series of 3 episodes titled Journey to Fearless that tracked Swift’s rise to fame. After airing on TV, the documentary came to DVD and Blu-Ray in 2011. This remains the only way to watch Journey to Fearless, but if you’re lucky, there are still some DVDs floating around out there that you can snap up on marketplaces.

Taylor Swift: Speak Now World Tour Live

Following the Fearless tour came Speak Now. Speak Now World Tour – Live was Swift’s first live album and was released in 2011. As was so common in those days, the release of the CD came with an additional DVD that featured live recordings of Swift performing songs on the tour, as well as behind-the-scenes rehearsal footage.

You can actually still buy the CD/DVD combo of Speak Now World Tour – Live at Sanity in Australia if you’re keen to revisit that era.

Taylor Swift: Reputation Stadium Tour

taylor swift concert movie

Skip forward a few years, and Taylor Swift’s next concert movie comes in the form of the Reputation Stadium Tour, which was also her last tour prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Filming of the performance took place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and the Reputation Stadium Tour concert movie was subsequently released on Netflix.

Miss Americana

While not strictly a concert movie per se, Miss Americana is a documentary that follows Taylor Swift over the course of several years of her career, including the Reputation Tour, up until the release of Lover . The documentary was released to critical acclaim in 2020.

Miss Americana is available to stream on Netflix.

Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions

Taylor Swift directed and starred in this documentary of the recording of her eighth studio album, Folklore . The film takes an in-depth look at the creative process behind the songs, including the collaboration between Swift, Aaron Dressner and Jack Antonoff. It was filmed at Long Pond Studio in Hudson Valley, New York.

Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions can be streamed on Disney+

These are, in fact, not the only concert movies Taylor Swift has released, but they are the only ones available to watch right now.

The 1989 World Tour Live movie was famously recorded at ANZ Stadium in Sydney! But unfortunately, after being released initially on Apple Music, it has since been pulled down. If you go looking on YouTube, however, you can still find it in full.

Swift also performed at an intimate concert in Paris, France, in September 2019 for the City of Lover Concert , which was filmed and released as a TV special in the US. That one hasn’t been released on streaming since, unfortunately.

Can you watch the Eras Tour Concert movie in Australia?

taylor swift australia

Right now, the Eras Tour concert film only has a release date in the U.S. (which is October 13).

I’m willing to bet that, similar to the Eras tour itself, the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Concert Film will be released in more markets in the future, particularly as the tour begins to hit the international road. Perhaps we’ll see it released in Australia after February next year, once Swift has completed her concerts here .

Watch the new trailer for Taylor Swift’s extended version of ‘Eras Tour’ for Disney+

The trailer for 'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (My Version)' that's coming to streaming this month has an unexpected bonus song.

  • Bridget Sharkey
  • March 4, 2024

If you are a Disney+ subscriber and a Swiftie, March will leave you feeling bejeweled. That is because on March 14, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (My Version)” will be available to stream (or more aptly put, binge incessantly) on the streaming service.

And, we have just learned from Swift herself that this version of “Eras” will include “Maroon.” While we knew that “Cardigan” would be included in the final cut, along with four other acoustic songs, we didn’t know what those surprise songs would be.

Swift released the news on her socials today along with a trailer for the Disney+ release. At the end of the trailer, we hear Swift say, “This is one of my favorites” and then the opening bars to “Maroon” begin.

Watch the “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (My Version)” on X below:

I’m delighted to tell you that you’ll be able to watch Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (My Version) a few hours earlier than expected! Experience the ENTIRE concert film for the first time ever, beginning to end, including “cardigan” and FOUR new acoustic songs on @DisneyPlus … pic.twitter.com/lxiALKzmN1 — Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) March 4, 2024

Five songs had to be cut from the original “Eras” as the movie was already clocking in at a little over 2 hours and 45 minutes. But Swifties agonized over the fact that they missed the entirety of the concert performances. But, now, they will soon have the entire show at their fingertips on Disney+.

And, since the “Eras” movie was filmed during Swift’s Los Angeles shows at SoFi Stadium, we can surmise the other surprise songs. Fans who attended the L.A. shows say that Swift performed three other surprise acoustic songs. (Swift is known for playing surprise tracks during her “Eras” shows, giving each audience a little something special. It’s so popular that Swifties have even given this part of her concert a name: “ Surprise Song O’ Clock “).

MORE: Get tickets to see Taylor Swift in concert in 2024

During her L.A. “Eras” concerts, Swift played “Maroon” (from “Midnights”) and “cardigan” (from “folklore”). And the other three surprise song o’ clock songs? Swift gave acoustic versions of “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” “You Are in Love” and Speak Now’s “I Can See You” — so these are the remaining  songs that Swifties are expecting to see on “Eras (My Version).”

Then again, Swift loves to shock her fans (such as at The Grammys, when she tricked us all into thinking she would announce “Reputation (Taylor’s Version),” only for her to announce a brand-new album). So who knows what surprises might be in store for us on March 14?

Taylor Swift announces Australian tour dates with top tickets going for more than $1,200

Blond woman in sparkly top points at camera against purple backdrop

Swifties waiting with bated breath have had their prayers answered, with Taylor Swift finally revealing the Australian dates on her Eras world concert tour.

The pop star will be journeying down under for five dates in February 2024.

However, Swift fans on a budget might be in store for a Cruel Summer as the top VIP packages are being sold for $1,249.99 .

For reference, the most recent ATO data from 2020-2021 puts the median Australian taxable income at  $980 per week .

The top VIP package, officially known as the It's Been A Long Time Coming package secures fans "One Unforgettable A Reserve Floor Ticket", four prints of the artist, a tote bag, a pin, a tour lanyard and a sticker and postcard set.

The other five VIP packages contain identical extras but gradually worsening seats from B Reserve to E Reserve and cost from $349.99 and $899.90 .

An A Reserve ticket by itself is $379.90 – a difference of $870 from the VIP package with the same ticket tier.

More wallet-conscious Swift fans can pay between $309.90 for B Reserve tickets down to $79.90 for a spot in the G reserve seats in the nosebleeds.

Last time Swift took a tour of Australia in 2018, the top VIP packages set fans back about $820 and included a personal message from Swift, a hardcover book and a CD.

Taylor Swift told her 112 million Instagram followers that she was voting for the Democrats.

Which Australian cities are on Taylor Swift's Eras tour?

In terms of how many cities she's visiting, the tour is pretty small.

Swift won't even complete a full east coast tour for her Australian Eras leg, stopping only at Sydney for three nights and Melbourne for two nights .

This is the first time Swift has skipped Brisbane in five tour cycles.

She played in Brisbane and Perth when she came to Australia last time, which was her Reputation tour back in 2018.

How many tickets will go on sale?

We don't have exact figures.

The capacity for the MCG, where Swift is performing two Melbourne shows, is more than 100,000 people .

Sydney's Accor stadium, where she will be playing three shows, has a capacity of 83,500 .

Which means there could be some 450,000 tickets up for sale.

Having a truncated Australian tour means Swift won't come near the record of most tickets sold for an Australian tour after Ed Sheeran shifted over 1 million tickets to his 2018 divide tour.

Sheeran performed 18 stadium shows across the country to achieve the feat.

How do you get tickets to Taylor Swift's Australian Eras tour?

Judging by the reaction to tickets for the US, it might be a tricky feat getting your hands on one.

In November last year, Ticketmaster cancelled the public sale of Swift's US tour "due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand".

Ticketmaster pinned it on its "verified fans" system , aimed at eliminating bots and scalpers, which couldn't keep up with the demand as a reported 3.5 million people tried to get tickets.

Swift's Australian Eras tour doesn't rely on the verified fans system but if you're forking out hundreds for the VIP packages you will be able to access tickets sooner.

The first tickets go on pre-sale on June 26 , but there are a few catches.

To access these tickets you have to hold an American Express card and fork out for one of the top two VIP packages — so, the most expensive tickets.

The Frontier Member pre-sale , which has a much lower bar of entry, begins on June 28 and finally, the general public will be able to buy tickets from 2pm local time on June 30 .

However, If you manage to get your hands on tickets next week, you're not going to receive anything until a week before your show.

This is called ticket suppression and it aims to dissuade scalpers from buying up tickets and reselling them.

There's also a purchase limit of four tickets per transaction.

Taylor Swift Surprises Australian ‘Eras Tour’ Crowd With 1st Performance of ‘You’re Losing Me’

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Australian Swifties were blessed with the first-ever live performance of Taylor Swift ’s “You’re Losing Me” on Friday, February 16.

“I’ve never played this song live before, it’s one of my favorites,” Swift, 34, told the crowd in Melbourne, according to fan videos shared via social media. The singer sat at her piano in a yellow dress for the acoustic set — otherwise known as the surprise songs. (She also performed “Red (Taylor’s Version)” on the guitar.)

“You’re Losing Me,” a Midnights vault track, was initially available on the Late Night Edition of her 2022 record, which was sold as a CD at her Eras Tour stops in New Jersey last year . Swift finally brought the song to streaming after she was named Spotify’s 2023 Top Global Artist.

“I just wanted to say to anyone who listened to my music this year, anywhere in the world, thank you,” Swift wrote via Instagram in November 2023. “Getting named Spotify’s Global Top Artist in 2023 is truly the best birthday/holiday gift you could’ve given me.”

She continued: “I was trying to think of a way to thank you, and a lot of you have been asking me to put ‘You’re Losing Me (From The Vault)’ on streaming… so here you go! You can finally listen EVERYWHERE now 💋.”

Fans were quick to speculate that the “You’re Losing Me” lyrics detail the end of Swift’s six-year relationship with Joe Alwyn . ( Us Weekly confirmed in April 2023 that the two had split .)

Celebrities Who Had the Time of Their Lives at Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’: Selena Gomez, Emma Stone, HAIM and More

“I glared at you with storms in my eyes / How can you say that you love someone you can’t tell is dying?” Swift sings in the second verse. “I sent you signals and bit my nails down to the quick / My face was gray, but you wouldn’t admit that we were sick.”

Swift’s friend and longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff subsequently stirred the pot by revealing when the pair wrote and produced the song , fueling new fan theories.

“‘You’re Losing Me’ is out today, a very special track from the Midnights sessions that’s finally streaming!” Antonoff, 39, shared via his Instagram Story in November 2023, sharing a photo of Swift. “Written and recorded at home on 12/5/21 after Taylor ate these raisins.”

Neither Swift nor Alwyn have spoken publicly about the reason for their breakup. Swift briefly moved on with The 1975 singer Matty Healy before going public with boyfriend Travis Kelce in September 2023. Days before kicking off her Australian tour dates, Swift supported Kelce, 34, as he and the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.

On Monday, the pop superstar, 34, paid tribute to her Australian fans as she took to the stage for her fourth and final Eras Tour show in the city.

“You’re out here making me feel like I’m the first artist to play four shows at Accor Stadium!” Swift said after taking the stage, according to local media outlet news.com.au .

“I guess what I’m trying to say is that you make me feel like the man," added the "Karma" singer, before launching into a performance of "The Man" and then addressing the crowd again.

"Well I am absolutely delighted to say these words to you. Sydney: welcome to the Eras Tour! This is our final night of four. And we have had the most wonderful time, I’ve got to tell you that,” Swift said, per the outlet. “You are here in one of the most exciting cities in the world, and you chose to hang out with us. Thanks guys!"

In a video posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Saturday, Swift also shared that she feels "at home" in Sydney. "Me, my band, the dancers, you make us feel like we're at home here, you really do. It's very rare," Swift said, before going on to reveal her favorite word spoken in the Australian accent and having a go herself.

"The more time we spend around you, the more favorite things that we find about you, but obviously you know we love your accents. But I have a very specific word that is my favorite word that you say in an Australian accent and that word is the word 'No,' " said Swift.

"It is the most glorious sound. The more you chew on that no [said in an Australian accent], the more you just ... I really think you say it better than I say it, so this song incorporates the word no several times. The choice is yours. You can sing it American like me if you want, or you can just be yourselves and you can say, 'You should've said no [said in an Australian accent].' "

The musician then launched into a performance of her track "Should've Said No" to huge cheers from the crowd.

Meanwhile, Monday's show was also hit with some rain after Friday's show — Swift's first show in the city — was delayed by rain and a nearby lightning strike .

As the rain started to come down at the Accor Stadium on Monday, Swift held up her hands and asked the crowd in a video shared on X. "You down to dance all night in the rain with me? Because I'm in all in on that and you know we love a rain show here on the Eras Tour."

The “Cruel Summer” singer's Eras Tour will next be heading to Singapore, with the star set to play six nights at the National Stadium in Kallang starting on March 2.

Taylor Swift plays biggest Eras Tour show yet, much bigger than the Super Bowl

MELBOURNE, Australia — More than 96,000 fans packed the Melbourne Cricket Grounds stadium to dance and sing their hearts out to night one of Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour.

The weather could not have been any nicer for the city that reached the upper 90s on Tuesday. The cool down for the weekend left fans walking into the stadium to the beat of mid-70s.

Although the pop star has performed in the Australian city 10 times, this is her first time inside the Cricket Grounds. The open roof allowed the 10 eras of hits and thunderous crowd applause to spill from the vast arena into the downtown area. Restaurants and shops in the center of Melbourne have been playing hits by Swift from their storefronts all week. Finders Station, the train hub, also projected lights welcoming Miss Americana to Down Under.

You could not miss Zoe Lin's voice outside the arena. The Taiwanese Swiftie spent weeks making more than 300 custom friendship bracelets. "Does anyone want to trade friendship bracelets?" she shouted.

Lin held up a Ziploc bag with beads of every color and a laminated sign that quoted Swift's song "You're On Your Own, Kid": "So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it."

The other side said, "Hey Taylor, Can you tell me now, I'm the 'Lucky One,' Swiftie from Taiwan." Lin hoped the sign would be seen by Swift's team so she could become the "22" hat recipient. She didn’t make it, but the sign was as fun as her fan spirit.

"Swifties are all really nice," she said while handing out bracelets, "and they just feel like a family."

Swifties began showing up to the stadium around noon, six hours before the concert, to buy merchandise. But the wait was worth it, because the real fight was getting tickets to the sold-out show.

"It was impossible," said Liz Murdoch about getting tickets. "I could not get them. None of my friends, my whole family." Somehow during the Ticketek madness Murdoch's best friend Luke McCraken scored two golden seats in the VIP section. "I was at work when my friend texted me, 'Do you want to go with me?' I basically did a backflip I was so excited."

Ticketek, which is the only online site where fans can get original or resale tickets, had two additional drops the week of the concert. One on Tuesday for a restricted section partially behind the stage and another on Thursday. Fans lined the streets of Melbourne and also piled online to try and score seats to the hottest show in town.

Swift has two more nights in Melbourne before hopping over to Sydney for four nights the following week.

Taylor Swift is in the middle of her stretch of concerts in Australia, which are part of her global The Eras Tour. As she arrived in the country—and just before—fans of the singer celebrated her bringing the historic trek to the nation by buying and streaming seemingly every title in her catalog. All those plays and purchases have helped the superstar break her own record and make history down under.

This week, Swift claims seven top 10 albums in Australia. That’s a new record for the most simultaneous placements inside the highest tier on the albums ranking in the country, according to the ARIA .

Before this week, Swift already owned this record. She previously filled half a dozen spots inside the top 10 on the Australian albums chart at one time. Now, she’s bested her own top showing, as only she can.

Swift’s Midnights returns to the No. 1 spot on the ranking of the most-consumed albums in Australia. The set has now ruled the tally for 15 nonconsecutive frames since it was released in late 2022. The title lifts from fourth place to return to the summit, replacing Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s Vultures 1 in first position.

Once again, Swift fills the entire top five with her past releases. This is a feat that only she has managed before, and one that she keeps repeating. In addition to Midnights ruling again, the rest of the top five looks like this: 1989 (Taylor’s Version) (No. 2), Lover (No. 3), Folklore (No. 4), and Reputation (No. 5).

In addition to her five top five-charters, two other Swift efforts find space inside the top 10 in Australia this week. Evermore shoots to No. 7, while Red (Taylor’s Version) hits No. 8. Both of those titles sat just below the top 10 last frame, but thanks to a surge in interest, they rocket up the list. Further down the tally, Swift fills another three spaces on the 50-rung roster.

Swift just played three nights in Melbourne, and nearly 300,000 fans showed up to sing along to her slew of hits. Starting tonight (February 23), she’ll headline four nights in Sydney. After Australia, the singer will play a few dates in Asia before heading to Europe.

How much is Taylor Swift making from the Australian concerts of her Eras tour?

It is estimated the seven shows will earn the singer $35m on top of the expected $700m for her US concerts

Australians will be playing their part in possibly inducting Taylor Swift into the billionaires club, with some industry insiders estimating the pop star could pocket as much as A$35m from the Australian leg of her Eras tour alone.

Estimates in the US put Swift’s earnings at an average of US$13.6m (A$20.5m) a show, based on an average ticket price of US$215, meaning she would gross more than US$700m from the 52 dates in the North American leg. That is without taking into account the more than 50 concerts she is performing around the world.

Some observers have estimated that a huge star like Swift could pocket about 40-60% of the profits a show, and that her North American leg generated more than US$2m in merchandise sales a concert.

An industry insider estimates that Swift will earn about $5m for each of her seven concerts in Australia, after her transport, accommodation, production and publicity costs, venue hire and management fees have been taken care of, and the ticketing partners have collected their share.

The insider said $5m a show was a reasonable ballpark figure, based on the average cost of a ticket, multiplied by the two venues’ capacity over seven shows, and less all the associated costs, which the industry keeps close to its chest on the grounds of commercial in confidence.

A huge rise in the costs of touring live music could however eat into Swift’s potential $35m Australian payday. Evelyn Richardson, the chief executive of Live Music Australia, said the costs of putting a major show on the road have risen by 30% since the country emerged from pandemic lockdowns.

“This is what the promoters are telling us, that there are major supply chain issues and significant increases in freight costs,” she said. “We’ve also got a rise in inflation, and we know ticket sales to live concerts are still down about 35% on pre-Covid figures, so rising costs and less demand has created a perfect storm.

“But a Taylor Swift concert is obviously in a different category, where demand is clearly outstripping supply when it comes to buying tickets.”

General sales for Swift’s four concerts at Sydney’s Accor Stadium and three concerts at Melbourne Cricket Ground sold out on Friday afternoon. The stadium capacity at the MCG will be more than 100,000, while Accor has a capacity of 83,500.

When asked to comment on the costs and logistics of the Swift Australian tour, a spokesperson from Frontier said “no one is permitted from Frontier, or venues, ticketing agencies, partners, [to talk] on behalf of the tour”.

The Sydney and Melbourne-only tour has resulted in Virgin Australia reporting a 656% increase in bookings from Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth to the cities around the seven concert dates: 16-18 February in Melbourne at the MCG and 23-26 February in Sydney at the Accor Stadium.

By then, Swift will be nearing a year on the road, with the Eras tour having begun in the US in March.

Forbes, which put Swift’s net worth at US$570m in 2022, estimates that once she has paid her costs, the US leg of the tour will probably lift her net worth to $780m, including real estate and other assets. In May, CBS estimated the tour could lift her net worth by US$500m – and if Forbes’ estimates are correct, would make her a billionaire. The Wall Street Journal has predicted it could be the first global concert tour to generate more than US$1bn, breaking the record held by Elton John.
