We did the all day Wine Country Tour, it was great! Our tour guide, Jeffrey, made the experience for us - fun, attentive, knowledgeable, and professional. We loved all of the stops, and appreciated the service at the wine tastings. Dylan's Tours seems to have a very good relationship with the wineries, which makes your experience more special. If you decide to do this your, you won't be disappointed - especially if you get Jeffrey as your guide!
Five of us did a six hour private tour of San Francisco while our cruise ship was in port. Our driver Pur was excellent in customizing our experience. The tour was exactly what we requested and even included a few bonus stops. The trip was pricey, but a bargain compared to the ship's options. We saved money at Muir Woods by using a senior citizen National parks membership card. We chose to walk and lunch in Sausalito while our driver waited for our text to rejoin us. Yes, I would recommend this company. The 9 passenger van was also quite comfortable. Thanks
The seven sisters from the adjacent park.
Highly recommend this tour group!! On a rainy day in Feb 2024 I took their Muir Woods tour at 8 am. This is perfect if you don't rent a car or want to drive in the big city like me. Mark our guide was patient in waiting for guests who were late, attentive to all of us - as a solo traveler I especially appreciate a guide offering to snap your photo on your cell. Otherwise I'd just have awful selfies! Mark knew so much about his city but it was his enthusiasm that made the tour! In addition to an hour in the Muir Woods (a dreamy rainy day) we had lunch on our own in Sausalito and saw several important spots in San Francisco. Stopped at the Palace of Fine Arts, and the GG Bridge. Any tour can get you to and from places but it's the service and tour guide who makes a guided tour worthwhile. Thank you!!

Captain Roger was our Tour Guide, it's obvious he really loves his job. Loved his enthusiasm about the sites we were seeing. Did Muir Woods, Sausalito and Alcatraz. The music was so fitting to the sites. Loved the restaurant recommendation for Chinatown.
Julian was a Gem. Amazing tour guide that showed my wife and I the best San Francisco had to offer. Absolute must
If you look at my review profile, you'll see that I do not like leaving bad reviews. However, I feel it only fair to give a head's up to others. We never made it on the actual tour. The day we made the reservation, I called and left a message. I needed to speak to someone re: logistics as my cousin and I were coming from different places. Did not hear back. In the meantime, her husband tested positive for Covid the day before the tour. So I called early that day (24 hr. before the tour) to cancel. As we approached noontime and I still hadn't heard anything, I texted, emailed, and filled out the cancellation form online. Still heard nothing. I woke up the day of the tour not knowing if they were expecting us. Finally, on the day of the tour, after the time we would have had to meet them, they confirmed the cancellation. I initially called FOUR days before our tour with questions and they just never responded. I added a star since they eventually returned the money, but I would never book with a place again that has such poor costumer service.

Thanks Karen, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you faced with our service. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us identify areas for improvement. We deeply regret the communication lapses that occurred in the lead-up to your tour. It is clear that we fell short in responding to your inquiries promptly and providing the necessary information. We understand the importance of logistics, especially when coordinating with participants arriving from different locations, and we acknowledge that our lack of response added unnecessary stress to your experience. Furthermore, we empathize with the challenging situation you faced with your cousin's husband testing positive for Covid. In such circumstances, timely communication and flexibility are crucial, and we failed to meet your expectations in this regard. We understand the frustration caused by the uncertainty leading up to the tour, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are grateful for your acknowledgment of the refund, and we want to assure you that we take customer service seriously. Your comments have been shared with our team, and we are actively working to improve our communication processes to prevent such occurrences in the future. It's disheartening to hear that your overall experience did not meet our usual standards, and we genuinely appreciate your constructive criticism. If you ever reconsider and give us another chance in the future, we would be committed to providing you with a much-improved experience. Thank you again for sharing your concerns, and we wish you more positive and seamless travel experiences in the future. Best regards, Ted On a side note, our best form of communication is by email. So if anyone wants to ask a question or needs to cancel, please email first.
I booked this tour after reading reviews on TripAdvisor and google. I thought this would be a wonderful way for a group of 8 to see the beautiful city of San Francisco. Boy was I spot on!! This tour was nothing short of amazing and our tour guide, Patrick was meant for this type of job. He was Phenomenal! Here is what I enjoyed most on this tour: 1. An easy and convenient way to see SF in a bus and see the traffic, cable cars, and public transportation navigate through the city. 2. Saw different parts of SF such as Chinatown and other different districts. 3. Of course we rode over and took pics by The Golden Gate Bridge. 4. Patrick offered to take pics as needed. 5. The history of the city provided by Patrick was insightful and added a different element to the tour experience. 6. Muir woods is a lovely national park that is beautiful and feels sacred. The oxygen in this park is rejuvenating. I wish I could bottle it up and bring home. 7. Sausalito is a beautiful and quaint town with breathtaking views of the bay. We did not add on Alcatraz to our tour. We started at 8am and ended around 1 or 2pm. It was just enough time and stimulation before taking a much needed nap. If you want a good quality tour, book Dylan's. If you can, request Patrick and thank me later.

Hi Fetima, We're so glad you had a good time on your tour. Patrick is definitely one of our characters leading our tours. Thanks for taking the time sharing your experience. Thanks, Dylan
We took the Muir Woods + Sausalito tour. Our guide (Mark) was fantastic. He was well prepared with interesting facts, stories, and photos! The tour was well organized with lots of stops and bathroom breaks. But what put the tour over the top was the attention to detail. The music playlist was curated with San Francisco themed songs and the photo opportunities were picked for the optimal lighting (and Mark was happy to take photos). We strongly recommend tours with this company.
My 17yo son and I thoroughly enjoyed the bike tour. We were going to just rent bikes but I came across this tour - so glad I did! We were shown many interesting places including Golden Gate Bridge (which we rode over). Presidio,Chinatown etc A great way to get your bearings in the city. We were allowed to keep the bikes for a further 4 hours after the tour to do our own exploring. A brilliant day!
We did both the Lombard and the Muir Woods/Alcatraz tours. Both were well worth it. Both tour guides Anthony and Rolando were excellent! Very knowledgeable and entertaining. Highly recommend both tours.

The Story Behind Dylan’s Tours
The 25 cents that changed it all
Back in 2003, the world was a different place. Nokia phones were in every hand. Beyoncé had just gone solo. And in San Francisco, Dylan David was faced with an unexpected setback: a rejection for a bagging job at Trader Joe’s. Realizing that nighttime bartending wasn’t going to cut it, Dylan took a chance on an idea — and in doing so, changed the trajectory of his life.
With just 25 cents in his pocket — exactly the cost of a color flier at Kinko’s — Dylan climbed into his well-worn 1990 Dodge Caravan, printed a flier advertising a San Fran tour, and posted it on the wall of a single hostel. This simple act kick-started what would become a decades-long adventure showcasing his native city.
And just like that, Dylan’s Tours was born.
In his reliable ‘soccer mom’ minivan, Dylan took backpackers on unique tours through San Francisco. His tours offered more than the usual sightseeing; these were immersive excursions into the city that combined famous urban attractions with the wild beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Fast forward two decades later, and Dylan’s Tours has grown into a team of passionate local guides, each offering their unique insights into San Francisco. And yet, the essence of the tours remains unchanged: authentic, unscripted, and deeply in tune with the city’s pulse.
Dylan himself is still at the forefront, guiding operations from our office in North Beach, Little Italy, and ensuring every tour lands with the same captivating and authentic spirit as those first tours some twenty years ago.
That’s not to say the journey has been without its bumps…
Everyone has a COVID story, and San Francisco’s was not an easy one. Dylan’s Tours navigated the storm right alongside the city, confronting each challenge with resolve. Reflecting the resilient spirit of the city we cherish, we adapted and persevered, coming out stronger on the other side.
Now more than ever, we’re dedicated to reclaiming and showcasing the unique spirit that makes San Francisco so special.

Check out the places we will explore:
Golden Gate Bridge: Declared “one of the 10 wonders of the modern world,” the Golden Gate Bridge not only one of the most recognized symbols of San Francisco, but one of the most photographed sites in the world. Simply stunning!
The Painted Ladies: Lining Alamo Square, the Victorians along Steiner Street are the most famous of the Painted Ladies, aka “Postcard Row.” These houses are best known during the opening credits in television’s Full House!
Haight-Ashbury: The origin of the hippie culture and the birth place of the “Summer of Love.” From the stunning Painted Ladies to the homes of music’s favorite 60’s bands, this district started the counter-culture movement across the USA.
Golden Gate Park: Clocking in at over 1,000 acres, Golden Gate Park is the largest man-made park in the world. With beautiful Eucalyptus trees, gorgeous gardens and museums that will appeal to all ages (including the De Young and Academy of Sciences), this green space is a highlight of the tour.
Marina: A dreamy neighborhood on the edge of the bay, the Marina entices visitors and locals to its boutique-lined streets and hilly green space. Offers unmatched views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Chinatown: Boasting the largest Chinatown in the United States, this 24-block mecca is bustling with energy, amazing food, and unique and colorful shops that give this area its charm.
North Beach – Little Italy: Voted as one of the USA’s “ten great neighborhoods”, North Beach is best known as the home of Little Italy. From delicious restaurants to authentic sidewalk cafes and bakeries, you will feel the charm of San Francisco as soon as you arrive.
Fort Point: Located just beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, Fort Point gives you a front row seat to the San Francisco Bay. This former military fortification was used during both the Civil War and World War II.
Aquatic Park: Positioned near the end of the Hyde Street Cable Car, Aquatic Park is a National Historic Landmark on the San Francisco Bay. Featuring one of the cleanest beaches in California, be on the lookout for the bold open water swimmers who frequent the area.
Palace of Fine Arts: Inspired by Roman and Greek architecture, the Palace of Fine Arts was originally constructed to celebrate San Francisco’s recovery from the 1906 earthquake. Surrounded by a peaceful garden, it is great for photos.
Ocean Beach: Bordering the Pacific Ocean on the western edge of San Francisco, Ocean Beach is a popular destination for seasoned surfers. Characteristically foggy, the area offers a serene setting outside of the bustling city.
Sea Cliff: Noted for its large houses and ocean views, Sea Cliff’s past residents include actors Robin Williams, Sharon Stone, and billionaire George Soros. Cliff House restaurant is closeby, sitting directly on the Pacific Ocean.
Legion of Honor: Called San Francisco’s most beautiful museum, the palace occupies an elevated site in Lincoln Park and displays a collection of ancient and European art, in an unforgettable setting overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.
