Questions? We have answers

Tivua Island Day Cruise FAQS

Where are the Mamanuca Islands?

Situated on the island of Viti Levu, Nadi International Airport is the main gateway to Fiji for the majority of visitors and the Mamanuca Islands are just off the west coast of Viti Levu, within clear sight of the mainland. This close proximity makes them easily accessible by small boat, ferry or chartered seaplane or helicopter. As well as being the closest island group to Nadi, the Mamanuca Islands are also arguably the most beautiful, with their palm fringed white sand beaches and crystal clear waters making them the logical choice of location for some of Fiji’s most popular resorts.

What is included in the menu?

The fresh, tropical buffet dinner on our Fiji Sunset Dinner Cruise is prepared on-board by a team of local chefs using fresh local ingredients to be enjoyed buffet-style in Fiji One’s air-conditioned dining room in front of a stunning sunset backdrop. The menu will typically consist of a choice of chicken, steak and fish of the day, accompanied by salads and fresh vegetables and followed by a delicious tropical dessert. Or for an additional cost, you can upgrade your culinary experience to a whole lobster (pre-bookings required). Our chefs can also cater for most special diets and food allergies, as long as they receive enough notice.

How many passengers are on board the dinner cruise and is it suitable for kids?

Fiji One is one of the largest sailing catamarans in the Southern Hemisphere and has a maximum capacity of 220 passengers, although, on our dinner cruises, around 100 guests seated at tables is a more typical number as each group has their own table. It is fully air-conditioned and boasts an upper deck,  main deck dining saloon and spacious foredeck with outdoor seating and viewing area. Along with our Tivua Island Day cruise, the dinner cruise is suitable for children, although no kids activities are provided due to its more relaxed, laid back nature. While onboard, children must be under the supervision of an adult at all times.

What is included in a dinner cruise?

Our Fiji Sunset Dinner Cruise includes a complimentary welcome drink when you board our luxury catamaran, Fiji One. Also included in the price is a delicious tropical buffet dinner prepared from fresh local ingredients by our team of local chefs and Fijian cultural entertainment, including the wonderful singing and dancing that Fijians are famous for. Our dinner cruise also includes complimentary transfers from your Nadi or Denarau hotel plus the ultimate inclusion, some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world. For an additional cost, you can also upgrade your dinner experience to include a lobster main course, although you will need to pre-book ahead of time.

What are the key differences between a day cruise and a dinner cruise?

The difference between our Fiji Sunset Dinner Cruise and our Tivua Island Day Cruise is that our dinner cruise is all about relaxation, great food and stunning views, while our day cruise is about fun water based activities such as snorkelling, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking and glass bottom boat tours. While both cruises include a sumptuous buffet meal and plenty of our famous Fijian hospitality, our day cruise is particularly family-friendly, with a Captain’s Kids Club on Tivua Island. The main thing they both have in common though is that whichever cruise you choose, a wonderful time is guaranteed.

What time and duration is the Sunset Dinner Cruise?

The Sunset Dinner cruise departs at 5.30pm for 3 hours. May to September the departure is 5pm due to an earlier sunset.

Seafood buffet lunch cruise

Fabulous lunchtime cruise around Sydney Harbour with a seafood buffet lunch. Both of our teenagers don't eat seafood but were well catered for with fresh salads, stirfry dishes and vegetarian curries. The fresh prawns, oysters, crabs and salmon were plentiful. Great value for money. We ended up with a fabulous window seat without paying the extra. Staff were courteous and extremely friendly- Special thanks to Mark who went out of his way to engage with our teenagers and us.

Dear Melinda S, Thank you for your review of your buffet lunch with us on Sydney Harbour. We were delighted to read that you found the cruise value for money, that you found the variety of food plentiful and the staff extremely friendly. We agree that this cruise is great value for money. Once again thank you for your review, it is appreciated. Kind Regards, Head of Customer Service Captain Cook Cruises

We went out to bondi watching the start of the Sydney to Hobart race. Great experience, good crew, knowledgeable captain. Would definitely recommend them.

Dear BarlowO, Thank you for your review of your Boxing Day cruise with us on Sydney Harbour. We were delighted to read that you found the crew good, captain knowledgeable and enjoyed the overall experience. We agree that this is a great way to see the race. Once again thank you for your review, it is appreciated. Kind Regards, Head of Customer Service Captain Cook Cruises

After a tip from a fellow traveller I booked an dinner cruise for NYE 2016-2017. Very very last-minute so I was incredibly lucky to find a spot on a boat at all... Went with Captain Cook who had several boats, I was on the Captain Cook III. Not a very large boat, which ultimately made it even better because we had more then enough room on the upper deck. (I saw some of the other boats packed from top to bottom...) The seafood dinner buffet was alright, but must say, I expected a little more considering the price. But that was the only thing, the rest was great! Great view of the fireworks, part of the Light Parade, the dj played some great music and a great group of people. Had an amazing time, one NYE I will never forget!

Dear EtW_travelsandpics, Thank you for your review of your New Years Even booking with us on Captain Cook 3. We were delighted to read that you found the vessel spacious, were able to find a spot at the last minute and also enjoyed the music. Thank you for your feedback on the buffet, we will pass this onto our hospitality department to review for upcoming events. We agree that being on a cruise provides the best views of the fireworks on this once in a lifetime experience. Once again thank you for your review, it is appreciated. Kind Regards, Head of Customer Service Captain Cook Cruises

Fantastic cruise with amazing views of the harbours sights. Our guide was friendly, very knowledgeable and polite. Well worth the money

Dear Jade C, Thank you for your feedback on your cruise with us on Sydney Harboour. We were delighted to read that you found the commentator both friendly and knowledgeable and that you enjoyed the views from the harbour. We agree that our cruises provide fantastic value for money. Once again thank you for your feedback, it is appreciated. Kind Regards, Head of Customer Service Captain Cook Cruises

This was for the views not for the food. Got many great pictures of Sydney, the Opera House, and the Harbor Bridge.

Dear Jubutld, Thank you for your review of your cruise with us on Sydney Harbour. We were disappointed to read your comments about the food as we often receive good feedback on this aspect. We agree that the photo opportunities from our cruises are stunning. Once again thank you for your feedback, it is appreciated. Kind Regards, Head of Customer Service Captain Cook Cruises

Our experience was on the MV Sydney 2000 the largest ship they have in Sydney. Apart from the usual crowd to get on board the night was fantastic. I booked early and had a window table and it was worth the extra. The waitress looking after us for the evening was happy and enthusiastic and made the night pleasant when seated. Drinks started as soon as we were seated and the menu explained and main meal orders taken. Initially the ship was positioned between the Opera house and the bridge to watch the early fireworks. When they had finished the ship joined to procession of vessels under the bridge into and around the other bay returning to the same position prior to the main fireworks. Of course these we fantastic as most people went to the top deck for a full clear view from the bridge to the Opera house and all the Quay. After the fireworks we docked around 1am and the crowds had mostly dispersed so it was easy to walk back to our hotel. Okay, not a cheap night but worth the cost and experience, will do it again but not this year.

Dear Colint50, Thank you for your review of your NYE cruise with us on the MV Sydney 2000. WE were delighted to read that you found the service excellent, enjoyed the position of the vessel throughout the evening and found the overall cruise wonderful. We agree that this cruise provides a unique experience. Once again thank you for your review, it is appreciated. Kind Regards, Head of Customer Service Captain Cook Cruises

Captain Cook Dinner Cruise to Kealakekua Bay

Activity times, what's included, description.

Everything has been designed with you in mind, from the initial complimentary cocktail to the delicious buffet-style Hawaiian dinner at Kealakekua Bay with the amazing sunset as a backdrop. Adding to the charm of this tropical experience is live entertainment, making your cruise even more special. This is an excursion that is great for couples, families, and groups vacationing in Hawaii.

The Kona side of the Big Island is one of the most popular areas in Hawaii, due to its breathtaking landscapes and brilliant waters. Along the way, you catch some stunning views of some of the most fertile coffee plantations in the world. Resorts and other prime pieces of real estate share the coast and showcase the history and beauty of Hawaii. Throughout the cruise, your guide shares lots of details about Big Island traditions and culture, as well as stories of the Polynesian voyagers who first sailed to this remote island chain.

Nearly ten million visitors came to the state in 2018, seeking to immerse themselves in the beauty and culture that makes this place a unique paradise. Our Captain Cook Dinner Cruise is sure to be one of the highlights of your trip. We know that getting the most out of your time is important, so we’ve planned a cruise that's filled with music, delicious cuisine, and nautical sights that can only be seen on Kealakekua Bay!

The Captain Cook Dinner Cruise to Kealakekua Bay has been voted Best Cruise on the Big Island for a reason! Our attention to even the smallest details is what make this trip so special. Everything works together to help you make beautiful memories of your time with us. You can see this attention to detail in our cruise boat, Kanao II. The 65-ft catamaran has two separate decks, a 15-ft high dive platform, and even a thrilling water slide! The vessel is also wheelchair-friendly with a customized boarding ramp.

This is one of the most popular activities in Kailua-Kona, which is why reserving your spots well in advance is a must. We recommend that you arrive at check-in at least 30 minutes prior to departure time. There is a 48-hour cancellation policy in effect for this cruise experience. Let us take you on a journey you'll never forget!

Here are some of the things you see on the cruise:

  • Holualoa Bay
  • White Sand Beach
  • Keauhou Bay
  • Kealakekua Bay
  • Captain Cook’s Monument

Maintained by the British Navy, Captain Cook’s Monument sits on over five thousand square feet at Kealakekua Bay. Throughout the cruise your guide and history expert share surprising facts about Hawaiian landmarks, attractions, and history.

Unique Hawaiian Landscapes

Along the way to Kealakekua Bay you see lush landscapes that are part of what makes the area unique. Included in these are sacred lands where major archeological finds have been discovered, as well as more recent historic landmarks. Kealakekua Bay is probably best known as the place where Captain James Cook first came ashore in Hawaii and later lost his life in a skirmish with the natives. The monument dedicated to Cook is not accessible by road, so a cruise is a perfect solution for seeing this landmark.

The cruise departs in the mid-afternoon, giving you plenty of opportunity to see the open waters and the stunning coastline. These are terrific places to take lots of photos to commemorate your time in Hawaii.

We’ve thought of all of the amenities you would expect from a premier dinner cruise. After enjoying your welcome cocktail, feel free to sit back, relax, and enjoy the lush, tropical surroundings. Sample our selection of refreshing beverages, such as local craft beers and tasty tropical drinks.

Beautiful cocktail at sea in Hawaii

A Rich Hawaiian History

This rich recounting of the history of the area is sure to make you feel immersed in the culture of our beautiful state. In addition to Captain Cook’s Monument, guests can also capture shots of awe-inspiring lava tubes, royal burial caverns in the sheer sea cliffs, and much more during the cruise.

Know before you book:

  • Passengers should bring all necessary supplies, such as medication or baby formula, that will be required during the three-hour trip. You're going to be seeing some stunning views on your cruise, so be prepared to capture loads of great shots. Make sure your camera is charged up, and consider bringing a spare memory card!
  • Here are a few basic things to bring with you:
  • Any necessary medication
  • A wide-brimmed hat or sun visor
  • Book today, and get ready to enjoy an amazing Hawaii dinner cruise experience!

When booking your dinner cruise, you can choose a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday sailing to fit your schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you depart from?

We are located on the Big Island of Hawaii and depart from the Kailua Pier in the heart of Kailua Kona on the west side approximately six miles south from Keahole Kona Airport.

Can you accommodate Wheelchairs?

Yes, Body Glove Cruises is wheelchair friendly, our customized boarding ramp, with portable extensions accommodates all wheelchairs including manual, electric and scooters. The lower deck of the 65′ catamaran is fully accessible from bow to stern including tables and restrooms. We also limited handicapped parking on the Kailua Pier where we depart for our ocean adventures. To obtain pier parking access please travel with your handicapped parking placard and when making your reservation let our team know your parking needs. Passes are limited and issued on a first come and first serve basis.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a 48 hour cancellation policy on all of our cruises. That means you can cancel your reservation without penalty up to 48 hours before your reservation date. Once inside the 48 hours prior to your tour, if you choose to cancel your reservation, you will still be responsible for payment in full.

Will I get sea sick?

The bigger the boat, the more stable it is. Our vessel is 65′ in length with a 30′ beam and the largest boat of its kind on the Kona Coast. It’s a totally different experience than being on a smaller boat or a raft. If you know you are prone to sea sickness, we recommend you take Bonine or Dramamine the night before and one several hours before your cruise. Please read directions to see that you are able to take this medication. We carry this on board however, it is best to have it in your system prior to boarding. You are more likely to feel better on the lower deck of the vessel as there is less pitch. We also offer complimentary Ginger pills and a Ginger drink which is great for motion sickness and it’s all natural.

Where will I find free parking?

You are welcome to park for free at our office located in the Illima Court Shopping Center at 75-5629 Kuakini Hwy., Kailua Kona, HI 96740 about one block away from the Kailua Pier. You may park at the Hotel King Kamehameha which is closer however, they charge by the hour. If you require handicapped parking there are two stalls located in the cul-de-sac in front of the Kailua Pier but come early as they are used frequently. We also have access to pier parking however, it is by reservation only and you must have a handicapped placard to obtain it. Please ask one of our team members for more details when you are making your reservation for your ocean adventure.

Do you provide hotel pick-ups?

We do not provide hotel pick-ups. Our vessel departs from down-town Kailua Kona, at the north end of Alii Drive, from the Kailua Pier. Taxis, Uber and Lyft are options for transportation if you’re staying outside of walking distance.

On this mesmerising and romantic  Moscow  to St Petersburg river cruise, you’ll take in the sights, sounds and history of Russia’s heartland from the comfort of a stunning 5-star modern cruise vessel. After three days of touring the must-see sights of Moscow, we’ll sail through the Moscow Canal which connects the city to the majestic Volga River, the longest river in Europe. Heading north, you’ll experience the contrast between life in a heaving megacity and the languid pace of the gorgeous Russian countryside. Traversing the Volga with port calls in the timeless townships of Russia’s ancient  Golden Ring , our Russian river cruise finishes in the glittering far northern metropolis of St Petersburg, one of the world’s most beautiful cities.

Moscow to St Petersburg Volga river cruise highlights:

  • Highlights of Moscow: Enjoy guided excursions to the most lauded landmarks of the Russian capital. Walk the Red Square, enter the halls of the imposing Kremlin and marvel at the works of the Russian masters at the Tretyakov Gallery
  • Uglich: One of the most magnificent towns to behold from the Volga, with its brightly painted Kremlin standing proudly along the waters' edge, Uglich is home to the Church of St Dmitry, where the last heir of Ivan the Terrible met his mysterious demise
  • Yaroslavl is one of the oldest and most celebrated cities of Russia’s Golden Ring. Admire the incredible artistry of the Spassky Monastery and take part in a costumed reception at the Governer’s House.
  • Goritsy: Be transported to medieval Russia as you stroll the streets of this picturesque town. Once an important spiritual centre, with the largest accumulation of monasteries in Russia, it retains a tranquil atmosphere to this day
  • On Kizhi Island, in the middle of Lake Onega, stands one of Russia’s most amazing collections of wooden architecture including the Transfiguration Church, built in 1714 without the use of a single nail
  • Highlights of St Petersburg: Spend 3 days seeing the best of the city, including Peter and Paul Fortress, the State Hermitage Museum, Peterhof, and Tsarskoye Selo, the lavish palace of Catherine the Great

Russia’s most significant settlements share one essential geographic detail – their connection to the Volga River, the largest river in Europe and a cultural, agricultural and industrial lifeline for the country's largest population centres. So what better way to take in Russia’s beautiful natural sights, spectacular urban architecture and picturesque historical townships than on a cruise along the mighty Volga herself. From the grand capitals to the idyllic countryside and the fairytale medieval villages in between, this is a river cruise like no other, offering variety and splendour on a scale that exists simply nowhere else.

Your luxury vessel on this eye-opening journey is the MV Volga Dream, a renovated boutique cruise ship with classic décor and distinctive Russian touches. Accommodating just 100 passengers in 50 staterooms, the Volga Dream is the perfect choice for travellers seeking an intimate experience and personalised service.

Soak up the panoramic views from the elegant lounge or the spectacular sundeck, and enjoy a mix of fine Russian and international fare, buffet breakfasts and four-course dinners in the restaurant. Life onboard is as laidback or action-packed as you prefer. Between trips ashore, enjoy a diverse range of activities including Russian language lessons, cooking demonstrations, matryoshka painting classes, documentary films, educational talks from our passionate guest speakers, live musical entertainment and a traditional costumed Russian dinner with vodka tasting.

Day 2 Moscow

Gold Program: Get a picture-perfect introduction to Moscow with an orientation tour of the city.

Afterwards, we are heading to the famous Novodevichi Convent – one of the most beautiful Moscow’s attractions, which was proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The convent provides an example of the highest accomplishments of Russian architecture with rich interiors and an important collection of paintings and artefacts.

The evening is free to enjoy at your leisure or seek out a cultural performance at one of the city’s renowned venues.

Platinum/Imperial Program:  Begin the day with an orientation tour of Moscow. The city boasts unique diversity and variety in terms of building styles: classic, modern, empire and eclecticism amazingly sit alongside more monumental designs, such as Stalin’s towering skyscrapers from the mid-20th century. The architecture of the capital, though seemingly contradictory and contrasting, makes for a dazzling combination in a quite unique city.

Lunch is served in a restaurant on the top floor of one of Moscow’s skyscrapers offering spectacular city views. After lunch, visit the famous Novodevichi Cemetery, where well-known Russian authors, musicians, playwrights, and poets, are buried along with famous actors, political leaders, and scientists.

In the evening we transfer to the awaiting luxurious MS Volga Dream to begin sailing along the Russian waterways. Gather for the Captain's welcome reception and dinner as we begin our cruise.

Platinum/Imperial Program:  The first stop after checking-out of your hotel is a small and cozy former home-estate once owned by one of Russia’s literary greats, Leo Tolstoy. He lived with his wife and thirteen children in this two-storey wooden Moscow house from 1882 to 1901; it is now a carefully preserved memorial. The sightseeing continues after lunch at the State Tretyakov Gallery with its extraordinary collection of Russian art, ranging from Rublev's 12th century icons to 19th century masterpieces. Day 12 St.Petersburg

Gold Program:  This morning, join one of the optional tours or explore St. Petersburg at your own pace.

In the afternoon, we travel to Pushkin town, where Catherine the Great’s Palace is located. It houses the extraordinary Amber Room, its six tons of solid amber deftly carved and framed in gold leaf. Once deemed the “eighth wonder of the world,” the room was stripped by the Nazis in 1941, but majestically reconstructed in honour of St. Petersburg’s 300th birthday.

Platinum/Imperial Program:  Enjoy a full sightseeing day with a visit to the Fabergé Museum, founded by entrepreneur, Viktor Vekselberg. The museum was opened in December 2013 to display a glittering collection of Faberge eggs and objects d’art created by Peter Carl Fabergé and his staff. After lunch, we travel to the Tsar’s Village to visit the famous Catherine’s Palace and the exquisitely recreated Amber Room. A stroll through the formal gardens is highly recommended.
