How To Write A Report On Your School Trip Experience

We know what it’s like in teaching these days: everything needs a write-up. And school trips are no exception: from writing permission letters to parents, to the post-match analysis that are school trip reports.

Fortunately, the experts at NGT are here to help. Our tour planning tools page and Trip HQ hub contain all sorts of teacher resources, from letter templates to packing checklists. So you can get a head start on all that admin, and build a school trip your students will never forget.

As for how to write a report on a school trip, we can help with those too. Just read on for our handy guide.

The school trip report format

When reporting on a  school trip , there are no ‘set’ ways to get started.

However, we’ve included some school trip report examples below, and outlined a few essential sections to help you out.

As for the length of your school trip report, you should aim for about two to three pages. This might sound quite long, but once you’ve filled out the key elements, it should come together fairly easily.

The School Trip Aims and Objectives

Every school trip should have some solid objectives behind it: from allowing  geography  students to see coastal erosion in action, to letting your French class practice their language skills at a real  Parisian  market.

Hence, the aims and objectives should be the first and most important part of your school trip report. A bulleted list will suffice.

The school trip location

In your analysis of your school trip, it’s also important to explain why you chose that location.

Was it a once in a lifetime chance to experience other cultures? Or an opportunity for students to get to know their local area?

It’s also worth noting down why this place, in particular, is relevant to your specific  study topics . From museums and art galleries to sights and sounds, what is it about this  destination  that makes it the perfect spot to enhance your pupils’ classroom learning?

The school trip diary

A good school trip report should always include some diary-style entries. If it was a day trip, write up what your students did in the morning and afternoon. If you enjoyed a longer visit, you can separate out the activities from each day.

However, rather than simply writing down the itinerary, make sure you explain how students felt, and what they learned. Adding little details like what the weather was like, and all the sights and sounds you noticed, can really help to bring your experience to life.

A top tip is to use the daily entries within  WST’s Trip HQ , therefore all your notes are securely kept in one place.

The school trip outcomes

This section is all about the educational impact of your adventure. Did your students fulfil their original objectives? What little surprises did you encounter along the way? Was there anything they learned that they didn’t expect to?

Once you’ve answered these questions, it’s time to establish the impact this experience will have in the classroom. For  modern foreign language  students, this might be improved fluency in their chosen language. For  art students , it might be inspiration for their coursework. For geographers, a case study they can use in their exams.

Whatever it is, write it down – it’s a crucial part of your school trip report.

Introduction.

Educational trips offer students a unique chance to learn in new environments. They are an effective way of teaching, making the learning process more enjoyable.

Benefits of Educational Trips

These trips allow students to see and experience things they wouldn’t in a classroom. It enhances their understanding and knowledge of the subject.

Learning and Fun

250 Words Essay on Educational Trip

Educational trips, often referred to as field trips, offer a practical learning experience that extends beyond the traditional classroom environment. These journeys hold a significant place in the educational curriculum, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.

Value Addition to Learning

An educational trip provides a platform for students to encounter and explore new things in an authentic setting. It encourages experiential learning and makes education exciting and fun. The trip’s experiences help students understand concepts better, as it allows them to witness the practical implementation of theories learned in classrooms.

Development of Interpersonal Skills

Educational trips also foster interpersonal skills. Students get to interact with peers, teachers, and guides in a less formal context, which enhances their communication skills, teamwork, and leadership abilities. It also helps to instill a sense of responsibility as students are expected to conduct themselves appropriately outside the school environment.

Enhancement of Cultural Understanding

These trips often expose students to diverse cultures, traditions, and lifestyles, promoting cultural understanding and empathy. Visiting historical sites, museums, or interacting with local communities can provide students with a broader perspective of the world.

In conclusion, educational trips are a critical part of the learning process. They not only supplement classroom learning but also promote personal growth and cultural understanding. 500 Words Essay on Educational Trip

The value of educational trips.

Educational trips, often referred to as field trips, are integral components of the learning process. They provide a practical, immersive experience that enhances academic understanding and contributes to personal development. The importance of such trips extends beyond mere recreation, offering a unique blend of education and entertainment.

Enriching Learning Experience

Educational trips offer an enriching learning experience that cannot be replicated within the confines of a classroom. They provide a hands-on approach to learning, making abstract concepts tangible. For instance, a trip to a museum can bring historical events to life, while a visit to a science center can elucidate complex scientific principles. Such experiences foster a deeper understanding and retention of academic content.

Development of Soft Skills

Beyond the academic enrichment, educational trips also foster the development of essential soft skills. They encourage teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Students learn to navigate new environments, interact with different people, and manage unexpected situations. These skills are not only essential for academic success but are also invaluable life skills.

Exposure to Real-World Applications

Educational trips offer students the opportunity to see the real-world application of the knowledge they acquire in classrooms. A trip to a botanical garden, for instance, can demonstrate the practical application of botany, while a visit to a manufacturing plant can elucidate the principles of production and operations management. This exposure can help students make informed career choices and understand the relevance of their studies.

Enhancing Cultural Understanding

Educational trips, especially those to different countries or cultural settings, can significantly enhance cultural understanding and tolerance. They expose students to diverse cultures, traditions, and lifestyles, fostering empathy and respect for cultural differences. This multicultural exposure is crucial in our increasingly globalized world, where cross-cultural understanding is key to success.

Creating Lasting Memories

Lastly, educational trips create lasting memories and build camaraderie among students. Shared experiences, whether marveling at a historical artifact or navigating a new city, foster a sense of community and friendship. These memories often become cherished parts of a student’s educational journey.

In conclusion, educational trips are a critical aspect of the holistic learning process. They offer an enriching academic experience, foster the development of essential soft skills, provide real-world exposure, enhance cultural understanding, and create lasting memories. It is imperative for educational institutions to recognize their value and incorporate them into their curricula to ensure a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for students.

A couple of short essay examples on an adventurous trip.

Table of Contents

My Adventurous Trip Essay Example 1

Traveling is one of the most exciting experiences one can have in life. It allows us to explore new places, meet different people, and create unforgettable memories. My recent adventurous trip was one such experience that I will cherish for a lifetime. The trip involved hiking through a dense forest, crossing a river, and reaching the summit of a mountain, where I enjoyed a breathtaking view. Despite facing challenges such as unpredictable weather and rough terrain, the trip was a memorable and rewarding experience. In this essay, I will share my experience of this adventurous trip, highlighting the challenges, the exhilarating moments, and the memories that I will cherish forever.

Our trip started with hiking through a dense forest. The forest was full of tall trees, colorful flowers, and chirping birds. The trail was steep and rocky, and we had to be careful while walking. The forest was so dense that we could hardly see the sun, and the air was full of freshness. We had to take breaks in between to catch our breath and hydrate ourselves. As we walked, we could hear the sound of a river, and after a few hours of hiking, we finally reached the river. The river was wide and had a strong current, and we had to cross it to continue our journey. We had to be careful while crossing the river, and we held hands to maintain our balance. The water was cold, and we could feel the current pushing us, but we made it to the other side, feeling proud of ourselves.

The highlight of our trip was reaching the summit of the mountain. The climb was steep and exhausting, but the view from the top was worth every effort. From the top of the mountain, we could see the entire valley, and it was a sight to behold. The sky was clear, and the sun was shining brightly, making the view even more beautiful. We took pictures and sat there for a while, enjoying the serene beauty of nature. We could hear the sound of birds and feel the cool breeze on our faces. It was a moment of pure bliss, and we felt grateful for being able to witness such a beautiful view.

Despite facing challenges such as unpredictable weather and rough terrain, the trip was a memorable and rewarding experience. We had to face unexpected rain and strong winds, which made the climb more challenging. We slipped a few times, but we managed to keep going, motivated by the thought of reaching the summit. The journey was long and tiring, but the memories we created were worth it. We bonded with our fellow travelers, shared laughter, and created memories that we will cherish forever. The trip taught us to be resilient, to push ourselves beyond our limits, and to appreciate the beauty of nature.

In conclusion, my adventurous trip was an unforgettable experience that allowed me to explore the beauty of nature, push my limits, and create memories that I will cherish forever. Hiking through a dense forest, crossing a river, and reaching the summit of a mountain were challenging but rewarding experiences. Despite facing unpredictable weather and rough terrain, we persevered and created memories that will stay with us for a lifetime. The trip taught us the importance of resilience, perseverance, and appreciation for the beauty of nature. It was an experience that I will always treasure and would love to relive again.

My Adventurous Trip Essay Example 2

My adventurous trip was an experience of a lifetime. It was a chance for me to step out of my comfort zone and explore the great outdoors. The trip was filled with activities such as hiking, camping, and kayaking. The beautiful scenery and wildlife sightings made the trip memorable. Overcoming challenges such as inclement weather and physical exertion added to the sense of accomplishment and adventure. In this essay, I will share my experiences of this unforgettable trip.

Hiking was one of the most exciting activities of the trip. We started our hike early in the morning, and the trail was challenging, but the view was worth it. The trail led us through dense forests, and we saw wildflowers, butterflies, and birds along the way. We stopped for a break at a small waterfall, and the sound of the water was soothing. As we continued our hike, we came across a steep incline, which was physically demanding, but we pushed on. At the peak, we were rewarded with an incredible view of the valley below. The sense of accomplishment we felt after completing the hike was indescribable.

Camping was another activity that added to the adventure of the trip. We set up our tents near a lake, and the view was breathtaking. We spent the night sitting around a campfire, roasting marshmallows, and sharing stories. The night sky was clear, and we saw countless stars, which was a beautiful sight. The next morning, we woke up early to go kayaking on the lake. The water was calm, and we saw fish jumping out of the water. We even saw a family of ducks swimming nearby. Kayaking was a peaceful and relaxing experience.

The trip was not without its challenges, however. We faced inclement weather during our kayaking, and it was physically demanding. The waves were strong, and the water was choppy. We had to navigate our kayaks through the waves carefully. At times, it was nerve-wracking, but we were able to push through and complete the activity. Overcoming these challenges added to the sense of adventure and accomplishment.

In conclusion, my adventurous trip was an experience that I will cherish forever. The activities such as hiking, camping, and kayaking, the beautiful scenery and wildlife sightings, and the challenges we faced made the trip unforgettable. It was an opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone, explore the great outdoors, and create memories with friends. I hope to have more opportunities like this in the future.

My Adventurous Trip Essay Example 3

Going on an adventurous trip is an experience that many people crave. It is an opportunity to explore new destinations, push oneself to the limit, and create unforgettable memories. I recently had the chance to embark on one such journey, and it was an experience that I will never forget. My adventurous trip involved hiking through a dense forest to reach a remote waterfall. Along the way, I encountered challenging terrain and had to navigate through rough terrain. Despite the difficulties, the stunning views and sense of accomplishment made the trip a truly unforgettable adventure. In this essay, I will describe my trip in detail, highlighting the challenges and the rewards that came with it.

The first part of my adventurous trip involved hiking through a dense forest to reach a remote waterfall. The trail was not well-marked, and the terrain was challenging, consisting of steep inclines, muddy patches, and slippery rocks. The dense foliage made it difficult to see the path ahead, and we had to rely on our instincts and map reading skills to find our way through. The forest was alive with the sounds of birds and small animals, and the air was fresh and invigorating. As we got closer to our destination, the sound of rushing water became louder, and we knew we were getting close. Finally, after several hours of hiking, we arrived at the waterfall, and the sight before us was breathtaking. The waterfall was a powerful force of nature, cascading down from a height of over 100 feet. The water was crystal clear, and the surrounding rocks were covered in moss and ferns. It was a sight that made all the hiking and exertion worth it.

The second part of my adventurous trip involved navigating through rough terrain. The terrain was rocky and uneven, and we had to be careful not to slip or fall. At some points, the trail was so steep that we had to use ropes to climb up or down. The weather was also unpredictable, and we had to be prepared for sudden rain or wind. Despite the challenges, the sense of adventure and excitement kept us going. We were a group of friends, and we encouraged and supported each other along the way. We shared food and water, helped each other over difficult patches, and cheered each other on when we reached a milestone. The journey was not just about reaching the destination; it was also about the bonds we formed and the memories we created.

The final part of my adventurous trip was the sense of accomplishment that came with it. After several hours of hiking, navigating challenging terrain, and enduring unpredictable weather, we finally reached our destination. The feeling of standing in front of the waterfall, surrounded by the beauty of nature, was indescribable. It was a sense of accomplishment that came from pushing ourselves beyond our limits, from facing our fears and overcoming them. We took pictures, laughed, and savored the moment. It was a feeling that stayed with us long after the trip was over. The adventurous trip was not just a physical journey; it was also a journey of the mind and the spirit.

In conclusion, my adventurous trip was an experience that I will never forget. It involved hiking through a dense forest to reach a remote waterfall, navigating through rough terrain, and the sense of accomplishment that came with it. The trip was challenging, but it was also rewarding. It reminded me of the beauty of nature, the importance of perseverance, and the power of friendship. It was an experience that taught me to appreciate the simple things in life and to embrace the adventure that comes with it.

Short Essay on My Trip in 200 words

There are many experiences that we do not forget for a long time. Such experiences are very exciting.

One such experience in my life is a short trip to a village resort in Jaipur. It was a two-day trip and I can recall every moment of it. It was also my first trip without my parents.

The night before the trip I was not able to sleep out of excitement. On the day of the trip, we reached the school at 5 a.m. and boarded the bus to leave for Jaipur. During the six hours of the journey, we enjoyed dancing, singing, and playing games.

We reached our destination in the afternoon. The resort was a true picture of Rajsthan. The colours, the decoration, and the hospitality truly depicted the Rajasthani culture. The rooms, furniture, and the huts were a reconstruction of a village in Rajasthan. It was very exciting to sit and sleep on the Charpoys. We rested a while after lunch.

In the evening we went to the fair. It was a fun-filled affair. There were the traditional dancers, camel rides, a puppet show)and a lavish Rajasthani meal.

The next day after a heavy breakfast and sightseeing, we left for our school and reached late in the evening. It was an experience that made me feel confident.

Essay on A Visit To a Hill Station

Essay on a Trip to a Hill Station ( 300 to 350 words )

It has been very hot summers in Mumbai every year. This summer my father decided to take us to Panchgani for a vacation. We were excited and eager to see the place.

We set out for Panchgani by car. At last, we reached Pune. From Pune, it took us about two hours to reach Panchgani. As we entered Panchgani, we were greeted by the beautiful sight of silver oak trees. These trees are tall, slender, and graceful. They give beauty to the scenery.

We stayed at the Government Tourist Bungalow. It was a comfortable place. The climate was cool and pleasant. It was a welcome change from the burning heat of Mumbai. We spent our time going for walks in the morning and evening. Our bungalow was situated on the side of a hill. It overlooked a deep green valley. It was fun to watch the sunrise and the sunset.

Panchgani has many schools and hotels because it is mainly a tourist resort. There are local residents and the staff of schools and hotels. The places worth visiting are Sidney Point and Table Land. Table Land is a vast stretch of flat land situated on the top of a hill. All the schools play their matches there. When climbing up to Table Land there is a hollow space known as the Devil’s Kitchen.

Panchgani has frequent showers in May. Then the place gets full of a variety of wildflowers and ferns. The mist comes down from the hills and covers everything with a white smoky curtain. Nature has provided Panchgani with beautiful scenery. Our long walks and the cool climate made us very hungry. We ate our food with a hearty appetite. Mahabaleshwar, another hill station, is only eleven miles away from Panchgani. We used to go to Mahabaleshwar every Sunday and enjoy boating on the lake. We enjoyed eating the makai-butta, fresh carrots, and corn-pattice near the lake. We also did horse riding. We were sorry when our holiday was over. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to this hill station. We came back happy and refreshed in body and mind.

Essay on My School Picnic – Essay 1 (200 words)

It was the first day in school after first term examination when school picnic for this year was announced in the class. Everyone has been excited since then. This year’s picnic was destined to be at Vananchal resort which is located in the forest of Jambughoda. Luckily for me and my group permission of our parents has never been a problem, so we were set to go since the day of announcement.

It was a cold winter morning, the school bus departed at sharp seven in the morning. Almost two hour long route to the resort felt like a matter of few minutes as we played fun games with fellow classmates. We reported to the resort at around 9, we were all provided welcome drinks. Then we left for nature walk where we saw varied types of trees and birds. After the nature walk it was time for the most exciting part of the picnic.

Yes! It was pool time which unfortunately couldn’t last whole day. That’s the thing about pool, no matter how long you get to be in it, it’s never enough. Then we had lunch, followed by some fun activities such as rappelling and zip-line which too was fun. The time passed so soon that we couldn’t even realize the day was over. This was indeed a day I’ll cherish for a long time.

Essay on School Picnic to Water Park – Essay 2 (300 words)

Introduction

“Picnic”, a day every student in the school is eagerly awaits the whole year. This year’s school picnic was to be held at Splash Water Park which was at three hour’s drive from our school. Everyone from my class was showing up for the picnic expect for one of my friend Kashyap who unfortunately was out of station on the day of picnic to attend some family function.

School Picnic to Water Park

On the day of the picnic unlike every other day we reported to the school earlier than our regular timings, due to excitement, obviously! Our class was divided into four groups of ten students each. Each group had one leader to watch upon the respective team members. I was the captain of our group.

We reached the destination at 10am and were given half an hour to collect our swim suits take a shower and get ready for the real fun. Water Park was full of amazing water rides namely Demon’s hole, lazy river, Amazonia, free fall, loop hole, etc. Demon’s hole and Amazonia were my favourite. Demon’s hole was a dark cylindrical water slide with utterly thrilling twists and turns and Amazonia was a super large water slide which took us through an artificially created jungle, which gave a feel of passing through the streams in Amazon rain forests.

In lunch, we were served lip-smacking Punjabi food with gulab jamuns in dessert. Then, there was a wave pool, besides which there was a beautiful artificial waterfall. We checked out from the park at 5pm in the evening and returned to our school at around eight.

I remember almost nothing from the return journey as we were all tired till the end of the day. Our legs were paining as they had exercised hard while climbing those steps for the slides, and thus out of exhaustion almost everyone was asleep in the bus while returning. It was a day well spent.

Essay on School Picnic to Amusement Park – Essay 3 (400 words)

Amusement park have always been my favourite destination for a day out. To my delight this year’s school picnic was destined to Essel world. This picnic meant a lot as it was our tenth standard and maybe was the last year together in school. Next year I and my friends will be in different streams. We had every hope to make this one memorable so that we bid goodbye having loads of happy memories.

School Picnic to Amusement Park

Sleepless night has always been a pre-picnic symptom for me. I could never sleep until late at night before picnic out of thoughts of how amazing the following day would be. The way from school to the amusement park was quite a long one during which we played dumb charades and truth and dare to kill time.

We were dropped at a place via bus from which we had to check in a boat to further reach the amusement park. From the boat we could see a ride called Shot-N-Drop. We could hear the shouts of people enjoying the ride and could feel the thrill from the boat itself. It was our day today, maybe the last one with our people, and we had to make the most out of it. So, without even wasting a minute we rushed into the park to gain the most out of it.

Today, I don’t remember every ride we had been on, but I still remember the butterflies in my stomach when a ride named thunder swung us all from one side to the other, those moments of thrill and fear when Shot-N-Drop had us on free fall, those goose bumps when Top-Spin whirled us round, those stupid laughs when our dashing cars dashed into others, that joy of finally making out of Alibaba’s mirror maze and that tingling moment when Aqua-dive splash splashed upon us the droplets of cold water.

The happiness that we gained in the most simple things in life, bursting into laughter after playing pranks on our fellow classmates and that momentary anger of the one who had been pranked, those tired yet smiling faces at the end of the day and many more tingling moments are the memories to cherish forever.

Memories of this day will always hold a cosy corner in my and all our hearts. Somewhere I still wish if I could go back to this day again and feel that same thing with those same people all over again.

Essay on School Picnic to Zoo – Essay 4 (500 words)

I was in standard 3 rd when my school had arranged a picnic to Kamla Nehru zoo situated besides Kankaria Lake, Ahmedabad. Being a kid, I was extremely excited for the picnic. A day before picnic I went to the nearby shop with my father to buy some snacks for the picnic. I bought a packet of chips, cookies, soya sticks and few packets of chewing gum.

My School Picnic to Zoo

This was probably the only day in the whole year when I would pack my things up the previous night, obviously because I didn’t want to get late on the picnic day. After making my things ready I made a conference call with my friends. We discussed about how excited we all were for our picnic. We fixed the time we were going to catch up the next day.

I was up before the alarm despite not being able to sleep until late at night. I got to school at around 7am in the morning, half an hour prior to the reporting time. We had to be in pair on this day, which was decided on the basis of roll numbers, luckily for me I partnered up with Manan whose number was right next to me. Singing, dancing, playing we travelled the road till the destination. We were served ice-cream as soon as we got there. We were all excited to step in the zoo.

First of all we had to enter the bird section where we saw a number of varied and beautiful birds. Toucan, a black and yellow coloured bird with a large beak, kingfisher a little bird with most vivid colours, Hornbill a beautiful bird with a horn like thing on its head and albatross a fine white and black coloured with aquatic habitat were some of the birds we saw. We also saw deer, hippopotamus, fox, wolf, alligator, crocodile, wild ass, yellow python snake, bear and many more. But our favourite ones were still left, where we had to visit after the lunch.

Finally, after the lunch it was the time for which we were all so excited about – to see the fastest animal cheetah, the national animal tiger and of course the king of the jungle, lion. We also saw jaguar and leopard. We were done with the zoo at around 3 in the afternoon, and we had time until 5 pm so the teachers decided to take us all to have a look around at Kankaria Lake. It was a beautiful place.

We sat on a mini toy train there which took us on a ride around the lake. After everyone completed the ride, it was almost 5 which was the time to leave for home. Teachers started counting the number of students, which brought them to the conclusion that one kid from our class has been missing. The teachers panicked however they were finally able to find Hussain, the lost one after 10 minutes of search operation.

Today, it might be a mere picnic to a zoo, but when I remember back I realized how these little things used to make me happy.

Essay on School Picnic to Kidzania – Essay 5 (600 words)

School trips are the most awaited ones. They not only give us a long break from our monotonous lives but also bring lots of memories. Last year, I went to Kidzania for the school trip and here are my experiences from that trip.

My School Picnic to Kidzania

Our day at Kidzania began at 9 in the morning. I was stunned looking at this wonderful place which was actually a city which we have all dreamt about. It was clean, had well organized buildings, well developed roads, factories, police station, grocery shops, trees and everything that is present in a well developed city. The day began with Kidzania theme song where all the staff members dance and welcome the kids and their parents.

Just as every country has its own currency; Kidzania also has its own currency named Kidzos. After entering every child is given a cheque of 50 Kidzos which he/ she can withdraw whenever needed to enjoy the activities in the Kidzania world.

There were different buildings build for different purposes. There were offices, factories and many other places where we can work and get salary in Kidzos. The kids are divided in different groups for different jobs as per their age. First of all, I and my friends went to the dentist and learnt some skills for removing the tooth having cavities. Not only this, we also did check up of other kids with different instruments. At the end of that, the head dentist made us understand about how crucial it is to do proper brushing. After that, we went to the bakery and made our very own delicious donuts.

We also did the wall painting on a very huge wall besides the road. Then, we got to know that there is a fashion show and we can walk on the ramp wearing those beautiful clothes. I and my friends couldn’t control our excitement and we immediately went for that. We walked through the ramp and it was an amazing experience. To our excitement, we saw an ice cream parlour next to that building. Going inside we realized that we can make our own ice cream, of whichever flavour we like. Similarly, there was a Kinder Joy factory where we made Kinder Joy and a Kellogs factory where we made Chocos.

Not just work, there were buildings in which there were classes to learn dance, play guitar, drums and flute, and also sing. So, we tried out almost everything we could. I learnt few notes on guitar and that was my first time on any musical instrument. After learning all this new stuff, we thought to try our hands on gadgets also. So, we went to the gadget store nearby where we were given information about the technology used in mobile phones and laptops. It was real fun.

To end our tour, there was a series of folk dances and music where all the kids had prepared something of their own for the entertainment of the audiences. I was also a part of a group with whom I performed Bhangra. This made us interact with other kids more and that is where I made my new friends who were basically from Amritsar, my birth place. All of the shows, including the singing event, helped us know how amazingly talented other kids were. After all of this there was a thank you speech by the staff members with whom we were also connected now.

All of this experience of being part of this amazing world was beyond words. It was the world where we not just used the amenities but also helped in creating them. The joy of making something on your own was just beyond words. Every kid should once visit Kidzania in their childhood and make long lasting memories there.

a visit to a zoo

Essay on a Visit to a Zoo: 500 Words

Introduction:.

Everyone needs relaxation and an occasional deviation from the drudgeries of daily existence. A visit to a zoo can offer him these. At the same time, it is a learning experience. It was with this intention that visited the Alipore Zoological Garden last 25th December with some of my friends. This visit was memorable because it was both enjoyable and educational.

Entering the Zoo:

We reached the gate of the zoo in a taxi around 10 am. One has to buy tickets to enter the zoo. A number of visitors were already standing in a queue before the ticket counter. We stood behind them, got our tickets and entered the big arena of the zoo.

Various Types of Birds and Animals:

We crossed the green sward and were greeted by varieties of monkeys in cages. Monkeys and baboons were jumping on the trees within their enclosures. When some people threw food at them, they immediately jumped down from the trees to eat. Some children were making faces at them.

Then, we came across a beautiful lake in which some water birds like ducks and swans were present. There were some migratory birds as well. As we moved, we came to the big netted enclosure in which birds were kept. There were sparrows, parrots, and many other birds. Most of them were twittering, chirping and whistling. But the owls were sitting with their eyes closed as if they were lost in deep thought. The chirping of the birds went on ringing deep in my heart. In their songs, I heard the voice of nature to which the whole universe surrendered. I felt that all was right with the world.

We visited the tigers, lions, zebras, giraffes, rhinos and elephants. Roars of the lions and the tigers were deafening. We found a tiger pacing restlessly with its bloodshot eyes. It was strongly built.

Then we came across a garden in which stags and deer were frisking about. These animals were very agile and beautiful.

Our next halt was at the aquarium section. There were fishes of many species and colours. To see them swimming to and fro in the water was really a rewarding experience. Just beside this enclosure, was the cage of a black bear. It attracted a mammoth gathering. The bear was playing many tricks that thrilled us. Some people offered it eatables which it gulped at once.

Leaving the Zoo:

At about 2 pm, feeling tired, we rested and relaxed on the grassy ground for half an hour. The fragrance of flowers coming from somewhere was really soothing. We again began to stroll around the zoo after having our lunch. We saw a variety of amphibians like crocodiles, snakes, frogs, and a variety of other creatures. Then we hired a boat and enjoyed a short pleasurable ride in the canal. It was around 5 pm when we came out of the zoo. We boarded a bus, casting our last and lingering look on the zoo.

Conclusion:

I reached home in a cheerful mood. This visit refreshed my mind and deepened my awareness of the animal world.

I consider my school as the best school because it supports and encourages every student to do their best and make progress. Fortunately, my school provides the best environment, the best teachers, and the best facilities.

Our Class teacher greets us daily and asks about us. He is quite a cool and kind man. He entertains us along with teaching his subject. We learn a lot of things like discipline, self-help, confidence, and cooperation here. As I enter my classroom I feel quite happy and relaxed.

My School Essay 500 Words

The place where children as the leaders of tomorrow study and where the future of the nation is shaped are called schools. Education is an essential weapon for tomorrow, so the good schools of today are important for the best future of a nation. Schools are the center of learning where we attend classes on various subjects, interact with the teachers, get our queries

answered, and appeared in exams. In my school, learning is more like a fun activity, because of the extra-talented teaching staff.

My school is a government primary school located on the outskirts of the city. Usually, when people think about a government school, they perceive it to be at an isolated location and have poor basic amenities and teaching facilities. But, despite being a government school, my school defies all such speculations. Teachers of my school are not only knowledgeable about the subjects they teach but also are skilled enough to teach through fun activities. For example, our physics teacher explains every concept by stating real-life examples that we could relate to. This way we not only understand the subject better. Moreover, not a moment I remember, when any teacher had ever replied rudely to any of the students. They always patiently listen and provide answers to all the queries posed to them. Learning at my school is fun and it is made possible only because of the teachers.

My school is very important in my life, in a way even more than my family. My family gives me love, care, and affection, and provides for all my other essential needs. But, all of this isn’t enough to make me a good human being and succeed in life.  Favorably, I am lucky enough to be enrolled in a prestigious school, and gaining a wonderful education, looking forward to realizing my dreams one day. The most necessary for success in life is education, and only my school provides it to me. Without my school and the education that it gives, I would be like a confused and wandering soul, almost aimless in life.

My school helps with my educational and overall personality development. It imparts education through classes, tests, and exams to teach me how to conduct myself confidently. It just feels so great to be in my school and be a part of everyday activities, be it lectures, sports, or Something else. While in school, I always feel happy, confident, enthusiastic, and loved. I make friends at school, those whom I will never forget and will always love them. My family supports my materialistic needs, but school is the place where my actual physical, social, and mental development takes place.  I know that every question that crosses my mind will be answered by my teachers. I also know that my school friends will always be at my side whenever I need them to be. As much as the studies, my school also stresses much on These activities as the management thinks that extracurricular activities are very essential for our overall personality development. My school provides dedicated teachers and staff for each extracurricular activity. We have a big sports ground with kits for all the major sports; a covered auditorium for dance and music and a separate basketball court.

The role my school plays in my personality development is fantastic. It not only imparts education in me but also teaches me how to conduct myself and how to behave decently and properly. I get trained in all the other necessary skills of life, like how to keep calm in challenging situations and help others as well. My school teaches me to be a good and evolved human being, to stay composed and progressive always. It also teaches me to be kind and generous to others and not differentiate them based on their caste, religion, ethnicity, or other divisions. These are some of the most essential personality traits that my school imparts to me, something that I will always be thankful for. Every time I think of my school, I think of it as a temple of education. A temple, where my soul meets education, making my life more meaningful and useful to society and the nation as well. It is a place where my aspirations get a wing and I get the strength and confidence to realize them. No other place in the entire world could replace my school and the role that it plays in my life. I will always be thankful to my friends, teachers, and the staff of my school, for making it such a comfortable and Educational place of learning.

WCM-Q essay competition winners return from US trip

Three high school students who won study trips to the US in Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar’s (WCM-Q) Healing Hands essay competition returned to the college to share their travel experiences with senior faculty.

Students Fatima Mohammed Al-Abdulla (Qatar Academy Al Wakra), Khalid Abdulrahman Al-Nabti (Qatar Academy Doha), and Sultan Al-Malki (Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys) spent one week at Cornell University in Ithaca, upstate New York, with Fatima and Khalid then going on to spend a week at Weill Cornell Medicine’s campus in New York City.

The study trips were part of the WCM-Q Doctors of the Future Summer Scholarship, which were awarded to the students after they were judged by a panel of experts at WCM-Q to have written the best 800-word essays on the topic of regenerative medicine.

In Ithaca, the students completed academic sessions on research skills, medical ethics, and medical humanities with Dr. Krystyna Golkowska, professor of English, director of ESL and coordinator of writing seminars, and visited the Cornell Biotechnology Research Center, the College of Veterinary Medicine’s Department of Biomedical Sciences, and the Paleontological Institute, among many other activities. They also toured the Ithaca campus, which is famed for its idyllic forests, waterfalls, parks and architecture.

In New York City the students completed sessions in the laboratory of Dr. Randi Silver, associate dean of Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, learning general lab skills such as pipetting and using a digital imaging microscope, and preparing cultures of lung fibroblasts (fibrous cellular material) and of airway epithelial cells. Throughout the week the students worked on research projects, which they presented on the final day of the program. Other highlights of the week in NYC included a tour of Weill Cornell Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and sightseeing excursions to famous landmarks.

Following their trips, the three students were welcomed back to the college for a reception with Dr. Javaid Sheikh, dean of WCM-Q.

Dr. Sheikh said: “We are very pleased to welcome our Doctors of the Future Scholarship Awardees back to WCM-Q and greatly encouraged to hear that they had extremely rewarding, inspiring and enjoyable educational experiences during their time in the U.S. We sincerely hope that these talented young people are enthusiastic to pursue careers in medicine by applying to study WCM-Q.”

The Healing Hands essay contest, which is run by the Office of Student Outreach and Educational Development at WCM-Q, is open to Qatari students in grades 10 and 11. The program is designed to inspire young Qatari nationals to think about careers in medicine and biomedical science. In total, 53 essays were submitted in this cycle, making it the highest number of qualifying essays since the inception of the Healing Hands competition in 2008.

Student Sultan Al-Malki said: “The scholarship trip was really an excellent experience, I gained a lot of insight into what life as a medical student, a doctor and a researcher would be like. I think the most rewarding part of the trip for me was visiting the laboratories and seeing how the equipment there works. I have a strong interest in neurology so I was interested to see how I might one day be able to build a career that combines clinical work with neuroscience research.”

Also in attendance at the reception were Dr. Rachid Bendriss, associate dean for foundation, student outreach and educational development programs; and Ms. Noha Saleh, director of pre-medical administration, student outreach and educational development.

Ms. Saleh said: “It is extremely gratifying to see our winning essayists again and to learn how enriching they found their time at Cornell University and Weill Cornell Medicine in New York. I am certain these experiences will give a great boost to their ambitions to join WCM-Q and become qualified physician-scientists working to advance medicine and provide world-class patient care.”
