Tekken World Tour 2022 champion Atif Butt

The Tekken World Tour 2023 Finals is divided into two stages, the Group Stage and the Final Bracket.

The Group Stage features 20 players, with 19 securing their spots through the Tekken World Tour leaderboard and the last contender emerging from the Last Chance Qualifier.

Divided into four groups, each consisting of five players, the Group Stage employs a single round-robin format. Matches are decided in a best-of-three format, with the top two players from each group advancing. Group winners proceed to the winners side of the Final Bracket, while the runner-ups find themselves on the losers side.

The Final Bracket is a double-elimination format, ensuring that players have a second chance to redeem themselves. While most matches are best-of-three, the winners final, losers final, and grand final are best-of-five, adding an extra layer of intensity to the climax of the tournament.

TEKKEN World Tour Returns With $200K Prize Pool

TEKKEN World Tour Returns With $200K Prize Pool

Credit: BANDAI NAMCO

Mentioned in this article Games: Tekken 7

Bandai Namco has announced details for its annual fighting game tournament circuit, the TEKKEN World Tour. This year, the base prize pool has been increased from $185K USD in 2019 to $200K. In 2019, $100K of that total was originally allocated for the finals event, with that total eventually growing to $250K.

As in previous years, portions of the prize pool will be allocated as “pot bonuses” for select tournaments throughout the world that have been approved as part of the circuit, such as Evo.

The 2020 World Tour Finals will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, in December.

TEKKEN has grown steadily over the last few years. Viewership and prize pool growth for last year’s finals allowed it to become the first fighting game to appear on The Esports Observer’s PC Games Impact Index .

Today, TEKKEN game director Katsuhiro Harada announced that TEKKEN 7 has surpassed 5M copies sold, bringing the total for the series as a whole to 49M.

What Is the Tekken World Tour?

The  Tekken World Tour  is the biggest competition of the year, where expert players from all around the globe participate to compete against one another.  Bandai Namco Entertainment , a Japanese multinational video game publisher, organizes the tournament circuit. It started as a points-based, season-long competition in 2017.

The circuit comprises tournaments that award players who secure high ranks at big in-person games. Players who cannot travel participate in online events and seek their rewards. The player who wins this competition emerges as the world champion. The player who plays smartly throughout the year gets a hefty reward from the prize pool. It is similar to all other offline championships, demanding persistence and discipline to become a victor.

How Do Players Get Points?

The circuit has Tekken tournaments, and players get points based on their performance at these tournaments. These points help players climb the leaderboard and become qualifiers eventually. The Tekken World Tour has a different tier of tournaments where the winning players get points.

What Is New in the Tekken World Tour 2023?

This year’s circuit, the Tekken World Tour, began in March 2023 with the most famous event, EVO. The excitement level of the fans is unmatched since Tekken 8 will replace Tekken 7 after the grand finale. The community is eager to bid farewell to the competitive environment of the legendary Tekken 7. The best part of the Tekken 2023 tournament was the comeback of Challenger events and Dojo events. The master events have already concluded, and the leaderboard is set for the finals. This year’s  master events  included:

  • Combo Breaker
  • Fighters Showdown
  • Punishment 2
  • Thaiger Uppercut

EVO  is a significant event in the Tekken World Tour, and the players who win the challenge can conveniently make it to the finals. The points’ weightage is excellent. Most players plan to win this event to secure their position at the top of the leadership hierarchy. However, this time, players got a chance to play Challenger events, too.

Challenger events are one tier down from Master events. Challenger events included:

  • Brussels Challenge
  • Cape Town Showdown
  • First Attack
  • Head Stomper
  • Paradise Game Battle
  • Slash N Dash Emirates Showdown
  • Uprising Korea

Dojo events had fewer points, but it was enough to open the fighting game to new challengers. Now, all these tournaments are concluded, and players who secure their position on the leaderboard will get to the showdown known as the Grand Final.

Tekken 8 sales hit 2 million in first month; tekken world tour kicks off april 13, 2024.

tekken world tour prize pool

It looks like the Tekken franchise’s relevancy hasn’t waned amid stuff competition in the fighting genre, as Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that Tekken 8 sales have now hit two million in its first month, with one million units sold in its first day of release!

This was announced by the company via a press release, where it also mentioned that the Tekken World Tour 2024 will kick off this April 13, 2024.

“The next step in TEKKEN esports, the TEKKEN WORLD TOUR 2024, will start on April 13, 2024. After successful TEKKEN WORLD TOUR events that have accompanied the lifecycle of TEKKEN 7, now players will compete with TEKKEN 8 through TEKKEN WORLD TOUR 2024 events across the world to earn points and progress through the rankings, with the hope of reaching the TEKKEN WORLD TOUR Finals and having a chance to become the best TEKKEN 8 player worldwide.”

Will Tekken 8 Sales Slow Down?

Given how the Tekken franchise has a very loyal fanbase, and with Bandai Namco promising DLC support, which the company proved it can sustain with Tekken 7, we don’t see the game running out of steam anytime soon.

To put things in perspective how impressive this sales figure is, Tekken 7 was released back in 2017, and after six years, and against stellar fighting games like Street Fighter 6 , Mortal Kombat 1 , and newcomer Granblue: Fantasy Versus Rising , the franchise hasn’t lost its luster.

Our review of Tekken 8 speaks highly of the fighter stating, “Though the year may have just started, Tekken 8 will probably compete for fighting game of the year and barring any surprises, should be the runaway winner.”

Im not surprised by this milestone considering how incredible Tekken 8 is, this achievement is well deserved.

2024 Cognizant Classic One and Done picks, sleepers, field, purse: Top PGA Tour predictions, power rankings, expert golf betting advice from DFS pro

Hero Image

The 2024 Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches is set to begin on Thursday, February 29 at Vidanta Vallarta in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The 2024 Cognizant Classic field won't be on the level of a signature event, but will feature plenty of talented golfers including Rory McIlroy, Cameron Young, Min Woo Lee, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Sungjae Im. McIlroy enters as the 6-1 betting favorite in the latest 2024 Cognizant Classic odds. He is followed by Cameron Young (22-1), Russell Henley (25-1) and Matt Fitzpatrick (28-1). The total 2024 Cognizant Classic purse is $9 million with the winner's share listed at $1.62 million. The winner will also add 500 FedEx Cup points to his season total. The first groups tee off at 6:45 a.m. ET.

Before locking in your 2024 Cognizant Classic one and done picks,  you need to see what SportsLine DFS pro and PGA expert Mike McClure has to say.

The One and Done format is growing in popularity. It has several noticeable similarities to NFL Survivor pools, with the main difference being entries are not eliminated with a bad week. Players pick one golfer per week and earn points based on their selected golfer's prize money for that tournament. Golfers can only be used once per season, and the point format makes nailing majors and big money tournaments critical.

McClure is a DFS legend with over $2 million in career winnings,  and he's been RED-HOT on his PGA picks dating back to the PGA Tour restart in June of 2020. McClure uses his proprietary simulation model to analyze the field and crush his golf picks .

McClure nailed plenty of One and Done picks in 2023. At the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open, McClure's top One and Done pick, Max Homa, outlasted the entire field to take home his sixth career PGA Tour victory and $1.566 million.  At the WM Phoenix Open, McClure nailed  Scheffler winning the tournament, taking home $3.6 million!

He correctly called Jon Rahm's wins at The Masters and the Sentry Tournament of Champions. Then at the RBC Canadian Open McClure listed Nick Taylor and Tyrrell Hatton as two of his top one and done picks. Taylor would go on to win the tournament , while Hatton finished in third place! And finally, at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, his top OAD pick was eventual tournament champion Rickie Fowler!

This season, one of his top OAD picks was for The American Express was Justin Thomas, who finished in third place and took home $635,600, and at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am his top pick was Scottie Scheffler, who finished in sixth place after the final round was cancelled due to weather. At the WM Phoenix Open, McClure recommended OAD players use Scheffler as their pick if they hadn't done so already this season. He ended up finishing in third place, taking home $519,200. Finally, one of McClure's top OAD picks at the Genesis Invitational was Patrick Cantlay, who finished in fourth place at the signature event.

Now, McClure has set his sights on the 2024 Cognizant Classic and just revealed his optimal One and Done picks. They are a must-see for any player looking for an edge in their One and Done pool.

We can tell you that one of McClure's favorite One and Done picks for the 2024 Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches is Min Woo Lee. The World No. 42 is quickly becoming one of the most popular players on the PGA Tour, and has proven he can compete against the top players on the planet. Lee is one of the most talented players in this field, and McClure expects him to make a strong run at the 2024 Cognizant Classic title.

McClure is also targeting another golfer in his PGA One and Done picks who is listed as a 35-1 longshot in the latest Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches odds.   Picks like these could be the difference between winning your One and Done pool or going home with nothing. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in your pick.

So what are the top One and Done picks for the 2024  Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches in Palm Beach Gardens , and which under-the-radar golfer offers HUGE value? ... 2024 Cognizant Classic one and done picks, odds, sleepers: PGA Tour predictions, expert golf betting advice

Mike mcclure locked in his pga one and done golf picks, rankings and top sleepers for the cognizant classic in the palm beaches 2024 at pga national resort in palm beach gardens.

min-woo-lee-usatsi-cbs.jpg

The PGA Tour Florida swing gets underway on Thursday at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens when the 2024 Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, formerly known as the Honda Classic, tees off. World No. 2 Rory McIlroy headlines the 144 players in the 2024 Cognizant Classic field. McIlroy is listed as the 6-1 favorite in the 2024 Cognizant Classic odds. Other top contenders include Cameron Young (22-1), Russell Henley (25-1), Matt Fitzpatrick (28-1), Min Woo Lee (30-1), J.T. Poston (30-1), Tom Kim (30-1), Sungjae Im (35-1), Byeong Hun An (35-1), and Eric Cole (35-1). The total 2024 Cognizant Classic purse is $9 million, with the winner's share listed as $1.62 million.

As the most accomplished and highest-ranked player in the field, should McIlroy be among your top targets in One and Done pools this week? Or should you target a long shot like Keith Mitchell, Justin Rose, or Ricke Fowler? Before locking in your 2024 Cognizant Classic one and done picks, you need to see what SportsLine DFS pro and PGA expert Mike McClure has to say .

The One and Done format is growing in popularity. It has several noticeable similarities to NFL Survivor pools, with the main difference being entries are not eliminated with a bad week. Now, McClure has dialed in on the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches golf tournament and just locked in his one and done picks and PGA predictions. They are a must-see for any player looking for an edge in their One and Done pool. You can only see McClure's Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches 2024 one and done picks at SportsLine .

Top 2024 Cognizant Classic One and Done picks

One of McClure's top one and done picks this week for the Cognizant Classic is Min Woo Lee. The 25-year-old Australian is still looking for his first career PGA Tour victory, but is quickly establishing himself as one of the top young players in the sport. Capcom Cup 11 will return with another $1 million grand prize

Right before the close of Capcom Cup X, the developer announced that the Capcom Pro Tour would be returning in June 2024.

TJ Denzer

Capcom Cup X has finally come to an end, a champion has been crowned, and the $2 million prize pool has been claimed by its competitors. Now it’s time to get ready for the next big one. Capcom didn’t even let the competition cool down before announcing Capcom Cup 11 and Capcom Pro Tour 2024. This year’s competition will also feature another $1 million USD grand prize for the winning player.

Capcom released a trailer for Capcom Pro Tour 2024 near the end of Capcom Cup X, following UMA’s incredible win over Chris Wong to become the champion. It was in that trailer and information following that Capcom Pro Tour 2024 would begin in June. Like Capcom Cup X, the 2024 Pro Tour will feature online and offline tournaments, as well as the World Warrior regional program, to sift qualifying winners from around the world and gather the next set of competitors for Capcom Cup 11. That final competition will also feature a $1 million grand prize for the winner.

Anyone who missed out on the first year of Street Fighter 6 and Capcom’s massive esports prize pools now has another crack at the action. Street Fighter 6 has been going strong for a little under a year, and the game shows no sign of slowing down with Ed about to launch and Akuma coming to round out the Year 1 DLC .

This previous year was full of wild surprises, familiar contenders, new blood, and fantastic fights. With that in mind, we expect Capcom Pro Tour 2024 and Capcom Cup 11 to have their own share of amazing moments. Stay tuned as we cover them leading up to the start of the season in June.

SANDBLASTER!!! (x7 for the multiple players)

It still wasn't 6 Leroys, a Julia, and an Anna. Nor was it SEVEN SETHS and.... a Cammy I wanna say. SEVEN SETHS IN TOP 8.

yeah, watching it live "this year was huge - don't expect it to be this big again!" "that said, SURPRISE - next year is as big again!!!"

The way he worded it sounded like the overall prize pool will be less than this year's 2 million total, but first place is still 1 million. So the runner ups get shafted next year with their payouts.

Visa Argentina Open presented by Macro: Things to know, scoring records and more

Change Text Size

The 117th edition of the Visa Argentina Open presented by Macro and hosted by Olivos Golf Club in Buenos Aries, Argentina, begins Thursday. The fifth of 26 events in the Korn Ferry Tour season, the Visa Argentina Open was a staple for a decade on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica running from 2012-22.

Here's what you need to know about this event:

1. A South American tradition

The Visa Argentina Open is one of golf’s oldest national open championships. This year, however, it will be making it’s debut as a Korn Ferry Tour event. First played in 1905, the Visa Argentina Open is the seventh-oldest national open still in existence, only behind The Open Championship, India Open, U.S. Open, Australian Open, South African Open and RBC Canadian Open.

2. New place, familiar face

Olivos Golf Club is hosting the Visa Argentina Open presented by Macro for the 12th time in its history, and for the first time since 2016 (other previous years hosted: 1936, ‘42, ‘49, ‘77, ‘79, ‘82, ‘84, ‘92, ’96 and 2003). Originally established in 1926 before a relocation to its current site in 1953, Olivos Golf Club previously appeared on the “100 Greatest Courses Outside the United States” list produced by Golf Digest.

3. Past winners return

Three past champions of the Visa Argentina Open presented by Macro are in the field: Jorge Fernández Valdés (2021), Marcelo Rozo (2013), Ángel Cabrera (2001, ’02 and ‘12). Aside from past champions, the field includes 33 Korn Ferry Tour winners with 45 total victories, including Argentinians Nelson Ledesma (2018 LECOM Health Challenge, 2019 The Ascendant presented by Blue), Jorge Fernández Valdés (2023 UNC Health Championship presented by STITCH), and Fabián Gómez (2010 Chitimacha Louisiana Open). The field also includes seven PGA TOUR winners with 11 total victories, led by Ángel Cabrera with three.

4. International trend

The Tour has seen two international winners in four events this year: the prodigious Aldrich Potgieter of South Africa and University of Colorado alum Jeremy Paul of Germany. This week’s field includes 20 players from four different Latin American countries. Could we see a third international winner among this pool rise?

What’s at stake?

In addition to earning 500 points counting towards the Korn Ferry Tour Points List and $180,000 of the tournament-record $1 million purse, this week’s winner earns an exemption for the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon this coming July.

Tournament facts:

  • Course: Olivos Golf Club (par 70, 6,795 yards)
  • Course designer: Luther Koontz
  • Defending champion: Zack Fischer (2022)
  • Purse: $1,000,000 ($180,000/winner)
  • Low 18-hole score: 62, Ángel Cabrera (2002, Round 2, Hurlingham Club), Tyson Alexander (2017, Round 2, Jockey Club)
  • Low 72-hole score: 264, Miguel Fernandez (1988, Hurlingham Club)

  • Expocentre Exhibition Complex;
  • and other famous sights.

You will learn about the different epochs of the city from the foundation in 1147 till Soviet times of 20 th  century.

Moscow River

Moskva river has the form of a snake and is the main waterway of Moscow, consisting of a cascade of reservoirs. Within the city, Moskva river is 80 km long, 120 m - 200 m wide and up to 14 m deep. The narrowest part of the river is the Kremlin area in the city center, and the most extensive is around the Luzhniki Stadium in the south.

Bridges in Moscow

Undoubtedly, bridges and embankments are among the most scenic spots and main attractions of Moscow. Plus, they are so romantic.

  • Bolshoy Kamenny Bridge –  Great Stone Bridge –  is the main bridge of Moscow . The first stone bridge was constructed here in the 17th century.
  • Patriarshy Bridge  is one of the youngest pedestrian bridges, built in 2004. The bridge connects the iconic Christ the Saviour Cathedral with funky Bersenevskaya embankment, extremely popular place among locals for its trendy art galleries, cafes and panoramic views. Patriarshy Bridge used to be a shooting location for ex-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's New Year speech to the nation.
  • Borodinsky Bridge,  erected in honor of the 100th anniversary of the glorious victory in the Battle of Borodino (which every Russian kid knows about), a fierce legendary battle during the Russo-French war of 1812.
  • Bagration Bridge  one of the  pedestrian bridges with most picturesque views of the Moskva River with its numerous upper-level observation platforms. The bridge was erected to celebrate the 850th anniversary of Moscow city in 1997.
  • Krymsky Bridge  used to be in Top 5 Europe’s longest bridges some 100 years ago. The bridge got its name after the ancient Krymsky ford which Crimean Tartars used to invade Moscow in the 16 th  century.

Embankments of Moscow

Moscow river boats 37 embankments, the most popular being Kremlevskaya, Sofiyskaya, Pushkinskaya, Vorobyovskaya and Kolomenskaya.

You can get the most spectacular views of the Kremlin from  Kremlevskaya and Sofiyskaya embankments.

  • Pushkinkaya embankment  is the most romantic in Moscow. It meanders along Gorky Park and Neskuchnyi garden and is rich for all kinds of entertainment as well as cozy nooks, including Olivkovy beach, the famous Zeleny theater as well as a pier for river cruisers.
  • Vorobyevskaya embankment  is part of Sparrow Hills nature reserve. This place opens a beautiful panorama of the river and city from the observation deck and is considered to be the place for taking serious decisions in life.
  • Embankment in Kolomenskoye  Museum-Reserve has a special charm due to its peculiar geographical relief. The boat trip around Kolomenskoye would be the most peaceful in your life.
  • Taras Shevchenko embankment  is popular among photographers for its modern Moscow City skyscrapers. Highly recommended for your night boat trip.
  • Embankments of Moscow are the pride of the capital. A distinctive feature of each of the promenades is its architecture and beautiful views. In addition, almost all the embankments of Moscow have a rich history and a lot of notable buildings.

Different epochs

Taking a walk along the Moskva River by boat, you will witness the architecture of Moscow from different eras and styles. Archaeological studies indicate that already in the XI century there stood a fortified settlement on Borovitsky hill, which is now called the Kremlin. Little fortress could not accommodate all the residents of the rapidly growing city, and the Grand Duke ordered the construction of a new Kremlin, larger than the former.

Boat trip around Kolomenskoe Park

Moscow river boat trip starts from the pier Klenovy (Maple) Boulevard and provides reat views of Nicholas Perervinsky monastery.

Nicholas Perervinsky monastery was founded at the time of the Battle of Kulikov (1380). The monastery, got its name from the surrounding area – “Pererva”, which can be translated like “tear off” and because of the location –  here it abruptly changed its course, turning to Kolomna, standing on the opposite bank.

Nowadays Kolomenskoye is State Art, Historical, Architectural and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve, which doors are open to everyone who wants to get in touch with the ancient history of Russia.

Take a break from the big city hustle in the shady parks and gardens of the Kolomenskoe Museum-Reserve. Don’t miss a wonderful Church of the Ascension and Tsar Alexey’s Palace in Kolomenskoye!

Monasteries and temples

  • Novospassky Monastery
  • Founded in the 13th century on the site where now is located the Danilovsky monastery. After a few decades, in 1330, Ivan Kalita moved the monastery onto the Borovitskii hill of the Kremlin. However, in the 15th century, Spassky Monastery again moved, this time to a more spacious place on Krasnoholmskaya waterfront.
  • Church of St. Nicholas in Zayaitskom
  • Erected in the middle of the XVIII century in baroque style. The building survived after the 1812 fire, but the utensils were destoyed. Parishioners collected donations and restored the temple on their own. In Soviet times, it was closed and re-opened only in 1992.
  • Cathedral of Christ the Savior
  • The church was originally erected in honor of the victory over Napoleon and was being under construction for long 44 years. Notoriously demolished in 1937 to be a giant swimming pool under open sky. The current building was constructed in 1990s. It is the tallest and one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world.
  • The temple was built in 1679-82, during the reign of Tsar Fedor Alekseevich, in late Muscovite Baroque style and can be characterized as bonfire temple. Each gable is a symbol of a heavenly fire.
  • Novodevichy Convent
  • The most famous concent and monastery in Moscow, presumably founded in 1524. Novodevichy’s status has always been high among other monasteries, it was in this monastery where the women of the royal blood, the wives of Tsars and local rulers of Moscow were kept in prison as nuns.
  • St. Andrew’s church  (male acts as Compound Patriarch of Moscow)
  • St. Andrew’s church stands right on the slopes of the Sparrow Hills, on the way down to the Moskva River, on the territory of the Nature Reserve “Sparrow Hills”. The monastery is small in size but is very cozy. It’s situated in a quiet courtyard surrounded by temples, fruit trees and flowers.
