12 handpicked best india group tours, routes and itineraries .
My Favourite India Group Tours – Handpicked by an Expat.
There’s no doubt that India is one of the most fascinating, exotic and potentially life changing travel destinations in the world. However, traveling in India can be challenging, especially the first time and especially for women alone. If you don’t want to travel India alone or you want to leave the planning and organising to the experts and just enjoy your Indian adventure hassle free then taking one of the many India group tours or small group tours might be a good way to ensure your first trip to India is memorable for the right reasons!
There are so many India group tours it can be difficult to decide which company to go with, which places to see and which itinerary is best. After traveling in India for 5 years and living here for 3 I’m often asked to recommend the best India group tours so I thought it would be helpful to put together a list of my favourites from the companies I know, use and trust and also from friends and readers recommendations. I also wrote a post specifically on the best backpacker tours of India.
This isn’t a sponsored post, none of the companies I recommend have asked me to write this article, but I have included affiliate links where possible so that if you do find my recommendations useful and want to book then if you use my links I can earn a commission to keep the site going at no extra cost to you! 😉
Of course, it is possible, and enjoyable, to backpack India independently, even as a solo female traveller ( check out my tips for women here ) But if you are looking for travel buddies, not feeling too confident or just want to relax and enjoy the trip and let the experts do the planning and navigating, then taking a group tour is a good idea, especially if you have limited time as a tour will allow you to see the best of India without the hassle and time spent planning or figuring out how to get to the next destination.
If you’re on a longer trip it’s also a good idea to start off your Indian adventure with a group tour and then once you’re more acclimatized to the craziness you’ll feel more confident to move on and explore on your own, or maybe even with new friends that you met on the tour. Check out my recommended itinerary for 3 months backpacking in India.
Which company does the best India group tours?
There are hundreds of tour companies so its important to do your research not just on the tour itinerary and route but on the company as well and check things like the level of comfort and service and the age group and amount of other customers on the tour to make sure it’s the perfect one for you. You don’t want to end up on a bus with 50 other tourists so most of the companies I’ve recommend specialise in small group tours.
I’ve included a whole range of tours in this post so there should be something for everyone. If you are looking for fun, cheap tours for young travellers and backpackers check out this post specifically on the best backpacker tours of India.
Make sure you choose a reputable company, most of the India group tours I recommend are run by my favourite leading adventure tour companies; G Adventures and Intrepid . Both are award winning tour companies that run some awesome, adventurous, fun and socially responsible, small group tours of India. They have a huge selection with something for all budgets, ages and interests.
Both G Adventures and Intrepid offer last min or special deals so check out G Adventures last minute deals and Intrepid last minute deals before you book as you may be able to find a bargain and save money. Intrepid are also running an initiative to help empower local women by employing more women as tour guides on their India tours. Check out this article in The Guardian for more details.
Geckos Adventures and Contiki are also great for younger travelers as they have really fun and cheap India backpacking tours and trips that are perfect for 18 – 30 somethings. Exodus and Explore also offer good itineraries and small group tours of India aimed at more mature travelers who want more comfort. You can also compare itineraries, reviews and prices from loads of different tour companies and find great deals on Tour Radar – check out this page where you can get 60 % off Asia tours.
I wouldn’t really recommend just finding a cheap deal with an unknown Indian company online, while there are some great companies in India (I’ve recommended some at the bottom of the post) there are also alot of scams so it’s better to stick with a reputable global company that has been tried and tested by many travellers over the years, especially if its your first India trip.
The Best India Group Tours, Routes and Itineraries
To help you find the perfect trip here are my favourite India group tours. I’ve handpicked the best small group tour companies which visit my favourite places in India with the best itineraries and prices.
I’ve listed them in order for duration so you can see the most of India depending on how much time you have. If you’re short on time taking a tour will enable you to see more than if you traveled independently.
There’s something for everyone, if you’re into cycling, river cruises or culinary tours I’ve also included some suggestions at the end of the post. And why not visit neighbouring Sri Lanka or Nepal on the same trip! There are some tours that combine two of these amazing countries into one incredible trip!
The best India group tours – 2 weeks or less
If you have 2 weeks or less to explore India then it really does make sense to take a tour because India is such a diverse and huge country and traveling independently can be challenging and time consuming. So in order to see the most you can and have the best experience in 2 weeks or less then this are the best India group tours.
Intrepid – Golden Triangle Tour – 8 Days
The Golden Triangle tour is the quintessential introduction to India that includes some of the most famous sights in India in a short time. The Golden Triangle includes Delhi, Agra, home to the Taj Mahal and the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur in Rajasthan. This tour with Intrepid also takes you off the tourist trail to visit a village and get an insight into village life in India. Click here for more details and to book. G Adventures also do an 8 day Golden Triangle Tour.
G Adventures – Southern India and Karnataka by Rail– 10 Days
I often recommend starting your Indian adventure in South India as places like Kerala and Goa are much more chilled out and less chaotic than the cities in North India. This tour visits many of my favourite destinations in South India by rail. Traveling by train in India is the best way to travel and it’s an fascinating experience by itself.
Starting in Goa, you can choose to chill out on the beaches or explore the heritage site of Portuguese Old Goa. Next you’ll explore the magical ruins of Hampi, one of my favourite places in India, and then Mysore with it’s flamboyant palace.
Then visit the Tibetan monastery in Bylakuppe, enjoy the views and fabulous coffee in Madikeri and finish in Kochi in Kerala. This tour is packed with highlights and incredible sights but is far from the busy tourist trail of North India. This is one of my favourite India group tours Click here for prices and to book.
G Adventures – Kerala Beaches and Backwaters – 7 Days
South India, especially Kerala and Goa are great places to start your Indian adventure. This tour takes you through the highlights of luscious, tropical Kerala, from historic and multicultural Fort Cochin, to cruising along the famous Kerala backwaters to relaxing on the beaches in Varakala.
A homestay is also included which gives you a chance to experience local life and there’s plenty of opportunities for yoga and Ayurveda. This is a ‘yolo’ trip so it’s perfect for young travellers on a budget. Click here for more details and to book.
G Adventures – North India by Rail – 9 Days
If you are visiting India in the hot months (especially April and May) then escape the heat and head to the Himalayas with this tour that takes in the sights of Delhi before heading to Amritsar where you’ll see the incredible Golden Temple and the bizarre India-Pakistan Wagah border ceremony.
Next head up the mountains to Dharamshala, the home of the Dalai Lama, and the hill station of Shimla. As it’s a tour by rail you’ll also get to travel up the mountains on the famous toy train and the tour even include a G Adventures-supported walking tour led by former Delhi streetkids. Click here for more details and to book.
5. Exodus: Highlights of Northern India – 8 Days
This tour by Exodus will suit those looking to explore the best of North India in comfort and at a relaxed pace. The tour visits the Golden Triangle – Delhi, Jaipur and Agra for the Taj Mahal as well the nearby Fatehpur Sikri – the ruins of Emperor Akbar’s deserted royal capital city. You’ll get 2 chances to spot tigers at Ranthambore National Park and take a sunrise boat ride on the Ganges in the holy city of Varanasi before taking an overnight train back to Delhi. This tour allows you to visit the most iconic sights of North India in only 8 days. Click here to learn more.
6. Geckos Adventures North India Explorer – 11 Days
Geckos India backpacking tours are fun, cheap and adventurous. This North India tour with Geckos covers the highlights of the Golden Triangle as well as the holy city of Varanasi and the more charming, off beat gem of Bundi in Rajasthan. Click here for more details and to book.
The best India group tours – 2 weeks to 1 month
7. intrepid – delhi to goa – 15 days.
This is one of my favourite India group tours as it takes you through the highlights of North India before relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Goa. You’ll visit Delhi, Agra and the Taj Mahal before traveling through the highlights of Rajasthan -the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur, the holy city of Pushkar (home to the famous camel festival) and the beautiful lakeside city of Udaipur.
Then you’ll take an overnight train to explore buzzing Bombay (Mumbai) before finishing the tour on the blissed out beaches of Goa. Warning – you might never want to leave Goa so its good that this tour gives you plenty of free time there! This is a ‘basix’ trip so it’s perfect for young travellers on a budget and is one of the most popular India backpacking tours. Click here for more details and to book.
8. G Adventures – Rajasthan to Varanasi – Trains and Taj– 20 Days
This tour is the best backpacker tour for North India. It’s a ‘yolo’ trip so it’s fun, adventurous and affordable and it includes all of the highlights of North India. Some tours skip the less well known places but this one really has all the highlights of Rajasthan, the most colourful, captivating state in India.
The tour visits Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Pushkar, Udaipur and Bikaner as well as a chance to experience rural village life. You’ll also see the essential cities of Delhi, Agra for the Taj Mahal and the holy city of Varanasi.
This is one of G Adventures most popular backpacking tours of India which is not surprising as the itinerary really has all the must visit places in North India. Click here for more details and to book.
9. Geckos Adventures – Big India – 23 Days
This tour by Geckos is great for backpackers in India. Starting in Delhi you’ll visit all the essential sights of North India including spiritual Varanasi, Agra for the Taj Mahal and Jaipur. You’ll also visit charming, off beat Bundi in Rajasthan before returning to Delhi to take a flight all the way South to Kerala. Next you’ll explore the beaches, jungles and cruise the backwaters of Kerala before visiting the flamboyant palace at Mysore, the magical ruins of Hampi and ending up in Goa.
Once you’re chilling out and partying on the beaches of Goa you might never want to leave so it’s perfect that this trip ends in Goa so you’ll have plenty of time to spend here. This is another of my favourite India group tours as it offers some great highlights of North and South India for a great price. Click here for more details and to book
10. Intrepid – India South and North – 29 Days
This tour takes you to the best of both South and North India. I always recommend starting your India travels in the South and this tour starts in Kochi and takes in the beaches and backwaters and laid back towns of Kerala, flamboyant Mysore and the highlights of Tamil Nadu.
Then fly up to Delhi to see the Golden Triangle and the best of North India and Rajasthan including spotting tigers in Ranthambore National Park and a rural village stay. A great mix of essential must see sights and more laid back, off beat experiences. Click here for more details and to book
The best India group tours – 1 month or longer
India is such a huge country with so many amazing places to visit that it’s better if you have a month or more to explore India so you can really start to see a lot more of this incredible country.
11. Intrepid – Iconic India – 37 Days
This is Intrepid’s most encompassing India group tour, starting from Delhi and visiting all the highlights of Rajasthan and the essential cities of Varanasi where you can witness India’s most spiritual city and Agra where you can witness the world’s most beautiful building – the Taj Mahal. Next fly all the way down to South India and explore tropical laid back Kerala including a homestay on the backwaters and the chance to spot wildlife in Periyar National Park.
You’ll also visit the fabulous technicolor temples in Madurai, flamboyant palaces in Mysore and magical ruins and landscapes in enigmatic Hampi before finishing the tour on the blissed out beaches of Goa, which you might never want to leave. Luckily after this tour you’ll have plenty of time for chilling, partying and shopping in Goa. This is one of the most complete India group tours Click here for more details
12. G Adventures – Indian Odyssey by Rail – 54 Days
This is the big one that I just couldn’t leave out – the most epic of all the India group tours! There is just so much to see in India that it would take many, many trips to see it all. I’ve been here for over 2 years and still not seen everything. If you want to see all in 1 epic trip then this tour covers the best of India both South, North, East and West in 54 mind blowing days traveling by train – the best way to travel in India.
This epic all India group tour starts in Delhi, heads up into the Himalayas through the highlights of Rajasthan to Mumbai (Bombay) Chill out on the beaches of Goa and tropical Kerala and see the more off beat but equally awesome heritage sights underrated Karnataka. You’ll travel to Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of India before hitting up the highlights of Tamil Nadu.
Then visit the city of Hyderabad, the beaches in Puri and the bustling city of Kolkata (Calcutta) before heading into to explore the mountains and monasteries around Darjeeling and Sikkim, not forgetting to experience the holy city of Varanasi before ending the trip of a lifetime back in Delhi. There’s so much in this amazing India group tours I could go on forever so click here for all the details.
Want to try something different?
Visit india and nepal.
If you want to visit both India and Nepal on the same trip it’s easy by taking the G Adventures Delhi to Kathmandu Adventure – 15 Days. This is the best itinerary I’ve found as it visits not only India’s most famous sights; the Golden Triangle; Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and holy Varanasi but also some more off beat gems like Orchha along the way.
After crossing the border into Nepal you’ll visit Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha, stay in a homestay in Chitwan National Park, marvel at the views of the lake and Himalayas in Pokhara before ending in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. See more details here. Intrepid also offer a 19 day tour of the Highlights of India and Nepal.
Culinary tours of India
India is known for it’s spicy curries but real, authentic Indian food is totally different and has so much to offer than what you would find in an Indian takeaway back home. Eat your way to the heart of the nation and get a different insight into Indian culture and everyday life on a food or culinary tour of India.
Explore vibrant local markets, sample street food safely, enjoy home cooked meals and learn how to make delicious, authentic Indian food yourself. Intrepid offer some amazing food adventures in India, like this 15 day Real Food Adventure that takes you through the tastes and sights of Delhi, Rajasthan, Mumbai and Goa. You could also try a quick 3 day Bite Sized Food tours in Delhi.
Mumbai City and Slum Tours
Reality Tours and Travel are a responsible tour company who provide authentic, fun and off beat day tours that allow you to see the real Mumbai and give some of the profits back to the communities. I went on the tour of Dharavi slum on my first day in India and it was an eye opening and inspiring experience. Click to read more about how visiting Dharavi slum changed my perspectives on poverty. They also offer bicycle tours, night tours, market and temple tours and village tours.
Cruise along the holy river Ganges
Escape the chaos of the cities and witness a more authentic and laid back way of life cruising along the holy river Ganges on a 12 day trip from Kolkata to Varanasi with G Adventures Cruise the Ganges, you’ll experience off beat villages untouched by tourism, historic and cultural sights and also visit Bodhgaya where the Buddha gained enlightenment.
Cycling tours of India
Slow down, get off the tourist trail and really experience a whole new side to India on a cycling tour. I would only recommend doing a cycling tour in Winter (Dec – Feb) as the heat might be too much otherwise. Exodus Travels offer great cycling tours in India including Kerala, Rajasthan and the epic Manali to Leh trip. See here for more details. Intrepid also do a cycling tour of Rajasthan.
Get off the beaten track in unexplored North East India
Not many travellers make it to the stunning, tribal areas of North East India but I’ve been twice now and really love this very authentic, very different and really unexplored region. Traveling in North East India can be difficult to do independently because of permit requirements and a lack of public transport and hotels so it’s really best to take a tour of North East India.
I’ve travelled twice with Sange from Holiday Scout – an awesome local tour operator that knows this fascinating region in depth. See my review of traveling with Holiday Scout and more on my adventures in North East India here.
If you don’t want to take a group tour but don’t want to travel India completely alone
If you prefer to create your own bespoke itinerary for your India tour and prefer not to travel as a group tour then check out tour companies like Explore who offer tailor made India tours and holidays which allow you to create your perfect private tour of India.
If you want to travel India independently but want some help planning your trip, creating your perfect itinerary and booking the right trains and hotels then I recommend India Someday. I recently used them for trip across North India and they arranged and booked all my transport and accommodation which saved me a lot of hassle and allowed me to concentrate on just enjoying the trip.
India Someday are perfect if you want to travel India independently but want a little assistance with the planning process to make sure everything is booked and runs smoothly leaving you to just enjoy your trip! You can read more about my experience with India Someday in my review here and they will also give solo travellers 20% off and Global Gallivanting readers also get 5% off the trip planning fee (just quote GLOBALGALLIVANTING5 when enquiring)

“ In Ladakh, find the perfect blend of culture, adventure, and serenity. December last year I decided that my next trip would be Ladakh but didn’t know how to go about it. I knew I wanted to travel in a group, as I had prior experiences of traveling in a group but wanted an organiser I could trust. Ladakh isn’t like other destinations wherein you need some instructions due to the high altitudes.

“ After an amazing trip to Tirthan with WanderOn, I decided to go to Manali-Jispa with them and yet again, the experience was worth every penny. The place was very beautiful and the quality of service was top-notch, the itinerary was very good and the quality of transportation and stays were very good. Had an awesome time there and made some good friends as well. Lastly, our trip captains Priyasha and Rachit managed the entire trip very well and were so fun and made our trip an experience worth remembering.

India's Bestseller - 5 Day Golden Triangle - Delhi, Agra & Jaipur (Guaranteed Departure)
I was a little anxious about this tour as I was a solo female traveler and had read some reviews of not so great experiences. I want to say I had the best time and everything was fantastic! In Delhi I had Alvina as a tour guide and she was knowledgeable and helpful. In Agra I had Ahmit as a tour guide and I have to say he really knew the history as well, especially about the Taj Mahal which was an amazing experience. The last tour guide I had in Jaipur was Bhawani, he was super friendly and knowledgeable as well. The fees to the monuments are not included but it does say that when you book it. I already knew I would have to tip each guide and the driver as it is the culture here to do that but they were all appreciative about it and it was well deserving. I saw some reviews about being taken to the different shops but once again you don't have to buy anything and if you want to skip them you can ask your guide and there is no issues. Hotels were great especially the last one in Jaipur, it was a homestay with great hospitality. Last but not least thankyou to my driver Arvind! He made everything so smooth and comfortable. I can't express how much he made the trip so much better with his kindness and knowledge. Thankyou so much Arvind!
Taj Mahal, Tiger and Pink City
Well organised, the operator was very responsive to all emails and questions we had. The tour was well set out with knowledgeable guides and a great driver.
Indian Getaway
Overall, we enjoyed our tour of India. The culture there is so different than any other place we have travelled, leaving even seasoned travelers a bit shell shocked. Highlights were the Taj, never expected to be so impressed with it as we have seen a lot of architectural wonders in our travels, and the night spent in the village of Tordi Garh. Downside, some of the hotels were not too clean, especially in Varanasi. That hotel was foul. We did book a basic trip, and were expecting some rougher travel, but not that bad. Also, the night trains were a bit of a trial. It would have been nice to be able to upgrade to better berths. And finally, out of 7 people, 5 got sick. That includes our guide!
Delhi Taj Mahal And Jaipur Pink City 3 Days
I have only given an average review overall because I felt that the tour could have been more effectively organised. There seemed to be a lack of communication overall from the tour company towards its guides and driver. For example, after completing my final payment and editing my personal details on the site, I was supposed to receive my trip vouchers. None came. With my departure date looming I had to contact the company to ask them what time the tour would start and if they wanted my pick up details. On the first day, the tour was supposed to start at 8:30 but the guide and driver were nearly 20 minutes late coming to pick me up. However, the guide was very informative on our visit to the Qutub Minar. That was the only site that I was able to get close to during my tour of Delhi, all the other sites: the India Gate, Presidential Palace etc were 'drive bys' where the driver slowed down so that I could take a picture. We did visit the Lotus Temple, but only for a photo op and we did not go inside the building. Just before lunch I was taken to one of their 'shops' where I was given the hard sell to buy carpets. After that, I was offered to be taken to lunch ( at my own expense ) because the tour was over. I was given the option of eating in Delhi or waiting to Agra ( I was told it would be a 3 to 3 and 1/2 drive ). I opted for Agra because I was still full from breakfast. My guide assured me that I would be met at the hotel upon arrival by my Agra guide and he would take me out for a late lunch/early dinner and show me around Agra. However, upon arrival at the hotel their was no guide and no guide turned up. Prior to that, the driver, who spoke limited English, was asking the hotel staff, in HIndi, what time I wanted to see the Taj Mahal the next morning. It was advertised as a sunrise tour, so the hotel staff advised me I should be ready to leave the hotel by 5:30 am. The driver then told them that the guide would arrive later to confirm with me the time. I waited two hours at the hotel( by this time I was starving and had to order room service ) and the guide did not show up. Whilst the hotel was very nice, it was in an isolated location, 5 km from the city centre and as a lone female did not feel safe venturing out on my own. I was stuck in the hotel for the evening. The next morning, I was ready by 5:30 am but no guide appeared until past 6 am. When I mentioned that I had been waiting the previous night for him he said he would have come if he had known, but no one told him. Who to believe? The Agra guide was great and provided lots of information both at the Taj Mahal and Agra fort but once again I was taken to one of their shops for a hard sell. That afternoon, I made the drive to Jaipur, where the hotel was more central. The guide arrived before the scheduled time ( yay) and we toured many sites in Jaipur. I would say that this was the best day of the tour. Please note, I was again taken to one of their shops for the hard sell-this time for jewelry. Ideally, one needs more than a day in Jaipur ( I effectively had about half a day) to see the sites and go shopping. After touring sites, I was given the option of walking around the market with the guide to shop; or to have lunch or to begin the 4 hour drive to Delhi. I opted to leave for Delhi. I enjoyed my time in the Golden Triangle, but would really recommend a longer tour. Also, if booking with this tour operator you may have to be on top of them to request documents and make sure pick up times go more smoothly. I would like to point out that my driver was excellent.
India's Golden Triangle
Awesome tour! Sab was great, very knowledgeable, best tour guide ever!
Golden Triangle Tour With Ranthambore
A very reasonably priced tour for what you get. World travel experience proved to be an excellent tour company, constantly keeping you updated and making sure everything is going okay. Our driver Rakesh was excellent and was happy to pull over if we saw anything of interest. The Taj Mahal is probably the most beautiful building I've ever seen. Jaipur, the pink city was fascinating and the colours and smells of Delhi is electrifying. And to top it of, we managed to see a tiger in ranthambore! Hotels are standard, but an overall excellent trip
- 10% deposit on some dates Some departure dates offer you the chance to book this tour with a lower deposit.
Colorful India with Taj Mahal & Rajasthan
It was not an expensive tour and some aspects will reflect that. The hotels aren't 4/5 star but they are clean I'd in a bit of disrepair in some situations. My driver Lakhan Singh made me feel safe and cared for which was very important as a solo traveller and I'd recommend him to other solo women. If I wanted roadside chai he'd ask me to stay in the car and he'd bring me the chai so I didn't have to deal with stares or rude questions, and when my tour ran a bit late he checked in repeatedly to make sure everything was ok. The tour guides are a range of skill and experience but they'll be different for every city. My favorites were Nipendra in Udaipur and Bhawani in Jaipur. They customized the tour on the fly for me when I expressed that I wanted different experiences. If I were to do it again the only change I'd make is the length. A day extra in Delhi and Jaipur would have been ideal for me, and while I'm sure the company would have made those adjustments for me, it was my first trip to India and I wasn't expecting to be overwhelmed by the beautiful sights.
Golden Triangle Tour with Varanasi
In tourradar there were more options of tour to choose from. I am glad that I choose the golden triangle with Varanasi because it covered most of the north India that I wanted to visit. World Travel Experiences is the tour company that took care of us very well. They were very prompt to answer any questions and concerns. They took care of us since the beginning until the very end. The drivers were very polite and respectful, and they know how to navigate the heavily traffic roads. The tour guides were speaking very good English, knowledgeable and resourceful. Almost all of the tour guides went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and covered the Itinerary. Most of the hotel rooms were above the standard. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet and over night train ride. It is advisable to keep 500, 100, 50, 20 and 10 rupees for tipping. Overall it was a great memorable vacation. Thank you tourradar and World Travel Experience.

Reviews of Small Group tours to India
We have had an enjoyable tour in India which was well organised and coordinated by Taj Tour Group. A special thank you to Aahil for providing us with a great service . Transport was in a well kept private car and the driver was a joy to deal with. Accommmodation was satisfactory and was in line with our expectations in 4 star plus hotels. Highly recommended for anyone who may want to undertake a similar tour.

What GAFFL Users Are Saying
"It’s really nice to have a platform like GAFFL with lots of travelers wanting to do the same as you, a real beautiful cultural exchange. You can meet people so easily and in a trustful way. We were four girls, from French, German and American backgrounds, without knowing each other from before. We spent an amazing week together, 2000km driving, camping on the way. We saw kangaroos, koalas, penguins and pelicans"
“I have found GAFFL to be an amazing tool for finding similar minded travel partners to embark on an adventure. Through GAFFL, I had organized a trip to Mexico City last month and Quazi joined the trip from Victoria, BC. We spent 14 days of straight exploring, hiking, eating and drinking. Quite an amazing experience - all thanks to GAFFL!”
"I accidentally scrolled across GAFFL and I'm so pleased I did. I met Amaia and immediately decided to road-trip together. We're spending 10 days together and it's great because we have so much in common. Couldn't have done it without GAFFL helping us find one another! It has honestly made NZ so much cheaper to explore as I get to split the costs with someone too"
Were you looking forward to a trip with your friends, only to find out that they had backed out last minute? Wondering how to find a travel companion online? Even if your family and friends' schedules don't match yours, your vacation doesn't have to be ruined because of it. GAFFL can help you to find the perfect travel companion for your next adventure.

Every user on GAFFL has a profile where they list their interests. If you and your potential trip mate share some common interests, it’ll make your trip go a lot smoother.
It's also important to have a similar budget in mind. If your travel companion wants to do more activities and eat at expensive restaurants but you can’t afford it, it can lead to an unpleasant trip for the both of you.
When browsing trips on GAFFL, make sure to read through the trip details to learn more about the trip and determine if the activities are something you want to do and can afford.
If you like a trip on GAFFL, simply click 'Connect,' and you'll be able to chat with your travel buddy right away. If you have your own travel plans, you can start your own trip and others can request to connect with you!
Finding the right travel companion online can be difficult for solo travelers. GAFFL, on the other hand, makes it very simple. Our multi-step verification process includes social media, phone number, and a valid government ID, so you can be confident in your potential travel companion. With adventurers from over 190 countries, you can connect, chat, and find the perfect travel buddy to meet up with on GAFFL.
We truly believe that the best memories and experiences are the ones that are shared with others. It doesn’t matter if you’ve known someone for an hour or your whole life, when you do something badass together it’s sure to be a time you won’t forget.
Making connections and becoming friends with people all over the world is such a powerful tool to have when traveling. One day maybe you’ll visit your new friend in their homeland. Some of the best trips happen when you have a friend playing tour guide in their country.
GAFFL is a really cool opportunity to enrich your travels with like-minded people who will push you to get out of your comfort zone. No matter what type of personality you have, making new friends on the road is easier than ever.
Solo travel is great. But there are some times that I do not recommend someone travel solo and where I personally try my hardest not to travel solo. Some examples of this relate to safety, like hiking a trail that doesn’t have many people walking it each day, or being in certain destinations where I’ve heard from others that it’s difficult as a solo female.
Other examples relate to expenses, like taking a road trip and renting a car. Situations like these are where I think something like GAFFL is a great idea. With GAFFL, you can find a group to go on that hike with or split that car rental with!
I think this is a fabulous idea because the things that can get expensive while solo traveling can usually also be easily split between people. If you aren’t a hostel fan, it would be awesome to have people to split hotels and Airbnb with.
If car rental is the cheapest way to get around a destination, it would be ideal to have others to split the costs with. But most importantly it always makes the experience that much more memorable when you have new friends to share it with.
I think GAFFL plays a role by allowing solo travelers to find travel buddies when needed. Though solo travel is a great way to travel, there are some experiences that are better enjoyed with more people (some don’t even allow for solo).
Friends and families are not always available to travel with, and sometimes the interests do not align for travel. Or sometimes you just want to socialize while still being solo most of the time. I think GAFFL helps solve these problems.
One of the things that hold people back is that they don’t have a partner or a best friend to travel with and they feel scared and uncertain to travel alone, especially long-term. GAFFL helps with that!
Another thing that holds people back is the perceived cost of travel. While travel doesn’t have to be expensive, it’s always more affordable when you can share the cost of accommodation and groceries with someone else. Again, GAFFL provides a solution for that!

Spanish tourist camping with her husband is gang raped in India; 3 arrested as police search for more suspects
Updated on: March 4, 2024 / 8:47 AM EST / CBS/AFP
Three Indian men have appeared in court after the gang rape of a Spanish tourist on a motorbike trip with her husband, with police hunting four other suspects, reports said Monday.
The attack took place on Friday night in eastern India in Jharkhand state's Dumka district, where the couple were camping.
A total of seven men are accused of carrying out the brutal assault.
"We have formed a team to hunt the remaining suspects," senior local police officer Pitamber Singh Kherwar told AFP.
On Sunday, three accused were seen being escorted into court with sacks on their heads by police officers holding ropes tied around their waists. The three were later remanded in custody.
The Spanish woman and her husband were also in court.
The couple told Spanish TV channel Antena 3 on Saturday that the men raped the woman and hit the man repeatedly, the Reuters news agency reported. They said they had camped out because they could not find hotels nearby, Reuters reported.
"We have to ensure strict punishment," Kherwar said, the Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency reported Monday.
Kherwar said a special team including forensic officers had been formed to scour the scene of the attack, while another team was hunting more suspects.
"They are constantly raiding places," Kherwar said in PTI's report. "We will soon arrest the remaining accused."
An average of nearly 90 rapes a day were reported in India in 2022, according to data from the National Crime Records Bureau.
That year, police arrested 11 people after the alleged brutal gang rape and torture of a young woman that included her being paraded through the streets of Dehli. Also in 2022, a police officer in India was arrested after being accused of raping a 13-year-old girl who went to his station to report she had been gang-raped.
In 2021, a 34-year-old woman in Mumbai died after being raped and brutally tortured .
Large numbers of rapes go unreported due to prevailing stigmas around victims and a lack of faith in police investigations.
Convictions remain rare, with cases getting stuck for years in India's clogged-up criminal justice system.
The notorious gang rape and murder of an Indian student made global headlines in 2012 .
Jyoti Singh, a 23-year-old physiotherapy student, was raped, assaulted and left for dead by five men and a teenager on a bus in New Delhi in December that year.
The horrific crime shone an international spotlight on India's high levels of sexual violence and sparked weeks of protests, and eventually a change in the law to introduce the death penalty for rape .

Four arrested after Spanish blogger on India motorcycle tour gangraped
The couple had set up a tent to pass the night in Jharkhand state’s Dumka as seven men attacked them.
Indian authorities have arrested four people suspected of being part of a group that gangraped a Spanish tourist and assaulted her partner.
The woman – whose identity was not revealed by the authorities – is a travel blogger with more than 200,000 followers on Instagram.

She was travelling with her partner in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand when the attack happened on Friday night.
The couple had stopped their motorbikes and set up a tent to pass the night in the state’s Dumka district before a group of seven men attacked them.
All the members of the group have been identified and the remaining suspects will be arrested “soon”, Jharkhand police chief Ajay Kumar Singh told The Indian Express newspaper.
“They had beaten us and robbed us, although not many things [were taken] because what they wanted was to rape me,” the 28-year-old woman said in an Instagram post.
In another post, her male partner said he was hit several times in the head with a helmet and that his “mouth is destroyed”.
A patrol car rescued the duo late on Friday night after the assault and escorted them to a local hospital.
The couple were touring South Asia and had concluded a trip to Sri Lanka before the Indian leg of their journey.
Sexual violence targeting women is common in India, with women from minority tribal communities being particularly at risk. Taboos around speaking up about the crime and low conviction rates of suspects add to the problem.
An average of nearly 90 rapes were reported in India every day, meaning one woman was raped every 18 minutes, in 2022, according to the National Crime Records Bureau, which recorded 31,516 rape cases that year.
Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh states recorded the highest number of cases.
