A Woman Who Loves Golf

This blog is not about golf technique but about women and golf in general. I'll relate the ups and downs of everyday golf play, the situations we women find ourselves in trying the navigate the male dominated world of golf, and what it's like to be part of a women's golf association. Fore!

I hope you continue to enjoy my blog.

Love the "Fifty Shades of Green" idea! Do you have any specific ideas that were used? Sounds like so much fun!

I actually got this from a friend whose club did this. For their cocktail party they had green apple martinis. For the table center pieces they had bowls of different green m and ms. For the tee boxes on several holes, they had the fifty shades masks done in green. The women wore for the cocktail party any shade of green they had and if they had a mask, wore one. They pretty much stayed away from the "theme" of fifty shades. They gave gift cards as prizes and they were all green...Things like that. Oh, the cart girls dressed in some green. I guess it depends on the degree to which your club wants to do the real "fifty shades" stuff...

Do you have any ideas for the "Fifty Shades of Green"? Prizes? Centerpieces?

Need ideas for gifts/favors for women golfers that will go along with our theme on Opening Day- "Fifty Shades of Green?"

Would like to have some suggestions for prizes, centerppieces and favors

We did this last year and it was great! Our favors were green boas and some green candy. The boas were great for photos and then some decorated their carts. Our gift to each participant were golf sunglasses "shades" and prizes were "green" cash prizes. Were ordered huge $100 fake bills from an online party store nd attached proshop gift cards. Our decorations were small bowls of green flowers, hydrangeas and green cushion mums. We hung those tissue paper balls in groups of three from the ceiling over each table. They looked fantastic! The locker room was decorated with green flowers, balloons, tulle gathered with handcuffs! We picked some not so raunchy sayings and items from the book and made them relevant to golf. It was so much fun!!! Good luck!

We're doing 50 shades of green for our member/guest this year. I need some ideas for games....anyone have any suggestions?

We did "Diamond's in the Rough" last year. All gifts were blinged out. Black table cloths, white napkins; Centerpieces were black branches in vases with "diamonds" on glass, and "diamonds" were sprinkled on the tables. We hid a huge "diamond" paperweight on the course, and if someone found it they were to tell the pro. 14 different women found it, and did a Concentration game (25 items in my golf bag) to determine one winner. Each table did a diamond quiz and the table with the highest score won prizes. All players wore diamonds or bling. We are doing "50 shades of green" this year, and all decorations, food, and most gift items are green, even the magnetic putters we are giving away!

Thanks Terri, great ideas. We are doing "Diamond's in the Rough for our Member/Guest in June, 2014. I am open for more advise or ideas. Thanks, Jeanne

do you have any pictures to share?? I was just given this task and I must admit I am struggling a bit. Waiting for the juices to flow. Thanks!

We have done a tailgating theme in the fall, as we are in the south where tailgating is a way of life. The luncheon was tailgating foods - fried chicken, deviled eggs, etc. Last year our Invitational (individual play) was 'Swing With Bling". Easy one to get carried away with. Bling ever where. Winner was given a crown with the trophy. One year "For the Love of Golf". Easy prizes - I had an artist design ceramic where with hearts and golf clubs. This design was used on invites. To supplement tournament, we purchased lots of heart stuff on after Valentines clearance.

Can you provide more details about your "swing with bling" theme?

Tee markers (#1 & #10) were blinged golf clubs, crossed. So cute. Tee gifts were zipper pulls or something similar, blingy. Prizes had bling on them, but the overall winner was crowned with a tiara. Tables were topped with black toppers, white napkins, plants with bling in them and diamonds thrown on the table. Contestants wore bling - to the course and the social parts of the tournament.

WOULD LOVE SOME INFO ON BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S....WE'VE BEEN DOING MEMBER/GUEST DAY WITH LOTS OF DIFFERENT THEMES..THIS PAST YEAR WE DID RHINESTONE COWGIRL..IT WAS A HIT!! THIS YEAR I'M THE CHAIR...HELP!! B.S. TORONTO

We did "Breakfast at Tiifanys" last year. Tiffany box color tablecloths with black napkins, and beautiful white flower centerpieces with pearl napkin holders. For the gift (depending on the budget), Tiffany's has a golf key ring which is really pretty. We gave out a Black Tote bag with a silver golf ball clasp, and wrapped them in Tiffany box color bags with white tissue paper. We also had small Tiffany color boxes on the tables, with a golf ball/tees inside. Everyone enjoyed it! Karen - Westchester NY

WE are thinking about Breakfast at Tiffany's for this year's member guest 2 day tournament. What would the pro's (men) consider wearing?

I would love to have some info on Rhinestone Cowgirl theme or any other themes. This year we did the Around the World in Eighteen Holes and it was a hit!

please send me info on around the world in 18 holes

We are having a member guest in June with the theme of Around the World in Eighteen Holes and would love to have ideas for awards and prizes.

We did Around the World in 18 Holes last September, and we put various country flags on the pins (each hole was a different country with the country sign at the tee box) made hot air balloons to sit on each table (using 18 inch helium balloons, yarn for roping and small baskets). We even made a mock hot air balloon basket (using a flat wardrobe moving box) with lots of helium balloons flying atop, we could stand behind and look like we were about to ascend, for photo op! I have traveled all over the world, and have lots of decor to bring in to decorate with. Served a buffet filled with great dishes from around the world! Great fun and great theme!

Did anyone do a Hawaiian Theme?

This could be a great site, wonderful idea. I am in charge of a guestday in March and would love some clever ideas. Thank you. We had Shopper Gals theme, centerpieces of old fancy heels that where painted. Prizes in shopping bags, etc. It was fun. Have had Diamonds in the Rough, Teaparty, Jungle Jane, Red Carpet, Route 66 guestdays and many others. New ideas are always welcome!

Would love some suggestions for a tournament "around the world in 18 holes"? SG

we did WILD WILD WEST SHOWDOWN AS OF THEME. AT OUR COCKTAIL PARTY EVERYONE WORE COUNTRY WEST THEME CLOTHING. WE GAVE A PRIZE TO BEST DRESSED. WE HAD A PUTTING CONTEST. THE DAY OF THE EVENT WE HAD A SIGN AT THE ENTRANCE "WELCOME TO WILD WILD WEST SHOWDOWN" after the luncheon as everyone was leaving we had signs YA'LL COME BACK REAL SOON...... BEFORE THE LADIES SHOTGUN WE PLAYED COUNTRY WESTERN MUSIC BY THE RANGE. WE HAD CEMENT BOOTS 2 FT TALL WITH FLOWERS IN THE BOOTS BY THE ENTRANCE OF THE DINING ROOM. WE HAD A SILENT AUCTION WE WENT TO LOCAL RESTAURANTS AND GOT GIFT CERTIFICATES. WE WENT TO JEWELERY STORES AND GOT 3 WATCHES AND NECKLACES, A FLAT SCREEN TV FOR THE SILENT AUCTION. LISTEN EVERYONE THERE ARE LOCAL BUSINESSES OUT THERE WHO JUST HAVE TO BE ASKED TO DONATE. 98% DONATED. WE HAD A BIG SIGN TO RECOGNIZE ALL BUSINESSES WHO DONATED. ALSO, I GOT A CAR FOR A HOLE IN ONE. JUST ASK A LOCAL CAR DEALERSHIP TO DONATE A CAR. THE OWNER ONLY HAS TO PAY INSURNACE APPROX $800.00 FOR THE HOLE IN ONE THE CAR DEALERSHIP WILL PROVIDE ALL SIGNS TO ADVERTISE. INVITE THE OWNER TO THE COCKTAIL PARTY AND/OR THE LUNCHEON. INTRODUCE HIM TO THE LADIES. JUST ASK LADIES I DID. ON THE TABLES FOR THE LUNCHEON WE RENTD TABLE CLOTHES WESTERN THEME. WE GOT A LOCAL RESTAURANT TO LEND US A SADDLE ON WHEELS. AGAIN GO TO LOCAL RESTAURANTS AND ASK FOR GIFT CERTIFICATES YOU CAN USE SOME FOR LONG DRIVE AND CLOSET TO THE PIN AND THE REST FOR THE SILENT AUCTION. OUR INVITATIONAL WAS TALKED ABOUT FOR MONTHS AFTER WE HAD IT. ALL OF THE LOCAL GUESTS WENT BACK TO THEIR CLUBS AND SAID, how did they pull that off!!!!!

I'm planning on doing "Pearls of Golf Wisdom" this year with Pearl decorations obviously, and I'd like to do a sort of on course game where you can be entered to win a prize at the end...any ideas ladies?

Last year we did Diamonds in the Rough as our theme. I placed triva questions on each tee box - all answers had either diamond or rough in the answer. Some were easy, some were not. I used old sponsor signs from a pervious tournment, the blank back side for the questions. I blinged out the sign and also the answer card that I gave each foursome. Once cocktail hour started we all went out to our putting green (which luckily is right outside of our grill room) and we had a blind folded putting contest. I had a "blinged out" mask that I covered the eyeholes, each person took one practice shot without the mask. It was hysterical.

Can you provide some examples of the questions?

Last year we did the Western Theme. I always name my tables for seating purposes so we used all kinds of western related names. We did a tomstone as centerpeices, filled preserve jars with candy and put some country fabric on the lid and tied them with Raffia. Handed those out at registration. Had some wanted posters on different holes of popular Western Movie actors (made them look old and burned them up a little so faces were not so easily identifyable). The girls had to guess the actors and a prize was given for that. Played some games at cocktail hour on the clubhouse patio (among others, shooting cans with water pistols). The girls dressed up as cowgirls. Had lots of fun.

It would be really helpful if there was an explanation of each of the tournament themes - to help create some ideas on how each of them were run. thanks.

That's a great idea but the ideas are coming from you gals, therefore, I don't know all of the particulars. I'm just compiling the list and hopefully you're committee's creative genes kick in. If you're like our club there is no lack of that.

I love the idea of swinging in the rain since we have had such a rainy spring - also love divots for divas what gifts would you add to these and ideas for prizes?

Gifts for the swinging in the rain would be: rain hats, golf umbrellas, rain gloves, or things to do while you don't "swing in the rain" i.e. any kind of store or shopping gift cards, decks of cards that are personalized (I've gotten a deck and use it all of the time), game Left, Right, Center. For the divots and divas, the club used for gifts engraved martini glasses, for prizes crystal glasses like champagne flutes on an engraved base.

We are doing Rhinestone Cowgirl this month. Would love specifics on how others followed this theme

Plan on doing this for guest day, wondering if you did this and if do, please give me specifics. Thank you.

Can anyone give me some ideas on around the world in18 holes for a women's member guest? Help!! Thanks so much.

We did this theme several years ago - We gave luggage scales as tee gifts. The luncheon consisted of food from each of the 7 continents.

I would do a travel theme and have each hole named after a specific country. Your flights could be the same. Or named after the word "hello" in different languages. Prizes could be great travel totes or travel golf gear. Or you could go the hot air balloon route for decorations. Hope this helps.

Great! Thank you so much. How do you think we can incorporate a pretend passport into the mix? Wish for a hot air balloon but don't think it feasible...maybe just helium. Lol. Can't serve a different food on each of the 18 holes because of constraints from our club. Need ideas that are inexpensive but so fun. Thanks again for a jump start. Any other ideas? This is coming up in April 2015. Help!

I just had our ladies invitational" come along to the movies" We used popcorn bowls filled with microwave popcorn. Large movie style candy and a DVD movie which was a winner of an Oscar. Their tee gift was a gift card to our local movie theater. I bought supplies and decorations from Oriental Trading. It was a hit

That's an awesome idea! Thanks for sharing! I'll add it to the above list...

What a great site. I hope this forum will be able to help me too. I'm looking for year-end prize ideas for my golf league. In the past we've awarded our Most Improved Player and the player with the lowest gross score. We are hoping to expand our list to include additional recognitions. Would you mind sharing your prize list with me? Many thanks in advance.

For awards at the end of the year we do: An ace of aces winner that is flighted (you have to qualify and it's a stableford point system), a match play cup winner which is flighted, a betting game called Queen of Clubs that is throughout the year, iron woman (who plays the most), ringer book winner (flighted), most birdies. flighted, and most improved. Hope this helps.

Terrific suggestions. I'm not familiar with Queen of Clubs. Can you tell me more about it? Many thanks for the input.

Queen of Clubs...at the beginning of the year you put up $20. Certain play days are designated as money ball days. There are two winners per play day. So, the more money ball days you place, the better your chance of winning at the end of the season. The payout, of course, is dependent on how many put in the $20. At the end of the year, we pay for 1st and 2nd place. The winner is the Queen of Clubs. You can enter the pool at any time throughout the play day season. You're eligible to win from that day forward.

so you say there are 2 winners per play day - how are the winners determined at the end of the year. Debbie Berry Creek - Georgetown TX

Under the Tuscan Sun Any details on this

This was someone else's idea but here's what I think: The flights could be the names of famous Tuscan cities, lots of sunflowers, bottles of Italian wine for prizes or pasta/wine baskets, anything medieval with pomp and circumstance. I'm including a blog posting that has pictures of a horse race in Siena that will give you an idea of the pageantry: http://www.satisfyingmycuriosity.com/2011/07/05/a-horse-race-like-youve-never-seen/

need some ideas on great tee prizes in the $20 pr person range!

Last year we did the Club Glove towel set in pink. See above ad on the right. Our pro got them for $16.00 plus tax. The year before we did the golf umbrellas also pictured on the right. The pro couldn't beat Amazon's price on those. Year before that we did Dammit Dolls Beat Cancer. They're really cute and are great to hit your partner or spouse over the head with. They're in the $16 range also at Amazon. Hope this helps...

For t gifts, the Ladies Pro Shop online has alot of gift ideas. We previously gave shoe bags, for the 1920's theme we gave Downton Abby earrings(from Amazon less than $15. Clip on accessory bags, various colored Gloves (pro shop online), towels, evening handbags from Amazon. Good luck. If you have an idea, search it, you'll eventually find it within your price range, its just a matter of quality.

Thanks, those are some great ideas...

I am really interested to hear from anyone who has chaired a '50 shades of green' tournament. Tee prizes are my biggest worry....decor is not. Any info would be appreciated

Last year during our 50 shades of pink tournament for a breast cancer charity, we did these really nice towels that are advertised at the top of the post. Our pro got them for a little less. We also gave away the golf Dammit Dolls which are fun. They're green. Green ball markers in bling...Hope this helps...

We would like to do a "Go Wild" (animal theme) for our Bring a Friend tournament. Our Ladies golf group has requested that we keep the cost down and we are a self supporting event. Any one have ideas for gifts, etc. to go with that theme. Both coordinators can sew. We like the idea of having 4 different animals and the 2 best ball theme would be the score of best ball plus the score of the animal chosen for that hole. Any ideas would be appreciated !

We did a similar - I was able to get wild animal head covers for tee gifts. The same could be used for prizes though.

I am interested in using the "Wild about Golf" theme for this years Mem/Guest invitational. Can you tell me more about this event and how it worked for you?

We just completed our invitational yesterday with a "Golf, It's a Jungle out there theme". We gave a leopard print golf pullover shirt, various animal prints wine purses, and various animal print clip on ball markers. It was a huge hit with everyone!

Our ladies member/guest tournament is called Par Tee at the Springs. On opening evening, we have a fun, 9 hole, par 3 event. Looking for a fun, creative, catchy name for this event. Any ideas? Thanks so much!

We are looking for a Christmas theme for a member / guest in December to base prizes, gifts, food and decorations around. Any ideas would be very welcome! Thanks.

We had that theme this year. One idea was to draw a big snowman in one of the fareways. If your ball landed in it you got a prize.

We did a "Merry June-mas" theme last year for our Stagette Night. I bought cheap Christmas decorations at Walmart after the holidays for decorations on the tables. Each person brought a less-than-$10 wrapped gift that we piled in the middle of the tables. At each hole there was a quiz question on a Christmas song. The number of correct answers on the quiz was deducted from the team's golf score. We also gave an extra prize to the team with the best score on the Christmas Carol Quiz. I also made up a 'golf' carol to the tune of Jingle Bells that we sang after dinner.

Last year the theme for our Invitational was Wild About Golf. That was a fun theme. There is much you can do with that one. This year "Spring Showers Bring May Flowers" - dates were April 30 - May 1. One year we did a Luau in the spring.

What did you do for Wild about Golf?

We did "It's not just about the fried chicken" one year. That sounds corny but our club is known for its fried chicken and the field said they would not come if we did not have friend chicken at the awards luncheon. We found a local source for jams, jellies and relishes to give for a tee gift and made our own (small) cookbook. Prizes were picnic food related.

We had a very successful "Life's A Beach" member/guest day. We had plastic pails with goodie bags inside. Included was an SPF lip balm and Skin So Soft wipes to keep away mosquitos. We had closest to the sand sifter (in the bunker) games and the winners of special contests (We had a few) won ball makers all in the beach theme from FunMarkers website. The tables were decorated with a hurricane lantern, sand from the bunkers and shells. We also had great wall covering from the dollar store to set off the room!

What type of special outfits did players wear?

What types of outfits would you wear for a Divas and Divots Themed golf tournament?

I am thinking about, "Girls just want to have fun" for a theme. Does anyone have any suggestions to support it?

80’s clothing & music.. dress like your fave 80’s musical artist or band... Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Bananarama, Annie Lennox, etc

Any ideas on decorating the tee boxes for Swing With Bling?

Love all your ideas! Please check out our website: www.visorversa.com - visors with interchangeable bands. Been in business for 6 years (won the "Best New Product" at 2010 PGA Merchandise Show!) We do LOTS of tee gifts/favors for tournaments - we can find ANY theme (just challenge us!) Great price point too!

Starting to work on ideas for summer 2016 Olympic theme. Thinking either country or sport for each table and decorations. Any and all ideas welcome--favors, tee markers, on-course games???? Maybe a team trivia quiz on each tee box. Cute titles for the day? thanks

We had a "Soak Up The Sun" themed member guest in July. All the décor was orange and yellow. We gave Beach Towels (from Sams Club $13 each, great quality) and SPF50 Lip Balm as our tee gift. The Team Prizes were Beach Chairs (from Sams) with Sand Pails filled with Sunscreen, Aloe gel, Golf hats and visors, sunglasses, Flip flops, and a pro shop gift card. depending on the place of the winner. On the 9th hole we had a kiddy inflatable swimming pool filled with water and with water guns, ice and beverages, so you can cool off, mid round. Everyone thought it was hokey at first, but it was 95 degrees that day and everyone took advantage of the water and had a blast squirting each other. then we left the guns for the next team to enjoy. We also had a small freezer near the on course rest room filled with ice cream treats. It was one of our best days!

We had a "Par for the Corpse" Murder Mystery theme based loosely on the Parker Bros. Game of Clue. We had 18 suspects (actual members from our Ladies League), 18 golf-related weapons, and 18 golf holes from our course. Everyone enjoyed the day and we have had requests for our "Operational Concept" from Ladies leagues as far away as Wisconsin and Florida.

This is one that I think our ladies would love this year. Suggestions on tee gifts and how you created 18 suspects, weapons on all 18 holes.

We loved your Par For The Corpse Murder Mystery theme! Please give us more details...we plan on using it for our member/member! Ideas for gifts, too...Thanks! Bonnie H.

I also like this idea. Do you have ideas you can share for golf course and party decorations as well as ideas on how you tailored the game to a golf tournament?

We did this for our 9 Hole Closing Day event in October. Huge success with the ladies at our club! We "killed" our pro off and had the grounds guy as the murderer! Wish I could post pictures here as they were great. Email me if you want more details!

Could you give me more details on how this worked . Love the" Par for the Corpse"

Am looking for more info on the Par for the Corpse concept. We are thinking of using it as a theme for a Ladies Tournament. Any info you could share would be helpful.

would love more info on the Par for the corpse concept, for a 9 hole tournament.

Does anyone have more info on the Par for the Corpse concept?

Can you Give more details? Love this idea!!! Prizes games decor?

We're doing an Olympic theme this year but looking for a tee prize ($20 range) - not necessarily related to the theme is my biggest challenge.

what else have you planned. We are also doing Olympic theme for m/g in July in Oregon. Would you share? Thanks barbjorgy @msn.com

I would be interested in the olympic theme ideas too! Starting to think of our event in July...Appreciate to read any ideas of decor and costuming as well as prizes!

Any ideas what to wear for a margaritaville theme?

Has anyone done a Day at the Spa theme? someone suggested and sounds fun but tying it to golf is a challenge

Our club is thinking of doing a St Andrews Old Course themed member guest. We will start our day with a light breakfast of scones and tea/coffee outside and will surprise our members and guests with a bagpiper, who will start playing on the 18th tee box and walk up the fairway to eventually come into view. We will assign a different country to each team and carry that over to the table centerpieces. I'm having trouble coming up with a cute name for the event and the rest of the details (gifts, decor...) Any clever people out there to help me out?

We did something similar for ours last year. We called it "Flowers of Scotland". Everyone wore plaid outfits, we had bagpiper music piped in as we couldn't get an actual piper. We also gave away a beautiful jar of an herb mixture actually called flower of Scotland. It was a really fun fall theme!

Oh, we also had plaid napkins on the tables and our centerpieces were gorgeous fall flowers. And with the jar of herbs we also included little bottles of Johnny Walker scotch!

We just had our April Guest Day, "Get me to the 19th Hole"-it was a great success. Our format was a Step Aside Scramble. Our food included a Mimosa bar, an antipasto bar, a plated lunch and a ice cream/sorbet bar. Our tee gifts were a Tervis Wine Tumbler with our Club logo, an olive press with a 14 page recipe booklet and golf club glass swizzle sticks-we sourced the olive press from Olive Express and they were raved about!!! Sourced swizzle sticks from Swizzle Stick Co., 570-934-1164. Our 1st gross, 1st net and 2nd net prizes were Absolut Vodka bottles in every flavor with ribbon tied around them. The table with the bottles turned out to be the unofficial photo area and everyone loved. I have pictures if there is a way to submit them. If you need more help on the presses/swizzle sticks, post a reply.

can you send me pics of your Get me to the 19th hole guest day? I'm going to use that theme for my June guest day. Thank you. My email is [email protected]

I'd love info on where you found the olive press and recipe booklet. You can email me at [email protected]

can you tell me where to buy olive press and price - what décor did you do for table - great idea Thanks Marilyn email: [email protected]

I would love more details on Get me to the 19th Hole. Did you decorate any of the tee boxes, what did you use for decorating your tables and pictures please. This sounds really fun. In charge of our mini member guest and don't have much money to work with so trying to do something different and something all will be happy with. Thank you. Caretta email: [email protected]

We did a St Andrews theme and called it the St. BCC Open. (My club is Boulder Country Club). From the website myweddingfavors.com, I bought various plaid makeup sized bags which could hold golf gear like lipstick, sunscreen, money, etc. Beautiful silk bags around $8-$12 on sale. Lots of plaid for decor and of course all players wore plaid. Served fish n chips and a classic Scottish sticky toffee pudding.

We held our annual Member Guest tournament at Westlake Golf & Country Club last Thursday, July 21st, 2016 and our theme was the Kentucky Derby! Each foursome was assigned the name of a Kentucky Derby winning horse and associated jockey silk colors. We had betting on WIN, PLACE, and SHOW with a list of the horses and their handicaps. Participants did not know the players associated with each horse. We also conducted a Hat Contest during the luncheon and gave our prizes for best in three categories: Most Glamorous, Craziest, and Closest to our Theme. Everyone got into the spirit and enjoyed the day! Feel free to contact me directly for more information at [email protected]

this sounds like a great idea ..like to try for a Games Day..Please detail more re how you set this up i.e. the groups..what was the game? how you set up the betting? jars? was each player a horse? and this was hidden? thank you for any assistance

Looking for ideas for a guest day at a club under construction for a new clubhouse Any ideas??

Can you provide more information on For Love of Golf idea?

Has anyone ever had a Golf Theme around Art/Art Periods/Famous Artwork? I'm the chair of the 9-holers League and we generally "piggyback" off our 18-holers theme but this year their theme is The Classic Art of Golf. . . and I'm just drawing a blank on something to go along with it.

How about Vincent VanGolf

Then, you might consider using his STARRY NIGHT painting to spin off of...placemats and napkins, golf towel, golf cap, credit card holder, etc.

Did anyone use Partners in Crime theme for Member Guest? Need ideas for tee gifts and decorations. Maybe something with Thelma and Louise or Orange is the new Black? We r having a shoot out so we can use the pistol theme?

Would love to know how to do PAR for the CORPSE for my nine hole league

I'm interested the "Under the Tuscan sun" theme. Does anyone have any ideas for this one? Decorating. Favors. Prizes. games on the course.? Thanks!

Like an idiot, I agreed to Chair our end of season Fun Day. I need ideas that can carry out on the golf course, not too time consuming and not a scramble. Interesting themes I saw were Around the World in 18 Days, Diamonds in the Rough, Par for the Corpse, and Partners in Crime. Help!

We used this theme a few years back. I found a picture book that was 356 days of golf around the world. I selected 18 courses starting in the US going around the world ending in Canada. Had the picture of each course, its name and location, and it’s country’s flag printed on a sign placed on each tee box. The ladies had fun seeing where they were at each tee. Check out the Be The Ball 4U website for cute towels and other gifts. Lunch tables were decorated with flags from around the world.

Has anyone done a tournament themed around April Fool's day?

You’ve Come a Long Way Baby

Anyone out there have any "NEW" ideas for Ladies Member-Guest Tournaments?

With the summer Olympics this year, I would really like that for our member guest theme in July! Like the idea mentioned of dressing with the Olympic Ring colors and each table is a different country. Would love more ideas!!

On each hole you could have a sign that indicates that country's love of golf, or not. How many golf courses, how many golfers in the country. What it costs to play golf 5here. I did this for my inte4natuoald day and inside, each table was a country. There was a bag for each person with an iconic recipe from that country and all the ingredients to Mae it. Inus meat of course but included little packets of the herbs or spices the recipe needed. 8 mad3 those up in advance. They also received an apron with @ map of the world on it. We had balloons of the globe and flags of the country. I made up airline tickets for everyone with their destination. People really enjoyed this event

Themes Everyone will Enjoy

Men, women, and children will enjoy any of the following themes. These ideas work great for everything from a corporate-sponsored tournament to a park district outing.

It typically costs less to rent out a 9-hole course (often available through park districts); Spending less money on big-ticket items like your venue means more money toward your charity of choice.

Event Planning Tips

  • This is a great fundraiser for serious and hobby golfers
  • Secure sponsors for each hole to help offset costs
  • Consider raising funds with an auction or raffle

Disco Fever: A 1970s Flashback

Golfers will reminisce about cultural icons, historical events, and even slang from the infamous disco-infused decade. Break out the disco ball and polyester bell bottoms, and let the golfers boogie after their 70s-themed golf outing.

  • Costume contests are fun, especially when platform shoes and leisure suits are involved.
  • A dance contest featuring the Hustle and the Bus Stop is sure to loosen up any golfer.

Golf Event Photo Tips

The most popular tournament photo is the foursome, which fits perfectly in any horizontal photo folder or frame. Take this group photo before golfers tee off at the first hole.

Other golf event photography options include a photo booth (indoor or outdoor) or an event photographer during drinks and dinner.

Golf photo folder for golf tournament pictures

Bonus Tip! Frame event photos in golf-themed photo folders. These make great event favors, and you can personalize with the event name, as well as sponsor logos.

Whether you have a five-year-old son who likes swinging a toy club, or a 30-year-old who regularly reads Golf Digest , make it a day for the guys. If young golfers are involved, consider letting them tee off at every other hole, or keep it to a 9-hole course.

  • A miniature golf course might be more fun for really young golfers.
  • For scoring with experienced golfers, you can either use the better ball score for each hole or take turns at each hole.

Golf tournament ideas for wildlife-friendly golf courses

Many golf courses are recognized by Audubon International for using eco-friendly groundskeeping practices and providing wildlife sanctuaries. Raise funds for a local wildlife organizations and have participating golfers identify as many animal species as possible throughout the day, giving the winner an eco-friendly prize package.

  • Secure sponsors whose beliefs align with your fundraiser
  • Contact catering companies who specialize in serving local, organic food

Take the professionals back to the basics… at a miniature golf course! Silly obstacles and colorful golf balls are sure to loosen up the pros for a memorable experience. Serve mini food portions for a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

  • Consider renting a hall or park pavilion for after the event
  • This would be a great team building event or company outing
  • Could also be a casual event after your school golf season is over

Country Western Hoedown

Ever made a hole-in-one wearing a cowboy hat or a bolo tie? Greet guests with some good old Hank Williams. End the day with some line dancing, offering prizes to those with the best moves or outfits.

  • Most courses have footwear restrictions, so remind golfers to leave the cowboy boots at home
  • For food, channel your inner cowboy and serve up some hash, fried apples, and cowboy beans

The Lindy Hop, art deco, prohibition… all culturally significant icons of the 1920s. Encourage golfers to dress in period attire, and finish off the day with a jazz ensemble playing music reminiscent of Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington. If professional musicians are out of your budget, consider hiring a local high school or college ensemble.

  • Black and gold are classic art deco colors—even black and gold balloons will add to the art deco vibe
  • For formal events, consider having a cocktail hour
  • A soda fountain is a must for a more casual event

Golf Fundraiser Ideas

  • 50/50 Raffle: Half of the proceeds to charity, the other half to the winner.
  • Silent Auction: See if sponsors or local businesses can donate goods.
  • Business Sponsorships: Sponsor anything: the tournament, the drinks, the golf carts, the holes, or even goods used at the event.
  • Golfer Sponsors: Golfers ask friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor them to raise money for your chosen charity.

Sell lengths of string by the foot to golfers. Many event planners charge $1 per foot. Golfers can then use their string to replace a putt or move their ball a given distance. For example, if you bought 20' of string, you could move your ball 10' toward the hole on the green, and save the other 10' for another shot. An easy idea for golf event fundraising.

  • Don't forget the scissors; when a golfer uses a length of string, that length must be cut off
  • Have representatives from the charity at each hole to cut the string
  • You can also set a length of string to void a stroke

This is a unique way of incorporating sponsors into your event. At each hole, have a representative of from one of your sponsoring companies entertain golfers with mini games, like the "Chip it in…" idea, long drive contest with a kid's plastic club and golf ball, golf history trivia, and more.

  • Comfort first! Provide sponsors with an umbrella, food and drink, and a comfortable chair
  • For longer events, allow sponsors to swtich out representatives midday
  • Let sponsors choose their form of entertainment, but provide them with some guidelines

Casual golf event theme ideas from On The Ball Promotions

The concept is easy: get the ball in the hole. Only the hole isn't what it usually is. It could be a jack-o-lantern, kiddie pool filled with rubber duckies, colorful beach buckets, cowboy hat, golf shoe, or any fun (or funny) object.

  • This doesn't have to be played on a golf course
  • Make it a contest for the least number of shots required
  • Would be a fun company picnic or family reunion game
  • Perfect for golfers of all ages and skill levels

If you feel like throwing your golfers for a loop, have them tee-off wearing oven mitts, putt with a hockey stick or tee-off with a putter and putt with a driver. If you think it will make the golfers laugh, have at it!

  • Event sponsors can show golfers how to tee off at each hole
  • Need some silly inspiration? Just ask a kid how they would tee off.
  • Keep the humor going afterwards with a comedian for the evening entertainment

Fun and memorable golf event theme ideas for golf tournaments and outings

Even the best golfers need a second chance every now and then. For charity fundraising golf events, charge golfers a set amount for mulligans.

  • This idea can work well within any other theme, like disco or even on top of another fundraisier
  • Keep it fair by limiting the number of mulligans a golfer can redeem
  • Alternatively, increase the price for each mulligan redeemed

Fun Golf Event Themes for Women

While any of the themes here would work for a women's-only golf event, there are some that the ladies will truly enjoy. Read on for some inspiration on making your ladies day on the golf course one to really remember.

Host the event on a short 9-hole course to ensure plenty of time for rest, relaxation, and reminiscing after some time golfing together. Invite local massage therapists, nail salon beauticians, and health food chefs for the complete spa experience.

  • If the course doesn't allow for spa-like accomodations, consider renting out a local spa for a few hours after the event
  • We don't all live by a beach, but if you do, consider renting a tent on or by the beach for the serene water views

Custom ivory logo note cards

Event Thank You Cards

Thank sponsors, events planners, or donors with a personalized note card. Foil stamped ivory notecards are simple and classic.

Desserts for women's golf tournament and bazaar

Golf & Bazaar for Women

Make it a girls' day out! After they've played a round of golf, invite the women to a mini bazaar in the clubhouse with handmade crafts, desserts, wine, and jewelry for a memorable outing. Invite local artisans and bakers to contribute their goods to the event.

  • Turn your bazaar into a fundraiser by asking vendors to donate a small percentage of their sales to your charity
  • For another fundraising idea, bazaars and raffles often go hand-in-hand
  • To entice vendors, give them a discounted rate if they want to play the course

From pink feather boas to zebra prints, get together with the girls on the golf course for a diva's day out. Invite an event photographer to snap pictures of the ladies in action, sending them all home with personalized picture frames to help them remember their fun-filled day.

  • Remember, everyone loves a photo booth!
  • Hold a contest for the most wildly dressed diva
  • Can't afford a Hollywood actor for a photo op? A cardboard cutout might be the next best thing, plus it will surely provide a bit of humor.

A little tea, a little crazy, a lot of fun! The Mad Hatter Tea Party theme is taking the party and event industry by storm, so why not bring it to the golf course? Dress up in your Alice in Wonderland best, and end the day with a tea party that will be the talk of the town.

  • If it's nice weather, have your tea party on the patio or on the lawn under a colorful canopy
  • Decorate your tables with fancy teapots and cups of all colors and sizes
  • If the course allows, put a few lawn flamingos at each hole

Golf Event Sponsor Tip

When budgeting for your event, sponsors are your best friends. Appeal to more potential sponsors by offering different levels of sponsorship. And remember, don't limit sponsorships to just money; tournament sponsors can also donate goods or services.

While golfing in grass skirts may not be an option, a decorative hibiscus flower pinned in your hair on on your hat is a nice, tropical touch. Have a mini trivia quiz every other hole. Winner gets a lei. Golfer with the most leis after 18 holes wins a grand prize!

  • Cover tables with a green table cloth and wrap a grass skirt around the edge
  • Contact a local florist for tropical floral centerpieces
  • Tropical drinks are a must!

Make it a Glamorous Cocktail Party

The golfing is fun, but the cocktail party is when you really get to kick up your heels, right? Dress up your reception hall like a black tie affair, with luxurious black or white satin or linen table cloths, ornamental centerpiece candle vases, and an elegant food display—complete with silver serving dishes.

  • Silver, gold, and glass accent pieces add some sparkle to your event setting
  • Tealight candles add a nice, warm, subtle touch to any centerpiece setup

Make it a Casual Cocktail Party

If glitz and glam isn't your style, go the route of tropical drinks with those cute little umbrellas for a decorative touch. Keep the finger food small and simple, decorations bright and colorful.

  • A bouquet of helium-filled balloons makes a big, colorful centerpiece or decoration
  • This would be perfect for a mother-daughter event (with kid-friendly beverages, of course!)

Bottle hanger for golf events | Promotional beer bottle saver

Save your drinks with Bottle Hangers

Custom printed bottle tags are a great place for golf tournament sponsors to advertise—and they let servers and busboys know that this golfer isn't yet done with their drink.

Shop bottle hangers ➜

You want glitz and glam? This is the theme for you. Visit your local party store and go wild with glitter, silver confetti, and satin ribbons. Oh, and everyone gets a tiara!

  • It's ok to bling out your tee markers with a Bedazzler
  • For the centerpiece, put a clear, decorative floral vase with candle on a small, round mirror

Channel your inner Phileas Fogg! Mark each hole with a flag from a different country. Serve lunch or dinner fare from around the world, including a description for those who are curious.

  • Event invitations can be designed like a passport or vintage airmail envelope
  • Centerpiece idea: Paper maché a hot air balloon, attach to a small basket with wire wrapped in jute
  • Create an open-air photo booth with a world map as the backdrop

Golf Event Advertising Tips

Print an invitation and mail it to club or community members, alumni, or coworkers. Design your golf tournament invites and we'll print them!

The red carpet, the fame, the glamorous lifestyle… if they can have it in Hollywood, you can have it on your golf course! Have ladies walk the red carpet to start the course, complete with a photo op. Dress up the cocktail party with faux diamonds, crystals, and upscale dinnerware.

  • Put event sponsor logos on Hollywod star tee markers
  • Invite golfers to dress up as their favorite star, including the classics like Bette Davis or Elizabeth Taylor
  • Puttin' 9 to 5 (or Drivin' or Chippin'—take your pick!)
  • Bonnie and Clyde—a great theme for a couple's golf tournament
  • Breakfast at Tiffany's
  • Swingin' in the Rain
  • Rhinestone Cowgirl
  • Golf, Girl, Golf—a nice play on Hollywood's 1940 blockbuster Dance, Girl, Dance
  • Oh, Pretty Woman
  • Girls Just Want to Have Fun
  • Dancing in the Green
  • Margaritaville

  • School Pride: Wear Your Alma Mater's Colors

Women's Golf Event Theme Ideas, including breast cancer awareness, movies, and music

Women’s Golf Tournament Theme Ideas

At Studio Style, we design, manufacture, and personalize a lot of golf tournament photo folders and frames every year. We’ve talked to a lot of golf tournament organizers, and helped them design picture frames for their events.

We see a lot of tournaments with a name, but no theme. It’s usually something like a scholarship fund, alumni raising money for a school, or a memorial event with fundraising dollars going toward research or helping families pay off expensive medical treatments.

But then sometimes we see a theme come through that really catches our eye. Themed golf events often double as fundraisers; the theme just helps make it a little more memorable.

So we’ve dug through our files and found some of the most memorable, most fun, and sometimes most quirky themes for women’s golf events.

Happy planning!

Women’s golf event themes inspired by music, movies, and books

Fundraiser golf event theme ideas for women

If you’re planning a golf fundraising event, you can incorporate any theme you wish. However, there are some plays on words that fit specific fundraisers and awareness events.

Breast Cancer Awareness

Whether your club or group is involved with Play for P.I.N.K. or you’re planning your own event, here are some clever themes for breast cancer awareness fundraising golf events:

  • Pretty in Pink
  • Golfing for the Girls
  • Pink Out Party
  • Golf for a Cure
  • Get Your Pink On
  • I Pink I Can, I Pink I Can
  • Fasten Your Pink Ribbon
  • Save the Girls

If you’re planning an event like this, check out our pink ribbon photo folder or our pink watercolor photo folder .

Golf memorial fundraiser themes

There is no way to define a specific list of themes for memorial golf events. However, one clever way to “theme” the event would be to honor the person or group of people the tournament is in memory of.

For example, if they loved watching football, make it a tailgate theme. Were they a glam diva? Incorporate those elements. When planning the event, have a brainstorming session to come up with some ideas as to what that person was passionate about, and what difference they made.

What’s your women’s golf event theme?

We just had our member guest tournament snd the theme was Swing With Bling. 92 women and most had Bling Shirts, Skirts, or Hats. It was so much fun. I tried to post a picture here but could not.

Last month we had casino day on the course. The outfits for that were fantastic.

Themes make the golfing so much fun.

Go On a Wild Adventure with These Safari Theme Party Ideas

Safari theme party: jungle themed birthday cake

For a little explorer, there’s simply no better way to celebrate than a safari theme party. Whether you’re hosting a 1st birthday party or a birthday slumber party for tweens, it’s a theme that you can really bring to life with impressive decor, styling, and treats.

If you’re ready to host one of the best safari or jungle theme party events of the year, we’re here to help. Get inspiration for your safari theme party with these decor, food, activity, and invitation ideas.

10 Adventurous Safari Theme Party Ideas

Safari theme party: Sweet Lion Invitation

Design: Noonday Design

You can really go wild with a safari theme party and transform your space into something magical. Here are some of our favorite safari theme party ideas for decor, activities, food, favors, and more.

1. Make It a Costume Party

If you’re inviting lots of wild ones along to your safari theme party, this is a must-have. Take your birthday party idea to the next level by turning it into a costume party.

Ask your party animals to join you dressed up as their favorite zoo animal or safari creature. Keep it open and let them choose their own costume, or ask people to take an everyday T-shirt and customize it with animal prints or designs to show off their creativity.

2. Host a Safari-Themed Sleepover Party

We love a sleepover or slumber party , and it feels like this is one of those themes that’s perfect for it. Celebrate an animal birthday or safari get-together by asking your guests to stay overnight and stay up late.

Transform your living space or bedroom into a safari camp with beautifully styled mini tents, or ask people to bring along a sleeping bag for a more rustic feel. Add some themed party decor like balloon garlands, strings of faux leaves, or animal cutouts to really enhance the experience.

3. Go Wild with Animal Print

What better excuse than a safari theme party to go a little over the top with animal print birthday party decorations? There’s something fun about layering plenty of prints together to create a zany, unique take on the jungle party theme.

Look for tableware, table covers, party plates, and more safari theme party supplies that heavily feature animal print. Keep it all to one type — like leopard print — or mix in some zebra or giraffe print for a more eclectic look.

4. Transform Your Space into a Jungle

This idea takes a little more planning and plenty of safari party supplies, but it’s well worth it for a special birthday or occasion.

Layer hanging backdrops filled with palm leaves or tree-themed fabric, and hang earth-toned balloons, cutouts, or decorations from your ceiling. Invest in some color-changing bulbs to add a cozy glow or create a sunset effect, and add natural textiles and animal decorations to complete the look.

5. Fill Your Party Venue with Jungle Safari Animals

When it comes to planning the ultimate safari theme party, you can’t go wrong with plenty of jungle animals. Whether you fill the space with them, or hide them around as a fun mini game for the kids, it’s a super fun way to bring the theme to life.

Use animal cutouts to create an adorable photo booth area, or feature tiny toy jungle animals as part of a themed centerpiece or table decoration. How and where you display the animals is up to you, but it wouldn’t be a safari theme party without them.

6. Host a Jungle Obstacle Course

If you’re looking for something to tire out your wild ones, a jungle-themed obstacle course is a wonderfully interactive idea. It’s an ideal activity for kids of all ages, and you can tailor it to your theme, group, or event type.

You can create your own obstacle course using everyday objects like couch cushions or hula hoops, or invest in an inflatable obstacle course for a big milestone birthday celebration. However you choose to do it, this is a great way to use up some of that energy ahead of cake time.

7. Set Up a DIY Crafting Area

Create a space where younger guests can relax (and still be creative) with a crafting area. Set up a party table somewhere away from the noise and offer your guests fun ways to engage in themed crafts. Download printable animal coloring pages, or find the instructions and materials for a DIY safari craft for kids . It’s a sweet way to offer a place to calm down while still having plenty of fun.

8. Splash Out on a Safari Theme Birthday Cake

If you’re putting on a safari theme party for a birthday celebration, you’ll need a cake that fits the occasion. Whether you opt for an expertly baked masterpiece or a homemade treasure with an adorable cake topper, it’s sure to be one of the guests’ highlights.

You can take a jungle theme cake in a variety of directions. Choose a simple sponge cake and add a personalized cake topper, or go minimal and stylish with a giant palm leaf design. Think about what the guest of honor would love to see as you all sing “happy birthday.”

9. Give Your Birthday Buffet a Safari Theme Twist

Buffets are great for a kids’ birthday party because people can pick their favorite snacks and treats without too much going to waste. It’s perfect for those picky little eaters who just want to fill a plate with cheese, crackers, or cocktail sausages.

To liven up your birthday buffet, give your foods a safari twist. These monkey sandwiches are adorable, and this giraffe cake dessert board is a gorgeous way to get your guests enjoying lots of fresh fruit. For snacks, a jungle safari trail mix is easy to make and works great as a sleepover midnight treat.

10. Create Themed Party Favor Bags

Your safari theme party is turning out to be epic, so you’ll want party favors that live up to the same hype as your main event. Luckily, you can put together goodie bags that match this theme quickly, easily, and affordably.

Choose a favor bag or box with a safari theme or animal print design, then add in a few classic items like stickers, candy, and bubbles. For an extra treat, send your guests home with a safari animal cupcake or a personalized animal pencil or coloring set.

Golf Outing Themes

When it comes to planning a golf outing, choosing the right theme can make the event even more memorable and enjoyable for all participants. Let’s explore some exciting and unique themes that will add a touch of fun and excitement to your golf outing.

Hawaiian Luau

Imagine stepping onto the golf course and being transported to a tropical paradise. A Hawaiian luau theme is perfect for those who want to experience a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere while enjoying a round of golf. Decorate the venue with vibrant floral decorations, tiki torches, and colorful leis. Encourage participants to dress in their best Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts. Alongside the golfing activities, offer traditional Hawaiian food such as poi, kalua pig, and fresh fruit. You can even hire hula dancers to entertain the crowd and teach a few moves. With the Hawaiian luau theme, your golf outing will feel like a mini vacation in paradise.

Roaring 20s Speakeasy

Step back in time to the era of the Roaring 20s with a speakeasy-themed golf outing. Recreate the ambiance of the Prohibition era by transforming the venue into a secret underground speakeasy. Adorn the space with vintage decor, such as feather boas, jazz music, and black and white photos. Encourage participants to dress up in elegant 1920s attire, complete with flapper dresses and fedora hats. As for the golf activities, incorporate elements of the era, such as using vintage golf clubs and playing with old-fashioned golf balls. After the game, celebrate the end of the Prohibition with classic cocktails and a jazz band. This theme will transport your guests to a bygone era filled with glamour and excitement.

Sports Team Rivalry

For those who love a little friendly competition, a sports team rivalry theme is sure to ignite the competitive spirit. Divide the participants into teams representing different sports teams or even college rivalries. Encourage them to dress in their team’s colors and display their team pride throughout the event. Create a tournament format that allows teams to compete against each other, with prizes for the winning team at the end. Incorporate sports-themed activities and challenges throughout the golf course, such as basketball-inspired putting challenges or football-style long drive contests. This theme will not only bring out the competitive side of your participants but also foster a sense of camaraderie and team spirit.

Tropical Paradise

If you want to transport your golf outing to a lush and exotic destination, a tropical paradise theme is the way to go. Transform the venue into a tropical oasis with palm trees, colorful flowers, and beach-inspired decorations. Encourage participants to dress in their best resort wear, complete with floral prints and flip flops. Offer refreshing tropical drinks, like piña coladas and mai tais, to quench everyone’s thirst during the game. You can even set up beach-themed activities on the golf course, such as hitting shots into inflatable palm tree targets or navigating through mini sand traps. With the tropical paradise theme, your golf outing will be a relaxing and fun-filled escape to a beach resort.

Incorporating a theme into your golf outing adds an element of excitement and engagement for all participants. Whether you choose the laid-back vibe of a Hawaiian luau, the elegance of a Roaring 20s speakeasy, the competitive spirit of a sports team rivalry, or the tropical getaway of a paradise theme, your golf outing is sure to be a hit. So, get creative, plan your theme, and make your golf outing an unforgettable experience for all involved.

With its smaller scale and fun-filled environment, a miniature golf tournament is sure to bring laughter and enjoyment to all.

Longest Drive Contest

Do you have some golfers in your group who are known for their powerful swings? Why not put their skills to the test with a longest drive contest? Set up a designated hole and let the participants showcase their strength and accuracy. The excitement builds as each golfer takes their turn, trying to outdo the others and claim the title of the longest drive champion.

Putting Challenge

Putt, putt, and score! A putting challenge is a great way to test the precision and finesse of your golfers. Set up a series of putting stations with various levels of difficulty and let the participants show off their skills. From short putts to long-range shots, the putting challenge is a crowd favorite that adds a touch of friendly competition to your golf outing.

Golf Ball Hunt

Who doesn’t love a good treasure hunt? Organize a golf ball hunt as part of your golf outing and watch the excitement unfold. Not only does the golf ball hunt add an element of surprise and adventure, but it also gives golfers the opportunity to explore the course in a whole new way.

Incorporating these unique golf activities into your outing will create an unforgettable experience for all participants. Whether it’s the friendly competition of a miniature golf tournament, the showcase of power in a longest drive contest, the precision required in a putting challenge, or the thrill of a golf ball hunt, these activities are sure to bring joy and excitement to your event. Fun Golf Formats

Golf outings are not only about showcasing your skills on the course but also about having a fun and enjoyable experience with your fellow players. To make your golf outing memorable, it’s essential to choose the right format that adds an element of excitement and friendly competition. Here are some fun golf formats that will keep everyone engaged and entertained throughout the event.

Scramble Tournament

The scramble tournament format is a popular choice for golf outings as it encourages teamwork and allows golfers of all skill levels to participate. In a scramble tournament, each team consists of four players who work together to achieve the best possible score on each hole. After each player hits their tee shot, the team selects the best shot and all players then play their next shot from that spot. This process continues until the ball is holed.

The beauty of a scramble tournament is that it eliminates the pressure of individual performance and emphasizes collaboration. It allows players to strategize and make the most of each other’s strengths. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or a beginner, the scramble format ensures that everyone has a chance to contribute to the team’s success.

  • Some key features of a scramble tournament:
  • Encourages teamwork and collaboration.
  • Suitable for golfers of all skill levels.
  • Reduces individual pressure.
  • Provides opportunities for strategic decision-making.

Best Ball Competition

If you’re looking for a format that combines individual performance with team dynamics, a best ball competition is a fantastic choice. In this format, each player plays their own ball throughout the round, and the team’s score for each hole is determined by the lowest score among the team members. This means that even if one player struggles on a hole, the team can still rely on the strong performance of the other players.

The best ball competition format adds an element of competitiveness as each player aims to contribute their best score to the team. It allows for individual achievements while still fostering a sense of camaraderie among team members. This format is particularly suitable for groups with golfers of varying skill levels, as it ensures that everyone’s contribution is valued.

  • Some key features of a best ball competition:
  • Combines individual performance with team dynamics.
  • Relies on the lowest score among team members.
  • Encourages friendly competition.
  • Suitable for groups with golfers of varying skill levels.

Alternate Shot Match

The alternate shot match format is a unique and challenging way to spice up your golf outing. In this format, teams of two players compete against each other, taking turns hitting the same ball. One player tees off on the odd-numbered holes, while the other tees off on the even-numbered holes. After the tee shot, the players alternate shots until the ball is holed.

This format requires excellent communication and coordination between teammates as they strategize and decide which player should take each shot. It adds an element of suspense and unpredictability, keeping everyone on their toes throughout the round. The alternate shot match format is a great way to strengthen bonds between teammates and create lasting memories on the course.

  • Some key features of an alternate shot match:
  • Teams of two players compete against each other.
  • Requires communication and coordination between teammates.
  • Adds suspense and unpredictability to the round.
  • Strengthens bonds between teammates.

For those who love a bit of risk and reward, the skins game format is an excellent choice. In this format, each hole is assigned a value, and the player who has the lowest score on a hole wins the “skin” for that hole. If multiple players tie for the lowest score, the skin carries over to the next hole, increasing the stakes.

The skins game format adds excitement and competitiveness to your golf outing. It encourages players to go for it and take calculated risks to secure the coveted skins. Whether you’re a long hitter looking to dominate the par-5s or a precise iron player aiming for pinpoint accuracy, the skins game format brings out the best in every golfer.

  • Some key features of a skins game:
  • Each hole has a value, and the lowest score wins the skin.
  • Increased stakes for consecutive tied holes.
  • Encourages risk-taking and strategic play.
  • Brings out the best in every golfer.

Want to add an element of wonder and amazement to your golf outing? Consider hiring a magician or illusionist to perform mind-boggling tricks and illusions. Invite a selection of local food trucks to set up shop near the clubhouse or at designated spots throughout the golf course. From delectable tacos and gourmet burgers to mouthwatering desserts and artisanal ice creams, the options are endless. This allows participants to explore different flavors and cuisines, creating a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere. Additionally, the variety of food truck options ensures that everyone can find something they love, regardless of their dietary preferences.

Signature Cocktails

To add a touch of creativity and sophistication to your golf outing, consider offering signature cocktails. Craft a menu of unique and refreshing drinks that reflect the spirit and theme of the event. For example, you could create a “Hole-in-One” cocktail featuring a blend of tropical fruits and a splash of rum to evoke a sense of a tropical paradise. Another option could be a “Golfers’ G&T” with a twist of cucumber and mint to provide a refreshing and invigorating experience. Don’t forget to include non-alcoholic mocktails for those who prefer a lighter option. By offering signature cocktails, you create an opportunity for participants to unwind and socialize, further enhancing the overall enjoyment of the golf outing.

Golf Outing Fundraising Ideas

Are you hosting a golf outing and looking for creative ways to raise funds for your cause? Look no further! In this section, we will explore some exciting fundraising ideas that will not only engage your participants but also contribute to the success of your event. From silent auctions to charity golf marathons, we have got you covered.

Silent Auction

A silent auction is a fantastic way to raise funds while adding an element of excitement to your golf outing. Picture this: beautiful tables adorned with an array of enticing items and experiences. As your participants stroll through, their eyes light up with anticipation. From luxury vacations to signed sports memorabilia, the possibilities are endless.

To make your silent auction a success, it’s important to curate a diverse range of items that will appeal to a wide audience. Reach out to local businesses, restaurants, and individuals in your community to secure donations. These could include gift certificates, exclusive experiences, or even unique items relevant to the world of golf.

During the golf outing, create an inviting space where participants can browse the items and place their bids. Consider using bid sheets or electronic platforms to streamline the process. Don’t forget to promote the auction beforehand, generating buzz and encouraging participants to arrive ready to bid!

Raffle Prizes

Who doesn’t love the thrill of a raffle? Add an element of excitement to your golf outing by organizing a raffle with enticing prizes. Raffles are an excellent way to engage participants of all ages and boost your fundraising efforts.

To get started, gather a selection of desirable prizes that will capture the interest of your attendees. These could range from high-value items to smaller, yet equally appealing, offerings. Consider partnering with local businesses or sponsors who may be willing to donate prizes in exchange for exposure or recognition.

To sell raffle tickets, set up designated stations throughout the golf course and clubhouse. Make it convenient for participants to purchase tickets, whether it’s through volunteers or digital platforms. Encourage participants to buy multiple tickets, increasing their chances of winning.

During the golf outing, announce the raffle winners at a designated time, creating a buzz of anticipation. Remember to thank all participants for their support and highlight how their contributions will make a difference to your cause.

Hole Sponsorships

Hole sponsorships are an effective way to generate funds while providing visibility to businesses and organizations that support your cause. By offering companies the opportunity to sponsor individual holes on the golf course, you create a win-win situation for all involved.

Reach out to local businesses, corporations, and community organizations to explain the benefits of hole sponsorships. These benefits may include signage at the sponsored hole, recognition in event materials, and the opportunity to interact with participants during the golf outing.

Consider offering different sponsorship levels to accommodate various budgets. This could range from a basic hole sponsorship to a premium package that includes additional perks such as branded merchandise or exclusive networking opportunities.

During the golf outing, ensure that each sponsored hole is prominently marked with the sponsor’s logo or signage. This not only showcases their support but also adds a professional touch to the event. Don’t forget to publicly acknowledge and thank each sponsor at the end of the outing, highlighting their contribution to the success of your fundraising efforts.

Charity Golf Marathon

Are you ready to take your fundraising efforts to the next level? Consider organizing a charity golf marathon! This unique and endurance-focused event will not only captivate participants but also create a buzz within your community.

A charity golf marathon involves participants playing multiple rounds of golf in a single day or over a specific period. To participate, golfers gather pledges and donations from their network of family, friends, and colleagues. These pledges can be based on the number of holes played, birdies achieved, or any other agreed-upon criteria.

To make your charity golf marathon a success, create an engaging atmosphere with various activities and incentives along the way. Set up rest stations offering refreshments and snacks to keep participants energized. Consider incorporating mini-games or challenges at certain holes to add an element of excitement and friendly competition.

Promote your charity golf marathon well in advance, leveraging social media, local publications, and word-of-mouth to maximize participation and support. Encourage participants to share their journey and progress throughout the event, creating a sense of community and camaraderie.

At the end of the marathon, celebrate the achievements of your participants and publicly announce the total amount raised. Highlight the impact their efforts will have on your cause, reinforcing the importance of their contributions.

Golf Outing Giveaways

When it comes to organizing a successful golf outing, giveaways play a crucial role in adding excitement and creating a memorable experience for the participants. In this section, we will explore some fantastic ideas for golf outing giveaways that are sure to impress your guests. From custom golf balls to golf towels, golf umbrellas, and golf tees and ball markers, we’ve got you covered with a variety of options to choose from.

Custom Golf Balls

One of the most popular and practical giveaways for a golf outing is custom golf balls. These personalized golf balls not only make a great keepsake for the participants but also serve as a promotional tool for your event or organization. Imagine the delight on the golfers’ faces when they receive a set of golf balls with their name or the event logo engraved on them.

Custom golf balls allow you to showcase your creativity and brand identity. You can choose to have your logo, a special message, or even a unique design printed on the golf balls. This gives your golf outing a personalized touch and makes it stand out from the rest. Moreover, custom golf balls come in various colors, allowing you to match them with your event theme or branding.

Golf Towels

Another practical and popular giveaway option for a golf outing is golf towels. These towels not only serve as a useful accessory on the golf course but also provide an opportunity to promote your event or organization. Golf towels can be customized with your logo or event branding, making them a walking advertisement for your golf outing.

Golf towels come in different sizes and materials, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your needs. Whether you opt for a small towel to attach to a golf bag or a larger towel for wiping clubs and hands, golfers will appreciate this thoughtful giveaway. Additionally, golf towels can be made from high-quality materials that are soft, absorbent, and durable, ensuring that they will be used and cherished by the participants for a long time.

Golf Umbrellas

When it comes to golf outings, unpredictable weather can sometimes dampen the spirits of the participants. That’s where golf umbrellas come to the rescue. A golf umbrella is not only a practical accessory on the golf course but also a fantastic giveaway that will be highly appreciated by the participants.

Golf umbrellas can be customized with your event logo or branding, making them a walking billboard for your golf outing. They provide ample coverage to protect golfers from rain, wind, or even harsh sunlight. By providing golf umbrellas as giveaways, you ensure that your participants stay dry and comfortable throughout the event, regardless of the weather conditions.

Golf Tees and Ball Markers

Golf tees and ball markers may seem like small and simple items, but they are essential accessories for any golfer. These items not only enhance the golfing experience but also make for great giveaways at a golf outing. You can never have too many golf tees or ball markers, so participants will undoubtedly appreciate receiving these practical gifts.

Golf tees come in various lengths and materials, allowing golfers to choose the one that suits their playing style. By providing golf tees as giveaways, you ensure that the participants have an ample supply of tees for their future rounds of golf. Similarly, ball markers are used to mark the position of a golfer’s ball on the green. Personalized ball markers with your event logo or branding add a special touch to the participants’ golfing experience.

Remember, the key to a successful golf outing giveaway is personalization. Customizing these items with your event logo or branding ensures that they become cherished keepsakes and promotional tools. So, go ahead and make your golf outing a truly unforgettable experience with these fantastic giveaways.

Go wild with these 15 safari theme party ideas

A table set for a children’s birthday party with giraffe and lion figurines as centerpieces, green and orange balloons, and party hats at each place setting.

July 29, 2023

Does your little explorer spend all their time slashing through the dense jungle in the backyard with their pretend machete? Or maybe their room looks like a wildlife refuge with all their ferocious stuffed safari animals. If either of those descriptions sounds like your child, then we’ve got the perfect birthday party theme for you.

With a safari theme birthday party , your mini adventurer is guaranteed to have a ferociously good time while also showing off their love for nature. Keep reading for more safari theme party ideas than there are zebras on the savannah.

Plan a journey to the wilderness… or to the backyard

You know that a safari theme birthday party would be perfect for your little animal lover—but what exactly does the party planning look like? There are a ton of exciting options to make this next birthday a special one, both at home or out in the wild. Here are some ideas to add a bit of adventure to your safari birthday party.

1. Visit a local zoo or wildlife center

Zookeepers actually make great party hosts, especially when they bring some of their furry (or scaled) friends for each guest to take a look at. Plus, they often have party rooms you can rent out where the explorers can enjoy safari snacks on-site.

2. Create a backyard safari

In many places, it’s possible to hire an exotic animal handler who will visit your home with their menagerie. Your little adventurer will never forget the birthday they hung out with a boa constrictor!

3. Plan a wild dress code

For your safari theme party idea, encourage guests to show up in animal masks, animal prints, or full-on costumes of their favorite beasts.

Due to the *nature* of a safari theme birthday party, there’s a good chance that it includes some kind of outdoor element. But what if the weather isn’t cooperative? Hardy adventurers won’t let a little rain or snow stop them… but it might stop your birthday plans. Luckily, there are plenty of fun safari activities you can plan for indoors.

4. Put on a movie

There are so many fun animal movies to choose from. Might we suggest “Madagascar,” “The Lion King,” or “The Jungle Book”?

5. Play some games

Whether you’re playing Monkey in the Middle or Sleeping Lions , plan some fun kids’ birthday party games to have everyone feeling like a true party animal, indoors or out.

6. Create some safari crafts

With a few simple party supplies, you can set up a safari craft station where your young guests can make their own artistic safari animals.

Safari-themed party supplies are available at Paperless Post Party Shop .

Decorations for a wild safari party.

Whether you’re hosting at home or elsewhere, you’ll want the venue to give off serious jungle vibes for your safari-themed party. Seek out garlands and streamers that look like vines, and balloons in varying shades of greens and browns. Some other decoration options to consider include the following.

7. A fun garland to set the mood

Set the mood by inspiring guests to Party like an animal with this decorative garland , featuring an elephant wearing a party hat.

8. An animal-shaped pinata

Fill this cheeta party pinata from Paperless Post Party Shop with treats for the kids to enjoy.

9. Creature-shaped plates

From animal print plates to plates shaped like animals , themed plates help bring your safari theme to life.

10. Animal-inspired costumes

Get into the safari spirit with safari animal print party hats and lion masks .

11. Delightful safari-themed party favors

Thank your guests for a roarin’ good time by sending them home with safari print party bags filled with trinkets like temporary animal tattoos .

Feeding hungry safari explorers (aka partygoers)

Of course, a day spent exploring will leave your guests licking their chops and circling the birthday cake like it’s a water buffalo. So, what kind of food does one serve at a safari-themed birthday bash? Animals eat all kinds of things, but these explorers will probably have a taste for cakes and treats, above all else.

12. The birthday cake

Maybe it’s shaped like your child’s favorite jungle animal or decorated with a scene from the safari of their dreams. Also, some animal candles make the perfect topper.

13. Cupcake decorating kit

For desserts that can double as an activity, have your guests decorate cupcakes with animal-themed toppers .

14. Animal tail treats

We love this idea of decorating chocolate-covered pretzel rods to look like tiger tails!

15. Veggies… but shaped like a lion

For a healthy snack, you can make a safari-themed veggie tray by using a dip (like hummus or ranch) as a lion’s face and surrounding it with peppers and carrots to form a lion’s mane.

A child’s birthday party invitation with a boy’s photo in the center surrounded by safari animals including a lion, giraffe, zebra, hippo, crocodile, and more.

Wording for an adventurous invite

Once you’ve picked out your favorite safari-themed invites , it’s time to invite your child’s fellow adventurers with the perfect birthday invitations . If you’re more of a Tarzan than a Jane and have trouble choosing the right words, consider the below examples for your kids’ birthday invitations to get those creative juices flowing.

Safari Party Ideas And Party Decorations

Take a walk on the wild side and create an immersive jungle safari experience guaranteed to make your children roar with excitement at the party!

Wild Adventure

Safari Decor Ideas

When it comes to putting together a jungle-themed party, an animal print will always reign supreme. Colors for decorations should be bright and joyful, such as orange, purple, magenta, green, royal blue, and red. If you wish to use flowers in your party decoration, wildflowers such as hibiscus blossoms, sunflowers, and orchids should be the priority.  Animal-themed cutlery, such as party bear-printed napkins, party giraffe-printed cups, and party tiger-printed tablecloths, can be used to give the entire décor a jungle feel.

Get Wild Costumes

Animal Print Costume

You should ask your invited friends to dress up in their most exotic jungle-themed outfits for the party.  It will be a lot of fun. It will be even more enjoyable if you greet your guests with safari party animal-printed and shaped hats.

Linen pants, khakis, and a bush jacket can be worn to the party. Anything that goes with the safari theme will work. With visitors dressed in vivid safari exotic clothes, the celebration will be more exciting.

Safari Party Food

Jungle Themed Food

Foods for a jungle-themed party should also be decorated differently with the overall theme. Cupcakes with mint green frosting are ideal for any such celebration. Safari Cupcakes decorated in the shape of a pink lioness or blue elephants will go well with the theme. Treats for the occasion may include pretzels with jungle log labels and peanuts as animal snacks. Safari Monkey goodies can be served with a bowl of fresh bananas and gummy snakes on the sides of the bowel.

Make your event flavorful and Delicious

You should also set up an area with a variety of flavored, colorful soft drinks. You can provide safari jungle juice or cocktails as drinks at adult events, such as lime juice, rum, and pineapple slices. However, alcohol-free soft drinks and lemonades should be served to children.

Jungle Snacks

You can also customize your food and give each of them a Jungle name:

  • Safari Jungle Juice – Any fruit punch colored red or green
  • Snake Eggs – Cooked and cooled hard-boiled eggs.
  • Lion Burgers – Huge hamburgers
  • Safari Cub Sandwiches – Mini club sandwiches with the kid’s favorite fillings
  • Snake Straws – Homemade cheesy straws twisted into wiggly shapes
  • Animal Safari Cup Cakes – Make Cupcakes and decorate them with icing or edible animal decorations
  • Animal Safari Cookies – Use animal cookie cutters to make biscuits and decorate them with colored icing.
  • Safari Parrot Lollies – Make multi-colored Ice Pops using different colored fruit juices. Great for cooling down those jungle explorers

Let the Safari Jungle Party Fun Begins!

Safari games and activities.

Fun Jungle Party

An interactive idea for keeping children busy and playful simultaneously is safari fun activities. Engage your little ones in activities like playing with hula hoops, sack races, and sorting similar objects or animal charades. You can tailor the activities to suit your theme, age group, or event type.

Jungle Party Animal Hunt

Have a helper hide stuffed jungle animals or little plastic animal figurines in the party area. On “Go”, the children must find the number that you specify (such as find 1, find 3, etc.) and bring them to you.

Bean Bag Toss

“Feed” bean bags to a tiger or other safari animal drawn on posterboard with a hole for their mouth.

Tiger, Tiger, Lion

Played like Duck, and Duck Goose, but use the words Tiger, Tiger, Lion instead!

Zoo Animal Tug of War

Have a game of tug of war, with kids pretending to be different animals.

Animal Charades

Select one child to be “It” and stand up in front of the group. Tell “It” to think of an animal, and then act out what the animal does. The kids try to guess what animal it is. For young children, provide them with an idea of the animal.

Ten Crazy Golf Theme Ideas for Your Business

Choosing a theme for your miniature golf course is a really important step when it comes to design. Your chosen theme will help you to decide what features you are going to need and what your overall aesthetic is going to be. For example, if you had a pirate theme, you are likely to have water features and pirate-themed props and accessories.

Your theme is going to represent your brand as it is the first thing that people will notice when they visit. It is also likely going to be at the front of your business marketing and promotion as well, so it needs to be well thought out and planned. The theme that you choose should be enticing to the public for these reasons.

The vision that you have in mind for your miniature golf course is going to be limited by budget, so you would need to greatly consider this when deciding on your theme. If you plan and design an extremely elaborate theme, yet don’t have the funds to fulfil the ideas, then you are going to come up short. You should consider how much money you have available to you before even beginning to plan your theme.

There are also many businesses that have had a very successful theme which meant that they had the opportunity to expand their company to multiple locations and offer different themes for each course. Choosing a name for your course is important as it is going to convey the idea of your overall theme. It may be a good idea to have one overall business name and then a specific theme related name for the actual crazy golf course, so that you aren’t limiting your potential expansion opportunities by being limited to one theme.

When designing a miniature golf course theme, you should consider:

  • Colours – Theme specific.
  • Features – Water fountains, waterfalls, rivers, caves.
  • Sculptures – People, animals, creatures.
  • Sound effects – Animal sounds, rumbling, music.
  • Lighting effects – Strobe lights, fluorescent, flames, LED, lasers.
  • Special effects – Shaking, animatronics.
  • Accessibility – Potential wheelchair access.
  • Additional extras – Café, restaurant, movie screening.

Idea 1 – Pirates Cove

Pirates seem to be a very popular theme in the mini-golf industry. From shipwrecks to water features, pirate themes offer the ability to use some elaborate accessories to go with the theme. Pirate themes are family-friendly and attract people of all ages. You could even install speakers to play adventurous music tracks to accompany your chosen aesthetic.

Idea 2 – Volcano Bay

The theme idea ‘volcano bay’ immediately sparks a vision of creative scenery and visual effects. Volcano replicas combined with rumbling effects would really help to bring this idea to life in a creative manner. You want to create a course that will keep people coming back and so the more interactive you can make this theme, the better. It may be possible to consider creating an almost ‘mountainous’ landscape to make your volcano bay look even more realistic.

Idea 3 – Tropical Safari

A tropical safari provides the creators with endless possibilities when it comes to designing the course. You could create a different animal themed section for each hole. For example, you could have bright, vibrant colours to represent a parrot or leopard print flooring to represent a jaguar. This idea can even be accompanied by life-size scaled animal sculptures to emphasise the theme that you are promoting. It may also be viable to have different animal noises and safari sounds playing through speakers as background noise to make the setting more immersive.

Idea 4 – Jurassic World

Dinosaur themes are also popular when it comes to miniature golf courses. Due to their extinction, people, especially children, are particularly interested in seeing sculptures of them in real life. However, dinosaur sculptures aren’t particularly unique and can be found in many different leisure activities. An idea that would be more costly, but also less common, would be to have moving animatronics incorporated into your miniature golf course. The initial cost would be higher, and it would also cost more for regular maintenance, but it may be worth it to have a unique aspect to your theme that could attract more people. It can also be noted that if your course is based outdoors, passers-by are able to see it, encouraging even more people to visit. Word of mouth is also a great way to get more customers, and if you have a theme that gets people talking, then it is going to be even better for your business.

Idea 5 – Dragon Quest

Dragons, similarly to dinosaurs, are particularly popular as they can only be seen in the imaginary world. The fictional fantasy element is what makes them so exciting to see as fiction can be turned into reality by using dragon sculptures to make your theme epic. This can also be accompanied by artificial flames and sound effects to make the theme come to life in magical ways. Dragon themes, like many others on this list are also interesting and fun for people of all ages. This means that you aren’t limiting your business to certain people and are widening your target audience.

Idea 6 – Movie Themed

There are plenty of movie-themed hotels and businesses, so why not create a mini-golf course? You may have to look at licensing and copyright laws to make sure that your idea is possible, but this is a great way to come up with creative ideas. Golf courses have been made based on Alice in Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean, and more. Rather than directly copying a movie, you can take fun aspects from them that may create a unique theme that you wouldn’t have thought of before. For example, an under the sea theme from Finding Nemo, a dwarf village from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, or even a magical ice kingdom from Frozen.

You could also look into obtaining a public film screening licence to screen outdoor movies that are related to your theme. For pirate-themed courses, you could show Pirates of the Caribbean or Hook and for Dinosaurs themed courses you could screen Jurassic Park or The Land Before Time. There are many different film opportunities that can benefit your chosen theme.

Idea 7 – Indoor Glow in the Dark

If the weather in the area you are planning to build on is unpredictable, then maybe an indoor miniature golf course is the perfect solution to your problem. Most miniature golf courses are based outdoors, which in places such as the UK, means that they can only open seasonally. Outdoor courses don’t make as much money in the winter because of the cold and wet weather. Having an indoor course would eliminate this problem as you can stay open all year round. You would need a relatively large indoor area to do this, so it is important to look at the space you have available to you and consider if it is viable.

To ensure that people are spreading the news about your course and even coming back themselves, you need to have a theme that is fun and entertaining. A perfect idea for this is to create a UV or light-based theme. Being indoors is the perfect way to be able to manipulate light and create some crazy colours. A blackout room with coloured UV backlights and light paintings is going to stand out well. You can even have glow in the dark accessories such as clubs and balls that complement the theme.

Idea 8 – Under the Sea

An under the sea adventure may be more effective as an indoor miniature golf course idea. Being indoors allows you to use different lighting effects to your advantage. You could even use specific strobe lighting that mimics the effects of being underwater. You could then add different sea creatures and relevant sea-themed decorations such as seaweed and coral to add to the aesthetic. You could even adopt a more unique approach and incorporate mythical sea creatures such as mermaids, sirens, or even your very own Kraken.

Idea 9 – An Adventure Through Time

A historical approach to miniature golf can be great for both entertainment and even learning too. You can combine different events from throughout history to create your own unique and interesting timeline throughout your course. By providing a historical edge that isn’t typically found in many miniature golf courses, your course could become an educational and fun location for school trips to take place. Another idea would be to recreate your favourite time periods from history like the Egyptians, Victorians or even a spin on Greek mythology.

Idea 10 – Lost Jungle

A theme of discovery, such as the lost jungle, can combine competition and fun to create a unique theme idea. Different puzzles and challenges can be incorporated throughout your theme to add a competitive edge and provide a new element to mini-golf. Placing jungle animal sculptures in their ‘natural environment’ will add to the jungle theme. You could include snakes, monkeys, tigers and many more different animals.

The Best Spots For Mini Golf In San Diego For Family-friendly Fun

H ave you got a date or family night coming up this weekend and need some ideas on what to do? Well, we’ve got one suggestion, mini golf in San Diego!

San Diego is home to plenty of themed miniature golf courses, from tiki towns to marine life courses. One thing they all have in common is they provide a lot of fun regardless of your age or who you’re with.

What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than competing against your loved ones on a challenging course filled with surprises?

We’ve put together all the best mini golf courses in San Diego for you to have your next swing at.

Let’s get started.

Best Mini Golf In San Diego

Tiki town adventure course at belmont park.

Address: 3114 Mission Blvd, San Diego, CA

Phone: (858) 488-1971

Take on the challenging 18-hole Tiki Town Adventure mini golf course at Belmont Park . Grab yourself a club, choose your lucky colored ball, and hit the field versus the others in your group.

Around every corner is another task with a twist. Do you think you have what it takes to come out on top?

The interactive course follows a tropical island theme with creative Polynesian pop aspects everywhere. One of the most excellent features includes half of the holes being outside and the other half weaving inside a building that was once a police station.

Everyone who visits this pitch and put course loves the prize you can win on the 18th hole. If you manage to score a hole-in-one on it, you’ll receive five dollar power card that can be used in the arcade.

Ever since this crazy golf game opened in 2013 at the Belmont Park Amusement Park, it’s gained a lot of attention. Be sure to arrive early if visiting on the weekend, it gets pretty busy.

Tappers Mini Golf At The Loma Club

Address: 2960 Truxtun Rd, San Diego, CA

Phone: (619) 222-4653

What was once a part of the San Diego Country Club has now amalgamated with the A.G. Spalding’s Point Loma Golf Club. In recent years the club has decided to give those who want to play a round of holes, without the professional side of things, a course to play on.

You’re even allowed to buy cocktails from their bar to sip on during your round. No doubt this is some of the most fun putt putt in San Diego.

Tappers Mini Golf has two nine-hole mini golf outdoor fields, both family-friendly. When you book your game, you’ll be asked whether you want to play on the Gopher or Gator course. Each is super fun and offers something different from the others. You can play 18 holes (two courses) if you’re like. Just mention it when you’re booking.

If you plan on playing from Monday – Thursday, 12 pm – 4 pm, ask about their off-peak hours.

After you’ve had your fun, head to the course’s onsite restaurant for a bite to eat and a cocktail. Certainly ideal for anyone on a date.

Pelly’s Mini Golf In Del Mar

Address: 15555 Jimmy Durante Blvd, Del Mar, CA

Phone: (858) 509-5130

Pelley’s Mini Golf In Del Mar is home to two fantastic 18-hole mini golf courses, the Ocean Adventure and the Surfin Safari.

Both follow an ocean theme with striking sculptures throughout to enhance the vibe, which kids absolutely love. Additionally, there are some lovely ponds and fountains adding to the peaceful background noise.

The course is situated at the Del Mar Golf Center, so finding it will be easy. There’s a great deal on offer; if you buy two rounds, you get the second one at half price.

Boomers In Vista

Address: 525 W Vista Way, Vista, CA

Phone: (760) 457-4737

One of the top spots for mini golf in San Diego is Boomers In Vista. The course offers players two cracking 18-hole fields filled with lots of twists, turns, and complex challenges.

You can either play on King Arthur’s Royal Course or Pirate’s Cove. If you’re with the kids, or one of your little ones’ birthday is coming up, Pirate’s Cove is a great option. It’s designed to tap into a child’s imagination and give them the feeling they’re in a movie.

Those looking for something a little more challenging will prefer King Arthur’s Royal Course. It boasts lush green gardens, waterfalls, and some windmills that you’ll have to try to knock the ball under.

People of all ages are allowed to play at Boomers in Vista, but be aware that children have to be in the company of an adult.

Pick which ball and putter suits your playing style and head out to claim victory.

If you’re not on a time schedule, look into buying the unlimited pass option which gives you access to both courses for the whole day. Play as many rounds as you want without worrying about cutting the fun short.

Rockin’ Jump

Address: 8190 Miralani Dr, San Diego, CA

Phone: (858) 693-5867

Head over to Rockin’ Jump’s newly renovated 18-hole miniature golf course featuring an array of obstacles. This course will put your skills to the test. Whizz through tropical palm trees and try to get the ball over the bridges without landing in the sand.

See who in your group can get the lowest score to earn bragging rights.

Rockin’ Jump is a trampoline park, so you can merge activities and do a few if you’re interested. Parents can kick back, relax in the cafe, and take advantage of the free wifi after their game while the kids bounce around.

Your little one can even have their party here, Rockin’ Jump caters to all events.

There’s some brilliant miniature golf in San Diego for people of all ages that guarantee a fun-filled day for all.

Maybe you need a breath of fresh air after a long week or are looking to get into playing some real golf but don’t know where to start.

Whatever your situation is, make the booking, play a couple of rounds, and enjoy yourself.
