noun,plural com·mu·ni·ties.

  • a social group where people share common interests.

globetrotter

  • a person who travels regularly or frequently to countries all over the world.

Community Globetrotters

  • a company that brings well-traveled people together to share in extraordinary vacation experiences while bonding with their fellow travelers over their common enthusiasm for cultural experiences, culinary delights, and the finer things in life.

Community, like good food and wine, brings people together!

After spending years as an avid traveler exploring dozens of countries, I decided that one country captured my heart and soul like no other: Italy. Italy has a variety of magnificent landscapes from the rolling hills of Tuscany to the glistening lake region, to the awe-inspiring Italian Alps, to the canals of Venice, to the stunning seaside cliffs of the Amalfi Coast. There is something for everyone and that’s before you throw in the extraordinary food, wine, history, museums, and fabulous people. If I had to choose only one county to vacation in for the rest of my life it would be Italy.

Maybe it’s in my blood? My ancestors on my mother’s side came from Rome and I was very close with my grandmother. I have always admired the passion that Italians have for their country’s food and wine culture. I’m grateful that my Italian side of the family was able to give me a small glimpse of the warm hospitality, hugs, loud laughter, drama, and cultural heritage of the Italian people. I admire the pride that they gained from seeing how delicious food and wine could bring people together and build bonds in a community.

Community Globetrotters specializes in luxury vacations to Italy for wine and food enthusiasts. Our goal is to bring people together who value authentic cultural experiences, culinary delights, and the finer things in life. Through our local connections,  we are able to provide our travelers with off-the-beaten path authentic cultural experiences with a focus on exceptional food and wine. Our exclusive tours open the door to a more authentic Italy for those who may or may not have been lucky enough to grow up with Italian grandparents!

At Community Globetrotters, we are dedicated to providing exceptional travel experiences and are partnered exclusively with providers who share our unwavering commitment to excellence. We partner with the best names in the travel industry, most of whom have been operating for over 50 years.

Whether you're booking a family vacation, an immersive culinary trip, or a week of wine tastings, embark on your unforgettable journey knowing that you are in the best hands.

7 Tips for Travelling with A Large Group

group of adult friends walking with suitcases in a beach town

Travelling with a large group for company can be cool (not to mention a great way to save), but certain difficulties can arise. For example, in the organization and agreeing on how costs should be split.

It’s necessary to compromise and please everyone the best you can, as well as take responsibility for entertainment and overnight accommodation.

Oh, there’s a lot to do, especially if you’re one of the designated organizers! Therefore, here we’re going to share with you how to do the impossible – to organize a group trip so that everyone enjoys it!

This post is part of our family travel advice series

What are the benefits of group travel there are enough advantages:.

  • Savings on housing. For example, you can rent a villa! It will be hard for two people, but with a group – be it several families or a large group of friends the cost per person can reduce significantly.
  • The opportunity to get on excursions for groups. Some places can be accessed only if there is a group of several people. If you are out of season and there are few tourists, your group may be extended access privileges.
  • You will see familiar people from a new side.
  • Meet new people (if there are any in the company).
  • Anywhere is more fun together!

No matter how close friends and family are, spending 24/7 with the same people can be difficult. They often go on trips as best friends and return as sworn enemies.

So that a joint trip does not become a test of strength for your friendship and family ties, we have collected some valuable tips from people who often travel in large groups to help make your travel planning easier.

1. Choose fellow travellers properly

First, decide with whom you want to go on a trip. Choose people proven by time and situations, otherwise, you may be deeply disappointed with your group travel experience.

2. Make an itinerary in advance

For some people, a vacation is to lie on the beach for hours, drinking a cocktail, and for others – to have time to visit a dozen museums, galleries, and shops. We are all different, and that’s why everyone has the right to wish for something for themselves personally from the trip.

As a homework assignment, we advise you to draft a list of mandatory places in advance, think about event transportation solutions and discuss it with your travel companions. Try to take into account the wishes of everyone, look for common ground, and compromise.

A great idea is to use an itinerary planning tool where all group members can view the proposed locations, from accommodation choices to daily activities, and add their own suggestions.

Don’t be afraid to discuss every detail of the route in advance and use the internet for travel planning – this will help to avoid a significant part of possible reasons for conflicts on the journey itself.

3. Choose a leader

It may seem a little strange, but having a group leader most often works for the benefit of the group. With the approval of the leader, the group must decide who will take care of what. It always makes sense to divide each activity into smaller tasks and make someone responsible.

These small tasks can be deciding on dates, budget, accommodation, directions, events, etc; don’t let it all fall on one person, but do have one person taking the overall coordination roll.

4. Discuss the budget

Perhaps this is the most unpleasant point. Nothing spoils people, and the relationship between them like money.

Specify in advance the amounts that everyone is willing to spend; the same amount for someone can mean a vacation in a luxury hotel on the ocean, or this money will allow five nights in a cosy hostel in Barcelona, a couple of hearty dinners, and limited shopping.

5. Think about your daily routine

The questions “What time do we get up?” and “When do we go to bed?” it is also better to discuss it in advance. It will not be difficult for someone to jump up at 6 am and be the first to stand in line for an overview of the Eiffel Tower, but for someone, such an early rise is a whole feat.

One may want to carouse all night long in bars and local eateries; the other is important to get enough sleep so as not to feel overwhelmed in the morning.

6. Take a break from each other

There is nothing criminal in spending some time apart from each other on a trip. And this does not mean that you are bad friends and you cannot be relied on, it simply means each can pursue their own interests, and you all get that little bit of “me time”.

7. Be flexible and positive

Treat everything with humour. Don’t be afraid to change your plans. Be open to everything new. Be brave! If you don’t like Paris, go to Bordeaux, Strasbourg or Marseille. Make concessions, and do not forget to treat each other with respect, care, and understanding.

For sure, a lot of cool and atypical things will happen on such a trip. With friends, it’s easier to decide on some crazy act. Well, when will you still launch fireworks at 3 a.m. on the seashore in a storm? You can just give yourself up to the flow of events: there are always a lot of ideas in the company, and some of them will become a new experience for you.

Now over to you, do you have any further tips to share on travelling as a group? Let us know in the comments below .

7 Useful Apps Every Traveler Should Know About

By Harrison Pierce

Technology continues to make travel easier for millions of people around the globe. New apps offer travelers fresh ways to research a destination, connect with fellow globetrotters, communicate with locals, and track their flights. As a full-time digital nomad , I’ve learned the importance of having the right tools at your disposal when on the road.

Over the past few years, I’ve visited dozens of countries, flown hundreds of thousands of miles, and tested countless apps to find the ones that prove to be the most helpful. And while tools like Meetup, Google Maps, Google Translate, currency converters, and vacation rental , airline, and hotel–specific apps are in fact indispensable on most trips, I find that many of the best travel apps are still undiscovered by my fellow travelers.

Below, seven travel apps that make life on the go markedly easier (and more fun), from real-time flight trackers to photo-sharing gems—all of these apps are free, but some have paid pro versions worth considering. Don’t think these apps are only for full-time travelers—they prove useful for every type of traveler, whether you're in a brand-new destination or back for a return visit.

Discover the best apps for travelers:

Apps for flying, apps for exploring, apps for photo sharing.

Image may contain: Aircraft, Airliner, Airplane, Transportation, Vehicle, and Flight

My favorite app on this list is Flighty, a must-have for any frequent flier . The free version is fantastic, but I recommend splurging for the premium version, which gives you even more useful information and comes at a reasonable cost of $48 per year. The functionality it provides more than justifies the price.

The free version allows you to input all future flights plus past journeys you've taken within the last year. It provides updated information if any schedule changes occur to upcoming flights and allows you to track all the miles you’ve flown in one place.

The other main benefit is that it allows you to share your flight information with friends and family members who are also on Flighty. They will receive real-time updates about your flight without you having to text them. My parents love to make sure I’m safe so they appreciate getting detailed information about my travels—even while I’m in the air.

Image may contain: Gun, Weapon, Shooting, and Spiral

Flightradar24 is a favorite app among fellow aviation geeks. It lets you track almost any aircraft you see in the air throughout the day or night. You can track your own flight, a friend's flight, or any plane you see in real-time. It shares plenty of cool data, like the altitude, speed, arrival and departure airports and times, and tail number.

Image may contain: Logo, and First Aid

There are tons of eSIM apps on the market, but Airalo is probably my favorite, with digital SIM cards available for dozens of countries. I find it to be the most reliable and offers the best data packages. It can be a little pricey, but it is the best option if you’re only taking short trips. Holafly is another eSIM app that offers unlimited data and works well, but I find the app to be much more glitchy than Airalo and would recommend using the desktop version.

Image may contain: Symbol, First Aid, Text, and Logo

This one is for the planner of the group. Wanderlog merges the best of a bunch of different apps into one. Imagine an app that lets you plan a trip with ease: collaborate with friends as if you’re on Google Docs, manage expense tracking like Splitwise, and have a central place for your reservations, checklists, and more. Tripit is a similar travel planner app, so you can download both and get a feel for which interface you like better.

Image may contain: Paper, and Ice

Been allows you to track the countries you’ve visited and make a wish list of places you can’t wait to cross off your travel bucket list . It gives you information like the percentage of the globe you’ve been to and shows you a world map of your trips. It’s always fun to add in a new country whenever I reach my destination.

Image may contain: Sign, Symbol, Road Sign, and Weapon

This app was introduced to me by fellow nomads I met at a cafe in Montevideo, Uruguay . It automatically tracks your route across the world, allowing you to quickly upload pictures throughout your travels that can be viewed by anyone who has access to your profile. It’s an excellent way to share important moments with loved ones without needing to send photos to each person individually. Users can also create easily accessible guides filled with up-to-date information to help you plan your own trip.

Image may contain: Symbol, Number, Text, and First Aid

Steller is another app that a friend recently introduced me to, and I’ve quickly fallen in love with it. It uses a combination of AI and user experiences to help you plan trips around the globe. From recommendations of things to see, like the Recoleta Cemetery in Buenos Aires or the Royal Palace of Naples, to full guidebooks created by users, you can get inspired, book experiences, and discover hidden gems within this app.
