In 2016, BLACKPINK took its first steps toward K-pop greatness. Thanks to YG Entertainment, members Kim Jisoo, Jennie Kim, Roseanne Park, and Lalisa Manobal joined together to create what would become one of the most popular girl groups in South Korean music.
BLACKPINK’s talents in hip-hop and dance-pop helped the all-female squad get ahead early.
BLACKPINK kicked things off with its album Square One. Featuring songs “Whistle” and “Boombayah,” Square One reinvented typical K-pop elements with an edgier trap-style energy. Eventually, this would become BLACKPINK’s signature sound.
“Whistle” and “Boombayah” left lasting impressions not only in South Korea, but in the U.S. as well. Following its swift climb up the charts, BLACKPINK released Square Two in late 2016. Square Two was a massive success thanks to the tracks “Playing with Fire” and “Stay.” Soon enough, BLACKPINK became the first K-pop girl group to land on the Canadian music charts.
The group’s next single “As If It’s Your Last” hit the airwaves in 2017 and paved the way for a stellar Japanese debut. The group’s self-titled EP included re-recorded Japanese versions of previous songs. After soaring to the top of Japan’s charts, the group followed up in 2018 with Re:BLACKPINK, a re-release of the EP which included both Korean- and Japanese-language versions of each track.
BLACKPINK’s rise took the ultimate turn with its 2018 EP Square Up. International hit single “DDU-DU DDU-DU” was the perfect example of high-energy “K-trap.” The song’s accompanying music video became one of the most-watched K-pop videos on YouTube, with over one billion views. It was no surprise the track also landed BLACKPINK a coveted spot on the Billboard Hot 100, a first for any all-female K-pop group.
The band’s worldwide popularity shifted as they sealed a deal with Interscope/Universal. Later in 2018, a highly-anticipated collaboration alongside popstar and label partner Dua Lipa on “Kiss and Make Up” set BLACKPINK up for more global success. After the song left a memorable mark on the U.S. and U.K. charts, the girl group released another Japanese-language compilation titled BLACKPINK in Your Area.
In 2019, the K-pop quartet expanded its discography with another top-notch EP. Kill This Love set the tone for the band’s upcoming worldwide debut. BLACKPINK’s next single “How You Like That” was its seventh track to climb high on the global charts, proving the band was an international force to be reckoned with.
In addition to Dua Lipa, the group worked closely with pop phenoms like Lady Gaga on “Sour Candy” and Selena Gomez on “Ice Cream.” By securing these collabs, the K-pop band set the standard for their full-length debut.
Due to long-lasting success, BLACKPINK embarked on numerous tours. A string of arena performances from 2018 to 2020 spanned across the globe and kept the band’s popularity at an all-time high. Dedicated fans saw the all-female quartet up close and personal as it put on a must-see show.
2020’s The Album was BLACKPINK’s first full-length studio album, with eight high-energy tracks – including “Bet You Wanna,” featuring rapper Cardi B. With this collaboration and more dance-pop vibes, The Album cemented next-level acclaim among fans and fellow musicians. The LP took well-deserved top spots in countries like South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S.
BLACKPINK’s sophomore album Born Pink took the world by storm in 2022. No one could deny its power, especially after the release of lead single “Pink Venom.” Other favorites like “Shut Down” helped Born Pink set more records for the K-pop genre. In its first week, the LP hit number one in the U.S.
Live reviews
The concert was more than I ever imagined! I love the group, I love the girls, I love the songs and dances!!! The experience was unforgettable beacuse I enjoy listening to their music nonstop and now i saw and heard all songs live! I am so lucky!
But my experience before the concert was a disaster... The thibgs started with the endless queue for merchedinse. I waited for two hours and in the end they told me the lightsticks were sold out? That was so disappointing for me and all people in the queue. Also, yes it was long queue but there were not ever a barricades or anything to keep the lines from queue passing!!! So many people just came and went in the front adn nobody can say anything because they do not have proofe.
Another thing, when the doors opened at 18:30-18:40 nobody entered because the crawd( it was not even a queue) was not even moving a meter! Then the concert started 40mins later because the entering was not orgainsed at all! I am absolutely disappointed by the organisation but at least I tried my best to enjoy the show and one of my favourite groups!

Wow this concert was absolutely amazing. It’s so much better than I expected. I knew it was going to be great but wow... it was amazing. The atmosphere of the concert was outstanding. Even when they just put music videos on at the start everyone was screaming to them. The girls were so nice and were very interactive with the audience. My dad who doesn’t like Kpop enjoyed the concert as well. I’d really recommend seeing this concert.
Omg this show in london was amazing. The energy and atmosphere stay alive all night making the concert fun all the way through. each member did so well as well as jennie, the videos of her being lazy completely cancel out as she was energetic the whole night. they interact with the audience and not just sing and dance. They are so cute and make it enjoyable all the way through. Jisoo is also the cutest thing ever you have to see her live
Blackpink can you please come to Indiana I have been with you guys since your first released song and I would love to come to one of your concerts. Blackpink Announces ‘Born Pink’ Tour Dates, Plots Largest World Tour in the History of a K-Pop Girl Group
By Larisha Paul
Larisha Paul
Blackpink are launching into their comeback era at full speed with the announcement of Born Pink , the 36-date world tour that aims to be the “largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group,” according to the pop phenomenon’s management company YG Entertainment. They also announced the release date for their upcoming LP, also named Born Pink . The album arrives on Sept. 16.
The expansive tour will launch on Oct. 15 in Seoul before Blackpink makes their way to Dallas and Houston. November will see the group performing in Atlanta, Hamilton, Chicago, Newark, Los Angeles, and London before making December stops in Barcelona, Cologne, Paris, Berlin, and Amsterdam.

Blackpink recently made their musical return with “ Pink Venom ,” their first official single since the release of The Album in 2020. After some time holed up in the studio, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa will release their sophomore album ahead of the tour launch, getting back into the flow of stardom.
“I love to perform, but I don’t always enjoy being part of the spotlight,” Jisoo shared in Blackpink’s candid Rolling Stone cover story . “I think it’s different for the other members: They love to receive the spotlight, feeling energized by the people who come to see us, and then getting a bit depressed when the stage is over and silence arrives. I’m a little different. When I’m onstage, I think about not making mistakes. Performing sometimes feels more like a test than something genuinely fun.”

Thai Influencer Goes Viral For Heartbreaking Taylor Swift “The Eras Tour” Scam Experience
A Thai influencer had her hopes and dreams crushed in the blink of an eye.
Natrada “Pluem” Thammapanya , known among her 250,000 Instagram followers as Chopluem , was one of 368,000 Taylor Swift fans who attended The Eras Tour in Singapore. She had planned to attend the second day of the concert with her friend.
On March 3, one of her reels went viral for unfortunate reasons. It featured the two of them crying outside National Stadium while singing along to the soundtrack of “Cruel Summer,” one of Taylor Swift’s songs from her Lover album. They were all dolled up in their concert outfits but could not enter the venue. In her caption, she revealed that the tickets she bought turned out to be fake.
Buying a fake ticket for the first time in my life. I’m shocked, and I don’t know what to say. I did not expect this to happen. My friend and I were looking forward to seeing the show for nearly a year. We wanted to sing this song together. Many people were deceived just like us. — Chopluem
View this post on Instagram A post shared by chopluem(โจวปลื้ม)🧸 (@chopluem)
Chopluem bought them from a reputable Twitter account with over 13,000 followers. Upon entering the stadium, she and her friend handed their tickets to the staff to scan but were unable to enter as the QR codes beeped red. The staff investigated and soon found out that the seats were already taken by two Thai fans. Upon further inspection, a total of eight people were found to have access to the same two tickets.
The staff opted to cancel the seats in order to be fair to all eight victims.
Her story had a fortunately happy ending. She returned to Singapore a few days later and was able to attend the fifth day of The Eras Tour in one of the floor sections, getting a close-up view of her idol.
Needless to say, she was ecstatic. It was not mentioned how she was able to find new tickets, but it was clear that she was immensely grateful for them.
10 pics couldn’t express how much i deeply felt tonight. — Chopluem
She went from crying to “Cruel Summer” outside of the stadium to singing it inside!

What U.S. Record Labels Can Learn From K-Pop’s Successes
The minds behind acts like BTS and BLACKPINK know a thing or two about minting global stars — and Western companies are starting to take note.

As Billboard has already observed , Korean music companies are exporting more than just K-pop — they’re schooling Western labels on how to do business differently.
The lessons appear to be sinking in. As K-pop acts continue to boom in popularity in the United States and beyond with sold-out stadium tours, No. 1 albums and Coachella headlining slots, more American music companies are taking note — and even getting into business with Korean industry giants like HYBE, JYP and SM Entertainment in deals that amount to a win-win for both parties. For Korean companies, they provide an opportunity to establish themselves in the lucrative U.S. market. For American labels, they offer a window into the K-pop A&R model that has launched groups like BTS , BLACKPINK and Stray Kids to global stardom, all while traditional artist development at U.S. companies seemed to take a backseat to a habit of signing acts with TikTok-famous songs ( to diminishing returns ).
It’s just that sort of old-school artist development that K-pop companies have perfected over the past several decades. In the 1990s, SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo-man coined the term “cultural technology” to describe his highly disciplined system of producing and promoting K-pop on a global basis, and it wasn’t long before other Korean music agencies followed suit using similar methodologies. As HYBE CEO Jiwon Park previously told Billboard , “Combing through social media platforms like TikTok may give us a chance to sign artists who are technically proficient as music producers or performers, but we demand more from our artists.”
Below, we list a few of the lessons U.S. labels can learn — and in many cases, are already learning — from K-pop, from A&R to touring to promotion and more.
Employ a Standardized Artist Development Model
SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo-man was arguably the pioneer of the years-long artist development model, now common throughout K-pop, that involves recruiting and training artists through a systematic and highly disciplined process. More recently, Western music companies have begun partnering with K-pop giants to learn the ropes of that model. In 2021, it was announced that Universal Music Group’s Geffen Records was launching a girl group talent search with BTS’ label, HYBE, a partnership that has since led to the six-member, U.S.-based girl pop group KATSEYE , whose development will be the subject of a forthcoming Netflix docuseries. Other examples include a partnership between JYP Entertainment and UMG’s Republic Records, which formed the global girl group America2Korea (A2K), as well as a partnership between Kakao Entertainment’s Starship Entertainment imprint and Sony Music Entertainment’s Columbia Records to co-manage marketing and promotion of the girl group IVE in North America. It remains to be seen whether these experiments will bear fruit, but the model’s successful track record in Korea demonstrates its potential in the West as well. – Chris Eggertsen
Multiple Successful Solo Careers Can Be Launched From the Same Group
According to traditional industry/pundit logic, any given boy band would be lucky to produce one, maybe two solo stars — and those solo career kickoffs better not happen in the same calendar year. In the streaming era, BTS seems to be proving that assumption wrong. Fans of the band have rallied with the same fervor behind solo efforts from all seven members, with each one launching solo material within the same two-year span. All of them have notched at least one Hot 100 entry, with most scoring several entries on the chart. Two members — Jimin and Jung Kook — have topped the Hot 100 thanks to “Like Crazy” and “Seven” featuring Latto , respectively. It’s not unheard of, but it’s elite company: The only other groups in Hot 100 history to boast two or more members with Hot 100 No. 1s are The Beatles , The Black Eyed Peas , Blind Faith , Destiny’s Child , Fugees , Genesis , Hot Boys and One Direction . – Joe Lynch
Make Your Label a Recognizable Brand
A record label can become such a trusted arbiter of good taste that consumers will buy an album merely for the imprint’s imprimatur, but K-pop companies have taken brand recognition to levels unseen in the West. Take SM Entertainment, for example. In its home base of Seoul, the K-pop giant created SMTown coexartium, a six-floor shrine to SM and its K-pop stars that includes a theater, museum, gift shop and cafe. JYP Entertainment, meanwhile, created a pop-up store in Japan that ran for two months in 2021. Granted, building name recognition may be easier at a K-pop company than a major label with a diverse roster that spans multiple genres. But maybe it’s time Western labels take a page out of the K-pop book on top-down hierarchy and try building a brand that consumers will follow year after year. – Glenn Peoples
Bring the Fans In-House
While Western labels and artists leverage platforms like Instagram, X and TikTok to reach fans, many K-pop labels boast in-house engagement platforms that centralize companies’ ability to track and monetize fan data through things like social media, merch stores, email marketing campaigns and livestream concerts. Platforms like HYBE’s Weverse and JYP Entertainment’s JYP Three Sixty not only diversify those labels’ businesses and allow them to exercise more control over artist-to-fan interactions, but they become gathering places where artists’ most highly engaged supporters can better organize campaigns to supercharge new releases, merch drops, ticket sales and more. And the model is catching on in the West: Just last month, Warner Music Group CEO Robert Kyncl announced the company would be building a platform “where artists can connect directly with their superfans.” – Chris Eggertsen
Play the Variant Game
The strategy of releasing multiple variants of an album (clean/dirty, instrumental, remixes, etc.) to goose first-week numbers isn’t exclusive to K-pop acts, but it’s still more widespread among Korean artists than those in the West — particularly when it comes to CD releases . Indeed, K-pop groups like Stray Kids, BTS, BLACKPINK, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, NewJeans , ATEEZ and SuperM have all debuted atop the Billboard 200 by selling sometimes dozens of physical variants of their latest releases. Western artists have gotten into the variant game more and more, but aside from Taylor Swift and a handful of others, few have employed it as successfully. – Chris Eggertsen
'Authenticity' Is Overrated
It’s not exactly an industry secret that a lot of boy bands and girl groups come together less-than-organically, with industry gurus dictating everything from membership to fashion to musical choices. Most acts have downplayed the heavy hand the label or manager holds, but K-pop groups have been significantly less shy about acknowledging the reality that these groups go through intense training on everything from dancing to singing to public speaking and frequently have limited input on the music they release (at least early in their careers). In the ‘90s, boy band Stans got defensive when critics hurled accusations of inauthenticity at their faves — these days, not so much. Music fans seem to embrace the reality that many boy bands and girl groups are formed by outsiders and tightly coached on their image. – Joe Lynch
Put on Longer Concerts
Many K-pop shows tend to run past the three-hour mark, and with sold-out tours for acts like BTS and BLACKPINK in North America, it’s clear the fans aren’t complaining. While some American artists — most prominently Taylor Swift on her blockbuster Eras Tour — have begun stretching their shows to the kind of runtimes once associated almost exclusively with jam bands, more of them might want to consider following suit. As ticket prices continue to skyrocket, fans more and more want to feel they got their money’s worth. – Chris Eggertsen
Invest in Choreography
While tight choreography was once the name of the game for pop groups like NSYNC and Backstreet Boys in the United States, synchronized dance moves have become far less common over the last couple of decades. However, judging from the recent success in North America of K-pop touring acts — whose choreography hearkens back to the bubblegum era of the late ’90s and early ’00s Stateside — U.S. labels and artists may do well to party like it’s 1999 by bringing back the ultra-slick choreography that was once the dominant form of expression for U.S. pop stars. – Chris Eggertsen
Record Your Songs in Other Languages (or at Least Use AI to Fake It)
Anybody who has traveled to other countries knows that locals appreciate tourists who try to speak the language. And with music, speaking the local language can open up new opportunities. Take Jon Bon Jovi , an English-speaking guy from New Jersey who had the idea early on to tap into Spanish-speaking markets. In 1992, “Bed of Roses” was re-done as “Cama de Rosas” for the Latin market. In 1995, the band tried again, recording “Como Yo Nadie Te Ha Amado,” a Spanish-language version of the song “This Ain’t a Love Song,” as a single in Latin America. At least in the latter case, the strategy paid off: “Como Yo Nadie Te Ha Amado” went gold in Mexico and reached No. 4 on Billboard ’s Latin Pop Airplay chart.
While few American artists have followed Bon Jovi’s lead since, in K-pop, incorporating English into songs has become fairly standard practice, arguably leading to even greater success for those artists in North America. And in May, HYBE took that a step further by employing the AI technology of Supertone, which it acquired two years earlier, to create six versions of the track “Masquerade” by MIDNATT — in Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish and Vietnamese. While recording songs in other languages may not be feasible for most English-speaking acts, as streaming services help develop music markets around the world, AI could come in handy for Western artists looking to reach new fans. – Glenn Peoples

Looking for the latest on where to buy Bruce Springsteen tickets for his new 2024 tour? We have all the details on upcoming dates and venues across the US, Canada, and Europe. Now the tour is here, many reseller prices have started to come down.
Springsteen had to cancel the tour with the E Street Band late last year due to coming down with peptic ulcer disease. Those dates have been rearranged, with a range of US dates newly fitted before and after the planned European tour dates. We've updated the table below with the latest information and the cheapest starting prices we've seen tickets listed. On the plus side, we've seen most prices drop.
Springsteen's concert tour includes The Boss performing songs from classic and new albums alike. The setlist so far has included familiar tracks such as "Out in the Street," "No Surrender," and "Letter to You." The members of the E Street Band playing with Bruce include guitarist Steven Van Zandt, drummer Mike Weinberg, bassist Garry Tallent, pianist Roy Bittan, guitarist Nils Lofgren, and vocalist Patti Scialfa.
If you're aiming to buy Bruce Springsteen tickets for the last leg of his 18th headlining tour, here's a breakdown of the remaining tour schedule, purchasing details, and ticket prices. Or you can browse at your leisure the remaining tickets available through StubHub and Vivid Seats .
Bruce Springsteen 2024 tour schedule
The tour dates for Bruce Springsteen resume in March for the US before moving to Europe in May. All concert times are listed for local time zones. We've added links to the cheapest (at the time of writing) ticket site for the remaining tickets in the 'Prices from' column.
How to buy tickets for Bruce Springsteen's 2024 concert tour
You can buy tickets for Bruce Springsteen's 2024 tour online through Ticketmaste r for original tickets, though only a limited number remain for each location. However, ticket prices are generally higher for original tickets than they are on verified resale platforms like StubHub and Vivid Seats .
For standard ticket sales, the lowest prices on StubHub range from $52 to $450 for an individual ticket, depending on location. Vivid Seats offers a similar price range for Bruce Springsteen's concert tour, with cheaper tickets ranging from about $70 to $527 depending on the date and location.
How much are Bruce Springsteen tickets?
Since the initial Verified Fan sale on Ticketmaster is long over, prices for original tickets have risen due to demand. The cost of original Bruce Springsteen tickets varies depending on location and date.
For example, the cheapest cost for a standard ticket at Springsteen's Rutherford, New Jersey concert back in August last year was $249.50. Meanwhile, the lowest standard price on Ticketmaster for an original ticket at his Columbus, Ohio, show on September 21 is $252.50. Original VIP tickets are even more limited, with some of the cheaper options beginning at $212.50.
Original prices typically come in much higher than resale prices for Bruce Springsteen concerts. Many cheaper tickets are resales for nearer tour dates, suggesting you might find the best prices when it gets closer to the concert date.

Russ announces ‘It Was You All Along Tour’ with 6LACK. Get tickets now
2024 will be the summer of Russ.
This May and June, the popular Hip-Hop artist is hitting arenas all over North America on his recently announced ‘It Was You All Along Tour’ with special guests 6LACK and Melii.
He’ll close the brief 10-concert run in support of his 2023 album “SANTIAGO” at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Friday, June 28.
These won’t be your typical shows, either.
“Imma have Strings From Paris too so prepare for a couple live orchestra songs,” the 31-year-old rapper shared on Instagram .
As for whether or not the tour gets expanded, Russ gave his fans a cryptic answer in the comments section of his post.
“I know y’all want more cities,” he said. “Doin’ somethin’ different this time. Trust the process. I love all you. Europe getting announced soon too btw.”
While we’re not quite sure what that entails, fans can pick up tickets for all 10 ”It Was You All Along Tour’ gigs as soon as today.
Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, March 15, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.
A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues and links to buy tickets can be found below.

The rapper-singer dropped his sixth studio album “SANTIAGO” on Aug. 18, 2023.
Comprised of 13 dreamy, bouncy tracks, the album serves as a showcase for Russ’ confidence as a vocalist and rhymesmith.
Standout tracks include the stripped-down “Fraud,” flashy “Enough” and chilled-out “Adventure.”
Personally, we were most drawn to the soul-sample heavy, sensitive “The Wind,” which closes the 41-minute record.
Want to give it a spin?
You can listen to “SANTIAGO” here .
At all shows, Russ is bringing along a pair of heavy hitters to kick off the festivities.
To make sure you’re familiar with their respective sounds, here’s each artist’s most-streamed track on Spotify.
6LACK: “Calling My Phone”
Melii: “HML”
Many of the biggest names in the game will be out and about this year.
Here are just five of our favorite rappers you won’t want to miss live in the near future:
• Drake with J. Cole, Lil Wayne , and Lil Durk
