The Rolling Stones Announce More 2024 ‘Hackney Diamonds’ Tour Dates – Setlist & Tickets

stones latest tour

Legendary rock band The Rolling Stones has thrilled fans with the announcement of their upcoming tour of their Hackney Diamonds album, set to take place in 16 cities across the United States and Canada.

Formed in 1962, The Rolling Stones are known for songs like “Start Me Up,” “Gimme Shelter” and “Satisfaction.” The tour, promoted by AEG Presents’ Concerts West, will kick off on April 28 and conclude on July 17. Lead singer Mick Jagger will be joined by fellow founding members Keith Richards on guitar and Ronnie Wood on guitar, who officially became a member of the band in 1976.

The band is sponsored by AARP, an influential U.S. interest group that focuses on issues that affect individuals over the age of 50. This partnership highlights the appeal and cross-generational impact of The Rolling Stones’ music.

The announcement should come as no surprise to fans, as the band has shown no signs of slowing down after seven decades, a testament to their dedication and love for performing. Last month, The Rolling Stones surprised audiences in New York with a seven-song set that included debut performances of several new songs alongside beloved classics.

Hackney Diamonds came out on October 20, 2023.

The group’s previous North American tour, the ‘No Filter’ tour in 2021, took place shortly after the death of drummer Charlie Watts, who had only missed a single concert since he joined the band in 1962. The upcoming tour will visit major markets, with a special performance at the 2024 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on May 2.

The Rolling Stones Announce 2024 Stadium Tour in Support of 'Hackney Diamonds' Album — See the Dates!

The Rolling Stones' upcoming 16-date run marks the U.K. rock band's first U.S. concerts since 2019's No Filter Tour

MARK SELIGER

The Rolling Stones are taking Hackney Diamonds to North America!

On Tuesday, the legendary U.K. rock band announced the Stones Tour '24 Hackney Diamonds, sponsored by AARP, a 16-date run of stadium concerts across the United States and Canada set for next year.

Kicking off April 28 in Houston, the Rolling Stones will perform shows in cities including New Orleans, Las Vegas, Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and more before wrapping on July 17 in Santa Ana, California.

The Stones Tour '24 Hackney Diamonds marks the "Jumpin' Jack Flash" group's first time returning to the U.S. for an official string of concerts since 2019's No Filter Tour — as well as its first since the death of longtime drummer Charlie Watts in August 2021.

Tickets for the upcoming tour go on sale Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. local time, with more information available at the Rolling Stones' website .

Before releasing Hackney Diamonds last month, the band held an intimate concert at club Racket in New York City, where members Mick Jagger , Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood performed songs including such as “Shattered,” “Angry,” “Whole Wide World” and "Jumpin' Jack Flash."

The performance also included the live debut of Hackney Diamonds track "Sweet Sounds of Heaven" with a surprise appearance from Lady Gaga , who provides guest vocals on the song.

The Stones  announced  Hackney Diamonds   at a press event in London earlier this month, where Jagger, Richards and Wood took the stage to talk to  Jimmy Fallon  about the album.

"We wouldn't have put this album out if we didn't really like it," Jagger, 80, said to Fallon. "We must say that we are quite pleased with it. We’re not big-headed but we hope you like it."

In an emotional moment, the trio also touched on what it was like to record the album without Watts. "Ever since Charlie’s gone it’s different, he’s number four," Richards, 79, said. "He’s missing, he’s up there. Of course he's missed incredibly."

The news of the US tour comes just days after the rock veterans began teasing an upcoming announcement by showcasing their logo around the world .

Over the weekend, fans began noticing their famous tongue and lips logo popping up in public. For instance, in Denver, a giant red and black banner appeared showing the band’s signage displayed at the Empower Field at Mile High – home to the NFL’s Broncos, and in Cleveland, projections of the logo were seen on the Terminal Tower and at Browns Stadium.

Formula One fans spotted the tongue and lips design too, when it was placed atop two Aston Martins that took part in the Las Vegas Grand Prix on Saturday night (November 18). The hints of a tour announcement first began on Friday (November 17), however, when the band posted a cryptic visual with the caption: “Want to be the first to know? Enter your details here.”

The new tour comes in celebration of The Rolling Stones’ latest album ‘Hackney Diamonds’ – their first full-length LP since 2005.

Shared last month, the album featured guest appearances from the likes of Lady Gaga , Paul McCartney , Stevie Wonder and Elton John , and also saw the band top the charts.

Speaking with NME at the time , Ronnie Wood first teased plans to hit the road again when he revealed that it is a “must” to return to Glastonbury again.

“Me, I’d love it. I think it’s a must. If not next year, then,” he told NME . “If not the Stones then the Faces,” he added. “It’ll be me, Rod [Stewart] and [drummer] Kenney [Jones]. That’s not out of the question, you know. I know they want to do it…”

He also spoke more generally about the reality of touring again and showing off the new songs in a live setting, stating: “I have complete faith. We could play the whole album, you know what I mean? But [Mick and Keith] will go, ‘Oh no Ron, that’s so ambitious’. We’re not gonna forget the back catalogue. There are certain songs, ‘Paint It, Black’ and ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’, that have got to be played. We’re only making room for, say, three or five songs.”

Appearing on 'CBS Sunday Morning', the 78-year-old guitar god spilled: “It’ll be interesting to find out the dynamics now that Steve’s in the band.

“It’s sort of metamorphosing into something else. I was working with Mick last week, and Steve, and we came up with some, eight or nine new pieces of material. Which is overwhelming by our standards. Other times, [songwriting is] like a desert.”

When quizzed on why penning new music can be challenging, he coyly replied: "It’s the muse thing. If I could find her address (laughing).”

Six decades after their first U.S. tour, the Rolling Stones are still commandeering stages.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. local time Dec. 1 via ticketmaster.com.

It hasn't been too long since the band worked stadium stages: In September 2021, they resumed their No Filter tour , which had been on a 16-month pandemic delay.

'I'm going to bust a gut and do it': Dolly Parton dug deep to become a 'Rockstar'

The Stones – Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood – are basking in a bit of a studio revival with “Hackney Diamonds,” their first new album since 2005 .

The album debuted at No. 1 on the U.K. albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart, making them the first act with a top 10 album each decade since the 1960s.

The single, “Angry,” is nominated for best rock song at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 4. (The band has three career wins .)

“Hackney Diamonds” is also the Stones’ first album since drummer Charlie Watts died in 2021.

The band premiered songs from the album at an intimate, invitation-only show of a few hundred people at the Racket NYC club in October, running through a handful of visceral new tracks and leaning into classics including “Shattered” and “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” with youthful vigor. Lady Gaga, who sings on the album track “Sweet Sounds of Heaven,” joined Jagger for a thunderous duet.

The Rolling Stones hugely-anticipated, Hackney Diamonds will be released on October 20 via Geffen Records in the U.S. and Polydor internationally. Here’s everything we know about the new album.

What’s on the album

On September 14, the group revealed the official tracklist for the 12-song project. On the album, late drummer Charlie Watts is featured on two tracks, “Mess It Up” and “Live By The Sword.” “Live By The Sword” additionally has bass from former Stones bassist Bill Wyman. “Sweet Sounds Of Heaven” featuring vocals from Lady Gaga and piano, Rhodes and Moog by Stevie Wonder . “Bite My Head Off” includes bass from Paul McCartney , and “Get Close” and “Live By The Sword” includes piano by Elton John .

Recording process

The album, the Stones’ first of new material since 2005’s A Bigger Bang , was produced by 2021 Grammy winner as Producer of the Year Andrew Watt and recorded in various locations, including Henson Recording Studios, Los Angeles; Metropolis Studios, London; Sanctuary Studios, Nassau, Bahamas; Electric Lady Studios, New York; and The Hit Factory/Germano Studios, also in New York.

The album was officially announced at a packed media event at London’s Hackney Empire on September 6, at which Mick Jagger, Keith Richards , and Ronnie Wood were interviewed in a global livestream by US TV personality Jimmy Fallon. Said Jagger: “I don’t want to be big-headed, but we wouldn’t have put this album out if we hadn’t really liked it. We didn’t want to make just any record and put it out…before we went in we all said ‘We’ll go and make a record that we really love ourselves. Other people may like it, other people may not’…but we’re pleased with it and we hope you all like it.”

First single

The album’s first single and album opener “Angry” features a music video directed by Francois Rousselet, who has worked with Nike, Diesel, and Pharrell Williams among many others, and on the Stones’ “Ride ’Em On Down,” from their chart-topping, Grammy-winning blues covers set of 2016, Blue & Lonesome .

The vibrant clip stars Emmy-nominated actress Sydney Sweeney, whose credits include The White Lotus , Euphoria , and The Handmaid’s Tale, and uses footage from many videos and performances by the Stones. The song was described, on the day of its September 6 release, by the  Daily Telegraph’s  Neil McCormick as the band’s best single for 40 years. “The style may be unapologetically old fashioned,” he wrote, “but the sonic punch is bang up to date.”

The cover art for Hackney Diamonds is by digital animator Paulina Almira, and the multi-format release will include limited RS No.9 Carnaby Red vinyl, available exclusively to pre-order direct from the flagship store. An exclusive line of Hackney Diamonds merchandise is also now available from the London store.

On October 19, the eve of the album’s release, the Stones played a surprise 40-minute set at the New York club Racket NYC, performing several tracks from  Hackney Diamonds  and some classic hits. They were joined for the encore by Lady Gaga, who reprised her duet with Mick Jagger on “Sweet Sounds Of Heaven.”

Hi there. The Rolling Stones in Prague the best show ever. The concert was absolutely amazing, fantastic, super great. The performance of the Rolling stones is in the highest quality, they are the living legend,I love them for ever and wish to all of them the best off everything. Thank you for unforgettable experience. So this was about the show, but I would like to tell you my worst nightmare I also had just before the concert. I bought three tickets from Viagogo office and to my horror I find out that the tickets were not valid and they were not in database. I paid 23.000KC.So to get to the event I've had to buy another three tickets for standing. THERE WAS MORE fans off the Rolling stones with some experience. I don't what to do about the matter. So this was MY best experience and the worst. Yours Luda Horakova Krasicka 53 Prostejov Czech republic .

The greatest rock n roll band in the world - No doubt about it. Mick, Keef, Charlie and Ronnie were sensational. From the opening Street Fighting Man to the encores of Gimme Shelter and Satisfaction they were as great as ever. Mick was the imperious frontman, Keith the axe wielding lunatic, Charlie the rock upon which the driving rhythms of Paint it Black are built, Ronnie the joker whose rhythm guitar convinces you the Stones play the devil’s music. Sensational just sensational. It was a privilege to be there.

The Rolling Stones concert was absolutely amazing. The singing, the music, the lighting, the fireworks and those large screens were great. They strutted their stuff through all the favourite numbers and some other great songs. Before you go, read the list of items not allowed inside the concert because you will lose them. Handbags larger than A5 size not allowed, including bumbags, cameras and camera bags, to name a few. All in All, everything went very smoothly, everyone loved it and we all had an amazing night, never to be forgotten.

Mick Jagger performing during the Rolling Stones’ Sixty tour at Anfield.

The Rolling Stones review – world’s greatest rockers are still a gas, gas, gas

Anfield, Liverpool While Abba perform as avatars, Jagger and co remain the real deal with the rip-roaring verve of stars several decades younger

M ick Jagger recently said rock’n’roll “isn’t supposed to be done in your 70s”, but he seems determined to prove this wrong. While Abba have returned as digital avatars of their young selves, the Stones’ frontman is his own living, breathing Jagger-tar. He turns 79 next month and has a replacement heart valve but sustains the stage energy of someone several decades younger. Alongside him, fellow grinning septuagenarians Keith Richards (78) and Ron Wood (75) sway elegantly like ancient trees in a breeze, playing their guitars with a swagger that suggests that time, however improbably, is still on their side.

Well, almost. Each show on this 60th-anniversary tour opens with a tribute to Charlie Watts, whose death aged 80 last year was a reminder that even Rolling Stones are mortal. Watts’s approved successor, American drummer Steve Jordan, is merely 65. He plays on the beat rather than behind it, but brings his own fills to Tumbling Dice and has clearly accustomed himself to the peculiarities of anchoring the Stones’ wayward, ramshackle glory and a catalogue brimming with copper-bottomed classics.

Brown Sugar, their second-most performed song ever, was recently retired – its references to slavery and sexuality proving too controversial for the modern era – but a stellar setlist stretches from 1963’s Lennon and McCartney-penned single I Wanna Be Your Man (“Since we’re in Liverpool …”, drawls Jagger) to the 2020 reggae-tinged lockdown single, Living in a Ghost Town.

Mick Jagger flanked by Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards, plus drummer Steve Jordan.

There’s a punchy Street Fighting Man; 19th Nervous Breakdown and Get Off My Cloud are kinetic. Out of Time – the 1966 song never performed before this tour – and a hymn-like You Can’t Always Get What You Want start the first of many singalongs. It’s not just the songs, though, it’s the delivery: Jagger’s voice is stadium-strong and the guitars cut through with a raw power usually polished out of gigs this size.

“It’s great to see you. It’s great to see anybody,” jokes the indestructible Richards, while Jagger quips about visiting local landmarks: hugging Cilla Black’s statue was “closer than I ever got in real life!” After bassist Darryl Jones brings the funk to Miss You, dusk descends and the stage glows red for Paint It Black and Sympathy for the Devil, brilliantly unsettling songs that acknowledge the darkness like nothing else in rock.

Then it’s into Gimme Shelter as images of bombed Ukraine remind us that war currently is “just a shot away”. As the clock passes the two-hour mark, Jagger is still Jumping Jack Flash incarnate, tearing into Satisfaction, a song he once said he didn’t want to be singing when he was 30.

They’re deep into uncharted territory now. No other band has rocked this hard for this long, but an Anfield roar of You’ll Never Walk Alone goes up to honour a group who are clearly still worthy of the title of the greatest rock’n’roll band in the world.

The Rolling Stones play Hyde Park, London, on 25 June and 3 July.

Kristen Stewart Uses Naked Dressing to Make a Point

Her press tour for “Love Lies Bleeding” was something to see.

Ms. Stewart poses in front of a “Love Lies Bleeding” curtain in a black bodysuit, cut very high on the thigh, and black stilettos.

By Vanessa Friedman

Even in the context of the current pantsless trend prevalent on the runway and in some celebrity circles, as well as the vogue for thematic dressing at movie openings, Kristen Stewart’s looks during her press tour for “ Love Lies Bleeding ” have stood out. Rarely has an actress been so unapologetically, gloriously undressed.

Ms. Stewart and her stylist, Tara Swennen, have taken the film’s carnality and covert politics and translated them for the promotional panopticon, forcing anybody watching to confront their own preconceptions about women’s bodies, their sexuality and exactly what empowerment means, while at the same time undermining the whole circus of branded celebrity dressing.

That’s a lot of subtext under very little — clothing, that is. But it was adroitly managed and awfully entertaining to see.

Margot Robbie had fun dressing à la Barbie during her “Barbie” press tour ; Zendaya captured eyeballs and social media during her “Dune: Part Two” camera calls dressed in sci-fi-themed Mugler, Givenchy and Alaïa; and the cast of “Godzilla Minus One” walked the Oscar red carpet in matching lizard-heel footwear. But with her “Love Lies Bleeding” appearances, Ms. Stewart took the concept of character cosplay to a new, more pointed level.

It started in Berlin back in February, when Ms. Stewart shed her shirt for the film’s European premiere, wearing a very short Chanel couture patchwork miniskirt, matching blazer and knit bralet. (She is a Chanel ambassador.) She raised the ante with a controversial Rolling Stone cover in which she wore only a Nike tank top and a jockstrap.

And when she showed up for the film’s Los Angeles premiere in only a “skirts, who needs ’em?” Bettter bodysuit, cut very high on the thigh, with sheer black tights, a black blazer and black stilettos, it was clear that such choices were not mere flukes but a conscious strategy.

As it happens, the motto of Bettter, a label that repurposes men’s suiting for women, is “empower rather than overpower.” Which, given the movie being celebrated, a queer film noir set in a small town in 1980s New Mexico and, as one reviewer wrote, a “ deconstruction of cinematic hypermasculinity ,” is pretty much on the nose.

It was when the promotional juggernaut reached New York, though, that Ms. Stewart really showed her hand. As well as other body parts, in an abbreviated black mini worn with a mesh bra, garter belt-’n’-stockings and a leather blazer for “Late Night With Seth Meyers” and a sheer Monot draped chain halter for “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” Paparazzi caught her exiting her building in tiny cream-colored knit hot pants and a bra worn under a khaki shirt, with stilettos, and then in athletic Chanel micro shorts and matching leg warmers. Again with heels.

The clothes were like a dare to the watching world, a refusal to cater to pretty-girls-in-pretty-dresses gender expectations and a good-natured riposte to the idea that provocation is an invitation. An “I see your judgment and raise you one” piece of fashion politics.

In so orchestrating her outfits, Ms. Stewart, who looked as if she was enjoying herself quite a lot, thank you, demonstrated just how much can be said on the pseudo red carpet even without an E! host asking the point of what she was wearing. You really couldn’t miss her point. After all, she wasn’t exactly covering it up.
