Winnebago Class C Motorhomes

Winnebago’s Class C motorhomes are built on either a van or truck chassis and evenly split the difference between the larger Class A coaches and the smaller, more nimble camper vans. All Winnie Class Cs include a powered awning and a sleeping space in the cabover area. 

The EKKO doesn’t like to fit into predetermined categories. In fact, it doesn’t look much like any Winnebago RV model you’ve ever seen. Almost a perfect blend between a camper van and a Class C—it also includes all-wheel drive so you can really get out there and adventure.

SuperStructure®

The SuperStructure® is a steel construction that surrounds the cab of their Class A coaches, offering strength for a smoother ride. This integrates the walls, roof, and floor into one unit, which should increase the structural support. The SuperStructure is made from both aluminum and steel to provide additional structural support where needed and to offer a lightweight material to increase fuel efficiency. In addition, thermo-panel walls are sturdy, lightweight, and insulated.

SuperShell™ Sleeper Deck

The SuperShell is a composite hull that’s found in the over-cab area of Winnebago’s Class C RVs. It features injected foam insulation to provide plenty of insulated comfort for sleeping—as well as protection from outdoor noise. Winnebago Control Panel with Smart Device App

This control panel allows you to perform a variety of tasks, like check tank levels, operate awnings, and in some cases start the generator. Smart device integration allows you to also control everything from your tablet or smartphone and monitor RV data such as your battery levels,, tank levels, temperature settings, and more. Some systems may allow you to integrate RV security so you can monitor cameras, lock doors, and more.

Winnebago’s Manufacturing History

Founded in 1958 in Forest City, Iowa, the original idea behind Winnebago was to manufacture travel trailers in order to boost the small community’s economy. As they grew and evolved, Winnebago began to design and build the furniture that would go inside their RVs, making certain that it was built for the rigors of regular travel—as well as cementing the future of an industry built for RVing. 

The company continued to grow and, in 1966, introduced its first motorhome. In order to bolster sales, they offered their camper to the market at a steep discount compared to competitors, which made them an instant hit. So much so that the term “Winnebago” was commonly used when referring to RVs in general, whether built by the company or not.
